TW: Major Character Death (But Trust Me), Blood and Murder

“Holy shit,” Lance covered his face as he stared at the scene before him. Coran was dead. He didn’t even need to check for a pulse. Nobody, not even an Altean could lose that much blood and be okay.

Bile moved up his throat and he emptied his stomach before he realized what was happening. I need to tell the others.

He stood on wobbly legs and stumbled out of the room. Calling for everyone on the castle.

“What do you mean Coran’s dead?” Pidge asked. Their face twisted in disbelief.

Hunk rubbed Lance’s back, seeming to be fighting his own verge to throw up.

“He’s dead. I don’t know how but he was dead.” Lance mumbled, his limbs still shaking.

The air was tense, everyone staring at the ground. Unsure of what to say. Allura wiped her eyes, angry tears streaking her face. “We must find out who did this.”

Everyone glanced at each other. “Could someone be in the castle?” Keith questioned, already reaching for his blade.

Allura stood, “spread out. When you find the perpetrator call for us.” Everyone left the room, bayards activated.

“HOLY SHIT!” Hunk’s panicky voice rang over the coms.

“What’s wrong?!” Allura asked, her voice matching Hunk’s terror.

“It’s Pidge,” shuffle could be heard from his microphone. “Pidge, god there’s so much blood.”

Everyone froze in their respective spots. Hunk’s hysteria created the only sound.

“Oh, this is bad. First Coran and now Pidge?! We need to regroup. Whatever this is moved fast.” Lance leaned against a wall. His eyes scanned the empty hallway.

“Lance is right. Paladins, let’s reconvene on the bridge.”

“Okay,” Hunk wheezed out.

Lance, Keith, and Shiro made their own sound of agreement. Quickly calling off their estimated time of arrival.

A choked scream filled the coms. Allura’s scream.

Lance pushed his legs faster, colliding directly with Keith. They both fell to the floor, groaning on impact. “KEITH!?”

“LANCE?!” They stared at each other. Unbothered by their positions of Lance on top of his fellow paladin.

“Allura! We have to-Jesus! They got her. We have to find her,” Lance blabbered his words as Keith grabbed his shoulders.

“Lance! You need to pull yourself together. Let’s head to the bridge. We can get with Hunk and Shiro and go from there.”

Lance nodded, scrambling off the other boy. “They’re dead. They were just alive!”

Keith swallowed uncomfortably. “I know. But whatever or whoever did this will pay.”

They bolted toward the bridge. Panting filled the coms. “Guys where are you?” Keith called out as he and Lance turned a corner.

“Almost to the bridge!” Hunk called back.

“Shiro?” Keith asked.

No answer.

“Shiro?” Lance repeated, his own franticness bubbling in his skin. He looked at Keith who was looking at him with pleading eyes. Eyes that begged for his brother to still be alive.

“I’m here. Almost to the bridge.” His voice was hushed. Smart move on his end. Maybe they didn’t need to be altering their every location.

Lance and Keith pushed themselves more, finally turning the last corner to the bridge. They bolted forward, the doors opening slowly.

Red.

Red was everywhere. They stared in horror as their eyes fell on the yellow paladin. His body unmoving.

Footsteps appeared behind him. Shiro came to a halt as he entered the room. “No.”

They took a moment to stare until the rust smell became too much and they needed to breathe. They stumbled to the hallway. Lance sunk to the ground and hugged his knees. Keith barely managed to hold himself up with his left hand. Shiro stared at the ground, a faraway look in his eyes.

“We need to figure out what is going on,” Keith murmured out. Trying to take control of the situation.

“What's going on?!” Lance stood, his face marked with tears. “What’s going on is something is killing all of us and soon it will kill us!” He didn’t mean to scream but he was freaking out. Anyone would freak out in this situation.

“Lance!” Shiro said, his voice controlled despite everything. “Take a breath and calm down. We’re not going to die.”

The Blue Paladin opened his mouth to respond but Shiro held up his hand. “We just need to get to our lions. Once we get off the ship we can form a plan. Understood?”

The two boys nodded at their leader.

“Okay. Let’s stick together. Keep your weapons drawn. No one else is dying on my watch.”

They moved silently down the hallway. Lance took the lead, Keith in the center and Shiro brought up the end.

Lance mumbled under his breath. A mix of Spanish and English spilled past his lips. He had no idea how the other two remained silently. Even their footsteps were silent. Wait.

He turned around. He was alone. “Guys?”

Footsteps echoed around the empty hallway. He found himself turning in circles, having no idea where the source of the sound was coming from. His eyes landed on Shiro and he released a small breath of relief.

“Shiro!” He moved to step closer to him. His blue eyes fell on a smeared bloody handprint across his breastplate. “Hey...where did that come from?”

Shiro glanced down, his eyes lifting to fall on his teammate again. “Keith didn’t go as easy as the others.”

Lance released an uncomfortable breath. “What are you talking about?” He took a step back as his leader stepped closer.

“Oh, Lance. You’re not that stupid are you?” Shiro moved closer.

Lance lifted his gun, praying the other man didn’t see the shake in his hands. “What did you do?” He stepped back again, his back hitting the wall.

He was backed into a corner.

“Don’t do this Shiro! We can talk it out. Come to some sort of understanding.” He begged. His eyes were wide with fear as his leader got closer.

Shiro kept moving forward, his hand glowing as he raised it. “Talking won’t help.” He pressed his chest into the end of Lance’s gun. Smiling at his inability to pull the trigger. “Game over Lance.” He swung his arm down.

“COME ON! How did none of us guess it was Shiro?!” Lance flopped on the couch, groaning with annoyance.

“He had a good poker face. I wouldn’t have suspected him.” Pidge replied as they bit into another cookie.

“Remind me to never play poker with you,” Lance grumbled. Hunk patting his leg in condolences.

Shiro laughed. Leaning back in his own seat. “Sorry but that is how you play the game right?”

Lance rolled his eyes. “yes but we’re playing again!”

“As long as I don’t die first I’ll call that a success.” Coran stared at his own device. “Oh, I’m the imposter!”

Everyone groaned, “Coran! Don’t tell us!”

So yeah, this was something my sister demanded at the dinner table. VLD meets Among Us. This was really based off how they did the DnD episode lolololol so I know it's not 100% accurate to playing the actual game but shhhhh

I wanted to keep it a surprise so that’s why it was super vague.

I hope you liked it!

So, what's your thoughts on that unnamed earth flame? Any guesses/personal headcannons as to what its called or what it does? (I love the simon family but the fact that they never revealed that makes me so angry haha, it's like missing a collectable in a video game lol)

I feel like I'm onto something when I say it's the Flame of the Ocean! Kaoru being Yamamoto's counterpart makes me think his flame is somewhat related to water! Maybe it allows the user to manipulate his body like how water takes the form of any container it's in. So Kaoru could change his arm to form that drill thingy that he absolutely DECIMATED Yams with.

Did you ever had any doubts about continuing the FanComic if you did what made you keep on working on it.

Yes. Since it’s a very big work and not so many people are following it, I was very discouraged. But lately I’ve found many supporters, people who became my friends and people helping me with the work, they’re the only reason I’m still trying and doing my best for them, because I’ve never witnessed such active supports. People like @zeno290 who also go around doing his best to advertise new chapters and working on wikia with @kyokosasagawa, who also took her time to study wiki’s coding and build the structure all by herself. The basic help with the english translation thanks to @cinnamonazzy and @tymki even knowing absolutely knowthing from the real show but decided to help me anyway, people such as @scarletskymisa, Edogawa, @venera-taro and @captain-komarga who are working on the spanish and russian translation with an enthusiasm I've never seen before. People like @arianna-nuvola for au, fanarts and support, @renewably ’s fan sequel with Nozomi’s grandaughter, @yaminohimeyume’s side story with Gokudera’s daughter who is falling in love with Shinji, @sonnygalaxy42 for Piero. All the other supporters who also keep me company during my discord streamings like @therainroguebts, @twilightskylene, @oceanspiritus, Red, and the other spiritual support such as Misaki, Nana, @hanevma, @autolykos, my boyfriend @lucyanhawk for always being close to me even if he lost interest in khr, but he never fails to give me courage and appreciation for new art or ideas and supporting me. Also the italian community of my Alpaca Server and YT channel. There are so many people I’m surely I forgot someone, if I do please forgive me, you know my memory issues ywy I need to say, almost everyone from the Reborn Famcom discord server are such adorable and amazing people, I can’t stop thanking everyone if I’m still here doing my best with something I really love instead of giving up to the despair.
