No because the funniest thing is Eddie seeing Steve do cool stuff with his bat and completely annihilating a demogorgan. Eddie is panicking and he wants to do something cool too, so without thinking he just smashes his guitar over the demogorgan’s head. Steve and Eddie look at each other in shock.

Steve: Eddie you just killed your first demogorgan!

Chilchuck analysis speedrun: As a hardworking half-foot who grew up poor and discriminated against and had his gullibility taken advantage of multiple times in his early adventuring days, Chilchuck thinks optimism is a dangerous flaw. He’s stressed and strict all the time because his job is noticing details like traps that could get everyone killed before anyone knows it, he takes the lives of everyone to be on his shoulders, and with the way he speaks about it that probably partly reflects how he felt about taking it upon himself to provide for his family too. His life’s always been pretty centered around work and has become even moreso now that his wife left and everyone is independent, and due to past events he’s very iffy with bonding with coworkers. He thinks feelings and job are a disaster mix. Like with his wife or with parties hiring him as sacrifice, being open or having good faith is vulnerability which can get you hurt, so he processes and shows all his stress as anger instead of worry. Doing strict dieting probably isn’t helping the irritability what with hunger, and on top of being a hunger suppressant alcohol might be the main stress reliever he has.

Thistle and Marcille as narrative foils

Outliving your loved ones sure does sucks…

It’s funny. Despite being a “pure-blooded” elf, out of everyone in the cast Thistle is the one who can best understand what Marcille is going through. There weren’t any other elves in Melini, and everyone he loved and held dear was destined to die long before he would. Is it any wonder why he said yes to Delgal’s pleas for him to “protect” everyone, even if that meant taking on an incredible burden? Perhaps if even if things had played out differently, he still would’ve ended up becoming the dungeon lord for similar reasons to Marcille.

Even when the demon was punching holes in his psyche, protecting people was still on the forefront of his mind… though he lost sight of their happiness. But, ultimately…. He just didn’t want his family to die, just as much as Marcille did.

Eddie is awake when Steve wakes up, which is not unusual so it does nothing to further the process of his senses coming back online. Steve doesn’t notice the mischief in Eddie’s smile or the camera when he mumbles a g’morning and stumbles his way into their ensuite bathroom.

Steve immediately comes back into the room with hands on hips. Eddie zooms in on the unimpressed look on his face and laughs when Steve points to his cheek where a crudely drawn dick is and states, “Get this off me.”

Saturday April 1st 2023, 11:06AM

Eddie posts a Tiktok from where he’s sitting on the kitchen island. Steve opens the fridge and a bunch of rubber snakes pop out at him. He is not fazed by it, but nearly jumps out of his skin when he turns around and sees the fake spider Eddie sat on the counter.

This video ends with Steve saying “Enough!” while Eddie is laughing his ass off.

Saturday April 1st 2023, 2:53PM

Eddie sets his phone up at the end of the deck in their backyard. He then proceeds to climb up on the railing next to the door leading into the house with a gigantic water balloon. The video speeds up to show that he was standing there for a long time before Steve opens the door.

Steve freezes, having spotted Eddie. They just stare at each other – Eddie with his giant water balloon held over his head and Steve who was letting Ozzy out for a bathroom break. Steve finally says, “You realize I’m not walking out there.”

“You don’t need to,” Eddie says and throws the balloon at him anyways. Steve yelps as he moves away, and you hear him laugh from inside the house.

Saturday April 1st 2023, 4:15PM

Eddie posts a compilation that starts with him holding a tiny remote. When he presses a button, you can hear the sound of a fly buzzing around the room. The video is then spliced with clip after clip throughout the day where you’ll hear the fly sound followed by Steve looking around and saying “Is there a fucking fly in here?” with increasing frustration.

Saturday April 1st 6:01PM

They’re eating dinner. Eddie dumps a bunch of broken pieces of uncooked noodles onto Steve’s plate of spaghetti and mixes it up while Steve messes around in the fridge. When he gets back to the table, he takes a bite and there’s an audible crunch.

Steve swallows hard and then starts coughing, wiping the smile that Eddie was trying to hide off his face. The smile is gone completely when Steve starts coughing up blood.

Eddie’s face goes white, “What the fuck? It was dry pasta!”

Steve gives up the act immediately and stops coughing. He gives Eddie an unimpressed look as he tosses a pack of blood capsules at him and says, “Yeah, I know. Stop fucking with me.”

WIP Wednesday Thursday ✨

So I’ve not been doing great ™️ lately. I’ve been insanely busy and I haven’t been writing much because I’m indecisive as hell and didn’t know what to do. I’ve also really been doubting my own skills, so yeah it’s been… a ride.

ANYWAY, enough complaining! I’ve got a new wip going (shocking I know!), called the asthma fic in which a fight between Buck and Eddie leads Buck to have an asthma attack despite not having had one for years 🥴

A huge shoutout to @tizniz who helped me brain storm this fic 💕 and thank you to everyone who keeps tagging me, you’re much appreciated 💕

Despite only sitting at an arm’s length, Buck feels like he’s a world away from Eddie. Normally the silence is comfortable, it’s safe and sometimes even wanted after a long shift. But right now, Buck is counting all of the many times that his parents did this to him. Didn’t want to deal with him and his feelings. He has to give up counting - there’s way too many times that he remembers and probably just as many that he’s forgotten all about. Expect his body hasn’t.

He traces the back of his hand, carefully picking at the skin as he swallows dryly, Eddie still not speaking. Eddie doesn’t say anything until they reach the main road. Buck doesn’t dare to be the one to break the silence, afraid of the consequences and the wrath that he without a doubt deserves.

“Buck, what the hell?” are the first words out of Eddie’s mouth. He doesn’t even turn his head to look at Buck but Buck is watching him carefully, his small mannerisms that indicates that this time Buck really fucked up.

Eddie’s jaw is locked tight, his nails are almost digging into the leather of the steering wheel and he’s shaking his head a little, shaking it in disapproval, Buck knows that much. “You can’t just…” Eddie takes a deep breath, wanting to get ahold of himself but all of the emotions and words inside his head are welling over, breaking the dam.

“You can’t just do shit like that, you know? You can’t just change plans without telling me about it. Especially not when it’s about Chris” He speaks.

Buck nods vaguely, not Eddie can see it anyway. He knows how much Christopher means to Eddie, that he will always be his first priority which is also totally reasonable. He just doesn't want this to be the thing that breaks them.

He can feel the tears brimming in his eyes, threatening to fall as the tightness in his chest increases and he coughs lightly, trying to shield Eddie from the fact that breathing is starting to become an ongoing struggle.

“I know, I’m sorry. I should have talked to you about it” Buck says and glances at Eddie who scoffs and pinches the bridge of his nose again. It reminds him a little too much of his father, ignoring him and walking away if he became too much to handle. They didn’t care. They were so busy mourning the son that they had lost that they forgot to nurture the one that was left. Maddie. Maddie was always there for him. She never gave up on him.
