I would love to hear the story, please
Tumblr media
"It's a little hard to swallow. Um...
"When I was a kid, before I met Ash, there was this pandemic. Really wrecked everything, riots in the streets, death by the hundreds everyday. It was Hell. It left me orphaned and hiveless, so um. I went through people's trash, as one does and, um, one of the major politicians at the time he uh. He found me. Took me in. See uh--
"Around the time of this pandemic was a huge political debate, an election of sorts. He was one of the candidates, and was dealing with the pandemic seemingly favorably. Everyone loved him. Trusted him. I certainly did.
"That is, until I found his receipts. I was always a nosy person, and so um, I was going through his stuff. I found that he was profiting, actually, off of the whole pandemic thing and the pharmaceuticals. Playing Gog.
"He found me going through this stuff, and obviously he can't let a brat run the streets spitting the truth, so he um. He included me in the next shipment of sickly to this weird camp. Just more test subjects for the bio-weapon and vaccine both. I uh. I was one of many who were tested and experimented on. And... that's how I got this scar. And others, actually, but this one's the most noticeable.
"When the election was over, the vaccine was fully released. And uh, they didn't want survivors ya know. So most of the people I knew got the bullet. I found a way out though.
"Me and Eirror.
"But it didn't really matter. I spoke the truth to anyone who would listen and all I get is being called a freak. Shifty eyes in my direction because I'm some weirdo who came from the town that the illness supposedly originated in. Creepyno, Creepy-Pyno, ya know the drill. Some freaky conspiracy theorist guy who has the scars to prove it but not the people to back him up to expose the Government.
"And sometimes that digs deeper than their scalpels ever did."

I find it interesting that you associate being seen as caring or healing with being seen as like, soft and weak. I'm not saying that to dismiss the idea that people are wierd about this stuff sometimes or anything. obviously the whole 'soft bean' thing and the weird infantalising energy is a real thing on tumblr especially and it's got to be super insulting to have that directed your way, but to me seeing someone as healing is not at all something I would automatically equate with being 'soft' and certainly not weak. like, paramedics are healing and they break people's ribs. I've never looked at a doctor and thought UwU smol bean. combat medics are healers. plague doctors were healers (or trying to be anyway) and their aesthetic is menacing af. healers are people who go up against brutality and decay and gore and somehow manage to come out on top. nothing soft about it.
i... don't. that's not what i said at all. there is nothing weak about being soft, or kind, or caring, or anything of the sort. and there is certainly nothing even close to weak or soft about the medical profession--in fact quite the opposite, i could never in a million years do what medical professionals do, i have medical trauma so bad that i have to warn nurses i might pass out while i'm getting unremarkably vaccinated, lol. i can't even look at a little bit of blood without feeling faint.
i was just inquiring as to why SO many people pegged me as a healer, because it runs contradictory to not only my aesthetic but also my personality. i have a whole tag just for my interest in deadly poisons, fatal diseases, & nuclear disasters. i have another, separate tag i made to cope with being diagnosed w/ pyromania when i was a teenager. i collect livestock whips and crops and dress like i just crawled out of hell. and i am an incredibly abrasive person, the living personification of corrosion. people are sacred of me, i know because they tell me, or at work they tell my bosses. intense, bossy, mean, and intimidating are all words i have heard used to describe me many many times.
almost all of this makes me really, really happy. it feels nice, to cultivate an identity after years and years of being no one or being unhappy with yourself, and then you can just live in that identity and be comfortable with yourself and who you are.
so like, you can imagine, getting on the website where i am most openly myself and then asking ppl to do a fun maymay where they assign me magic and like most of them say i'm this healing force, and then i ask why and the answer i get is "oh well you're so soft and sweet" just, like, sucks? it has nothing to do with those qualities not being a good thing, and everything to do with those qualities not being me.
i have a disorder that basically makes it so i have no solid identity, so stuff like that--where i'm forced to confront that even if i have made strides in feeling like i have a solid identity, i don't actually, and it's all in my head--that stuff can bum a person out. it's a bit of a shock, is all.
so i was just asking why people felt that way. because i do not like wasting time feeling miserable about things. when i am upset i am finding the most efficient way to fix that upset. currently, it is gathering data on why people see me this way so that i can confront the aspect of my outward personality that gives them that impression of me and fix/rearrange/eliminate it. i cannot see it on my own--i have tired--so i need help, which is why i asked tumblr. tumblr is the website i get the MOST infantilization and/or "omg ur so friendly sweet and soft smol bean" on, i encounter it a lot less irl or in other social communities, so it just makes sense to me to ask here.
also, you have to understand that i am doing EVERYTHING with the ever-present threat of infantilization. people on this website are... INCREDIBLY ableist. they do not think autistics are capable of... being competent adults, at all. every day my ask box is filled with people who talk to me like i was born yesterday, like i cannot stress ENOUGH they will give the affectation of very calmly setting me down to explain to me that the sky is blue. i delete a LOT of these asks because they make me so fucking angry, but just try to understand that i'm coming from a place of repetitive reinforcements that not only am i a soft sweet bean, but also i am a wholly incompetent toddler instead of, like... a whole ass adult with a desk job who pays taxes and votes and fucks. until ableists stop being ableist, there is no way for me to use this website without everything moving through a filter of ableism.
anyways thats a lot of information about a lot of things, i appreciate this ask and what you're trying to do with it and you're 100% correct. but i feel like people are missing the point and i'm repeating myself a lot. if anyone had said to me what you're saying now, i'm sure they would have said it exactly like you did here, not just uwu soft friendly bean does healing magic hehe
[OPERATION: help me figure out why the fuck a bunch of people assigned me healing magic on some reblog meme]

Letter 10 of 22
January 22, 2022
Dear Premier Stefanson,
It has been nine days since I sent correspondence with feedback that was expressly solicited when you said on January 12th that you "will be taking advice from other Manitobans…moving forward." I have yet to receive any acknowledgement that my advice going to be taken into consideration; therefore, this email will be re-sent to you and a few other key decision-makers every day until policy changes in Manitoba to adequately address my concerns and/or you respond to me personally.
What comes to mind today about MB Gov's current approach is the word "endemic" - a term that I've heard someone I personally know use as justification for them never to be vaccinated against Covid-19 (despite becoming infected themselves and losing a family member to the virus). Correspondingly, in a recent CBC article from January 20th (i.e. "Spain locked down hard to fight COVID-19 - now it's preparing to live with the virus"), it's essential for me to point out two things. First, some troubling words from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson when he said, "As COVID becomes endemic, we will need to replace legal requirements with advice and guidance, urging people with the virus to be careful and considerate of others" (which communicates a premature end to public health orders and more unhelpful "be kind" rhetoric). Essentially, with them getting rid of masks again at the end of the month, all requirement is moving toward recommendation only…but this didn't work the first time (with the United Kingdom alone accounting for over 150 000 deaths and over 15 million documented cases of the Coronavirus to date). As I told a friend recently when they asked in jest whether the pandemic was over, I mentioned that what you said in the press conference a week and a half ago was to let Manitobans know that Covid won AND that everyone who has shirked responsibility thusfar can keep on keeping on, without consequence. This is not acceptable. Covid-19 is not endemic; we're still in the midst of a global epidemic. This brings me to the second thing I noticed in that CBC article: "Speaking at a World Economic Forum panel on Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top infectious diseases doctor in the U.S., said COVID-19 could not be considered endemic until it drops to 'a level that it doesn't disrupt society.'" This has obviously not happened in the US - many States having acted throughout the pandemic like it was "here to stay" - and the human toll continues to be felt with over 864 000 deaths and well over 70 million reported cases (which is surely higher due to lack of testing). Covid continues to disrupt society significantly - so much so that we can't even keep track of how many people have the virus any more. People are still getting sick and dying, and we don't know when the next wave is going to hit or how the next variant will impact us. Now is not the time to give up, but to tighten restrictions and increase penalties for those willingly not-yet-vaccinated…otherwise, the sacrifices that many of us having been making these past two years for the cause - as well as everyone who has died since 2020 because of Covid - has been in vain. For the love of Manitoba, let's not move in a similar direction to the UK, US, or Spain. We saw the result of doing so in Alberta last year, and it didn't end well.
That was longer than I expected…similar to the pandemic, I guess. More of both tomorrow.
Sincerely, X
------
Dear Premier Stefanson et al,
Greetings from Southern Manitoba. In light of the comments made at yesterday's press conference (i.e. January 12, 2022) - where it was specifically stated that the provincial government "will be taking advice from other Manitobans as well moving forward" - I would like to take this statement seriously/literally and provide you with some feedback from a deeply concerned resident of the Rural Municipality of Hanover. While the term "stakeholders" was likely used to refer primarily to business owners, I think it's vital to point out what should be obvious: all residents/citizens collectively are the most significant stakeholders in Manitoba, and if these voices - like my own - are not being listened to, what this conveys is that there is some serious misgovernance taking place (which undermines the democratic purpose/process of politicians acting on behalf of those who they are supposed to represent). Obviously, I don't expect a response, since it's clear that leaders in the current administration aren't even willing to answer direct questions from official members of the press. But if any confidence in this current government has any hope of being restored, I would appreciate if this correspondence was at the very least passed along to the people to whom it's addressed. Accordingly, at this time I would like to name four different issues: suppressing public health recommendations, the provincial response level, forced back to school, and expanding the proof of vaccination.
First, it was painfully obvious at yesterday's press conference that the government was indeed advised by its own public health division that stricter measures were needed in order to protect all Manitobans. Instead, what we saw was a blatant disregard of such recommendations in favour of a what was termed a "balanced" approach, which is clearly no longer concerned at all with "containing" the spread of Covid-19 but resigned to allow the entire population to contract the virus that some of us have been trying extremely hard to fight against these past two years. We're only in this position now - of supposedly needing to accept that "Covid is here to stay" - because the provincial response to the pandemic has ever tended to be reactive (as opposed to proactive) and has not listened to expertise from medical professionals soon enough to "mitigate" the collateral damage of human lives that we've seen. Granted - this is a worldwide problem and not a shortcoming that's specific to Manitoba; however, this does not release us from the responsibility to do our utmost to keep people safe - no matter the cost. Sure, listen to multiple sources. But if it's a veritable issue of life/death or health/illness, this alone trumps any political, economic, or religious interests. Therefore, if public health and/or medical experts are telling the government anything that has relevance to decisions that are being made at the provincial level, this ought to be transparently disclosed and must factor into policies that are enacted to protect the well-being of those who call Manitoba home.
Second, it was a common refrain the last few press conferences that Manitoba has had more strict measures in place than the other provinces across Canada (as some kind of justification/rationalization for not stepping up the current response level). To be perfectly honest, regardless of what our neighbours to the West, East, or South are doing, what matters above all else is to hold to a higher standard than those whose response has been subpar. In other words, the province of Manitoba should be seeking to be a leader nationally and globally in its championing of health and safety (instead of a follower, or a pariah). As it stands, we currently have the worst rate of active Covid-19 cases in Canada (again), and the province's response is to keep the response level at Orange - even though case numbers are worse than they have ever been throughout the entire pandemic. This is completely irresponsible and unacceptable. The province's response level should have been at Red long ago - with stay-at-home orders for all not-yet-vaccinated people (except for essentials), no guests at all for households that have any unvaccinated individuals, no special treatment for religious organizations, expanded and consistent enforcement of public health orders, etc. What's more, what Canada needs is a more unified approach, because what's happened to date - with each province essentially acting in isolation - is not working. Similar to the federal mandate for all civil servants to be vaccinated, a more unified partnership/coordination across provinces and territories to implement public health measure compliance is necessary to have any hope of preventing and containing future waves of the virus.
Third, this rhetoric of schools being "last to close, first to open" has to stop. Obviously no one wants schools to be closed since in-person learning spaces are inarguably preferable to online/virtual formats for most students. The reality of the capitalistic world that we occupy is that most people are reliant on children being in school so that parents/caregivers can work. And yet, by compelling students, staff and teachers to attend classes at an unsafe time during a global epidemic - without ensuring sufficient access to scientifically proven medical-grade masks for all, not substantially upgrading ventilation, not allowing time for students to get their second dose before restarting classes, etc - is nothing less than willing endangerment of human life. My kids, for example, got their first dose of the vaccine on the very first day they were eligible (i.e. November 28th); however, with the 8-week period that they are supposed to wait until their next vaccine appointment, the earliest we could make a booking was January 23rd (which we have done). Based on the "Severe Outcomes by Vaccination Status" graphs shown in the press conference, two doses provides significantly more protection than one (with any number of doses being preferrable to zero). That being said, there is no way that we are sending our children back to school before they have the opportunity to receive their second shot. Fortunately, we have the flexibility to do this as a family. But what about the large number of families who have no other option than to send their children back to school, or for those whose employment is school-based (who themselves have no option to strike because of the collective bargaining agreement)? Thus, it's crucial that the province delays the start of in-class learning until this present wave peaks and/or the province can adequately demonstrate that safety measures have in fact been systematically, expansively and verifiably increased at each school across every school division. Alternatively, distance options should at least be provided for families who have been advised to "look after themselves."
Finally, we already have a reliable system in place to ensure that the most people in public spaces are vaccinated, but it has not be expanded to its full potential. Only a vocal minority of Manitobans have expressed disagreement with proof of vaccination, so this should not prevent its continued use long-term. After all, there should be a lasting benefit for those who have faithfully abided by the province's strong recommendation to be vaccinated (and enduring consequences for obstinance). Also - if the province actually believes in vaccines as an important measure to contend with the Coronavirus (i.e. something "we're going to need to learn to live with…in the longer term"), then Manitoba seriously needs to consider implementing a vaccine mandate for all citizens and permanent residents, as well as requiring vaccines as a condition of attending public schools. Requirement is proven to yield more results than recommendation, and while there will always be those who stand in opposition, the cost-benefit of safeguarding life for all outweighs the preferences of individuals…otherwise, we wouldn't have laws that protect each other from harm.
All this to say, when it's communicated to us that, "it's up to Manitobans to look after themselves," what this signals is resignation and abdicating responsibility. That's not what we need from elected officials. We need you to set an example for us to follow; to inspire us to do better; to make hard decisions that will cost financial and political supporters; to answer questions honestly when asked directly; to keep calm and carry on with all of the things. That is the way out of the pandemic: not giving up.
Sincerely, X
p.s. Next time when N95 or medical grade masks are provided for Manitobans - which we as a family did not receive - please consider doing so at a location where there's more access for everyone, such as a Canada Post office. Not every community has a Liquor Mart, but even the smallest town has a post office (or is proximate to one).

Flowers in The Night Sky Bakugou // 2.6k words
Deku somehow convinced Aizawa to let 1A host a new years party on the beach. Leading everyone to help out to set things up, though throughout the day and into the night. A certain blonde classmate has been missing.
AAAAAAAAAA this wasn't my best work, but hey, I wrote this on the plane so... It is highly unedited. I hope you guys enjoy this regardless. Happy New Year's, happy holidays, Merry Christmas to those that celebrate it! Stay safe, wear your masks even if you've gotten vaccinated, be careful, and stay happy this holliday season. To those going to school soon (esp my Indonesian readers), good luck!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Satou this is so much sweets!" Uraraka yelled seeing the array of pastries and desserts all placed beautifully on one specific circular table.
"Well, class 1B and the other classes are coming over as well, we don't know their taste in desserts, it's better to have an array of choices." Momo chuckled patting Uraraka's back as she stared flabbergasted at the colourful sweets.
"I still can't believe that damn nerd somehow convinced Aizawa to let us do this." Bakugou, for once, didn't sound very angry.
The two girls smiled at him softly, noting how it must've been the holiday spirit that brought him to a joyous mood. After all, even the roughest and scowling people were moved by the new year.
From the corner of Momo's eyes, she could see Denki haphazardly trying to put on fairy lights on one of the palm trees. Quickly running over towards him just in time for him to fall, making a trampoline right below him.
"Have you seen Y/n?" Bakugou spoke towards Uraraka.
"I think they're helping Midoriya and Iida unpack the food from the car, either that or helping Kirishima set up the barbecue. Why-"
Before she even finished what she was saying he was already gone. Causing the shorter girl to sigh and chuckle to herself. The blonde boy's crush was a little too evident. How no one else saw it, especially you was a mystery she could never solve.
In the meantime, you were indeed helping Kirishima with the barbecue. Setting it up on the beach, Deku somehow convinced Aizawa to let them have a New Year's party on, was difficult. Due to the unstable ground and overall windy weather.
"Thanks for helping me out but are you sure you don't want to go with the rest and swim?" Kirishima spoke just as you were unloading the cooler filled with frozen meat from one of the cars.
You shrugged at his question, "Nah I'd rather get this set up before sundown."
Which sounded like a possible statement a couple of hours ago. But after a lot of relaxation and not setting things up, the sun was setting much quicker than they had anticipated. Thus resulting in haphazardly setting stuff up (Read; Denki).
But it was all in good fun. The entire class was having fun setting random decorations up. Plating random foods and desserts that were, thankfully, not damaged on the way here. Everyone was having the time of their lives.
Maybe except Aizawa, one look towards him and you could sense the stress radiating off of him, looking at his students. You wanted to laugh if he didn't look like he'd scold you for it if he noticed.
"Ok, now that this is done, what's next?!" You exclaimed loudly with a huff of air.
Dusting your hands and the outer layers of clothes you placed on top of your swimsuit from sand and dust.
"Nahhh I think our job's done, Midoriya and Iida over there got the food all unpacked, I think Denki and Momo got the decor."
"And Mina Jirou has the music, wonder who's going to be the DJ?"
"Obviously me!!!"
Both you and Kirishima's heads whipped towards the direction of the yell. Only to see Denki holding onto a palm tree, very, very high up.
"Do you think he'll be fine?" You asked watching your classmate tangle the tree in lights.
"Eh, he'll live if he falls."
The rest of the time went by very quickly. With everyone working together everything went smoothly and all the decorating, food, entertainment, and music were set up before the rest of the guests came.
You helped around here and there, whether that was with Aoyama to decorate, or Hagakure with putting up the beach towels. Yet, you haven't seen a specific explosive boy.
You shrugged it off, thinking he was just busy with other things. After all, he was assigned to start the barbecue later on. So when everyone started to fill in, you didn't wonder where he was.
Not until the sun had fully set and Tokoyami had called you to join the barbecue. Only to see Ojiro behind the grill, Sero handing him the frozen meats.
"Looking for a certain spiky-haired boy?" Mina's sudden question caught you completely off guard. Causing you to jump slightly before chuckling awkwardly.
"Well have you seen him around? I didn't expect him to let anyone else make the food."
The two of you chuckled remembering the first time class 1A tried cooking food. Only for Bakugou to yell at everyone cause they were doing things wrong.
"He was acting rather odd before," Shoto hummed from beside you.
Looking around one more time you wondered once again where he had gone to. All of the guests had arrived, and it was already late into the afternoon. Shinso was being dragged around by Denki whilst Tetsutetsu and Kirishima sparred jokingly. You almost laughed out loud when you saw Mineta creeping on some supporting class girls, only to get beat up by them.
It was a refreshing sight. For once most of the classes were joined together to celebrate something instead of competing for something. There wasn't any controlling rivalry around. All of you were just excited to have fun.
Though, again, it would've been better if the one person you were looking forward to seeing the fireworks with wasn't missing. Shouji, Deku, and, Kouda volunteered to set up a firework show once it hit midnight. You wanted to see it with Bakugou. Maybe even confess something you've been holding up.
After all, it was the perfect setting. Even if he was to reject you, you'd be able to move on pretty easily with the party. And yet, he was missing.
The growing worry that he might've decided to skip the new year celebrations in exchange for a good night's sleep slowly crept to you as the celebrations went on. It was a joyous night and yet here you were worried about a boy. That worry would've grown and ate at you from the inside if not for Deku who suddenly asked you to check out one of the fireworks on a secluded part of the beach.
You had your suspicion at his request, he seemed too nervous. Not to mention Uraraka side-eyeing you from where she was conversing with Mina. But seeing as how you were the only person who wasn't eating or talking to anyone you agreed. Missing the way Deku let out a sigh of relief.
Before going you looked at your watch, it was already 11.30pm, you'd have to hurry if you wanted to watch the fireworks with everyone else. Perhaps that was why Deku seemed nervous, it was almost time for the show and yet something might go wrong.
Walking to the area Deku had instructed you to go to. The music and people's chatter slowly started to fade away. Leaving you with the soft sounds of ocean waves and the subtle moonlight to accompany you. You slightly shiver and the cold, though you'd be lying if you said the quiet wasn't calming.
Deku had mentioned that there was a big red x drawn on the sand where the firework was supposed to be. From afar, you could see the x, though the firework was nowhere to be seen. Was this what Deku meant?
Walking over to the red x you used your phone flashlight to make sure it didn't get tipped over and carried by the wind somewhere. After inspecting the area you cursed to yourself.
What were you supposed to tell Deku now? Someone stole the fireworks?! Was this specific firework important to the show? Was this the fuse?
"I could hear you overthinking things again." You quickly moved your phone's flashlight towards the voice, completely surprised by it.
A relieved sigh left you when you noticed it was Bakugou all along.
"Jesus you scared the living crap out of me, where were you this entire time?" You exclaimed, sneaking a glance at the time on your watch.
Suppressing the urge to curse at yourself again. You took too long inspecting the area that it was 11.55 now, there was no way you'd make it in time to celebrate it with the rest.
"What are you doing here anyway?" The situation finally registered in your head.
It was odd that Bakugou was nowhere to be seen. Only to appear in the spot Deku instructed you to go to check the fireworks. Why would he be here?
Wait.
"It doesn't matter, you probably won't make it back in time for the show, so just stay here."
You squinted your eyes at him, if there was more light you swore Bakugou was blushing a bit.
"Then what are you doing so far away?!" You questioned chuckling slightly seeing as how he was at quite the distance behind beside where you were standing.
You swore he looked even more flustered at your question. You were about to tease him about it when a sudden boom caught your attention.
Your head quickly whipped back towards the shoreline, watching the fireworks suddenly decorate the sky. Your lips twitched to a large smile.
The fireworks distracted you enough to not notice Bakugou making his way over towards you. Until he was standing right beside you.
"They almost look like blooming flowers." You mused, mostly to yourself.
Not paying attention to the way Bakugou's eyes were staring at you. Completely enamoured by the way your features were lit up with the light from fireworks.
"Hey, Bakugou, I want to tell you something," You started turning towards him.
Only to stop what you were about to say when you faced him. Your eyes met with one another and suddenly the entire world seemed to disappear. The sounds of exploding fireworks seemed so distant, the crashing of waves suddenly silent.
The two of you stared at one another for a few more moments. Before you saw Bakugou swallowed thickly, then slowly closing the distance between the two of you. Your breath hitched against your throat as he moved even closer.
Your lips were so close together that you practically could feel his breath against your skin. Deciding to take the final step you smashed your lips against his. Closing your eyes tightly, not wanting to see his shocked expression.
He froze for a moment before realization set in and he kissed back.
When you both pulled away, a large smile decorated your features. Laughing loudly at the bright red on Bakugou's cheeks.
"Goddamnit! Why'd you do that idiot?!"
For a second, ice ran through your veins. What did he mean? Did he not want you to kiss him? But he sent so many signals.
"I can already tell you're overthinking," He huffed out, clearly frustrated, "I had this whole shit planned out and you just had to ruin it!"
You were now completely confused. That was until he pulled out what he was hiding behind his back this entire time. A bouquet of beautiful flowers.
"I was supposed to be the one to make a comment about the fireworks looking like flowers, then give you these damn flowers!"
You laughed even louder hearing his explanation. Seeing the large flustered scowl on his face.
"So that was the reason you were gone this entire time??"
It wasn't even a question, you knew this was why he was gone this entire time. It surprised you that Deku seemed to go with the plan. Thinking back to how nervous he was, he probably got threatened to get you to this spot.
You took the bouquet from his hands and gave him a sincere smile after taking a whiff of the amazing smelling plants. His eyes widened at the sight. You truly did look too good for this world.
"Ow stop pushing!"
"Shush he's going to hear us."
"Tell that to Sero he won't stop pushing me."
"You're the one pushing me!"
"Both of you have to quiet down, Bakugou is going through a romantic moment and we cannot ruin it for our classmate!"
You and Bakugou immediately looked in the direction of Momo's, Denki's, Sero's, and Iida's voices. Only for a bunch of your classmates to tumble out of their hiding spots behind a couple packed palm trees. Denki and Sero wrestled with each other as they tried to push one another.
"You damn nerds were watching this whole time?!?!?!"
Suddenly all their heads whipped towards Bakugou's direction. All of their eyes widened as they realized. They were caught.
"URARAKA WAS THE ONE WHO TOLD US!" Sero quickly yelled before sprinting away.
"Really?" Bakugou spoke, almost menacingly, his hands already sparking.
"MIDORIYA TOLD SHOTO!" Uraraka quickly yelled out before also running away.
Bakugou's attention then quickly was directed back at Deku who slowly walked backwards as he walked closer to him. The tension broke when Deku took off running, only for Bakugou to yell at him and chase after him as well.
You laughed loudly seeing the two run around. All the while you clutched the bouquet close to your chest.
"How did you know the plan?" You asked Jirou as the group sat down on the sand around the area, watching the leftover fireworks.
"Bakugou only told Midoriya and Uraraka, so it just kind of spread from the people they told," she shrugged.
You sat down with her and looked around the area, noticing a single person missing.
"Wait where's Mineta?"
"I believe he's still getting beaten up by the supporting class's girls."
You rolled your eyes and Tokoyami's statement. Wondering how someone could be as openly perverted as Mineta.
"Are you sure you guys don't want to join the party?" You questioned everyone in general once Bakugou stopped chasing Deku.
"The party was fun, but it's nice to have some quiet you know? Just some time to relax." Hagakure hummed out.
"New year, more troubles."
You heard Tsuyu speak, causing most of the students to chuckle out. It was true though. Whilst a new year means new beginnings and new opportunities. It also means a new year filled with hectic training, dangerous encounters with the LOV, and tiring schoolwork.
Bakugou took a seat on the sand beside you. Leaning just enough to the side to touch shoulders with you.
"When this is all over with, it'll be worth it." You stated, excited for the time all of your closest friends in the class would rise up as the new generation of heroes.
This new year seemed more bittersweet than the last times. The year had been filled with so much more trouble than you thought was possible. So many injuries and bad memories plaguing the months.
But on the other hand, there were so many highs. From the rescue of Eri, the little girl who didn't deserve all the things done to her, to the more light-hearted times like the Christmas celebration. Or even the more competitive beginnings of 1A, like the sports festival event.
And finally, there was the highlight of the year. The knowledge of your crush likes you back. You smiled to yourself, turning your head to look at the boy beside you.
He must've noticed a pair of eyes watching him as he also turned towards you.
"What!?"
You chuckled, "Nothing, I just like you a lot Bakugou."
The statement caught him completely off guard. His face once again, adorning a deep red hue.
"I like you too dumbass." He spoke just above a whisper.
Turning back to look at the last of the fireworks. You smiled once again and rested your head on his shoulder.
"Happy New year."

Can you tell I tried to involve all the students? At first I wanted to make this just a whole party without the pairings. But tbh I just wanted to write flustered Bakugou. I hope you guys enjoyed this! I might have some more New Years themed fics on its way for all the fandoms I write for.
But I have to finish them and y'all know how lazy I can get with shit like these soooooo no promises!!!

009 :: rule follower extraordinaire.
i hate covid. and i'm so so sick of it. i'm sick of the polarizing opinions and worrying that my kids will get sent home from school again. i'm sick of getting a cold and feeling like a jerk when, testing negative, i still have to go outside because my life can't be put on pause because of a cold. i'm sick of so much. i'm sure you're all sick of covid too and i bet you have so many more reasons that could be added to that list. so do i.
but i have this thing that keeps cropping up every time i hear that some countries or parts of countries are loosening up their covid restrictions. it's not a fear of getting sick or of someone i love getting sick. it's a fear of what is going to happen when this finally goes away.
i remember how uncomfortable it was to adjust to covid. to have long stretches of separation from my friends and family due to quarantine. having so much information flying around that you couldn't keep up and definitely couldn't tell what was true. restrictions would be put in place and removed so randomly that it felt like whip lash.
but the worst part of all of it was the shift of relationships. one of my very important friendships fell apart because she took mine&my family's stance on vaccinations as offensive. and then took it personally, even though i promise it never was. i hate conflict and i hate confrontation and i'm very good at disagreeing with people and working damn hard to make sure our disagreements don't cause us to fall apart. she seemed to decide that it wasn't worth making it work. and now we're months out. i've done so much to try to broker peace, and it's made absolutely no difference to her. my olive branch has not been reciprocated.
so i'm tired of trying and i'm taking a break for a while.
i think where the fear of covid going away comes from is that there's going to potentially have to be a big awakening of what a bunch of babies we've been over this whole thing. we've been big selfish, whiny, "i'm right your wrong", babies. i can adjust to someone deciding they're bailing out of our friendship. but i'm not looking forward to any more attempts at repair because it's awkward and uncomfortable and now there's a new layer of "oh this is who you really are". i don't know that i need that in my life. right now i can hide behind covid and restrictions and family rules doing our best to follow government rules because even when they SUCK i believe they should have some element of respect. this does not always apply, obviously, but hi, i'm erin. rule follower extraordinaire.
i can't be sure this is coming across right. maybe i'm completely misinterpreting where my anxiety comes from any time i hear that we're moving in the right direction when it comes to this virus. maybe it's just that i have a deep loathing towards change and i've finally adjusted to this new chaotic world. so much so that any movement back to the old normal feels like new change and ew. no thanks from me.
for now, erin.

Had the grand misfortune of seeing your posts in the BTS tag and I am concerned with amount of rage you have. Yeah, it's normal and alright to have different opinions from others but the way how you state your opinions is dripping with hatred. Idk why you believe that every single Army stupidly ships them with each other - maybe some do it for fun but obviously the ones who are dead serious are delusional. Some "fans" do that with every single group - ship the member with each other as if they can't all just be friends. And why are you shitting on people for having BTS as a source of comfort or whatever? It's better than having Taylor Swift or Justin Beiber or anything other plain ass artist. At least BTS constantly speak up on Mental Health, actually care for their fanbase and provide a lot of content for them. Is that such a crime now???
“Grand Misfortune” that would make a great title for a book or a movie. It’d have to be series or franchise film. “Amount of rage” “dripping with hate” you’re really aiming for the punchlines here anon. Still, it’s nothing I haven’t heard before so check the #boring tag for more responses. I made it specifically for you anons who love grasping at straws.
“Why are you shitting on people for having BTS as a source of comfort or whatever”…. or whatever? You should’ve been more specific anon, but I’ll bite... hold on to your seats and don’t read the rest of this ask if you’re not interested in me shattering the delusional views of BTS or whatever sense of comfort you’re clutching on to.
Also, I hate repeating myself but it has to be said: I’m not here to say things people would like to hear or wouldn’t like to hear. I’m not an unpopular opinions blog. I’m simply here to state my opinions and you’re always free to disagree. Just don’t disagree so callously (especially in my replies or inbox) because I won’t spare your feelings. As for the whole “BTS is my comfort” thing. It’s weird. It’s weird to seek comfort in 7 men you don’t know who all likely have fabricated personas. What’s even weirder is being so invested in their lives. There’s a word for it you know: Parasocial Relationships. I know I just linked an article to Teen Vogue, but the writer did a decent job of highlighting both the positives and negatives. And I didn’t want to link a scientific journal and get too technical on you all.
“It’s better than having Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber”. Is it really though? You only think it’s better because you believe BTS share a “different”message (loving yourself, mental health, vaccinations lol). But what if I told you it was all fabricated? All company-driven narratives and the members are simply puppets on a string in the grand scheme of things? What if I told you everything they’ve ever said or done was for marketing purposes to grow the fanbase and increase company profits?
Okay maybe that’s a stretch, but you’d probably scream blasphemy. “You’re wrong. BigHit or BTS would never do that. They view us as people, not walking cash cows. BTS are genuine. They’re not like other kpop groups and BigHit isn’t like other kpop companies. They’re different. They’re not like other girls. The reason there’s new merch released every week is to provide fans comfort not to increase revenue streams. Bon Voyage and In The Soop are vacations for BTS, not to give ARMYs more ship content and more nonsense to fawn over. BTS care about me so shut your mouth”. Lol, sorry I was only stating some arguments I’ve heard. There’s more but I think that’s enough.
Did you know that back in 2017 BigHit conducted a marketing survey on the fandom to gain a better understating of which direction they should head in with BTS’s overall music and message? Hence, the sudden shift from the rag-tag hip-hop group of guys to the soft “love yourself, love myself” mental health crusade. It wasn’t a coincidence or a sign of “growth” on the members’ part. No. It was all a purposeful, aggressive marketing tactic to garner new fans and build closer bonds in this entire fan economy. And guess what? It worked. Kudos to Bang PD.
Bangtan Sonyeondan: here today, gone tomorrow. I just hope the most talented members are able to jump ship (go solo) before the whole thing actually sinks. A bottle of alcohol would provide you more comfort because at least that’s never going anywhere. Haha jk. All forms of addictions are concerning. Anyway, for the past year+ now HYBE has been investing in ways to ease the burden that BTS and ARMYs are their biggest cash cows (acquiring other groups/companies, real estate, tech acquisitions, all that good stuff). They want to ensure that even after BTS stops promoting the company will be here to stay. It’s not personal, it’s just business. HYBE was able to grow this big thanks to BTS. They were able to go public thanks to BTS. Bang PD is able to do everything he wants to do now all thanks to BTS. Yet what does he give them in return? Less than 2% of ownership in the company, zero official promotions for their mixtapes and solo releases, restricted schedules full of burnout, and most importantly he has created hierarchies between the members, a toxic environment within the fandom, allowing akgaes to run wild. Well at least BTS have earned lots of money from it, and pretty trophies, and chart positions, and get to do what they love (music). Also ARMY loves them and would consume anything with their faces on it, so I guess it’s a win-win….right?
This ask took a turn. I probably could’ve left things at “I think it’s weird to find comfort in 7 men who don’t even know you exist” but where’s the fun in that? :)
***For further insights this individual sums things up well and includes all the nitty-gritty details I was too lazy to add. This post too. Keep in mind I don’t know this person. I’ve never spoken to them in my life. I simply came across their posts on this public platform called Tumblr, so don’t bother sending your hate boners in their direction. xoxo.
Side note: I’m not saying the members don’t actually care about you loving yourself and your mental health. They’re good people. Or at least most of them are. But you’d be a fool to think their company (BigHit) hasn’t played a huge role in the direction of their music, messages to fans, media play, and basically every single piece of content they’ve released since the day of their debut.
