Burnt Sugar - Jervis Tetch x Reader
Summary: You give Secret Six Jervis a blowjob. That's it, that's the fic.
Word Count: 849
Warnings: 18+, slight edging, slight dom/sub dynamics, dom!reader, Jervis being a whiny little shit
"God… you're so pretty, Jerv."
Any other time, Jervis would protest being called 'pretty', but he was a bit preoccupied at the moment. His body quivered beneath you, oversensitive and gasping for air. Occasionally, small, airy whines intertwined with rapid exhales, which only incentivized you further. Your hand twisted lazily around his dick at the leisurely pace you knew elicited the best sounds from him, and your lips hovered centimetres away from the tip. Every exhale from you sent shudders through his body, and you relished the vulnerability he so freely offered you.
Deciding to have mercy on him (for now, at least), you leaned forward just enough to take the tip into your mouth. Jervis's hands flew up to his face instantly, and you briefly worried he might draw blood from how hard he was biting down on his white-knuckled fist. You reached up to gently take hold of his arm (inwardly grateful that he was short enough for you to do so without having to pause your mouth's assault) and tugged it lightly. With his hand no longer covering his mouth, Jervis positively keened.
"Not… not fair…!" His voice was somehow both hoarse and shrill. "You… you mustn't… ohh…"
You chuckled, and the vibration sent a surge of electricity straight to his core. Another cry was wrenched from him and he threw his head back against the pillow, babbling incoherent complaints and hips writhing beneath you. (And yet, you noticed, not once did they buck forward. For all his whining, he could be good when he wanted to be.)
"Oh? Do you want me to stop?" you cooed between soft pants before taking him back into your mouth.
"Ffffff- I didn't say that!"
You smirked slightly around him as your hand moved out of the way for your mouth to envelop him further, though it didn't remain idle, oh no. Instead, your fingers glided down to his perineum, ghosting over the sensitive skin in small circles. If he was quivering before, he was absolutely shaking now, and the way his hips shifted and rotated to get your fingers to move farther back wasn't lost on you. (Was it intentional? You had no idea, but it was hot as fuck either way.)
Regardless, you couldn't deny your boy. (That's a lie. You did it regularly, and he would make the most delicious sounds as you worked him into more and more of a desperate frenzy… okay, no, focus on the task at hand.) Your hand slid beneath him as you toyed with the frenulum with your tongue, and were your mouth less full, you would have smiled at how eagerly he lifted his hips to give you easier access. As tempting as it was, you mused internally as your thumb circled his puckered hole, that wasn't what you had planned for tonight. The sound Jervis made when your fingers returned to their gentle caresses was much like that of air leaking from a balloon, but his plaintive whine was quickly cut off by a much more distracted moan as your attention returned fully to your mouth's task. Gentle licking, sucking, even the occasional graze of your teeth to make him really shudder all worked in tandem to work him closer and closer to the edge.
"Ohhh…. yes! Yes, more, don't you dare stop now-" Jervis was cut off my a strangled cry as your nails suddenly dug into his hips in a playful warning. He shot you a half-hearted scowl, but reluctantly obeyed. Still, he didn't want to give you the satisfaction of seeing him come so thoroughly undone. He covered his face with an arm as he tried and failed to steady his breathing, and you laughed.
"Go ahead, baby. You've been so good for me." (And it was true, by Jervis standards.) "Cum for me."
No sooner did your lips return to his cock than he obeyed, his climax hitting him like a freight train as his shout was muffled by his arm. You stroked him through it, and by the time his senses had returned to him, you were resting your cheek on his thigh and smiling up at him. His heart clenched at the affection in your eyes and you seemed to him so much like the sun that he had to briefly avert his gaze to not blind himself.
You had expected this by now. This was, of course, the same man who had wept as though in agony the first night you spent together. He was still... a little weird about all this. About someone actually wanting him in this way (or at all).
So, you didn't pressure him to say anything. Instead, you placed a soft kiss against his stomach before pulling yourself up to lay next to him, smiling at how he immediately pressed his face into the crook of your neck. You knew you'd regret not cleaning up right away when the cum had dried into a crusty mess, but that was for future you to deal with. For now, this was bliss enough to make up for it.

crazy over you ~ simon ghost riley x reader slow burn/enemies to lovers
description: y/n gets transferred to task force 141 and quickly becomes friends with soap and gaz, but her and ghost "hate" each other for the first part. warnings: mentions of violence and death (duh), alcohol intake, smoking (at some point), nsfw (at some point), subtle flirting with soap. i'm new to writing? so don't expect this to be the greatest. this is not in line with the game campaigns or missions. the only characters i included are y/n, soap, gaz, price, & ghost. i have no knowledge of the military this is just creativity disclaimer: i do not own modern warfare or any of its characters.
chapters: next [payback] last
Two days went by slowly. You were concerned about Ghost, but quite frankly didn't dare to ask about his condition yet. As you came down from your adrenaline high, you started thinking more about the mission. You didn't think twice when it came to saving his life, even if he's been an ass to you, you did for him what he did for you. You acted right then and there. Not obeying his order when he told you to abandon him, the consequences didn't cross your mind.
It's illegal to disobey an order. Fuck, you were going to be dismissed already. Your pride told you fuck that - if you had to be dismissed over saving someone - your superior's life, then so be it. You'd rather be dismissed than leave someone like that. Plus, he saved your life, too.
Price did call you into his office for a meeting, and your heart nearly dropped. You expected to be dismissed but felt it was still wrong. Would they understand your thought process?
--
While you explained to Price about the situation, what occurred and how you acted upon instinct, he understood.
"Disobeying a superior officer's orders is illegal, mate. Legally, I should dismiss you. But you hold value to our team," he sighed. "You got fire in ya, I'm starting to see it. I like that. You did what needed to be done, and got it done - well."
You nodded while you had trouble maintaining eye contact, ready for him to just drop the bomb.
"I ain't gonna dismiss ya, kid," he shook his head. "Matter of fact, not gonna put it in the books or on record."
You breathe out a sigh of relief, "S-shit - thanks, cap."
He smiled at you, bright blue eyes crinkling as he blinked at you.
"How's Ghost?" you finally asked.
"He's... alive. In the hospital. Should be transferred to on-base medics soon," he informed. "Have a good day, y/l/n."
--
You go about your days as per usual. Training, shootin' the shit with the guys. It was different without Ghost around, admittedly. Word says he'll be on base tomorrow, so everyone talks about visiting him and if you guys should get him gifts.
"I'm going to get him a card and balloon..." you spoke up.
"Thanks for saving L.T., y/n," Soap thanked you, sincere evident on his face. "Some balls to not follow an order by him."
"Yeah," you chuckle. "Thankfully captain isn't dismissing me."
"We knew he wouldn't," Gaz smiled.
--
You traveled off base and bought a 'get well soon' card along with a skull balloon. Fits him well, you thought.
Arriving back, you sat at your desk thinking of what to write. You're welcome for saving your life. You made it. Glad you're alive. Sorry for not following your order.
No. You were stumped and finally settled on something.
You saved my life, so I guess this is payback. Get well soon. -Diamond.
Good enough.
You walk to the medic station, hopefully not too late as everyone else was leaving.
"Sorry, I'm late..."
"Nah, not too late," Price said. "Go on in. He'll be out soon, though."
--
As you walk in through the tent, you peek through the curtain.
"Ghost?"
He groaned.
"Hi..." you mutter.
He sighed as he opened his eyes at you. "What is it, kid? You know that what you did is illegal, punishable, and could, probably will, get you dismissed?" he scolded weakly.
"I already had a talk with Price about it. But I made a call and saved your life. If that gets me dismissed, then so be it. I wasn't going to let you die," you retorted with fire in your throat as you placed the card and balloon beside him on the table. "You know... Most people just say thank you... for saving their life."
Yeah, you used his own line against him. The fuck was he going to do about it?
Making your way to the door, and turning the handle, you heard shuffling and his grunts. He'd sat up, sighing. "Bloody hell. You're... right. Thanks... Diamond."
"Yep," you nod at him, hands behind your back, shifting on your feet as you become nervous, sharing eye contact with him, the way he looked at you was different. You click your tongue, thinking in between the awkward silence.
"Well, let me know if you need anything, sir."
He blinked slowly, head tilting down. "Simon."
"Oh..." you nod slowly, head running rampant at the fact he just told you his name. "Okay, Simon. I'll check on you soon."
--
Soap offers to take you out for drinks that night, and you don't hesitate to accept the offer. You were stressed. Hell, your whole body was stressed. You didn't even have the energy to get out of your uniform and told him you'd be the one driving as you didn't plan on getting plastered.
Arriving there, you and Soap find seats at the bar. You order y/f/d [your favorite drink], while Soap orders a whole pitcher of beer - expectedly.
"Ghost's warming up to ya," Soap chatted. "'S a good thing, bonnie. I know he's pissed atcha, but he's thankful for it, deep down."
"I know," you smiled, sipping on your beverage. "He told me."
He choked on his drink, "L.T. said thank you to ya?"
"Aye," you laughed while mocking his accent.
"Quit that."
You take a final swig while you request one more from the bartender.
"Steamin' bloody Jesus..." Soap checked you out. "Yer a maise." (Scottish Gaelic for 'beauty').
You look confused and ask what the hell that means. But you've discovered you had a thing for accents. Holy shit, Ghost's accent rang through your ears smoother than silk, paired nicely with his deep, gravel voice. Soap's was charming and made the Scottish language sound... honestly, sexy. No, you're not going back and forth between who you may like more, but you have to appreciate their attractiveness. Thinking of your captain and Gaz these ways would be weirder, as you've grown close to them like family.
"Yer a beauty, lass," he chuckles as he finishes off his second pitcher already. "Cannae help t'notice it."
Blushing, you thank him.
"I know ya like Ghost, though, lass," he squinted at you. "Don't think no one's noticed."
"What?!" you deny, even though the heat on your face gives it away.
He laughs in response.
"Soap, what the hell?"
The more you tried to defend yourself, the deeper you dug your hole, so you gave up. Whatever.
--
You two drowned out the night in long conversations, banter, and stories. You were too many drinks in and decided you couldn't drive anymore. Soap was pissed drunk at this point. You absent-mindedly tried to outdrink him, not knowing the consequences.
Gaz and Price came to pick you guys up, Price drove you guys back to base while Gaz drove your vehicle back.
"Christ, you two're pissed," Price laughed.
--
You don't remember the ride home, or how you got in your room, but you passed out cold, and still in uniform. Thankfully you have no missions tomorrow.

I PROMISE I’m working on requests, but for now here’s a sketch dump of my SI/MC. She got dragged down for the exchange program and then got dragged down again to teach and she complains once per class period.
Don’t mind the yo yo ghost, that’s just my sister’s malicious energy taken form

“why did we leave Prentiss in charge?
I was prompted to write about Emily teasing Spencer into doing something stupid and breaking something in the process. This turned out a lot sillier than I thought it would? And I was going to write more of it but it seemed like a good spot to end.
but let me know if you want to see a part two! or something angstier! lately it seems all I can do is write fluff!
(more about the boarding school babes)
----------
“Okay, okay, I think this time I can make all the way down without having to put my hands down,” Derek said, running back up to the top of the stairs.
“Guys, are you sure this is a good idea?” Penelope asked.
JJ tightened her ponytail. “You’re just saying that because you haven’t stuck a single landing!” she called from the top of the stairs.
Penelope stamped her foot. “I’m just saying that this seems really risky!” she said. “What would would the seniors say if they were here? Or Hotch?”
“Hotch wouldn’t know anything fun if it bit him on the ass,” Emily said. “And you know Dave and James would be trying this out. And it’s not that dangerous. You should have seen the staircase in the Ukrainian embassy. Now that was dangerous.”
“What would Alex say?” Penelope said desperately. “She’d think this is a bad idea.”
“Relax, baby girl, it’s fine,” Derek said, hanging over the railing. “You don’t have to do it. I mean, neither is Spencer.”
Spencer glanced up from his book. “Hm?” he said. “Did you say something to me?”
He ruffled Spencer’s hair. “Just that you and Penelope are sitting out on the fun stuff,” he said.
“Yeah, she’s a scaredy-cat, and you’re too little,” Emily said.
“I’m not a scaredy-cat, I’m being safe and sensible,” Penelope said.
Spencer’s mouth dropped open. “I’m not that little!” he said. “You guys think I’m a baby, and I’m not!”
“We know you’re not a baby, you’re just small,” Derek reassured him.
“I’ve grown a little bit!”
“You’re like...four and a half feet tall.”
Spencer slammed his book shut and scrambled to his feet. “Just because I’m small for my age doesn’t mean I’m not physically capable of keeping up with you guys,” he said, irritated.
“No offense, Spence, but I’m in gym class with you, I know what you’re capable of,” JJ said.
“She’s right, you run like a baby giraffe,” Penelope added.
Spencer crossed his arms. “Well, giraffes can run up to thirty miles an hour, so I don’t think your comparison is particularly valid,” he said.
“We ran the mile yesterday. It took you seventeen minutes.”
He thrust his book into JJ’s hands. “I’m going to slide down this stupid banister, and then you guys have to stop picking on me,” he said.
“Deal,” Emily said. “But if you don’t make it all the way to the bottom, then you have to do my trig homework for the next two weeks.”
“Deal,” Spencer said. He struggling to swing his leg over the side of the banister, but he managed to pull himself up.
“Oh, I’m not watching this,” Penelope said, taking off her lime green glasses. “If he breaks something, Alex and Hotch are going to murder you.”
“Relax, Pen,” Emily said. “He’ll give up less than halfway down. I’m positive.”
Spencer hesitated, holding on tightly to the railing. “Kid, you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to,” Derek said. “We’ll stop teasing you about being little, we promise.”
“I don’t!” Emily called. “Come on, Dr. Reid, do it! I have a lot of trig homework coming up!”
Even from the bottom of the stairs she could see him scowl. He let go of the railing.
To her surprise, he didn’t give up, or inch his way down hesitantly. He slid down, a lot faster than she expected, and he managed to get all the way down to the ground. Except he didn’t land easily, he slammed into the hardwood floor.
“Oh my god!” JJ shrieked.
“No, no, he’s fine,” Emily said. “Right, Spencer?”
Spencer pushed himself to sit up, his legs stretched out in front of him. “Uh,” he said. He rubbed his eyes. “That counts, right? You guys have to stop teasing me now.”
“Well, that wasn’t part of the deal,” Emily said. “You didn’t stick the landing, so I think we should compromise with one week of trig.”
“No, no, I remember, you specifically said if I made it to the bottom, you didn’t say anything about sticking the landing,” Spencer shot back.
Penelope slid her glasses back on. “You’re okay, right?” she said.
“Uh-huh, I’m fine,” Spencer said.
“So...can you get up?” Penelope asked.
He started to push himself up and immediately dropped back down. “I’ll get up in a second,” he said.
“No, I think I’d feel better if you got up now,” Penelope said.
Spencer fidgeted. “Just a second,” he said.
JJ leaned over the railing. “Is he okay?” she called.
“I’m fine!” he shouted back. “I just want to sit here for a little while!”
Emily walked over and bent over him. “Is there something you’re not telling us?” she asked. He shook his head. She held out her hand. “C’mon. You can do it.”
Spencer sighed heavily and took her hand. He raised himself up a few inches, then grabbed her wrist, pulling himself up with both hands. Emily caught his arm and he wobbled. “Thanks,” he said in a small voice. “I think I’m retiring from my career as a professional banister-slider.”
“Yeah, probably for the best,” she said. “You can let go of my hand now.” He obeyed and she pulled out her phone to check the time. “Hey, the dining hall just opened for lunch. You guys ready?”
This whole being in charge thing wasn’t too terrible. Saturdays were usually pretty quiet on campus already, and Hotch was off doing RA things (she didn’t press for details, it sounded boring) and the seniors were at an all-day college admission seminar. It was kind of nice to be in charge without them.
The dining hall was a ghost town, making it a lot easier to go down the line and make it to their table without having to fight a sea of other people. She plunked her tray down and paused. “Hey, are you not eating?” she asked.
Spencer was sitting in his usual seat, but he was unusually quiet. “I’m not very hungry,” he said.
“You need to eat something,” she said. “What do you want?”
He folded his arms on the table. “Nothing,” he said, resting his chin on his forearms. “I’m just not hungry.”
Emily patted his shoulder. “Are you okay?” she asked. “Does your stomach hurt?”
He rolled his shoulder, shaking off her hand. “No,” he said shortly. “I’m just not hungry.”
JJ dropped her tray next to Emily. “You’re not going to tell the others that I’m just eating cheetos and three chocolate pudding cups, right?” she asked.
Emily gestured towards her plate. “Not if you don’t tell them that I’m just eating muffins.”
“Deal.”
“So what’s the plan for movie night tonight?” Derek asked as he and Penelope took their seats.
“Not sure,” Emily said, tearing off a chunk of her blueberry muffin and popping it into her mouth. “Whose turn is it to pick?”
“Mine!” Penelope said. “I’m thinking something in the animated musical category.”
“You’re always thinking something in the animated musical category,” JJ said. She paused. “Spence, are you not going to eat anything?”
“Not hungry,” he mumbled into his folded arms.
“I think I might pick Cats Don’t Dance,” Penelope said. “It’s a classic. Underrated.”
“You say that about every movie you pick.”
Emily leaned over to Spencer as the other kids continued to bicker. “Hey,” she whispered. “You wanna tell me what’s going on?”
He turned his head so she could see one hazel eye. “Nothing’s going on,” he whispered back.
“Oh, yeah?” she said. “Then go get something to eat, okay? I don’t want Hotch and Alex finding out I didn’t feed you. I don’t care what it is, just eat something. Come on, let’s go.”
He sat up. “Please don’t make me,” he said.
“Why? What’s wrong?”
He bit his lip. “Nothing,” he said, and he pushed his chair back from the table. “I’ll be right back.” He got up and immediately fell back into his chair.
“Whoa, what was that?” Emily demanded. “Are you okay? What’s wrong?”
Spencer hunched in his chair. “It’s nothing,” he said again.
“I thought I heard a crack when you fell,” Penelope accused. “What did you do? Did you break something?”
Spencer shifted uncomfortably. “I just hit the ground a little funny,” he said. “Can you guys stop staring at me?”
Emily’s eyes narrowed. “Stand up,” she said.
Spencer scowled, slapped his palms down on the table, and forced himself up to his feet. “See?” he said. “I’m fine.”
“Let go of the table,” Emily said. He raised his hands in surrender and made a face at her. “Now take six steps that way.” Spencer swallowed hard and took a hesitant step. “That’s one. Keep going.”
He took another step, heavy and limping, and caught himself on the back of a chair. “Whoa, pretty boy,” Derek said.
Spencer leaned heavily on the chair, all of his weight on his right leg. “Was that six steps?” he asked.
“One and a half,” Emily said. “Spill, munchkin. What are you not telling us?”
Spencer flushed pink. “You said you would stop treating me like a baby!” he said. “It’s the whole reason I did this to myself!”
“Did what?”
“What did you do?”
He huffed loudly and dropped into the chair. “I just fell weird on my ankle, okay?” he said. “It’s not a big deal.”
Emily moved her chair around. “Which one?”
“...left.”
She beckoned and he reluctantly stretched out his leg, sliding down in his chair and gripping the side of the seat to keep his balance. “Holy shit, kiddo,” she said.
“What?” Derek said, standing up and craning his neck to get a better look.
“It’s nothing!” Spencer protested.
“Spence, your ankle is swollen,” Emily said. She loosened the laces of his left sneaker. His ankle had ballooned to twice its normal size. “Oh, fuck. Spencer, it might be broken.”
“What?” JJ demanded.
“Maybe it’s just sprained!” Spencer said. He gulped. “Although it’s sometimes possible that a clean break is easier to heal than a bad sprain…”
“Why would you share that? It’s not helpful!” Penelope said.
“I don’t know! I don’t know why I said that!”
“Yeah, that made it worse!”
“Okay, okay, you guys, cut it out,” Emily said. She pinched the bridge of her nose. “Oh, god, what am I gonna do with you?”
“Ha, you look like Hotch when you’re stressed,” Derek said.
“God, please don’t say that,” Emily said. “Okay. Spencer, we’re going to have to take you to the infirmary and get checked out.”
“No!” he protested.
“No buts,” Emily said firmly. “Let’s go. I will fucking carry you if I have to.”
“Should I text Hotch and Alex?” Penelope asked.
“No!” Emily said. “No, I’ve got it. I’ve got it.” She looked down at Spencer. “Unless you want me to text them?”
Spencer bit his lip. “No, it’s fine,” he said. “It’s not that bad- ow!” She caught him as he wobbled. “Okay, that hurt. That really, really hurt.”
“I’m texting them,” Penelope announced.
Emily bent over Spencer, wrapping her arms tight around him. “Okay, babe, one thing at a time,” she said. “Let’s get you to the infirmary. You want me to carry you?”
Spencer rubbed his eyes. “You’d better not drop me,” he said warily.
She only dropped him once.
After that, he insisted that it didn’t really hurt that bad, and he could probably make it if he just leaned on her. It was slow going to get to the school infirmary, and it was a huge relief to hand him over to the nurse practitioner.
It was touch and go for a moment as they debated if they needed to send him into town for X-rays at the local hospital (which really made Spencer upset) but after some deliberation and painful probing of his swollen ankle, they determined it was a bad sprain, but nothing broken. They wrapped up his ankle and sent him on his way with crutches, ice packs, and stern instructions to rest.
Derek and the girls were waiting on the front steps of Lincoln House. “What’s the verdict?” JJ called.
“Sprain,” Emily called back, keeping her pace slow as Spencer hobbled beside her on his crutches. “Is Hotch back from-”
Hotch opened the doors and stood on the steps, his arms crossed. “What did you do?” he demanded.
“He’s fine, don’t look at me like that,” Emily said.
“Yeah, she took care of me,” Spencer said, huffing with exertion as he wobbled on his crutches.
“You caused this in the first place,” Hotch said. He jogged down the steps. “They’re sure he doesn’t need to go to the emergency room?”
“No, no, I don’t, I’m okay,” Spencer insisted.
Hotch took his crutches from him and handed them to Emily, then scooped him up. “How do you make that look so easy?” Emily complained.
“Yeah, she dropped me,” Spencer said.
Hotch whipped around and glared at her. “You did what?”
“It’s fine, he didn’t land on his bad ankle!” Emily said. “I only dropped him a little bit. I’m closer to the ground than you are.”
“Jesus, Prentiss,” Hotch sighed. “
He carried Spencer inside and up the seven flights of stairs; Emily trailed behind him. “Really, Hotch, it was an accident,” she said. “And he’s fine, no harm done. Don’t murder me.”
“Oh, I don’t think you need to worry about me,” Hotch said. “Miller’s waiting upstairs.”
Emily swallowed hard.

Pokémon: the Vanguard Descends
Chapter 6 Ghost Town (cont.)
“What the heck?”, Misaki questioned, barely able to see.
Whatever it was, it was very cold so cold her she was stuck. She managed to press the button on the Poké ball throwing out Delphox. The fire at the end of Delphox’s stick was able to illuminate what Misaki was stuck to. It was someone frozen alive and turned into an ice sculpture. Misaki paled and Delphox gasped seeing the frozen person.
“M-mystic fire! Use mystic fire! Just enough to melt the ice!”, Misaki commanded.
Delphox obeyed, shooting fire from it’s stick in between Misaki and the sculpture.
“Hot! Hot!”, Misaki hissed.
She blew on her hand to cool it down a bit. The person was still frozen though a bit of water now leaked down from the statue where the attack was fired. Misaki looked around realizing there was more than one ice sculpture; there were several people frozen alive.
“A-ah crap!”, Misaki said looking around the ice sculptures with Delphox nervously trying to keep her nerves in check to see if Aichi or Kamui had been frozen as well.
“Frostlass? (Huh, don’t you wanna say with me?)”, a white Pokémon with a body like a yukata said.
“It’s a Frostlass, but could one Pokémon really do all of this?”, Misaki questioned.
“Frostlass. (Stay with me.)”, Frostlass said, preparing a ice attack.
“Delphox use Mystical Fire!”, Misaki ordered.
With Aichi…
Aichi walked around with Wingal on his shoulder looking around for Misaki and Kamui.
“Guys where are you?”, Aichi called out.
“Rockruff?! Rockruff?! (Hey, where are you guys?!)”, Wingal called out.
Aichi was barely able to make out a silhouette of what seemed to be a little girl holding a balloon.
“Hey, are you alright? Have you been separated from your parents because of this fog?”, Aichi asked.
The girl didn’t respond. Aichi raised his eyebrow a bit confused.
“Oh, maybe she’s scared?”, Aichi thought.
He looked over to see her face to face. He jumped as she had short red hair like his sister, but had purple eyes instead of blue.
“Will you help me find my brother?”, the little girl asked shakily.
Those words struck a chord with Aichi who put his hand over his heart thinking of his little sister.
“She seemed fine when I called her so...why do I feel like this?”, Aichi thought.
“Of course, I’ll help you find your brother. I’m actually looking for a few people myself right now. Maybe, we can find them together?”, Aichi agreed, holding the girl's hand to help her fear.
Aichi’s eyes widened a bit when he touched her hand.
“Rockruff? (Is something wrong?)”, Wingal asked.
Aichi looked to the girl wondering if it was just his imagination.
“Thank you, mister. Do you mind if I call you brother?”, she asked.
“Yeah...yeah…”, Aichi replied, raising his eyebrow in confusion at the sensation he was feeling when he touched her hand.
“Why does her hand feel like string? Is it just because of the balloon she’s holding? No. No. That’s not it I don’t feel a hand at all.”, Aichi thought as Wingal looked up to the balloon the girl was holding.
It was really hard to make out the details due to the fog. Wingal sniffed the balloon with confusion.
“Rockruff? Rockruff?! (Why does the balloon smell like...a Pokémon?!”, Wingal questioned before realizing something.
Aichi flinched, realizing the implications of what Wingal was saying.
“Then...that means this balloon is no balloon it’s-“, Aichi was saying looking up at the balloon before being interrupted.
“My brother didn’t want to float like me. Will you float brother?”, the girl asked as Aichi felt his feet lifting off the air.
“A Driftblum! W-Wingal use rock-”, Aichi gasped in fear as him and Wingal were lifted into the air continuously going higher and higher.
“N-No! Don’t use it! Don’t use it!”, Aichi said.
They eventually went above the fog and Aichi could clearly make out the purple balloon Pokémon. He could also see that it no longer appeared to be night like in the fog and it was actually more around dusk.
“Driftblum. (You’ll float too.)”, Driftblum said.
Aichi then saw the girl from before floating before him, but he now noticed she was transparent.
“Will you float with us brother?”, the girl asked.
“G-g-ghost!”, Aichi gasped.
“Rockruff! Rockruff! (Don’t look down!)”, Wingal said as it clutched onto Aichi’s jacket for dear life shaking like a leaf.
Aichi looked white as a sheet when more ghost kids appeared to chanting “you’ll float too”.
“Ah!!! How did it know I hate that movie!”, Aichi said shakily.
“Driftblum. Driftblum? (Of course I know. How else could I feed on your fear.)”, Driftblum said.
“D-Driftblum’s actually feed on fear?! Ahh!!!”, Aichi screamed, feeling like he was close to fainting as Driftblum laughed maniacally.
Elsewhere…
In a dark castle-like building cloaked men watched the three’s encounters with the ghost type Pokémon. Beside them was a short teen with short white hair and purple eyes. He wore a white dress shirt with a red A and a black tie. He had his hands in his pockets.
“Hmph. Why the heck is Ren so interested in this little twerp?”, the teen questioned.
“Should we stop the Drifblum? The other two don’t matter, but you said master Ren was interested in that blue haired boy.”, one of the cloaked figures asked.
“Whatever, just let the blubbering baby drop. He doesn’t seem too special.”, the teen said as he put out his thumb before turning it down.
With Misaki...
The mist on the ground started to clear up a bit. Misaki walked around with a few unfrozen people after knocking out the Frostlass and battling a few more along with Snowrunts. She could see Kamui who seemed to be in front of some fainted Yamasks. He had out Buster, Kaiser, Shout, Tough Boy, and Mr.Invincible.
“Ah, Misaki!? You were this close?”, Kamui questioned running up to Misaki.
The fog hadn’t completely evacuated, but it was much easier to see than before. They stopped as they heard screaming in the distance. They looked up paling to see a Driftblum taking someone away though they couldn’t get a good look at it.
With Aichi…
“Rockruff! Rockruff! (Please don’t faint, Aichi!)”, Wingal begged as Aichi continued to scream.
“We’re gonna die!”, Aichi panicked tears stinging his cheeks.
“Don’t worry brother you’ll become a ghost like us and you’ll float.”, the little ghost girl assured, which did absolutely nothing to stop Aichi’s screaming.
“Drifblum. (Time to float.)”, Driftblum said as Aichi even paler.
Aichi and Wingal screamed as Driftblum let go of them and they fell. Driftblum looked down at its two latest victims before looking up jumping shock.
“Huh? That’s strange. That was a bit too fast for how high up we are.”, Drifblum questioned as it saw Aichi floating with Wingal desperately clinging onto him.
Aichi’s head was down and his eyes shadowed.
“Drifblum. Drifblum. Drif-(Well, looks like we have a new kid n-)”, Drifblum was saying before being cut off.
“Oh...is that so? Who decided that?”, Aichi questioned his tone having completely changed, sounding deeper.
The ghost kids and Drifblum looked at Aichi in shock, suddenly realizing he wasn’t transparent. He hadn’t become a ghost yet he was floating in mid-air. Aichi looked up smirking, revealing a rainbow spiral in his eyes. A murky dark blue aura was surrounding him as well. The air around them felt heavy. Like they were suffocating even though they didn’t need to breathe.
Elsewhere…
“A-ah shit!”, the teen cursed, jumping suddenly understanding his master’s fascination.
The hooded men looked scared as well by this turn of events.
With Aichi...
“R-Rockruff? (A-Aichi?)”, Wingal questioned in shock.
Drifblum backed up nervously this kind of thing obviously never happening to it before.
“Now, answer me this. Do ghosts like you feel fear? Because if you do you're about to have a lot of it.”, Aichi taunted, pointing at Drifblum.
“So, you're a psychic huh? It’s the first time I picked up one of those. Not that it matters much after all psychic moves aren’t effective on ghost ty-“, Drifblum said before being cut off by a wave of psychic energy blowing it out of the sky.
“Who decided that?”, Aichi said as he descended down to where Drifblum fell.
Drifblum struggled to get up extremely injured.
“H-how?!”, Drifblum questioned shaking in fear.
“You know normally I wouldn’t like to hurt Pokémon this badly, but for...a true monster like you I’ll make an exception. You're already dead anyway.”, Aichi said, preparing to attack Drifblum again.
“R-Rockruff! (S-stop! Aichi!)”, Wingal yelled.
“Why?”, Aichi questioned with a snarl causing Wingal to flinch.
“Rockruff? Rockruff? Rockruff! Rockruff! (What’s going on with you? You're not normally like this! You're a kind person even to monsters like Drifblum!”, Wingal said with tears in its eyes looking at Aichi.
Aichi froze when hearing Wingal’s words. The rainbow spiral flashed in and out of his eyes.
“I-I!”, Aichi stuttered as he clutched his head screaming in pain.
It seemed like he was trying to fight something inside him. The aura seemed to flare up the more he tried to fight it.
“Don’t fight it! Embrace it!”, a voice in his head that sounded strangely similar to his own said as Aichi continued to struggle.
“N-no!”, Aichi refused screaming.
Misaki and Kamui finally made it over to Aichi seeing what’s happening.
“Aichi!”, they called out, running to him only to be knocked back by an invisible force.
“Just be quiet you! You always get us into these situations by doing things your way! It’s about time I-”, Aichi said seemingly arguing with himself.
“I-Is he being possessed?!”, Kamui questioned.
“Aichi you can’t let your power control you! You have to control it!”, Misaki shouted.
“M-Misaki I-I-Ahhh!!! It's...it's really hard!”, Aichi screamed as the dark aura around him seemed to get stronger not wanting to be contained anymore.
“If only Ahmes were here. I-I need to get his Poké ball. Crap! My body won’t listen to me!”, Aichi thought.
“You can do this Aichi! Remember we promised to defeat team Asteroid together!”, Kamui said hoping to get through to him.
“Rockruff! Rockruff! Rockruff! (I know the person who saved me is stronger than this! You have to fight it!)”, Wingal said.
Aichi felt tears stinging his eyes as he tried to fight it. His power just wouldn’t listen to him.
“R-Rockruff! Rockruff! Rockruff! (I’ll become stronger so you’ll never have to be like this again! Please Aichi!)”, Wingal pleaded.
“M-Misaki! Kamui! Wingal!”, Aichi thought as he felt his consciousness becoming heavy.
He was about to change again and he wasn’t sure if he’d turn back this time. He felt flashes coming to him.
“Wimpod! Wimpod! Wimpod! Wimpod! (Wow! I never thought I could do something like that trainers really are amazing!)”, Llew cheered jumping into the air with Aichi.
“Ralts! (Don’t be sad!)”, Ahmes said wiping away his tears.
“It’s fine I got other Pokémon. Besides I have a feeling that together the two of you will be able to get real strong.”, the young Kai replied, patting Aichi’s back.
“U-Umm I would like to battle you again someday if that’s alright.”, Aichi said.
“We’ll see…if our paths cross again.”, Kai replied simply.
“They definitely will become a great Pokémon trainer like you. The very best like no one ever was!”, Aichi replied.
“Llew...Ahmes...K-Kai! I-I don’t know if we’ll get to have that battle.”, Aichi thought.
As everything seemed to fade Aichi heard a loud roar.
“You can’t be lost here, you still have so much left to do.”, a voice said that sounded strangely familiar to him, but he couldn’t remember where.
Aichi felt himself start to relax and gain more consciousness. The dark aura evaporated from around him and he collapsed completely drained. He felt arms catch him as he fainted.
To be continued…

Paul Lahote Request
Such lovely wolf pack imagines make me want one of my own. Any chance I could get a Paul imagine with the reader being his girlfriend before he phases and he’s both terrified to see her yet desperate to know whether she could be his imprint or not. So he fights Sam’s alpha order to stay away, imprints on her, and maybe it ends in a little smutty scene as they reaffirm their love?
“You sure you don’t need me to take you home?” Paul wasn’t look good and you could see he was quickly getting worse. “I’d feel much better if I drove you home. You can come back and get your car later.”
“I’ll be fine.” Despite the sweat starting to trickle on his face he put on his jacket. “I’ll text you when I’m home, ok?”
“Please do.” You silently pleaded to him with your eyes. “Let me know if you need anything.”
“It’s probably just the flu, I’ll be fine. Promise.”
Those were the last words your boyfriend had said to you and that was nearly a 3 weeks ago. You had called, texted, even stopped by his house but hadn’t gotten ahold of him. You were at the point of being worried but also being pissed that he had pretty much ghosted you after 8 months together. “Paul, it’s me...again. Um, I guess this is the last message you’ll get from me. I’m not really sure what happened and why you’re avoiding me but I get it, you don’t want to see me. So, this is it. I hope you’re alright.” He could hear the pain in your voice and the weight of your message seeped in. You were going to leave him because you thought he was done with you.
“I need to go see her,” he told Paul. “She thinks I don’t want her anymore. I have to see her and tell her I still love her and that I’m ok.”
“You can’t, Paul. Not yet,” Sam spoke. “You don’t have full control over shifting yet and,” he trailed off.
“And what?”
“You don’t know what’ll happen if you see her. There’s a chance she won’t be your imprint. Will you still be able to love her if you know she’s not the one for you?”
“She is the one for me, I know it.” Despite the hope in his heart and the certainty in his voice there was still a part of him that was worried by what Sam said.
“Stay away from her,” Sam commanded and Paul left his wolf submit. “That’s final. She doesn’t deserve this.” Sam shifted and made his way into the woods, knowing Paul would listen to his command and follow. Paul felt the urge to shift and follow his Alpha, but he could feel himself struggling not to obey. He needed to see you. He needed to be with you. Painfully he forced himself away from the forest and started running to your house.
Before he knew it he was slowing down a stop in front of your house. You sat on the porch reading a book on the porch swing. He watched you as he stepped closer. You finally sensed someone was watching you and looked up. As soon as your eyes met his he felt like his heart was hooked to balloons that were taking flight. His heart soared and he knew that you were meant to be his. “Y/N,” he breathed.
“Paul,” you stood up and wrapped your jacket around you. “What are you doing here?”
“I had to see you.” You scoffed. “I know I’ve been MIA lately but I….I don’t know how to explain it right now.”
“Try.”
“I was sick and I got better. I had to make sure I didn’t see you until I knew I had me symptoms under control. I’ve got a little more muscle and hair since you last saw me too,” he smirked.
You smiled a little before hiding it. “I was worried about you,” you admitted. “I was worried something had happened to you. I was worried that you realized you didn’t want me anymore.”
He stormed up to you on the porch and held your face in his hands. “You are all I want,” he told you with a passion you had never heard before. His lips went to yours in a hurry and his arms wrapped around you protectively. You felt him lift you and you wrapped your legs around him and clasped your arms around him, trying to keep him near. He pulled away slightly and looked at your lips. “We should probably take this inside.”
You nodded. “You have a lot of making up to do.”

Hey!!! So I’ve been offline all day so idk if Jim day is still going on but uuhhh could you do 27 from the smut prompt?
Here you go my love! I hope you enjoy. 💕
Jim is sexy and he knows it. Contains some good fingering along with some semi-public sex and other juicy things.
Dom!Jim, mostly.
I don’t know Jim Mason, not really.
We go to school together but we have no classes together and we’ve never spoken. He’s with the Bay Boys, Jim wastes his life on pot, booze and bad decisions. But he’s hot as hell and Jim’s been watching me ever since we first caught each other’s eyes tonight.
House music pumps loudly from the speakers as I look round at the party. It’s already a mess, balloons have been placed around haphazardly and there’s a group of guys inhaling helium over by the bathroom.
Heather pushes a red cup into my hand, she’s hosting the party tonight and has been flitting around from guest to guest throughout the night. I wouldn’t have an issue with her hardly spending any time with me, expect that I only really know Heather here. I live on the other side of PV, so I’m only ever in the area when I’m at school. I don’t surf like everyone else in Palos Verdes and I don’t really have much of an interest in the sea either.
‘You need to stop standing in the corner like a Debbie Downer.’ Heather chides, tipping up my cup so I’ll drink again.
I take a drink of vodka and coke, ‘Kinda hard when you don’t know anyone.’ I say, my eyes flitting back to Jim. It’s as if he can feel my gaze every time I look in his direction, Jim meets my gaze again and raises his own cup in my direction, toasting me before turning back to his friends.
Heather catches my line of sight, ‘You like Jim.’ She guesses, her face lighting up.
She grabs my hand, ready to introduce me and I have to tug her back, ‘No you don’t. No playing matchmaker.’
‘You poor, naive child.’ Heather smirks, not giving in. ‘I know something you don’t.’ She’s starting to make a scene and I reason that it’s best to just go with Heather than have all these eyes on me, especially when the Bay Boys also start watching.
Heather smiles brightly, pulling me in front of her. ‘Boys, this is Y/N. She goes to school with us but she lives across town at Crystal Cove.’
Alex exchanges a look with Chad, ‘Well I for one have definitely seen you around.’ He holds his hand out for me and I catch sight of the blunt trapped between his fingers. Alex removes his hand, fumbling with the blunt and drops it on the floor, ‘Ah shit.’ He curses, fishing round to get it.
‘Idiot,’ Chad shakes his head at his stepbrother and shoots me a wink, ‘I’m Chad.’
My eyes fall back onto Jim. He teases me, his eyes taking in my little red dress. A little smile curves across his lips and his tongue darts out to wet them before he speak, ‘Jim.’
It’s simple and has me drawing a complete blank, ‘Uh.’
‘I thought you boys would look after Y/N here for me while I check upstairs.’ Heather informs them, ‘Just no drugs, Chad. I mean it.’
Chad smirks, ‘I don’t force them on anyone, Heather.’
“Bullshit.’ Alex coughs behind his hand. Chad knocks the freshly retrieved blunt out Alex’s hand, ‘Awww man.’
Jim watches his friends with mild amusement, but he keeps one eye on me at all times.
‘We’ll look after her.’ He promises Heather. She smiles warmly at Jim before disappearing into the crowds.
It dawns on me that I’m sitting with three of the rowdiest, rudest boys around PV and they are all eying me up like a piece of meat. Alex drags over a stool, ‘Come sit, we won’t bite.’
I pull my dress down over my thighs, regretting my choice to wear something so short. Chad’s eyes rove shamelessly over my flesh, Alex’s hand rests on the back of my stool.
        This isn’t good.
‘So what do you do for fun, Y/N?’ Chad asks, ‘You surf?’
‘No,’ I admit. ‘I don’t like swimming that much.’
That surprises all three boys, ‘How can you survive in PV not knowing how to swim?’ Jim asks, but there’s genuine curiosity in his voice. ‘When I was little I got stung by a jellyfish,’ I reveal. ‘I haven’t been in the sea since.’
‘Damn,’ Alex mutters. ‘That’s rough. Survivor though, I like that.’
Alex’s hand has started to inch closer to my thigh. I look to Jim before I can help myself and his eyes narrow at once. He pushes off from his seat, ‘Wanna grab another drink, Y/N?’ He asks and I’m grateful he got my cry for help.
‘Sounds good,’ I’m up before the other boys can protest. Jim takes my hand, leading me through the crowd of people and into the kitchen. The music is fainter in here, you can actually have a decent conversation without having to shout, ‘Thank you,’ I say when we reach the counter. My red cup is still full, as is Jim’s.
‘No worries.’ He offers me an easy smile, ‘Can’t have you feeling uncomfortable, and those two give us a bad enough rep as it is.’
Jim socialises so easily, he empties my red cup for me and fills it with Sprite, greeting the partygoers he knows and smiling at some of the girls who flash him flirtatious glances. I wrestle down my jealousy, I want this boy to have his focus on me. I reach over the countertop, Jim’s eyes following me.
I pick up Jim’s cup and take a sip, ‘I wouldn’t.’ Jim warns, but I’ve already taken a big gulp, the taste of beer hitting my tongue. He seems impressed, ‘Well, I didn’t expect that.’
I smile at his praise, ‘You think a girl can’t drink beer?’
‘No.’ He smirks, ‘I did think you were a Gin kinda girl though, I admit.’
‘Never judge a book.’ I remind him, taking another sip of Jim’s beer for emphasis.
His hand reaches out to take his cup back, I think Jim deliberately brushes his fingers against mine. Jim clocks my every reaction to him as he places his cup next to mine on the work surface. His voice drops low, his fingers ghosting under my chin and lifting my head up, ’I know you’ve been watching me.’
        Was I that obvious?
It’s as if I’d said the thought out loud, Jim chuckles. ‘You were kinda obvious.’ His fingers feel wonderful tracing down my skin, tickling slowly down my back. Jim pulls me into him, his eyes never leaving mine as he very gently presses a kiss to my neck, ‘Do you want me tonight?’
My mouth dips open, his very public advances leaving me shook, Jim’s lips hover over my skin waiting for a response, ‘Yes.’
He hums and presses another kiss slightly lower down, his eyes dropping down my cleavage, ‘Good.’ He murmurs, ‘I want you too.’
His words have my knees getting weak, Jim’s breath is warm as he swipes his tongue out to swipe a lick up the side of my throat. Someone giggles from nearby and Jim casts them a dark look. He takes my hand once more, heading for the hallway, ‘Let’s get out of here.’
I follow at once, adrenaline spiking at the idea of what’s to come, but Jim doesn’t leave like I expect us to. He pulls me upstairs, ‘You don’t wanna get out of here?’ I call over as the party fades to a dull backdrop compared to the sight of Jim Mason alone in the upstairs hallway with me.
‘Not yet.’ Jim smiles, opening the nearest bedroom. I don’t know what exactly happens, but there’s a scream and then Jim’s apologising profusely, ‘Sorry, Heather. Sorry! Lock your door, next time.’
I lean against the wall as Jim turns to face me again, surprisingly there’s no one else around but us. He checks the other two bedrooms but they too seem to be occupied or locked.
‘Well, we’re not getting a bedroom.’ Jim says, trying to decide what to do. He cocks his head to the side and grins cheekily at me, ‘So I guess here will have to do.’
He crashes his lips onto mine, Jim’s tongue slipping inside my mouth. I groan, gripping onto his collar as Jim’s hands roam all over me, sliding up my thighs and hiking my dress up around my waist.
        Is this really happening?
‘Jump,’ He whispers and I obey at once, Jim’s hands cupping under my ass as he presses me into the wall. I wrap my legs around him for better purchase as Jim attacks my neck again. I moan as he suckles a mark into my skin, ‘No hickies.’ I try and get out, but Jim’s determined to leave me covered in him.
‘You wanted to have me like this.’ He murmurs against my lips, ‘I could see it in your eyes. Begging me to fuck you.’
His words have already made a mess of me as Jim’s fingers dart into my underwear and gather some of my slick on his fingertip. I watch as he sucks off my arousal, humming low in his throat, ‘You taste so fucking good.’ His eyes find mine, ‘Do you want my fingers in your pretty cunt?’
I’m practically nodding my head off. I’ve wanted Jim ever since we started making eyes at each other. I’m lost in the headiness of everything, of Jim’s fingers working into my cunt as his praises drip into ears, ‘That’s it, God I can feel you seeping all over my fingers.’
‘Jim.’ I can barely even speak his name, Jim’s fingers curling and hitting my G-spot with every thrust. His fingers slither in and out of me, his palm rubbing against my clit as I try and hold myself up, my stomach muscles clenching from the effort. ‘We can’t do this…here.’ I force the words out of me, ‘Someone will see. We can go to my car.’
‘No, no baby.’ Jim coos, sucking another mark onto my neck. ‘We’re not leaving this party till you show me how much you want me.’
His thumb mashes against my clit and I cry out. Jim pulls my lips up to meet his, muffling the sounds I’m making.
‘Good girl,’ He praises, never ceasing his ministrations on my clit.
It’s becoming too much and I let out a squeal that has Jim groaning too, ‘Jim, I’m gonna cum.’
‘Do it.’ He urges, ‘Cum all over my fingers.’
The coil unfurls and I scream, loud enough that I’m certain the partygoers must be able to hear me, Heather definitely can.
‘That’s it,’ Jim praises, ‘My God, you’re so wet, dripping all over my hand.’
He keeps me up against the wall, but I’m boneless and can barely hold onto him any longer. He lets me down, my dress still hitched up round my waist.
Jim’s eyes fall upon the only door he hasn’t tried - the bathroom. He opens it and on finding it vacant, pulls me inside. ‘Thank God,’ I cry, I’m nowhere near done with Jim, but grateful we’re finally out of such a public view. I push Jim onto the toilet, working the zip of his jeans down, crashing our lips together. Jim helps me get them off, shoving his boxers down.
His cock springs up against his stomach as he pulls me over, rips off my knickers and helps me sink down on his length. We both groan out our satisfaction, Jim feels so damn good, so deep inside me.
‘Ride me.’ He begs, ‘Ride me, Y/N.’
I bounce up and down on Jim’s cock, never breaking eye-contact with him. It’s intimate and so fucking hot, Jim grunts every time I hit home his hips thrusting off the toilet seat as he tries to go as deep as he possibly can. ‘I’ve seen you in the hallways at school.’ He confesses, ‘Always wanted to speak to you. And then you were here in that tight, red fucking dress and I couldn’t not take my chance.’
‘I’m glad you did.’ I moan, circling my hips on Jim’s length.
‘Don’t stop.’ He pleads, ‘Wanna cum inside you.’
‘Cum for me, Jim. My savior tonight.’ I know I’m not going to cum again, but I want to feel Jim spurt inside me, feel his thick cum leak all out of me. Jim’s thrusts quicken, hitting up inside me at a lightning fast speed. His grunts have turned to whines, ‘Gonna give it all to you,’ He promises. ‘Everything I’ve got.’
His entire body trembles from the strength of his orgasm. I can feel Jim’s cum dripping out of me, watch it slide back down over his dick. It’s disgusting, yet I feel the tingles of a second orgasm gliding over me as I watch the trail of cum pool on his stomach. It’s much tamer than the first, but still just as pleasurable as I rest my forehead against Jim’s.
I’d never imagined I’d be fucking Jim Mason in my friends’ bathroom at her party, I never thought I could ever land Jim Mason to begin with.
‘Did I prove to you how much I want you?’ I ask, nuzzling my nose against his.
        Jim nods, ‘You certainly did.’
I lift myself off him, both of us groaning at the loss. Jim’s cum drips out onto the floor and we both watch it, my mouth drops open but Jim just collects some of our mingled cum and sucks it into his mouth, ‘So where’s your car?’ He asks, tucking his softening dick back into his boxers and locating his jeans. ‘Am I gonna have to hide you from prying eyes along the way?’
I blink, ‘You wanna come with me still?’
‘Of course.’ Jim pulls my dress down for me and smoothes my hair back into pace. ‘You think I’m the kinda guy to dump you after something like this?’ His fingers are gentle as he kisses me gently on the lips. It takes me by surprise, but I welcome his gentility after such a heated session, ‘I’m not letting you go any time soon.’ Jim reveals, his thumbs stroking my cheeks. His eyes are soft, all facade of coolness dropped as we let the afterglow start to wash over us, ’Not now and maybe not ever.’

Part 9: Mallory gets some answers
Author’s note: Consider this a a short interlude. A calm pause for Mallory and you to know that there is a plan. Destiny has a way of finding you. Prophecy is inevitable. :) :) :)
Tumblr media
“I’m so happy to see you.”
Mallory inspected the woman’s face, “Cordelia...” she muttered, as if to confirm it to herself, “I remember your name, but I don’t know why.”
She moved her hands to Mallory’s shoulders, eyes gleaming, “Hopefully we can fix that.”
She took another glance at her surroundings. Perhaps it was the lack of exposure to real sunlight or nature, but every sensation felt so....sharp. The warmth penetrated her chilled bones, and she realized how deathly cold the world had been since the bombs. The clean, calm scent of greenery and colorful flowers was overwhelming, cutting through the artificial life she’d existed in for so long.
“Where am I?”
Cordelia laughed, like the pleasant babbling of a brook, “I suppose this is what you would call Heaven. I sent you that message in the mirror, it’s a spell for descending into the underworld, though that’s a bit of a misnomer for this place. This is more like an above-world,” she stopped when she noticed Mallory’s dazed look, “I’m getting ahead of myself, I’m sorry,” she took her hands in hers, “It’s just seeing you here in front of me...” she sighed, “Well, come in and sit down. Would you like some tea?”
She answered eagerly, the prospect sounding amazing, “Yes, please.”
She followed the woman to the back of the greenhouse, a white wicker table and chairs awaiting in a shaded corner. Mallory sat as Cordelia took a porcelain tea set painted with pink flowers and began preparing the tea. Mallory sat back, taking a deep breath, the first in a while. She happened to look back over and see Cordelia staring at her as she placed her cup in front of her. She shook her head apologetically, “I’m sorry, I’m staring,” she took her own cup and settled into the other chair, “You’re just so beautiful.”
Her tone was oddly whimsical. Mallory just nodded, “Thank you.”
A long moment of silence passed, Cordelia took periodic sips from her cup, still...staring at Mallory with a soft smile. Despite having craved the drink when it was mentioned, Mallory kept it in her lap, hoping for some answers.
She cleared her throat, “Um, about my memory-“
“Yes, yes, absolutely,” she set the cup down and leaned forward, her fingers interlaced on her crossed legs, “I need to warn you, Mallory, I won’t be giving you...everything back. Meaning, you’ll remember enough to know who you are, but trying to cram everything you need to know in your mind immediately would be...catastrophic. Your mind is like a balloon filled with water, filled with entirely new experiences and memories after draining the old ones. We certainly don’t want it to pop.”
She indicated that she understood, the other woman motioned to the cup resting in her palm, “Drink your tea.”
Mallory pursed her lips and lifted the cup. She almost audibly gasped as the liquid splashed on her tongue; it tasted like citrus, leaving a delectable tang. It was probably the best thing she’d had since—
The experience of regaining her memory was like unraveling a thread in reverse, the string raveling back into a solid creation, different colored threads weaving back together into a tapestry. The hazy flashes of ghosts she’d seen at the Outpost became flesh and blood. The scenic white mansion nestled in New Orleans, the friends she knew and loved, the mentors who helped her hone her magic. A bespectacled redhead with a sharp tongue and expensive taste...Myrtle. A slim, charming brunette named...Zoe. A young African American woman, tough, outspoken, joyous...Queenie.
“My name is Mallory Church,” she repeated out loud as if to materialize the information, “I was a student at Miss Robacheaux’s Academy for Extraordinary Young Women,” she stopped as the image of Coco entered her mind; entirely different from the one she’d come to know, an insecure, but kind witch holding her hands as Cordelia told them they would carry on the coven, “Coco...”
Cordelia nodded, “That’s why you were so loyal, you were bound together with magic.”
Mallory was on the edge of her seat, her voice shaking, “I remember you. I remember everyone,” tears sprung to her eyes, “I failed, Cordelia, I couldn’t protect Coco. I-“
“None of that now,” she shushed her, gently caressing her face, “You are not to blame for what happened.”
“But why...how am I alive?”
“Don’t you remember? You’re special, Mallory,” her voice took on a fantastical quality, “And you have a glorious purpose.”
“Am I the...” the word felt strange to say, “next Supreme?”
“No,” she said simply, “you are so much more than that. Your destiny is bigger than the coven, bigger than anything you could imagine.” She leaned back, “But I don’t want to overwhelm you, I can tell how disoriented you’re already becoming,” she motioned towards the cup, “Drink some more tea, it should help soothe you.”
“What about Michael?”
Her smile disappeared, a dangerous flash in her eyes, “We will deal with Michael Langdon when the time comes. Please drink your tea.”
She obeyed, emptying the cup and setting back on the table. It was her turn to stare, emotion overtaking her as the happy moments at the academy flooded back in. The voided loneliness she’d known was becoming far more real than she could handle.
“I’ve missed you. I didn’t know it, but I missed all of you.”
“I know. Things are going to get better, Mallory,” she took her hand, “I promise. You have to return now, but know that I am always with you, you are never alone.”
They stood and shared a tight hug, the friendly aura revitalizing Mallory. She felt stronger, more calm.
She shot up from the ground with a gulp of air, having been thrown back into her physical body. Rhoda grabbed her shoulders, looking her over for wounds or abnormalities.
“Mallory! Are you ok?! What happened?!”
Mallory looked at her, a new sense of purpose filling her.
“I remember.”

It's after Leonard's “death,” The Legends have already told Barry about Len's sacrifice. But after Leonard comes back from the dead he comes up with the the bright idea to break into Barry's apartment and trick the speedster into thinking he's a ghost, just for the mere fact he's bored.
Sorry this is late as well, Nonnie!
Barry took three steps into the living room and came to a halt. Were it not for his speed-enhanced reflexes, he definitely would’ve dropped the glass of water he’d taken the trouble to get minutes before.
“Gotta say, Barry, I was expecting a bit more enthusiasm and less staring,” Leonard Snart said, his head turning to the side the longer Barry stayed put. He looked at ease, as always, lounging on Barry’s couch in his leather jacket and with his boots propped on his coffee table.
But it couldn’t be.
Ray’s melancholy tone nagged at the back of his mind, memories of he died a hero echoing in his ears.
Every impulse in Barry’s body hissed at him to touch, to make sure it was him, because it couldn’t be him. Rationally speaking, it just…it wasn’t possible.
Maybe he was still asleep. It was an idea both relieving and disappointing, but it’d happened before, who’s to say it wouldn’t happen again?
“What are you?” The question came out raw, far too quiet with only the kitchen light to see.
Snart - be him a ghost or a hallucination or a figment of his overactive imagination - chuckled. The sound made Barry’s heart squeeze tight in his chest, like a balloon on the verge of popping. He had to look away and swallow a lump forming in the base of his throat.
“A friendly spirit, I suppose.”
Dreaming, then. Either that or Barry had become a medium overnight. He stomped the hope that had started to swell inside him underfoot.
“Well, you’re a little late. He died months ago. Or, you died, I guess.” Barry rubbed at his eyes with one hand. He really ought to head to bed but his legs didn’t want to obey. “Either way, I’m talking to myself and I should go.”
Snart hummed. “Good point. After all, that insomnia won’t cure itself. When was the last time you chilled out, kid?”
Great. Even a hallucination of Snart had the man’s sense of humor. Was it better or worse to be scolded by a figment of his imagination about his lack of sleep?
“Doesn’t matter. We’re not having this conversation.” Barry turned to head back to bed, and forced himself to start walking. Maybe he should’ve taken Caitlin up on her offer of learning meditation to help with the restless nights he’d been having. This was a blatant sign from the universe, if nothing else, that he ought to have a good night’s rest.
“You’ve gotten less fun.” He fought the urge to groan as the sound of Snart’s voice followed him. Was it going to bother him all night? “I take it crime in Central’s only been worse while I’ve been away.”
Barry snorted and opened his bedroom door. “Something like that. Look, clearly I need to sleep, so can you just…I don’t know, leave?”
Another laugh, this time less sardonic than the first. Barry glanced behind him but Snart had his hand on the handle already so he didn’t fuss over closing the door. If hallucinations could even do that.
“How rude. And after I just got here.”
He pulled the worn t-shirt over his head and grimaced at how slick it’d become. He’d put it on only a couple hours before going to bed but with how he’d been tossing and turning all night, it was no wonder the shirt was soaked with sweat.
“You can leave as easily as you came. It’s not like you’re real,” he reminded Snart.
Barry could feel Snart’s gaze slid to his bare chest, tracing the lines of his back as he turned to throw the shirt in his hamper. Dream or not, the weight of his icy stare made something coiled around his insides loosen its grip for a few moments.
“Hm. Would be a shame, though. Came back to life and my own nemesis won’t talk to me for more than a minute.”
Barry shook his head, trying to shrug off the prickling behind his eyes. “‘Nemesis’? Really? We haven’t been enemies for a long - ”
The realization struck him like a bolt of lightning, an analogy he was acutely familiar with, and he cut himself off, sudden warmth worming its way through his bones.  Barry turned around with his heart in his throat.
Snart stared back expectantly, daring Barry to continue. If he didn’t know the man as well as he did after all this time, he would’ve missed the ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
Well, if he knew Snart as well as he claimed, he would’ve probably figured out the punchline the second Snart opened his mouth.
The laugh he let out verged on hysterical as he ran his hands through the back of his hair, gripping tufts of hair in an effort to ground himself against the wave of giddy hope that threatened to wash him out to sea. “You,” he choked out, his voice cracking, “are an asshole.”
Snart stepped closer, unabashedly scanning Barry’s half-naked form but he couldn’t find the will to be embarrassed. “Took you long enough, Scarlet.”
Maybe it was the lack of sleep or the sheer relief that twisted his judgment, but Barry could’ve sworn he heard a note of fond exasperation in his words.
Either way, Barry blamed the way he surged forward and seized the man by the front of his jacket entirely on sleep deprivation. The kiss that came after - well, that was on him.
It wasn’t as if Snart was complaining, though, if his hands on Barry’s hips, rubbing smooth circles against his skin as he shivered, and his tongue sliding alongside the seam of Barry’s lips were any indication. Snart chuckled against his mouth and adjusted the angle with a slow tilt of his head, deepening the kiss and earning him a quiet noise of surprise from Barry. The kiss tasted minty, like Snart had been chewing gum before he’d arrived, the delicious drag of their mouths against each other sending a thrill down Barry’s spine.
Even with his speed, it felt like hours before Barry finally broke away, unable to stifle his grin at the dark visceral want in Snart’s blue eyes. The sight was unfamiliar - and yet the sense of deja vu crept in like an old friend the more he looked over the other man. He was reminded eerily of the last time he’d seen Snart at Christmas; all he was missing were the parka and the cold gun to complete the memory.
“How are you even - ?” Barry ran his fingers over the dark jacket, reveling in the surreal feel of the thief’s heartbeat under his fingertips. “Did they have to mess with time to get you back?”
Snart inclined his head and smirked. His thumbs passed over the groove of Barry’s hip, featherlight and teasing, and it grew increasingly difficult not to pull him back into another kiss.
“No more than your usual exploits into the past. Though it was more of a solo effort this time.” One hand dipped lower down Barry’s hip, grazing his boxer-clad thigh, completely at odds with his cool tone. “But I do believe I heard you mention - multiple times, if I’m not mistaken - the prospect of sleep?”
Barry groaned and tried not to sway further into Snart’s space as the man stepped away. The absence of his hands was chilling, spreading goosebumps all over his skin. “You were the one convincing me you were some kind of ghost.”
“You’re sleep-deprived enough to believe anything right about now. I hardly think that’s my fault.”
Barry muttered an incoherent curse, which didn’t seem to help his case, but he allowed Snart to nudge him toward the bed. It was the middle of the night. He had work tomorrow and Iris had been planning on meeting him for coffee beforehand. Somehow he doubted explaining his reasoning behind rescheduling would not go over well: Hey, so, the not-so-dead Captain Cold broke into my apartment last night and I’ll be spending the rest of the day catching up and making out with him, sounds cool?
Yeah, no.
“Whatever you’re laughing about must be fascinating,” Snart said dryly, cocking a brow as Barry pulled himself onto the bed but didn’t get under the covers. Barry hadn’t realized his amusement was that visible. Then again, Snart did make it his job to read others like the back of his hand, so he couldn’t be too surprised.
The pit of his stomach fluttered as Snart made to leave. He caught Snart’s wrist before he could move far, an unexpected weight pressing on his chest. “Where are you going?”
Snart sent him a look and he felt much younger for an instant staring up at the thief. “I’d like to get a good night’s sleep as well, and you have a nice, comfortable couch out there.”
“I also have a big bed.”
Snart’s expression shifted quickly from unimpressed to something closer to uncertainty. “Can’t sleep with someone tossing and turning next to me.”
Barry tugged at his wrist with a gentle grip, not tight enough that Snart wouldn’t be able to yank himself away, trying to convey his plea through a soft smile. It should’ve felt weird, asking a supervillain to share the bed, but he was tired and while part of him didn’t want to subject Snart to the inevitable aftermath of Barry’s nightmares, the idea of sleeping alone again just…
His lungs were already constricting at the thought.
Whatever Snart saw on his face must’ve been enough because his shoulders dropped, just a little, and his fingers brushed Barry’s pulse point over his wrist, pressing lightly against the rapid-fire beat. This time he knew he couldn’t be imagining the flash of something much warmer than his usual cold sneer passing across his face.
“I suppose if someone has to ensure you stay put,” he said with a staged sigh, moving to divest himself of his jacket. “Wouldn’t want you to run out of steam, would we?”
Barry didn’t even mind the pun, already pushing himself up to make room as a yawn left his lips. He managed to pull the covers back over him as Snart turned off the light and shut the door, the clawed hands of sleep dragging him closer to the edge of the oncoming nightmares. He wasn’t sure if he dreamt the tender press against his shoulder blades as he slid under, but it brought a smile to his face anyway.

Love on Fire - Chapter 5
Shira stretched her arms above her head, sighing at the relaxing feeling. “I liked the temple and all, but it gave me a strange sense that we were being watched all the time!”
Toph chuckled. “We probably were being watched by the ghosts of those who lived there before us.”
This caused all the others to shiver at the prospect and Toph laughed, leaning back just like Shira was, “Don’t let it get to you.”
“Being on the run like this reminds me of old times,” Aang sighed, sipping on his soup.
“If you want it to be like old times, I could chase you around and try to capture you,” Zuko teased, smirking.
Sokka laughed, “Here’s to Zuko! Who, not long ago was hunting us down but today was our hero! You put Azula in her place!” “Also known as the side of a cliff?” Toph added.
Sokka rolled his eyes but the others noticed a smile on Zuko’s face, “Thanks. I don’t deserve this.” “Yeah, no kidding,” Katara hissed before getting up and walking off.
“What’s up with her?” Sokka asked in his high-pitched voice.
Zuko sighed as he got to his feet, “I wish I knew.” The boy walked off after Katara before Sokka whined again, “What’s up with him!?”
Aang’s grey eyes immediately glanced across the campfire to where Shira sat next to Toph…. And near where Zuko had sat a moment ago. A look of worry had crossed the girl’s face as she stared into the fireplace.
“I’m sure it’s nothing Shira,” the boy assured her. Shira smiled softly at Aang, but the smile didn’t erase the worry in her eyes, “It’s not Zuko and Katara I’m worried about. I know they’ll figure it out eventually.” “Then what is it?” Suki asked, biting into her bread.
Shira sighed and looked over at where Gau and Dagny were rolling around together a ways off. It had been a week since Sokka and Zuko had returned from the Boiling Rock with Katara and Sokka’s father, Suki and a third friend. About five days after they returned, Azula attacked the temple and they had to vacate but because Appa hated going underground, they split up. Shira had gone with Zuko, Aang, Katara, Toph, Suki and Sokka atop Appa, leaving Hakoda to lead all the others to safety through a back tunnel from the temple.
Of course, the dragons had come along, but Shira was beginning to wonder if they would attract attention since they were both now the size of small dogs now.
“As the Yin and Yang, Zuko and I were born for a reason,” Shira sighed. “Just like Aang was born to end this war and defeat the fire lord. The thing is… I almost wonder if because I am pregnant it will hinder whatever it is that I have to do.” All the kids present smiled and Toph placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, “I am sure that whatever you have to do will not be something you cannot do in the state you are in. If you had a reason for being born, then there is a reason you are carrying a child right now.”
“Of course, there is a reason Toph,” Sokka groaned. “It’s called reproduction! It’s when two people….” Suki cut the boy off by slapping her hand over his mouth, “Do not finish that sentence Sokka.” Shira sighed, burying her face in her hands, “I am also worried about Zuko.” “Zuko?” Aang asked. “He would be the last person I would think you would worry about. I know you two have a bond and you love each other but look at how Zuko totally kicked Azula’s butt yesterday! He can easily take care of himself.” “I’m not worried about him in the sense that I worry that he will be injured,” Shira pointed out, a little impatiently. “I know that eventually Zuko will be injured again and there is little I can do to prevent that in the future, but I am worried that he is going to stop me.” Silence followed this announcement before Toph spoke again.
“You’re worried he is going to hold you back from helping, just like he did yesterday….”
Flashback
“Get back!” Aang cried as he whipped his staff around, shutting the gates of the temple, putting some barrier between them and the attacking balloons.
Shira felt Toph tense next to her and when she looked at Toph, the girl had glanced upward. Shira followed suit and saw that the ceiling was beginning to crumble, chunks of rock beginning to fall down.
“Look out!” Toph cried, creating a roof over her and Shira to block a boulder that would have struck them.
The young earth bender rushed over to the wall furthest from the balloons and created a deep tunnel, “We can get out this way!” Shira saw more rocks coming down near her and she quickly lifted her arms, beginning to create an ice wall over her but before she could, she felt two arms wrap around her from behind and pull her out of the way.
“Be careful!” Zuko cried to her.
“I was fine,” Shira assured him. “I can take care of myself.” “I know that but not in your condition,” Zuko called back before he began to run for an opening in the wall. “Aang! Get them out of here! I’ll hold them off! Toph, watch over Shira!” Before Shira could argue with the boy, he had leapt through the whole in a flurry of flame. Shira felt a hand grip hers and she looked down to see Toph there.
“I know what you’re going to say,” Toph said, “I can sense it. I won’t protect you if you don’t want me to.”
Shira smiled, “I’ve got myself covered. You help get everyone out.” Toph nodded and hurried back to her work.
“He won’t budge!” Aang yelled. “Appa hates tunnels!” “We’ll have to fly him out,” Katara called, climbing up onto the saddle.
The others followed suit and Shira skipped herself up using an ice staircase before dissolving it. She sat down directly behind Aang who was steering Appa while the others climbed in the back. They flew out of the crumbling temple only to see Zuko and Azula standing on two separate ships, battling each other from that distance.
“Get in as close as you can!” Shira yelled over the wind to Aang.
The boy obeyed and swung Appa around as close as he could to Azula without getting too dangerously close to the balloons. Shira quickly climbed onto Appa’s head in front of Aang and began to concentrate her power on the balloon that Azula was on. A blast of pale blue light appeared from her fingers and struck the soft material of the balloon, ripping a hole in it.
“Swing around and get Zuko!” she called back to Aang.
The boy obeyed and Shira watched as they flew right beneath where Zuko and Azula were both falling. Katara reached out a hand and pulled Zuko into the saddle while Azula kept falling before she blasted herself closer to the cliff and clung to the rocks using her hair pin.
Shira sighed as Aang flew the bison out of range of the balloons. Shira turned around and began to climb back toward the saddle. She had just plopped in when Zuko spoke up.
“What. Were. You. Thinking!?”
Shira jumped at his stern voice. “I was helping!” “You could have gotten hurt!” Zuko snapped. “You told Aang to fly close enough to Azula for you to hit the balloon, but you were within her lightning range! Not only that, you were standing on Appa’s head! You could have fallen!” “I’m not a klutz Zuko!” Shira snapped back, getting angry. “Aang sits on Appa’s head all the time and he still hasn’t fallen to this day!” “He’s the avatar!” Zuko snapped. “He is an Airbender, so it won’t hurt him if he falls off! In your condition….” “IN MY CONDITION!?” Shira yelled, interrupting Zuko and making all the others jump at her tone. “In case you didn’t know Zuko, my condition happens to not be one where I am a set of breakable china! If anyone knows how to take care of myself, it would be me! I was thirteen freaking years old when I was thrown into a hell hole and I came out alive, the first person ever to survive that place! I lived on my own after that, I survived Azula’s lightning protecting you and I managed to not go insane in fire nation prison!”
“It is not the same,” Zuko said, his voice trying to remain calm but failing. “You’re pregnant and not only does it hinder your ability to protect yourself, but you are also vulnerable while trying to protect the child more than you. I know you Shira; you would rather put your life on the line than anyone else’s.” “In case you didn’t know genius,” Shira hissed. “If I die, so does the baby! Do you think I am trying to put myself in mortal danger!? I am trying to keep myself alive in order to keep OUR baby alive!? In case you didn’t know Zuko, but when you happen to be the guy to do the deed, the child that comes after just so happens to be YOUR CHILD!”
Zuko froze and the silence that followed was so dense that one could hear Sokka’s jaw making contact with the saddle. “You don’t think I know that?” Zuko asked, his voice soft but hurt.
Shira gritted her teeth, “No, I know for a fact that you know it. You just don’t seem to understand that the child is also mine. I am the one who is to carry this child for nine months on my own. I am the one who has to eat twice as much and take twice as many bathroom breaks to care for this child. I am the one who is being treated like a china doll because you think I’m breakable. I am the one who has to protect this child with my own flesh and blood. I am the one who was in prison for almost four months with this child growing in my womb. I am the one who kept myself from becoming insane or hysteric so as to prevent losing this child to a miscarriage. I am the one who is going to feel the pain of labor and the one who will be nursing this child almost until it is three years old. Don’t you ever question my ability to protect myself and our child again.”
Flashback end
Aang cringed at the memory, “Yeah…. That wasn’t the most pleasant debate that I have ever heard.”
“You both were pretty much jerks,” Sokka replied lazily but Suki slapped him over the head.
“Both of them were right though in their own way. Zuko is worried about Shira because that is just natural. He is going to be a father and because that is also on his conscience, he is double worried about Shira. This is his first time ever becoming a father and it is only natural that he wants to protect Shira but because of her condition, he is incredibly handsy and protective because he knows that while Shira has no problem protecting herself, he knows that she has put herself in dire situations before. The time when she protected him at the Agni Kai and the time, she got electrocuted by Azula. Because he knows that she has purposely placed herself in danger for others, he is trying to keep her from doing that because he knows that if anything happens to her, he will not only lose Shira but also lose the baby.” “What about Shira?” Toph argued. “She had a very valid point. She knows just as much as Zuko her vulnerable state, but she hasn’t put herself in danger so far, she has just protected herself if she happens to be in danger. She didn’t put herself beneath that rock in the temple but tried to avoid it… but Zuko intervened. She didn’t put herself in danger by protecting Zuko when he was fighting Azula, she was doing the most natural thing to her. She could have jumped down there and taking a blast for Zuko which would have been stupid and been fatal but instead she managed to protect him without hurting anyone.”
Shira sighed, getting to her feet, “I am going to go walk.”
Once she was gone, Sokka opened his mouth to ask what was up with her but Suki elbowed him before he could.
Shira had only been walking for about ten minutes before she sensed a presence behind her. She didn’t have to turn around to know who it was.
“I’m sorry about what happened yesterday,” Shira said calmly. “I didn’t mean to snap at you.”
“I started it,” Zuko replied, his voice indicating that he was about ten feet behind her. “I shouldn’t have questioned you or your judgement. Out of the two of us, you always knew the right thing to do.”
Shira relaxed her shoulders and the two were swallowed into silence. Suddenly Shira heard Zuko’s footsteps nearing until she felt his warm breath on the back of her neck as he stood directly behind her.
“I just…I know you want to feel responsible for protecting our child, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t want to protect it too… and it’s not because it is my child…. but because it is ours.” Zuko sighed and Shira felt the warm breath fan over her neck, and she felt her heartbeat quicken.
“Whenever I see you in danger or hurt, the first thing that comes to mind is how to fix it…. but the thing that follows directly afterwards is…. What am I going to do if fixing you won’t work? When you got hit by Azula back then, the first thing I thought was to give you to my uncle to try and fix you…. I knew he had more experience with lightning and burns than even I did…. But the moment he sent me away while he treated your injuries, I thought of what would happen if he wasn’t able to fix you…. If you never opened your eyes again. Back then, I hadn’t even told you how I felt for you… I hadn’t told you that I liked you even as Raven and even if you didn’t remember your past. I knew that if you didn’t survive that blow, I would have things unsaid for the rest of my life.” Shira bit her lip to try and keep tears from flowing but she knew she had failed when she felt one trickle down her cheek.
“But when I saw you on Appa…. Blowing up that balloon…. just close enough to where Azula could take you down in seconds… the first thing I thought of was that I hoped Katara’s healing would be enough to save you if you got hurt…. But almost immediately I thought of the baby. If you didn’t survive, would the baby survive? If it did, I would have something to remember you by, something to remember the love we share and the times we have had together. But if that baby didn’t survive as well as you, I know that I wouldn’t have been able to go on. I can’t lose you both Shira. I know it will hurt if we lose the baby and I know it will hurt like hell if I lose you…. But if I lose both of you, I feel like I’ll not only lose you…. But I’ll let you down.”
Shira felt Zuko slip his arms around her waist, hugging her to his chest while he buried his face in her shoulder, his body shaking from unshed tears.
“Don’t ask me to do that.” Shira gently peeled his arms from her before turning around to face him. She saw tears glistening in his eyes and she knew that he could see the tears trickling down her face. Reaching up, she cupped his face in her hands and pressed her forehead to his.
“Do you think I want you to lose either of us? I promise I will try harder to understand your protectiveness, but you have to trust that I am not doing things because I am disregarding my situation and our child. Believe me when I tell you that my situation and our child are the first things I think of when I choose to do something.” Zuko slowly nodded against her forehead before pressing a warm kiss to her lips. When they pulled away, he pressed a kiss to her forehead before drawing her head to his chest, cradling it there while he peppered kisses all over her hair.
“Don’t scare me like that again.”
Shira smiled and nodded but the smile faded when deep in her gut, she knew that she would have to make a choice that may or may not deeply wound the boy. A choice that she wished she didn’t have to make but she had no choice.
***************
“We’ll be back in a few days,” Zuko assured Shira. “it won’t be long.” Shira smiled, coming over to hug the boy, “I know you will. Just don’t do anything stupid, be safe and keep your ears warm.” “Now you’re starting to sound like my uncle,” Zuko teased, hugging the girl back and kissing her head.
Shira shrugged as she pulled away, “What can I say? He’s rubbed off on me.” Zuko chuckled before he got down on one knee in front of Shira and gently placed his forehead against her rounded belly.
“Take care of her while I’m gone, yeah?” he whispered, “I know you cannot do much now, just don’t give her a hard time especially at night. She likes to sleep you know.” Shira smiled fondly down at Zuko as he pressed a kiss to her belly before getting to his feet. Leaning down, he planted a warm kiss on her lips and one more on her forehead before he climbed up into the saddle with Katara.
Shira knew that there was no way she would be able to leave the camp even with Katara and Zuko gone. With Zuko having agreed to go with Katara to hunt down the man who killed her mother, Shira felt a little hopeful that her departure would be a breeze but of course she failed to remember that they had a blind earth bender in their midst who could hear things that people couldn’t even see.
“What are you doing?” Toph whispered, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
Shira sighed as she stuffed her other spare shirt into her bag, “I don’t have a choice Toph. I need to do this.”
“Is it that you need to do this, or you want to do this?” Toph inquired. “You forget that it was just yesterday evening that you and Zuko finally came to an agreement to not be overly protective and not overly picky about his being protective. Is it that you want to do this to prove that you are not fragile?” Shira paused, lacing up her boots. “No. I need to do this. I am already six months along Toph. I only have three months and if I know anything about my people is their uncanny characteristic to have their children sometimes even five months early. Of course, that is something I failed to mention to Zuko when we spoke of our people as kids…. Though I’m glad I did.” “Because he would have refused to leave with Katara if he had known that you could very well go into labor tonight.” Shira nodded, “I need answers Toph. I need to know before this baby is born what it is that I have to do. I need to know what my past lives did in order to fulfill their duties. I need to find out who was the last Yin and Yang.” “I thought it was the coyfish,” Toph pointed out.
“They were the last Yin and Yang recorded. The Yin and Yang of the generation between them and Zuko and I are still unknown.” “Couldn’t they be your parents?” Toph inquired.
“Then why was Zuko chose as the Yang?” Shira pointed out. “None of his ancestors were Yin and Yang but Yin and Yang are my past. They were my great-grandparents and grandparents. For all I know, they could be my parents but I need to know why Zuko was chosen, who were the Yin and Yang of the last generation and what it is I must do.” Toph sighed, sensing that Shira had finished packing and had slung her bag onto her back.
“You are leaving?” a soft voice asked and the two turned to find Aang standing there.
Shira nodded, “I have to.” “I would give you a ride on Appa to wherever you are going but Katara and Zuko happen to have him.” Shira smiled and shook her head, “I already have a ride.”
Almost immediately, Toph’s ear twitched and she turned to the forest nearby just as two figures emerged, one riding the other. A huge black horse trotted softly out of the woods with an all too familiar blond boy on his back.
Mitsuru and Hirako pulled to a stop in front of the three kids before Hirako dismounted and Mitsuru shifted to his human self.
“Sorry, but I had to bring Mitsuru along,” Hirako told his sister. “Nighttime is the one time I have trouble.” “Why?” Toph inquired.
“It’s dark and it makes it harder for me to see. I cannot very well hear,” Hirako replied. “So Azula was right when she said you were deaf,” the girl muttered.
Hirako grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck, “Yeah. Anyway, we had better go sis.” Shira nodded and turned to Aang and Toph. Quickly she gave them a hug before calling over Gau and Dagny. Mitsuru approached Aang and Toph, bowing his head to them.
“Thank you for taking care of our sister.”
The two kids nodded back before Mitsuru shifted. Hirako climbed onto him and held out his hand to his sister. Shira climbed up carefully to sit behind her brother, holding onto his shoulders while the dragons lifted to the skies.
“When Zuko comes back….” Shira muttered. “Please tell him…. You know…. I’m sorry and…. I’ll be alright.” Aang smiled and nodded, “I will.” With that, the three Trusang’s rode off into the night. Toph turned to Aang and tilted her head, “You do realize that Zuko isn’t going to take the news as easily as we did.” Aang sighed, rubbing his head, “That’s what I’m worried about.”
***********
Aang, Katara and Zuko climbed up the hill to where the camp was. Suki, Sokka and Toph had been preparing dinner when they saw them approaching and they all rushed over to say hi.
“How was the trip?” Sokka inquired, hugging his sister.
“Great,” Katara replied. “I needed it.” Suki walked over and hugged the girl as well while Sokka walked over and clapped Zuko on the shoulder, “Thanks for keeping an eye on my sister.” Zuko smiled and nodded, “Don’t worry about it. I hope you kept an eye on Shira for me.” Immediately, the whole group was swallowed into silence and Zuko looked around the group in confusion.
“What? Why do you guys look at me like you have just gone and murdered someone?” Katara looked around the camp, “Is it just me or is Shira not around?” Zuko suddenly looked around too, his face paling and worry working its way into his features. Turning to Sokka, he frowned, “Where is Shira?” “Uh…..well……I mean…… I don’t….. I have to rebuff in responding that inquiry as it is outside my capacity of audacity.”
“Wha….” Katara and Zuko both muttered.
“Zuko,” Aang sighed. “There is something I need to tell you.” Zuko turned to the boy, furrowing his brow, “What is it?” “Shira is not here,” the boy sighed. “She left the day you and Katara left… she left with her brothers.” “But why?!” Zuko insisted. “Why didn’t she even tell me!?” “She said she needed to find answers,” Toph replied. “She had to dig deep into her past to find some answers…. And she didn’t want you to worry about her or try to talk her out of it which is why she didn’t tell you.” Zuko scanned the camp, his lip beginning to tremble, “The dragons went with her?” The kids nodded and Zuko sighed, “That’s good…… wait….” Striding across the camp, Zuko stormed over to Shira’s tent and picked up her sword which was laying in front of the tent, “She left her sword…..” “She said she doesn’t need it where she is going,” Toph sighed.
“And where exactly is she going?” Zuko insisted.
The kids all shook their heads, none of them knowing. Zuko didn’t wait longer and stormed into Shira’s tent, closing the flap behind him.
Toph looked over at Aang and sighed, “You have a suspicion of where she is going don’t you?” Aang nodded, “The past.”
**************
“Psst,” Hirako whispered back to his sister. “Shira, wake up!” The girl whimpered as she slowly came to consciousness to see that over the course of the journey, she had changed places with Hirako so that she sat in front and she had dozed off in the safety of her younger brother’s arms.
From what she could see, they were standing on the edge of a small river that traveled straight to the right through what looked like a curtain of trees and leaves.
“What is it?” Shira asked. “Are we there yet?” Hirako smiled, “We’re almost home Yuyu. You need to change.” Shira frowned as she sat up fully to see that Hirako had lifted her from Mitsuru who had changed back human and was now pulling out a bag that he had hidden beneath a bush. He dumped the contents in front of Shira to reveal three pairs of clothes, one for Shira and the others for the two of them.
“Why didn’t you wear these when you came to get me all those times?” Shira asked as she went through her outfit and began to figure it out.
“They stand out because we are Nova, people of the stars.” Hirako explained, pulling off his old shirt and putting on his new one.
Soon Shira finished dressing and came out from behind the bushes to find that her outfit was identical to Mitsuru and Hirako’s, but feminine. The two boys smiled at their sister.
“I hope you’re up for a splash,” Hirako teased.
Taking his sister by the hand, Hirako led her to the edge of the river while Mitsuru took her other hand. Shira placed her foot on the water, and it froze, allowing them to walk across and down the river. When they reached the curtain of branches, Hirako lifted his hand and the branches moved for them.
Shira felt a gasp escape her as she looked upon her home…. The home she had left when she was a baby to hide in the North Pole…. The home of her people: Novah. Hundreds of trees the size of towers grew in a cluster, their thick leaves creating the world beneath them to be shrouded in semi darkness like the pale darkness that covers the world at dusk just before the sun fails and leaves it swallowed in darkness.
Around the base of each giant tree rose clusters of pointy roofed houses, tall triangle shaped windows making up most of the walls and each swallowed in pale golden light like fireflies in the dark. Weaving between all the trees was a massive river, bridges crossing over them every hundred meters, waterfalls crashing down beneath every few bridges.
“Welcome home sis,” Mitsuru whispered.
Her two brothers led her down the hill to the valley and onto the front porch of one of the houses. It was triangle shaped and the huge front window made up for the lack of walls and gentle golden light poured down on the front porch from the window.
The front door opened and out step the familiar tall, slender figure that Shira recognized immediately.
“KANAME!”
The girl rushed over to her brother and wrapped her arms around his abdomen (Which was as far as she could reach what with her rounding belly and short stature). Kaname chuckled and hugged the girl gently to him.
“We were expecting you,” Kaname said.
Shira paused before pulling away to look at her brother quizzically, “We?” Kaname nodded and turned to the side to reveal two characters standing in the doorway, their features shadowed by the light behind them. Shira squinted and as the figures stepped forward, her eyes widened.
“Mei! Ty Lee! But…. Zuko said….” “That Azula locked us up,” Mei finished. “Yeah he did but it seems that the fire nation has an increasing disability in keeping certain black cats from slipping in.” With that, the girl gave a deadpan glare over the girl’s shoulder and Shira knew that was where Mitsuru was standing.
“You should be thankful that I didn’t leave you there!” the boy pointed out angrily.
While the two began to growl at each other, Ty Lee hurried over to wrap her arms around the petite girl.
“I’m so glad that you managed to get out of prison Shira!” The girl squealed. “I was so worried about the baby….” “Wait….” Mitsuru spoke up, both he and Mei freezing in their argument. “You never told us that you knew about Shira being pregnant.”
“Ty Lee knows the human body,” Mei replied seriously. “Besides, all the signs were there and Shira also happened to tell us when we visited her in prison. How did you happen to know?”
Mitsuru shrugged, “You would be surprised how many things a wolf can tell just by smelling someone.” “EW!” The three girls cried and Kaname covered his mouth to hide his laugh.
“Alright, that is enough everyone. Let’s head inside before Mei’s soup goes cold.” “Like we would even eat it,” Mitsuru muttered under his breath and Mei slapped him over the head.
Hirako was already running inside, the smell of dinner having caught his attention before Kaname’s words. While Shira walked in behind Mei and Mitsuru who were still bickering, she glanced back to see Kaname offer his arm to Ty Lee who blushed deeply before shyly taking it.
*********
“I doubt there is much reason to ask why you are here,” Kaname said. “It is rather evident.” The group was sitting in the cozy living room. Four brown leather couches sat in a square pattern, so they were all sitting facing each other. Shira was sitting on a couch by herself, Ty Lee and Mei having propped her all over with pillows and covered her in a blanket, putting a cup of cocoa in her hands. Mei and Mitsuru happened to be sitting on the same couch surprisingly, poking at each other whenever the other wasn’t looking. Kaname was sitting across from Shira, still looking elegant even when sitting back on the couch, his arms folded in his lap. Hirako sat on the empty couch, still stuffing his mouth with dessert.
“I need answers… and I don’t know if there is any other way of finding them out unless I know the full history of the Yin and Yang.” “I thought you went to the spirit world,” Mitsuru spoke up. “Didn’t you see the whole history? You know… you said something about statues…” Shira nodded, “But the generation between Zuko and I and the coyfish Yin and Yang was missing.” “Missing?” Mitsuru spoke up. “Last Generation huh?”
Shira glanced over at her little brother, “What is it?” Mitsuru shrugged, sitting up straight, “I was just thinking about how if Shira wanted to know facts about the last generation, the Time Turning would help.” “YEAH!” Hirako cried, jumping to a sitting position. “The Time Turner!” Shira looked over at Kaname, “Time Turning?” Kaname nodded, “It was something created by the first Yin and Yang and mother knew about it. After you were placed in the Fire Nation and before mother died, she discovered the origin of the Time Turner. It gave the Yin and Yang the ability to visit and experience their past lives if it ever came to their need of knowledge from their past lives.” “Well that sounds like exactly what I need,” Shira said, sitting up but Mei quickly pushed her back down, covering her back up with another blanket.
“There is an itsy, bitsy problem though,” Hirako pointed out. “We have been unable to enter the Time Turner since mum found it.” “Duh,” Mitsuru groaned. “Because only the Yin or Yang can enter.” Silence followed before Hirako shrugged, “Oh, that makes sense.” Shira chuckled, pushing the blankets off her and sitting up straight. “So, where do I find this thing?” Mitsuru chuckled, getting up from the couch and walking to the front door, opening it and pointing directly out. “Walk through that wall of trees and you’ll find it.” Shira nodded, getting from the couch and walking over.
“Wait,” Mei remarked as Mitsuru walked back over to the couch and leant against the back of it, “You aren’t planning on going, now are you?” “I have to,” Shira replied. “Any day now Aang is going to prepare to take out the fire lord and knowing Zuko, he is going to look for Iroh and try to take out Azula. I need to know what it is that I have to do before then. I’ll be fine.” Mitsuru shrugged, “Just go already. We won’t miss you if you die!” Even though the boy was teasing, Mei punched him in the cheek and the two began arguing again. Shira looked over her shoulder at her brothers, Hirako having returned to his eating while Kaname had sneakily slipped an arm to lay on the back of the couch behind Ty Lee who was blushing so much she looked ready to pop.
Kaname gave her a thumbs up and Shira smiled.
“Go get em sis.”
