- Just a personal observation from me to you guys I have my groom in my 1st house at 1° (Double Aries Energy). Can we talk about Juno Zeta?

You're living the dream, Master Archivist of the Sixth House. The Archaeology department hates you. The secretaries love you. Your son has risen to the very top of the absolutely unproblematic meritocracy of the House to become Master Warden. Sure, you treated him as a colleague when he was 7 too, but this is much more intellectually satisfying and much better for your publication record (suck it, Archeo). You sit on the Oversight Body, making decisions for the 3 million strong House of the Sixth.

Then the Master Warden gets summoned by god to become a Lyctor. (No civilian has seen a Lyctor for thousands of years. But the information you do have speaks of astonishing power. Are you intrigued? Do you regard it as an even more stellar opportunity for the Master Warden? Do Lyctors have access to interesting material for the archives? Does the possibility of your son becoming an immortal finger and gesture of god ever feel strange?)

A few months later, some fragments come back in a box. There's nothing left of Camilla at all. No one will tell you anything. Every House but the Third and the Ninth has lost its head or heir (the poor girl your son loved is dead. You're never going to get another overly-formal letter from the Fifth begging for Lyctoral documents from your archive.)

Then the Master Warden makes contact from beyond the grave to tell you that the saintly founder of your House left a plan in place in case it ever became necessary to betray god. He tells you why god should be betrayed.

Suddenly, the Oversight Body has to make a decision. To take your home and 3 million people away from the Dominicus System (away from its thanergetic soil, no more necromancers will ever be born). To break the contract of tenderness made on the day of the Resurrection. Do you have time to call back your soldiers in the Cohort? Do you have to leave them behind? Has the Oversight Body ever felt unanimously about something before? And how frank can you be with the House? You have visiting scholars from almost every House, and who knows where the Bureau have eyes and ears.

There are calculations to make. How to transport a whole House? How do you work out that it takes five hundred and thirty-two obselisks? That there are deleterious effects past five hundred and sixty? How do you find a stele that would anchor such a big thanergy transition? (Only the Fifth make stele. Do you try to do it yourselves? Who do you trust on the Fifth to help with that? Is that why Kester Cinque left Koniortos?)

The Master Warden, who is dead, lives inside the body of Camilla, who is not. He picks you - in your capacity as Master Archivist - to be one of the negotiators. How do you integrate 3 million people into a completely alien society with whom your people have been at war for millennia? How does negotiating with terrorists feel compared to academic committees?

What happens then? One day you just...lose it? The sun rises too bright and too blue and you are in agony, unconnected from yourself, screaming and writhing. And when the thing in the sky is at its furthest orbit from you, in some exhausted moment of clarity, you nearly kill yourself using necromancy to restore your sanity. You blind yourself. Do you think beyond that moment? As someone who deals in documents and artefacts and forms in triplicate, do you mourn your sight alongside everything else you have lost? Your son, your home, your god, your sanity...

And now you are a hostage. Sixteen of you in the back of a sweltering truck, held at gunpoint, always moving. The only thing keeping you alive is the possibility of selling you back to the empire that you've betrayed. Your captors have signed a 'no torture' clause, and perhaps they do stick to that. You're needed for providing proof of life and are probably better off than most. But it's too hot, there's not enough water, you can't see, and the only way out is either that the Master Warden gives Blood of Eden a Lyctor or being released to the mercies of the Kindly Prince. You sit in the dark and do mental maths with each other to stay sane.

Somehow, the Master Warden has done it. Without a Lyctor, he's turned his own cell commander against her fellows and you have been released. Most of the Oversight Body can't even walk out of the truck without help. But you're free, and the Master Warden - now in the stolen body of a Lyctor's cavalier - has the sort of mad scheme only he could come up with. Those mental maths will come in handy. The cell commander isn't bad either...

You can't see your son die again (the last time he speaks to you, from that borrowed body, he calls you 'mum' instead of 'Master Archivist'). But you can smell Camilla’s flesh burn. Perhaps the Commander, holding your arm, describes it to you. You follow this new person, your child, now something else, back into the truck where you were held captive and watch as they drive it into the River.

The Tomb is open. Your child is part of a being of strange and unimaginable power. The House Formerly Known as Sixth is on the other side of the universe. You are on the Ninth with a dead cavalier in the body of her necromancer, the Emperor’s construct, legions of demons, and a very mysterious dog...

Anyway, I'm very excited to see what havoc Juno gets to cause in ATN. She's there to be snarky, do psychometry, and be a romanceable MILF. Let her yell at god. And for goodness sake, let her get some peace at the end.

Mini Astrology Observations pt. 2 - Compatibility Edition

💕 Juno is the best determiner of a long-term romantic union. It is not the only one (!) but it is the one that counts the most. Juno can also indicate a soulmate or twin-flame connection.

💕 This is all based on a stereotypical opinion (not facts), but toxic/unfaithful relationships I've seen a lot of times are always between 1. Virgo males and Pisces females. 2. Sagittarius males x Libra females. 3. Aquarius x Scorpio. 4. Aries x Cancer. 5. Gemini x Scorpio. And this is always because one of them is too forgiving and loving, and the other is free-spirited and has a more independent mindset. [If that’s not like this with you and your s/o (and you guys are in this top five) then it may last.]

💕 The three best green flags I've seen in synastry that could indicate a great relationship of longevity are 1. Your sun conjunct your partner's moon or jupiter, or vice versa (their sun conjunct your moon or jupiter). 2. Your sun or moon in your partner's 4th house, or vice versa. 3. Mars in opposite signs or sextile [two signs next to each other].

💕 The three biggest red flags I've seen in synastry that could indicate a shaky relationship [may end up taking time to find stability] are 1. Your partner's moon or venus conjunct your saturn, or your moon or venus conjunct their saturn.2. Your partner's moon or saturn in your 8th house, or vice versa. 3. Your partner's Juno conjunct your south node, or vice versa.

💕 The signs love in different ways. So the way they show love could be different to what you may expect. Pisces, Sagittarius and Leo usually feel the love in their soul. Capricorn, Taurus and Aries usually feel the love in their body. Gemini, Virgo, Aquarius usually feel the love with the mind. Libra, Cancer, Scorpio usually feel the love in their heart. (This is taking into account Venus, Moon and the Descendant)

💕 Placements that square in synastry are actually not bad, but it takes some work. Square signs usually have a bad rep of being the signs you find the hardest to get along with, because they represent what you don't. However, in synastry it isn't as bad as it could be. Sun, moon, mercury and venus signs that are square in synastry actually last pretty long and have marriage potential (e.g, an aries moon and a cancer moon. or a libra sun and a capricorn sun).

💕 (Not necessarily based on compatibility per say, but) If you have a planet in 7th house and it is in Retrograde, the Retrograde could play quite a big role on why it may be hard for you to keep the people you love or are interested in. This is because a planet in Retrograde is one that's not moving, so since the planet has stopped, the traits of that planet have to be reinstated manually (which is why during a Mercury Rx, people have to rely on consistent manual communication, by double-checking with each other). There's no help from the Universe. So with that in 7th House, relationships become reliant on manual practice. So the best way to actually keep them and last in a long-term union is for you to consistently & confidently practice and display the traits of that planet to your partner (e.g, If you have a 7H Mars in Rx, practice putting in energy, healthy leadership, passion and action in the relationship. If you have a 7H Jupiter in Rx, practice being optimistic, and confidently speaking your wisdom and higher knowledge to your partner would benefit the relationship.) Ultimately though, the best advice is to actually be with someone who also has your same placement (Mars in Rx, Jupiter in Rx, etc.) It doesn't have to be in the same house/sign. Just that same planet being in Rx for them as well.

Most overrated aspects in synastry & in a composite chart:

-> One person's Sun in the other person's 7th house in synastry; many say that you'll figure out which Sun sign is your lover going to be by looking at your descendent but honestly it's more common that you fall for someone who has the same Sun sign as your Mars sign (if you're a woman) or if they have the same Sun sign as your Venus sign (if you're a male). Also something very very common are matches like your partner having the same Moon sign as your Sun sign and vice versa!

-> One person's Sun sextile/trine their partner's Sun sign in synastry: or in other words matches that are water-water/earth combos or fire-fire/air combos. B o r i n g. Sun signs don't need to be positevely aspected for the relationship to work! Tired of hearing that, for example, Pisces Suns are attracted only to Scorpios, Cancers, Capricorns and Taurus 🥱

-> 5th house placements in synastry; they don't always bring love, romance & amusement into the relationship, sometimes they're indicators of short-term relationships that will always stay light-hearted and fun, but won't grow into something more serious

-> being with someone who is the same sign as your Juno sign; Juno/Hera in Greek mythology didn't have a perfect marriage at all, this asteroid actually can indicate complications in the relationship (although you could make the relationship work and be greatly rewarded for it afterwards, but it takes a lot of energy and willpower)

-> having Libra placements in the composite chart; okay yes this is romantic and beautiful to have but there are other amazing placements that are also indicators of romance

Most underrated:

-> oppositions!!! There are often NOT a bad sign in synastry, they create tension & they can keep the relationship from becoming a boring routine

-> Capricorn placements in the composite chart; love these couples! They grow together financially and care about each other's working routine. You can often see them working together & enjoying it, and since most of us spend the majority of our time working, these are very benefitial placements to have

-> Moon trine Jupiter in synastry; this is such a beautiful placement to have because you feel good/safe/fulfilled around the other person

-> Juno/Venus/Aphrodite/Cupid in the 1st house in synastry; could indicate love at first sight, being attracted to that person instantly + one person's ascendent in the other person's descendent is also a similar vibe

-> one person's Vertex trine/sextile/conjunct the other person's Vertex -> it's fate that the two individuals met

I genuinely can't believe that people read the whole Beastars manga and still think that Riz & Pina's friendship was unnecessary and came out of nowhere when the whole Murder Resolution Arc points in that direction:

Because Riz & Tem's relationship is meant to be a representation of everything wrong in Beastars. Their society fears conflict, so they try to avoid it, BUT they do it wrong.

When the other boys of the drama club leave the school, Legoshi notices that carnivores and herbivores coexist and live together in peace. Later on, when they end up in the BAM, Bill tells him that they are happy BECAUSE of the BAM, because they can have a place where they eat meat.

Basically, what Bill is saying is that carnivores and herbivores can live together and be in peace, as long as carnivores still have a space for themselves to show their real instincts. It is the same idea their whole society has: carnivores want to eat meat, so even if it is wrong, as long as they do it in a hidden place away from herbivores, the peace outside the BAM will remain.

Later, Juno comes up to a similar conclusion. Yes, the infamous "What's wrong with segregation?" For some reason, she's been criticized a lot for that lol, even though she's just saying what everyone else thinks is the right thing.

And, even if she's wrong, her reasoning does make sense (from a logical point of view). She understands that predation cases reinforce herbivores' bad views about carnivores, and in consequence, it makes carnivores' lives harder. So, she sees the same solution Bill and society see: as long as each has their space, and as both sides hide the worst parts of themselves while being kind on the outside, they can maintain peace.

However, that doesn't work, and Tem's death is the perfect example of this.

Riz believes that other animals like him just because they think of him as a "cute, nice bear". But the thing is, Riz doesn't want to be liked just because of his virtues, he wants to be liked completely as he is, to be accepted despite not being perfect. That's why, when he tells Tem about the pills, he feels happy: he has just admitted that he can be a lot more intimidating, and Tem offers to spend more time with him regardless. Riz believes that, since Tem already seemed to be fine with that information, then he would accept him and love him even if he saw him as he is naturally— bigger and stronger.

Now, of course, the execution goes terribly wrong, BUT, Riz's reasoning is actually right. The thing that can solve all their problems and make them all happy is to accept the other completely, with their flaws and all, and not just ignore that which they might not like.

In fact, that's exactly what Els does with Bill: she calls him out on ALL his mistakes, but she admits that, despite his flaws, he's a good guy at heart. She's not ignoring his wrongs, instead, she acknowledges them, and accepts him as a friend regardless.

THAT is what Riz wanted. For someone to see him as flawed as he could possibly be, as dangerous as he could possibly get, and still love him anyway. Beastars is not the typical "oh, you're not so bad after all!", nor the "I guess we are not so different, huh?" NO. That's not how true acceptance works. Beastars is the exact opposite: it is "Yes, we are different, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to understand each other". It's a "Yes, you are flawed, terribly so, but that doesn't mean you're undeserving of love".

Riz was happy when Tem pointed out he was scary and when he called him a monster, because it was the first time that someone, FINALLY, saw him as something more than a cute bear. Someone, finally, saw him as something else than perfect, and that is good! Because no one is perfect, because we are all flawed. The point of the story is to accept that imperfection is good, and is part of the beauty of life.

Riz, in his fantasy, believed that Tem had seen him as monstrous as he possibly could be and had still seen him as a friend worthy of love. Unfortunately, what truly happened was that Tem, who up till then had never actually seen carnivores as a real threat, suddenly had to face what everyone else told him: that carnivores hide their true, dangerous self.

The big tragedy about their story is that none of them are wrong. Tem did exactly what society taught him to: be nice and friendly to carnivores, and they'll be nice to you. He just saw Riz as another classmate, another boy just like he was, not even aware of their differences.

But that's the problem with the whole Beastars' world: you don't truly accept someone until you know everything about them, and that includes the negative things. Ignoring stuff you don't like solves nothing. As Riz realized, the way to shorten the distance between carnivores and herbivores is to show yourself as you are, with all your virtues and flaws, and hope for others to accept you as such. You can't hide what you're afraid to show others because you don't wanna be rejected, because it will eat you from inside, and that's what ends up causing carnivores to lose it: the stress from trying to be what others want you to.

And that's exactly why Riz's headaches and side effects went away when talking to Tem: the pills are just a narrative device that works to show how, the more "likable" carnivores try to be around others, the more it hurts them. It's not a placebo effect, but it is only an example of how things get better when we just talk and listen to one another.

Seriously, if you paid attention to the whole story, you'd see that Pina was literally the only one who could give him the relationship with a herbivore that Riz longed so much for:

Pina, who knew that he ate Tem. Pina, whom he threatened more than once, Pina, whom he literally hurt just to get Legoshi mad. That sheep, who saw the worst of him, accepts him anyways, deems him deserving of forgiveness, and befriends him. Pina is what Riz always wanted: someone who could see him as a complete monster and love him regardless.

Herbivores' and carnivores' relationships are about taking that risk, accepting that things may go wrong, but trying to be better together anyway. Yes, Riz does deserve to be in juvenile because he made a mistake, BUT he also deserves kindness, and someone willing to help him, and Pina is the one animal that can do that for him. Just like Riz & Tem's relationship represent the mistakes most make, Riz & Pina's represents the way to do things better.

Okay, so I was re-reading your Slider one-shot for like the twentieth time, and what really struck me (beyond the brilliance of your writing, and the way you’ve presented the disillusionment of growing up, expecting the world to be a certain way, only to realize that life doesn’t quite work out the way you think it will, when you’re seventeen), is the casual sexism just tossed ‘round by our main characters!! :o We have canonical evidence of both Ice and Mav being pretty sexist (what with “the plaque for the alternates is in the ladies’ room” and the downright stalker-ish behavior exhibited by Mav at the O-club…), but it still surprised me a lil’ when twenty-y/o Ice was just like: “The Soviet Union did the impossible and taught women to drive” —and I realized that ah, he truly was born in 1959, or something. There’s little scenes throughout your story where I find myself wondering, which one of them is better, in this sense: When Ice tells Mav that Sarah isn’t talking to him ‘cause of his combat kills, justifies it by saying: “You know how women are”, and Mav tells him all women aren’t the same… I thought that maybe, it was Mav; but then later, Ice shows a distinctive amount of empathy for Juno, sees and respects her for the skilled pilot that she is… and I thought that maybe, it’s Ice after all—he does seem to be more progressive and accepting than Mav, in general? It also made me wonder, that if either of them had been a woman, would they even have respected the other person enough to consider them to be a rival??—or would it have a been a mildly-amusing circus side show for them, to have a female pilot at TOPGUN?

But—maybe this is my experience growing up in one of the bluest counties in Commiefornia and then going to one of the most leftist-coded colleges in one of the most leftist-coded cities in The World; uhh, even if a white man votes D all the time & has professional respect for women/minorities to their faces etc, get him in a room with a bunch of other white men, especially in a masculine and competitive environment like the gym or the navy, and uh. progressive or not, what you get is a lot of “The Soviet Union did the impossible & taught women to drive.”

And it was the 1980s. (As a reminder, in top gun’s 1986, less than 45% of Americans even approved of interracial marriage.) It sucks to say it, but if Ice was making fun of Cougar for quitting the navy cause of his psych issues such as they may be, and openly calling bullshit on Maverick’s MiG story in front of everyone, I am quite confident in saying he Would Not respect a female pilot to her face—if they were the same rank. At the same rank, it’s a competition. All weaknesses, even perceived biological ones, are to be exploited and called to attention. —But, once he’s advanced in rank, proven his own superiority, he’s more inclined to favor a meritocratic “sex doesn’t matter just fly good” attitude, ergo his relationship w/ “Juno” (she’s just a literary symbol to show that Ice may have respect for other minorities in the Navy “your career speaks for itself” but NOT FOR HIMSELF as a closeted man). This “who cares about gender/race just fly good” attitude is probably where 50s+ Maverick lands too, which is why no issues with Phoenix.

but jesus GOD maverick is a sexist in the original Top Gun. That’s why I wrote the prologue to WWGATTAI—a part of me definitely believes both he and Ice are definitively queer, but a part of me also wonders, are they just also conditioned to dismiss women as intellectual/societal equals because of their time in the 1980s male-dominated Navy? CAN they really only have a truly equal relationship with another man? I have no idea what my Ice’s sexual orientation is for exactly this reason. Yes, he’s functionally gay by the end of it, and that’s what I keep calling him—but sexuality is fluid & complicated. It’s definitely more-than possible he’s mostly straight and it’s just the circumstances of his wildly intense trauma-bond relationship with Maverick that led to their relationship as I wrote it. If you don’t LIKE/understand/respect women, and only feel at home/excited by committing acts of male-typified violence with the few men you respect, how does that bend your definition of the word straight? ...its still straight, but only straight-ish!

not to take it a step further, but WHY ELSE is canon maverick single in TGM? he canonically can’t make it work with women until he retires from the navy!!! he doesnt know how!!! His military environment is not conducive to normal long-term relationships with civilian women!!!

Of course I keep it in mind. As Jupiter, the King of Gods, to date me means to ascend to the status of Goddess Juno, my wife. Dating, in other words, is marriage. How old-fashioned, you say? There is nothing I can do about that. I have been living this way since before the dawn of time, after all.

Chii... I guess that would be when she has comforted me. Truth be told, I had that thought when she comforted me when I felt depressed after some mice had stolen my favourite cheese. After that, she gave me a bath, dried me off, and fluffed me up! In that moment, I almost blurted out, “chi, chi, chii!” (Translation: please marry me!).

I intended to create a meticulous plan! However, I cannot suppress my feelings any longer... I am now ahead of schedule. The plan I had in mind was a solemn one in which I would propose calmly in the divine realm, just the two of us, where the agape flowers were in full bloom. I was going to do it in a cool manner. It is a shame that my cue cards went to waste...

teehee any of my COD opinions are usually unpopular, but I feel like Ghost has been extremely butchered by the part of the fandom who has never played the games or watched any gameplay. The amount of mischaracterization I see online of him such as him needing a childhood blanket to sleep, being unable to look at himself in the mirror, being insecure, being abusive, and being into CNC is wild, because... that's really not like him, at all. Also him not showing his face to his S/O... the point of the mask is to hide his identity from the enemy and be able to separate his personal life from work, a balaclava in public would make his enemies recognize him easily. Not to mention he removed his balaclava in front of Los Vaqueros, men he knew for literally like 2 days.

I’ve never thought about Sol having sex (<-lie) but genuinely it never occurred to me that if Sol had sex then he might pass down his FoC Prototype Gear genes. Do you think he could command them? Like in a non-parental, Command-type Gear-type way. Would they be Dragon-Install children?

Oh geez, this sounds like a nightmare Sol would have where Justice is the mom, and he would shoot up in bed and Jack-O’ would say, “What’s wrong? Go back to sleep.” And Sol would look over and Jack-O’ would be Justice in pajamas! And then he would shoot awake in bed! All a dream! And then he would look over at Aria and then-

All of this is ruined if you subscribe to the theory that Sol had rawdogged Justice though. Dizzy’s not even a little Dragon-Instally…

The depth of Sol's Gear abilities has never really been fully explored (probably because he hates being a Gear and mostly avoids tapping into it) so I'm not actually sure if he could command other Gears like Justice or Dizzy could? I'm gonna assume probably not though because being able to rip control of at least a few Gears from Justice during the Crusades to make them easier to kill would have been an insane advantage and we never got anything saying he ever did or considered doing that lol

But, kinda like what you're saying here, it might be a difference between him being a Flame of Corruption Gear and all the others being Scales of Juno. Justice says she couldn't control him in Missing Link because he's a "prototype" but they hadn't dug into the two different Gear seeds yet back then. It could have just been the difference in Gear cells preventing the control from working. I don't actually know what would happen if there was more than one FoC Gear.

Based off of how Sol talks about the FoC and the obvious side effects we've seen of it, I'm going to guess that maybe SoJ Gears are inherently more orderly than FoC Gears, which more naturally just want to go apeshit bananas without a real cohesive "leader" element keeping them in line. We can't know for sure though. Sol is the only major source of information (AFAIK) we've been given for Flame of Corruption-type Gears. It might turn out that the two seeds are basically the same outside of some aesthetic differences and Sol's just ended up making him want to kill all of the time because Asuka fucked it up somehow.

Dizzy has a canon install form via her +R instant kill "I Can't... Contain My Strength." Mechanically, it's completely unlike Sol's in-game install (or HOS's DI Sakkai "instant kill"), but she definitely has a powered-up state that changes her physical form like he does:

Since Ky now has an install that makes him stronger and changes his body too, it might be fair to assume that any substantially powerful enough Gear can go into an install state no matter if they're FoC or SoJ.

I don't think Sol would have had the time to rawdog Justice (or even want to; they turned his fiancée into a giant murder monster) without someone else knowing or seeing it happen. I do think Dizzy wasn't originally meant to be his kid though and it was written in without taking the timeline into serious consideration lol Either Gears can delay their pregnancy for insane periods of time or Asuka somehow got a... tissue sample... and made it happen via mad science. I hope it's the former because the latter is dark even by GG standards.

Dizzy biologically being Sol's offspring crumbles apart under any amount of scrutiny lmfao It would be cool if they actually explained that in more detail some day. Top 3 biggest Guilty Gear mysteries tbh
