One of my favorite things in the Season 2 OP & Season 3 OP of Tokyo Revengers is the TIMING of the OP:

In Season 2 at the scene with Takemichi still as a young kid:

He's just a kid, he doesn't know, he just wants to be a hero.

Then here comes the Season 3 OP

I was laughing like a hero I won't give up until I embrace your despair

where he BECOMES A HERO AT THE SAME TIME AS THE SONG!!

They totally did this on purpose and it makes me love the animation so much more!!

I just love how they use the first half of the song for Season 2 then use the 2nd half for Season 3, both the same song, yet telling different stories.

Is it just me, or something about about TR anime at this point just feels... idk, kinda off? I mean, aside from all the discrepancies with manga, and the scenes they skipped for no reason. 😑 But somehow, even the opening feels like the song and the video do not match, it looks more like an amateurish YouTube AMV, than an anime opening. Weird. 🤔

And the pacing of this episode was just off. Randomly switching from scene to scene... I'm just getting uncanny vibes, can't really put it into words.

But in any case, the hype is real, I'm still super happy Tokyo Revengers is back, cause my life feels like it finally has a purpose once again! 🥹

I legit let out the nastiest squeal of fangirling when KokoNui showed up in that cringy opening! And I'm sooo excited to see Haru finally getting some real screentime!!! I just hope the studio does justice to his character and presents him the way he should be presented. 'Cause I am livid with the fact that that poor excuse of a failed Wednesday Addams cosplay was given some serious beauty filters, and even the "pretty boy" voice. Such a damn waste... 😑 (Yes, I am aware how much hate I'll get from all y'all Hoetani stans, but I just organically cannot stand them cowardly bitchez!)

Anyhow, we'll see how this season goes... There's still so much to look forward to! 🤞

Ahhhhh this was really tricky to translate as this song was full of metaphors (classic Satocchan). But even though it hurt my brain so much, I pushed through as I believe this is one of their best songs - I feel like it’s a love letter of some sort to their fans/supporters for being their light, and because they received so much love and support (light) from them, they will do their best to pass on that light to others through their music.

Anyway, hope this post and this song will make you smile widely, too :)

The lights on the way home, being emitted by those cold, lifeless buildings, serves as some sort of signal I may not know their names, but I'm thankful, (since) they opened up the (service) entrance to their hearts

If you look at the lyrics, you will see that both meanings of tasogare work with the context of the song = it may mean that he is completely overwhelmed by the beauty of the lives of the immeasurable number of people he's never known in town (as immeasurable as the stars in the twilight sky). The people interpretation will also work with the song as it can be used as reference for the second chorus (kimi no anata no omaetachi no)."
