My Follow Forever

So this is wayyy past due... whoops?

I hit 600 followers which is crazy to think that 600 people were like, yeah! Let’s go follow this person for their content! 

But honestly, this is just a reason for me to rant about how much I love my friends :)))) 

I’ll start with Phoebe because she’s been blowing up my notifications and inbox lately ;) @strayboys what does it mean when you’re my first recommended when I type in the @ symbol to tag blogs??? It means I love you and everything you do <333 honestly is there a person who’s as cute as Phoebe after she got her wisdom teeth out? I think not (I think therefore I am ;) good old SK puns) but seriously, we should atually message each other sometime, I have a lot of stories XD

Who next but @notbangchan oof CJ, have you realized we’ve pretty much messaged each other every day since I messaged you about college classes? That was like the beginning of February. Remind me to message you when you’re ready to learn more about me, because I have something I want to share with you that I’ve only told like two people before, because you’ve helped me with it! Only if you want me too though. One of my greatest encouragers! I had to message her to get motivation to write this XD (and Felix is motivation enough). I love you CJ!!!!! water lily: what helps you get through writer’s block?

well, this assumes that i ever get through writer’s block, and my fifteen unfinished fics would beg to differ :P

but okay, i’d probably say that sometimes it helps to switch up the fandom i’m writing for and just write something completely different to take a break from what i’ve been doing if i’m stuck. that can be a slippery slope, though, bc sometimes i never end up going back to the other fandom. (sorry @ fans of my unfinished pjo fics lol) other times, it helps to try writing a scene from a different character’s pov than the one i planned bc it offers a different perspective and sometimes helps me figure out why a scene wasn’t working at first!

and other times i just stop writing for long enough that the writer’s block goes away but i would not recommend that as a sustainable practice lol

sunflower: what is the best feedback/compliment you’ve ever received regarding your writing?

oh, gosh. i’ve gotten a lot of really amazing compliments and feedback over the years, so i’m going to cheat and mention multiple instances when i just took a step back and felt amazed and grateful for the people who read my stuff.

1) To Storm or Fire, a heroes of olympus fic that i will not link here bc it’s old as heck (lol), was the longest fic that i’ve ever written and/or finished. and one of the people who read that was the first person to ever write me a review on a fic that filled more than one word count limit on a single chapter - an impressive feat considering that ff.net wouldn’t let you write more than one review per chapter so she had to log out to finish her review as a guest! i remember getting the email for that review and just gasping bc i’d never seen that many words in one review before. it was such a lovely feeling :)

2) somebody else made a “book trailer” for that fic as well? which was insane and i couldn’t believe someone liked it enough to do something like that

3) @lirapheus once live-tweeted her reactions to one of the chapters i wrote for kotib, ch. 5, and not only was i incredibly amazed that she loved that fic enough to tell her irl friends about it, but she also pointed out things about my writing style that i hadn’t even realized that i was doing? i think i’ve learned more about my style (and in turn, how to improve that style) from her notes than from actually writing chapters, so tysm marina if you see this haha

4) and of course, @thehufflepuffshuffle??? abby your art is the most beautiful compliment anyone could wish for??? the fact that you always seem to draw scenes exactly the way i imagine them is not only amazing bc it means i’m actually conveying what i’m picturing in my head, but bc you have a gift for translating words to images. srsly you’re amazing :D

5) and finally, anytime someone comes into my inbox and tells me that reading kotib made them ship czeng. honestly, if something you write can cause people to ship two characters that they never would have pictured together before, that’s probably one of the greatest compliments of all haha

.....okay, that was way more than one but i just wanted to show some appreciation for the people who read my stuff bc they’re all the best tbh

hi clariiii! just popping in to say i loooove your touya-nii universe (and all others lol)! 🥺 i have read all your works, and i think your writing is both so raw and beautiful at the same time…and just captures the needy/desperate?? and all-consuming relationships your characters have. the imagery you use to describe a feeling too…its just 😌…

like the way you utilize touya’s “blue flames” from the actual show/manga and use it has a descriptor & just in general the use of fire/smoke/heat to describe his feelings towards y/n. also another moment i liked was when he licked y/n tears and you described how he swallows them to be protected by his heart and “cage of bone”…just like asfsedf i loved that bit of writing…! your writing is just sooo unique on here and one of my favorites 💕!

reading your latest piece really reminded me of a song im also obsessed with atm! not sure if you listen to keshi, but his latest song touch realllyyy just vibes with it i feel like! i recommend a listen! keshi also just had a way with words and melodies that are so smooth/soft and heartbreaking (but like heartbreaking in that good way if ya know what i mean?! lolol) at the same time that just feel like…i could hear playing in my head while i read your writing.

your writing also single-handedly made me want touya when i had never before lolol. honestly all my fave characters now, i love because a creator on here got me to love them haha.

'raw and beautiful is SUCH a fantastic compliment!! it makes me so insanely happy to hear that the obsessive, rabid relationships i write come across so clearly; all-consuming is absolutely the most perfect word for it, because that's exactly what they are. such a 'love' devours each characters soul from the inside out until they've fused together, constantly reliant on each other to survive.

aaaah hehehe honestly i just really love fire and water/ice. they're interesting elements to me and i like the way they look hahaha. but i also find them to just be fantastic to describe the physical FEELING of specific emotions, and i'm literally beyond happy that you've picked up on my tendency to do that in my work!!! i also just really love rib cages HAHAHA i think they're super cool and just like,,, intriguing??? because they're supposed to protect all of your vital organs right? idk i won't ramble on about that hahaha but WOW that means a lot to me, thank you <333
