the end of book one has me reeling

ava mouthing “please don’t take her from me” as she collapses because she got fucking stabbed and she’s still worried about teresa

teresa escaped the bindings and helped take down murphy but also got bit in the process

“thank you... thank you for coming for me.” / ava rests a hand on teresa’s cheek, rain smearing the blood and dirt on the detective’s skin. “you’re welcome.”

the normally collected ava absolutely losing it while cradling teresa

and now it’s onto book two for even more soft touches and yearning and longing gazes and repression

some teresa facts since I’m replaying her

raised bilingual - spanish and english. learned a few other languages between high school and college, but understands more than she speaks with them.

her order at haley’s is almost always chai and a chocolate croissant

she has multiple houseplants that are all named

eventually adopts a black kitten who seems to be attached to ava and will purr loudly at her feet until she pulls him into her lap anytime she visits

has the cozy apartment with neutral and earthy tones, incense, and lots of fluffy blankets

her relationship with rebecca has always been a little strained with her mother’s absences. it’s part of the reason why she tends to be a people-pleaser and desperate for approval, even if she won’t admit it.

bobby is her ex and one of her biggest regrets ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

a disaster lesbian with a track record of only a few dates or hook-ups before moving on because she’s so focused on work until ava enters her life

drives an old cypress green volvo junker instead of the default car

mostly prefers jazz, blues, and ranchera styles of music

still determining the in game stats but she tends to be a workaholic, stubborn, and openly caring and protective. observant of the quirks, habits, and moods of others, but reluctant to acknowledge her own, though.

the amount of times that ava and teresa dance around each other throughout book two because ava is too repressed to admit that she wants to be around teresa more often and teresa takes everything so personally when ava complains that she thinks that she doesn’t want to be there with her

and just

what I’m trying to say is that sometimes love is an anxious lesbian, her 900 year old vampire (eventual) girlfriend, and their shit ton of emotional baggage that makes them such disasters at communication
