marie said and i quote “you’ll be happy with where octavia ends up”
how the hell am i going to be happy that she lost her brother? that she lost her best friend? that she basically went though the tragedy of another lincoln? that the daughter she found in hope was ripped away from her time and time again?
so marie, how the hell do you find happiness and acceptance with this shit show?
blink twice if you were forced to say that and actually despise jroth and everything he (didn’t) do for the blake’s.

OCTAVIA BLAKE: ESFP [THE 100] 2017 FOLLOWER FAVORITE WINNER
Dominant Function: Extraverted Sensation (Se)
Octavia is an incredibly action-oriented character. Her instinct is not to reflect or be a diplomat. For Octavia your actions speak louder than words. She doesn’t care what anyone has to say to her, but what they do. Your actions have implications and tell her who you are, she doesn’t need your monologue of justification. She saw what you did, she doesn’t care what the intent was behind it, just the results. She sees and communicates in what is, not what could be. This makes her quite a go-to pragmatist.
From when Octavia first  lands and is free to now, she is constantly engaged in her physical surroundings. She engages fully with the world around her, enjoying her senses. This starts by seeming promiscuous, but she has been closed off by so much and her way of interacting with the world, of perceiving is through the physical. Octavia is trying to make the most of it right away, living to the fullest.
Hands-on experience drives her and what she cares about. She comes to be passionate about everything she fully comes into contact with. She isn’t dreaming of what could be or listening to what others find interesting, etc. She finds interest and holds interest in activities she comes into complete contact with, that hold her attention in an immediate way. It makes sense, that she grabs onto such a physical culture, becoming a warrior. (This isn’t reducing the culture of the grounders to physical, rather describing the warrior nature and focus on the physical body which her own people appear pretty separate from out of necessity living in a satellite). She sees how the Sky people go about things as games, not straight forward, and more focused on words and promises rather than getting anything done and real results.
Because her default is the now, when things don’t her her way she feels a need to start all over, to get a new start. She is excited by this when they first land on Earth. But she consistently reinvents herself when things aren’t working for her, leading to her thinking she can be okay just being a farmer. This is explored further when combined with her other functions.
Secondary Function: Introverted Feeling (Fi)
Fi directs her interests in people. This is what brings her that pure empathy with Lincoln that ultimately culminates in their romance. She is quick to read people. Her Se makes her great at observing the details arround her, combine that with an Fi interest in people and she reads body language better than a book. This makes Octavia incredibly observant and may seem like intuition, but in fact is simply her having awesome observation skills.
Her Fi is also why Octavia runs so counter to Clarke and Bellamy (SFJs, Fe users), as her Fi makes her fiercely independent. She avoids being controlled in any capacity. She doesn’t want to be confined by their ideas or assumptions. She isn’t going to follow the social rules around her if they run counter to her sense of autonomy. She has a much harder time sacrificing that integrity in her sense of self to the social rule and/or expectation that Bellamy and Clarke find themselves constantly intertwined in: the service of the societal realm and their needs over their independent selves.
Fi looks for the people that have fallen through the cracks and lends Octavia an almost unmatched compassion for specific people. We see this in her deep bonds with Lincoln and Indra. Octavia is often the champion for the downtrodden, those that people, like Clarke and Bellamy, often overlook in their plans to save the most people. Octavia often grounds them with the raw and emotional reality of confronting individuals and what their actions do to effect them.
Octavia makes judgement calls based out of her personal experience and gut feelings. Everything is formed by what has happened to her. This has both good and bad consequences for Octavia. Her sympathies are based on the individuals she meets and deals with. This is most prominent in her relationships with Lincoln and hatred of Jaha. On the one hand this can create deep empathy for those that others leave behind, but can also result in deeply and personally rooted anger and wrath.
Tertiary Function: Extraverted Thinking (Te)
Being Se dominant Octavia naturally points outward and when her Fi isn’t fully developed, her inferior Ni (a more inward facing focus) is frightening. This feeling of being uncomfortable with Ni pushes her to go to a tertiary function rather than secondary, because outside of herself is something she is more comfortable and familiar with. However, she, like the rest of us, is far better wielder of the secondary and dominant functions than her tertiary. Being driven to the tertiary function in this manner often leads to misuse of the function. We see this in Octavia at her most emotional and typically paired with a good amount of denial.
When we understand her functions and how they create a pattern for her denial, her character’s denial in plots that cause her most of her personal conflict makes a lot more sense. Her Te use is the symptom of her deeper functional issues. This is when she gets stubborn and stops trying to understand others. Once she is burned by an experience, that experience fueled by Se and Fi, becomes apart of her. But her inability to reflect on this with Ni, leads her to blame any negativity she feels--like trying to synthesize hypocrisy or something that simply doesn’t sit well with the sense of self she has created--the more she actually pushes these internal anxieties outward with Te. Her experience becomes objective and what she has experienced is truth above all and predicts how anything like it will happen again. Her subjective experience in the world only makes sense to her in outward objectivity, so instead of processing these events internally, she spits them back out at the world.
Octavia is using Te in response to her Se perceptions which are immediate. What this leads to, is her priorities being set in the now and nothing else. Hence, why when she is upset she becomes irrationally stubborn that her way, her needs, her priorities in life come above all else. For her this doesn’t come off as selfish as what she is often reacting to are terrible deeds. However, it makes her stubborn and not forward thinking of how her actions in the now can effect the future and be interpreted by others differently than her good intent.
Inferior Function: Introverted iNtuition (Ni)
Her inferior Ni is what causes her to come into conflict with Clarke and others who are prone to weigh perspectives of their actions. Ni prompts us to interpret the world in a more abstract form that questions the intent, meaning, and implication of actions (and other things). To Octavia this is a waste of time and something people who don’t want to get their hands dirty do. We see this come to a head the more violent she gets in the series.
On the one hand her quick actions grounded in her Fi-moralistic center can be a strength. She is quick to helping others with her actions, always being there for support and to get things done. However, action isn’t always the best path. She is quick to kill to keep King Roan in power. She doesn’t think her actions through with how the politics work, how people will really see these actions, etc. Her Se is so in charge that she is constantly reacting and not planning or reflecting.
By the end of season 4, we see that her Se alone can only take her so far. With the death of Lincoln she kept trying to react. She put everything she has into her Sensation function, in the outer world. She wasn’t comfortable confronting her inner toil, her emotions. Many assume Feelers are the first to be in touch with their feelings with such events, but that isn’t the rule at all. We all have a hard time processing the obstacles life sends our way and Feelers are not above this. Octavia is not above this. As she isolates herself continually and actually stops her violence for a period of time, we see such interesting functional development occur.
She finally becomes aware that her form of coping in simply reacting isn’t working, but she completely shuts it down, denies herself her Extraverted Sensation tendencies. She focuses inward on who she is and when confronted with herself she gets a better picture. She can still be a warrior, but she can’t simply be reactive. We get to see this ESFP, when confronted with her Fi-Ni, find strength. She embraces her Se abilities, combines it with what she sees as right (fighting for every clan to survive), and finally sees with Ni that her actions can have implications and meanings. She finds a better philosophical basis to her actions, rather than constantly just reacting to what is in front of her in the moment. She is no longer a victim of her own reactions, but using her new found motivations and reflections to bring meaning with her actions.

5x10 The Warriors Will
Thoughts
1. I love the title because it is not just about what Octaiva said to Monty but also the strength of will and how both Clarke and Octavia are struggling with how strong theirs is.
2. What was the point of the worms? Seriously, the ending felt incomplete and ominous in way. I felt like they should have come back. Maybe season 7 will finish that up.
3. Child abuse is never okay. I need to say this because of all the things Clarke did...that is her worst offense.
4. Do you think Clarke also believed Bellamy may not be killed. Madi kept throwing it in her face, but I am sort of convinced that she thought it was an exaggeration. If there is a person who understands how much the Blakes love each other, it is Clarke. She knew it was a risk, a possibility, but I think she thought it was a gamble worth taking because Octavia loves her brother.
5. The change in Madi is staggering. Lola is doing a fantastic job of showing the differences. Madi, Clarke’s daughter, is in a way dead. She is no longer Madi. She is Madi and all the commanders before her. Her personality is different and she carries herself differently.
6. Madi killing for revenge while you see Clarke hesitate shows the big difference between Clarke and a lot of characters. They all have done questionable things, but Clarke rarely lets her emotions get the better of her in that way. Her innate goodness doesn’t allow for revenge. She kills because she has to...protection of others, of self, mercy, never for selfishness.

even though she had been expecting that, clarke still groans. the blonde flops back onto the couch, blowing the hair from her face as she widens her eyes and looks up at her fiance. FIANCE. the little smile that’s been battling for dominance starts to grow, hand reaching to grab octavia’s and tug her closer.   “well  ---  call him. now. i wanna tell people.”   lifting the hand in her’s, she places a kiss to octaiva’s knuckles and hums softly, eyes warm and soft as she looks up at her. the first person they needed to tell after bellamy was clarke’s mom, she knew. but she wanted to hear the older blake’s reaction to the news first!   “or we can go over. he should be home from work by now.”   she’s excited, and who can blame her? like a little kid in a candy shop. after everything they had been through, they were finally getting their happy ending. and clarke couldn’t wait.

Hi Rosy ! I SO HOPE that in S6 Clarke starts ''dating'' someone else and Bellamy gets JEALOUS ! My gosh that would be freaking awesome to watch ! All the angst
Well I don’t HOPE it. But if it happens it is totally in line with a romantic subplot where the two main characters and love interests have to come to terms with their feelings for each other and can no longer pretend to be platonic. (I was JUST reading these bellarke fics where one or the other of them started dating again after NOT dating, and the one who was pining was unhappy and either finally spoke up about their feelings, or the one who was clueless finally realized that what they were searching for was Bellarke all along. It is SUCH a classic romance trope i don’t get why people would be upset. And I also don’t get why they missed it in season 5 because that was EXACTLY what Echo was, which means they might not NEED to do one for Clarke because they’re already doing it and Bellamy already is AWARE that he’s in love with Clarke. Now he just has to fix it.)
Because you can’t be platonic if you are jealous. Because platonic relationships should not have that kind of sexual ownership of the other person. And if you ARE jealous you have to face it and figure out if you’re just being selfish and wanting their “platonic” attention or if you are actually, really, romantically in love with them and want them all. In season 5 Clarke recognized it and let her love for Bellamy go because she wants him to be happy and she thinks he loves Echo and they’re good for each other. Because she’s self sacrificing and won’t fight someone else fo their partner (see C/F/R)
Here’s the problem. Clarke and Bellamy have both loved other people. It’s almost always been when they weren’t around for comparison.
But the relationship Clarke and Bellamy have is the PRIMARY relationship, not only for Clarke and Bellamy but ALSO for the show itself.
So WHATEVER relationship they have with other people has to contend with Clarke and Bellamy being soulmates.
Whether you think they are “non romantic” or not. They have to deal with it.
I personally am confident that the feelings are NOT non-romantic, even if the relationship in practice is. That just means they are holding back on their feelings.
So a person who wants a romantic relationship with either Clarke or Bellamy must address Bellarke. I am 100% sure that Echo is going to recognize what Clarke means to Bellamy and 75% sure that will not be okay with her. The 25% is in case they DON’T give Echo positive character development and instead make her selfish and jealous, and want Bellamy even if he loves Clarke more. I don’t actually think that will happen, but it’s possible, and a lot of fans who hate Echo will probably like it. :P I think it’s more like 10% possible actually.
If Clarke ends up flirting with someone else, I think we might see a resurgence of Selfish Ass Bellamy, which would be an interesting development. And would be at odds with his intentions to be the good guy. That definitely is something that happens on this show. People regress all the time. I don’t know if that’s where they are going, but it would add a complication to the storyline.
I think we forget that one of the storytelling techniques of this show is to get our heroes stuck in a tree, and THEN to throw stones at them to raise the tension and make it worse. They want us to have an “all is lost” moment. We had that with Bellarke when Clarke left Bellamy to die. We had it with the Blake Siblings when he told her he wished she was dead. We had it with the main Eden plot when Clarke betrayed them and Eligius attacked Wonkru and left Bellamy, Octaiva, Indra and Gaia for dead.
I can’t say that we won’t see that technique again, unless they SERIOUSLY change the tone of Book 2 from Book 1. Which they might. We’ll have to see.
I DEFINITELY feel that Book 2 will set us up to have Clarke and Bellamy not only fight to survive, but FIGHT TO LIVE, and to love. Romantic Bellarke is going to be linked with “being the good guy” because they will follow WELLS and decide that it has to be about more than just impossible decisions and a tragic end. They have to take on JASPER’S idea that he wants everyone to live, not just survive, and MONTY’s request that they be BOTH the good guys, and live a good life. BTW, Monty’s charge is BOTH a head (good guys) and a heart (good life) charge. And seeing as it’s Clarke’s turn to find her hope and belief again, and it seems like it’s Bellamy’s turn to finally reach for happiness and love…. Clarke will be the hero of season 6…. and Bellamy will be the….no. Could it be?
The romantic hero. Bellamy’s gonna get the girl. The girl is Clarke. His soulmate. The one he is devoted to. The traitor who he loves.
It’s going to go back to season 1, where Clarke wants to create a life on earth for everyone, and Bellamy wants to live a good life, but this time it wont be chaos, it will be family and love.
IDK. It’s a possibility. I’m not really interested in resisting the story I see on screen, or rewriting it to fit my preferences, or being angry if it doesn’t follow my speculation. I’m willing to go with the flow because I think it’s a good story and I DEFINITELY believe in bellarke. No matter how long it takes to get there or what the path is.

The 100 interviews for season 6 (so far)
So here’s what I learned from Bob, Lindsey and Richard’s interviews (SPOILERS!) (part 1) (part 2)
Bob avoided answering questions because he isn’t allowed to
When asked about Bellamy and Octavia’s relationship he brought Marin into the interview and had her answer it instead
There is some sort of twist in their relationship but the things from season 5 aren’t addressed until later in s6
They both said it’s not a healthy relationship
Monty’s message of ‘be the good guys’ is something all the characters take to heart in one way or another
Murphy misses Monty (and Harper) but especially Monty because they saved each other in the s4 and s5 finalies and that sticks with Murphy
Losing Monty changes Murphy’s relationship with Jordan
Murphy’s injuries are there for the beginning of season 6
Richard joked about expectations for Murphy to be the good guy are always low because he started out as the bad guy in season 1
a big Murphy question is answered and Richard is really excited about it
Bellamy and Murphy continue to have a relationship of respect
Murphy and Raven’s relationship continues to be what it was in s5
Murphy and Emori made peace at the end of s5 so that carries into s6
wonkru is done
different characters work together this season but spacekru still sticks together Bob called it a ‘new adventure squad’
soup
Bellamy and Clarke have to get through being on opposite sides in s5 to work together
Bellamy and Clarke also need to work through Bellamy giving Madi the ship and Clarke leaving him in the fighting pits
Bob said Jordan is a quirky character the show hasn’t had before
Those who Clarke and Bellamy chose to wake up are the ones that they deem will cause the least issues according to Lindsey
Lindsey wished she got to spend time in Mount Weather and Polis
Raven tries to uphold Monty’s last words and is more active in making decisions and being better and holding everyone else to being better
When asked about a chance of bellarke bob answered ‘just as much chance all those other years’
Bob said that the Blake sibling relationship is a barometer to how Bellamy feels in any given season

my favorite female character: clarke griffin and octaiva blake, no doubt!! that’s probably obvious from my dual blog of them, though gfhdjs.  ( @earthbuilt )  but i’m also a huge raven fan, as well!
my favorite male character: bellamy blake, my heart, my soul, the love of my life
my favorite book / season / etc: season one and two! i’ve only seen to the middle of season three but it did not really impress so i kinda stopped.
my favorite episode (if it’s a tv show): the one where anya and clarke escape mt weather together!
my favorite cast member: bob morley!! eliza taylor!! lindsey morgan!! richard harmon!!
my favorite ship: i will die for bellarke and princess mechanic. maybe bellamy / clarke / raven ot3??  lol. but i’m also a huge linctavia shipper  —   ow, my heart!
a character i’d die defending: my girls clarke and octavia ok!! always!!
a character i just can’t sympathize with: finn. i wasn’t a fan from the beginning and it just… i could never really like his character.
a character i grew to love: i did not like lexa the first time i watched the show, but on my rewatch, i grew to really enjoy her character, even if i don’t enjoy her most popular ship. also murphy, of course!!
my anti otp: cle.xa  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  /sighs. i just couldn’t forgive lexa for abandoning clarke at mt. weather  ( though i understand why she did it ),  so i can’t ship them? i found it out of character for clarke to forgive her so fast, but that’s just my unpopular opinion.
give me a show or movie and i’ll scream about it     /     accepting      /     @battleincarnate

                        OH   HEY,   IT’S   A   MAINS   CALL   !
   WHAT   DOES   MAINS   MEAN   ?
if we’re mains, i’ll come to you first with plots and ideas. it also means that i plan on bugging you ( often ) about our babies and whatever relationship they may have. you ( and your muse ) get your own tag and lots of love from clarke and i.
    REQUIREMENTS   !
we have to have spoken ooc and have written together, at least enough that i have a feel for you and your muse ! this is a MUTUAL mains call meaning that if i have you as a main, you must have me as a main too.
    DISCLAIMER   !
our muses do not have to be romantically linked — at all. this is not a ship call, it’s a mains call. if our muses develop a ship, great ! but it’s not a requirement.
    EXCLUSIVES   !
i’m slightly more picky about these. if i write with tons of different versions of your muse, i probably won’t go full exclusive. but if you’re the only one i write with, i’ll probably be down.
so,   if   you’re   interested,   give   this   post   a   like   and   i’ll   hop   into   your   ims   !
