In 2020, we had a classic lit au, now we go broader in our literary appreciation for those of us who only know The Scarlet Letter as the inspiration for Easy A. That’s right, it’s time to entrance your ocs into your favorite books whether that be a classical Jane Austen novel about a woman fighting for independence and true love in a world where girls must marry to achieve favorable social standing and economic security, a childhood defining series about self-discovery like Percy Jackson, or a murder-mystery where curious teenage girl is determined to solve the poorly investigated murder of a former queen bee. Which of your favourite literary characters inspired your oc? How would your oc react to being faced with the conflict of your favourite book?

Happy Doomcraft Doomsday 2022!
After the fall of the Hermitblr Discord Server back in January 2022, Demise has come back - this time on a different Server with a different name, Doomsday! The event is modded by the wonderful @ambered-glazed-sheep and their amazing mod team! This year, there are 16 players, and I'm really excited to try to hit at least everyone once or twice!
The Rules are:
You can only attack people who are participating in the event! (Of course, you can still draw characters of other people! However, that will not be considered part of Doomsday)
You can attack other participants by putting your creation of their character into doomsday-attacks and pinging them on Discord.
You can't attack the same person again until they've defended themselves from your first attack, or died.
If you are attacked, you can defend yourself (by creating art for your attacker) within a timeframe of 48 hours.
You only get one life!
You can defend for other people!
You can check whether a person is alive or dead by their roles (on Discord).
There are no specific rules about forming teams!
Attacks don't have to be murder/Halloween themed! However, they can be!
If you want to draw something more dark or bloody, please check the refs channel beforehand to see if the person you're attacking specified anything about that.
You can sign out of the event at any time, just let a mod know!
The sign-ups closed Sep 29th and the game started 8am CEST and there's already been so many attacks! I cannot wait to see how everything turns out and who will be the winners this year!
Each person was able to submit 5 characters into the game, and I put in four!
9w3n 0 (Gwen Cypher) (They/It/She)
They are a character I played on the New Dawn SMP back in Nov. 2021 (I haven't redrawn her ref in a while haha). They are very nervous and doesn't know a lot of stuff from this era and is most familiar with things from the Beta update, like Red Beds and wolves. Endermen are new to them, and whatever a stronghold is? They are very drawn to it and all the new things like Fences!!! What do you mean, they came out several years ago? And where’s her friends? What do you mean Herobrine isn’t real? They are an Allay Elf Hybrid, think BIG rounded ears with blue insides, small wings, and occasionally a tail!
Milo Fern (He/Him)
(I don't have a good photo of Milo yet) Milo is a character I made back in 2020/early 2021 from a TikTok OC challenge about mixing three DSMP creators and seeing what you make! I combined Wilbur Soot, Fundy, and Ranboo and got Milo. He’s played a part of a helpful farm boy who loves to play guitar and hang out with his boyfriend. He has a lot of anxiety and can be very paranoid. He loves redstone, but feels like it’s going to explode if he gets a small detail wrong. Milo's also a retired L'manburg soldier, but I don't really know how to work that into his story yet.
Scaps K. Pigeon-Patch (He/They)
My rip-off GoodtimeswithScar D&D character.
(This image has his backpack on, the one I posted on the Doomcraft server doesn't have it.) He’s just a halfling with elf like ears and sometimes a tail. When I originally designed him I was thinking of the Borrowers and the Littles, I wanted him to have those vibes. He likes to bite people when they try to shake his hand. My DM wrote my backstory and I won't put it here just in case someone in my campaign sees this. He likes to eat soap :)
Penelope “Poppy” System (They/She/He/It)
It's just IRL me, I wanted to add ghostbuster stuff because that's what I've been into recently and I did draw that photo of my buddy Dylan sooo... I used that photo for convenience.
I cannot wait to see what other attacks happen, and I am so glad to be a part of this, this year! I'll be posting my attacks here and @ing the people I attack, so please be on the lookout for that!

also for the same art challenge as the prev one (same prompt too lmao). fun fact did you know that "i"'ve had this ghost costume since (checks old art) uhh around 2019 ("i" is in air quotes because it's not irl lol. only in art). it was originally made for a big collab animation meme as part of a costume for a different oc (which used to be my sona) and ever since then i've been making oc art with this costume for halloween (2020, 2021, i don't think i did this in 2022).

I saw a Halloween Stranger Things challenge:

And this idea wouldn't leave my mind.
It's not a full length/more of a drabble if anything (only 500 words), but I didn't want to just let the idea die in my head. So I took a short break from my WIP to just jot something down quick.
Prompts: Eddie Munson - Ghost - "Did you think they could protect you?"
Even in Death
Wavy brown hair popped up from behind the preset barrier. Lights flickered around them, and they could only watch as the table between them hovered slightly and crashed back down to the ground.
“Did you think they could protect you?”
The voice came from Eddie, but it was distorted. Warped in a way only he would be able to imagine. A character only he could create.
“You are all that’s left. Their fate lies on you. Do you flee or stay and fight?”
Eyes darted between all members of their party before landing solely on Mike. Defensiveness took over his posture as he threw up his hands backing away.
“What?! You can’t expect me to seriously take this on by myself! I’m barely standing as it is!”
“It’s not like we haven’t had to fight solo before!”
Dustin began to argue against the objection, and Lucas jumped in to aid the counter argument. Gareth was next to voice his opinion. Then Will. Bickering broke out, slowly building intensity until the words themselves could no longer be deciphered amongst the noise.
“Erica did the–”
"Lady Applejack!”
“It’s not possible—”
“Of course it’s–’
“You have to avenge—”
”Run away? We can’t–”
"Do you think I—”
Once more the table lifted from the ground, pieces shaking and tipping over in the process. Once more it slammed to the ground with a crash. But this time the lights went out with it. The decorations surrounding the space toppled to the ground and littered the floor around them. And once all else came to a halt, dice rolled to land next to Mike’s shoes.
“Do you flee or do you stand?!”
Silence. Shifting eyes. Nobody was going to be the first to interject after that spectacle. Almost nobody.
“Dammit, Munson! You remember the last time you wasted all your… poltergeist shit, or whatever makes you go, on these damn nerd games? Do you want to just poof off again?!”
Harrington. Always the babysitter, even for the dead.
“Come on, just having a bit of fun. Lighten up, big boy.”
“Stop it with that! And no!”
A new chorus of objections began to interject.
“Aww, Steve, he knows what he’s doing–”

FNAF OC - Bianca the bat

I drew this for a challenge over on the FNAF amino.
Day 21 of the October challenge and inspiration finally hit like a truck for me to draw something based off the prompt.
I like bats.
I may enjoy the scary side of Halloween, but I also equally love the side that is cutesy ghosts and pumpkins.
So I made a witch bat animatronic.
Her name is Bianca.
The top part of the dress is built into her suit and the skirt is attached on using the belt - the belt being a part of the skirt. She has little figurines of ghosts on strings on her arms attached near the joints. The hat is a simple costume hat with holes cut into it so the ears can slip through. Her eyes are just black voids because 1 - it's cute as heck, and 2 - bats are blind so it fits.
I'm putting this girl into my AU, so here are the details about her: She is a creation of Smith & Tea robotics, ergo, not a dangerous animatronic (unless it gets posessed, but wouldn't even a toaster be safe until posessed). She is not blind, as her optical sensors are behind the one way black tinted mirror that makes her eyes look like black voids. Her programmed voice lines imply that she loves pumpkins and finds ghosts adorable. She also glows in the dark like those stars that you can stick on your ceiling, but she has to be under the light a lot so she can glow, so she spends a lot of time directly under a studio grade spotlight, but at least she was made heat resistant to counter this.

Welcome to the OC Halloween Challenge 2020!
For those of you who do not know and even those who do, the OC Halloween Challenge is a month-long Halloween themed challenge for OC creators. It is designed to encourage creativity, foster community, and have fun! Also, special thanks to @randomestfandoms-ocs for being my biggest help this year!
To participate in the OC challenge, you can make any kind of edit (unless it is more specified) or writing for the following themes leading up to and on Halloween! Some of these have guidelines/suggestions, but this is very much a free-for-all so you can ignore them if you don’t want them.

Week One: Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid.
Day Two: Found Footage.
Locket Lokidottir, Richard Creed, Victoria Von Doom, Lucas, Alex Sterns and Tamora Schmidt in Host (2020).
With the United States in Lockdown due to COVID-19, a group of friends, Locket, Richard, Victoria, Lucas, Alex and Tamora, stay in contact through their weekly zoom calls, and in the latest zoom call, Locket decided to hire a medium so they could try and host a séance. But when Victoria decides to play a prank and make up a ghost, the group soon find themselves being haunted for real and the haunting soon starts to turn deadly as the group have to get rid of the ghost before he picks them all off.

in which chelsea and klaus didn’t become famous by fighting crime, but used their superpowers to become youtube celebrities.
check does all the research, providing proof that every case they take on has a normal, completely natural explanation. klaus shoots her down every time, providing baseless and outlandish stories about the ghosts and demons that really haunt these dangerous spots.
of course, none of their viewers know that klaus really can speak to the dead. they think it’s just another gimmick for the videos. just like the running joke about their “ghost cameraman” and the trick shots of their levitating camera.

Your oc as their own Disney Princess,
When Princess Allison of House Argent in the country Beaconia goes missing the day before her father is set to announce his retirement from the throne, blame is quick to fall on Princess Esme. It’s easily believed, Esme is a bastard child, and a known werewolf sympathizer.
With her Aunt Kate leading the charge, Esme is sentenced to exile. She’s sent away with a promise from her father, find Allison and you will be welcomed home by the people. Along with her lady-in-waiting, Princess Lydia Martin, she must prove that it was not her who threw her sister to the wolves.
(Allison, who’s shacked up with Alpha Scott McCall in one of the hidden werewolf villages where kidnappers were told to leave her; you threw me to wolves and I become their queen instead)
