did you see PORTIA MCGARRETT wandering around the island today? they kind of look like ANNIE MURPHY from certain angles? i heard around town that the NONNA'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT WAITRESS is SOCIABLE, and CAPABLE, but also FRAZZLED, and STUBBORN. people say that they remind them of STAINED DESIGNER TEES, THE SOUND OF A NEWLY-AWOKEN BABY, and CRYING IN YOUR CAR, and COMING HOME, PT. II by SKYLAR GREY is definitely their theme song. they seem like a nice enough person, but we all know how hard it is to keep a pristine reputation in a small town.

background:

as the second child in a wealthy family, portia mcgarrett grew up with the mindset that she could get away with anything she wanted: staying out late, being callous to the other girls on the playground, etc. anything she wanted to do, she could, with little to no consequences. those were for her oldest and youngest siblings, but not for portia.

so, as a teenager, portia used her built-in wealth to her advantage. you can't buy happiness, but with enough hollister tees in the year 2006, you could buy status. however, being in the cheerleading squad for all four years of high school ( and captain for her final one ) certainly helped.

as a teenager, she had a pretty innocent connection with a boy who didn't exactly have many brain cells, but he could play guitar. that's all that mattered to her. she was still planning on leaving him once she would finally become a groupie for jesse mccartney out of high school, but it was nice while it lasted.

but she never was jesse mccartney's groupie.

instead, she went to college in boston.

for a semester.

and then, portia promptly got together with the first young, self-made millionaire she could find. once that happened, she figured maybe college wasn't urgent. so, putting her best thinking skills to the test, she dropped out.

this guy lasted around two years before dumping her for good, but portia got back on her feet in no time. three months after the breakup, she was seeing another guy just like him.

this cycle went on for ten years. with every new boyfriend, portia found herself bouncing around from place to place, never having to worry about a career of her own. after all, if her boyfriends were successful, why would she have to worry? being successful isn't hard. her dad did it, her exes did it. now, being a good girlfriend? that's hard.

and then, when she's 28 years old, she gets pregnant. three months later, when portia is about to be 29, her boyfriend leaves. with nowhere to go, portia returns home with no money to her name and no idea what the hell she's going to do.

portia's son, jackson mcgarrett, is now a year old, and somehow, portia is just as lost as she was when she first got back here. she works as a waitress at the local italian restaurant, but it's still barely enough to scrape by, especially with the pennies in tips she gets around here from the entitled rich folks, the same people she would have been a part of had this never happened to her. she lives in a shoebox apartment in kings haven, and it's not like she can afford a nanny. what money would she pay them with? she's happy for her growth, and she's happy for her son, but god damn, would she kill for her life back.

Another change for the Bruise / Lost / BlackOpal AU (oh shit I need an actual name for this help), I'm bringing in an OC in the ToE arc.

You remember Mr. Pale? Not a big fan. He was just an invisible guy who could make his clothes invisible too, shoot balls of light that IIRC didn't do much, and in that one episode of Hunted, he made a group of people invisible?

I feel like the Element of Light could have more potential than that.

I have an OC that I'm using in a Percy Jackson RP server on Discord. For those who don't know, Percy Jackson is a novel series based around teenagers with one mortal parent and one godly parent from Greek mythology. For example, Percy, the titular character, is the son of Poseidon, Greek god of the sea. Annabeth, Percy's girlfriend, is the daughter of Athena, Greek goddess of war and knowledge.

My OC's name is Cristopher "Cris" Banks. He is the son of Apollo, the Greek god of light, healing, music, poetry, archery, the sun, and basically a million other things.

So what if in my AU, Mr. Pale got replaced by my OC, Cris? And an additional power I think he could use would be a hard-light manipulation (think MCU Ms. Marvel), which was a power I had originally wanted in the Percy Jackson server, but it got denied.

And expanding on that idea: What if Skylar wasn't the only elemental master to be an integral part of a later arc? I could have Cris be dragged into the ghost shit, with his hard-light manipulation being an effective weapon against ghosts, because ghosts are typically weak in light or whatever. His special Photokinesis wouldn't quite be the ultimate tool against them, however, so that Kai gaining his Water powers is still something important.

“Great work teams, please head off to the locker rooms,” Harry announced over the stadium’s speakers. “The second match will begin in 15 minutes.”

The defenders and Twitch and Blackbeard sat up from their ‘dead’ positions and stretched out their limbs while exchanging compliments. Madison groaned as she shook out any cramps in her legs. “Damnit, Blackbeard, that was dirty,” she commented.

“Gotta sharpen your reflexes,” Blackbeard replied with a chuckle before heading down the stairs with a few others following after him, trapped in their own conversations. Madison headed down the stairs as well, ready to just kick back and relax in her apartment. An arm wrapped around her and a body smacked into her, causing her to stumble forward. She whipped her head to see Mira. 

“Good job, mi amiga! You kicked butt in those first few rounds!” Mira cheered. Madison chuckled. “Oh please, you kicked more ass than me,” she replied.

Mira slipped her arm off Madison’s shoulders and pulled off her helmet. She wiped away her war paint and sighed of relief. “I’m just glad it’s over. Shame we lost though,” she commented. Madison only nodded at the comment. The two walked out of the stadium and entered the defenders’ locker room. Mira unlocked her locker and tossed her helmet into it. She ran her fingers through her brunette hair. “So you and Lion… Ever start talking about marriage?” she questioned.

Madison nearly choked at the sudden question. She opened her locker and began to remove her training gear. Her face heated up and her chest tightened. Marriage was something on her mind but she had yet to ask Lion about it. “Uh… Well, no, not really,” she answered. 

“What, really? But you two have been dating for nearly two years now. How have you not discussed it yet?” Mira replied. 

Madison shrugged her shoulders and placed her gear neatly in her locker. “I don’t know. It came up in passing when Skylar and Tachanka got married but we never talked about us getting married,” she explained, “I’m not sure if Lion wants to. I’m not even sure if I want to.” 

“I mean, I think you guys should at least think about it. You guys did go through a lot. You both hated each other, then realized the both of you are fine, you nearly died, he nearly died,” Mira listed off, “plus that pregnancy scare a few months back.”

Madison sighed, “Just because we’ve been through a lot doesn’t mean we should get married,” she replied, “I just don’t want to rush anything.”

Mira nodded. “I understand, amiga,” she said as she shut her locker door. She fixed up her clothes and pushed out any wrinkles. She nudged Madison, “Gotta make sure the asshole’s right for you!” she teased.

Madison rolled her eyes as she shut her locker. She snickered at Mira’s little joke before leaving the locker room. She had left just in time to see Lion, in full training gear, leaving for the stadium’s arena. “Olivier!” she shouted as she rushed over to him. 

Lion stopped and turned to face his girlfriend. He smiled under his mask. “Mon chéri,” he greeted as he lifted up his masks. “You did well, Madi.”

“Thank you,” she smiled and took his gloved hands into her slim ones. He pushed strands of her hair out of her face and she looked up at him. 

“What’s wrong, Madi?” Lion questioned with concern deep in his tone.

Madison sighed, she could never hide anything from Lion. He had gotten too good at dissecting her expressions and body language. She huffed and squeezed his hand. “I hate how you read me so easily…” she muttered. She cleared her throat. “Fine, I need to talk to you about something. So come straight home when you finish up,” she explained. 

Concern spread across his face. He glanced around before dragging Madison away from the others heading to the stadium arena. His hands ran up her arms and leaned in close. Lion let out a sigh of relief. He dropped his head before looking back up at her. “Wait, about what? Is everything okay?” he asked.

“Yes, yes! God, Olivier, I fucking love the utter shit outta you. I just got confused over something and we need to discuss something,” Madison replied, “It’s not bad, I just need to some clarification.”

“Will all attackers and defenders for the second match please enter the arena now?” Harry’s voice called out through the speakers.

Madison planted a kiss on Lion’s mask. “Go,” she said, “Go kick some ass.”

Lion nodded and backed away. He readjusted his backpack and headed off into the arena with the rest of his teammates. The topic Madison wished to talk about lingered in the back of his mind. It created an unnerving feeling upon his shoulders.
