Gault’s Recruitment Makes No Sense

Let me first say that I really like the character of Gault. He’s fun and his significance to the story - both in class and KOTFE - are impressive.

But... the circumstances where the Bounty Hunter takes him in are ridiculous, based on everything we know about the Mandalorians, professional bounty hunters and the encounter with Gault / Tyresius on Tatooine.

Okay, so...

Up to this point, Gault has already given us the slip multiple times, usually involving attempts to kill us. Very rude.

The point is, the whole time on Tatooine, its been established that he could try anything.

THIS. This is an excellent question!

I mean, okay, but it doesn’t change the fact that 1) You could still backstab me at any time. and 2) We are putting the Great Hunt, our personal reputations, and arguably our lives on the line for this one.

Really, Mako? Because this could go south a hundred ways. And if it does, we’re screwed.

This... isn’t reassuring? Yes, we could hunt him down again, but if he screws up the Great Hunt for us, a lot of things go south.

This... this is a blatant lie you are forced to tell, one that could very easily get you killed. Years AFTER the Great Hunt, someone could challenge the BH on the grounds that they never should have been given credit for this kill.

Its not as bad as Skadge, of course, but this is the game pushing you into an action pretty damn hard.

And i can’t understate how dangerous the situation is. Gault could turn on the hunter and Mako at any time. Even if he doesn’t, Tarro Blood - and the Huntmaster - seem to be watching us like a hawk. So suddenly some Devaronian joins us at EXACTLY the same time we take out this Devaronian? Remember Devaronians don’t seem to be that common in the general galaxy.  

Look at it this way : Would Boba Fett take this deal? Or Jango? Or Shae Vizla? Heck - would Din Djarin take this deal? Gault is kinda cute, but he’s no Grogu.

how do you create names for characters? do you have a system? why do your ocs have the names they do?

lokay so i dont really have a system, i usually first create a character and after that try to figure out what fits, but i can tell you how and why each one of them got their name (plus 2nd names coz some of em do have them)

so. mira. she doesnt have a 2nd name, and the way i came up w this one was just look at a list of old slavic names that are no longer/very rarely in use nowadays, and i remember i did that with my best friend coz she just created a character and gave them an old slavic name too and bc mira was my first i didnt know how it works

with leo it was literally me just randomly thinking of naming him leo, and same with his second name which is isaac, it just. suits him in my mind

with ayako i remember looking at japanese/evolved from japanese names until i found something that i like

nakka was. i cant remember all the details but i think it was me putting either “fox” or “coyote” in google translate one language after another until i found sth that sounded like it could be a name

truce is. kinda different coz here i kinda had the name first, bc he started from the song truce by 21p (it was 2017 dont @ me) and then just. evolved. he also has caspian as his second name only bc i can

ceres was a case of me trying to fit a name w first design as he was supposed to have stuff to do with space so i just spent good three days looking at and reading about various stars and planets and comets and stuff and also he’s the only one with no actual last name (i mean technically its moon, but only bc i couldnt be bothered to find a proper one and with his character it actually fits to not use his last name and make one up and such so it kinda stuck at moon sdfgh)

william i think had. the most Actual Work put into choosing name (or at least close to what i did with ceres) coz his full name is william aaron nowell and i spent. a long time looking at old british names and last names from 1700s coz hes a vampire and thats when and where he was born

and cassie is just. a nickname, honestly, his full name is trevor cassidy, so cassie is just a nickname from his last name, and with this i just asked around what are the most 2000s pop punk guy covering sum 41 names they could think of sdfghj
