AITA for not telling my ex-best friend that she's not invited to my wedding? (🚫👰‍♂️ for reference)

Light context, I (20s X) used to be very close with this girl we'll call F (20s F) for close to 15 years. We had a few falling outs in high-school but maintained a casual friendship afterwards as we went into college and beyond. From a really young age, we both made the promise to each other that we'd be each other's maid of honor at our respective weddings, and that promise would be occasionally referenced during our friendship (yknow, typical bff things).

To make a very long story short, the last chunk of our friendship I started acknowledging that she really wasn't the best influence on me and really worked to make everyone around us believe her narrative about our friendship (things like lying for years about how we became friends and refusing to acknowledge the correct story, or inserting herself into my family, including during a really traumatic time and she got upset when people weren't asking her about how much she was upset, things like that ect.). I had given up even trying to argue against it so I'd agree with her on a lot of it.

She was engaged a few years ago and ended up asking me to be her MOH, which I accepted at the time. What ended up happening was that the wedding was canceled, and I never got my dress I had pulled money from my savings to pay for, nor the money back.

I made the conscious decision at that point to start to distance myself from her, both in person and on the phone, but would still losely message her if I knew she was the best person to talk to about something. When I first started dating my fiancé, F was one of the main people I talked to about our budding relationship.

It's been several years now, and I have basically stopped interacting with F on all accounts. I found out from an old high-school friend that apparently she still tells people we're really close and hang out all the time, which I was quick to clarify wasn't true.

Here's where I feel like I could be TA: in all these years of me slowly backing away, I've avoided ever actually telling F that I wasn't comfortable with us interacting anymore, and I wasn't even sure I wanted to have her at the wedding. This is because she's been known to do some pretty drastic things in the past and cause scenes, and I really didn't want to deal with possible fallout, and now it's gotten so late that it feels harder and harder to do.

We had our first conversation in like 8 months recently with a few snaps where she showed off her new engagement ring and then asked about how wedding planning was going and when she was going to get asked and invited to it. I kinda let the question flop and never really responded, but now I know it's still on her mind.

The whole wedding party has already been chosen, as has our guest list, and F and her fiancé aren't on it. I feel like I should try to tell F at this point that I don't feel comfortable inviting her, but I really just want the whole situation to die out and would rather somehow miraculously get married without F even hearing about it until it's already done (which is basically impossible since F is still social media friends with my mom). At this point, I still have no plans to tell F that she's not part of the wedding, nor is she invited. I am genuinely worried she'd crash it if she found out where it was happening, but I'd rather take that risk and not mention it at all, despite it being a childhood promise when we were actually friends.

So, AITA for not telling her that I've been uncomfortable with our friendship and don't want her at all in or at my wedding?

Yes yes good for them!! The happy couple <33 I havent played minecraft in a while but i used to play it constantly before shit went down with an ex bff of mine, then i just stopped playing since I had no one to play it with. But I really enjoyed playing it when I used to spend every day on it with my crappy laptop. I need to play it again. Genshin impact is so much fun though!! If you decide to try it and stick with it I'd like to know since it does have co op. I grew up with pokemon so i've played it for a long ass time, theres a new game coming out but i also reccomend getting legends arceus as its addicting !! Really addicting and adds a new twist to the game that isnt collecting 8 gym badges and becoming the champion. ooohhh, that sounds interesting I should definately look into the book. I remember being a book worm up until like high school, I was reading a lot of the time as its the only thing I could do as I didnt get a phone until freshman year of high school. There's a series I started but I havent finished quite yet. But one thing I remember in high school I borrowed a book from a friend(they later let me keep the book), it's a book meant for little kids to read but I enjoyed it despite the fact I tend to read novels than books like it, and I even remember the teacher's aide telling me that I could read a more higher up book than that, i didnt really pay any mind to it i just enjoyed reading the book as a sort of break from what I normally read. I remember reading the harry potter series in like one school year back in middle school, while only reading the books at school and on the way home from school, never at home(it was my first time reading them.) The theory just appeared in my head on the topic of sweet home and it just sort of made sense to me, especially with how the series showed that not all monsters are bad so there had to of been a reason why not all of em are bad. Yea, but I think Stupid Cool is now my favorite Dawn song, i love it way too much at this very moment. I dont really listen to Jessi so I dont really know any of her songs. OH! Another solo artist I like is Alexa, especially her song bomb. Two more groups I like are KARD and OMEGA X. And I agree TXT's songs are BOPS, i actually have 4 of their albums as well. I dont really care for grammar in casual talk tbh, like it makes no sense to be grammically correct with everything when you're just talking in a normal conversation (like if the grammar is very bad then i'd be a bit annoyed but i typically dont give af about grammar unless its in writing.)

Awh!1 I try to play alone but I always end up getting bored T-T I think that's why I'm also bored on Stardew Valley, I'm going to try and convince a friend of mine to start playing on it with me so we can make a farm together haha! Awwh! I grew up watching the Pokemon show and playing a couple of games, I remember playing it on the DS whenever we would go on road trips 😭😂

Honestly, its a series I recommend a lot! My penpal suggested it to me and I've been hooked!!! It's such a good series, it's fantasy too which is nice because it's not normally a genre that I tend to read. I tend to read a lot of smut now, on my kindle mostly haha.It's so sweet that you have some good memories of reading 🥺🥺 Harry potter is for sure one of my favourite series. I have a Felix Felicis bottle tattooed on my arm haha I'm working on getting some more book related ones

yet another possible post-finale outcome: cath is fully present on that plane and not replaced by danny, but we do add danny onto the plane, and nobody is willing to back down so they all end up flying off together. the proceeding days/weeks/months while steve is trying to find himself are just this extremely awkward balancing act where he’s taking selfies in front of the eiffel tower and going hiking in the mountains around cape town with a) an ex he almost married and is still good friends with, and b) his current best friend that he keeps saying he’s married to and has possibly requited romantic feelings for. so when steve and cath try to work out some of the unresolved things in their history danny inevitably walks into the room, when steve and danny accidentally brush hands while sitting a little too close together and it seems like something might be about to happen cath always shows up, and when cath and danny are left alone it’s extremely pleasant conversation on the surface while underneath they’re both suspiciously wondering why the other one is even here because danny, obviously, is very worried cath might try to rekindle her relationship with steve, while cath thinks danny must have tagged along at the last minute just to friendshipblock her and steve out of overprotective worry that she might somehow hurt him again, like she did any of that on purpose and like steve is not a grown man who can manage his own life.

then at some point harry langford probably shows up and starts flirting with everyone, but particularly cath and danny right in front of steve, just to make the chaos complete.

ADDISON CHARACTER SPOTLIGHT, PART 2

Welcome to part two of a series known as Character Spotlight. In this part of it, I give my predictions and analysis of a character. Oh Jesus, what's this? A post where I don't complain about how the way Addi was written was kind of annoying? What is this black magic? ! Yeah, yeah, I don't like Addi as a critic of zp, but as a casual fan, I like him. He's not my fave, but I like him. Today, let's throw the critic goggles into the fireplace and have some fun.

First, let's start with what we know.

Name: Addison Woods

Age: Originally, he was going to be 14-15, but allegedly Vivz currently considers him to be 17

Gender: Male

Sexuality : About as straight as a pinwheel. Also, he has a thing for snake people and dudes with accents

Known hobbies : Likes art, and is very talented in this field.

Handicaps : PTSD ( does not like being touched)

Relationships:

Latika - Adoptive mum, cares a lot about Addi, and vice versa

Sasha- step cousin , bugs and teases Addi. Addi doesn't like him

Gustav : Boyfriend, they both find each other attractive, and apparently they end up having a happy, healthy relationship

Damian : Best friend. He enjoys messing with Addi and flirting with him. While they don't hold romantic feelings for each other, they're "friends with benefits ". Addi often is confused by Dame's flirting attempts. They apparently met some time before the story started. 

Sahara: Friend. Apparently these two aren’t as close as Dame and Addi. 

Tom: Addi's ex. They don't seem to be on good terms as Tom is still possessive of Addi.

Mackenzie : I have a lot to say on this, so for the sake of length, I will save this tangent for another time.

Jack : Addi's role model

Zill: Addi has a crush on him

Let's start with what we know

Addi was originally created by Xirxene. He's basically this artificial life form that is a human/fennec fox ( /cat apparently ) hybrid. He was frequently experimented on, causing him to develop a type of PTSD that causes him to panic whenever he's touched unexpectedly. At some point, he was adopted by Latika, who is best snake mum. He also met Damian some time before the story began. Xirxene is still after him, and members attempt to abduct him. He’s a student in ZPA’s art class, is rather passionate about this field, and is so good he causes poorly introduced and developed relationships to happen.

So what do I think about Addison?

One thing that stood out to be was Addi’s motivation; Love. Allegedly, he throws himself at guys and, if his and Tom’s relationship is any indication, his relationships don’t last very long. If this is true, and Dame isn’t hyperbolising, why? One would’ve thought that if he does this so often, why hasn’t he learned? Why continue this behavior? I remember reading that Addi, due to having some weird chemicals in his system, will not live very long. If this is true, maybe he wants a romantic relationship before he dies. But even if this is true, again, why?It’s possible that this could be a result of some serious insecurity on Addi’s part. In chapter 5, we see people refer to Addi as a “freak”. Addi has also been described as being shy and introverted. So, hear me out, what if Addi’s insecurity comes from not only him seeing himself as a freak, but almost everybody seeing him as a freak. I mean, ok, this isn’t some impressive idea. I’m sure several Addi fans are yelling “No duh you Canadian, syrup-chugging nibnob!” Ok, ok, I get it, but hear me out! I think this could be why he’s so desperate for love. He wants someone around that can make him feel less insecure and loved. I could see this as the reason behind his relationships not going well. They either don't go as planned, or Addi unbalances the relationship by contributing too much to it.

Also, I'm sorry, but if the BFFs with benefits thing is still canon.... I have questions. Does Dame just become substitute boyfriend when Addi's single, and vice versa? Do they both collectively get bored and flirt with each other? Like, they just casually make out but they're not dating? I'm sorry, I just find this amusing.

Ok, enough with love. Love is boring. Let's talk about Adder. I think Adder will basically be either a feral side that Addi developed during his time at Xirxene (maybe he'd try to fight back against the scientists ) or he's a twisted manifestation of what Addi secretly wants to be. While Addi is...Addi, Adder is tough, uncaring, dangerous, and powerful. Unlike Addi, Adder don't need no man (*snap, snap, snap *) I can also see Adder taking revenge on anyone who wronged Addi. As for his relationship to Mirage, I think Adder may follow her since her plan somehow aligns with his quest for vengeance, and Mirage encourages Addi to leave and Adder to stick around.

I dunno. That's just what I think when it comes to analyzing this character. God, I talk too much

Predictions

Relationships :

Mackenzie - I have a lot to say on this, so I'll save this tangent for another time.

Gustav- while I do believe Addi will ultimately end up with Gustav, I can see the relationship hitting several bumps, especially with Gustav possibly being forced to go through *gasp* character development. Like I've said above, I can also see Addi causing an unbalance in the relationship, which is never healthy. I think there'll also be an arc where Gustav and Addi will have to deal with the whole Xirxene thing.

Damian - ok, so unpopular opinion here. I think these two will drift apart. Not permanently, but at least for some time. I'll go over Dame's side of the equation in another post, so let's focus on Addi. While Addi may have needed Dame in the past, what with all of his issues, I think he may start hanging out with the rest of the main cast and other characters, branching away from Dame. Rereading Ch5 strengthened this belief as it seems like Addi has had enough of Dame's bull and is going his own route rather then be the passive friend. This of course I can see leading to much emotional pain and angst, which is like fucking candy to me.

Live or Die: Ah-hahaha. ....I think at least 5 people already know the answer to this one. To save on space, I strongly suggest you check out my Addison Headcanon part 1 and 2. Tldr, I think Addi is gonna die.

Powers: I've seen some art of Adder having "glory hand powers" and apparently he also can summon two giant demon snakes. I'm willing to bet that he's gonna have powers.

Role: Antagonist. Addi was originally created to be an adversary for Zill. While this may have been scrapped, I personally think it'd be a really cool subversion of expectations.
