You stood in front of your mirror looking at your body. Why did you have to look like that? You thought your body looked horrible. How could anyone like you? The way your stomach puffed out every time you ate or the way your side profile looked. Suddenly, you heard your phone ding.

Walking over to your dresser, you picked up your phone and saw who texted you. Obanai. He was one of the only people you hung out with. You had become quite close to him over time, even as the loner he was.

- text message -

obanai - hey y/n...uh i was just wondering if you were available today? it's still pretty early, so i wanted to know if you could go out to dinner later. if not thats perfectly okay!

You read every word of it. A small blush spread across your face. Was he asking you out on a date? Or did he just want to hang out as friends? Ugh, why couldn't you understand?

- text message -

y/n - of course! i'd love to go with you! what time? and where?

obanai - oh thats great! i was thinking of r/n? and i can come to your house around 6 pm to pick you up? then we could probably walk there together since it's not too far.

y/n - oo i love that place! and that sounds great! i'll see you at 6 then.

obanai - alright.

It made you smile. Obanai always knew how to make you feel happy, even when you were feeling horrible about yourself.

- time skip -

It was around 5:56 pm when you heard your doorbell ring. You had just finished getting ready. You were wearing a very comfortable outfit with a coat on top. It was nearing winter so it was starting to get especially cold outside.

"Coming!", you yelled out from the top of your stairs.

Quickly, you made your way down the stairs and opened your door.

You saw Obanai standing there in a nice outfit, still wearing his mask.

"Hi y/n! Are you ready to go?", he asked you. He was being awfully polite to you.

"Of course! I've been waiting all day!", you responded with a nice smile on your face. You swear you saw him blush for a second.

Together, the two of you walked down to the restaurant.

- time skip -

"Ah, it looks so beautiful!", you exclaimed. It really did, the front doors were decorated with flowers. The inside had a beautiful touch to it and everyone inside looked like they were having the time of their life. But at the same time, they all looked like they were couples. You began to feel a bit out of place.

You made your way to a waiter and they gladly took you to a table for two. Together the two of you sat down and ordered your food. You could barely wait for it to come!

- time skip to when the food got here -

After the plates were set down in front of you, you looked at your food. That's when you realized how much calories must be in it. You took your fork and just mostly picked at it. You thought that if you didn't eat as much, you would be skinnier, and look more "appealing" to people. Obanai took notice to this.

He understood a bit how you felt. He felt embarrassed every time he had to pull down his mask and would have people staring at him like he was a demon. Even just being here eating with you made him feel embarrassed.

"Y/n? Why aren't you eating as much?", he asked politely.

"Oh I-...I just...uh..", you quickly scanned your head for an excuse.

"I'm going to go to the bathroom...", you said before quickly running off.

Obanai just stared at you in the distance. He wasn't sure how to react.

Once you got to the bathroom, you looked at yourself and immediately broke into tears. Had you just ruined your date? You felt embarrassed and scared that Obanai would think horribly of you now that you had done that. Why did you have to ruin everything? You hated yourself for that. From the bottom of your heart, you truly hated yourself.

- time skip to when you went back -

Nervously, you made your way back to the table where Obanai was still sitting. He had finished his food and was now just waiting for your return.

"Uh...Obanai? Is it alright if we go home? Sorry...", you said.

"Oh uh, of course! And it's fine you don't have to apologize for anything", he said in a calm manner. He didn't want to make you feel worse than you already had.

The two of you quickly got the bill and made your way out of the restaurant.

The way back to your house was awkward and uncomfortable, you weren't sure what to say and neither was he.

Finally, you made it back.

You glanced at the clock and realized the time. It had quickly gotten late and you remembered how far the walk to his house was. Feeling bad about how you acted earlier, you had to redeem yourself to him.

"Hey..Obanai?", you asked.

"Yeah, Y/n?", he responded.

"Do you want to stay the night? It's pretty late and I remember how far the walk back to your house is. It's completely fine if you don't want to!", you said very quickly. Almost too quickly for him to comprehend.

"Oh...sure! Thanks", he said. This shocked you a bit. He really wanted to stay? Really? You ushered him inside and quickly shut the door. It was a bit embarrassing when you realized it was just the two of you inside your house.

"Uh...anyways, I have an extra mattress upstairs so let's go up there!", you said, trying to break the awkward tension. He gave you a small nod and the two of you walked upstairs. You were a bit worried about how he'd react to your room.

- time skip to after the two of you got comfy -

"Hey Y/n?", he said, quite randomly.

"Yeah? What is it?", you responded.

"Well I was just wondering...and it's alright if you don't want to answer but...why did you not eat your food earlier? "he said. This shocked you. What were you supposed to say? You had barely escaped that the first time so I suppose this time you were caught.

"I..I uh...Well I thought if I didn't eat...maybe I could get skinnier...and then I'd look better", you said in a quiet voice. As quiet as you were trying to be, he still heard you, and hearing you say that made his heart break.

"But..But I think you look great as you are!", he exclaimed! He wasn't lying, he always had thought that you were pretty, and this was just the moment to prove his point.

"You do?", you answered.

"Well of course! You're so strong and your body's great! No matter how much you eat!", he said with a smile on his face that you could see even through his mask.

"But I don't think that", you said. It was true, you really didn't. It'd been a very long time since you had.

All of a sudden you felt his hands around your waist as he took down his mask and kissed you. It was such a random act that you didn't have any time to react. But eventually, you melted into the kiss and wrapped your arms around his neck.

"Y/n..I love you. I really do. I hope you can see that", he said.

"I love you too, Obanai!", you responded with. You had been waiting for the moment that you could say this. It was the times with him that made you the happiest. How could you not fall in love with him?

The two of you considered kissing you and eventually fell into your bed, still passionately kissing each other.

- Honestly, you remind him of his older sister.

- You met him during the time he spent his days at urokodakis house.

- Eversince that day, you were always with him. Even after the final selection.

- He really wouldn’t be able to live without you. Overall, you’re the last person in his family who didn’t end up being dead.

- You always beat him in tsume shogi.

- You may not notice it, but he really enjoys your company and trusts you a lot.

- Would try to open up to you more.

- He’s ALWAYS with you, literally.

- He loves to spend his time with you by watching the clouds.

- He always manages to remember what you tell him, he doesn’t know how he does that but he isn’t complaining.

- He treats others like ass, but he’s really kind to you.

- His mood always lightens up when you’re around him.

- You’re his favorite person.

- Kaburamaru isn’t only his pet now, he’s also yours.

- Your mothers were friends, so that means that you and kyoujurou knew eachother since childhood.

- And kyojuros father was the trainer you two shared.

- You would often come over and stay at his place, meaning that you would also get to see senjuro.

- You had a great relationship with senjuro aswell.

- The three of you were almost inseparable.

- You two have lots of things in common. For example, a huge appetite.

- At some point, you were stronger than Kyojuro. So you trained him.
