Commission for @ju_draakje Their Pathfinder character: an Oread Brawler named Ohvos.

Ohvos is mostly stoic, observant and slow to act, but when they do they are hard to stop. They prefer to stun and cripple their foe over actually killing them, but if needs must they will absolutely kill. They believe all living things to be part of a whole, and everything has a place and a time. they fight 100% unarmed and use their flexibility in combat to move around and make sure opponents don't get as many opportunities to attack as they normally would.

11.03.21 //March bujo set up//

Hi! Yesterdays I did some bujo spreads. There is only have one bujo spread left to decor (meal log spread) . Also I watched a documentary called "Cowspiracy" which talos about all the facts that the companies have been and still being hiding about the metano and water thay the cattle raising means...

Lately I wasn't readind and studying french. I have to return the reading with "Radio Silence" and "Big magic" and do some french anti flashcards uwu

Hello friends! ヽ(・∀・)ﾉ

My name is Dante and I'm a 2nd year university student from the United States. I’ve decided to finally start my own studyblr after lurking for about a year or so haha. I hope that being active on this blog helps me stay on top of things and lets me meet some cool and interesting friends along the way!

some stuff about me---

✧ I’m 18 years old

✧ genderfluid !! I tend to steer towards masculine pronouns but I'm cool with anything tbh :D whatever vibe you get from me is fine

✧ Cancer + INTP + Slytherin (ayeeee)

✧ Fluent in English and Spanish. Tried learning French a while back and failed miserably (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ but I just might try to pick it back up along with Japanese further down the road

✧ honestly this is MOSTLY a studyblr, but also sort of a personal blog because I am a mess. Will mostly try to post studying tips/self-care/notes/the occasional rant .

✧ a big nerd into anime/manga, comics, netflix, and all kinds of books. My favorite genres are horror/thrillers, action, slice of life, and urban fantasy. Send me some recs any time!

✧ Currently double majoring in health and society/human biology with a certificate in pre-health professions. Also kind of considering a minor in gender and sexuality studies??

on the academic side--

✧ I really love science, it’s the reason I came to college in the first place! Although I'm not a fan of math tbh :/ I’ve always been a hard STEM subjects kinda guy but I've grown to love liberal arts subjects as well! Philosophy, mythology, sociology, and anthropology are right up my alley :D

✧ I started off college on a pre-medical track, but after some academic mishaps on my part (lmao oops (; ω ; ) ) I’m kind of debating whether I should really go to medical school after finishing my bachelor’s, or if I’d be happier pursuing something in the social sciences?? Idk at this point

✧ My research interests are mainly in genetic engineering, epidemiology, social stratification, and the health disparities experienced by minorities in healthcare. So hmu if you ever wanna talk the culture of healthcare in America and all that good stuff *fingerguns*

✧ Not gonna lie, I haven’t been the best student in the past and my academics suffered because of it. I lost a lot of my motivation for school but !! I’m trying really hard to get myself back on track

✧ My current focus is on recovering myself academically as well as improving my mental health

✧ Long-term, I think my career aspirations are still either a physician, a social scientist/researcher, or a college professor?

why the studyblr??--

✧ I enjoy the work ethic a lot of the people in the community have and find it inspiring!

✧ I really need some accountability in my life and I feel like having this blog will help I, the perpetual procrastinator, get my shit together (´• ω •`) somehow.

✧ I really hope to make friends!! :D I love talking to people and learning from others as well. Feel free to talk to me about school, fandoms, anything really !

some extra stuff--

✧ I have a pitbull puppy named Bella that I love more than life itself so I'll probably post about her on here too (lol)

✧ Currently really into my hero academia, mob psycho 100, tokyo ghoul, haikyuu !!, blue exorcist, land of the lustrous, saint for rent, & banana fish. watching the good place, the chilling adventures of Sabrina, and the haunting of hill house

✧ I listen to rock, rap, indie and lo-fi

✧ I use emojis a lot (´｡• ω •｡`) I started using them ironically but, uh (´ ∀ ` *) now I can’t stop haaaaaa

Workshop :some romani and croquis papers ,my drawing board ,T rule , a pencilcase of course,my tool box and a plans folder

Theory : a dictionatory, my respective study books, my pencilcase, 2 folders and my communitations notebook uwu

useful college tips

requested by @cl0udlessdays ☁️

i’ve wanted to do a big college help post for a while so hopefully this helps !

a small note that this is from my personal experience from studying in college in sg ! studying methods varies for people so you could add on to it if something helps you !

🌱 reframing your mindset

this is probably the most important part because if you dont have the proper attitude to study, its hard to do well. everyone can say they want to do well but not everyone can set their mind to do so. be that person !

i told myself i would cut down on social media and hang out sessions so that i can really focus on schooling. this step is really important for people like me that gets distracted easily.

⏰ as soon as possible

do your work and revise asap!! try to review your content within 3 days from your lectures !

when work piles up, you would feel even more stressed and defeated so DO THAT WORK !

✏️ do your hw but dont do everything !

honestly, the workload from college is crazy and if you try to do everything, you are going to burn out really quickly. definitely try your best to do your work, at least the most important bits if you are really struggling.

🗣 be vocal in class

try to answer questions when your tutor poses a question. it might be embarrassing if you get it wrong but at least it will result in a mental note to go over that detail in revision ! it helps you stay focused and engaged in class which helps to cut so much extra revision time !

ask your tutor questions asap ! it’s always hard when starting out and i always thought “what is there to ask??” but the more you try to generate questions, the more natural it is.

📖 revision breakdown

focus on your weaker subjects and topics from the beginning of the year because you will need more time with them to improve. ( dont neglect revision for the rest though ) make sure you have gone through your content at least two to three times before exams !!

content revision should be mostly completed by prelims before study break definitely !! make time for practice papers !

📒start a bujo

if you fail to plan, you plan to fail

i used mine to plan my study schedule ! i struggled a lot with studying in the past because i relied on my mood to study. if im feeling depressed, i just feel bad for a day and do nothing which makes me feel even worse. i relied on periodic spurts of productivity that comes like once in a while.

when i started planning my study schedule, i am able to study more consistently instead and make enough time for every subject

📕keep a journal

this is to write all your goals and aspirations.

to chart your improvement in school, after every test or study session.

to sort your feelings out so that you can clear your mind to study.

to write in when you feel like you are distracted from your original path so that you can note it down and try to focus again. ( usually me after fic binging days )

🏝 sacrifices will be made

in college, i really didnt have much of a social life so i had enough for revision. i still indulged in things i liked once in a while as a tried but your focus should be on studying if you want to do well !!!

DONT EVER SACRIFICE YOUR SLEEP !

😴 sleep is important

some of us may say sleep is for the weak but not true ! having enough sleep is important to recharge you so that you can have productive study sessions !

📵 lay low on social media

on my second year, i had all my social media ( other than studyblr ) deleted. its really disrupting to see other friends having a life when you are mugging and trust me, that time feeling terrible can be used on something more productive.

🍃 have a study buddy

if u dont trust yourself that much in staying focused throughout a whole study day, study with a good study buddy !!  usually more productive with only one person but groups might work out with the right people

🖋 practice

 taking the time to consolidate is important but solely reading ur notes wont necessarily get you good grades ( esp in college ) !! practice writing out the content with syllabus, practice papers etc and review to see what you need to improve on !!

🧘🏻‍♀️take breaks

 this is actually so important but quite overlooked !! you need to satisfy yourself to stay motivated !! you need rest and energy to feel functional enough to study !! try to not take phone breaks because its hard to go back to studying.

i find exercising as a break really nice !!

💦 discipline over motivation

this is a valuable lesson that studyblr has taught me. motivation is less sustainable as a reward must be present and in the case you do not have enough self control, this method will cease to be useful. discipline, however, can help you to remain productive and on task consistently
