A Future Return For O.W.C.A. Files? (Discussion):

O.W.C.A Files is a 1 hour special that premiered on Disney XD November 9, 2015 a while after Phineas And Ferb’s “final” episode.

It was one of the possible spin-offs the creators thought about doing, but it didn’t really go anywhere. It followed the B-plot characters post Doofenshmirtz turning good which is a smart idea for a spin-off since most people tended to like the B-part of the story better while more were bored with the A-plot.

However, among the fanbase it is a pretty controversial episode. Some complaints are that Doofenshmirtz is too annoying in the episode, the character design isn’t great, animation is mediocre, the pacing isn’t good, and the existence of the “Bits of All Of Us” song which some found very pre-school-like.

It definitely could have used Norm or Vanessa to balance out the absence of another talking being while also toning down Doof’s annoying-ness over the course of a series, but I still think it was a pretty solid episode with other Phineas And Ferb level songs and shows the Doof n’ Perry action packed secret agent show spin-off that could have been.

Other spin-offs like a Fireside Girls one and Doof 101 were also contemplated, but out of many different show pitches, Milo Murphy’s Law would ultimately become the next show Dan and Swampy would work on instead, as well as the next Dwampyverse show.

But could O.W.C.A. Files still be?

Before the revival was announced the creators have always talked about how they might one day revisit the show in “the next summer”.

Since it’s starting to look more and more like the Phineas And Ferb Revival will take place in the next summer while also visiting other episodes of the characters in the future it is possible that we could see an O.W.C.A. Files like B-Plot in a future episode once again, especially since Doofenshmirtz might likely be good after he turned good in the Season 4 Finale and after the events of Milo Murphy’s Law.

Doof does return to evil in the timeline though.

When it comes to the episodes that Doof is still evil in, but take place after the events of the Summer, (the Christmas and New Years specials/ etc.), Co-Creator Dan Povenmire’s explanation was that sometime after the events of Doof 101 (the fall after the summer) and before or after OWCA Files (I forget) Doof relapsed to an evil phase again which is believable, but after the events of Milo Murphy’s Law where his new, less evil, destiny is revealed it is less likely the creators will want to make him evil again unless they decide to switch of the Dwampyverse timeline once again🫠.

Milo Murphy’s Law and O.W.C.A. files both proved the B-Plot does not rely on Doofenshmirtz to be evil for entertainment. Not to mention some of the most memorable moments of the B-plot in the series have Doof being pretty tame and actually working together with Perry to accomplish a task.

However, it still seems unclear whether the crew or executives will decide to make him evil again or not in order to capture the same charm of the original show. We’ll just have to wait for the next announcement of new details soon.

Overall, it’s probably about a 50/50 chance whether the B-Plot will be an O.W.C.A. Files like Doof n Perry duo fighting evil, or not.

Even if nothing like that appears in the revival, Povenmire did sign a deal with Disney to make additional shows for the Disney Channel, including properties for the Dwampyverse, which means something like O.W.C.A. Files could still be on the table as a future show.

Random Dwampyverse Background Character Headcanons

Nancy is married to an agent of the British Spy Union name Verity who didn't know of her wife's involvement in evil until a particularly despicable plot that Nancy's companions persuaded her to partake in got out of hand. After that, Nancy found a way to nip it in the bud, change her ways and now she lives an easier life at Verity's home, occasionally helping with missions.

Verity is the one with the purple and white dress.

Nancy's a person of sweet nature at heart, and has innocent tendencies, and was only convinced to become a L.O.V.E. M.U.F.F.I.N. member through being told that the group's name is a trick of psychology against O.W.C.A.. Like if they believe they're the good guys it would lead them into a false sense of security and kinda making it easier to reveal their weaknesses or something like that. She's also a theatre nerd.

Here's Doof's friends from 'Act Your Age', from left to right, Memphis, Shane, Saul and Coleen.

Memphis Gero and Saul Stromberg are doctors at Danville Hospital and Saul is the more outspoken and active one. He is a good person at his job and is very qualified, which kinda gets him the more important tasks and other operations. He can get big headed because of this and jump into things without thinking which can land him into trouble.

He's the same person that took Linda and Lawrence into those caverns in 'Save Summer' but one of his incidents involved an injury on his chin and nose, which was altered from his request. He also dyed his hair blonde since.

Memphis keeps more to himself but that's not to say he isn't as qualified. He just doesn't parade it as much. He's one of the usual jokey friends along with Saul when with Heinz.

Shane hadn't been friends with them long before he passed (kinda because I didn't quite care enough to develop him lol).

Coleen is Saul's wife who runs a seaside restaurant named The Wheelhouse and gets along cooperatively with her husband. Both having a lot of the same opinions and love each other very much though Coleen sometimes has to calm him down when he gets too far ahead into potential messes. They’re also Thaddeus, Thor and Mandy’s parents.

Alfie is the calm voice of reason of the team and the level headed man who seems to have a calm, peaceful life that his friends would love to have. Gardening in a downtown allotment, teaching horticulture at Jefferson County Middle School.

He and Heinz' other friends own the O.W.C.A. agents in 'The O.W.C.A. Files' as pets. Saul and Coleen own Kenny the cat, Alfie owns Maggie the macaw as a carrier pigeon and Memphis owns Harry the Hyena.

Baljeet's mum is named Nisha. She's a Maths teacher at Jefferson County and she's the sort of teacher that's easily pushed about by students. She helps keep calm through running her own allotment on the same area as Alfie, who is a good emotional support figure to her.

She was the one who helped Baljeet become as academically gifted as he is but he was the one who helped her in return to stand up for herself and have a bit more fun in her life, thanks to the Phineas and Ferb influence.

A PnF/O.W.C.A fanfic Takes place few years after O.W.C.A Files

Chapter 1:Spring Ka-Boom! 

It has been 8 years since Heinz Doofenshmirtz reformed from villainy and 3 years since retiring from working with O.W.C.A due to a little accident that happened at H.Q that led him to retire, though Heinz didn’t mind he had fun and enjoyed helping the team while it lasted and the agents even admit they enjoyed Heinz the Ocelot’s company with Harry the Hyna, Karen the Cat, Maggie the Macaw, and even Perry the Platypus threw him a small farewell party with Doonkelberry cake with chocolate ice cream and sparkling cider along with Maggie and Karen gifting him a flower bouquet as they said their goodbyes with them shedding a few tears (mostly Heinz Maggie and Karen) it was the best day Heinz had with them. After leaving O.W.C.A Heinz tried to keep busy he took on hobbies to pass the time from taking on painting again, knitting, and baking (a lot) he even reconnected with his past ex Linda becoming good friends like their daughters as Heinz helped out in events. Life was going pretty well for him, in fact so well he decided to clean up his lab, after all he wasn't really using most of the old animators anymore and he didn’t like knowing they were collecting dust, perhaps maybe Major Monogram would want some of them or Linda's sons. He might even sell them to good scientists so the next few days he organized every inator he had cleaning up the pieces from the old inventions putting them and organizing all in junk boxes to either donate or throw away to recycle as he was lifting a heavy box load across the living room, suddenly he felt a vibration in his pocket balancing the heavy box with one arm and hip he fished out his phone checking to see it was a text from Vanessa she was on break from college and was coming over for a surprise visit saying that she'll be here in 30 minutes making Heinz smile. Texting back Heinz replied (that’s great news sweetie maybe we can grab some lunch when you get here see you in a little bit Vanessa : ) )Unfortunately while he was distracted his grip on the boxes slightly tilted, causing a tumble as heavy as the boxes fell, luckily he moved out of the way in time, he decided to assess the damage, but in doing that he didn’t see the self-destruct button which he accidentally pressed with his knee. As a high-pitch self-destruct sounded Heinz broke into a sweat “Uh oh that can’t be gg….?”

The birds suddenly jumped from their perches squawking from fright at the sudden 'KKKKAAAA-BOOM!!!!!!!!!' coming from the top of the building a booming explosion so loud it was heard not far from Vanessa's location as her 30 minutes became 20 as she ran up the building to the elevator after hearing that familiar sound panic on her face, "Dad!, Dad!, You ok!" She called out, the dust settled and Vanessa could finally make out her father, she ran over to him helping him up. Kneeling she was able to get a good look at her father he looked like he was beaten up from the explosion with a couple of cuts and bruises and sores all over him from whichever inator got him she didn't know how it was going to affect him but thankfully he was still breathing which was a good sign and one thing she did know was that she had to get him into a hospital "it's going to be okay Dad we're going to get you to help just hang on!" She whispered gently patting her father's face as let out a small grown/whimper Vanessa began dialing for an ambulance "It's going to be okay Daddy don't you worry I'm here." The sounds of Ambulance sirens filled the street, as the O.W.C.A’s private Paramedics ran into the building; they were quick to get Doofenshmirtz into the Ambulance, and to Reassure Vanessa.“Don’t worry miss, your father is in great hands!” a young man spoke. “I’m going with him!” Vanessa spoke, quickly to push past the young man and stand next to her father.

Two Weeks later

the last thing Heinz felt was soreness and a lot of pain like he was hit by a ton of bricks every inch of his body as he opened his eyes vision was slightly blurry but it was soon clearly revealed that he was in a hospital bed slowly looking around he noticed his daughter in one of the chairs fast asleep looking like she's been there all night what was she doing here? Was he doing here? And what was on his face? Gently lifting his hand he lightly taped fingers across his cheek realizing he was completely covered in bandages not only on his face but on his arms and someone's legs his eyes know the mouth how did this happen to him maybe Vanessa knows using his strength racing his voice to a loud strained voice whisper called out to his daughter "Va..Van.. Vanessa... Vanessa?" Hearing her father's voice after 2 weeks of waiting for him to wake Vanessa opened her eyes in surprise and happiness that her dad was awake! "Daddy!" she happily cries out, soon a bunch of doctors come into his room.

They all ask him questions that feel like they blur together. "He just woke up, give him some space!" Vanessa spoke, glaring at the doctors, they eseed up a bite waiting for him to speak. "Wha..what..hap..happen..?"He asked voice still a little strained sensing the dryness in her dad's voice Vanessa quickly fetched a cup of water that was next to them placing a bendy straw to help drink "Here Dad have some water this should help." Placing the straw by her dad's lips Heinz gladly took it taking slow sips to quench his thirst as the doctor explained what happened "he gave us quite a scare there Mr.Doofenshmirtz you're lucky your daughter got to you just in time we managed to cover and disinfect the cuts and sores from the accident but the force from the explosion must have really knocked you out hard as you were out for 2 weeks while your body healed itself." That will be good news for Heinz and for some odd reason he did feel different like there was a strange divergent in his body he had no idea what it was but we'll have to wait and see if whatever happened must have affected his body somehow.“That’s great news Doc, you’re gonna be ok Dad.” Vanessa sighed in relief “I’m glad it is baby girl” Heinz smiled from under his bandages though he was still curious yet a little concerned about the strange change in his body. What did this inator do to him?

The 3 days passed as Heinz spent his time talking with his daughter who informed Charlene, and Linda who was happy Heinz was alright even visiting him for a while until it was time to go, reading books and watching a little TV, while mostly resting most of the time during his stay the 3rd day, the day his bandages were going to be removed it was nearing afternoon Heinz and Vanessa were just finishing up an early lunch that she brought after getting an ok with the doctor, enjoying some turkey cheese sandwiches and pudding cups for a treat.“Today’s the day Dad you excited?”She asked her father taking a sip of her drink “Yes though I am a little nervous I don’t know what’s hiding behind the bandages.” he commented which was true for the last three days he had maybe even a little scared he felt a hand on his shoulder as Vanessa gave a reassuring smile “hey its gonna be alright dad whatever happens I’m here for you.” Giving her dad a gentle squeeze “Thank you, sweetie.” Feeling at ease he decided to open up his pudding scooping up a big bite in his mouth eyes widened at the flavor “Oh this rice pudding..?” he swirled the desert around showing Vanessa the label “Oh oh yeah Dad it is I’m sorry I forgot you don’t like rice pudding I must’ve grabbed it by accident instead of vanilla, you can have mine instead dad here” offering her chocolate one but Heinz decline “no no that’s alright Vanessa actually (taking spoonful)..hmm..it’s actually not that bad..oh is that a hint of cinnamon?..(taking another bite) hey it’s pretty good.” rice pudding wasn’t so bad after all. They both laughed as they finished up the Doctor came in to check on them “Afternoon Mr.Doofenshmirtz are you ready to remove those wrappings?” walking to Heinz getting a small pair of scissors ready taking a breath he nodded “Yes doctor I’m ready.” Taking his daughter’s hand for comfort Heinz closed his eyes a the Doc to cut the wraps holdings “ok Mr.Doofenshmirtz I need you to hold still for me ok.” He instructed as he carefully removed each bandage Heinz took a shaky breath until the last wrapping was removed from his face, a sudden gasp came from Vanessa startling as the Doctor gave an “Oh my” What was it? “Vaness? What..what is it?..is something wrong?” opened to see his daughter's expression shocked and a little on her face “No..no it's not dad..it's just..dad it's your face!” now he was worried “What...what do you mean Vanessa? what’s with my face is there something on it? (was it a scar or something else he had to see!)what is it, what is it, let me see please?!” quickly Vanessa fetched a mirror from her purse “here dad just don’t freak out ok.” Handing it to her father Heinz slowly hands slightly shaking to his face. His jaw dropped from what he saw staring back at him. For there right in the reflection was his face yet it was different like a side that had never seen before as if it bloomed right out his face after years of hiding, his hair normally a simple brown that looked/felt richer and softer like silk even growing longer covering half his face, his eyes were still a deep sea blue that seems to shine, behind long eyelashes, nose sharper, as he brushed his hair out of the way lightly touching his pale skin feeling softer and smoother with soft features his high cheeks a rosy hue, lips red and plump like cherries. He knew something was different as the doc helped unwrapped the rest from his arms and legs it seemed his whole body become softer and elegant. It’s as if the strange inator brought his inner beauty..? he couldn’t believe it “How..how was this possible?” he felt he was gonna faint.

DTVA/DTS TAGTEAM TWEET-ATHON MOVIE #83: THE O.W.C.A. FILES (2015)

I’m gonna be honest, you shoulda left this in drafts.

I’ve always been of the mind that Phineas and Ferb are the least interesting parts of their own show, but I also have always been of the mind that you need both the Doof vs Perry story and the Phineas and Ferb build something story for an episode to work.

If you only focused on one, the show would be much less interesting. This special is an obvious backdoor pilot for a spin off series that gets rid of the Phineas and Ferb storylines, and gives top billing to a story about OWCA characters, and it’s definitely funny. 

...but

I don’t think this needed to be a TV show. I’m glad it wasn’t, but I also didn’t need it to be a Special Episode. It takes the core of what made the original series special, and kind of messes with it. It does have a new supplemental story, however. It’s about bugs.

The bugs are really funny, but I don’t think they work as a side story that ties in with this world. I’d like them better as a series of shorts a la Looney Tunes or Animaniacs.

As it’s own thing it’s fine, but I don’t think it would have worked. I’m glad Milo Murphy’s Law was the real next step for these guys...until it wasn’t. Anyway, the movies fine.

You, Doof fans! Which spin-off would you have liked to be canon?

I kinda am attached to both.

The former for the sake of more Dooflene, more Vanessa and Doof moments, Perry being a teacher and potentially some episodes on Vanessa’s friends which I always got fun vibes from. It could work the best in canon because the things that went awry could be reworked to be the events of ‘Last Day of Summer’, ‘The Phineas and Ferb Effect’ and Doof’s consequential MML arc. As part of his attempts to being good, he could finally leave the Murphy household, get his own home and a job at Danville High.

Oh wow, another Doof lie tangent, anyway the latter would just be fun for the sake of O.W.C.A. lore and potentially using the scrapped Dr. Destructicon concept through an O.W.C.A Files exclusive special.
