DRAMA REVIEW | Perfect Marriage Revenge (2023)
Tumblr media
There’s an argument to be made about how Perfect Marriage Revenge had a perfect execution because it was a 12 episodes long drama and didn’t waste time for unnecessary conflicts. Everything took its right time and was resolved in a cohesive way with the characters development.
Both leads were compelling and had amazing chemistry, but the secondary characters were equally interesting to watch. All the performances outstanding and you can tell the actors are enjoying themselves in their respective roles.
On a story about a woman looking for revenge against her own family, this kdrama had a perfect balance between makjang and romcom. Making it an easy and fun watch. I highly recommend it!

Return to Seoul (2022, dir. Davy Chou) - review by Rookie-Critic
Tumblr media
I was pretty excited for this one. I'd heard nothing but good things about it and the story seemed like a playground for great ideas; Freddie, a young woman who was born in Korea, but adopted as a baby and raised in France, comes back to Korea in search of her birth parents, mainly her mother. While there were a lot of things about the film that I really liked, there's one kind of glaring thing about it that I just couldn't shake: I didn't like Freddie at all.
I struggle with unlikable protagonists in films, it's probably the personal bias that I struggle the most with being objective about. That's not to say that I hate every story with an unlikable protagonist at its center, there are character studies that have absolute scumbags at their center (like Sean Baker's Red Rocket) that I really enjoyed. I'll probably never watch Red Rocket again, because it made me feel gross, but it was an objectively good movie for a lot of different reasons. I think therein lies my problem, Freddie is a selfish, mean character, which is sometimes needed in the moment, but more often than not she's just being cruel to people who don't deserve it. So much so that the one person she isn't awful to during the film leaves Freddie because she sees how horrible Freddie is being to everyone else. I empathize with Freddie's situation, but I absolutely cannot connect with her as a person, and that makes a lot of the film tough to sit through. After awhile it almost becomes an endurance test of waiting for the shoe to drop and for her to be terrible yet again.
Where I think the film works is in its depiction of someone on a journey to fill a void in their life. Freddie's goal, although not specifically stated by her or the film, is to find her parents, because that is the thing she thinks will make her happy, will make her whole. That's the thing that will fill this gap she has in her life that's preventing her from being truly happy. Anytime something gets in the way of this goal or things don't turn out how she wants, she turns to self destructive behavior, because that instant relief is easier than dealing with the pain of that void, or at least that was my interpretation. All of this is great and a high point of the film. Director Davy Chou even has these wonderful moments where the camera holds on Freddie for awhile, and in those moments you really get a sense of her, and those were the moments in the film that I came the closest to understanding her. However, even with these moments, it doesn't seem like there's ever any remorse for the people she's hurt, no growth from beyond that self destructive behavior, only lateral movements that almost always end her back up in the same exact, emotionally volatile state of mind, and the film takes place over a long enough period of time, with enough self-acknowledgement from Freddie of her self destructive tendencies, to where you would expect some kind of positive forward momentum. Also, and I'm not a doctor or a psychiatrist, but I really believe Freddie suffers from Bipolar disorder/manic depression, or at least a lot of her actions led me to believe that. However, the film doesn't seem interested in exploring that and never makes mention of it at all, which leads me to believe she wasn't written with that in mind, but all the signs are there. I feel like the story would have been more interesting had they explored this more, and might have given more context to why Freddie is the way she is.
I think the most frustrating thing about Return to Seoul is that it does so many things right, it has some great high points and the overarching story has all of the pieces in place for there to have been some kind of redeeming moment or, at the very least, slight character growth, but it never truly happens. One could argue that there is a light that illuminates some hope in the final scene, but I didn't read it that way. Return to Seoul is a good movie, as I've said multiple times, there are a ton of things to enjoy about it, but it stops itself from being great. I'm sure there are those out there that will connect with Freddie, clearly the film has been receiving widespread acclaim, but I couldn't find the in with her character, and it kept me from enjoying this the way I've heard others have.
Score: 7/10
Currently only in theaters.

A Thousand Days' Promise
Tumblr media
This story is about love in the adversity. A relationship that should've never started but stood stronger than the correct thing to do. Ji Hyung and Seo Yeon knew each other since they were young because her cousin was a very close friend of Ji Hyung. When they bump into each other after a long time of not seeing each other they start dating, even though he is engaged to the daughter of his parents' closest friends and a girl he knew since childhood. The series starts the day Ji Hyung and Seo Yeon break up because his wedding date has been set. Right from the first minute of the series we see something wrong with Seo Yeon. She is lost on her way to their meeting place and she is wearing hair rolls. When a stranger points at her hair she takes the rolls off so we can see she hadn't intended on leaving home with them on. She has intense headaches too which drives her to finally get a health checkup and finds out that she has Alzheimer.
The story feels slow because it takes the audience through her deterioration. We witness her little mishaps and how they progress to bigger and dangerous ones. Ji Hyung decides to marry her and when they find out she is pregnant, Seo Yeon decides to have the baby because after hearing the baby's heartbeat, she can't abort her child. This is a very sad story that touches, not just Ji Hyung and Seo Yeon, but also their families. Her little brother, her cousin and aunt who are always there for her. Ji Hyung's mother, later on his father and even his ex-fiancé, who is a woman with such empathy, forgiveness and love that was incredible at times. She was clingy but she accepted his decision and didn't force him to stay. Her parents are something else too. I can see that her empathy comes from her father. Her mother is feisty and speaks her mind, no filter in the delivery. Yet, I like the fact that the parents are able to stay friends despite what Ji Hyung did to Hyang Ki.
For those who have family members who suffer from this illness, this story is a reminder of painful moments. It is a heartbreaking story but it also has its beautiful moments, those are the ones that carried them throughout the hard times. Ji Hyung kept his promise to love her longer than a thousand days.
P.S. I usually don't talk about performance but this cast was excellent and Soo Ae did a wonderful job portraying Seo Yeon.

2018 SBS Drama Awards - December 31, 2018
Best Supporting Actor (Lim Won-Hee)
Tavsiye ederim.

Training Tensions
Tumblr media
A second part of Early Mornings (link in masterlist and coming soon) in a way. Showing the beginning of the mateship/courting between Cassian, our illyrian oc (who now has a name), and Nesta. But with a plot twist so I have an excuse for something that may get posted later.
Summary - Nesta can't help falling harder and harder for Irelina. They've been ignoring it for months now, but the dam has to break at some point
Warnings - fxmxf threesome inferred, oral, mentions of a trouple/poly-relationships, husband encouraging someone else to bang his wife (because Cassian is a king), mentions of impact play, wing play, oh and some actually emotionally stuff. It's NSFW but not as spicy as I've been known to post
A/N - I hadn't intended to add to Early Morning much, but when I'm in a writers block, my mind goes back to her, Nesta, and Cassian, and the emotional bond between her and Nesta. So you may occasionally see pieces of them sprinkled between other updates.
Tumblr media
"He's just selfish!" Nesta landed another harsh punch that had Irelina smiling with pride inside despite the stinging in her hands growing. "He just thinks he knows everything," another sharp punch landed on her pad. "And for being able to get into people's heads, he understands nothing."
The final blow caught her off guard. Nesta pulled a move the young female watched her use while she was sparring with Cassian. A faked right into a left into the stomach. Nesta gasped as she doubled over. Eyes wide in shock as she began to cough.
"I'm so sorry!" Nesta was at her side, a hand gently touching her back. "I-"
"Don't apologize," she wheezed out. She placed her hands on her knees, taking deep breaths through her nose as Cassian ran over.
"What happened?" Nesta backed away, only for Irelina to reach for her hand and hold her there. Electricity shooting through her at the contact.
"She's a visual learner," is all she said. "She took a fake shot on me and it worked because we had hardly even discussed that yet. I'm so proud of you, Ness."
Nesta's face slightly flushed with the praise before she buried it away.
-
Training the next day involved her and Nesta in meditation. Focusing on their inner self. "I can feel how unsettled you are. Talk to me." It was a gentle invitation. One Nesta took immediately.
"I just do not understand how you all sat there and did not tell Feyre she would die."
Nesta watched her eyes open. "There was not a single day that went by since I found out that I did not want to tell her. Trust me." Irelina paused, looking towards where Cassian and Azriel were sparring. "It just was not my place. I do agree it was not handled properly, though."
Nesta's mind froze, unprepared to have her feelings validated. "You don't think I'm wrong?"
She shook her head at Nesta, eyes closed again. "I think Rhysand, my dearest brother, should have included his mate and wife in decision making regarding their babe and her body. I feel HE should have told her right away and included her in the search to find solutions."
She opened her eyes, finally looking at Nesta with that gaze that reminded the younger female of molten honey. "I do not think you told her from a place of genuine concern and love, though. That is the only thing I do not believe was handled correctly on your end."
Nesta sook her head. "I do love her, it was concern."
"It is not your love I question, Ness. It's your intention. In your heart, yes, you meant well. In your subconscious, no." Nesta studied the illyrian female, her beautiful face and scarred wings. "I think you are grieving so deeply, Nesta, your heart has begun to be poisoned. You are blinded by your rage and hurt. I understand that heartache."
"We failed you," she continued. "We failed you, and Elain, multiple times. We failed you when you were forced into that Cauldron, we failed you when you were recovering, we failed you when your father died, and we failed you after the war."
Nesta felt her heart swelling, her eyes beginning to water. She had longed to hear those exact words for nights now.
"I failed you," Irelina said softly. "I failed you when I allowed you to go down the same pathway I did of numbing yourself through booze and sex. I failed you when I wasn't there every day and night holding you. I failed you, and I will never be able to make up for it."
She held her hand to Nesta, then gently laced their fingers together. "Everything you are feeling, little dove, every piece of anger, of longing, of sadness, of self doubt, of absolute burning sheer rage, you are valid in those feelings. You are allowed to feel those feelings." She brought Nesta's hand to her lips, kissing the top of it gently, "it's how we move forward in how you process those feelings, how you let them free, that makes the difference in your soul's peace or turmoil."
-
Nesta was awake before her. Before Azriel and Cassian. Eyes locked in the fire burning in the hearth. Her dreams were haunted by Irelina, but not the way her nightmares had plagued her.
They were haunted by gentle touches, soft whispered words of love, support, and encouragement.
They were haunted by memories of the two of them, when Rhys would allow her off her leash and the two of them would spend time reading, finger tips running up and down her arm as Irelina jotted down notes for reports or flipped her horror novel behind her.
Nesta jumped when soft hands found her waist, a kiss placed on her temple. "Why are you up so early, dove?" She shivered at the sound of her voice laced in sleep. "Want breakfast or coffee? I can steal some tea from Azriel too?"
Nesta's mind flashed to the last time they had breakfast alone, to when Irelina served her coffee and the fluffiest pancakes she had ever had. Nesta had hardly been able to control herself around Irelina and Cassian for weeks after that, but her  rage towards Cassian helped. Her jealousy of hearing him make his wife a begging mess helped.
"I was wondering if we could not train today?" Nesta asked quietly. "Just take a day to relax, you and me?"
"I'd have to ask Azriel," she said. "But I will work something out with him. Did you want breakfast?"
-
Azriel had not let Nesta out of training. Following his orders to a t, much to both of the females disappointment.
Nesta and Irelina were sparring basic hand to hand and currently locked together. It didn't take her but a spare second to take Nesta to the ground, straddling her hips and pinning her hands above her head.
Nesta's chest was heaving, her eyes wide and mouth parted slightly.  Irelina's brows scrunched together at the same time Cassian gripped his chest over his heart and Azriel's shoulder.
She was off Nesta in an instant, moving through the House of Wind as Nesta ran after her.
She locked herself into the bathroom of her and Cassian's room, sinking against the wall. Nesta jiggled the door handle forehead against the cool wood, "Irelina, let me in." She knocked softly. "Talk to me, please. I know you're scared. I was scared when I felt it too, but you've made me feel so safe, please."
She heard Cassian's footsteps. "Lark? Baby, what's wrong?" Irelin didn't answer. Sitting with her head against the wall, a new silver thread gleaming next to a golden one. She tugged them both before closing the bond down.
Cassian knew the message, placing a hand around Nesta's shoulders as he saw that pretty silver string too. "Give her a little bit, dove. She's shocked."
"You knew?" Cassian nodded at her question.
"Of course, dove. I knew the second I laid eyes on you in that manor you were mine, ours." Lark and dove, Nesta noted immediately. His little birds. The thought spread warmth through her body. The thought of being his. Of being Irelina's. Of being theirs.
-
Irelina skipped dinner, punching her feelings into one of the spare bags into the early hours of night.
Nesta could feel her confusion, her excitement, her pain radiating through her hands.
Cassian and Azriel had left for the evening claiming there was an emergency in Windhaven, and telling Nesta to behave herself while they were gone. Nesta closed her book, walking to the training grounds and sitting to watch Irelina.
She was covered in sweat, muscles and breasts shining in the light of the full moon. She struck the punching bag quick, precise, and repeatedly. She was wearing nothing more than a tight pair of leggings and a bra built for training. Her dark hair was messily braided back with a few pieces framing her high cheekbones.
Nesta felt her eyes trapped on the muscles flexing in her thighs and arms.  Irelina paused, her head turning to Nesta. She shook whatever thoughts were running through her mind off and went back to beating the punching bag.
The loud flapping of wings and a soft thud next to Nesta ripped her from the inappropriate place her mind was going.
"She likes to bathe after doing this," it was an emotionless purr that made Nesta growl. "She likes lilac oils and red wine. Plenty of bubbles."
Nesta glared towards Rhysand. "Why are you telling me this?"
"Because Cassian asked me to ensure you took care of her tonight since he won't be here to do it himself. It is your duty, after all, as her mate." Rhysand took off again, flying back to the home he and Feyre were staying in.
Her mate. The words replayed over and over again like a crescendo in a symphony. Her mate.
-
Nesta prepared a bath for her, pouring the scented oil and wine for both of them, and waited. Irelia froze at the door, already wrapped in a towel.
Nesta took a step back from the bath, sitting in the vanity chair. "I thought you needed something to help you relax. You don't seem okay lately."
She nodded. "Thank you." She moved toward the tub, stepping shamelessly out of the towel and into the warm water. Nesta was reading her romance novel while Irelina bathed. Her eyes locked on the sultry scene being painted for her between the two female love interests. Her thighs began to squeeze together occasionally, begging for friction.
Her eyes began to flick to the naked illyrian female. Her breasts were peeking above the water, bubbles hiding the toned body and curves below.
Nesta was desperate to touch her. To kiss her. To have her. "Your back looks sore," she stated. "Do you want me to come rub it?"
The scent in the air changed immediately. The lilac oil mixing with something slightly musky. "If you'd like to?"
Nesta swallowed that bit of fear in her bones, moving to the tub behind her and sitting with her legs in the warm water.
The steam in the room was thick as if it was adding to the tension between the two females. Nesta moved her wet dark hair over one shoulder and began rubbing her shoulders.  A soft moan had Nesta almost pausing before moving lower. "Cassian needs to give you a massage," Nesta joked.
"He tries," she laughed out. "He really does. But he gets distracted."
"I can see how." The words came out before Nesta could stop them. They hung in the air like magic. Lingering in their effect on both of them. Irelina turned between Nesta's legs, wet hands trailing her bare right calf.
"You can't say things like that, Nesta. Our self control with you is already low." She lifted Nesta's long left leg over her shoulder and trailed a few testing kisses up her calf. "There's so many things I long to do to you, Nesta."
The oldest Archeron sister's face had flushed. She pulled her dress up further exposing her legs, then her stomach, then her breasts until it was off and they were both laid bare to each other. "Show me," Nesta whispered. "Show me what you want to do to me."
So Irelina did.
-
Cassian could smell sex in his room the second the door opened. He knew one scent immediately. Pomegranate and currants, his wife. The other a vanilla spicy musk with touches of amber.
A familiar moan had him hard instantly as he moved mindlessly to the bathroom door.
The sight behind that door was heaven. Nesta had his mate laid out on the tile bathroom floor, her back arched as her hands tangled in Nesta's freed long hair.
Nesta had her head between his mate's thighs, tongue and mouth working her timidly but encouraged by each hair pull and breathy gasp. "Like that, Ness, please, fuck."
Cassian moved the chair Nesta had previously been in, drinking the wine that was opened straight from the bottle. Nesta looked up, seeing him and pausing, ripping a pleading whine to leave his wife's throat.
"Don't stop on my account," his voice was deep, laced with arousal as he watched Nesta. "Keep going, Ness. Unless you need me to show you how to make that pretty bird sing?"
Nesta's eyes grew dark at the offer. At the thought of learning how to draw the same noises from Irelina the way Cassian did. He smirked, moving to Nesta. He took one of his wife's beautiful legs, placing it over Nesta's shoulder, similar to how she had pulled Nesta apart earlier. "Do to her exactly what you want done to you, Ness."
So she did, sucking her clit into her mouth and licking that bundle of nerves.
"Fuck. Please?" Moans turned into whimpers as Irelina pulled Nesta's face further into her heat.
Cassian ran a long finger down Nesta's spine, feeling every bump and ridge. Memorizing every building muscle. Nesta hummed under his touch, sending vibration through his wife causing another crying moan. "Is this okay, Nesta?" She whined in response, arching up for Cassian. "What a beautiful little thing you are, sweetheart. We've wanted you for so long."
"So long," his mate moaned and confirmed.
-
Nesta woke up between two warm bodies, two sets of wings caging her in like weighted blankets of protection. She turned to her side and traced Irelia's Face and played with her lashes causing the other female to wrinkle her nose and pull her closer. "Did we hurt you?" Nesta shook her head at the sleepy tone from the other female. "This doesn't have to change anything between us, Ness. We can still just cuddle, read, and be friends."
Nesta swallowed thickly. "And if I want more? If I'm ready for more?"
"Then we're more," she whispered. "But he is part of the deal, so you two will need to work on your…. Current relationship."
"I don't know how."
She ran a hand through Nesta's hair. "Let him train you with me. Stop pushing him away. Talk to him. Cassian can be rough, but once those walls you two seem to fortify around each other melt and bend, you're both these soft creatures needing love and validation. Gentle understanding."
She pulled Nesta to her, kissing her lips softly. Nesta rolled them over carefully, a hand going to Irelia's Delicate wing, making her arch her back.
"Oh?" Nesta rose a brow. "I thought Feyre was kidding."
Irelia shook her head quickly. "Pretty serious. Watch." She watched as Irelina danced long limber fingers on the ridge of Cassian's wing. "Get on top of him. Take what's yours, dove. I know you want him back inside of you." She tugged that string, making Nesta gasp. "Shall we turn him to putty?"
Cassian woke up to Nesta on his already hard cock, riding as she kissing Irelina, whose pretty dripping cunt was just in reach of his happily awaiting tongue.
-
Azriel sat with his hands folded at the table as the three of them emerged one by one. The scent of it was overwhelming. The ridiculously pungent bond. The heavy scent of sex.
He rose a brow at Irelina, knowing the female would tell him everything shamelessly to draw jealousy out of him.. "Anything happen while we were gone? Anything I as Nesta's babysitter need to know about."
She rolled her eyes at him, forcing Nesta into her normal seat next to Cassian and taking the spot next to Azriel.
"You can join us next time if it makes you feel better, Spymaster." Cassian and Nesta's eyes both lit up. "Maybe I'll even let you beat me with a cane or hang me from the ceiling."
Nesta noticed how that immediately got Azriel's attention. His scarred hand flying to Irelina's neck. "You know better than to tease me, little bat." Azriel smirked at the shock on Nesta's face. "Welcome to the throuple, Ness. Excuse me while I go remind this pretty little thing who is actually in charge between the 3 of us." He took Irelina by her neck back up the stairs, whispering in her ear as he moved with her.
Cassian leaned back with a smirk. "Welcome, dove. Might want to start mentally preparing for that one."

Voyage into the Unknown Pt.4
Tumblr media
Master List Pt.3 - Pt.4 - Pt.5
Trigger warning- Minor verbal sexual harassment, general violence,
The travelling days are long and tedious, however riding with the dwarf princes is at least entertaining. The two share fantastic stories of their otherworldly life. Stories of icy kingdoms embedded into blue mountains, conflicts with elves and goblins, and travelling great adventures across the world. It makes my simple life seem quite insignificant. Eight days finally pass and the town of Bree can finally be spotted through the trees. A large stone wall surrounds the village. As we pass through the tall wooden gate and down the cobblestone streets, many human folk give us questioning looks. Gandalf leads the company through some smaller back-alleys in order to avoid the townspeople's snooping, before stopping at a small open stable connected to a larger building. Securing the horses the company makes their way inside, the Inn is relatively empty aside from a few drunk men asleep at the bar. “How can I be of service?” A fat, jolly looking man behind the bar smiles warmly at the strange company. Gandalf steps forwards “We need around uh- sixteen beds, just for tonight” The man nods and pulls out a book covered in scribbled writing “Well we can do- My attention drifts away as I survey the room, the dwarves also wandering off to explore. I join Dwalin, Oin, and Gloin who have put some of the tables together to create one long sitting arrangement. Plopping down in a chair my bum and thighs ache from the constant horse riding, I groan in discomfort kicking my bag under the table while pouting like a sook. Bofur sits down beside me, patting me roughly on the shoulder “Ow” I cry out, “Oh stop it woman, I barely touched ya” He laughs rubbing the spot he hit. I lay my head on the table and let out a whine, closing my eyes “Leave the lass alone she’s probably never roughed it like this before” Dwalin chides him before sitting across from me “We’ll get some food in ya, you’ll feel right then” he says pulling out a metal smoking pipe. Bofur sits down on my left and Thorin on my right, of course at the head of the table. A tap on my right hand causes me to look over at him “Some complications have arisen, you and I will share a room whilst the rest of the company will be split amongst two others, is this alright with you?” Thorin speaks quietly and I nod in response “Alright, I will inform the others” He wanders away to speak to each dwarf individually.
It feels like forever before a young woman comes and begins placing plates of food on the table “Here you are, I’ll just go grab the rest” lifting my head I see that the four plates have already been claimed, huffing I place my head back down ‘This is going to take forever’.
A tap on my head breaks me out of my self-wallowing and I look up to see Kili pushing over his plate from across the table “Here, you should eat first” he says. Unbeknownst to me, the surrounding conversation quiets down as the company tunes in.  “Are you sure?” I pout at the sentiment. Kili nods enthusiastically “Take it”. I hesitantly slide the plate in front of me “Thank you” I say and Kili smiles proudly. His brother patted him on the shoulder and Dwalin next to him nodded his head in approval. The stew is thick with juicy lamb and soft potatoes, smothered in a gravy like sauce. I sigh at the heavenly taste. As the company finally gets their meals and begins to dig in I just about finish mine, except for a small loaf of fresh bread and cheese.
Being completely stuffed, I pick up the loaf and cheese, and lean over the table shaking it at Kili. “You want it?” I offer, he looks up in surprise. “Me?” He points to himself and I roll my eyes “No, the other guy named Kili” He smiles widely, slightly red in the cheeks. He gently takes the food from me, rough hands brushing mine “Thank you” He says and I smile back. Loud cheers and laughter erupts from the company as they hit their jugs together, Fili smacking his brother’s shoulder roughly. The sudden loudness surprises me and I laugh along, pretending to understand as they begin to talk in another language around the table. I turn to Thorin giving him an awkward smile “I think I’d like to call it a night now” he gives me a raised brow before nodding and handing me the key ‘I’ll be up to join you shortly’. Getting up I grab my bag from under the table and head up the creaky wooden stairs, the drunken cheering can still be heard from the second floor. “Number 4?” I mutter to myself walking through the long hall. Finding the room I gently push open the door and peek inside. The room was small with two single beds next to each other. Across from the beds a small fireplace with a pile of wood on the side sits. A large empty metal drum sits in front of the fire. Before I can even wonder what it’s for the young curly haired woman from before bustles past me carrying a heavy bucket of water. “Sorry Miss can’t stop once I start” She says with a thick Welsh accent, pouring the water into the drum. “Nah s’alright mate, you need any help?” She nods, smiling gratefully “It’d save me the extra trip, come on, follow me then” She hurries past me down the other end of the hall. Quickly trotting after her, we walk down a small set of stairs and out a back door in the kitchen, grabbing an extra bucket on the way. The back streets are silent and dark, giving an eerie feeling to the atmosphere as we travel closer to the edge of town. “Here we are,” she says, coming to an old looking bore pump. “I’ll pump” I offer, placing the bucket underneath. “If you’re sure Miss, pump been giving me a hard time lately”. Grabbing the handle, and flexing my core, I pull it down heavily with my body weight, the old machine groaning as a blast of water falls out. Twice more and the first bucket is full. “Once more Miss, then I’ll set you free” she jokes, swapping the buckets out. Huffing from the exertion I grab the handle again, once, twice- “Evening ladies” a voice breaks the silence, causing the two of us to turn. Three tipsy men creep out of the shadows into the street's lantern lights. “Awfully cold to be out here by your lonesome, I’m sure we could find a way to warm yous up” He and his goon friends laugh, stumbling closer “Not interested mate” I snap firmly at them. The men ooh and laugh “This one’s got balls aye” He sauntered over to us “I’m sure I’ll be able to fix that though” He whispers, grasping my arm, the pungent smell of yeast flowing off his breath.
Swiftly, I grab his arm back, pulling him forward and bashing the top of my skull into his nose. Blood squirts violently from his nose as he clutches his face “Shit!” he yells, stumbling backwards. Pain spikes my head ‘Fuck that was a bad move’ I straighten myself out, blood dripping down my face. The greasy man picks himself up “You whore!” he yells, raising a lazy fist and charging. Side stepping out of the way, I grab his shirt and swing him into the metal pump with a loud crack, his body slumping onto the ground pathetically. Turning towards the other woman I smile at her triumphantly before an unexpected force hits the side of my head. Disoriented, I trip over, turning towards the other men. One stood in front, and the other younger one cowering behind him. The man swings his arm widely and I quickly duck underneath it before delivering an uppercut, throwing him on his ass. “Stay down!” I yell, before directing my attention to the last man standing, who hesitantly puts his fists up. I falsely charge at him, roaring as I hurl towards him angrily. He jumps back in fright before scampering away into the night. His friends, groaning and whining, pick eachother up off the ground and follow him, leaving me and the woman alone once again.
“By Gods that was impressive” she says, breaking me out of my trance. I turn to her, breathing heavily and heart pounding “I mean, are you alright Miss?” she smiles shamefully. I nod in response before grabbing the bore handle again and finally giving it one last pull, filling up the second bucket. “Let’s head inside before they come back” I say, the side of my face aches with a dull pain.
Making our way back into the room I thump the bucket down next to the drum, before walking over and flopping onto the furthest bed. “I’m sorry about what occurred tonight Miss, those wild folk can be a real nuisance when they come into town” “Wild folk?” I ask. “Yes, rangers Miss, they live in the wilds between towns, no laws out there” I hum in thought “I’ll keep that in mind”. The woman stands taking the two buckets with her “There, all ready for you Miss, you should wash up quick before your husband wants to hop in first”. I sit up to respond but she’s already left, closing the door behind her. Sighing, I stand and make my way over to the tub swishing my hand in the hot water. Quickly stripping off, I hop inside the drum, clearly not meant for bathing in, but maybe washing clothes in. I hastily rub the dirt off my body and rinse my hair, the developing bruise on my face and head aches. Once I’m more or less clean, I hop back out and dress in my long sleeve, cargo pants, and socks. A knock sounds from the door before it creaks open and Thorin enters “You left it unlocked?” he asks. “Apparently” I shrug, turning around and drying my hair, also hiding my bruised face. “The waters’ still hot if you want me to wait outside” I offer “That would be appreciated” He says.
As Thorin has his turn in the slightly too small tub, I sit on the ground across the door in the hall. Hiding my face behind my hand, as multiple company members walk past drunkenly and into their own room, giving me no mind. After some time, Thorin opens the door in a loose blue linen shirt and pants, he says nothing as I stand up and walk back inside, closing the door behind me and locking it. Thorin gently grasps my arm as I attempt to walk past him “You’re injured” he says, turning my hand over and inspecting my bruised and scabby knuckles. I laugh nervously “Ah, yeah, my hand slipped and I hit it into the- bedpost” I say, swinging my hair in front of my face. “Both hands?” he asks, definitely not believing me, “I’m clumsy?”
Thorin sighs, and gently touches my chin, turning my head to face him “Did your face slip also?” he asks unamused. I roll my eyes “I really don’t need your shit tonight Thorin” I huff, walking away and flopping on my bed. He follows, sitting at the end “At least let me inspect them”. I hesitate before sitting up. He scoots forwards, and takes my hands in his yet again. His rough fingers trace my knuckles gently “You won’t need stitches, but they should be wrapped to protect you from infection” he gets up and rummages through his pack before returning with two rolls of mostly white bandages and a smile vile. Thorin pours out some of the viscus liquid onto my knuckles, rubbing it in gently. The potion stings and smells strongly of honey and herbs. After wrapping both my hands, he directs his attention to my bruised temple and cheekbone, brushing my hair from my face. His hot breath fans across my face as he leans in to get a closer look. The lack of distance begins to make my cheeks burn, and my face feels hot. ‘Jesus I need help’ I think shamefully.
Before I can get too flustered, Thorin pulls back “Your face will heal fine, it’s just a bruise” I let out a heavy breath and nod in response. “Do you have any others?” He asks “I headbutted him” I stifle my grin. “Him?” he asks, concerned. I hum “Some ‘Wild-men’ harassed me and the owner's daughter, nothing I couldn’t handle though, you should’ve see them” I smile at him. He furrows his brows and nods in thought. “Let me look at your head” I tilt my head down in compliance, picking at my socks in boredom.
Thorin however, has come across an issue, touching your hair would be inappropriate given the nature of your relationship, but also given the obvious blooming affections his nephew has for you. And the apparent reciprocation of that interest by the mutual sharing of food. Thorin hesitantly lifts a section of hair, trying not to touch it as much as possible, and inspects the small bruise underneath. He continues to poke around the area, trying to get it done quickly.
“It seems you’ve gotten lucky this time” He states before rising from my bed “Next time you should take an escort however”. I look at him annoyed. “Luck has nothing to do with it, I’m just good at what I do” I praise myself, laying my head down on the squishy bed, and staring up at the ceiling. “And what is it that you do?” he asks inquisitively. I think about my wording before answering “I’ve trained in multiple forms of self-defense and hand-to-hand combat” I can hear him hum in approval “Good, we should still train you to use a proper weapon however, sword and bow” I yawn loudly “Yeah probably, but I think that’s tomorrow's issue aye” “Aye” he replies. I turn over and snuggle into the soft bed and scratchy blanket “Good night Thorin” “Good night” he mumbles back. I smiled to myself, ‘Perhaps he isn’t as big of a grumpy ass I thought he was’ I think to myself as I drift off into a deep slumber.

Isn't Being A Wicked Woman Much Better? Side Story Chapter 12
I also upload this chapter in my YouTube channel, read there to support my effort, to read click here👉Link
Yoon Do-hee, who passed by quickly as a child, had a much calmer and more mature face than I thought. She seemed to have atrophied somewhere.
Because it's not easy to assert yourself among selfish families.
Even if the other person behaves unfairly, it is difficult to resent or get angry, so I would rather yield and take a step back… .
The video of Yoon Do-hee's biography, which was flowing at thousands of times, was running towards the end that I knew.
I couldn't bear my anger and came out as if I was running away from home, and I got into a car accident... .
- After that.
-!!
Again, my view flipped, and I was thrown into a place I was terribly familiar with.
It was the living room of the house I lived in in a previous life.
***
“You, in Dohee’s name, don’t she have any insurance?”
“I’m looking for it right now, so don’t look at me and stay still. Dohee is a well-prepared girl, so she might have put something in it.”
'Wow. Fuk, They are really consistent people.'
I feel absurd before my life, my family… No, I looked at people like they are cattle.
I expected that they wouldn't sincerely commemorate my death due to their personality, but I'm sure they're trying to figure out how to get insurance money.
I can't come out without cursing.
Young-sook Jang, who looked like her mother, who was searching through Do-hee Yoon's belongings, frowned. What she carried was a thank-you letter and pamphlet from a donation organization.
“Do-hee, why did he donate 100,000 won a month to this fraudulent organization? You should have insurance or something.”
I was so shocked that I almost grabbed the back of my neck.
Hey, isn't there a scam group out there? What a famous children's foundation!
No matter how good I was, I would have donated every month to an organization I had never heard of because of my lack of money.
To be honest, it was a real scam that Ms. Jang Young-sook's friends' insurance encouraged her to buy this. The payment period is terribly long, and the conditions for compensation are strict.
I wanted to refute it because it was unfair, but I did not want to live as Yoon Do-hee again, so I quietly watched the situation.
“Not long ago, didn’t you even buy bike insurance just because you learned to ride a bike? By the way, how can you leave out Dohee's insurance in the midst of all that stuff?”
That's it.
“Then you guys are here! Why is it that the human being who has been arguing every day that the insurance fee is not worth it has come and didn't take out insurance!?”
Their conversation quickly escalated into a fight, and the younger brother in the room suddenly opened the door and came out screaming.
“ah! Don't you know I have a few days left for the exam? There is no soundproofing already, so it will be noisy.”
“Ah Dokyun. ...Mom quietly sorry, I'll do it.”
“Huh? Where do you come from, man, yelling? Man, give me your report card.”
Man-guk Yoon seemed to have a hard time dealing with the horned woman, Young-sook Jang, so she started catching the youngest son like a mouse, and when he saw his report card, she was furious.
“Did you even get this as a score!? Do you know how much money you get out of your tuition a month?”
“Ah-oh! Our house is the only house that is so fussy with only a million won tutoring fee!”
“Hey man! Your sister only listened to Lee Ingang, which cost 30,000 won, and went on to a prestigious university.”
“Ah, why is Dohee sister appearing all of a sudden? That older sister didn't look like her mom and her dad, so she had good brain.”
“What? This bastard!”
“My mother certainly did. Dohee sister also looks good, and she said she didn’t come out of your belly.”
At that moment, the first, Yoon Do-yeon, who was in the room, jumped out with the sound of the door being opened.
“what? 1 million won for tutoring?! Let's listen, let's listen, it's ridiculous and my nose is stuffed. Mom! I guess I only invested half of Yoon Do-kyun’s.”
“Auntie, get a job. She can't even get married until she's that age, and she plays and eats in the corner of her room. Preparing for public announcement, honestly, isn't it?”
“hey! Do you want to go backwards? You bastard like a pig's foot!”
“Yoon Do-yeon! Why throw that expensive thing!”
Watching the cockroaches fighting while throwing even a catch, I was terrified inside.
'I fight to become a real powder.'
I thought that the makjang family was not called the soybean flour family for nothing.
By the way, the situation didn't go to extremes like that usually, but when I think about it, when those humans start fighting, I was the one who stopped them in the middle.
I used to close my mouth when I ordered chicken or jjajangmyeon after fighting hard.
'It's too late.'
But when there was no one to stop them, they fought and fought until neighbors reported the noise to the police. It was a mass of waste itself.
Shortly thereafter, they received a notice from the landlord asking them to leave the house. Complaints came from all directions, and it was a natural result, as there was a mess in the corners of the room and even the veranda.
“What, it’s too narrow!”
And since the rent price has risen, they have had no choice but to move to a smaller house.
“We don't have Do-hee Yoon, so I’m only now getting my own proper room, but how can I live in a house like this from now on? Aren't you all in my room this time?”
Looking around the two-room house, Yoon Do-yeon was very annoyed.
“Do you know how hard it was to rent this house? Even the pocket money you used to get every month is now bending our backs! Do-hee added even a penny while working part-time to a household that was still not there, but this guy didn't even get a job and was just irritable!”
“Since when did my mother take care of Yoon Do-hee? Suddenly you say every time, Do-hee! Do-hee! Honestly, does mother have the right to say that? She didn't have insurance, so things got really complicated!”
“What? Is it my fault?”
“Then who is to blame for all this?”
“Hey! You get out of my house!!”
“why me? If you give birth, take responsibility!”
They uttered abusive language to the point where the onlookers got tired of it, and they always blamed each other. It was Abigail.
'There is no other hell.'
The tension that even that Lucifer sticks out his tongue.
In the meantime, my father picked up some strange information and came to hear it, and he pulled up a third financial loan and invested it in the operating owner and threw it all away.
“What? how much do you blow How could you be that old and still immature? it's crazy?”
First Lady Jang Young-sook slapped Yoon Man-guk on the back and made a fuss.
“Did I just say good sleep? Didn't this happen after trying to make you and your children live in a big and comfortable house without worrying about money?”
“No power? I'm foolishly deceived to throw money Don't make excuses for us! You're a bum!”
“An excuse?! Had I been there, would I have entered such risky stocks with a straw hat? If it were him, he would have gone to a large company, but how reassured I must have been! Why am I the only one working in this every corner? How come there are only carnivores!”
“What!? Insects? Who eats the food provided by such insectivores!?”
“What’s the point of savoring and eating a tasteless curry for a week?”
“hey! Yoon Man-guk! Don't campaign with a monthly salary that's the size of a rat's tail! All of my friends' husbands are now responsible and moved. You're the only one who babbles! know?!”
“This woman! sudden!”
“Hit it! hit it! And stamp it!”
Rather than getting a divorce, screaming, the situation is getting worse and worse, but I got into this situation. No one was trying to hang up. We just blame each other.
‘And how come you seem to be looking for me more than before? '
Whenever they fight, I get goosebumps when I see Yoon Do-hee's name being mentioned and criticizing and demeaning each other. How long were you planning to eat your back?
'They are all people who don't want to see the real thing.'
nothing more to see No one was trying to bring the finale to life. We just blame each other.
nothing more to see Just as the finale of the play was clear, their future was also clearly visible.
Since Yoon Man-guk borrowed the money from the debentures, the real hardship door has been opened. In the future, there will be no reason to fight like that.
'To pay off debt.'
They will soon realize the fear of loan and welfare, and they will blame each other for the rest of their lives, chasing only money.
***
- It's self-sufficient.
Thought body looked at the family and evaluated them coldly, and I let out a short sigh with a vague feeling.
- Deborah, you don't have to be complicated. You only reap what you sow. Isn't it pleasant? Those people sacrificed you and oppressed you to get my greed.
-… It's crazy to do it I should have realized sooner that those humans were irresistible.
In the name of family, I of a previous life had endured them too long.
Well, I have to regret it, but it's all in the past.
-!
That was then. The background changed again, and this time the familiar college campus background unfolded.
In April, when spring came, the pink cherry blossoms were fluttering like snow, and the students gathered together, laughing and chatting happily.
There was no room in my heart, so at that time the scenery passed by quickly.
For some reason, I thought it would be my last chance to capture the scenery of my previous life so vividly, so I looked around carefully.
As I glanced around the places where I once devoted my 20s youth, but now there is not even a faint feeling left, I ran into familiar faces. They were the same architecture, classmates and juniors.
They were sitting around the lawn with the delivery food in the middle, chatting.
"This was a lecture note that Dohee senior lent me, but I couldn't repay it properly. "
Suddenly, the name of Yoon Do-hee came out of someone's mouth and I swallowed my breath.
I didn't even go to the department MT well because I was doing part-time work and homework at the same time. I thought you didn't know my name well because it was so cheesy.
