Continuing to do some of the prompts @mihqorio sent in, this time [a] favorite OC in warm blanket. I legitimately cannot pick a favorite between Gale and Akos, but since I've already done two prompts for Gale, it's Akos' turn
Also, whatever it going on with this change to the post editor is bad. Badbadbad what is going on this is obnoxious

hi!!!! could you possibly do something where the reader and dom are on a podcast together?? i think that would be super fun☺️☺️
anon, this is probably the funniest request i've ever worked on oh my god.😭 i had so much fun writing this! thank you for sending it in!
this is heavily inspired by the drake podcast with bobbi! honestly, all her podcast episodes really. i also read a few of dom's interviews, so a good bit of the dialogue is based on some things he's actually said.
this is dialogue heavy just so you all know! hope you love it!

You move the mic stand that your crew set up, so it’s level with your face, and adjust yourself under the blankets of your guest star's bed.
“Okay, tell me when,” Dominic says. He’s holding the clapperboard, and watching your crew for his signal.
“Marking.” He says into the mic, then snaps the take. He grins, while one of the crew members come to take the clapperboard. “Ah, bet you didn’t think I knew about that huh?”
It’s episode seven of your podcast, and you somehow managed to get Dominic Fike as your guest. You’ve been a fan of his for years, and have followed him through his ups and downs of fame, fortune, and misfortune.
You’re a little shocked at how well you’re keeping your composure by being able to have your favorite artist featured on your show, but you're thankful for it.
“Hello everyone, welcome to episode seven of I’m Not in Your Bed, and today I’m here with.”
You look over at Dominic, and he leans into his mic.
“Dominic Fike. How are you guys today.”
“Are you talking to me or the viewers?”
“The viewers.”
“This isn’t live though, so you won’t get to know their responses.” You turn on your side so you're facing Dom, and move your mic in front of you.
“Well yeah, but, isn’t that like proper podcast etiquette or some shit.” He starts to trail off towards the end and he looks at the staff. You hear a few of them chuckle, and you almost do too, but you can’t break character.
“Who taught you that?”
“Well, I just sort of.” He pauses for a moment, “Fuck you.” There’s no bite to it, and the staff laughs out.
"You think Drake is watching this?" He asks, fixing the glasses on his face.
"Maybe, he was my episode four."
"Were you in his bed too?"
"Yeah, I was."
"Fucking cheater." That earns him a few laughs behind the camera.
“How does it feel having a stranger in your bed?” You ask. Dominic tilts his head in thought.
“Well, it’s not too weird. I used to have random women in here all the time.”
He then grabs hold of the mic and stares dead into the camera. “Not anymore though. Completely abstinent. Not fucking. Stop having sex. I’m talking to you. The one watching me say this while probably planning on having sex later.” You stare at him and press your lips together, letting the silence after his proclamation linger in the air.
“And how’s that been going for you?”
“You know, it’s been well. I’ve stopped a lot of crazy shit recently. Stopped smoking, stopped drugs. Stopped drinking more than 4 cups of coffee a day.”
“How do you like your coffee.”
“Black. I hate that creamer shit.”
“You know it’s reported that some of the most known serial killers drank their coffee black and were Capricorns?” Dom’s eyebrows raise.
“Oh fuck, really?”
“No, I made it up. But you feel a little crazy now don’t you?” Dominic drops his head and starts laughing, the staff right along with him.
“What’s your sign?” He asks once he gathers himself.
“Cancer.”
“Ah, that makes sense. You probably have a mommy kink or some shit huh?” You look at him in disbelief and suck your teeth when your staff betrays you with giggles.
“I do not–”
“Momm–.”
“Dominic.” You warn, glaring at him. He bursts out laughing, and you can’t help the scoff you let out.
“You know, they do say that Capricorns and Cancers are the mom and dad of the zodiac.” You try to reason.
“You’re the mom right?” He asks. You squint your eyes at him and dig around the space between you two.
“I lied, I'm a Leo.”
“No, you’re not.”
“I know.” You pull out a little knitted beanie baby from the blankets. It wears the hat Dominic had on during Coachella. “A fan made this for you right?”
“Yes, she did! Isn’t it sick?”
“It is. How does it feel having some of the most creative fans there is out there?”
Dominic looks between you, and the plush, then reaches his hand out for it. “You know, it's almost surreal. This fame shit kinda came out of nowhere for me, so there was a huge adjustment period I went through when it came to people supporting me and giving me things they put so much time into.”
You nod, letting him continue.
“I think I’m still adjusting to it really, but nothing brings me more joy than like seeing this stuff you know? I love my fans, and I’d be nothing without them.”
“It seems they love you back just as much, if not more.” Dom grins and nods, “Yeah, I’d say so. They’re so fucking creative.”
“Have you read your fanfics?”
“Jesus fucking Christ.”
“Because I have one right here we can—” You stop mid-sentence and pull out your phone.
“Are you serious?” He looks at the camera as if he was Jim from The Office when you ignore him, and begin typing with urgency.
“This is the most excited I’ve seen you since this started.”
You ignore his comment and hand him your phone with a fic pulled up.
“Read this.”
“Yo, do you read these yourself? You found this way too fast.”
“I found this one last night. Now read.”
It’s a Tumblr story you saved for this very moment, and you wouldn’t pass up the opportunity.
“Smut? What’s smut?” He looks at you for an answer, but you just gesture your hands toward the phone for him to keep reading.
It’s silent for a few, and you signal your cameraman to zoom in on Dominic’s face.
You watch as his face morphs into confusion, then surprise, then what you assume is mild interest, before he’s pulling the phone back and his eyes are blown wide.
“Holy fucking shit y’all write porn about me?” The crew erupts into laughter, and you tuck your lips in to avoid laughing too.
“Smut.” You say.
Dominic glances from you, back to the phone.
“Why am I kinda turned on by this.”
“Because I wrote it.”
Dominic whips his head towards you, and his mouth drops.
“Wait really?” You don’t respond, reaching down to the floor and pulling up a box of Reese’s Puffs cereal.
“Reese’s?” You ask, dropping a handful into your mouth and holding the box out to him.
“Where did you—” Dominic keeps the same shocked expression and turns back towards the camera. The cameraman starts to laugh again and zooms in on his face.
“When did you—” He stops, watching you chew with mild interest to his confusion. So he presses his lips together, clicks your phone off, and folds his hands together over his lap.
“Yeah, let me get some.” You wordlessly lean over and Dominic tilts his head back so you can shake some cereal from the box into his mouth.
“Good?” You ask while chewing.
“Yeah.” He nods. Silence ensues while you both continue to chew while staring at each other. Then at the same time, you turn to the camera with monotone expressions. It’s unplanned, and the crew let out chuckles once again.
“So how was touring?” You swallow, and reach down towards the floor again, pulling up two bowls with spoons in them. Dom’s learned not to question you anymore at this point, and just accepts a bowl.
“It was fucking fun dude. I wasn’t expecting everyone to know the words of my album for the first few dates since I toured a solid week after the release.”
“Resse’s, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or Lucky Charms?”
“Cinnamon Toast Crunch.”
You pull up that box, and pour some into his bowl, then yours. “It must have felt incredible to hear them yelling it back to you. Did it?”
“Oh man, I don’t think that’s something I’ll ever get used to. A lot of my songs are me just fucking around and making stuff that people can dance to you know?” You nod, and bring up a jug of milk, filling up your bowl, then Dom’s.
“So when I’m performing, it kinda feels like me and my fans are just kicking shit up. I’m dancing, they're dancing, it feels good. It’s fun. Whatever’s bothering them can just be forgotten for a bit.” He takes a spoonful of cereal to his lips and hums around his spoon.
“I was at one of your shows, the LA one. And what I noticed was that your energy on stage is unbelievable.” You press your cereal down into the milk with your spoon, before continuing.
“Like, you look so youthful, and just in your element up there. You bring such an intense and loving energy to every show and I strangely found myself missing you when it was all over and I’d never even formally met you until now.”
It’s silent for a moment, Dominic soaking up your words while you begin eating.
“Was that your way of confessing? Are we like gonna kiss now?”
You roll your eyes and your crew giggles.
“No, but seriously, thank you. That means the world, especially when like I said before I’m still adjusting to this shit.”
“Well for what it’s worth, I think you’re navigating through all this perfectly. It’s why I became a fan in the first place. Your talent is unique to you and only you. And I mean it when I say talent like that only comes once in a lifetime.”
You point your spoon at him, “I’m sure I can speak for all of us when I say we’re beyond lucky to experience you and all your greatness in our lifetime.” You give him a big smile.
Dominic stares at you, and you can’t read his expression but you also don’t look for too long. Opting to look into your cereal bowl, because you could feel the love-sick look that was about to show on your face.
“You’re too good at this sentimental shit dude, what the fuck.” His voice sounds a bit choked up, so you try to lighten the mood.
“Don’t start crying on here or I’ll be forced to use it as my thumbnail for views.” The staff comes to your aid with laughter, and Dominic joins in.
“You wouldn’t do that.” He goes to wipe his face with his shirt but is met with silence and your face back to its deadpan. He looks between you and the staff, then the camera. He speaks a little unsure, his voice going up a pitch.
“Right?”
You fully break character and full-on laugh. Unable to keep up your act with him.
The podcast continues for a bit longer before you bring it to a close.
“Is there anything else you’d like to say before I take a nap in your bed?” The cameraman zooms in on Dominic.
“Um, thank you for having me. This was easily my favorite interview I’ve done. The cereal was great.” he laughs and holds up the bowl. “To my fans, I love you all so much, thank you for always showing out for me.”
“Please continue to love my album, and stay tuned for what’s to come.” Someone behind the camera whistles, and everyone begins clapping.
The camera zooms out and shows you staring at Dom with the expression you feared the most. You’re looking at him with a dopey smile, cheek resting against the palm of your hand.
One of the staff calls out your name, and you blink, jumping up and looking at the camera, then back at Dom who’s looking at you with a shit-eating grin.
“Oh my god, were you falling in love with me just now?”
“No, what.” You scoff, looking around like he’s crazy.
“Holy shit, you were totally falling in love with me!” He laughs while moving up and pointing at you excitedly. The staff once again, betray you and join Dom. You mutter curses and pull back the blankets, stumbling off the bed and speed-walking away. The camera follows you, as you go behind the staff and all the equipment.
“Wait, I’m sorry!” Dominic’s still laughing, hopping up and following after you.
“Let me take you out to dinner, I’m sorry!” He calls, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and slinging himself over you, while you cover your face and groan.
The camera follows you both all the way out until you turned the corner. Laughs still loud and boisterous on the set.

Distance // Harry Styles
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(A/N: I hope y'all enjoy my first Harry Styles piece - it's been so long since I've written angst. Let me know how it is! And let me know if you want a part 2)
Harry had been in a terrible mood all day. His photo shoot didn't go well, which threw off his radio interview and his entire schedule ended up messed up. This resulted in him being late for filming his newest movie, and if he was honest with himself, he might be able to say he was just embarrassed because impressions are everything in this business.
You hadn't been able to be there for him today - your work day dragged on, and you got guilted into staying late by your boss since you were so short staffed. Harry had been telling you to stand up for yourself for months now, but it was easier said than done in the moment, with your giant, red-faced, middle-aged boss staring down at you expectantly - your job status hanging in the air for the rest of the office to see.
So you just stopped telling him. Stopped telling him about the public humiliation of your boss if you refused to stay late or come in early. How he'd essentially threaten your job status if you didn't check your emails and respond from home during off-work hours. You stopped talking about work altogether, and Harry hardly noticed, with his schedule busier than yours most of the time.
It had him coming home from work way later than you, even on your late days. He'd grab a quick bite to eat from the pantry, and find you in bed already most days. He'd just pull you close, half asleep, and press a gentle kiss to your forehead, before nodding off himself.
Though today was annoying for Harry, it was worse for you. You had forgotten to reply to an email before heading into work and your boss screamed at you in front of your coworkers. He made you miss your lunch break, keeping you working on piles of paperwork. When you finally left work, your hands were shaking and tears were threatening to fall.
You get back in your car, leaning your forehead on the steering wheel, tears starting to flow down your cheeks as overwhelm takes over your system. You pull back and smack the steering wheel angrily. Then you pull your phone out to text Harry, noticing a couple missed calls.
From: Harry💕
Where are you?
To: Harry💕
I'm on my way home.
It wasn't a normal occurance for him to be home before you, so you were uneasy walking into the apartment, already overwhelmed from your day.
Harry sits in the living room with his guitar, strumming it gently, not looking up as you walk in.
"I'm home." You say meekly, putting your purse down and heading further into the room to kick off your shoes.
He's silent for a moment before dragging his eyes from his fingers up to yours.
"Where were you?"
His voice is soft and low, emotionless. You swallow harshly and rub the sides of your arms self-consciously.
"Work. I had to stay late." You answer, moving to sit in the chair next to the couch.
"I thought you were done with that shit." He shakes his head, lips pursing.
"That shit is my job, Har. And I had to stay." You say firmly, shaking your head.
"You told me you were done staying late."
"I never said that. You assumed that. I didn't have a choice, Harry! When I say I had to stay late, I had to. I had no choice. And you can't get off saying anything about working late. You're the king of working late."
"Oh, give me a break-" He starts, but you interrupt him.
"Give you a break? Are you kidding me?" Your voice gets higher as you get more flustered, anger starting to build deep in your chest. Anger at how Harry is acting; anger at the whole situation with your boss. "Give ME a break. I've been working my ass off to keep my job, working late almost every night and going in early, and you're sitting here judging me?"
"You don't need that job, I already told you I'd support you if you just quit."
"I can't just quit my job, Harry. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy having a purpose. If it wasn't for-" I throw my hands up in exasperation. "Never fucking mind. It doesn't matter."
"I work hard too, Y/N. But I don't keep things from you."
"I can't talk about this anymore." Your voice shakes, tears threatening to spill over.
Harry puts down his guitar immediately, his annoyance left behind as his brow furrows and he reaches for you.
"No, don't touch me." Your cheeks are flushed, hands trembling as you stand from your chair and move away from him. "Don't touch me."
The air between you two is tense as Harry gets to his feet.
"Baby, this is about more than us, isn't it?" He asks, concern etching into his features.
"Don't patronize me."
"I'm not!" He exclaims, running his hands through his hair. "You're just freaking out and things are escalating and I don't know how to stop it! You should have told me how shitty things were!"
"When? When was I supposed to have told you, Harry? Between shoots? Oh, I know. Why don't I call you while you're on air and we can talk about it then." Tears start to fall down your cheeks, and Harry grabs your hands, trying to pull you into his chest, but you pull them away. "I haven't had a moment to myself other than sleeping, Harry. I'm constantly on call at work. My job is threatened, my boss is up my fucking ass."
"Like I said before, it's time to quit."
"Quitting isn't always the answer to everything, Harry. You quit, not me." You’re even surprised by the words leaving your mouth.
"What is that supposed to mean?" He asks, crossing his arms. "You're no angel either, Y/N. You are in the wrong here. You're the one hiding things." Harry shakes his head, trying to focus the conversation before someone gets hurt.
"Maybe I wouldn't be hiding things if you paid more attention to me."
"I'm doing my best with the projects I have going on right now. They're extremely important-" You cut him off.
"There it is. They're important."
"No, don't-"
"Thanks, Harry, glad to know where I sit on that list of important things." He reaches for you again. "No, please. I need space. I need air."
You push past him out onto the balcony, leaving Harry flustered and shocked, standing in the middle of the room.

next part!
"ok, thank you so much for your time. can you start next monday?" your interviewer asked, you had finally secured a well-paying job that fit your skills to a tee, at none other than Reminiscence, one of the most successful modeling agencies in the world as a makeup artist and stylist,
"yeah! that should work, thank you so much!" you gave your interviewer a quick yet formal bow, and calmly left the room, making your way out of the building with haste, eager to collapse in your giant, fluffy bed. as you started your car, you realized something, you had left your purse in the interviewing room! somehow you had your keys but not your purse, which was kinda dumb. anyways, you sprinted back into the building, shockingly balanced despite your high heels being, you know, horribly brittle. thankfully, your purse was still there, your interviewer saying they would've called you later if you hadn't returned already. you thank them again, and steadily pace your way out of the building yet again, making sure everything was still there, until (a/n: ugh so cliché but im fresh out of original ideas) a person clearly in a hurry ran straight into your back,
"OH MY GOD IM SO SORRY!" a man with royal-like silver hair fit for a prince, with the looks like they were god-sent, with his ears and cheeks pink like cotton candy, you were getting lost in his visuals as he kept rambling on how it was an accident and how he was in a hurry, but you paid none of it any attention, he seemed to be around your height if it weren't your heels, you couldn't help but think fuck he's so pretty. soon, once this prince-like man had finished his mini-rant, he noticed that you were staring at him, clearly not listening to anything he said,
“um, are you alright ma’am?” he smiled awkwardly,
“hm? oh yeah, sorry, was just thinking about something,” you returned his gentle smile,
"ok so what i was sayi-" he was about to restart his whole rant before you cut him off,
"hey, it's fine, don't worry about it, mk?" you smiled again,
"you sure?" he raised a perfect eyebrow,
"yeah, i'm sure, now i gotta get going, don't beat yourself up alright?" he gave a small "ok" and then you were both on your way, although, you couldn't help but letting that man cross your mind with every passing minute, and after a few more red lights and various turns, you had reached home, aka your apartment. ah, my bed, my beloved bed. soon, you quickly changed out of the clothes you wore to the interview, and into more comfortable attire. since you were quite free for the rest of the day, you plopped down onto your heavenly bed and decided to research the company you were gonna work for. you already knew a ton about Ethereal Inc, you just wanted to look random stuff up, plus you were bored as hell. you were doing some digging around the web, and you- HOLY MOTHERFUCKING SHIT! HE'S A MODEL!? AT REMINISCENCE!? OH MY FUCKING GOD I MIGHT HAVE TO WORK WITH HIM! yeah, and you really didn't know how to feel about it. there were pros and cons, aka you having to work with a gorgeous noble hot as fuck man who's name was apparently yoon jeonghan, however, he might be too embarrassed from this morning's events, and may refuse to work with you. were you just overthinking things? it's all a possibility, but you never know.

Wreckless - The Package
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Emmett
I spent the rest of the day doing laundry in my new rocket-ship washer, playing with Marten, watching YouTube and managing to install the water line I needed for the fridge and stocking it well.
I'm not sure when I got so old but really... I was never wild and crazy.
Whatever bit of rebellious young man I ever had in me, was handled quite thoroughly by the army.
Once I got home... I'd had enough of everything... teh bars, noise, people, danger... I'm very happy in my little nest.
Finnegan texts me, apologizing again and thanking me for lunch and dessert.
It didn't go according to plan... I'd hoped to have a sweet, loving session that we both enjoyed but I didn't get him off because after the argument, we had very little time but that's okay.
He didn't seem to mind and he has an amazon package arriving today.
Emmett Locke: You're welcome. You have a package waiting for you at home. Feel free to use or not use it to your heart's content.
Finnegan Walker: Interest piqued. Tell me?
And ruin the fun I'm having?
Besides, maybe it'll help distract him during interviews.
Emmett Locke: No.
Finnegan Walker: Something I can use, not wear? Huh, no idea.
Nope, his cute new undies and t-shirt are coming to my place.
I found him a 'little' matching set that I think he'll love.
A little... I'm funny.
Three hours later he calls me and he's laughing.
"You got me a unicorn dildo?"
"You mentioned it, not me. When I saw it, I had to get it for you."
"And it's rainbow coloured."
A definite benefit.
"They had three sizes. I hope you enjoy this one since I couldn't take care of you at the office."
"It's huge. A smaller one would have been plenty."
"That's the medium size."
"WHAT? They make a bigger one than this? You're fucking with me, right?"
No I'm not.
That's the whole point.
"I swear, Emmett"
He suddenly sounds shy.
"Can you... I mean can we talk while I uh... you know?"
Is he really asking that?
Has anyone ever... EVER... said no to that? Ever?
"Of course darling. Facetime too, if you want."
"Not sure I can handle that, no, no, you'll have to settle for my voice. I have to get changed first though and take my contacts out, you know."
"Prep, yes, yes you do that. Call me back whenever."
I grab my laptop and pull up the picture so I can really visualize everything he's saying and then pull out my favorite dildo.
It's been awhile and this sounds fun, especially if he's on the other end of the line doing the same as me.
He doesn't make me wait too long.
"Hey darling."
"Hi. I'm on my bed."
He's so cute.
"Funny, so am I. I'm on my side and am about to lube up."
"Wait, you're going to...? You're going to play too?"
"If you don't mind. I promise I'll pay lots of attention to you."
"Of course I don't mind Emmett. I just... no, it's nice. I haven't done this, phone-sex I mean, in like a million years and I was SO bad at it last time."
He seems to have no idea how incredibly sexy he is.
"I doubt that. Are you going to get yourself hard first?"
"Already am. I've been sort of miserable since lunch. Not that I mind," he adds.
"Yeah... But I'm... um... on my front and I'm rubbing against the sheets."
That explains the rustling and it's a nice visual.
Very nice.
"Do they feel good against your cock, Finny?"
"Hmm... I wanna suck on it. I wonder what the spiral will feel like."
"You'll have to twist it once it's nice and deep inside your ass, Finny."
It's the perfect time to shoot some lube up my ass and I can't help but moan.
Yes, it's been way too long.
"Suck on it. Do it while I start working this dildo in. I'm going to be so damn tight, Finnegan, it's going to take me awhile."
"Holy SHIT you're... Oh God I thought you were going to jerk off... I mean... Oh God you're playing... I mean you're...?"
"I'm gonna fuck myself just like you are, yeah. How deep in your mouth did you get, hmm? What color?"
"Ooh... Do you know the...? Of course you do. Most of the orange. I can do most of the orange without gagging."
"You're such a good boy. Lick it for me... all the way from the bottom to the tip."
He moans and I imagine he's doing it to my cock.
I love his tongue and lips around my length.
"I bet you can get it into your ass that deep as well.... don't you think? You'll need lots of lube babe, remember that sex-toys aren't supposed to hurt."
"No, that's your job. I remember, Emmett."
I shiver and push the sex-toy in a bit further... until I can really feel the nice stretch.
"Oh damn... that feels so good. Yes."
"You sound so good, Emmett. You're breathing hard."
"That's because my ass feels good and I'm stroking my cock. I want you to lube up the horn and rub the tip along your pretty little slit."
"Okay. I will."
It takes him a moment but I know as soon as it's pressing against him because he sighs.
"Feels so good."
"Do you want it? Keep teasing yourself with it until you really, really need it... until you can't stand not having it inside you."

This Waiting Is Driving Me Wild
Alex Turner x reader
Tumblr media
Summary: A buzzed haired Alex teases you all throughout an awards event; you reject him at first, and he makes you regret it later.
warnings: smut, light bondage, spit kink, edging
word count: 5.6k
-Requested from Wattpad
a/n: I have no damn clue if the kink shit is correct, so don't mind that, also I may change it later, so who knows
✿✼:*゚:༅。.。༅:*・゚゚・⭑ ✿✼:*゚:༅。.。༅:*・゚゚・⭑
You felt anticipation build up in the pit of your stomach whenever they announced the nominees for the best alternative album of 2018 category: Colors by Beck, Masseduction by St. Vincent, and Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino by Arctic Monkeys.
You held your breath, every inch of your body hoping for Alex's band to win, then they called the winner.
"And the winner is ... Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino by the Arctic Monkeys," the presenter called, stopping in between words to read the winner of off the card. You and everybody else in the room clapped and as the band stood up, Alex gave you a kiss, then walked up to the stage with the rest of the band to accept the award.
He winked at you while he was walking up the stairs without anyone but you knowing, making you blush. He walked up to the stand and took the microphone from the lady, beginning to speak. "One, two. One, two, there we go. Well, I would first of all like to thank everyone who has supported us by listening to the album, buying it, and coming to our shows. I'm very glad that you all enjoyed it enough for us to win, and for that, I'd like to say thank you, this truly does mean a lot," he said, Matt and Nick chattering behind him.
Alex said thank you one last time before they walked off stage, walking back to the table, sitting down beside you. He placed a chaste kiss on your cheek, placing the award down on the table. They soon started to call the next award nominees, and most everyone paid attention to it, you included. Alex on the other hand was watching you and you saw out of the corner of your eye that he licked his lips, one of his hands coming up to your thigh, rubbing dangerously close to the hem of your dress, coming closer and closer to go under it.
You quickly grabbed his hand and pushed it away, leaning over to tell him something. "Alex, we can't, not here, not now. We're at an awards event, one where your album is nominated," you said sternly. He bit his lip and looked as if he was deep in though, which he normally was, always coming up with the perfect response to everything.
"But, baby, you look so sexy and I don't know how much longer I can wait to 'ave you," he said, whispering in your ear, rubbing your thigh again. You moved your hand over his to top him from moving up your thigh. You turned to pay more attention to the rest of the awards ceremony.
They called the next category and said the nominees' names, another host going up to the stage to announce the winner, everyone clapping their hands, you included, when they did. While the winner was giving a small speech, Alex leaned over and kissed your neck lightly, making you look back him and give him a glare as a warning to stop. He just smirked, knowing just how to get you riled up.
He leaned over, whispering another profanity in your ear. "Baby, you look so sexy in that dress. I can't wait to have you."
"Well, you have to wait," you replied, kissing his cheek, grabbing his hand to stop him from moving any further up your leg. You looked into his eyes, waiting for him to respond, but he didn't.
You tried to be patient, hoping that he would realize that you couldn't do anything with him at the moment, and maybe not at all tonight since you would get home late and be really tired - or at least that's what you thought.
The winner walked off stage and they started to announce the next category. Though as you watched and listened, Alex started back up again with his teasing, his hand now going up your dress, ignoring your previous warnings, finding its way to the hemline of your panties, toying with it.
"Alex," you warned, grabbing his wrist to stop him from going any further than he already was. "I told you, you have to wait until we get home."
"But, baby, this waiting is driving me wild, and I know that it's driving you wild too, can't tell me otherwise," he said, getting more confident at the end of the statement. You laughed. "No, it's not actually. Because, unlike you, I'm not horny twenty-four seven," you said, turning away.
"Don't lie to me, I know 'ow horny you get. Remember the 2014 BRITS?" he said nonchalantly, whispering in your ear. You lied and said you didn't, but you did.
-
"God, Alex, please just take me already," you moaned, his tip teasing your entrance. You'd begged all throughout the awards ceremony for him to take you to the bathroom and fuck you, and he finally gave in, escaping the after party, leaving and going home.
He was now teasing you, making sure that you were a whimpering mess for him. He cocked his head and pushed himself all the way inside you.
It was a very, very long night.
-
"Yes, you do. You're thinking about it now, aren't you?" he said, kissing your cheek. You rolled your eyes and tried your best to ignore him, pushing his hands away, dodging his kisses, tuning him out, insisting that you talk to Katie and Jamie instead.
You were able to make it through another thirty minutes of the ceremony, Alex taking a break from being a narcissistic, horny, teasing asshole. Though after the thirty minutes was gone, he started right back where he started. It didn't matter how many times you told him no, your warnings only fueled him even more, getting bolder and bolder each time.
He leaned over to you when no one was looking, everyone else far too focused on the stage. "Baby, when we get home, I'm going to fuck you up," he whispered, gripping your thigh tightly. Though his words weren't abnormal for him, they did take you by surprise. You looked at him, surprised by his boldness to do that in front of everyone.
"Alex," you said, giving him a warningly look. He just smirked, more than likely planning how he was going to get you to beg for him by the end of the night.
He of course continued this behavior the rest of the awards show, making sure to tease you, placing kisses to your neck when no one was looking, whispering dirty profanities in your ear, rubbing up your thigh, eventually going under your dress to play with them hemline of your underwear .... again.
-
The event had ended and you and Alex were now at the after party, even though you hated parties. You were talking to Kelly and Nick, the only thing that would keep you sane at the moment, and you were congratulating Nick on the awards that they had won tonight. "Congratulations, Nick. You all deserve the award so, so much," you said.
"Oh, it's really nothing, but thank you anyways," he said, waving it off. Him and Kelly walked over to Jamie and Katie to talk to them, leaving you alone. You decided to go and find Alex, haven't had seen him in the past thirty minutes, wondering where he was.
You looked around for at least ten minutes, asking anyone you knew where he was, most of them not knowing themselves. You finally found him talking with Miles, who would have thought. The two most amazing friends hanging out together, you should have known.
Alex's back was facing you, so Miles noticed you first. "Oh, hey, love," he said, making Alex turn around. "Hey, Mi. Do you mind if I steal Alex away from you for just a minute?" you said, holding Alex's arm. He shook his head no and got up, leaving you and Alex alone.
"Alex, can we leave?" you asked. He smirked, taking your request the wrong way, thinking that you wanted him now. "You finally came to your senses, I see," he smirked, grabbing you by the waist, kissing your neck while no one was looking. You pushed him away for what felt like the millionth time tonight.
"No, Alex, not like that. I mean that I'm tired and want to go home," you explained. But he of course wouldn't take that as an answer, thought that you were just begging him for him to take you. He kept saying that you weren't tired and just decided that you wanted him, saying that you both could go to the bathroom instead of going home and leaving.
You kept trying to convince him, kept trying to prove that you were tired and you even brought up the fact that you hated parties to try and convince him.
Finally, you convinced him, and he was ready to take you home. "Fine, just let me have a smoke and we'll leave," he said, couldn't believe that you didn't want him. You nodded and stayed seated while he went outside to smoke.
You waited patiently - twenty-two minutes went by and still no Alex. You decided to go and look for him, then head out to the car. You quickly said goodbye to everyone and walked outside, immediately seeing Alex. He was done with his smoke, seemingly waiting for you. "You ready to leave, darling?" he asked, smirking, still not believing that you wanted to go home because you were tired.
"Yes, I am, Al," you said, taking his hand, Alex leading you to the car, opening the door for you, walking around to the other side to get in, starting the car. And finally, after three long hours of his teasing, it was time to leave and go home, and just like before, Alex of course had to tease you to his fullest extent. "Can't believe that you didn't want me earlier," he said, his voice suggestive.
"I always want you, Al, but I'm tired. I'm ready for bed," you said. You were very tired, the amount of interviews Alex was in tonight, the waiting, killed you, the amount of times you had to push Alex's hand away and tell him no, and then the after party that you had practically begged for Alex to take you home. And Alex being, well, Alex, took your begs as requests for him to take you home and fuck you, and you had to convince him that it was because you were tired, which took a lot of convincing that wore you out.
You were glad when you and Alex finally got home, you were ready to go to bed, but Alex had other plans, immediately slamming you against the wall, kissing you deeply. If you were tired before, you surely weren't now, the heat of the kiss waking you up fully from your sleepy state.
He grabbed the underside of your thighs, signaling for you to jump and you did. Alex carried you down the hallway all the way into the bedroom, almost throwing you on the bed. He began to rid you of your clothes, leaving you in just your bra and underwear, kissing you everywhere he could. You tried to unbutton his shirt, but he quickly pushed your hands away, not allowing you to touch him.
Alex leaned down and captured you lips in a hard, passionate kiss, you hands going around his neck, scratching at the fuzz on the back of his neck. He bit you bottom lip, slipping his tongue past your lips, exploring you mouth. You could taste the wine and beer he'd had at the event, as well as the last cigarette he smoked right before you left the after party.
You felt him hard against your leg, his cock straining in his tight trousers. He pulled away from the steamy kiss unexpectedly, starting to crawl down your body, kissing down your neck, collarbone, breasts, stomach, stopping at your abdomen, just above where you needed him, the ache between your legs more prominent than it had been all night long.
He looked up at you, your eyes locking with his. "Alex, please," you begged, desperate for him now.
"Look who's begging for me to fuck you now," he smirked, the cocky tone in his voice obvious. You begged him some more with your eyes, eventually getting exactly what you wanted. He pulled down your underwear with his teeth, and you kicked them off into the floor. Alex nudged your thighs apart with one of his hands and started to kiss up your thighs, stopping when he reached your core, blowing on it, sending shivers up your body.
He waited a moment, and you were about to beg him again, but he quickly dipped his head down, placing wet, sloppy kisses to your heat, using his hands to hold your thighs as far apart they could go.  And then his tongue lapped at your folds, spreading around your arousal.
He moved down to your dripping wet cunt, sticking his tongue inside of you, knowing how crazy it would drive you. You gripped the sheets, balling them up in your fists, needing to have something to hold on to, his hair not nearly long enough for you to do that.
Alex lifted his head up from your heat, wiping his face that was slick with your arousal. "Knew you wanted me. You're so wet, baby," he drawled, looking at the mess he had made of you in barely seven minutes.
He dipped his head back down to your heat again, his hands gripping your thighs tightly, holding them far apart. His tongue kept poking inside of you, and you writhed underneath him, the feeling too good, he was too good.
He moved his mouth back over to your clit, sucking it into his mouth, quickly replacing his tongue with two of his fingers, starting to pump them in and out of you slowly, setting a pace to your dismay. Though the pace wasn't nearly what you wanted, it drove you wild. He'd done this so many times, drove you wild so many times, that he knew exactly how to drive you mad, knew exactly how to make you feel so good.
You started to absent mindly grind your hips on his face, desperate to try and get his fingers to go faster in and out of you and to sink deeper inside of you. Alex chuckled against your skin, vibrations shooting up your body, and he took one of his hands and placed it on your hip to hold you down.
He quickly started to move his fingers faster, your orgasm getting closer and closer. "Alex, I-I'm so close," you said, voice trailing off into a moan as he had pressed down on your clit. He pressed down on your clit harder and with that, you shook, your orgasm washing over you.
You gripped the sheets tighter and wrapped your legs around Alex's head, his hand still on your hips. He kept moving his fingers, and you rode out your high. Alex sat up, removing his fingers from you and you whimpered at the loss of contact. He sat up, wiping his face that was, once again, slick with your arousal. You looked up at him, meeting eyes with him, seeing only lust in them. "How many do you think you can do?" Alex asked, removing his shirt, standing up to remove the rest of his clothes, leaving his bandanna neck scarf, which you didn't think much of at the moment, and you wasted no time before sitting up to help him out of his pants, stroking his cock when you removed his boxers.
He was painfully hard, precum forming on his tip that was a slight reddish purple color. He pushed you back down on the bed, sitting over your hips, straddling you. "I think that I can do th-three - oh," you said, moaning when he pushed your legs apart and pushed himself inside you, his head dropping down on your shoulder, biting down on it, sure to leave a mark.
He gave you very little time to fully adjust, starting to move once he regained some of his composure. He pulled almost all the way out of you before slamming back into you, gripping your hip with one hand, the other one holding himself above you.
Your hands ghosted over his toned chest, stopping at his broad shoulders, gripping onto them tightly, your nails digging into his skin. Alex started moving faster - much, much faster. Your eyes closed automatically, the way his cock stroked your walls felt too good, driving you mad. One of your hands moved up to the back of his head, scratching at the fuzz on his freshly buzzed head.
Your moans got louder as he fucked you harder, faster, and more mercilessly, taking good care of you like he always did. Alex's hand that was on your hip moved to rub vigorously on your clit, thrusting in and out of you faster and faster. Alex delivered a very hard thrust, hitting the spongey spot that made you see stars, flicking your clit, sending you over the edge.
Your eyes rolled back into your head, your grip on his shoulders tightening, so much so that you were sure that you would leave a mark. You rode out your high, Alex's movements not even slowing, but going faster.
Moans fell from your mouth, getting louder and louder. You'd just come down from your second orgasm, you were tired and sore and wore out, and you didn't know how much more you could take. Alex's head dropped down on your shoulder, placing kisses to it, eventually settling on a spot and sucking harshly on it.
You wrapped your legs around his waist, your feet locking at the back, and you started to grind onto him to meet his movements, the pleasure becoming too much for you to handle. A knot started to build up in the pit of your stomach, your third orgasm approaching you faster than the previous two had.
"God, love, you feel so fucking good," Alex grunted, punctuating each word with a hard thrust, flicking your clit along with each thrust. And with that, you shook, your third orgasm washing over you, riding out the intense waves of pleasure. You felt pure euphoria and bliss. You held onto Alex tightly, your legs tightening as your cunt contracted around him, drawing him in, holding him close.
You came down from your orgasm, opening your tightly shut eye, Alex's movements stopping. You untangled your legs and unwrapped your arms from around him, and he pulled out of you, sitting up on his knees, gripping the base of his cock tightly. He was clearly struggling to hold on himself, the sight of you coming undone just enough for him, and the sight could've solely made him come undone.
"Turn around, doll. On all fours," he drawled, motioning for you to turn around. You looked at him, didn't know how much more you could take, thought that you both agreed on three. "A-Alex, I don't know how much more-" you tried to say, but he cut you off.
"You can take it, and you will take it," he said. You hesitantly sat up, turning around. You looked over your shoulder at Alex. He was lining himself up with your entrance; you felt his tip poking inside of you, making you whimper out. "A-Alex."
He smirked and pushed inside you, bottoming out in one swift thrust. His hand soothed down your back, finding its way to your shoulder and he gripped it tightly, starting to thrust almost immediately. You closed your eyes tightly, the feeling already starting to become too good.
You moaned loudly when Alex began to thrust into you hardly, moving his hand from your shoulder to your hair, gripping it. His pace increased gradually, each thrust getting faster and harder. "Yes, fuck, baby, you're so wet for me," Alex groaned, somehow increasing his pace.
"A-Alex ... fuck ... faster," you whimpered, feeling a knot form in the pit of your stomach, your orgasm approaching very, very quickly.
"Givin' orders now, are we?" Alex spat, slowing his pace before slamming back into you hardly.
"I-I'm sorry," you whimpered. Alex moved his hand that was on your hip to your clit, rubbing harshly on it, and his hand that was in your hair moved down to cup your throat, pulling you flat against his chest. Sweat pooled on Alex's chest and forehead. His hand that was on your neck moved around your body to grab your breast, fondling it.
You needed something to hold on to, so your grabbed his arm that was across your front, holding on tightly, your other hand moving to the back of his head, scratching at the fuzz on his nape.
Alex's thrusts got faster and harder, and he rubbed more vigorously on your clit. You were so close, could practically taste your orgasm approaching. Alex thrusted up into you and that was almost enough for you, just one more and you were gone. But before you could, Alex stopped his movements and pulled out of you.
You were confused, had thought that he needed his release just as much as you, so you slowly turned around to face him and you propped yourself up on your elbows. "Alex, w-why'd you stop?" you questioned. He was looking you up and down.
"You was getting way too grabby for me liking," he drawled, crawling back over you. He removed his bandanna from around his neck, grabbing your wrists, bringing them up to the headrest, tying your hands to it with his bandanna. "There, that's better, innit?" he said, sitting up and straddling your hips once again, looking at the sight of you in front of him.
He started to kiss down your body, biting and leaving marks wherever he could. Once he reached your abdomen, he moved down to your heat, placing wet, sloppy kisses to your heat once again. His tongue lapped at your folds, spreading around your arousal. His hands gripped your thighs and you pulled on your restraints, desperate to hold onto something as leverage.
Alex moved down to your entrance, sticking his tongue inside of you, beginning to fuck you with it. One of his hands moved to your abdomen to keep your hips down after you started to grind on his face again, and he started to rub on your clit with his thumb on that hand. He was making you feel so, so good, but then again, when didn't he make you feel amazing?
Your moans got louder as he rubbed on your clit and moved his tongue faster, gripping your thigh tightly with his other hand. Soon he removed his hands from you altogether and moved his tongue back to your folds, pressing down on your clit with it, instead using his fingers to fuck you, moving them in and out of you at an alarmingly fast rate. He never let you get used to a feeling for very long, alternating between pressing down on your clit and moving his fingers quickly to lapping at your folds and slowing his fingers.
As you kept tugging on your restraint, the headrest started to bang against the wall, the noise echoing through the room, filling it along with your moans and whimpers. You instinctively wrapped your legs around Alex's head, drawing him in closer. He chuckled against your skin, send vibrations up your body, tipping you over the edge.
You tugged harshly on your wrists, the waves of pleasure washing over you. You moaned loudly, tightening your legs around Alex's head, crying out his name over and over. "F-fuck, Alex, fuck," you whimpered.
You came down from your high, and you were so sure, positive even, that Alex had had enough and would give you a break, but no, he kept going, moving his fingers and lapping at your folds like nothing had happened. Because to him, nothing did happen, so he just kept on.
He moved his fingers faster, curling and twisting them deep inside of you, making you cry out his name. The feeling of his fingers stroking your walls just right, the feeling of his mouth covering you heat over and over made you feel an indescribable feeling of pleasure. You were absolutely positive that there was a mark on your wrists from Alex's bandanna and were sure that Alex had many various handprints decorating your body which would no doubt last at least a week, maybe even more.
Alex had begun to suck your clit into his mouth, occasionally pressing down on the sensitive bundle of nerves. Alex looked up at you, and your eyes met and he saw just how amazing he was making you feel and he smirked against your skin, and you could feel him do it too. HIs grip on your abdomen had loosened up quite a bit and you started to grind onto his face again, trying get his fingers to sink deeper into you, to get some sort of friction since he ceased all movement of his fingers. Surprisingly, he didn't make you stop, he just let you move your hips freely. allowing you to make yourself feel good on his fingers. Though, in the back of your mind you knew that he wasn't stopping you for a reason, no doubt planning another way to make you come undone for him by his own means, his own rules, and by his own doing.
You were so close, nearly there, just needed to feel him curl his fingers inside of you, which he did while you were moving your hips, one more time. You were just about to let go whenever he stopped, pulling away from your heat, removing his fingers, making you whimper, and he sat up, leaving you barely on the edge, your orgasm so close, but so far away as it began to fade away.
"Wh-what? N-no, no, Alex," you said, your need to let go growing quickly by every passing second, the need to feel him inside you growing as well. "What, doll? What do you need?" Alex asked as he moved over you, his arms keeping him above you.
"I-I need you," you whimpered, Alex's promise of saying that he was going to 'fuck you up' coming true.
"'ow bad do you need me?" he drawled, slowly kissing up your neck, biting down on a spot. You whimpered. "I need you s-so bad, Alex." He chuckled, thinking of something for a moment, quickly giving telling what you needed to do. "You want me, then spit in me mouth," he  said nonchalantly.
You were confused for a moment. You knew that he had a spitting kink, but he never showed any part of it in all the time that you two were together. You took a moment to think about it before you nodded and he opened his mouth and you spat in his mouth. You weren't proud of what you just did, but if it meant that Alex would fuck you, then you didn't care.
"Oh, and one more thing, baby ... you 'ave to promise me that you won't come until I say you can, okay?" Alex said. You nodded, how hard could that be?
He nodded in response before nudging your thighs apart with his hand and you sighed whenever he aligned himself up with your entrance, giving himself a few tugs before pushing inside you, bottoming out in two pushes. His head fell down on your shoulder, reveling in the feeling of your walls contracting around his cock, stretching to accommodate for his size.
Once he regained some sort of control, he pulled almost all the way out of you, slamming back inside you very quickly, starting to set a very, very fast pace. You pulled on your wrists again, hoping that maybe you'd loosened the knot that Alex had tied them in the bandanna with. You wanted your hands free of it, needed to touch him, to hold on to something, only if he would untie you.
His hands were firmly planted in the mattress beside your head, holding him up above you. You closed your eyes tightly, reveling in the way Alex's cock stroked your walls so good, but they quickly opened whenever Alex stopped moving. "Alex?" you asked, searching for his eyes.
"I want you to look at me the entire time, alright?" he said, and you quickly nodded, desperate for him to move again.
Alex started to move again, his eyes never once leaving your own. You tried your best to hold on, trying to fulfill his wish of you not to let go until he said so. But the feeling was getting to be too much for you, the knot forming in your stomach once again. The way he was stroking your oversensitive walls, thrusting into you hardly was enough for you, and you let go, eyes rolling into the back of your head, your walls contracting around Alex's cock, riding out your high.
Your moans filled the room and you came down from your high, opening your eyes. You were sure that Alex wouldn't give you anything else, wouldn't give you what you wanted having done the one thing he said not to do. You were panting heavily now, the feeling too overwhelming, too much for you to handle.
"Done?" he asked, raising his eyebrow at you.
"Yes," you managed to say, avoiding his eyes.
"Good," he said nonchalantly. Alex leaned down to kiss you, it wasn't a deep kiss, but instead it was a soft, slow, and passionate kiss, full of his love and adoration for you. He pulled away and pushed a piece of your hair out of your face, smiling down at you. "You think you can do one more, love?" he asked. You were tired and sore and worn out, having been pushed over the edge several times already and weren't fully sure if you could do one more, even though it was just one. But there was something about the way he asked you, the way he smiled, and you couldn't say no to him, especially with the way he was looking at you right now.
"Y-yeah, I can do one more," you choked out. Alex mumbled something incoherent before starting to move slowly. He knew how sensitive you were now and didn't want to do anything that might cause even the slightest bit of discomfort to you, but still making sure that you felt amazing.
The mood in the room had juristically changed. He was still dominant and had all the control, but he wasn't spitting out demands or teasing you anymore, just focused now on getting the two of you there, wanting you to feel good.
Though he didn't want to cause you discomfort, he did start to increase his pace, not by much, but going faster than before and one of his hands came down in between your bodies to rub light circles in sync with his thrusts on your clit, applying more pressure ever so slightly to it every now and then. He had just restarted his movements and you were already so close to the edge again. It took just one flick of your clit and Alex's cock nudging that spot inside you that had stayed unattended to before and that sent you spiraling.
Your walls contracted around his cock for the last time of the night, drawing him in, triggering his own release. You felt his cock twitch inside of you and you felt his hot release coat your walls as he groaned, the both riding out you highs. You felt pure euphoria and bliss once again as you came down, Alex coming down from his high as well, head falling on your shoulder. He laid on top of you for a few minutes, regaining some of his strength before pulling out of you with a sigh, laying down beside you. You were panting heavily, pulling on your wrists once again. "Alex," you sighed.
He looked at you, saying your name, looking you up and down, starring at your restraints. "Oh, I'll untie you," he said, reaching up and untying your wrists, throwing his scarf on the ground, pulling you close to him even though you were both hot, sweat pooling on Alex's forehead and chest.
"C'mere, me love," he said, holding you tightly. Even though you had come down from your orgasm, you were still panting heavily, trying to breath. "Hey, hey, breath, me love, breath. I've got you," Alex said calmly, rubbing your hair comfortingly.
You both sat there for a minute so that you could catch your breath. once you did catch your breath, you laid your head on Alex's chest. "I love you, Al," you said, looking up at him.
"I love you, too, me love," he said kissing you lovingly. "Are you alright? Did I 'urt you?"
You shook your head. "You could never hurt me, Alex," you said. "But, now I'm really tired and want to sleep, so can we talk in the morning?"
"Yeah, love, we can. Goodnight," Alex responded, pulling the duvet over you two. You told him goodnight and soon fell asleep in his arms, him following not long after you.

The Babysitter
Characters ( Ally Mayfair-Richards x Reader )
Rating (T) Word Count ( 2.9k) Warnings ( None, bad flirting, writing while intoxicated)
“For dinner! I'd love to come home with you for dinner.”
“Well what else would you be coming for?”
“Dessert.”
It was another late night studying on the living room floor of the Mayfair-Richards household. It wasn't uncommon for you to spend a majority of your nights here during the week and sometimes the weekend if you were needed and you usually weren't. Not that you would've minded anyway, your weekends weren't busy—mostly spent either dead asleep or trying to get out of plans you didn't want to be a part of anyway to get more sleep.
But it wasn't everyday that you were able to work for a Senator either, so even if you were busy, you weren't going to tell Ally Mayfair-Richards that. Not that she was a mean boss or anything, she was the Senator for crying out loud. And...okay yes, maybe you idolized the woman a little though it may be because you're studying law but honestly who wouldn't idolize this woman? She went through so much shit getting to this point in her life and career.
And she was hot. She was really hot but you kept it in your pants, but your eyeballs? Different story. You were just grateful that she chose you to watch her son when she was away, especially after you knocked over your entire cup of tea in her living room on the very carpet you were sitting on, and you were just a hot mess.
You thought you blew the whole thing, but the moment she produced the NDA to you a few days later when she called you back for a 'second interview' which included Ozzy this time, you'd been ecstatic and nearly knocked over another fucking cup but Ally was faster than you that time.
The giant TV was playing in front of you across the room but it was just the news channel but the volume was pretty low because Oz was asleep upstairs and you weren't really watching it anyway, you had your airpods in listening to Beyoncé and trying to create a decent scenario for one of the ten theories your professor assigned. It was due the next day so you thought picking the easiest one would work in your favor but it was turning out to be your worst nightmare—and you'd regretted choosing sleep over this, kind of.
You'd been so engrossed in your work, and music, you didn't hear the front door open and shut somewhere behind you or hear Ally quietly talking on the phone, her high heels click clacking on her polished wood floors as she came into the living room. Ally paused slightly at the sight of you and her coffee table, your books and yellow pads scattered everywhere, your head bopping slightly to whatever you were listening to as you scribbled away.
Ally smiled softly, and continued on her way upstairs to check on Ozzy knowing that she was going to find him safe, clean and fast asleep with a full belly. You'd been his nanny for four months now and you were such a blessing for Ally, she'd been reluctant to hire and trust another person with her baby boy but her career was too demanding and Ozzy was only ten. He could stay home alone for a few hours maybe, but not days or even a week or two.
After everything, Ally did have cameras around her home on the outside and she had one directly over the stairs because it overlooked the foyer and parts of the living room from an angle. She didn't want too many camera's inside of her home in case they were hacked but she wanted something at least.
Ozzy's room was dark except for his nightlight by the door and Ally quietly made her way inside, carefully sitting on the edge of the bed and pushing his curls from his face. She was ever thankful that he finally stopped having those horrible nightmares, it meant that she wasn't wasting her money on therapy sessions.
When Ally came back downstairs, you were predictably in the exact same spot you were in and Ally finally did away with her coat, placing it over the spine of the sofa and she stepped out of her heels before coming around and plopping herself down, careful not to knock over your stack of books.
The sudden movement startled you out of your skin and you quickly pulled out your airpods and looked at your boss, “Hey! Sorry, how long have you been home?”
Ally smiled down at you tiredly, practically sinking into the sofa and you could feel her exhaustion rolling off of her in waves, and you couldn't help but sympathize because damn, and you thought you were tired.
“I just got in, I'm sorry I didn't call earlier, things got busier than I expected and then everything went into chaos.”
You smirked when she threw her hands up half heartedly with a roll of her eyes, “Would a glass of wine help?”
“No, but it would definitely be a start if you join me for a glass?” she raised an eyebrow, and as much as you wanted to say yes you've already procrastinated enough and you really didn't need alcohol in your system around her lest you say something you absolutely shouldn't.
“I would but I have to finish this and it's getting late. Do you mind waiting up until my Uber gets here?”
“It's really late, you should just stay the night, (Y/n).” Ally sat up then, waving away your comment, though now she was closer and hovering over you a bit, “I'll take you home tomorrow after breakfast, that sound fair?”
It wouldn't be the first overnight stay but it would definitely be the first time that she'd be home too and you just couldn't say no to that even though you probably should have insisted more that you go home, but you accepted her offer without further debate. You'd gone back to your assignment, minus the airpods this time, and Ally got up to go to the kitchen and you could hear her fixing herself a glass of wine.
Ally set a bottle of water next to you on a coaster before settling back in her spot and finding something to watch on TV, and of course you noticed that she was a hell of a lot closer than she was before.
Your pen had paused on the yellow paper and your eyes glanced over the same sentence three times before your mind processed that you could practically feel the heat from her legs next to your arm through her slacks, and if you leaned just an inch you'd be touching her. You fought the urge to look back over your shoulder, but instead you looked up from beneath your lashes and saw that she was browsing the movie channels at a snail's pace.
Behind you, Ally was sipping her wine in one hand and flipping channels with the remote in the other but her eyes were nowhere on the TV screen. But she noticed the moment your pen stopped moving and your shoulders tensed more than usual, she'd been watching you closely and curiously.
“You okay, honey?”
You turned around to answer her with what you hoped was a calm smile and wished that you hadn't, really. Ally was going to kill you sitting the way she was sitting, her energy screaming big dick and the top three buttons of her shirt were undone and her hair was a little messy. Either she was going to give you a heart attack or your libido would.
“Sweetheart?”
You blinked, coming back to reality so fast you would’ve gotten whiplash, “Uh, yeah...maybe I guess I’m just tired too.” Yeah right.
You chuckled nervously, embarrassed really, and licked your lips again and Ally tracked the movement with rapt attention not that you would've caught it because you were busy being mortified being caught staring like a creep.
“Are you sure? You look flushed, drink some water,” you smiled at Ally, ever the mom.
“I’m not—” not what? Thirsty? Yeah you were but not for some water.
“You’re not what?” Ally pressed, still holding you hostage with her eyes alone.
“Not thirsty for water.”
Ally raised an eyebrow, the corner of her lips twitching and you hate that you noticed, “Oh? Then what would you like to drink if it’s not wine or water?”
Good question. One you didn’t have a good answer to. Not trusting yourself to formulate words into an appropriate sentence, you just nodded and turned back around and grabbed the water she brought you. You were determined to ignore until you were finished with your work—for the sake of your sanity and dignity.
Fuck.
Still watching you, Ally laughed quietly into her wine glass and finally settled on a movie, keeping the volume low as she got comfortable. Deciding to let you off the hook for not answering her question. (This time.)
~~
A few days later...
It was another late night for you but you weren't working for Ally tonight, so you went to the gym instead after studying. You were still wearing your tights and sports bra when you left, only throwing on a jacket because the night air and sweat weren't a great mix.
You didn't have anything at home to eat that wasn't expired or so frozen it came from the ice age...it all went in the trash so all you had left in your fridge was a case of water and cheese sticks. It wasn't surprising though, you spent a majority of your free time at Ally's home and you just ate lunch and dinner there usually. So you went straight to the grocery store after your workout with your trainer.
“Hey (Y/n)!” you looked up and internally groaned, rolled your eyes and threw a whole bitch fit.
You offered Sean a tight near sarcastic smile, “Sean. What is up.”
“Nothin',” he said, leaning against the counter he was standing behind with a cheesy smile, his eyes leering—and it made your skin crawl, “Just working...you?”
“Uh,” you were already over this conversation, “Same, anyway—”
“You still work for that crazy killer lesbian?”
You stopped, pivoting back around slowly to see if he was joking or not, of course it was hard to tell because he was looking at your ass, but the minute he turned around his eyes laser beamed to your chest. Specifically your pebbled nipples and the bars pierced in them. You moved the labels of your jacket to cover them fucking pig.
“Uh, my eyes are up here and two, that 'crazy killer lesbian' is your Senator.”
He shrugged, “I didn't vote for her.”
“I'm...okay, it was nice talking to you but I have things to do.”
“Well, wait,” he moved in front of you, stopping your escape, “That's not what I wanted to talk to you about actually, uh, but listen...do you maybe wanna go to dinner with me this weekend? My treat?”
You raised an eyebrow at him, completely unimpressed with his audacity, “You literally just called my boss a crazy killer lesbian and now you're expecting me to go to dinner with you?” as if, you wanted to add but held yourself in check—barely.
“I'm sorry about that,” Sean only shrugged but he was bashful about it but it only served to irritate you further because it was obvious that he didn't quite mean it and you were mentally slapping yourself for just not ordering that damn pizza.
“Whatever, goodnight Sean.”
you tried to move around him but he shifted, keeping you in place and you knew you could've just turned around, you should've but he would've just followed you, “Well wait, you never answered my question. About dinner?”
“No.”
“Well, wait a minute...why not? The lesbian thing? It was just a joke. You can take one, can’t you?”
“And I'm not laughing, get the fuck outta my way Sean—”
“You—”
“I believe she told you to fuck off.”
Sean's eyes snapped up over your head slightly, and you would've laughed at his stupid face had you not been pivoting around yourself, your eyes meeting a very familiar chin and you looked up, but Ally's eyes weren't on you but instead glaring daggers into Sean. He'd be ten feet under if she got her way with that look. You wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of it. (Maybe another version of it...)
“S-senator?”
“Oh, I'm not the crazy killer lesbian anymore? How disappointing.” when Sean could only stare at her like a fish out of the water, Ally stepped forward—a lot closer to you and you didn't have the strength to move or even look away, “I believe you were told to leave. Oh and if I even hear that you looked at or said anything to (Y/n) incorrectly, you're going to have a lot worse than a harassment complaint from a Senator to deal with.”
You didn't see him leave but you heard the squeaks of his sneaker and in seconds flat you and Ally were alone in the cereal aisle and you had absolutely no idea how to even breathe at the moment, much less process that she just saved you from...whatever that even was.
When Ally was satisfied that Sean was gone, she finally looked down at you—there was still a fire in them that you couldn't place but her brown eyes were softer than they were a few seconds ago, and you felt your shoulders relaxing slightly.
“Are you alright, (Y/n)?”
You cleared your throat, taking a small step back—but you still felt exposed under her unblinking stare though not in the same way you felt with Sean, it was the complete opposite, “Yeah thanks to you, so um thanks...a lot. Your timing is impeccable, but what are you doing here so late? Where's Oz? Is he okay?”
Ally smiled at you, shaking her head disturbing her always perfect hairstyle, “Oz is fine, or at least he will be, he must've ate something today at school and it's not sitting well with his stomach,” Ally rolled her eyes but not at the fact that her son had food poisoning but that he had food poisoning from the school lunch. She could only imagine that other children—reforming school lunches was already on her agenda but now she was seriously considering moving ahead of schedule.
“Oh no, how bad?”
“Not too bad...he'll be okay, I'm just here for medicine to stock up on,” Ally reassured you, her eyes flickering over your shoulder for a second, “What are you doing out so late?” and wearing that? She mentally added, but held her tongue because she knew that it wasn't her place to comment on your attire—not that she was complaining about it, but Ally just didn't like the way Sean was leering at you either. She was a hair away from showing him how she earned her title.
Suddenly aware of how much skin you were showing, and that your jacket fell open again but unlike with Sean you didn't feel the need to really cover yourself (even though you knew that you should've). You appreciated her eyes more than his...and probably anyone else's.
“Oh, I went to the gym and since I don't have any food at home...”
Ally chuckled, “Is this your way of asking for a raise?”
“No! No, no you pay me plenty...I'm just too busy to cook is all and then I'm just too tired to eat sometimes. College life.”
“I was teasing, welcome to adulthood. It doesn't stop,” you laughed along with her but you both knew there was truth behind those words.
“I shouldn't keep you, I know you have things to do.”
“You know, I doubt you're going to get a decent nutrient meal here tonight, especially shopping while you’re hungry...” Ally hummed, seemingly thinking hard about something before opening her mouth to carefully speak those words, “You're more than welcome to come home with me for a late dinner if you have nowhere else to be. I'd be more than happy to feed you.”
Heh. Feed me what? You blinked, mildly surprised with how fast your mind went straight to the gutter and you felt your face heating up faster than a house fire, and you had no doubt in your mind that your boss knew exactly what she was doing to you.
But she didn't, Ally didn't have one clue to what was happening in your mind because her own mind was a pile of scrambled eggs while forcing her eyes to stay above your neck. You were both very much still in public.
And the last thing Ally wanted to do was make either you a cliché, especially with her being a public figure in a male dominant career field, both in politics and her restaurant.
“Unless you had your sights set on cereal?” Ally coughed lightly, suddenly nervous and you realized that you'd been standing there staring at her like a moron this whole time.
“No, I'd love to come home with you,” you said cheerfully, meaning every damn word for different reasons, and you smiled at her, before your eyes widened when realizing how forward you sounded, and suggestive as hell, “For dinner! I'd love to come home with you for dinner.”
“Well what else would you be coming for?”
“Dessert.”
Direct result after two blunts...sorry if it's kinda lame tho lmao I went in thinking I was writing smut and gave up somewhere

Riley shifted on the exam table in Dr. Monaghan’s office. She tried to remember a time she hadn’t been in a doctor’s office weekly. She rubbed the bump, the babies fluttering again, and smiled. It was worth it.
“Any new girl name ideas?” Leo asked from his seat beside her. “I have zero.”
“Me too.” Riley sighed. “Why is it so difficult? Enzo and Niko’s names were so easy!”
“What’s the doc’s name?”
“I’ll ask.” Riley chuckled.
Dr. Monaghan walked in and took a seat near Riley on a wheeled stool. She glanced through a stack of papers and looked up. “Your numbers have been mostly normal the past few days. It’s like whatever was making it high just vanished.”
Leo gripped Riley’s hand. She squeezed back.
“That interview helped,” Riley responded. “I swear, the stress just lifted. Leo’s doing better; Enzo’s great. Babies are moving. Things are settling down.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” Dr. Monaghan smiled. “We’re keeping you on bed rest.”
“What? Why?” Riley whined. “You just said I was good.”
“We can modify it.” Dr. Monaghan explained. “I want you working from home, no more than two hours a day. You can take walks, not exceeding half an hour, nothing too strenuous. Yoga is still fine. If you can be in bed, be in it. 10-12 hours, not including sleeping at night.”
Riley crossed her arms. “Fine.”
Dr. Monaghan was startled. She’d expected more of a fight. She caught Leo and Riley share a look and understood. Nothing else was going wrong if they could help it.
“Keep doing what you’re doing; I’ll see you next week.” Dr. Monaghan stood. “Any questions?”
“What’s your first name?” Riley asked.
“Cassandra.” The doctor gave her a wary look. “Why?”
Riley wasn’t listening. She looked at Leo. “That’s it. It feels like it.”
Leo grinned and nodded. “It does. Cassandra.”
“I’m sorry, did you just name one of your babies after me?” Dr. Monaghan managed.
“Yep. See ya next week!” Riley swung her legs off the table.
————
Riley stood outside the bar with Leo. It was early still and not open. Max would be here in a few hours to get everything set up.
“Are you sure?” Riley asked gently. “We can wait.”
Leo nodded. “I’m sure, baby.”
They hadn’t been near the bar since the day Jin showed up. Leo unlocked the door, and they walked in. Leo shut the door behind them, locking it.
Riley walked slowly to the spot Leo had fallen that day.  She closed her eyes for a moment. She could still hear it, the sound of his body hitting the floor. Riley couldn’t wait until she couldn’t.
Everything looked like it always did. Liam and Drake had called around and had a company come by and clean.
Leo stepped beside her, tugging her into his side. His eyes landed on the glass cabinet with a missing panel. Riley followed his eye line.
“Shit. I thought that got fixed.” Riley whispered. “I can get Max on it.”
“No.” Leo shook his head. “I’m keeping it that way.”
“Why?”
“Not that I need a reminder anytime soon, but it will make me remember that day when I need to. How my baby saved my life, and how short it all is. I don’t want to take anything or anyone for granted, ever.”
“You don’t,” Riley argued. “I don’t ever feel taken for granted.”
Leo pressed his lips to her forehead. “I’m glad, but I feel myself doing it. Not very often. I could be treating you better sometimes.”
“Are you serious?” Riley was floored. “You got shot and apologized for bumping my arm before the paramedics even got here. That’s not even a drop in the fucking ocean. You treat me so well.”
Leo nodded. “I don’t ever want to forget that day, what you did. That’s all.”
Riley nestled her head into his shoulder. “Let’s sit and talk for a while. This is heavy.”
Leo led her to a booth. She sat; first, he slid in beside her.
“Ready for Megan today?” Leo put an arm around her shoulders.
“Starting off super light.” Riley sighed. “I am. It’s going to be uncomfortable, and I hate it. But I need to try to settle things. That baby’s more important.”
“How are they gonna figure that one out?” Leo mused.
Riley shrugged. “It’s where I’d have been if that pregnancy hadn’t been ectopic. I’m happy I didn’t have to figure that out.”
“Me too.” Leo dropped a kiss on her hair. “We’d have come up with a plan that worked, but damn.”
“Right?” Riley tapped a fingernail on the table. “I’m glad they’re doing all that away from here. They need that.”
“Yeah, Liam especially.”
“I know he needs to set up his own life and get his shit together, but between you and Drake, that’s all I hear,” Riley said. “‘Liam especially.’”
“Baby, you know he’s in love with you still.” Leo wondered if she really didn’t know.
“No, he isn’t.” Riley protested. “You were in the car. You heard the talk.”
“Yeah, and he never said he wasn’t,” Leo argued. “Drake and I catch little looks. Liam’s fighting it hard, good for everyone, but it’s there.”
“He won’t be like that forever.” Riley ran her hand through her hair. “I’m tired of talking about him.”
Leo didn’t say Liam probably would be like that forever. She didn’t need to hear it. Liam would behave from now on.
“That’s new,” Leo said.
“I’ll miss him, sure,” Riley explained. “But I want to move on from all this. It doesn’t feel like I can until he’s gone.”
“I got you.” Leo slid out and stood, helping Riley to her feet. “He’s sort of the last puzzle piece. He and Megan. They’ll leave, and we can go forward.”
“Yeah.” Riley laced her fingers with Leo’s as they walked out of the bar. “I’m gonna cry, though. I feel it.”
“Baby, you cried earlier when I told you Drake was making pork for lunch.”
“It’s the pork, Leo,” Riley said. “I helped him come up with that recipe during the engagement tour.” She stopped, her throat constricting. “And he still makes it.”
Leo opened the car door and helped her in. “I love you. You gorgeous woman.”
Leo got in the driver’s seat. “Oh, did Drake talk to you about the land?”
“Ari did. I meant to talk to you about it after Megan today.”
“Drake has blueprints.” Leo grinned. “He and Ari designed a fucking house. For us.”
Riley’s hand flew to her mouth. “They didn’t!”
“You’ll love it.” Leo took her hand. “Do you want to buy the land? I checked it out. It’s a steal, and the guy selling really wants it gone.”
“I do.” Riley grinned; her face fell a moment later. “Can we keep the other house?”
Leo nodded. “It means a lot to me. I don’t want to sell. We can keep up with it. Split time between the houses; you’ll miss the city.”
“That was the first big thing you bought.”
“It was. And I fell in love with you there.” Leo’s lips curved upwards.
“We got married there.” Riley let the tear clouding her vision fall. “I found myself there a few times. Healed. Fell in love. We brought Enzo home from the hospital.”
“Tuesdays and Thursdays, old house. Rest of the week, new house.”
“Deal.” Riley wiped her eyes as Leo started the car.
Coney Island floated out of the speakers.
“I didn’t believe The National really did a Swift song until you played this.” Leo looked behind him as he backed out nod the bar.
“That’s how Spotify got me,” Riley said. “I listen to them, and they put her in my daily mix. I heard too much before I had the chance to change it.”
“Add it to the list.” Leo grinned, merging onto the freeway.
“You better hope you never lose a mutually assured destruction bet.” Riley laughed. “Oh, the things I will say.”
“Hey, the lowest I went was Miley. You’ve brought Taylor in.”
“Really?” Riley cocked an eyebrow. “I started the Rover today, Leo. Do you know what it said?”
“It only talks to me.”
“Not anymore.” Riley settled back in her seat. “It told me not to call him baby. We’re not talking lately.”
“Fuck.”
“You’re just lucky Max was still in bed. He’s got that album memorized. He can feel when someone is listening to it.”
Leo clasped her hand against his chest. “I love your cutthroat ass.”
“I love yours too.” Riley smiled.
————
Megan didn’t really want to have lunch at Drake’s. It was going to be awkward. She promised Liam she would. She had to clear the air with everyone. They all might not like her, but they were his family. Megan had to make an effort.
Megan took the key out of the ignition and stepped out. Liam was beside her before she’d even seen him walk over.
“Are you feeling all right?” Liam shut her open car door and walked beside her.
“I’m fine,” Megan said. “Morning sickness isn’t too bad.”
“Good, that’s good.” Liam held the door for her and followed her in.
Megan felt nervous immediately. Riley was in a recliner, Leo next to her on the couch. Enzo was sitting on his father’s lap. Drake and Ari were in the backyard at the grill; Maxwell was helping Val build with blocks while Luca held Tino.
Riley looked up from her phone. “Hey, Megan.”
Megan nodded. “Hi.”
Leo gave her a nod, and Enzo slid out of his lap to join Val.
Luca and Max exchanged a look.
“Yeah, the kids should get some fresh air.” Max stood. “Come on, Val girl, Enz.”
Luca stood with Tino and followed Max and the children out, both half nodding at Megan as they left.
Riley and Leo exchanged a glance.
“Come on, Megan, have a seat.” Riley patted the chair on the other side of her.
Megan sat down. It was weird seeing these people she used to be close to going out of their way to avoid her.
“I’m going to say something first; then we can get into it,” Riley announced.
Liam sat in the chair across from Megan and Riley; Leo stayed in his spot on the couch.
Megan motioned for Riley to go ahead.
“I’ve tried to put myself in your position, Megan.” Riley began. “I understand it’s your job. But there were so many times you could have let me know something was going on without breaking any rules.”
Leo took Riley’s hand. He knew she was trying to be fair, and he loved her for it.
“I guess I just don’t understand.” Riley finished. “Can you explain it to me?”
Megan cleared her throat. “I can try.” She took a deep breath. “The day I got the pages, the first few chapters, I had to sign the NDA before even knowing who it was.”
“And what?” Riley asked. “Olivia spun your head? You wanted to know more?”
Liam stood. “I’ll get you some water.” He disappeared to the kitchen, happy for something to do.
“The picture she painted, Riley,” Megan said. “You never read it?”
“I did.” Riley fought not to roll her eyes. “It was garbage. The chapter on if she only had a crown was funny. Don’t think it was meant to be.”
“It was super clear who wrote the book.” Megan continued. “I didn’t get her name until a few weeks later. I’d read another chapter by then.”
Riley furrowed her brow. “I’m surprised they went along with it. They’ve lost money now, haven’t they?”
“Yes.” Megan accepted a glass of water from Liam, who sat again. She took a long drink. “The publisher is suing her for breach of contract for the threats and a few other things. I got to tell her she was dropped.”
“That’s what you get for banking on something without knowing what kind of response it'll get. Gossipy shit is never a sure thing.” Riley took a deep breath. “I would have told them not to bother. The editing wasn’t great either. No offense.”
Riley meant offense. Megan didn’t reply.
“When did you meet her?” Riley steered the conversation back.
“About a month later,” Megan said. “That day of the barbecue.”
“I just don’t understand why you didn’t say something.” Riley tried not to sound frustrated. “We were friends; we saw each other almost every day. It was such a shock.”
“Riley-“ Megan hesitated. “I was afraid to tell you.”
“Why?” Riley crossed her arms.
“That was after the meeting, Leo telling us what happened.” Megan looked at her hands. “I didn’t want to be the reason something else happened.”
Leo slid an arm around Riley and pressed his nose against her temple lightly. He didn’t like to think of that day. Despite Olivia, Riley hadn’t gone back to that place. He was just grateful.
“I can understand that.” Riley had to tell the others not to walk on eggshells around her after a while. “You could have told Liam or Leo, anyone. It didn’t have to be me.”
“I know.” Megan conceded, “I’ve run over it in my head. At the time, I didn’t think she came here to harm anyone. I really thought she just wanted to tell her side.”
“Why?” Riley interjected. “There was nothing out there for her to refute.”
“I think she wanted someone to notice how much pain she was in.” Megan felt her stomach twist as she saw Leo’s bandaged shoulder. “I saw it. She tried to hide it. I told you she was lost.”
“I don’t give a tiny fuck.” Riley said. “I told you exactly what would happen. I told you she just wanted to blow up my life. You didn’t listen.”
Megan started to speak.
“No, Megan.” Riley put her hand up. “None of us knew what she’d do. But you gave her an opening; she prowled around here without anyone knowing. We could have handled her over a year ago.”
Everything could have been different. Riley thought miserably. She wouldn’t have had to make impossible decisions or watch her husband get shot. Or worry about the babies and going on bed rest.
Liam stared at her tone. Olivia had fled the country. What was Riley talking about?
Riley squeezed Leo’s hand. “Give us a minute.” She whispered.
Leo squeezed back before letting go. “C’mon, Liam.”
Liam reluctantly got to his feet. “If you need anything,” he addressed both of them.
Riley waved. “We’re fine.” She waited for them to shut the back door before turning back to Megan. “Out with it.”
“What?”
“Whatever is wrong.” Riley urged. “I see it.”
Megan burst into tears. “This is just not how I saw my life going. I thought if I had kids, it’d be with someone who loved me.”
“There’s all different sorts of love. Liam is moving across the country and raising the baby with you. That’s one kind of love.” Riley said gently.
“I saw him, you know.” Megan sniffed. “When he stopped trying.”
“God, Megan.” Riley breathed.
“He changed your ringtone to your wedding song a few weeks before that dinner with Luca. I tried to get him to come back.” Megan said softly. “It didn’t work. Then Olivia.”
“I wish you’d said something,” Riley said, thinking how often she’d repeated that phrase to this woman. Megan hadn’t been like this in New York, afraid to speak up. Riley didn’t know why she was like this now, but she didn’t care. “He’s doing better, but it was awful for a while.”
“He can’t get over you.” Megan sniffed. “You’re this shadow I can’t shake. I’m surprised he doesn’t want to stay here.”
“You put the shadow there, not me.” Riley sighed. “All I want to say is, I’m here. For advice and whatever. If you can get over yourself, I’d like that.”
Riley smiled softly. “Liam is so good to Enzo. I want to be as close to that as I can for your baby. You’ll visit summers. It won’t be the same.”
Megan looked at Riley, stunned.
Riley rubbed her temple. She was tired of being nice. “I’m so happy for you and Liam, and I wish you saw past your insecurities.”
Megan wiped her eyes. Riley had always been kind to her. Even when she yelled. Liam was choosing their family. Or himself. Megan was starting to understand why he was moving. She’d thought Riley hated him; she obviously didn’t.
“I’m sorry, Riley,” Megan said. “If I could change what happened, I would.”
Riley reached for her hand. “We can’t change things. But we can’t let it weigh us down, no letting that woman win. I wish she’d known you were pregnant. That’d have killed her.”
Megan giggled a little. “Why are you talking about her in the past tense?”
“She doesn’t exist to me.” Riley let go of Megan’s hand. “Listen to me; I’m only saying this once.”
Megan’s eyes widened as she nodded.
“Liam still needs someone to watch out for him. Stop sticking your head in the sand when something goes wrong and be there when he needs a friend. Say what he needs to hear when he’s being difficult. I can’t. Leo and Drake won’t always be there the exact moment he needs a shoulder. You’re up. Got it?”
“Yes.” Megan croaked.
“Don’t let him wallow. Don’t let him get too in his head or in his own way. Make him get out there.” Riley blinked back tears. “He needs a push sometimes.”
“I’ll help. I promise.”
Riley needed a hug and not from Megan. “Let’s go check on the food.”
Megan followed her out; Leo turned as Riley walked over. “You okay?”
Riley nodded. “Just needed you.” She wrapped her arms around his torso, and he held her.
“I hate everything,” Riley whispered.
Leo suppressed a snort. “I know, baby. Me too. It’ll get better.”
Drake looked up from the grill a few feet away. “Brooks, pork’s almost done.”
Riley burst into tears. “See?”
Leo nodded and stroked her hair. “Stop making her cry, Drake.”
“I just said the pork was almost done!” Drake shook his head.
———
After lunch, they all sat in the chairs around the fire pit.
Maxwell kept glancing at Megan. He didn’t know how to feel about her yet.
Maxwell looked at Riley. She was asleep on a lounge chair, with her head on Leo’s chest. Leo was rubbing her back, Enzo was curled up against her midsection. No one ever really acknowledged what his blossom had been through before Liam messed up, the season and all that, except Leo. Sometimes Drake.
Maxwell moved his gaze at Liam, who was staring into the fire. He was happy for Liam. Liam was getting the child he always wanted. Not the family. Maxwell couldn’t help but still be mad at him.
Max put his hand in his pocket, feeling the rings. Max bought two thin tungsten bands for Luca and himself. They were silver with a bright blue line of sapphires. Max had matching wedding bands, too.
Maxwell just had to wait for the right moment. It wouldn’t be today. Luca squeezed his hand, and Maxwell brought Luca’s hand to his lips.
Drake was half listening to Ari and Megan’s conversation. They were talking about some restaurant in New York. Drake would be civil to Megan, for everyone’s sake. That was it. He knew it wasn’t Megan’s fault, no more than Leo’s shooting was Liam’s fault. It was the lying for a year. Drake wouldn’t get over that, the same way he couldn’t get over Liam lying to everyone for a year and hurting his best friend.
Liam spoke up as Megan and Ari’s conversation stalled. “I just accepted an employment offer; I have to move in just over a week.”
“Teaching again?” Ari asked.
“No.” Liam gave her a small smile. “It’s at the United Nations, a consultant.”
Leo gently kissed Riley’s forehead. “Baby.”
Riley stirred. “Hmm?”
“Liam’s leaving in a week. Do you still want to have the dinner?”
“Yes.” Riley sat up slowly, Enzo moving off her lap. “A week?”
Liam nodded. “Megan flies out in three days.”
Riley blinked a few times. “I didn’t realize it was so soon.”
“I promised I’d stay until Olivia was sorted,” Liam said quietly. “It seems to be.”
Riley shrugged. “It is, as much as it can be.”
Liam stood, Megan, stood with him. “I’ll drive Megan back. I need to get my car from the bar.”
Megan clapped her hands together. “That’s my cue.” She looked around at everyone. “I am really grateful you all were so nice to me today. I set up a schedule with Riley; we’ll FaceTime.”
Megan took a deep, shuddering breath. “I am so sorry about everything. I wish I could do something or say something that showed how sorry I was.” She looked at Leo. “Especially to you and Riley.”
Leo nodded. “No one knew she’d shoot me. Don’t take it on. Focus on that baby and we’ll see you in the summer, Meg.”
A smile ghosted Riley’s lips. Leo was doing the name for Megan’s benefit. Not because he wanted to.
Megan’s eyes watered. “This is it, I guess.”
Max and Luca stood and patted her on the back. Leo and Drake shook her hand, and Riley hugged her quickly, followed by Ari.
“I’m here, Megan,” Riley said. “Remember that, okay?”
Megan nodded, Liam, smiling gratefully on their way out.
They all waited until they heard the car back down the driveway. The mood seemed to lift.
“The summers won’t be that awkward, will they?” Drake finally said.
“No,” Riley said as she settled into the chair with Leo. “We have a lot of time to talk and find a new sort of relationship before then.”
“What did you guys talk about while me and Liam were outside?” Leo said as Enzo climbed back in Riley’s lap.
“Megan’s having a rough time,” Riley said. “She’s pregnant, and he doesn’t romantically love her. They don’t have that kind of relationship.”
Leo nodded. “They’ll have to work on that too.”
“Plus, she says she’s in my shadow. I shut it down.”
Drake huffed. “Knew it.”
Luca spoke up. “Are you sure it’s safe? Olivia is gone?”
“Cartel security is still here for a few days. The cops say she’s gone deep underneath the radar.” Riley said. “She’s not making an appearance anytime soon.”
Luca studied her. Riley’s eyes were steely. He needed to speak to her without Maxwell around.
——-
Liam drove toward Silver Lake, Megan silent beside him.
“Do you remember what you said about Wuthering Heights the night we met?” Liam asked.
Megan thought a moment. “How Heathcliff sucked, and you should either be with someone when you can or let them go?”
“Yes.” Liam hesitated. “I don’t want you unhappy because I can’t return your feelings. We’ll have our personal lives and our family life. It will be tricky; I think we can work it out.” Liam wasn’t planning on dating, but he was sure Megan would eventually.
Megan nodded slowly. She wasn’t dating for a long time. She had held out hope that maybe Liam would want to give it another shot, but it wasn’t fair. Not to her and not to their child.
“I’ll get there,” Megan said. “What about you?”
“Me?” Liam glanced at her quickly.
“You’re still Heathcliff,” Megan said. “But instead of staying and making yourself miserable, you’re leaving. You know you’ll eventually make her miserable too. You’re finally self-aware enough to see it.”
“I’m not sure what you mean.”
“You know.” Megan glanced at him. “I get it; I do. You thought you’d have her forever. You built a life around her. She moved, and you did it again. She had children and married Leo, and you’re still doing it.”
Liam inhaled sharply. “It’s not-“
“It isn’t totally your fault.” Megan continued. “It’s like being told there’s no such thing as ice cream, then one day you have it. Riley grew up knowing it was there; she’s had a few flavors, it’s why she was able to move on. She knew when a flavor wasn’t for her. You’ve only had one flavor that you really loved, and you’re convinced all the others won’t be as good. I hope you get there. You deserve it.”
Liam nodded tightly. “I did love you. I do, in a different way. It isn’t the way you want.”
“I know.” Megan glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. His jaw was set. “It’s okay.”
———
Riley stepped out of the bathroom in the guest house. She almost bumped into Luca.
“Luc!” She put a hand over her heart. “You scared me.”
“I’m sorry.” Luca waited until she got back in bed. Leo and Drake were outside with the kids; Maxwell was opening the bar. It was as good a time as any.
“Olivia.” Luca began.
“Yes?” Riley sank back into the pillows.
“I see you and Ari exchanging looks. What happened?”
Riley knew she wasn’t supposed to tell. But it was Luca. “Not a word to Max or Liam?”
Luca nodded and sat at the edge of the bed. He saw Riley’s fingers tremble slightly and took her hand.
“She called Ari’s uncle to get out of the states,” Riley whispered. “But something was already in motion, by Ari. That I signed off on.”
“So when you said she’s deep under-“
“They’ll never find her,” Riley confirmed. “It happened just before the cop showed up.”
Luca was silent, thinking. Riley watched him. “Luca?”
“I did some not great things as a teen. I told you about juvie.” Luca said. “At least you had good intentions.”
Riley squeezed his hand. “You don’t think I’m a bad person? I don’t feel bad. Not even a little. I was just so tired of being scared.”
“Not ever.” Luca scooted and tightened his arms around her in a hug. “You did what you were forced to.”
“Luca, you’re one of the best people I know,” Riley said into his chest. “I’m so glad you met Max.”
“I am too.” Luca leaned back. “He’s my favorite person. He introduced me to all of you. It’s everything I ever wanted.”
“You know how much we all love you, right?” Riley swiped a finger under her eye.
“I do.” Luca let a grin cross his features. “That first dinner, you were so kind.”
“You’re just as kind, Luc.”
“I want to ask Max to marry me,” Luca said suddenly. “I kind of have an idea.”
Riley clapped a hand over her mouth. Were these two any more meant to be? “I’m so happy for you!”
Luca grinned. “I’ve been waiting for the right moment. Not today. But soon.”
“Are you going to get married right away, or will the babies be here?”
“Max is going to need some serious planning time.” Luca laughed. “I think it’s safe to say the babies will be here. All of them.”

Level Up, Chapter Eleven (Branjie) - Holtzmanns
Tumblr media
“I don’t think I could come up with anything negative about you.”
Brooke’s eyes are sincere as she says it, and Vanessa’s heart starts to beat just a little bit faster. Vanessa’s a person who’s always on the go, not one to slow down if she doesn’t have to but Brooke has the ability to make her world pause for just a second. Brooke changes Vanessa’s focus from what’s in front of her to solely her, and Vanessa almost wishes she could keep it there forever.
It’s never that hard for Vanessa to come up with words to reply with, especially not towards Brooke, but her brain feels like it has shuddered to a stop, pressing on the brakes because the small smile on Brooke’s face is more important to focus on. She could say something stupid, something funny, maybe return the sentiment but she doesn’t get a chance to decide on what to do before Yvie lets out a scoff.
“Except for your dislike of Chicken Little. That’s a negative if I’ve ever seen one.”
AN: Hi, I'm still alive, I promise. Popping back into this lovely fic nearly eight months later (a new job, a new apartment, a new city, and a new cat later too) and I love it just as much as I did in January. Eight months is good for plot to marinate and develop and I'm excited to get back to writing this fic again. If you're still around for this journey, thank you and know I'm so grateful for it. Please do tell me your thoughts if you read! Thank you writ for betaing ily <3
“So you have that interview with Glamour, I’ll set it up for some time this week, and Teen Vogue wants to do something on their Youtube channel. Who knew that was a thing? I’m working on Adidas’ rep to finagle a sponsorship outta them, and Under Armour on the backburner just in case-”
Vanessa bursts through the doors of the gym while Detox continues talking in her ear, not at all apologetic about the way that she has to interrupt her as she ambles towards Brooke’s office. “Just reached the gym. We’ll have to continue this later, ‘cause training waits for no one, right?”
“I see exactly what you’re doing, but I’m not mad at it. Go work on building those boxing skills that’ll keep lining your pockets for years. Toodles!”
Vanessa lets out a snort when Detox hangs up the phone. “Toodles? Who the hell says that?”
“Detox?” Brooke looks up from her book, an amused smile on her face. “I know that trick.”
“What trick?” Vanessa squints her eyes as she sits down, trying to read the cover of Brooke’s paperback. “Are you reading Chicken Soup for the Soul? ”
Brooke waves a hand. “Doesn’t matter. And the trick of dipping out of Detox’s phone calls. Why else would you get to the gym so early?”
“Oh, come on. I’m early sometimes. Occasionally,” Vanessa grins, and Brooke doesn’t buy it in the least from the way she raises an eyebrow. “Okay, maybe not. I like Detox, I really do, don’t get me wrong. She’s hysterical and good at her job, real good at it, but damn.”
“Detox works hard,” Brooke nods, understanding in her eyes. “It’s a lot to handle sometimes.”
“She cranks up the exposure by a million and targets it in specific places and it works, ‘cause I have a lot of followers and deals now but…”
“But what?”
Brooke leans forward, pushing her book to the side as she looks earnestly at Vanessa. It’s striking, sometimes, how Brooke gives her full attention. How much she cares sometimes.
It’s nice.
“It feels real wild, y’know? Like all I did was become a meme, and now my face is going to be in a Spotify commercial. How does that jump happen?” Vanessa shifts in her chair, letting out a sigh. “It’s only been a few weeks.”
It’s as if Vanessa is riding in a car that’s only getting faster and faster, not quite in control of the steering wheel or knowing when she’s going to be able to stop. Sure, the ride is fun, but it also feels like she’s driving without a license, as if she’s skipped the learner’s permit stage and hit the highway instead.
“She wants to capitalize on it as much as possible. Keep you in the spotlight even after the next big meme rolls around,” Brooke shrugs, before pausing for a second, a look of concern in her eyes. “It’s not too much, is it? I can always talk to Detox with you if you feel like it’s overwhelming-”
“Nah, I’ll survive,” Vanessa shrugs, giving her best reassuring smile to Brooke. “Lush sent me some free shit the other day. I like goodie bags.”
Brooke snorts. “Fair enough. Bath bombs are a reason to keep going.”
“Want some? I got enough for a month's worth of spa days.” Vanessa makes a mental note to bring some of the freebies for Brooke on their next practice. She’s earned half of everything, at least.
“You have any of the sakura ones?” Brooke is tentative with her question, and Vanessa nods enthusiastically.
“You’re getting all of ‘em.”
“Now, hold on a second-”
“It’s six. Don’t we have practice to start?” Vanessa’s up and out of the office before Brooke can protest any further. “I’m gonna go change.”
Practice is nice. Practice feels familiar amongst all the new chaos in Vanessa’s life. It lets her turn her brain off and get away from the people that recognize her out in public, the way her Instagram is now solely for sponsored posts. The way she feels like a caricature of herself, almost, because others have an opinion of who she is based on a ten second video clip.
But practice isn’t like that. In the gym, Brooke is the same as ever, pushing and pushing her until sweat is drenching her back and her mind is spinning and she feels more alive than she ever has. When Brooke throws moves at Vanessa that she has to work in overdrive to block and counter with some of her own, it’s familiar. Even though she’s tired and gasping for breath, it’s what she knows how to do, and in an environment that isn’t unsettling or foreign.
The best part about it? Vanessa can still feel herself learning. Growing. Stepping up to the challenges that Brooke throws at her. Sure, she’s not aching to get back into the competition ring anytime soon, but the approving smiles from Brooke when she gets in a good hit or when she avoids a shot that would previously knock her on the ground gives her a thrill every time.
The end of practice leaves Vanessa with a new sense of longing that’s only been present the last few weeks, since this whole meme mess has started. Leaving the gym is hard, because it means Vanessa has to go outside again, pull her hat down when passerby on the sidewalk give her a second look. She has to unlock her phone and pretend to be busy, but then she’s faced with comments pouring in on every social media account that she opens. She can text one of her friends but it’s hard to continue a conversation, really, after it starts with a rousing Miss Vanjie, no matter how much in jest.
Being outside the gym means that she’s reminded of her new loss of normalcy.
She takes her time switching back into her sweats after she showers, dragging her feet as she leaves the change room with her gym bag slung over her shoulder. When she squints her eyes she can see Brooke at the far end of the gym, teetering on a stool as she repositions one of the crooked banners. Brooke turns around almost as if she can tell Vanessa is there, a good natured smile and an easy wave following immediately.
“See you tomorrow.”
“Need any help?” Vanessa’s stalling a bit by asking, but maybe Brooke really could use a hand with the banners, or at least an extra set of eyes to make sure that they’re nice and straight.
She’s just helpful, that’s all.
Brooke, to her credit, doesn’t call Vanessa out for it as she squints, admiring her handiwork. “I think they’re as aligned as they’re ever going to be. I’m going to get ready to leave for the night, too.”
“Oh,” Vanessa doesn’t mean to sound a little disappointed as Brooke jumps off the stool, fiddling with the jacket that’s slung across her arm. “Already?”
“It’s almost eight thirty,” Brooke points out, padding past Vanessa towards her office door and grabbing her coat off of the hook. “You’re not tired and ready to go home yet?”
“I just…”
Vanessa trails off, looking down at the ground. She’s not sure what to say, really. All that’s waiting for her is her apartment, but she can’t mindlessly scroll Twitter or Instagram before bed without seeing her face again. She needs to reply to her friends’ texts, but the notifications are piling up on top of one another like a mountain that she’s not really sure how she’s going to climb.
Vanessa just wants to avoid it all.
Brooke pauses, and each second that passes makes Vanessa’s heart constrict because maybe she should just try to explain, but she doesn’t know how to and it feels like too much-
“C’mon. My roommate and I are having a late dinner and rewatching Chicken Little. Are you in for a nacho night?”
Brooke’s looking at her expectantly and Vanessa wants to say yes, but what pops out of her mouth is what’s pressing on her even more. “Did you say rewatching Chicken Little?”
“It’s a good movie!” Brooke’s defensiveness makes Vanessa crack a smile despite how restless she feels, how much she’s fidgeting while standing in place. “Come over and you’ll see.”
“Y’know, we haven’t talked about movies before, but this recommendation is making me question what your taste is like,” Vanessa lets out a giggle, when Brooke’s mock offense takes over her face as she puts a hand to her heart.
“The disrespect. You’re not getting nachos with those kinds of statements,” Brooke grabs Vanessa’s gym bag, slinging it over her shoulder as she holds the door open. “Now c’mon.”
Brooke’s apartment is not what Vanessa expects - there are colours and tapestries lining the walls and even one on the ceiling, and she’s pretty sure she sees a bong on top of the refrigerator. It’s pretty, though, with the art splashed across every free surface and the shelves filled with books upon books, piles of even more on the actual floor. Vanessa has to resist the urge to go and sit down on the wicker chair in front of the television that’s suspended from the ceiling.
“Yvie’s the one behind the decor.” Brooke has a knowing smile on her face and Vanessa can feel her cheeks heat up, from how easily Brooke can read her mind. “Moved in a few years ago after she broke up with a long term partner. Never really got around to adding things of my own to the walls.”
Vanessa snickers before she can even get her joke out properly. “What would you add? A Chicken Little poster?”
Brooke, for her part, doesn’t miss a beat. “Nah. A poster of your meme.”
“Wow-”
“I know we were thinking nachos, but picture this. Chicken nuggets while we watch Chicken Little.” A girl with bright green hair pops her head out from behind a door, waving at the two of them.
Vanessa waves back, her eyebrows lifting higher and higher on her forehead when she realizes how tall the girl is as she walks closer. Even Brooke has to look up at her which is a strange sight on its own, considering how much Brooke towers over Vanessa.
Then again, Vanessa’s used to being the short one.
“Vanessa here is doubting the movie’s genius,” Brooke raises an eyebrow, and the girl lets out a fake gasp.
“Um, not a movie. Chicken Little is a film. An artistic masterpiece.”
“Are you two the presidents of the Chicken Little fan club?” Vanessa asks, as Brooke sticks her tongue out at her.
“Yes. And no, you can’t join.”
It’s interesting how Brooke’s work demeanor has dropped now that she’s in her own apartment, her normally squared shoulders a little more relaxed. It reminds Vanessa of when they went roller skating, seeing how much fun Brooke had while pulling her around the rink.
Vanessa wants to see more of it.
Brooke points at her roommate as the girl sticks out a hand. “Ness, this is Yvie. Yvie, Vanessa. I’m coaching her.”
“You’re introducing her as if I haven’t heard you talk about her every single day for the last however many months,” Yvie drawls and Brooke’s sputter is immediate, making Vanessa’s breath hitch a little in her throat.
Brooke talks about her?
Yvie pats Brooke on the back as if she’s choking on her water rather than on some words, sticking her other hand out for Vanessa to shake. “You’re Brooke’s favourite student. Also her only student, technically, but still a favourite nonetheless.”
Brooke’s cheeks are bright pink and Vanessa can’t deny that the sight is adorable, seeing her flustered for once. Still. Brooke probably recaps their training sessions and nothing more.
“As long as it’s mostly positive,” Vanessa shrugs, and the way Brooke emphatically nods makes her feel better than she wants to admit.
The platter of chicken nuggets that Yvie places on the coffee table with a flourish is impressive, to say the least. There’s a little bowl of ketchup on the side, along with sweet and sour sauce and something that looks to be...ranch?
Whatever it is, Vanessa’s nose wrinkles at the sight. “Which one of you eats ranch with chicken nuggets? Is that legal?”
Yvie’s cackle and Brooke’s flushed cheeks tell Vanessa all she needs to know as she plops down beside Brooke on the couch, nudging her side. “Really?”
“The flavour combination is great!” Brooke mutters, grabbing a chicken nugget and dipping it in the ranch for posterity, holding it up close to Vanessa’s face. “Try it.”
Vanessa scooches herself towards the edge of the couch, away from the chicken nugget and the ranch that’s slowly dripping down like a melting ice cream. “Absolutely not.”
“It’s delicious-”
“It’s cursed-”
“More for me, then,” Brooke tosses the chicken nugget into her mouth, and Vanessa’s not sure, really, how she’s handling the flavours together without puking. “You’re missing out.”
“Very happy to miss out on that, thank you very much. I’ll take the ketchup.”
It turns out that Chicken Little isn’t so bad with Yvie and Brooke peppering in commentary as they watch, and Vanessa finds herself getting swept into the plot, as ridiculous as it is. The glass of cider that Yvie’s brought for each of them is making Vanessa feel a little more relaxed, her shoulders not as stiff anymore as she leans against the back of the couch. It’s fun to watch Brooke’s face, really, and the way she lights up while quoting the movie as it plays.
Vanessa makes a mental note to invite Brooke over to watch more movies. Better movies. Expand her palate. Chicken Little cannot be at the top of Brooke’s movie pyramid, not when there are better choices available, like Pretty Woman. Sure, Vanessa’s not exactly a film connoisseur herself, but still. Anything beats Chicken Little, right?
Maybe it’s just the cider settling in, maybe it’s the full stomach of chicken nuggets, but...it’s nice. Comfortable. Vanessa pulls her feet up behind her on the couch before grabbing a throw pillow to hug on her lap, and really, she could fall asleep right where she’s sitting, even to the dulcet tones of the main chicken character screaming about an alien invasion. Brooke looks over as Vanessa settles herself more into the couch, her expression unreadable but then she reaches over the back of the couch, grabbing the throw blanket behind them.
“Wanna share? It’s kinda cold.”
It’s not cold and Vanessa knows it, she knows that Brooke does too, but Brooke’s face is soft and tentative and adorable and sharing a blanket with her would make the couch situation even more cozy.
Plus, she can cuddle with Brooke, because Brooke is tall and thus is a tall, comfortable cushion to lean against.
Brooke throws the blanket across both of them and Vanessa scoots closer to her so that their laps are covered, the fabric fuzzy and warm. The side of Vanessa’s upper thigh leans against Brooke’s and she’s not sure why she’s so hyper aware of the fact, or why Brooke’s arm across the back of the couch makes her want to snuggle in even closer.
It’s just Brooke, after all. Brooke, who’s seen her when she’s all sweaty and about to collapse on the gym floor. Brooke, who had been there at her worst after the last tournament and still wants to coach her and spend time with her. Brooke, whose secret love for Twilight will never fail to make Vanessa laugh.
If it’s just Brooke, then why is Vanessa’s heart taking flight in her chest when Brooke starts to absentmindedly trace patterns on her palm? She doesn’t know why Brooke’s touch is lighting up a pattern of sparks on her skin either, or why Brooke’s side is so comfortable to lean against. Why Vanessa almost wishes that the movie could go on forever, so that she can stay warm and safe under Brooke’s arm that’s now draped across her shoulders.
Maybe Vanessa doesn’t need answers for all of those questions, not yet, not if finding out the answers would mean disrupting the delicate balance that hangs in the air between them. Brooke shuffles a little bit and when Vanessa’s head ends up against her chest, she can feel the way Brooke’s heart is beating, surely faster than any heart should. It’s a contrast from how seemingly relaxed the rest of Brooke’s body is, how her arms around Vanessa aren’t tense, restricting, but rather grounding, pulling her down.
Leaning back against Brooke is warm, familiar. It’s a feeling of home in a situation so novel, so different from how they usually are, like pulling on a sweater that Vanessa’s not sure how she’s ever lived without. Maybe, just maybe, Vanessa doesn’t ever have to take it off.
Vanessa doesn’t realize that the credits start rolling on the screen until Yvie rolls off of the lilac armchair, reaching for the remote on the coffee table. She lets out a yawn, stretching her arms up high before shutting off the TV. “I, for one, am exhausted. And as fun as this was, it’s my bedtime.”
Brooke snickers, and Vanessa can feel the way her chest reverberates underneath her. “You and I both know you’re about to go Facetime Scarlet.”
“That’s what bedtime means,” Yvie wiggles her eyebrows, and Brooke’s noise of disgust is immediate.
“Horrifying. You two better keep it down this time. My ears still haven’t recovered from overhearing you both last week,” Brooke shudders as Yvie cackles, shutting the door to her bedroom with a click.
Vanessa turns in Brooke’s grip, shooting a questioning look. Surely Yvie can’t be louder than the average person on Facetime. “Overhearing what?”
Brooke makes a face, the haunted look in her eyes almost comedic from the way that she sighs. “Let me put it this way. Yvie and her girlfriend are in a long distance relationship, which is hard on them for a multitude of reasons. One of them being their libidos.”
“Their libidos…” Vanessa trails off, her face falling when she realizes what Brooke means. “Oh no. Not that. Tell me not that.”
“Exactly that. They’re quieter over Facetime than they are when Scarlet visits, at least. That’s a blessing.”
Vanessa shudders. Sure, she’s not exactly quiet in bed either, but the thought of people on the other side of the wall being able to hear everything is horrifying, especially because of the fact that she lives with Alexis. Her sister does not need to know details about her sex life, that’s for sure.
Still, Vanessa wonders how loud Yvie must be. “How do they even make so much noise with phone sex, anyway? Yodel?”
“Mating calls that would fit in perfectly in a National Geographic documentary,” Brooke lets out a snicker, her hand clapping over her mouth when Yvie lets out an ‘I heard that!’ from behind her bedroom door. “Still, glad I’m not about to suffer through overhearing it alone. You’ve saved my evening.”
Vanessa snorts, pulling back from Brooke’s embrace to face her, leaning against the back of the couch. “Glad to be of service.”
Brooke is softness and kindness and contentment all at once, and the easy smile on her face is one that Vanessa feels so lucky to see the longer and longer that she knows her. It’s moments like these that Vanessa wants to hold on to forever - when Brooke’s guard is down, when her posture is relaxed and she’s looking over with eyes that Vanessa could drown in. She wants to package up this version of Brooke that isn’t tethered by reminders of her past, or with upholding a legacy that defines her whether she likes it or not. At times like this, Brooke isn’t a boxer with her father’s last name, or Vanessa’s coach responsible for facilitating her success. She’s just Brooke, a girl whose gaze is so mesmerizing that makes Vanessa’s breathing hitch in her throat without even realizing it.
Brooke holds out a hand and it’s almost second nature for Vanessa to link her fingers with hers, their hands fitting together in a way that doesn’t make sense, not when Vanessa’s hands are so much smaller. But Brooke’s grip is an anchor that keeps her from floating away, one that centers her and lets her focus on the upward curve of Brooke’s lips, the softness of her eyes when she smiles.
Except then Brooke’s brow is furrowing, a hint of concern in her eyes that Vanessa wants to brush away for her. “You okay? You’re quieter than usual.”
Vanessa can feel her face heating up as she stutters, pulling her eyes away from Brooke’s face to focus on the stitching along the couch cushions. “I’m fine. I...nothing.”
She can’t exactly go out and tell Brooke, someone who’s a coach and also a friend for that matter, that she’s just a little bit mesmerized by her face. Not something that’s likely to go over well.
Vanessa’s past relationships have been nothing short of peacocking, making herself known to those she’s had an interest in because they’d inevitably chase her right back. She knows her worth, knows how to go after what she wants, but…
What does she even want, now?
She doesn’t want Brooke, she can’t, not when Brooke is her coach and someone who’s becoming more and more important towards every aspect of her life, someone who she texts when she wakes up in the morning and who she’s messaging as she’s falling asleep.
Brooke’s not the type of person that Vanessa can parade around and go on a few dates with while drinking the cheapest wine on the menu for shits and giggles. She’s not someone that Vanessa can let go of easily, the way she’s had to with previous relationships that didn’t work out. Brooke is different from them.
She’s not disposable, not someone that Vanessa wants to let go of from her life. She isn’t someone that Vanessa can let go of at this point, because the thought of not seeing her amused expressions in the gym or the pride on her face while they’re training is too much to deal with. Vanessa’s only beginning to read through Brooke’s pages to learn more about her, and finding out little details that make her want to melt and pull Brooke just a little closer to her heart.
Brooke is too important.
Sure, Vanessa’s breath hitches in her chest whenever Brooke pulls her closer, and maybe Brooke’s smile is enough to drown out any background noise buzzing around them, but Vanessa also knows that she falls hard. And fast. She’s impulsive, following what her heart tells her to do and most of the time, she can deal with the consequences because she knows she’ll be able to get back up again.
But if this is a miscalculation? If saying something means that they’ll end up in pieces that neither of them will be able to put back together?
It’s too big of a risk. At least, for now.
Vanessa can’t be the one to take the jump off the cliff, not yet.
So she smiles, puts on the most reassuring expression that she can, hoping that it’s enough to soothe the concern that splays itself across Brooke’s features. “Really, I am. Just thinking about all the press shenanigans that Detox has lined up for me tomorrow.”
It’s enough for Brooke’s features to relax just a little bit, the smile on her face almost nostalgic. “I’m glad it’s you now, and not me, on Detox’s receiving end. She’s ruthless in the best way.”
“That’s one way to put it.”
There’s a sinking feeling in Vanessa’s chest by going for the cop out, but...she has no other choice. It’s not the way she normally handles situations like this, a fact made clear by how much she has to push down the butterflies in her stomach, and hide them behind a door so that they don’t escape and ruin stakes that feel too high, too much of a risk.
Still, Vanessa’s a bit of a sucker for punishment, and so when Brooke pulls her closer into a hug, it’s as easy as breathing to snuggle into her and rest her head against her chest, because Brooke’s arms are warm and safe and manage to slow her thinking down just a bit.
Part of Vanessa feels like she can handle it and hold herself back from doing anything stupid, if only to not mess everything up. She can be this close to Brooke and not have her chest split in two and maybe it’s a blessing, and something that she has to hold on to. Except that by leaning against Brooke, she can feel how fast Brooke’s heart is beating, threatening to escape from her chest before she can possibly stop it. It’s a contrast from the gentle way that Brooke’s fingers run through her hair, betraying the calmness on the outside that she’s trying so hard to convey.
Maybe Vanessa’s not the only one holding back. Maybe Brooke also feels it, maybe she’s also teetering on the bridge that Vanessa’s trying her best not to lose her footing on, and the thought gives Vanessa pause for a second, because maybe the risk is one they can manage, something they can work with...
No. No.
They can’t.
Not if it would lead to everything falling to pieces around them, not if it would mean no more training and no more Brooke in general. Because that’s how relationships always seem to end, don’t they?
As much as Vanessa has always wanted the romantic movie ending and a kiss in the rain, it hasn’t happened to her yet, much to her teenage self’s disappointment. There’s too much on the line to see if Brooke will be the one to veer her onto a different path and change the outcome.
So, Vanessa has to be happy with what she’s getting now, this friendship with Brooke and the coaching and accept it for all that it’s worth. Because Brooke’s important, maybe the most important person in Vanessa’s life and she has to take what she gets.
She’s lucky enough to have it in the first place, after all.

Synopsis:  A freak end of the world incident leads to meeting your two best friends, Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff.  While your friendship with the two Avengers is anything but conventional, they are your all-time favorite people.  When you find out that Clint and Natasha want to start a family but have exhausted all their options, you realize your powerset might allow you to give them what they want.  Having your best friends’ baby might seem like a good idea on paper, but when you are as close as you, Clint, and Natasha are, will doing something so intimate mean feelings get a little mixed up?
Tumblr media
Chapter 2
“Clint and I just had sex!”   You hadn’t meant to blurt the words out like that and they had almost definitely signed your death warrant, but they’d burst out of you out of your control.  Things had gotten out of control, but in that good way, where your adrenaline had been up and with the alcohol and the way your powers worked, when he’d suggested you both go to the public restroom, you couldn’t think of anything you wanted to do more than that.
Now that you could see that Natasha and Clint were in a relationship, the guilt about being the one Clint had cheated with had made you spill immediately.  Even if it did mean the Black Widow would gut you like a fish.
Natasha Romanoff looked back at you with her head tilted to the side.  “Oh, dorogáya,” she soothed, before turning her attention back to the controls of the jet and taking flight again hovering up away from the bar she’d picked you up from before shooting off away from the city.  She took a moment to smack Clint on the back of the head in between flicking different switches.
“Ow, Nat,” he complained, rubbing the back of his head.  “What was that for?”
“You can’t do that,” she scolded. “You need to tell them what your deal is before you seduce them.”
“Seduce them? Me?”  Clint argued.  “Who am I seducing?  Shit just happened.”
“You know what I mean, durak.  You can’t just sleep with people and not tell them you’ve got a girlfriend,” Natasha snarked.  She tilted her head back and raised her voice so you could hear her better over the jet engines.  “Clint and I are in an open relationship.  I’m sorry he didn’t tell you that first.  He’s an idiot.  But you didn’t cheat on anyone.  I just hope he didn’t lead you on.”
“No,” you assured her.  “I knew it was casual.  But … I wouldn’t have… if you two…”
“It’s fine,” she assured you.  “I promise.  Have as much sex with Clint as you like.  I don't care.”
“Gee, thanks, Nat,” Clint snarked.
“Well you won’t be getting any from me if you’re gonna be an idiot,” Natasha said.  “Might as well see who else is offering.”
“Nat…” Clint whined.
You relaxed back in your jump seat while they argued in that loving way people who were completely comfortable with each other do, glad that for once your libido and need for complete honesty hadn’t gotten you in trouble.  The last thing in the world you wanted was to piss off any of the avengers because you weren’t thinking with your brain.
“It's gonna be a bit of a flight, so just relax and get some sleep if you can,” Natasha called back to you.
You already knew you weren’t going to be able to sleep.  You were running on pure adrenaline now and the jump seat was far from cozy.  You did close your eyes and listen to the engine as Natasha guided the jet back to New York.  Things were about to change for you, you knew that.  Even if the Avengers deemed your powers to be useless to them, things weren’t going to be the same now.  You couldn’t go through life after seeing the end of the world come so close and pretend like you weren’t gifted with something special.  You had to find some way to use it.
By the time the Quinjet touched down at the Avengers Compound you had been up for well over a full day and you were exhausted.  It was that level of exhaustion that went right to the bone.  Each turn of your head caused your vision to go blurry as your brain tried to catch up with what it was processing.  Each time you spoke you found it difficult to modulate your voice.  You were also hyper-aware that you probably smelled terrible too.  You’d been wearing the same clothes since you got up the day before and since you’d put them on you’d been running around the city and you’d had sex in a public restroom at a bar. The thought of any of the Avengers meeting you like this was quite frankly, mortifying.
You followed Natasha and Clint off the jet and they were greeted by Captain America and a tall, brunette woman wearing a grey pencil skirt and a black turtleneck. The exhaustion you felt made it really hard to process the fact that Captain Steve Rogers was less than a yard away from you.  Especially given your current state.  He was always going to remember that when he met you, you were the human embodiment of the living dead.  Smell and all.
“Welcome home,” Steve said.  “This must be the healer.”
“That’s right,” Clint said.
You introduced yourself to Steve and offered him your hand.
“Welcome to the facility.  This is Hill,” he said, indicating to the woman with him.
“Alright, you two go get some rest. We’ll debrief after you’ve slept,” Hill said, scratching something down onto the Stark Pad she was holding.
“See you then!  Totally gonna go and sleep right away, nothing else!”  Clint said, saluting.  Natasha stifled a laugh and the two of them headed off down the corridor.
Hill turned to you and continued tapping away on her tablet.  “You’ll have very limited access to the facility until you’ve been cleared by security.  I’m guessing you might need sleep?  A shower?”
“That would be fantastic,” you agreed.
“Follow me,” she said.  The two of you began to walk in the same direction as Clint and Natasha at a brisk pace.  “The compound is run by an artificial intelligence.  Her name is FRIDAY and she'll let you into the parts of the facility you are allowed in and keep you out of what you're not,” Hill explained as you walked.  “I appreciate that you have come here voluntarily to assist us, but we are still a private military installation, so security is important.  For now, you will be primarily restricted to your room, however, if you need any medical care I can take you to the medbay.”
“No.  I never need that,” you said.
“Oh, right,” Hill said, shaking her head.  “So used to the script.”
“Carry on,” you said with a soft laugh.
“I'm also giving you access to the smaller pool and gym,” Hill continued.  “It's the one used by the administration staff and generally fairly quiet.  Ask FRIDAY.  We would prefer that you go straight to the security clearance and debrief, but we understand after an event like you just experienced you may need to let out some stress.  For this reason, you can have access to any onsite psychiatric services.  We have many therapists on staff.  At some point you will need to speak to one but if you feel you need one sooner than later that can be arranged.”
“Oh… I'm… I think I can wait until after security clearance,” you said.
“If that changes just let FRIDAY know,” Hill replied.  The two of you rounded a corner and then she opened a door that led outside.  It was bright out and there were teams of people in sweats running in formation.
She led you down a path to a large white building with huge windows and an A on the side.  “That building is the main hub, that's where you'll go when you're ready to speak to us.  For now, we're just going to housing,” she continued as you made your way through the facility.  “Barton said you helped him in the field.”
“Yeah, he fell off a building,” you answered.  “I used my powers to heal him so he could get back.”
“That certainly sounds like Clint,” Hill said.  You thought she might have stifled a laugh, but you couldn’t be sure.  “You're okay with us running some tests?”
“Yes, of course,” you answered. “I wouldn't have come…”
“Great,” she said, cutting you off.  “Ideally the run down when you're ready will go, security clearance, debrief and interview, then we’ll run some tests.  But it's up to you how much you can handle.  It's a big adjustment coming here.  It can get a bit much for some people.”
“I’ll be sure to let you know if I'm feeling overwhelmed,” you said as a set of glass doors opened for you, letting you into the accommodation building.  “Getting close to that now.”
“Right, sorry, you must be tired,” Hill said.  “We’re nearly there.”
Your room was on the first floor and Hill opened the door to let you in.  It reminded you of a cheap hotel.  There was a full-sized bed, with gray linens, that offset the grey of the walls.  The walls were unadorned and the only other furniture in the room was a side table, desk, and dresser.
“The bathroom is in here,” Hill said, opening the bathroom door. “There are towels and toiletries.  We're not a hotel though so if there's anything missing or you need anything, and I do mean anything, let FRIDAY know.  She’ll place an order.  Inside the dresser is a Stark Pad.  You can use it to find out what the kitchen is making and have it sent up.  Make sure you eat.  You can also browse the internet.  Please do not post on social media about where you are until your security check.  We’ll know so don't think you can get it by us.  You haven't signed an NDA yet but you will and what you post about will be taken into account when we're deciding if we’ll actually recruit you.  When you're ready to have the security run let FRIDAY know and someone will come and collect you.  If you want to back out, we understand, just let her know that too and we’ll take you home.  Any questions?”
Your head was reeling from the amount of information just dropped on you along with your complete exhaustion.  “Uhh…” You said blinking slowly.
“Right, well if any come up…”
“Ask FRIDAY,” you finished.  “Got it.”
She smiled and closed the tablet.  “I'll leave you to it.  You’ll be fine, kid,” Hill said.  “Just get sleep, eat, and you’ll be part of the team in no time.”
“Thank you,” you said.  “I’ll do that.”
“I'll be seeing you,” she said and left you alone.  You peeled yourself out of the clothes you were wearing, collapsed onto the bed, and were asleep almost immediately.

Ocean Eyes - Part 2
Tumblr media
It was an unusually hot day, so i pulled out Mason's kiddy pool and filled it for him to cool off in. I was sat on one of the sun loungers close by reading my book where i could still keep an eye on him.
"Mom?"
"Yeah babe?"
"Is auntie Hannah coming round soon with Lucas? Im bored"
"They should be here soon buddy" i smiled over at him.
"Okay.... im hungry"
"Fine.... i'll go get you something but you have to come out the water while i'm inside...."
"Oh mom i dont wanna get out...."
"Mace come on now...." i rolled my eyes putting my book down.
"Knock knock" i heard a very familiar voice call out from behind, i turned and stared wide eyed at none other than Scott Evans!!
"Scott.... what... what are you doing here?" I asked standing up and walking over to the back gate to let him in.
"Chris told me where you were, i had to come see you! I've missed you! You stopped replying to my messages and wouldn't take my calls...."
"Yeah i'm sorry Scott, that was a dick move" i nodded, I had been friends with the Evan's since we were kids.... best friends with Chris and Scott "i was dealing with some stuff.... guess i didn't handle it well"
"I can see that" he said looking over at Mason who was sat in the pool with his back to us as he crashed some toys around "he yours?"
"He is, thats Mason"
"Well you gonna introduce me properly??" He asked being his usual sassy self!
"Sure, come on over" i led the way over to where Mason was playing feeling my heart racing, i hadn't been this nervous in forever!
"Hey Mace? I want you to meet a friend of mine...."
Mason turned to face us and i heard Scott audibly gasp.
"This is my friend Scott"
"Hi" he said shyly looking Scott over.
"Hey bud, its nice to meet you...." Scott smiled at Mason before turning his attention to me with wide eyes as Mason carried on playing as if we wasn't there.
"Is there something you need to tell me Y/N?....."
I looked away from Scott keeping my eyes on my son, i shook my head in disbelief..... i did not expect to be having this conversation today!
"You know his a spitting image...."
"I know Scott! Im not blind" i snapped.
"But how?? I mean i know how! But...."
"Hey! Its just us...." i heard Hannah call from inside, she always let herself in.
"Hey.... oh shit"
"Hey Hannah, good to see you" Scott smiled with a little wave.
"Scott..... what a surprise..."
"Han, can you watch Mason while i go inside and talk to Scott?" I asked as i shifted nervously on the spot.
"Sure".
"Hi auntie Y/N!" Lucas said loudly as he ran past me heading to Mason.
"Hey buddy" i smiled at him as i led the way into the house with Scott following close behind.
Tumblr media
"Okay so spill it" Scott said breaking the awkward silence between us as he pulled out a chair and sat down at the kitchen table.
"What do you already know? What did Chris tell you about us?...." i asked avoiding eye contact with him.
"Well obviously i know the two of you used to hook up occasionally.... he said he just lost contact with you when you left town"
"Wow....." i scoffed shaking my head "is your brother still an asshole?"
"Why are you calling him an asshole? I thought you guys were friends??"
"We were. Then we were more.....or at least i thought so"
"You two were serious?"
"I guess not"
"He never said anything...."
"Before he made it 'big' with the whole Captain America thing we were serious"
"How serious?"
"Serious enough to get married....."
"Im sorry WHAT???!!"
"Yep"
"How did i not know about this??? when did this happen??" he stared at me with wide eyes and his mouth hanging open as he tried to process the information.
"You remember the weekend in Vegas for my birthday, before he started filming Winter Soldier?....that one night you got food poisoning and stayed in bed..."
"You got married in Vegas?! were you both drunk??"
"Nope, stone cold sober" i shrugged "god i loved him Scott.... he was telling me he loved me and talking about starting a family..... we walked past a chapel and he asked me to marry him. Promised we'd do it properly when we got home...."
"My god...... so what happened?"
"Chris wanted to wait until he finished filming to tell everyone.... or so he said. When he came home once he was done filming he told me we had made a mistake. His career was taking off and he wouldn't have time for a wife..... he was getting a lot of attention from women, he didn't want to be tied down with me did he?"
"Did he say that?!"
"He didn't have to, he was pictured with different women all the time" i shrugged.
"What an asshole!" Scott spat sounding pissed at his brother "how could he do that to you of all people??"
I shook my head as i thought back on the time i was heartbroken.... pining for my best friend... my husband, and he had so easily forgotten about me, i quickly wiped a stray tear away before Scott could see.
"I found out i was pregnant two weeks later. I tried calling him but he never answered or returned my messages..... so i made a choice. I decided to pack up and leave, start somewhere new where i could raise my baby. I received divorce papers shortly after which i signed and returned, i didnt want anything to do with him"
"You should have called me! I wouldve talked some sense into him!"
"He didn't want me Scott let alone a baby.... he made his choice and i made mine" i smiled looking out the window at my beautiful boy "i dont regret it for a second, Mason is my world. He's my perfect little boy.... even if he does look like a spitting image of his father. Thats the hardest part.... its the eyes.... he has his eyes".
Scott was suddenly beside me pulling me into his arms and holding me tight.
"Im so sorry sweetie"
"Its fine.... it was a long time ago.... when Chris showed up here yesterday i nearly had a heart attack!" I mumbled against Scotts chest.
"I bet.... why was he here?"
"Apparently we're still married! That jackass never filed the papers! But now he's seeing someone and its getting serious he wants the option of marrying her"
"You should tell him about Mason....."
"I can't Scott, he'd hate me.... what if he tried to take Mason from me?"
"He wouldn't do that, he might want a chance to get to know his son but he wouldn't hurt you like that....."
"Can you be sure? 100% sure that he wouldn't want to take Mason?? I've seen some of his interviews about wanting kids...."
"Don't you want Mason to know his father?"
"Of course! You dont think i wanted my son to have a dad? I tried to tell him Scott but he ghosted me!"
"Look i love my brother you know that, i know what he was like a few years back, he went through a phase of being an absolute douche bag..... but his different now"
"I'll think about it okay?"
"Okay..... i'll be there for you through it all i promise"
"Thank you Scotty, god I've missed you" i smiled giving him another hug "you staying for lunch? Mason's hungry"
"Id love to".
Tumblr media
Scotts POV
Y/N stood at the front door waving me off with Mason, my NEPHEW! I still couldn't believe it.... Chris was a Father!!
I waved to them both as i pulled away and started my drive home. 20 minutes into my journey my cell started to ring, i looked down to see it was Chris calling.
"Hey"
"Hey, what you up to?"
"Just on my way home, i went to go see Y/N"
"Oh.... h..how was she?"
"Surprised to see me, but she was good"
"Good, thats good. What did she tell you?" He sounded worried, nervous even.
"I know everything...." i huffed out a breath "how could you be so fucking stupid Chris?? you married our best friend.... our oldest friend and then left her!"
"I was such an asshole back then.... i know, but i can't change that now can i?"
"No i guess not"
"It was so good seeing her yesterday man, made me realise how much I've missed her. I was hoping we could work things out, be friends at least but.... Scott she fucking hates me!"
"Can't say i blame her....."
"Im not that guy anymore Scott" he said sadly and i knew that, id seen the change in my brother over the years.
"Try and talk to her again, maybe she just needed to get over the shock of seeing you"
"You think she'd wanna see me?"
"I have no clue, but if you want to sort things out with her your going to have to make an effort with her. Let her see your not the same asshole that left her"
"Maybe i should just leave her alone, she's been fine without me...."
"Chris..... i wasn't going to say anything but theres something you should know...."

Missing 4
A/N:Long time no see, sorry. But hey, the next part is already planned out, so just writing it.
Part 1 Part 3 part 5
Au:Human AU and Famous
Pairing: Future/Pining Prinxiety
TW: 2 mentions of breakfast (half a sentence each), swearing
It's the second day of the show and Roman stands in front of his closet. He can't decide what to wear. He already planned all the out when he agreed to go to the show, the problem is Virgil. He hasn't thought of the fact that he wants to impress his ex when he decided what to wear. He wants to be extra, but not too much. Since too much may give them too much attention and Virgil doesn't like that. But at the same time he wants Virgil to be impressed
The second day and nothing goes like plan, great.
Half an hour later Roman finally has his outfit together and goes to eat breakfast. And honestly he is super excited to see Virgil. Even if they will never come together again just being around him for the time the show goes is enough. Spending sometime as Colleagues together is better than drown in misery. Maybe there is even the chance that they will come together again, or maybe Roman just daydreams too much.
After eating breakfast his chauffeur picks him up and drives him to the show. While humming along to some songs from the crying hearts, Virgil's band. Roman gets out of the car, goes in the building and waits in there for Virgil to show up, to be fair Roman is early in hope Virgil would be here already.
Virgil gets out of the bed this morning a lot more tired than Roman. Maybe because he hasn't slept well. His thoughts circled around Roman and he starts to see that he isn't over Roman, but he doesn't want to be some cliche-lovestory that's easy money for the TV channel. Should he just ignore his feelings? It's just a little crush anyway, remembering the old times when they were happy together, nothing serious, he'll get over it. Well, he won't make the first move anyway. Not when there are cameras everywhere. What will he do if Roman makes the first move?---
Alright Stop, he starts spiraling again and he already did that all night! He just throws a black Jeans, black shirt and his Tour Jacket on and eats a quick snack before leaving with a Uber.
And oh shit, he so isn't ready for this. They have to write a song together, open up again. They will spend like two month together. Virgil sighs quietly before trying to get his mind of things, by thinking about a few lyrics ideas he has for future songs from his band. He doesn't come far, maybe it's because his thoughts move back to Roman or cause the ride is short. What ever it is has the same result, he and Roman both sit in their room when the host comes in.
The host of the show smiles:"Hey, Boys. We have an idea."
Roman smiles back:"Really, Jenna, what is it?"
"Well! Since the first episode came out some fans have made edits for you. And we want your reaction to it!", Jenna says, turning the Laptop on.
'Oh shit', is Virgil's first thought. He doesn't wanna see shipping videos of him and his ex.
'Oh shit', is also Roman's first thought. Cause he might already saw one or another, but he can't be like "haha I wish".
They don't even have time to voice their options, because Cameras get turned on, sound to and the video starts.
The first edit starts with Roman and Virgil being first interdruced and paired together and continues with other moments where they look at each other or just something that fans have decided is cute, all while 'Trouble is', a song from Virgil's band that's about not forgetting an ex-lover, plays in the background.
All the musician does while watching is looking uncomfortable and keeping his lips a straight line. The actor doesn't look much better, he stops himself from awwing by biting his lip, he looks more comfortable than Virgil though, probably cause he actually enjoys that.
"So what do you think of it?", Jenna asks when it's over.
"Well the editing seems to be good, the transitions are smooth.", Roman answers, ignoring what it's about entirely.
"And you Virgil?", she asks again.
"I uhm.. Don't know?",he says unsure.
Jenna just nods and plays the next one.
This time there is a voice over from an old interview Roman made where he gushed over Virgil, back then they were together and happy. Over it are new pictures from the show, but also old pictures from Roman's Instagram, Virgil deleted all of the pictures.
"So, Virgil, how did you like it?", Jenna asks.
"It was okay, that person spend probably a long time getting all the pictures. I respect the hussle.", Virgil answers more put together, since he was more ready after the first one.
"Alright.", Jenna answers, getting a bit annoyed that both don't really react emotionally.
"I agree with Virgil, it seems time-consuming to edit those.", Roman adds, frustrating her even more.
"let's watch more later, you two should work now on your song.", the Host decides with a tight smile and grabs her laptop.
When the boys are alone both breath out, relaxing a bit.
"That was interesting.", Roman says.
"A kind way to put it.", Virgil answers, before starting:"So, any idea what the song should be about?"
"Hm, yeah. A love song would be great.", Roman immediately decides.
"Of course.", Virgil mumbles.
"You've written a few songs like that yourself, right? Could you maybe play one or another so I get maybe a more specific picture what I want?", request the actor with a grin.
The other boy screams internally at that, Roman used to do something like that all the time;
'Hey, love, I'm learning right now a romantic moment, would you please sing a love song for me' or 'Im not feeling like I could play romance in the moment, show me a bit real romance and I'll be ready to go to work... Maybe with a song?' Roman said things like that all the time. He loves Virgil singing, so he used every chance he got to hear it. And that grin just shows Roman knows what he's doing, and that Virgil always agrees.
"Yeah, sure", he tries to sound casual while he picks up a guitar and starts to sing.
If Roman wasn't already head over heels for the Emo he would be now. His voice is a gift from above. The way his eyes stay concentrated on the guitar strings while also having a dreamily look in them. He looks fully in his element, well he is fully in his element.
The actor has no other choice than to look at Virgil in awe, forgetting the cameras and later fan edits for a few minutes.
When the singing is over Roman knows to things:
1.his song is gonna be about someone Virgil being absolutely beautiful while playing the guitar.
2.he has to talk to Virgil about his feelings, today.
So it comes that Roman goes to Virgil, who is waiting for his Uber, after the cameras are turned off. "Hey, Virgil."
"Oh, hey Roman.", he looks up from his phone.
"Can we talk? In private?", the taller one asks.
"I- yeah Sure.", Virgil nods.

Story time:
I don't know if anyone cares or wants to read this, but I'm gonna tell y'all when and why did i start believing in Charmie. So buckle up, who ever is reading this.
I've been a part of a lot of fandoms and they were usually about movies/TV shows/actors/actresses. I've always been a shipper of characters and not actors, I'd search their pictures by their character's names, read and write fanfics about the characters, i did everything that involved just their characters. Example : i used to ship Stiles and Derek from Teen Wolf, just them, not Dylan O'Brien or Tyler Hoechlin, same thing with the Maze runner, i shipped Newt and Thomas, and now Thomas Brodie Sanger and Dylan O' Brien (oh Dylan...lol) etc.
And then i saw Call me by your name, and i was shipping (still do) Elio and Oliver, but there was something more to it, i couldn't wrap my finger around it, something was missing, like it wasn't enough that it was just them. So i went online and watched all the interviews with Timothée and Armie.
Honestly, something you need to know about me, i was never involved in a private life of a celebrity or knew all this PR, Hollywood, fake relationships shit until i came here on Tumblr. So when i watched the interviews i was like "Aww they're such good friends, they're really close if they talk like that and touch each other like that, if they compliment each other like that etc", because i was like "You can't ship two actors, are you insane?? Armie's happily married with two kids, his wife looks good (on photoshopped pics, i never zoomed in her eyes and jaw), and Timmy's definitely straight and all that bs."
So time goes by, and I'm still shipping just Elio and Oliver, and Armie and Timothée like bros and good friends (that rolled around naked on bed, and made out for 10+ minutes).
And then TIFF happened and that was a breaking point for me. Even before TIFF when Timmy showed up after being a ghost for 6 months, and he showed up for Armie Hammer. That kind of spiked in my book, that was the first time i gave myself a permission to believe there's more to it than just friends. And then the TIFF hug and everything that happened at TIFF.
So i joined Tumblr and realized i wasn't the only one with that opinion, it was good but still wasn't enough for me. Now, I've seen Charmie being spread around and never really took it seriously, like i saw them as nothing but friends. But that hug, that hug was...everything to me. I'd think of Armie being married and then the hug, I'd think Timmy's probably straight, and then the hug. The TIFF hug undid all the doubts i had of them being just friends.
Then SSIFF happened and the rumor about Tim going to dinner with LRD and then his eyes, those sad eyes, he wasn't sick, we've seen him being sick, it wasn't the same. No, those eyes were pure sadness and anxiety, and i remember seeing him like that and all I wanted to do is fly over to Spain to hug him for whatever reason.
Fast forward to the first Central Park picture of Tim and Lily.
That's when i got very suspicious. Okay, they were at TIFF and SSIFF, there was no interaction, that rumor of them going to the same dinner was just a rumor until the black and white picture came out months later (where Timmy looked like he was holding some sort of guard), how come this relationship just sparked out of nowhere? (Lily was on the set for 2 weeks, no time to fall in love) Then Mud happened, then those pictures from the rain, then those from Central Park, and all the gossips and rumors and made up stories...everything was so suspicious to me. So i log onto Tumblr again and saw all the theories and i tried to develop my very own.
If Charmie was just a fantasy, and it was made up by couple of people on the internet, then it shouldn't bother anybody, because it was just a fantasy, and this relationship began so close to the TIFF hug that got me thinking "What if it's not just a fantasy but something real, and they're covering something up?". Because, let's face it, not in a millions of years would I ever put Timmy and Lily together in a relationship. He was Tim, and she was very problematic (from family to drugs, lbr). It got me to question either Timmy and his choice of women, or his PR team (I learned that here). But Timmy went on being his perky self and this relationship just stunk to the core.
And from that point on, everything was smooth sailing.
Maybe I've gotten far into something I shouldn't have, but the point is, the reason why i started to believe in Charmie is because of the fake relationship. It was too close to them being publicly affectionate and too far from thinking Tim would really fall for a woman like that. I'm sure Lily's okay in a closed room alone, but in public, i don't like her very much and it has nothing to do with Tim, or me being a jealous person that wants Tim all for myself (he's not my type), i wouldn't follow someone like her and her insights in the world. Simple as that.
After that, i turned the film around and realized that they've probably been "together" since CMBYN promo or so. The fact that "friendship" like Tim's and Armie's had to be covered by a fake girlfriend and a wife that was rather a control freak, then i got my thoughts straight.
Now i know what we say about Tim and Lily, and Armie and Liz, they could all be legit and really in love and happy, but...i just don't see it. And i know what we say about Tim and Armie could be false, or it could be true, we're just speculating, but my God, when all the pieces are put together, when all the videos of them gawking at each other, their body language, their eyes and compliments, just them being them...it's hard to see them as just friends and co-stars. They went through something when they were filming CMBYN, and I seriously doubt they stopped at that. I think this movie awoke something in both of them and they deepened the bond and it got them where they are now.
So, thank you PR teams for making me believe in Charmie, you did a shitty job and each time you screw up a bit, I believe in them even more, because the more you try to cover something up, the more real it gets for me. And it's not just them, it's the entire picture, this is very simple and people with logical thinking can see it also.
Conclusion : I am a Charmie, i love and support both Armie and Timmy separately and together, i don't like Lily and i think Liz is very...something. No hate, this is just my opinion on all this.
Have a great day, sorry for the long post, here's some Charmie love.❤️

After Luna changes, Ashley and her head over to The Amory to rehearse.
It's an open square stage. Like a four way runway. They do a run through, each positioned at an opposite corner. Starting by walking away from each other so that by time they meet, perfectly timed, they can toss their mic to the other as they walk by. It takes a couple runs to nail it. Not the toss but musical timing. They don't stop until it's perfect. Both girls maniacs when it comes to detail. Feeling confident in their flow and timing together, they cut out just after midnight.
Luna, Ashley and her band head to this neat little place called Up-Down to unwind with drinks and bar food. They hang out for a bit. Going over the show, bullshitting and playing pinball. Luna Snaps Colson while at the bar. Laughing, buzzed and full they wrap it up. Luna and Ashley have an interview in the morning.
Before going to sleep the two girls go over any last minute details of their performance. They're sitting on Luna's bed, sharing a joint also.
"Dude." A giggly Luna grabs Ashley's knee. "We're gonna do a fucking show together."
Of all their years, besides karaoke, they've never been on stage together.
"I know!!!" Ashley excitedly shakes her whole crossed legged body on the bed. "We're gonna fucking kill it!!" She exclaims to Luna's laughter.
--------------------------------------------------
Once Colson and Casie are home, he checks flight schedules real quick.
She's watching TV while he makes them dinner and a few phone calls. One to Emma, that goes according to plan. Then another.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" He asks.
After dinner, Colson gets Casie ready for bed. She has school tomorrow. They read 3 of her favorite books and he sings What I Got. It's their goodnight song. Tucking her in, he tells her that Mommy will pick her up from school but he'll see her the next day. Asking why, she's satisfied with his explanation. He tucks in with a tight squeeze, an I love you and a kiss.
Going into his room to collect himself, he lights a joint and checks his phone. Finding a Snap from Luna.
Tumblr media
Opening it, he's pleased with his earlier decision. Snapping her back, he finishes the joint before climbing into bed. Trying not to miss her.
--------------------------------------------------
Ashley wakes up before Luna. As always. Learning over the years, she enjoys the half hour to herself that it usually takes to get her friend out of bed. She finally rises Luna with coffee, who immediately rolls a joint. They have a system.
Ashley showers first, while Luna sits with her, the joint and coffee. Holding it for Ashley to hit when she pops out her wet head.
Luna rolls another. Finishing in the shower, Ashley does the same for her.
Out of the shower, looking for clothes, Luna finally checks her phone. There's a Snap from Colson, amongst other things. But first, Colson.
Tumblr media
"Oh my Fuck. He's fucking handsome." Even looking tired, he makes her body flush and pussy swell. Her heart misses him."
"Hey! You wearing this?" Ashley asks, pulling Luna out of her phone. Distracted she sets it down.
"Uhhhh... Nah. Go ahead." Luna says. She pulls on ripped black skinies, a sequin black tank and a long sleeve sheer white shirt. She puts on a deep purple lip before slipping on her white Chucks.
Luna stands up, just as Ashley asks "Ready?"
"Yup." Luna nods, grabbing her bag.
And awaaaaay they go......
--------------------------------------------
Luna and Ashley arrive at the station on time, which is amazing for them. Ashley's team is close behind. Luna likes them individually but finds an entourage annoying. Plus, she's not used to Ashley being as famous as she is now. To Luna, they're still just two kids running around, hanging out.
Luna and Ashley sit bullshitting in the back room. There's really no way to prepare for an interview, there's always room to go off track. They both know this and each other well enough to let it organically flow.
They look up as the door opens. Expecting to go on. They're not.
It's Dom and Colson.
Dom grabs Ashley, splattering her surprised, happy face with kisses.
Luna exclaims "Holy FUCK!!" Tears welling in her eyes as she jumps onto Colson.
Kissing him like he's her dying breath.
"What the fuck are you doing here!?" She asks in awe while still kissing him all over.
"We've come to watch the Nightmare!" Dom exclaims, pulling his mouth off of Ashley's. She pulls him back in.
Still in his arms, Luna looks at Colson smiling. "Really?" She asks. "What about Case?"
"Yeah, Em's gonna grab her from school and I'll pick her up tomorrow." He reassures her to another passionate kiss. They missed each other.
An intern walks into the two couples making out. "Oh!" She says before turning around.
Breaking away from Colson she calls "No, no, no..." Before kissing him once more and sliding off his body. "We're ready." She says.
The boys kiss the girls good luck before they head into the studio.
--------------------------------------------
"So we've got Halsey here. She's doing a free concert tonight at The Armory. We've also got That Brooklyn... Uh, I don't know if I can say this on air... Can I just call you That Brooklyn Babe?" Steve, one of the radio hosts asks.
"Absolutely Not." Luna answers quickly without hesitation. "Stick to simply Brooklyn if you're worried." She tells him.
"Ok... Ok.." Steve agrees.
"You can tell she's from NY!!" The co-host Dave chimes in. Luna gives him a side eye with raised eyebrows.
"Where the FUCK does Ash have me??" She thinks.
Steve starts up again "So you guys are here because you have a record together, Nightmare. It's #1 on The Pop charts. I think it's even #12 on The Alternative..." He looks around checking his notes. "Yep. Yep. #12.... You ladies must be incredibly proud. In all my years, I don't think I've ever heard a song as cutting or direct. I have to tell you. As a man, the song is a bundle of emotions. I literally go from fearing you, to wanting to change the world for you to feeling stupid for feeling like I have to save you."
Ashley and Luna speak at the same time.
Luna stating a solid "Good."
While Ashley offers up at sweet "Awww... Thank you."
Both girls give each other a cocked smile and amused side eye. Ashley plays the game. Luna not so much.
Laughing, Ashley leans in. "That's the idea. For you to see us as equals. Not ones who need to be saved and definitely not feared, although a little fear is good." She cocks her lip and winks at Steve.
"One's who deserve choices and options." Luna chimes in. "This isn't about us playing on the same baseball field. We're equal as human beings but in two different leagues because we are different. Men require different things than women and vice versa. This is about RESPECTING each other and what the other needs and is entitled to. Constitutionally. At least up until less then a month ago."
Luna's not afraid to drop political bombs. It's a lot of the reason why she doesn't do promos. There's no bullshitting with her when a real conversation is at hand.
"You have that song Bad Things with MGK right, Brook.. Brooklyn, is it?" Dave cuts in, stumbling over her name.
Luna knows his tactic but the thought of Colson softens her.
"Yes... I think we're at #5. He's actually about to drop an album on July 5th, Hotel Diablo. It's sick." She squeezes in the plug. "He's actually on the Nightmare record. Him and his band are who recorded with us. We'll be on SNL with them next Saturday." Luna lets out to Ashley's shock. You can't deny, Luna gives a good plug.
"Really?" Asks Steve. He goes on. "So you have this" He uses finger quotes. "'Girl Power' song with this 'Girl Power' video backed by an all male band?" He tilts his head as he asks.
"Yup." Luna's lips pop. "Strong women back men everyday. Why the fuck can't strong men back women?"
"Ohhhhh!!!" There's a howl to the F word. Her important point being lost.
"He's here, isn't he?" Dan asks. "With your boyfriend, Yung Blud?" He turns to Ashley.
"Yeah." She states not thinking anything of it.
"Can we bring 'em in?" Steve looks around, more asking the studio then the women.
"Uhhhh... Yeah... I guess..." Ashley says, unsure looking at Luna's 'What The Fuck???'
A few moments later a giddy Dom and unsure Colson head into the studio. Sitting next to each other, between their girlfriends, they slide their headphones on.
"Hey guys!!" Dan shouts.
"What's up!" Dom shouts back to Colson's "Sup."
Colson and Luna exchange an easy look of understanding. Neither of them is about this life.
"So, we've got 4 of the biggest pop stars right now, in our studio. We have Halsey and her boyfriend Yung Blud. And Machine Gun Kelly and his girlfriend.... We're gonna try it, we'll see if we get bleeped... That Brooklyn Bitch. Now you all are DOMINATING the charts right now. We've got at least 5 Top 40 hits between you guys and most are collaborations."
He's met to their "Yeahs."
He continues "So, tell me. You're all obviously friends and... partners. Is there any competition? Like, Halsey and Brooklyn, are you afraid your boyfriends will knock you out of #1?"
Luna and Ashley look at each other. Ashley speaks first.
"Nooooo.... Like you said, we're all friends. If I Think I'm Okay knocks us out, that's fine. What's most important to Lu.." She corrects herself. "Brooklyn and I is the message. Speaking out for those who can't. Bringing a voice to those who don't in Alabama and across the world. As much as you want to deny it, they're taking our rights away."
"Now nobodies trying to take..." Dave interrupts Ashley but Colson interrupts him.
"But they are, Dude. The fact that a woman who may conceive during a rape can be sentenced longer then the piece of shit who violates her is disgusting." He states firmly.
Luna's heart pounds and swells with pride. "This amazing MOTHERFUCKER."
"It's about lovin each other and lettin each live." Dom steps in. "There's many people's in this world who aren't treated fairly. Nightmare focuses on one specific section. In a smart, blunt way. You can't help but hear it. And if it wasn't true, it wouldn't resonate and it wouldn't be #1." He sits back in his chair.
Luna leans up. "Like Dom was saying, we have a voice. We're going to use it. Anyone out there, please write into AL's local legislature if you want. Support your local ACLU, look into Yellowhammer.com and listen. Always listen. And after you listen, if you have something to say, speak. Please don't be afraid to speak. Silence is any nastiness's dearest ally."
"Are we gonna get ANYTHING juicy from you guys??" Steve asks.
This pisses Luna off.
"What did you expect? You invited two strong women with a politically charged song onto your show?" She asks with her hands up.
"Just.. Just tell me.. Do you all hang out?" Steve asks pathetically, looking for any detail of their lives.
The four of them look at each other and erupt into laugher.
"Yeah, Man." Colson says.
"Of course we hang out, we're best mates!" Dom chimes in.
"Yeah, we all live together too..." Ashley adds.
"Unh-hunh, in beautiful polygamy glory in the Hollywood Hills." Luna finishes.
The four of them erupt into laughter again to the host's dismay.
Luna controls herself. "No, seriously. We all get along really well. Halsey and I have been bestfriends forever. Nightmare is REALLY important. We're debuting it at The Armory tonight. We hope to see you guys there..." She looks at the others. "Hotel Diablo July 5th. Bad Things...."
Ashley pops in "11 minutes, I Think I'm Okay both streaming now. Get some... Tonight's gonna be awesome. We can't wait to see you guys there!!!"
Colson hops on too, laughing. "And Hollywood Whore!" He shouts to the others laughter.
"And don't forget Tales of the Ritalin Club!!" Luna comes back in with a snicker.
"Yes! Yes!" Laughs Dom. "And Eastside.." They continue to shamelessly plug and laugh until Steve talks over them.
"That was Yung Blud and MGK. Halsey with That Brooklyn Bitch. Their debuting their #1 hit Nightmare tonight at The Armory. If it's anything like this interview, I'm sure it will be crazy. We'll be back!"
Nightmare plays them out.
--------------------------------------------------
The four of them tumble laughing into the hallway.
"Come're!!!" Ashley calls. Gathering around a mirror she finds, they pose for cramped selfie. She posts on Instagram immediately.

Luna, Colson, Dom and Ashley roam DownTown Minneapolis. It's early enough on a Monday for Ashley and Colson to not be recognized.
They have lunch and do some shopping. Luna picking up a beautiful, turquoise cuff. Before long Ashley needs to head to the venue. Luna's not far behind here.
The boys will meet them there later.
