Come On Over
Idol: Jiho (Oh My Girl)
Prompt: Scenario in which you’re also a girl group member and friends with Oh My Girl members. You hear from a close source (aka Mimi) that a slightly tipsy Jiho has feelings for you and is also forcing Mimi to drive her to your dorm late at night to confess after a couple of drinks and heavy encouragement from her members. You can decide how it ends!! Thank you 💕💕
Writer: Admin Kiwi
A/N: Seeing Oh My Girl without Jiho is going to be hard, but I hope she's happy and I wish her success in whatever path she chooses! I hope you all enjoy!

Late night calls were not totally unheard of for you to get. Sometimes your manager or group members would call, especially when the group was preparing for a comeback and staying late at the company to practice. But you certainly weren't expecting your phone to ring at 11pm on your day off, showing Mimi's name on the screen. Groggily, you rolled onto your side and swiped up to answer before any of your group mates could complain about the noise.
"Hello?" After speaking, you cleared your throat and sat up, trying to sound more awake than you really were. "What's up?"
There was noise on the other end of the line that sounded like girls laughing and talking before Mimi answered. "Hey, (Y/N)." She sounded exasperated and a little bit winded, but you could tell by the sound of her voice that she was probably smiling. "You're at your dorm right now, right?"
"Yes?" You rubbed at your eyes, your curiosity growing as someone shouted in the background of the call. "What's going on?"
"Well, it's a long story, but I guess Jiho and Seunghee were drinking and now I'm being roped into driving Jiho over there because she's decided that she needs to see you right this second. I figured I'd give you a bit of a heads up since it's so late at night."
Even more questions clouded your mind as you took in her words, listening to Seunghee laughing in the background. "I mean, okay. I'll never say no to seeing you guys, but why exactly is she coming over right this second?"
Mimi didn't answer right away, but above the commotion on the call you heard Seunghee yell "come on, you're confessing tonight! You've got this!" Then someone let out a loud whoop and your heart stopped beating.
Had you heard that right? Jiho was confessing? To you? You swallowed and ran your free hand through your hair, trying to calm your racing thoughts and not get your hopes up too high. You'd had a crush on Jiho since, well, since you'd met her, really. You didn't want to risk getting your hopes crushed, but your heart had come back to life and was now pounding wildly in your chest.
"Did you hear that?" Mimi asked, bringing your attention back to her. "Jiho wants to come tell you something, so ready yourself. We're leaving now."
"Wait-" you started to say, but the call ended, leaving you sitting dumbfounded in your bed, trying to piece together what just happened. Then you quickly jumped out of bed, causing one of your members to whine and tell you to be quiet. Quickly, yes it apologized before slipping out of the bedroom and heading straight to the bathroom to wash up. You couldn't look like a sleepy mess when they got there.
You barely had time to wash your face and brush your teeth before there was a knock at the door. You ran an anxious hand through your hair, trying to shake away the bed head before you headed for the door, waving away another one of your members as they poked their head out of their bedroom.
"Who is it?" They asked, their voice thick with sleep.
"Just some of the Oh My Girl girls. Jiho and Mimi. You can go back to sleep," you assured them. With a yawn, they nodded and closed the door, leaving you to open the door alone.
Standing on the step were Mimi and a flushed Jiho, her hands clasped in front of her. Mimi had a huge grin on her face as she pushed the other woman forward and waved.
“Well, you two have a fun talk. I’ll hang out in the car until you’re done.”
Jiho’s eyes widened and she opened her mouth to protest, but Mimi was already bounding down the stairs, whistling to herself. After watching her go, Jiho cleared her throat and looked back at you with a small, nervous smile that made your heart skip a beat.
“C-can I come in?”
“Of course. We just have to be quiet since my members are sleeping.”
She nodded and followed you inside, her hands still tightly clasped together in front of her. It wasn't until you guided her to the small couch in the front room that she finally unclasped her hands and wiped them on her pants, her eyes glued to the ground. You had to resist the urge to grin like an idiot at how cute she was.
“Jiho? Are you okay? You can sit down if-.”
“I-I like you!” The words seemed to burst from her lips out of their own volition, because she looked just as shocked as you felt as she brought her fingers up to her mouth. Then a grin spread across her face before your brain could remember how to form words. “I did it, I said it!” Her eyes came up to lock with yours, wide and proud as she surged forward and grabbed your hands. “I like you, (Y/N)! I like you a lot, more than as a friend.”
The quick change in emotions would be funny if you weren’t still reeling from her confession, your heart and brain racing each other as you tried to form the right words. Part of you wanted to gather her up in a hug right then and there, but the rational side of your brain won, pushing all of the thoughts of holding her tight from your head. Jiho was drunk, or at least tipsy, and you were NOT going to take advantage of that. No matter how much you wanted to kiss her, you wanted to make sure she meant what she was saying first. She couldn’t consent drunk.
“Well?” She asked, her voice suddenly trembling again as she stepped closer. “W-what’s your answer?”
Taking a deep breath, you squeezed her hands and gave her a trembling smile. “I like you too,” you admitted, speaking slowly so that you didn’t stumble over your own words. “But you’re drunk, Jiho.”
She frowned, looking up at you with confusion written all over her face. “So?”
“So, you might not remember this in the morning. Or you might regret it.”
“I won’t!” She said immediately, as if she was offended by the thought. “I wouldn’t, because I’ve liked you for a long time!”
You tried to ignore the way your heart did jumping-jacks at her confession, swallowing around all of the words you would say if she was sober. “I believe you,” you said, “but I want to make sure. Let’s wait until the morning.”
“Why?” There was a slight whine to her voice. “I just told you.” This proved to you that she was still drunk. Jiho was a level-headed person, and she would understand. She would smile at you and thank you if she was sober. Your resolve hardened, you squeezed her hands again.
“I know. But I have to make sure. You trust me, right?”
Without hesitation, she nodded.
“Thank you. This isn’t me rejecting you, Jiho. Tomorrow morning, if you remember this conversation, text me or call me and tell me again. And then I’ll give you my answer.”
She thought your words over for a moment, then sighed and nodded. “Okay. I will.” There was determination in her eyes as she looked back up at you. “I’ll call you tomorrow and tell you that I like you.”
You couldn’t help laughing at how cute she was, affection swelling in your chest. “Good. Come on, I’ll walk you back to the car.”
“Okay.”
She was pouting a bit as she got into the car, holding your hand for just a bit longer than she needed to, and Mimi sent you a wink, silently mouthing “thank you.” You gave her a thumbs up in return and watched them drive away before you slowly walked up to your dorm, your heart aching in your chest.
What if she woke up and regretted everything? What if this ruined your friendship? You shook your head, trying to chase away the negative thoughts. Jiho had trusted you, so you needed to trust her. You just needed to make it to the morning.
But as you laid down in your bed, shooing away your member’s curious questions, you couldn’t make the butterflies in your stomach calm down and every time you closed your eyes, you saw Jiho’s sweet, excited face. There was no way you were going to be able to sleep.
-
Sure enough, you spent the night tossing and turning, head clouded with thoughts about Jiho and worries about your poor heart being broken. By the time the sun came up, you’d given up on sleeping and instead wandered to the kitchen to get some caffeine and food. You were sitting at the table when your phone rang, making your heart once again do jumping jacks in your chest as the butterflies went crazy once again.
To be honest, you were a bit scared to look at the caller ID. It was with trembling hands that you picked up your phone. Sure enough, it was Jiho, and you took a deep breath to calm yourself before you answered the call, your entire body tense with expectation.
“Hello?”
“Good morning, (Y/N).” Jiho sounded sleepy and a bit sheepish on the other line, and you could imagine her smiling as she spoke.
You tried to think of a good response, but your brain froze and all you could get out was a breathy “Jiho.”
“It’s me,” she said, and you heard her take a breath. “Um, about last night.” There was a slight tremor to her voice, making you realize just how nervous she had to be.
“Yes?”
“I’m sorry about coming over like that.”
Your heart plummeted into your stomach, and you felt your head spin, all of the negative thoughts rushing through your mind at the same time. She regretted it, she was going to tell you that she didn’t actually like you, and she would never want to see you again.
“It’s ok-” you started to say, but she cut you off.
“W-wait! I’m sorry for barging in all drunk and pushy. But I’m not sorry for what I said.”
You froze and your heart stopped with you, hanging on her words like they were a lifeline. “What do you mean?”
“I like you, (Y/N).” She sounded more confident as she said it. “And thank you for being a sweetheart and sending me home. What you said last night, and how gently you handled me even though it was probably annoying to have me come over and say all that stuff.... It only made you fall for you more. I really like you, (Y/N). But I understand if you don’t return my feelings. I just wanted to call you and let you know that I did mean it last night, and to thank you. For everything.”
It took a moment for her words to sink in, and as they did, your body sank back into the chair as you let out a relived sigh, then a laugh, rubbing a hand over your face as you began to grin like crazy. There was a giddy feeling swelling in your chest and it was hard to push it down as you responded.
“I like you too, Jiho. So much. I’ve liked you for a long time.”
On the other end of the line, you heard her let out a soft squeal, then a laugh. “Oh my god, I really thought I ruined everything when I went over last night. It was so embarrassing, how do you still like me after all of that?” She sounded just as giddy as you as she giggled, and you could imagine how bright her face was as she spoke, making you grin even wider.
“Don’t worry, you were really cute. If anything, I just like you more now.”
“That’s my line! I’m never listening to my friends again.”
“But now we know we like each other, right?”
She paused on the other line, then let out an affectionate huff. “I guess. I’ll give them that.”
With a laugh, you pulled your legs up to your chest, wondering if this was a dream. You could hardly believe you were finally about to ask the question you’d wanted to ask her for so long. “So, will you be my girlfriend, Jiho?”
She giggled again. “So romantic. Come pick me up and take me to get breakfast and I’ll think about it.”
You could tell that she was joking, but you still stood up faster than you ever had, wanting to spend as much time with her as you possibly could. You couldn’t wait to see her smile again.
“I’ll be over in ten.”
“I’ll see you in ten, then,” she said sweetly, then paused. “Hey, (Y/N)?”
You stopped on your way to grab your shoes, raising your eyebrows even though you knew she couldn’t see you. “Yes?”
“I like you,” she whispered into the phone, and you clutched your chest, unable to keep the smile off your face. You would never forget this day, not for the rest of your life. How could you forget the happiest moment of your life?
“I like you too, Jiho.”
