THATS A THING? you bluestar's prophecy shippers are crazy. i'm open to it, it sounds super cute! but i just can't really think of a good reason on how the ship would happen. like thrushblue is good because it's unrequited love, or graythrush is good because she's raising 'his' kits, or oakthrush is like reversal. solid 6/10

YES!! Well, they were…

Their story is pretty superficial; they were both young, wanting for validation and love that they couldn’t find within their own factions.

Oakheart was a suave, charming, silver-tongued minstrel of the Riverward, with a hot head but a deeply caring heart. Despite being constantly surrounded by others, he felt achingly lonely, and started seeking out others at Gatherings. He first found Rainfall, but took note of how close she seemed with his brother and respectfully stepped off, not wanting to get in between their friendship; she was the one who awkwardly introduced him to Mapletail, who, in turn, led him to Thrushpelt: the foundling with no family in his faction, with a heart too big for his body, and a desperate tendency to fix every problem presented to him.

They started off as friends, but their relationship moved rapidly, until they became official partners on the grounds of the Riverward, within the Garden of Lights. It was half political play, actually, as Rainfall had just become orator and appointed Thrushpelt as her second in command, and Oakheart was the brother of Crookedstorm. With their already odd relationship via the status of the CrookedRain kits and the power plays that shrouded them, Crookedstorm wanted his brother to be happy, and keep war as far-off as possible. The CrookedRain kits were exchanged for a back-and-forth system over Sunningrocks, and the OakThrush union was made to keep tensions light between the two factions by celebrating a union.

Despite Thrushpelt’s background as sovereign, the two never wanted and never had kits; they were more than happy with their own family, especially as Thrushpelt now could communicate with his now niece and nephew, Fogtongue and Mistfoot, far more easily.

Thrushpelt’s passing has massive negative implications and impact upon the two factions, however… And none are more deeply effected than Oakheart.

Wait hi hello AU idea

Thrushpelt learns the truth of Bluefur’s kits and she asks him to help her bring them to RiverClan. He reluctantly agrees.

As they walk, Bluefur carrying Stonekit and Mistykit and Thrushpelt with Mosskit, he wonders if this is for the best. Bluefur can’t leave ThunderClan if she wants to be deputy, and she’s worried about what kind of leader Thistleclaw would be in her absence. As much as Thrushpelt can’t imagine this kind of loss for her, he understands why she’s doing it. She can’t leave ThunderClan. However, as much as Thrushpelt loves his clan, he cares about his kits more, even if they’re not his by birth.

When they reach the RiverClan border, Thrushpelt makes a decision. He’s going to stay with his kits.
