It appears the manic safetyism the left has mandated for the past 15 years has begun to harm their ability to report issues that generate the demand for said safetyism.

A shame, really. Media overrun by guardrails protecting people against threats that were so fleeting and phantasmal they were forgotten long ago, everyone forced to pretend that terms like "unalive" replaced "dead" organically, or at least for reasons understandable to someone, somewhere, who is not completely insane.

I saw a thing the other day--one of the slimiest forms of clickbait where someone re-posts a piece of social media on a different platform, from a bigger account, presumably reaping ad revenue off someone else's content. It was one of them "Am I the Asshole" threads from Reddit. Don't remember its content at all--those are mostly fake, anyway--but it stood out to me because the word "Control" had been censored in the headline and throughout the piece. Apparently that's bad brand association, gives people the ick in regards to whatever Chinese boner pills or Keto supplements or knockoff contraceptive devices need to be sold to keep the internet functioning.

That got me thinking about all the times you'll see a video that contains naughty words that are spoken clearly in the audio but replaced with asterisks in the captioning. I had presumed this was a simple extension of trigger warnings, people wanting to avoid getting yelled at or having their accounts suspended. It's just "being a decent fucking person," after all. Any psychologist will tell you that the profound trauma survivors suffer upon seeing the word rape in print goes away entirely if the word is spelled r*pe. Words are violence, after all. They cause hurt to vulnerable folx. Do you want to be violent? Do you realize how many people you're killing every time you speak? Just do what what we tell you, obey our ever-increasing slew of incessantly weird and petty linguistic mandates or else I'll call your boss, tell your teachers, get you fired, put you in prison, etc etc.

But taking away ad revenue? Oh no, oh shit, that's a bridge too far! Won't someone think of the click merchants?!? Weep for all the important stories that shall no longer be profitably told--the trans influencers changing our perception about public architecture through dance poetry, the brave women exposing the inherent sexism within Behtesda, Maryland public sanitation department, the bold new Alf conspiracy theory that's drivin' fans insane, the development of 6 new cocktails inspired by the third season of HBO's Arli$... all gone, beaten, washed away like tears in the rain...

VILLAINS OF THE FRUITY KINGDOM

Introduction

This is the story of an unknown universe where humanoid fruits live. Unfortunately, 9 demons have taken an interest in their little world. Before that Universe was created, God decided that she wanted to create someone to be its protector, and ensure that no evil would come and destroy it. A beautiful baby girl was born among the stars during an Eclipse. She was made to be the protector of the Universe, but something was wrong. She wouldn’t wake up, so God decided to put her away in a safe place that only she could find. After 1,000 years of waiting, God created the world, and made a different version of her daughter to be the protector of this Unknown Universe. As soon as that girl, VannaCantaloupe, was born, the Eclipse finally awakened from her sleep.

   9 seeds were planted in each circle of Hell, and from them, strange trees started to grow rapidly. Millions of demons were born, clawing their way out of the trees. Not all of them were made the same, though. After the rest had been released into Hell, special kinds of demons were coming out of the ground. Unlike the other demons, 9 of them were born at that time with a symbol. 

Lucifer, King of Inferno, appointed one of those 9 demons to rule each circle. It was fun for them, for a while. They were The Third Eye, queen of the 1st circle of Limbo; Nyx, queen of the 2nd circle of Lust; Jezebel, queen of the 3rd circle of Gluttony; The Ouroboros, queen of the circle of Greed; Bellona, queen of the 5th circle of Anger; Choronzon, queen of the 6th circle of Heresy; Ashtaroth, queen of the circle of Violence; Dante, prince of the 8th circle of Fraud; and Pentagram, queen of the 9th circle of Treachery. Of them, The Third Eye was the most unique. She was a shadowy spirit whose full form was split across multiple bodies. Half of her, notably, was inside of VannaCantaloupe. After thousands of years, though, they started to grow tired of listening and obeying Lucifer’s every word, and began making plans of rebellion.

 Prologue - The Unknown Timeline 

In the 5th circle of Inferno, Lucosia, a siren demon, was born. She was a seer who could peer into multiple futures and realities. One day, she met Dante, one of the Symbols of Hell. They formed a close relationship. Lucosia had a strong vision of a future in which Lucifer, the king of all demons, died, which was something that she didn’t know was possible. She was one of the only demons with the power to see such a future, so he monitored her closely in order to keep a tight grip on his throne. She knew that when he found out, he would kill her, and that she had no chance of fighting against him.  

Her first thought was to tell Dante about what was going to happen to her. She told him that he would not see her again. Then, she went back to her home and waited for her fate to take her. Dante was furious about her death, but he couldn’t fight Lucifer, either, so he kept to himself for many years.

 At that time, Lucosia was reborn as a mermaid in the alternate dimension to the living world, of which there was only one. She was named VannaSeaSalt. She retained her psychic powers, which gave her vague, blurred visions of her past that were out of her control. She was able to see into the unknown universe that God created first. There, she saw a melon girl, VannaCantaloupe, living her life to the fullest on her melon throne. But then, she was being tormented by a lemon girl. The summer went by and faded into autumn. They summoned a demon girl who lent them her powers, which they used to fight each other. While they were fighting each other, the Nine Symbol Demons were watching, because they had noticed the strong pulse of demonic energy in the living world. 

Vanna was about to lose the fight, but when she was knocked down for the final time, the power of The Third Eye awoke inside of her and took over her body. She fully possessed Vanna and transformed her body into her physical form. She then fought the lemon girl, who tried and failed to escape. The Third Eye ended the fight by biting her face off.  After she killed her, the other Symbol Demons came to the living world and started to cause pure destruction and chaos. They tried to take over the Earth and make it their own personal Inferno that only they could rule, free of Lucifer’s influence. 

VannaSeaSalt and her salty clone SeaPearl brought their mermaid and siren warriors to that world in an attempt to stop the Symbol Demons. They split up and fought the demons one by one. SeaSalt was running towards the epicenter of the destruction, but Dante caught up to her and stopped her. She was prepared to fight him, but he didn’t want to. He only wanted to talk. This confused her a lot, so she decided to listen to what he had to say. He told her that there was a spell that could destroy him and the others, but that this universe would be destroyed with it. Seasalt asked why he was trying to help her. He only said that she reminds him of an “old friend” and that he senses that her abilities are incredibly similar to a demon. He decided to be honest with her then. He explained that he didn’t care about taking over the earth, but was only doing this to please his mother, Pentagram. The death of his friend Lucosia wounded him deeply, and he couldn’t live with himself and the guilt of not doing anything sooner. SeaSalt felt sorry for him, so she agreed to put an end to the destruction and his suffering. She went back and called SeaPearl and their army. SeaSalt explained how to perform the spell, which only her and SeaPearl could use. 

Then, the Nine Marks of Inferno appeared, floating in the air. The mermaid and siren warriors stood in a circle around SeaSalt and SeaPearl, and the both of them cast the spell together. When the spell was complete, a bright, white light expanded outward, growing until it consumed the universe and burned it all away. 

The nine demons were killed, but so was everyone else in that world. The universe exploded and shattered into a multiverse of different worlds. The souls of SeaSalt and SeaPearl’s army went back to their own piece of the multiverse, later known as the Salty dimension. Although the bodies of the Nine Marks were destroyed, Lucifer blocked their souls from going back to Inferno. They had to find somewhere else to be reborn instead. Most of them went to the same universe, the one that was the most similar to the original world. God had decided to make another protector of the universe, since VannaEclipse had yet to reawaken, and this was the world that she put her in. Dante rejoined the living world, but was unable to reincarnate completely for a few years. His second life was that of a demon girl who was very rebellious and very powerful - almost as powerful as Lucifer himself - but who did not bear his symbol. Ashtaroth, the Ouroboros, and Jezebel all went to separate worlds entirely. It would not be long before all of them found each other in the multiverse once more and regained their original power.

The Third Strand

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12NIV

For years, I’ve been warning in various ways of difficult times coming. (I believe we’re about there.) A secondary drum I’ve been beating is— don’t be a lone Christian. Satan is out to eat us alive. We need each other. With the weirdest Presidency, following a fake election, laws and executive orders meant to destroy our nation, it’s time for Believers to come together en masse and exercise our authority. “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” Matthew 28:18NIV

Do we realize our Christ-given authority? Look at Luke 9:1HCSB “Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.” When Jesus gave this authority over devils and diseases to His disciples, He didn’t put a time limit on their use of power and authority.

There’s no scripture where Jesus rescinded His authority transfer. John 14:12NIV “…whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” Hence, we have all the power and authority of the original twelve disciples at our disposal.

Lou’s favorite motto is: ‘Be prepared.’ This motto is so appropriate in this time of attempted communist takeover, civil unrest and unprecedented evil— it’s time to circle the wagons and obey all of God’s instructions. ***Put on the whole armor of God— “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11ESV. ***Find prayer partners, someone like-minded who agrees with you— “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Amos 3:3KJV. For where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:19-20ESV ***Repent for known sins and pray—“…humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways.” 2 Chronicles 7:14KJV ***Pray for every government official, (even Biden, Pelosi and Schumer)— “I urge…that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1Timothy 2:1-2GNT “The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; He guides it wherever He pleases.” Proverbs 21:1NLT We may ask God to overrule the demonic leaders’ authority with laws good for us. ***Begin to pray in agreement with heaven— “Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven ….if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:18-19AMP Know what God allows and doesn’t allow in heaven.

The third strand is God joining with our authority to begin calling —God’s kingdom and God’s peace into rulership over our nation, and over all situations: —Halt and cast out every Jezebel spirit, spirits of jealousy, division, murder, strife and greed from operating here in our nation. —Stand our spiritual ground in demanding change. Are we able to walk together? Please join me? It’s your choice. You choose.

LET’S PRAY: Lord God I choose to walk in the authority You’ve given. Help others join in with this choice making it a reality, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

You see beloved, there was really no need to seek a [National] Prophet in the first place because the word of the Lord itself is Prophetic all through.

“All the CURSES [and blessings] written in the BOOK” had been written long ago by God, through Moses [a Prophet of God].

Curses written for about a thousand years were about to be fulfilled because they contravened the sacred Laws.

Many terrible things happening to people today are consequences resulting from related offenses against divine Laws.

How will people know if they won’t read it?

Psa 119:9 HOW CAN A YOUNG MAN STAY PURE? ONLY BY LIVING IN THE WORD OF GOD AND WALKING IN ITS TRUTH. TPT

Psa 119:11 I consider your prophecies to be my greatest treasure, and I MEMORIZE THEM AND WRITE THEM ON MY HEART TO KEEP ME FROM COMMITTING SIN’S TREASON AGAINST YOU. TPT

To avoid destructive judgments, how will men keep the word of Prophecy in their hearts if that word is not accessible or covered up somewhere?

Do you see how satan brings men to ruins? Simply by “influencing” compromising Minister to keep the word covered from men.

Mat 23:15 “Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! YOU CROSS LAND AND SEA TO MAKE ONE CONVERT, AND WHEN YOU GET ONE, YOU MAKE HIM TWICE AS MUCH A CHILD OF HELL AS YOURSELVES! NET

People with numerous spiritual illnesses flood the church, but instead of focus on messages of righteousness, the Cross and becoming like Jesus, we talk about the cares of life, and so, they become worse; flooded with covetousness and worldliness, and mounting up more curses for all their iniquities, which are left uncleansed.

The Judgment thence takes effect at an appointed time.

Rev 2:20-22 But I have a few things against you, because you allow the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, TO TEACH AND TO SEDUCE MY SERVANTS INTO COMMITTING FORNICATION AND EATING THINGS SACRIFICED TO IDOLS. AND I GAVE HER TIME TO REPENT OF HER FORNICATION, BUT SHE DID NOT REPENT. Beloved friends, most of God’s Judgments take this route: people are steeped in sinfulness, yet someone leads them into more sins through Idolatry, they do nothing about it and ignore God, then it becomes too late to placate the situation or appease God.

Ignorance is no excuse at all.

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. BECAUSE YOU HAVE REJECTED KNOWLEDGE, I will also reject you from being priest to Me. SINCE YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN THE LAW OF YOUR GOD, I will also forget your sons, even I. MKJV

Now, even if the wicked Ministers cover the LAW, why would people join the Church and not expect there to be Laws of Dos & Don’ts?

Why do people expect the church to be a place of free and flagrant behaviour without reprimand?

Why should mercy cover deliberate sinfulness?

Heb 10:26-27 FOR IF WE CONTINUE TO PERSIST IN DELIBERATE SIN after we have known and received the truth, there is not another sacrifice for sin to be made for us. BUT THIS WOULD QUALIFY ONE FOR THE CERTAIN, TERRIFYING EXPECTATION OF JUDGMENT AND THE RAGING FIRE READY TO BURN UP HIS ENEMIES! TPT

It is even an insult to expect that Jesus’ death on the Cross or His Grace, will cover “anyhow sin”.

Who does that?

Can any of us set up a business and allow anybody (staff & Customers) to do whatever they liked with our “Products” without reprimand?

What kind of wickedness is that?

Eze 18:20 THE PERSON WHO SINS WILL DIE. A son will not be punished for his father's sins, and a father will not be punished for his son's sins. The righteousness of the righteous person will be his own, and THE WICKEDNESS OF THE WICKED PERSON WILL BE HIS OWN. GW

Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. - Revelation 2:20‭-‬22

We can't dictate how we want to be used by God. . . All we can do is obey him. When one said to another go elsewhere and speak God's words because your words aren't welcomed here, he had a certain response:

Then Amaziah said to Amos: “Go, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah. There eat bread, And there prophesy. But never again prophesy at Bethel, For it is the king’s sanctuary, And it is the royal residence.” Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah: “I was no prophet, Nor was I a son of a prophet, But I was a sheepbreeder And a tender of sycamore fruit. Then the Lord took me as I followed the flock, And the Lord said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’ - Amos 7:12‭-‬15

God holds both the offender accountable, the one or persons who's actually committing sin and wickedness and, in the church, he even holds those accountable who permits or tolerates them who's doing such wicked, nefarious acts in authority. One can read on Jezebel starting in I Kings 19 to identify what's the Jezebel spirit, which is false, worldly teaching, manipulation of persons (extortioners, bribers, witchcraft - controlling spirits) and murder (reviling, railers, slanderers, or literal) in the church. God holds those who even permits such ones who do such acts of wickedness in the church accountable also, and he even tells them to repent (Revelation 2:16, 22).

It's not scriptural to just pray 🙏 for these in authority in such instances (you won't find that in the word). God wants us to rectify (Matthew 18:15-17; I Timothy 5:19-20) or flee from situations as those (I Corinthians 5:11,13; I Timothy 6:3-5; Romans 16:17-18; II Timothy 3:1-5).

Take heed to who and what you're suffering (allowing or permitting) in the church, for God even holds them accountable who do so.

We was asked to write down our narrative on a piece of paper and swap with our partner so we had each others narrative. We then wrote down our ideas that came to mind related to their narrative, in order to help them with new ideas they may not have thought of or knew about. I really enjoyed this task as it helped me learn new facts about the petite world and I was able to complete lots of research. I always loved hearing about my peers narratives and their stories as to why they are focusing on a certain topic.

Petite models - 

After researching about types of work available for petite models I found out that other than Moss, most petite models do commercial and catalogue work. Models who work in fashion generally work with high street brands specialising in petite clothing. It is very rare for a petite model to find high-fashion work on the catwalk or for designer labels. This is something that I find unfair as your height should not matter. However, petite models are not restricted when finding work. This is due to an increase in brands catering for men and women with smaller frames and shorter legs, petite models are now employed to keep up with this fashion industry demand. 

Successful petite models - 

Models who have refused to obey the stereotypical image associated with top designers, catwalks and campaigns are creating a path for petite models. These inspiring successful models have completely ignored the height restriction demonstrating that a smaller stature is required in the fashion industry. “Successful petite models are making an impact in a tall girls stomping ground, ignoring the confinements set upon them.” 

Twiggy -

A british icon in the sixties and only 5″4. She revolutionised the stereotypical look of the era, starting a new breed of supermodels. Her height is rarely mentioned due to her confident persona that demands attention. She is still the shortest model with such a supermodel status.

Russian-Australian model, her impressive range of work includes, Vogue, Marie Claire, Urban Outfitters and French Connection. At 5″4 her height is not an issue with each shot demanding attention with her striking features, blonde hairs and natural posing instincts. The successful model discovered in a melbourne hair salon has received lots of rejection in her career, but she continues to break boundaries in a predominantly tall industry. 

She explains: “People in Australia don’t accept shorter girls because they are a bit harder to work with, you have to photograph them in a certain way.”

How to make the most of your petite frame - 

Don’t draw attention to your shorter height when interacting with clients and via body language. You will have to work extra hard to get noticed, which means standing tall and learning to highlight your height in photos. Never be caught slouching and be sure to work on poses that lengthen your lines. Good posture and strong stature goes a long way when presenting yourself to an agency meeting and photoshoot.

The ‘Size 0′ movement

Sizes range from 0-2 which is extra small to 14-16 which is larger. Smaller sizes are usually petites, and larger sizes usually found in womens or plus size departments. 

The size-zero ban is proof fashion industry on finally listening to customers. The use of size zero models has been a fashion industry scandal for many years. France’s top fashion house have committed to stop underage and size zero models from featuring in catwalk shows and advertising campaigns. Owners of brands such as Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton say they want to persuade others in the industry to follow suit. The industry has long been accused of promoting unhealthy body images of women and ignoring well-documented health problems experienced by models. In 2017, the French government voted through a law requiring models must have a medical certificate confirming they were not dangerously underweight. 

“No model under 16 years will be recruited to take part in fashion shows or photographic sessions representing adults.” Models between 16-18 years will no longer be allowed to work between 11pm and 6am and must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone if required to stay away from home. 

“The wellbeing of our models is a fundamental subject” the statement from LVMH read. 

Mallory Schlossberg - “I’m part of a huge demographic that retailers largely ignore - here’s why it’s so frustrating” 

When reading this article I very much related myself to it, she mentions being reminded of her height near enough everyday, she is 4″11 like me. “There are only a few times when I'm reminded how short I am: when I'm riding the subway and someone pushes right into me because I'm not in his peripheral vision, when I can't reach my kitchen cabinets and hop onto the counter, and when I'm shopping.” 

When she was in high school and college she frequently shopped in the kids section. She mentioned it being impressive to see the selection that’s available for wealthy, stylish kids these days. She is able to wear a lot of designer apparel that are much cheaper than adult prices as kids clothes takes less fabric to make. However, it comes to a point in an adult woman's life where you do not want to shop in kids section anymore, she wanted to wear apparel for women because she is a woman. Adult size small dresses zip up just fine, but they hug in all the wrong places and drag on the ground or are longer fit on her than they’re supposed to be. 

“It's frustrating. How do you shop for clothes and not look like a child in children's clothing — or a child playing dress up in her mother's closet?”

There are retailers that do cater to petite women although the ranges are very limited. 

“Walk into Ann Taylor, Loft (where I buy my jeans), J. Crew, Banana Republic, or a department store, and you'll see selections of petite clothing, often relegated to a small corner with an odd amalgam of apparel, as though the merchandise team is wondering, "who is this petite woman? Is she a mother? Is she frumpy? Is she a decaying 90-year-old? Is she youthful and feisty? Is she too young to show off her curves? Is she a virgin?" The answer  — from a petite woman — is that she is none of the above, and she is all of the above. The petite woman is just like the regular-sized customer...only shorter.”

Retailers seem very confused with how to deal with short women. Topshop and Anthropologie are starting to recognise that short women like to look fashionable too, but the lack of options and concern for petite shoppers is noticeable. The reason as to why there are fewer petite options and not all stores offer apparel for smaller-framed women is because it requires a different design pattern. 

As blogger TanyaTheAnonymousModel wrote on Jezebel:

"For a dress to look the same on a petite woman, a standard size woman and a plus woman — for the hem to hit at the same place on each woman's leg, for the waist to sit at the appropriate height, for the neckline to flatter but not overexpose, for the pockets to be useful, easily reached, and neither too small nor too big — requires, in effect, three totally different paper patterns, each with a separate, and expensive, development process."

The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City offers a continuing education course in image consulting, combining petite and plus size bodies together as "special size" customers — noting that they make up about a tremendous amount of the population. The course description reads as follows:

"Over 70 million U.S. women fall into the special size category, that 50 % of the population is actually under 5'4", and 65 million women are considered plus size. Designers, patternmakers, retailers, stylists, and image consultants, and wardrobe technicians can all benefit from this in-depth workshop that demystifies the special size business potential. Learn the facts behind the figures with practical information for fulfilling the expectations of the special size customer with proper fit, fashion, and service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to increase sales and services. Interact with our two industry experts as they each tackle the dilemmas facing both the petite and plus-size customer and give concrete directions for satisfying their shopping needs and fashion passions."

An undergraduate course "sketching for fashion designers" mentions that "Large, half-size, petite, and junior-size figures are featured to study proportions used in the industry". Showing petites aren't entirely ignored in design school, they just aren't given equal attention. They're generally not on runways; runways are about aspiration, and who aspires to be 5'2''?

“Petite women have not been celebrated loudly as equals. They have not been given body-positive model icons to speak on their behalf, although we do have Kelly Ripa, Snooki, and Kim Kardashian in our corner. There has not been a call to action. There hasn't been any real vocal repugnance, but instead, there's been a silence and a void, which is too telling. Petite women have been pushed aside, not permitted to speak — much like the children for which many try not to be mistaken.”

22 Letters Hebrew Alphabet, 22 Chapters Revelation, First 5 Chapters

There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet.  Since God spoke creation into being using words made up of the 22 letters, it is said that the Hebrew alphabet is the building block of creation.  Each letter has its own meaning not like our English language.  Hebrew words are formed from the meaning of the letters.

My belief is that the meaning of numbers are tied to the numbers pertaining to each Hebrew letter such as by gematria or positioning.

Most people are familiar with Psalm 119 written in order of an acrostic.

The book of Lamentations follows somewhat of an acrostic also.  The first chapter has 22 verses corresponding to the 22 letters in order.  Chapters 2-4 follow the acrostic but put the pey  before the ayin.  Chapter 3 has 66 verses and is in sets of 3.  The last chapter has 22 verses but is all jumbled up.

So in the Bible there is the thought process of writing in the order of the Hebrew alphabet.

The book of Revelation has 22 chapters corresponding to the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.

A cursory look at the book shows a door in chapter four.  The fourth letter is the dalet and is a picture of a door.  The sixteenth chapter mentions a fountain.  The sixteenth letter is the ayin meaning “eye” or “fountain”.  Jesus calls Himself the “alpha and omega”.  In hebrew He would be calling Himself the “aleph and the tav”.  The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is the aleph.  The 22nd letter is the tav.  Jesus calls Himself the “aleph and tav” in both the 1st and 22nd chapters.

These 4 incidents made me wonder if the book of Revelation was written following the thought process of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet and then divinely broken up into 22 chapters corresponding to the 22 letters.  And if so do they add and understanding to the chapter.

1) ALEPH The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is called aleph.  The Aleph is a picture of the Ox or Bull meaning “strength” or “leader”.

God the Father is the aleph or the strength and leader of the house.  In the first chapter of revelation Jesus presents Himself as God Himself, the leader of the house, the Aleph, and therefore worthy to inspect and ultimately judge the house.

In Chapter 1 John gives greetings from the Father, the Spirit, and Jesus.

Revelation 1:4  John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

Rev 1:5  And from Jesus Christ

The Father is called the one “which is, and which was, and which is to come”

Later Jesus calls Himself the same.

Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Jesus also calls Himself the Alpha and Omega which in Hebrew would be “the Aleph and Tav” or “the first and the last.”

God the Father called Himself “the first and the last”.

Isa 48:12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

Rev 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last

Jesus is seen walking among the 7 candlesticks which is the church.  He is inspecting it.

Rev 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle

He is describes as the Father is in Daniel.

Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

His eyes “as a flame of fire” means He is inspecting the church with “Holy Spirit” eyes, not as man sees with his superficiality but as God sees the true heart.

Jesus has feet of brass, meaning judgement, as they burned in a furnace.

Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters

In Daniel “one like a son of man” walked through the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego

Dan 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

One of the main themes of the bible is that we go through this tribulation with Christ so that the bride is purified.  God is separating the wheat from the chaff, the dross from the silver.

Proverbs 25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.

Matthew 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Jesus as the leader of the house holds the 7 messengers of the 7 churches in His right hand.  The right hand denotes the power of the works of God in action.  The 7 messengers are being used by Christ through His power to complete His desire.  In this case the 7 messengers are rebuking and encouraging the 7 churches as we see in chapters 2 and 3.

Rev 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Rev 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

The first chapter of revelation is about Jesus establishing Himself as the Aleph.  He is God Himself and is therefore worthy to judge His house.

This is much like the first chapter of the bible. The word for God used exclusively in the first chapter of the bible is Elohim and it carries with it the idea of God as the ruler and judge of the earth.  Elohim establishes Himself as the creator and life giver of everything so yes He would be worthy to be called the ruler and judge of all.

2) BET The second letter of the Hebrew alphabet is called beit.  The beit is the picture of a House, or dwelling.

The Father sent His Son Jesus to build a house, the church.

Jesus has established Himself as the Aleph and therefore leader of the house.  He is therefore worthy to inspect and judge the house.  In chapters 2 and 3 Jesus inspects and judges the house represented by the seven churches.

3) GIMMEL The third letter of the Hebrew alphabet is called gimmel.  The gimmel is a picture of a Camel.  The camel was used in the bible to carry a person through the wilderness just as the Holy Spirit carries us through the wilderness.  John the Baptist, as a type of the Holy Spirt working through man, was dressed in camel’s hair, symbolically he was full of the Spirit.

The word gimmel means reward and recompense and comes from a root meaning to deal out, to give, or to wean.  The reward or recompense can thus be a blessing or a judgment.  This again is a picture of the Holy Spirit convicting and encouraging, blessing and judging.

Chapters 2 and 3 of revelation combine the beit and gimmel.  The 7 churches are the house the Son is building. Jesus established Himself as the aleph or strong leader of the house in chapter 1.  As the leader, He sends His Spirit to His house to call them, teach them, judge them and encourage them.

Each letter to the seven churches is organized the same way.  Jesus describes a symbolic attribute of Himself as the Leader of the House worthy to judge.  He then gives a statement about the condition of the House.  He tells of the reward/recompense for following or not following Him.  He lastly tells each church to listen to the Spirit.

The central theme is His House is to be Holy, to be like Him.  Do not be seduced by the world, the false prophets, the Jezebels.  If you choose not to follow judgment is coming.

Chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation seem to also follow chapters 2 and 3 of the bible.  In chapter 2 of the bible God starts building His house-Adam.  His house is given boundaries, you can not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

In chapter 3 of the bible His house rebels and is judged, but is also given the first messianic promise of redemption.  This is all very similar to the message to the seven churches.

4) DALET The fourth letter of the Hebrew alphabet is called dalet.  The dalet is a picture of a door.  A door acts as a divider between what is inside and what is outside. You use a door to go in and out or back and forth.  The number four throughout scripture is used in conjunction with division.  The essence of holiness is division, setting something special apart from the common.  God is Holy or set apart and has made His church holy or set apart by Jesus’ blood, and He wants us to learn to act holy or set apart by obeying His holy laws which reflect His Holiness.

In the fourth chapter John is shown a door opened to the holy temple in heaven.  He sees the holy throne of God with 24 elders sitting on 24 seats around the throne.  There are seven lamps burning before the throne.  There are 4 living beings also in the midst of the throne and around the throne. The one on the throne is like a Jasper and sardine stone.  This is the first and last stone of the breastplate of the High priest.  The first and the last represent all.  The stones of the breastplates stood for the 12 tribes-all Israel-the House of God-the church throughout history.

The rainbow is a reminder of God’s covenant with Noah.  It is like an emerald, the 4th stone of the breastplate.  Judah is the 4th son.  Jesus, our redeemer and covenant maker, is from the tribe of Judah.

Rebekah the virgin bride is the type of the 24 elders seated before the throne of God.  This is the holy, set apart, divided out bride seated in the heavenlies as Ephesians calls us.  This is our future and what we are now.

Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

The four living beings, which are the Holy Spirit and His power in action, are full of eyes representing the omniscience and omnipresence of God.  The wings represent their power and therefore the power of God.  There are 4 beings representing the concept of division and holiness.  The goal of the Holy Spirit is to call and refine the house or bride of Christ.  There are 6 wings to each being.  The 6th letter is the vav.  It means to join.  The number six also denotes physical completion.  The Holy Spirit is completing and joining the bride to Christ.  There are a total of 24 wings just like there are 24 elders.  

The Holy Spirit dwells within us, the 24 elders, to give us His power.  When you read revelation you find that the 24 elders do what the 4 living beings do.  We follow the Spirit as He leads.

The fourth chapter is seen as a picture of the Holiness of the Father, the heavenly temple, the agent of holiness in His people, the Holy Spirit and the holy bride seated in the heavenlies.

It is interesting that the fourth chapter of the bible is also about division and a setting apart.  Abel’s sacrifice was accepted and Cain’s was not.  Cain was sent away from the presence of the Lord and marked.

5) HEY- The fifth letter of the Hebrew alphabet is called hey.  It means to reveal or behold.

What does the fifth chapter of revelation reveal?

First, a book written on the front and back and sealed with seven seals.

Revelation 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

It is written on the front and back means that it is full or complete.

It is sealed because the seal shows who the owner is.  It is the Father’s seal.  He is the owner.

The next revealing of chapter 5 is the Lamb - Jesus Christ. Only because of His redemption can the book be opened.  Without His redemption there is no book to open.

Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Rev 5:6  And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

The lamb has 7 horns.  A horn represents power.  He has spiritually perfect power,

The lamb has Holy Spirit eyes, not the eyes of man.  He sees the heart perfectly.

This book is the book of life.  In it contains the church through all history, the virgin bride.  The 24 elders symbolize this virgin bride.  They fall down and worship Jesus, the Lamb, for He was slain and redeemed the virgin bride on the cross. Through His death we become kings and priests reigning with Him.  That is why the 24 elders are on seats around the throne with golden crowns.

Rev 5:8  And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.              

Rev 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

So the fifth chapter reveals the book of life, the bride, redeemed by the Lamb.  There is no bride without the Lamb, period. Inherent in this thought is that God reveals Himself through all creation, but only those who are His take that revelation to heart and are written in the book.

The fifth book of the Bible is the” revelation” of the “redeemed” line of Adam through Seth to Noah.  

Many commentators have talked about the hidden message within the names linking to the redemption of Jesus.

Adam=man Seth=appointed Enosh=mortal man Cainan=dwelling place Mahalalel=praise of God Jared=descend Enoch=train up or disciple Methuselah=missionary man Lamech=despair, jumbled kingdom Naoh=rest

Man is appointed mortality in his dwelling place.  To the praise of God He desended to disciple man and send him on a mission(indwelled by God) to the despairing lost kingdom to bring them rest.

The hidden message is the explanation of the gospel and is a picture of the book of life-the bride redeemed by the Lamb.

The issue always comes down to authority. 

Where do we find the authoritative voice of God? Is it in God’s written Word or does it reside with today’s apostles and prophets? Or both??? Answering this question is a matter of eternal life and death. 

Our Lord Jesus said, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’" (Matt 4:4)

So where do we find the words that are proceeding from the mouth of God? We say, “Scripture Alone”. The Super Apostles say “Scripture AND our prophetic words”. 

Beloved, it cannot be both. Why? Because the Apostles of today contradict Scripture. They re-interpret it. They add to it. They subtract from it. They preach their own dreams and visions instead of it.

•Modern Apostles tell us our faith is powerless if it lacks signs and wonders. Scripture says the GOSPEL is the power of God for salvation and Christ said that an evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign. (Rom 1:16, Matt 12:39)

•Modern Apostles tell us that it’s not God’s will for us to suffer. Scripture says that it is through many tribulations that we must enter the Kingdom, and Christ told the weary Apostle Paul that His grace would be sufficient for him in his sufferings. (Acts 14:22, 2 Cor 12:9)

•Modern Apostles tell us that prophecy isn’t an accurate science and 80% of prophecies will miss the mark. Scripture says that if you prophesy falsely even once then that makes you a false prophet and your claim to be a prophet is to be disregarded. (Deut 18:22)

•Modern Apostles tell us that Jesus set His divinity aside to show us that miraculous powers aren’t just for the Son of God but for everyone who has enough faith. Scripture says that Christ is the Word made flesh, and being God, the wind and waves obey His voice, the lame walk, and the dead are raised. The true Apostles were given the authority to work a few miracles but none greater than the ones Jesus performed. But all Todd White can do is pull peoples’ legs…literally. 

Why are the false apostles and prophets so successful? Why are so many millions subscribing to their teachings? Because they have transferred authority from God’s Word to themselves. Claiming to have the most relevant Word from God, they obscure the clear teachings of Scripture with their fresh revelations, dreams, visions, and trips to heaven. They prevent needy souls from seeing Christ as they share angel encounters and portal travels. All of this is defended by the weightiest words one could possibly speak, "GOD TOLD ME!!”

The Super Apostles have made a demand upon the entire body of Christ: “God Himself has restored the office of Apostle. He has sent us to lead you into His great end time plan. You need to listen to us. You need to submit to us. God cannot bless you if you don’t. You don’t want to find yourself opposing God, do you? If you oppose us, you oppose Him.”

This is the Great Authority Transfer.

Scripture is no longer the final authority for much of the visible church. A new order of latter day super saints has arisen touting a new source of authority. They have set the stage for the greatest revival of all time, or the greatest deception. Which is it? 

Beloved, it cannot be both.

I, for one, will not bow to the new Apostles. I will not submit. I will not blindly follow. These are apostles of a different Jesus and Christians do not need their fantasies of Jezebel spirits and generational curses. We don’t need their promises of abundance and prosperity. We don’t need them. Period. 

By God's grace, I will seek to live on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, and I am convinced that His word is not proceeding from Che Ahn, Bill Johnson, or any other self anointed ones. Let us cling to Scripture Alone which tells us about the Word of God made flesh, Who proceeded from the Father to make atonement for our guilty souls. He alone is all our hope, our salvation, our life, our joy, our all in all.

If we asked: why is Ministry and relating with people so difficult? You might have the ready answer:

Jer 17:9 THE HUMAN MIND IS MORE DECEITFUL THAN ANYTHING ELSE. IT IS INCURABLY BAD. WHO CAN UNDERSTAND IT? NET

But the next verse assures us that God knows how to deal with each person according to their state.

Jer 17:10 BUT I AM THE LORD, AND I CAN LOOK INTO A PERSON'S HEART. I CAN TEST A PERSON'S MIND AND DECIDE WHAT EACH ONE SHOULD HAVE. I can give each person the right payment for what they do. ERV

God has the capability to control, break and remold every single hearts because He has the “instrument”.

Pro 20:27 THE SPIRIT OF MAN IS THE LAMP OF JEHOVAH, SEARCHING ALL THE INWARD PARTS OF THE BELLY. MKJV

God can also deal with those defective heart and make them all responsive to Himself, can’t He?

Eze 36:25-27 I will sprinkle you with clean water, and you will be clean and acceptable to me. I will wash away everything that makes you unclean, and I will remove your disgusting idols. I WILL TAKE AWAY YOUR STUBBORN HEART AND GIVE YOU A NEW HEART AND A DESIRE TO BE FAITHFUL. YOU WILL HAVE ONLY PURE THOUGHTS, BECAUSE I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT IN YOU AND MAKE YOU EAGER TO OBEY MY LAWS AND TEACHINGS. CEV

So, why is it so difficult to get the responses and eventual compliance of men in spiritual matters; why are Men so insistent on doing just what they like and establishing demonic Traditions?

Well, it is now important for us all to remember and acknowledge the state of the Church of our God [till] today.

Num 11:4-5 THERE WERE FOREIGNERS TRAVELING WITH THE ISRAELITES. THEY HAD A STRONG CRAVING FOR MEAT, AND EVEN THE ISRAELITES THEMSELVES BEGAN TO COMPLAIN: "If only we could have some meat! IN EGYPT WE USED TO EAT ALL THE FISH WE WANTED, AND IT COST US NOTHING. Remember the cucumbers, the watermelons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic we had? GNB

Many amongst us are not really God’s children, even though they join us in worship.

They have no commitment to Him other than to give tokens and get abundant blessings.

They are the ones who amongst us will start fires and initiate demonic practices, and they easily corrupt and influence the rest of us because we only [and foolishly] want to see them as being one of, and same with us.

Joh 8:43-44 Why can't you understand what I am talking about? Can't you stand to hear what I am saying? YOUR FATHER IS THE DEVIL, AND YOU DO EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTS. HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A MURDERER AND A LIAR. THERE IS NOTHING TRUTHFUL ABOUT HIM. HE SPEAKS ON HIS OWN, AND EVERYTHING HE SAYS IS A LIE. Not only is he a liar himself, but he is also the father of all lies. CEV

Don’t even argue that: “those were Pharisees, and Jesus was only referring to ‘outsiders’”.

You should thence answer why Jesus wrote this to His own Church, after He had died, risen and commissioned us.

Rev 2:20-21 But I have this against you: YOU TOLERATE THAT WOMAN JEZEBEL, WHO CALLS HERSELF A PROPHETESS AND IS SEDUCING MY LOVING SERVANTS. SHE IS TEACHING THAT IT IS PERMISSIBLE TO INDULGE IN SEXUAL IMMORALITY AND TO EAT FOOD SACRIFICED TO IDOLS. I have waited for her to repent from her vile immorality, but she refuses to do so. TPT

And how did they enter the Church; how do children of Satan come in amongst us and find the church comfortable enough to abide, operate within and influence the church to follow suit?

Mat 13:24-26 Jesus then told them this story: THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS LIKE WHAT HAPPENED WHEN A FARMER SCATTERED GOOD SEED IN A FIELD. BUT WHILE EVERYONE WAS SLEEPING, AN ENEMY CAME AND SCATTERED WEED SEEDS IN THE FIELD AND THEN LEFT. When the plants came up and began to ripen, the farmer's servants could see the weeds. CEV

“Men slept” means they became spiritually cold, lazy, unfocused and redundant.

Satan thence floods the church all over with his seeds.

Now Jesus said “men slept” but we like to report it mildly, that “they slipped by us secretly”.

Looks like “passing the buck”, but okay, they are “in” amongst us already, so?

Jud 1:4 For some godless people have slipped in unnoticed among us, persons who distort the message about the grace of our God in order to excuse their immoral ways, and who reject Jesus Christ, our only Master and Lord. Long ago the Scriptures predicted the condemnation they have received. GNB

You know that Satan is as passionate about flooding the Church with his “minions” as we should be about winning and adding Souls into the kingdom.

They are [insidiously] “growing” along with us.

Mat 13:30 LET THE WEEDS AND THE WHEAT GROW TOGETHER UNTIL THE HARVEST TIME. At the harvest time I will tell the workers this: First, gather the weeds and tie them together to be burned. Then gather the wheat and bring it to my barn.'" BBE

The Harvest time is the end of the world (Mat 13:39), meaning that these “strange children of the devil” will REMAIN with us till the end of this life and world.

Very enigmatic, isn’t it beloved?

Now, what really shocked me is what Jesus said in the preceding verses, and we should inspect these.

Mat 13:28-29 "The man answered, 'AN ENEMY PLANTED WEEDS.' "The servants asked, 'DO YOU WANT US TO GO AND PULL UP THE WEEDS?' "HE ANSWERED, 'NO, BECAUSE WHEN YOU PULL UP THE WEEDS, YOU MIGHT ALSO PULL UP THE WHEAT. ERV

This is so astounding folks.

How could the removal of “WEEDS” cause the “WHEAT” to be uprooted also?

Elijah and The Widow

This post is part two of our Becoming Elijah series. You can read and listen to part 1 here.

Brief Review

If you were simply reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in order the first time you would become aware of Elijah would be in 1 Kings 17. He bursts into the story unannounced with a message of judgment from God. This message was also a direct challenge to Baal, the god many were beginning to worship who supposedly brought rain.

Elijah faithfully delivers the short message and God tells him to run and hide by a brook. We do not know how long Elijah was hiding but during that time he was fed by ravens twice a day and drank water from the brook. As time goes by, days, weeks, months, years perhaps, the water level at the brook continually drops, making it increasingly difficult for Elijah to drink from it. Eventually, the brook dries up because there has been no rain in the land.

Emotional Impact

I invite you to place yourself in the shoes of Elijah for a moment. Imagine being faithful to God and doing exactly as you’re told, only to have life continually become more and more difficult. Elijah finds himself hiding in the wilderness, in isolation because he is a wanted man. We do not know how long he was living by the brook or how comfortable his accommodations were. I imagine they were not the most comfortable he had ever experienced in his life. Life was hard. I cannot imagine what it must be like to be isolated for long periods of time. I know it is good to spend time alone in nature, but I have to admit I do not find it easy to do.

However, Elijah is not the first or the last person God called or caused to spend some time in a wilderness. Moses fled from Egypt and spend 40 years caring for sheep (Acts 7:23-30, Exodus 3:1). David spent years in the wilderness as well, caring for sheep (1 Samuel 16:11-13; 17:15, 20); and avoiding King Saul (1 Samuel 22:1-2, 23:14; 24:1, etc.). In the New Testament, we have Jesus being led by the Spirit into the wilderness (Matthew 4:1; Mark 1:12; Luke 4:1). Apparently, God uses wilderness experiences to equip His servants for service. The question then becomes are we willing to go through that training. When God sends us to the wilderness, do we spend time there learning what God wants to teach us, or do we give up and walk away?

How often are we in a hurry to do something great for God and in that hurry we fail to be properly equipped for the task He is calling us to do? Could we be struggling today because we avoided the wilderness experience, or perhaps are we currently living our wilderness experience?

Maybe COVID has caused you to feel like you’re all alone, so even though you may be living in a city, in your own home, you feel alone, isolated, and abandoned by God?

Is God trying to teach you something? Can God bring some good out of this situation? What can we learn from our wilderness experience? Instead of becoming bitter and angry towards God, what if we take this moment to reconnect with God and more intentionally seek His will?

Spending time in the wilderness is not comfortable, but it can be very beneficial for our souls. Taking a break, slowing down, having to deal with the discomfort and challenges, and hardships that accompany being in the wilderness can be a blessing in the life lessons we learn and the insights we gain about God and life. Our time in the wilderness can be a time of learning and growth even if it seems like a waste of time.

But how long do we have to stay in the wilderness? God lets us know.

The Word of the LORD came

Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” - 1 Kings 17:8-9 NKJV

We are tempted to believe that God is either not paying attention or that He does not have a plan simply because He does not make all the details of His plan available to us from the very beginning. God told Elijah to go hide by the Brook Cherith and Elijah obeyed. But God did not tell Elijah how long he was supposed to stay there. Maybe Eliah thought he would be there the whole time, maybe Elijah did not expect the drought to last as long as it had. Perhaps Elijah was tempted to believe God had forgotten about him, except he knew that God remembered because his food was provided twice a day every day. How would you have felt if you were in a similar situation? On the one hand, there is a clear sign that God is providing for your needs, in Elijah’s case the ravens bringing him food each day. On the other hand, there is a problem you see looming on the horizon, and you feel like God is not doing anything about it. In Elijah’s case the water level of the brook continues to drop, every day it gets more difficult for him to drink from the brook until it’s dry.

Only then the word of the LORD comes to Elijah.

You could argue that God didn’t tell Elijah anything earlier because it was not like Elijah could do anything about it anyway. But are we comfortable with that? Can our faith handle not knowing all the details? Can our faith survive waiting until the last minute before God reveals to us what the next step should be? Can we trust in God solely based on what He has already done for us, based on what He is doing for us? Is our faith strong enough to survive not knowing everything?

I am not talking about blind faith. I am talking about an informed faith, but a faith that does not have all the details concerning everything. Personally, I find it challenging. It is humbling when I get asked questions and I have to say that I don’t know, that it’s unclear, or that the Bible is silent on it. But I still find this healthier than coming up with personal theories and reading them into the biblical text or even into the will of God. By this I mean I would rather say I don’t know than to say that my personal theory is what God is going to do, or is doing when God has not made it clear. I hope we can all learn from Elijah’s story so far that sometimes we don’t know the details until it’s time to act on them. Until God makes things clearer we continue to faithfully follow what He has revealed. We should be very careful about making prophetic proclamations about end-time events, especially when we share personal views as if they were biblical truths.

Also, if you ever talk with me and I agree that your scenario is a possibility, please don’t tell others that I agree with your view, I only agree that it is a possibility, but there are many possible ways that the future will take place. Instead of focusing on that the next step will be one day in the future, how about we focus on what God has called us to do today, this week, this year?

Elijah remained at the brook until God told him to leave.

Zarephath

Zarephath was a small town in Phoenicia, located between Tyre and Sidon. Interestingly, the text mentions that Zeraphath belonged to Sidon, this is significant because Jezebel was a Sidonian princess (1 Kgs 16:31) which means that her father was the ruler of the territory where Zarephath was located. So God told Elijah, who was running away from Jezebel, to go hide in her home country, a land under the control of her father, a land where its inhabitants officially worshipped Baal.

I imagine Elijah feeling relief that God was finally revealing to him His plans and what he should do next. I also imagine Elijah wondering if it would be better to hang out by the dry brook for a bit longer. How does the expression go, out of the frying pan and into the fire? That might have been how Elijah felt at first. But don’t worry, it gets worse.

A Widow

Not only is God telling Elijah to travel to a gentile land where Baal worship is the official religion, but God is also telling Elijah that a widow will provide for him. Widows constituted some of the poorest most helpless people in society. Most of the time widows were not able to earn a respectable living with begging and prostitution generally being their only source of livelihood.

Another detail that caught my attention is the fact that God knew the widows who lived outside the borders of Israel. If God had commanded this widow living in Zarephath to provide for Elijah could this be evidence that God cares for everyone? I would not have expected God to use a poor widow from a pagan nation to provide for one of the greatest prophets of the Old Testament. I imagine this widow must have been seeking God, and God revealed Himself to her in some way and now God was sending her a prophet. I love how God takes this person that most would have considered forsaken and cursed by God and uses her to provide for His prophet.

I love how God uses people who don’t have it all together, people who are struggling and makes them a part of His plan to save the world.

Elijah Obeys

So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.” - 1 Kings 17:10 NKJV

I am amazed by Elijah’s faithful obedience. Elijah does not question God or complain even though his life keeps getting more difficult at each step. It seems to me that all Elijah has been getting for his faithfulness is more challenges. But he simply obeys God and sure enough as he comes to the gate of the city he sees a widow. I am not sure about Elijah, but maybe many of us would expect this to be a wealthy widow, maybe she has a nice house with a view, a pool, a well-watered garden with lots of fruits and veggies growing. Maybe after roughing it by the brook Elijah had earned a well-deserved vacation. Now he will likely get to finally sleep in a bed and have a roof over his head and he eat something that was not brought by birds. I would be excited to join civilization again, or I would have been if it had been a city that belonged to Sidon. I would have been constantly worried if anyone had figured out that I was the prophet that queen Jezebel wanted dead. What if a neighbor decided to collect on a possible bounty that could have been set for me? Or what if someone simply wanted to get on the good side of the king by helping his daughter?

I don’t really know what Elijah was thinking, but I like to place myself in his shoes and try to imagine how difficult this could have been for him. What I do know is that Elijah calls to the widow and asks for water, which I imagine must have been really valuable at this time. I bet people were being very careful with their water usage during this drought.

Bread, please!

And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” - 1 Kings 17:11 NKJV

I can imagine Elijah asking a widow for water, she does not say a word but goes to get the water, then he interrupts her to ask for bread. I don’t know about you, but I struggle a bit with asking for help. I don’t mind asking for help to help someone else. If someone needs help I don’t mind asking others to join me in helping someone else. But when it comes to asking for myself, I hate it, many times I would rather go without than bother someone else with my needs. I believe this probably stems from pride, and God has been helping me with this by repeatedly placing me in situations where I need to ask others for help. But still, I struggle with the idea of asking a poor widow not just for water but also for bread. Especially in the middle of a terrible drought. Everyone is struggling. Brooks are drying up, crops are failing, animals are dying, how could I ask a poor widow for water and bread?

No Bread

So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” - 1 Kings 17:11-12 NKJV

The widow humbly informs Elijah of her plans for the future which consist of baking one last meal for herself and her son and slowly starving to death. If she was lucky she would not have to witness the death of her son, but on the other hand, would she really want her son to have to watch her die? This is just a terrible situation regardless of how you look at it.

I imagine Elijah saying, “Sorry, never mind. I must have confused you with someone else. Is there another widow in this town, someone with a big house, perhaps a pool and lots of delicious food?

On a more serious note, why would God ask a widow who does not have enough even for herself to provide for His prophet? After all, is it not God’s job to provide for His servants?

I believe the lesson here is that God prefers to work through us to bless each other and He can use anyone, even the poorest among us. Even the person who barely has enough to survive can be used by God to bless others. We are blessed as we go out of our way to help others. This blessing is not only for the wealthy, it is not only for those who have access to more resources. We are all called to do something. Don’t count yourself out simply because you don’t have as much as someone else. You can also help. When God calls on you to help He will bless you in order for you to be a blessing to others.

Do not fear

And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ” - 1 Kings 17:13-14 NKJV

The widow has legitimate reasons to be concerned, but Elijah tells her to not fear, she is to obey God and trust Him to provide for all her needs. If he makes God a priority in her life, she does not have to be afraid. When we find ourselves in God’s will, we have nothing to fear. We minister not because we have an abundance but rather because God calls us to. We step out in faith to bless those around us, trusting that as we do the will of God, He will take care of our needs.

He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. - Matthew 10:39 NKJV

Jesus makes it clear, we find life by giving it up. I don’t think He means reckless living or suicide, but rather a life where the focus has shifted from self to other. A life where obeying God is more important than my selfish desires. This is not an easy life, but it is the only life worth living.

If I truly believe that God is my provider, that He not only created me but also redeemed me. If I believe that God loves me beyond anything I could ever hope to comprehend, and if I believe that God calls me to bless those around me, why should I be afraid of stepping out in faith? If God is calling me to help others learn about Him why should I be afraid?

Trust

So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah. - 1 Kings 17:15-16NKV

"While Jezebel feeds the prophets of Baal in Israel (1 Kgs 18:19), the Zarepthathite widow feeds Elijah, the prophet of Yahweh, in Sidon (1 Kgs 17:13–16)"  -- The Lexham Bible Dictionary.

We need to make sure we are following the will of God and not the will of humans, our own, or our spiritual leaders’. Spend time in prayer, read the Bible, but once you become convinced of what God is calling you to do, go for it trusting God to provide for you. Trust in God and live out your faith in service for those around you. Do not be afraid of ministry. Do not be afraid of helping others. Do not be afraid of sharing the love of God. Trust in God, don’t be afraid, and do what He is calling you to do.

Let your love for God guide your life, not fear. Do not focus on the problems, and reasons for you to not get involved, look to God, claim His promises, do not be afraid, trust in God, and get involved in service for the benefit of those around you.

God is faithful.

You do not have to be afraid.

“Ishmael’s father! Like, I usually never see these guys after I’m done fucking them! I thought, what the hell, the guy should probably know he has a baby out there somewhere, you know? So I went up to him and was like, hey dude, remember me? I had your baby! Whack, right?

Turns out, his wife was sitting next to him! I thought she was just some rando. Well, naturally she was pissed as all hell. I can’t say I blame her, though.

She threw her drink in his face and chewed us both out! She was all like ‘oh you slut you ruined our family’ like, girl, hello? I didn’t know he was married! She ended up dragging him out of there by the ear, pretty funny.

Kind of a bummer that I never got to tell the guy how to get in contact with Ishmael, but to be honest I don’t think he’d be interested. Hey, I tried, right?”

“Bless, this story is not funny. The only ‘wild’ thing here is your disregard for the Lord! This is why He has cursed us so! If you weren’t breeding with these sinners, He would love us more! I’ll admit, I now see that He is upset with me and my failure as well, but-”

“Whoa, whoa, wait. Failure? What failure?”

“My moral failing of leaving my husband. I had assumed that, because he was a sinner from Hell, the Lord wouldn’t be mad, but He was! Oh, my poor baby was born tonight! I christened it Hellbound, because any child born on the Devil’s Day can go nowhere else!”

“...Holy shit, Mir. That’s a lot to unpack. Let’s start with the part where you think your baby is Satan’s child or whatever.”

“There’s nothing more to say. It was born on the day devoted to worshiping Satan, and because of it that child has no soul. I was given a monster.”

“...Maybe we should consider adoption. I know it’s really complicated, but-”

“Never! Blessing, children are gifts from the Lord! He has given Hellbound to me to test me, and to teach me where I’ve gone wrong. To give up that soulless thing is to give up my own soul!
