thinking about how interesting the black family could be as a whole but fannon has twisted their personalities so deeply that they’re unrecognizable and refuses to write them as the morally grey/dark characters that they are !!

sirius perpetuating the views of his family in his first year as a gryffindor and having james always correct him. sirius suffering through his teenage years because he wants to please his family so badly so he learns to lie and manipulate but at the same time feels conflicted and wants to be a good person bc … the potters

regulus being a assumed death eater who honestly hated his brother bc he was the perfect heir but now he has to do sirius’ work. give me regulus enjoying hurting people because it pleased his family and he was hungry for acceptance to then later find out voldemort secret and completely freak out and how that affected his morals

bellatrix being the crazy one where all the expectations were on her and craving ambition so when the opportunity arose she took it without hesitance becoming voldemort most trusted follower. but also give me bellatrix being so annoyed and angry at andromeda and sirius for leaving all of them because family should come before everything and do they not see the sacrifices she made for all of them, being the eldest ??

narcissa and her perfect life and how she alone uphold the black family moto while everyone else was either in jail/dead or burned from the family tree so she took it up to herself to carry her family’s name and honor. give me narcissa agreeing with voldemort’s ideals of blood purity but not agreeing with the violence and the killing. give me narcissa seeing andromeda across the room and not being able to reach but wanting too because that’s her big sister but knowing she can’t because she betrayed them all for an inferior being and narcissa kind of hates her but she really doesn’t

give me andromeda missing her sisters so much and wondering how they were doing. give me internal conflict and guilt for leaving her family behind but also no regret because she loved ted and her daughter so much. give me her visiting bella in azkaban because she wanted to see her because she’s still her sister even if she hates her.

give me blacks and their family DRAMA !! give me complicated emotions forged upon years of abuse and sibling competition. missing each other and doing nothing about it so much so that it’s bellatrix who kills sirius which makes it even more heartbreaking. give me their mistaking painful longing with hate.

Wolf isn't the only one that deals with nightmares about the past, especially the nightmares about losing the love of your life.

But the nightmares are just that, bad dreams that tell a story of fear and things that never came to be, as when these nightmares pass come the comfort and reassurance that what was seen wasn't real, and that they are both still there and alive.

dating when you're a shonen character must be so hard because all of your formative experiences are so tied into what happened when you and your friends had the Big Plot Events going on. how would you even comprehend sharing that with someone outside of your circle

#i guess it's easier for shinigami characters in bleach or shinobi characters in naruto because these are common occupatonal occurences #but i'm mainly thinking about ichigo/orihime/uryu/chad and their extremely specific histories #that could never translate into something understandable to an outsider – say. an oc – they're dating #for better or for worse some people are just going to be the only people that 'get it' having been there for the 'it' in question #you can't put it into words. you don't want to either so you stick to the people who don't NEED you to explain it to them #that's a dynamic that's interesting to me – especially when you consider that those 4 know more about each other than their own families do #their civilian/other lives are entwined; they fight together but they also hang out frequently #i don't like freely using the term 'found family' but there's really no other explanation for it #for better or for worse but mostly out of necessity these people WILL be in each other's lives at least tangentially until they die #it would be way easier for me to picture hisagi dating some random shinigami oc than say. Second of all: what was the florist like while she was alive? Did she and the prince/Vanessa know each other in any capacity, like were they tight? Or is this a(n objectively devastating but narratively hilarious) case of this poor customer service worker doing her job and serving a dude some flowers and literally got murdered over it (along with everyone she knows)? Bc if so then OOF

She knew them in the sense that the royal family regularly ordered flowers from her (dad’s) business (she took over once he got older- he passed away before the whole ice fiasco) and she had a hand full of interactions with the Prince.

In short, she knew of both of them, and had opinions as far as politics go, but she really didn’t know either of them personally

Personality wise, she mostly spent time with her dad and working. She’s mostly cheery and calm, but she can get a bit wild if she finds someone she really meshes with.

I feel so bad for zephyr, what are some of her happiest memories? Would it be first meeting the members of her local group? I assume they would be built after her, was she excited about them being built or was she not informed at all?

she wouldn't be very... Present. most likely hadn't managed to be there for every Iterator when they first came online. she is very removed from most of her group because she's unable to stick in the chats for too long with all the damage and her endless attempts to conserve herself as much as possible, so her interactions with others outside of the Anemoi (and this one guy called Orion's Pathway) are extremely limited

Boreas, though, ever the life-saver, updates her on any new Iterator projects being build, how are the already existing ones doing- see she is kind of hard to cheer up and as a rule she never really laughs, but oh hearing about successes of others always manages to make her happy. that has been a thing for her since day one!

so Boreas would make a list of the Eo group's achievements with Euros and Orion's help and he'd read them out for her during their routine calls. those calls are probably one of her happiest memories, since she got so much serotonin and motivation out of hearing about her family (n also just in general- their start might've been rocky but Zeph n B really really love each other [platonically ofc])

they might not Know her, only be aware that their senior is called Abet Zephyr and her appearances are strangely rare, but she loves them all. if she hadn't, it wouldn't be called Mission Self-preservation. it'd be way more revenge focused. her number one priority is the safety of her family even if she doesn't know them personally. she puts them above her anger, physical and emotional trauma cuz she just fuckin loves them that much

her other happy memories include some stuff with Sparrows! after Zephyr allows her opinion about the Ancients develop, she finds herself glad whenever Sparrows would show up to do some more repairs and spend some time with the old humidifier. jgklsdmclk just like with a grandma, Sparrows would show her some stuff on her phone/Mechanic's watch and Zeph would be confused about it but she gets to spend the time with someone she likes so it's okay

along with Euros on a call the three of them would sing folk songs from Sparrows' home with Boreas usually listening in, very rarely joining in

Zephyr wasn't given overseers until Sparrows showed up for the first time, too, so when she synced with the eyes and took a peak outside for the first time in her life, that was... that stuck with her as a strong memory, too. can't exactly say it was a Happy memory, but only cuz there was so much happening in her emotionally in that moment that simplifying it to a singular one wouldn't really represent it right

#damian has a very complicated relationship with his mother #he was also closer to malcolm but then he died and he had to take care of the rest of the family when he was still so so young #he had this huge burden on his shoulders and tried to do his best but it wast just never enough #for leandra at least #they drifted further apart after bethany's death and there was no way for the relationship to ever be what they used to be #when malcolm was alive #they loved each other but also resented each other at the same time for the choices they made and didn't make #only after she was dead with their relationship still in disrepair damian forgave her completely #he wanted to make her happy so much that he did everything to please her and even doted on her at times #but they didn't know how not to be quiet beyond plesantaries when they were in the same room #and that hurt damian more than anything i think #that they didn't talk anymore #:( #oc: damian #oc tag
