A small watercolour vignette of a room I painted ages ago and the initial planing sketch for it. Was a bit difficult working around not painting with acrylic with this one.

Commentary under read more to avoid making the post too long :3

The original date of creation for this one was about October 1st, 2020, though that was more the date I handed it in rather than the date I finished.

It was a small warm up assignment we were given in my high school art class before any large personal projects and was a bit different than anything I usually made at that point, especially with it being a watercolour.

I remember a critique during the sketch phase I got for this one was regarding the curtains looking weird, but as much as I tried I couldn’t remedy that in the final copy. It ended up being the only assignment that semester I didn’t get full marks for as a result.

Looking back, considering how much difficulty watercolour still gives me in the present day, I’d say this piece still holds up quite nicely :3
