i was thinking of ghost of tsushima and then remembered another franchise with 'assassins' in japan - sengoku basara. an its around the time of ezio's era. just something interesting to share. especially since shinobi of that era have clans that serve a lord - and there was one that her clan to serve her enemy lord. the looks when there is a group of assassin's that don't have/serve a lord.
… Nonny…
I love Sengoku Basara.
It’s so over the top and they just keep going.
I can just see Desmond going…
What.
What???
WHAT.
But, in all seriousness, if we’re going for a Sengoku Basara crossover, Ezio’s time would be the nearest (the Sengoku era technically from 15th to 16th century but Basara fuck everything up by putting the ‘main’ characters as adults around the same time period) so this could be a case of Desmond getting knocked smack in the middle of Sengoku Basara during 3’s story (known as Samurai Warriors when localized) because 3 has an English translation and it’s set between the fight between the Western and Eastern army.
This gives Desmond a more muddied place to be in because both armies sorta have dubious reasons to be considered as the ‘right’ side… sorta.
Plus, this takes Oda and Hideyoshi out of the picture, both clear ‘villains’ (although an argument could be made for Hideyoshi… sorta)
Also, this gives me an excuse to mess with Desmond’s reason for being here.
Because when he wakes up, he’s in a bed of red spider lilies and there’s a woman crying by his side. When he gets up, she calls him “Brother” and tells him that “Ichi will be good. Ichi will do as brother says.”
And Desmond is confused but also worried because it was clear that the woman (Ichi? Was her name Ichi?) was not in her right mind.
She believes he’s her brother and she has shadowy hands that come from the ground around her and…
He has no idea where he is.
Before he can get his bearings, they get attacked by an army that was passing the abandoned village they were in because they’re on their way to the next battle and it’s the Western Army so Yoshitsugu’s there and he knows just how valuable the woman with Desmond is. And Desmond just runs with Ichi because it was clear that all these weaponry is agitating the shadow hands and he doesn’t know enough to know if killing them would be a good thing.
By the end of it, Desmond is now a fugitive because he’s ‘harboring’ the last remaining Oda to the Western Army which got misunderstood as ‘kidnapping’ to the Eastern Army.
At this point, Desmond just wants to get out of here because (1) there were so many weird things happening and Desmond’s thought that maybe Ichi had a POE or ‘consumed’ a POE no longer holds any weight because everyone has powers and shit AND (2) he learned that this is around Ezio’s era so he wants to find Ezio and ask for his help about all these?
He takes Ichi with him because Ichi is a grenade and it was clear Desmond is the one holding the pin (he has no idea why???) and… yeah… he truly did want to help her.
But he is being hunted by everyone else.
Unorganized Notes:
Ichi (Oichi) sees Desmond as her brother but she never, not even once, called her ‘Nobunaga’ so it’s unclear if she sees him as Nobunaga or not. If this was in Japanese, she would be calling him ‘Onii-sama’ even though she calls Nobunaga ‘Nii-sama’ which is meant to hint that she actually doesn’t see Desmond as Nobunaga and thinks of him as someone of higher standing than Nobunaga. I don’t really know how to translate that to English though unless I start writing this with specific Japanese words…
Desmond gets powers (holy shit) and related to shadows and being able to teleport short distances for assassination (aka: Basim's teleporting assasinations). In Desmond's eyes, it feels like he's glitching to the next target, but to the eyes of everyone else, it's like he appears as a puff of black smoke and shadow-like tendrils leave his target for a few seconds. (whether this is connected to Ichi calling him 'brother' is questionable)
You can totally pair Desmond with anyone in Sengoku Basara. His relationship with Ichi is meant to be on the side of familial, as siblings or even Desmond taking on a sorta parental role.
The plot twist is that Ezio actually sails to Japan around the time Desmond actually gets a way to leave Japan (maybe by making a deal with Motochika?). He has no idea why everyone has powers but he will reunite with Desmond later on and they would realize that the Japan that Ezio knows about is definitely not the Japan they’re in. To be more exact, Ezio comes from the AC world like Desmond but, when he sailed to Japan, he was transported to Sengoku Basara’s Japan. They start to believe that their connection is what led Ezio to Desmond.
This becomes all the stranger when Ezio actually gets to Sengoku Basara by shipwreck and all he remembers is the ship he was in was sailing through a terrible storm. That clues Desmond into realizing Ezio was on his way to Masyaf.
If anyone is gonna take a side, it’s gonna be Ezio and Desmond would just go with it because he trusts Ezio.

While Lottie does have a small reserve of magic that makes the possibility of Overblotting very miniscule (she is a Medium and séance's do require some magic to preform), I like to imagine that her Overblot Form would have similarities to Oichi in the later Sengoku BASARA games.
Her Phantom is a series of "arms" that hold her limp and lifeless body up like a doll (she'd crumple to the ground without their support). The "hand" holding up her head is the "main hand", one with the Magestone attached to it, but it can't stop the way her head rolls around like it's going to fall off her neck with even the slightest of pushes. Each "hand" holding up a limb will take turns fighting off "enemies". With the exception of her closest friends, she can only view the people around her as things like birds and flowers, if they're lucky to not be viewed as concepts like "light" and "shadow". You get the sense that she's not exactly all there, like her mind has already departed to the Great Hereafter when she sings ominous songs about vast fields of flowers dying while mowing down her friends and classmates like how a hot knife cuts into butter. Lots of tear stain imaginary, at times it's hard to tell what's supposed to be a tear and what's ink running down her face. She apologizes a lot, but you can't tell if she's speaking to her fallen peers or something far worse that the average person can't even begin to fathom.
I wouldn't say she'd be extremely powerful in an Overblotted state, but definitely a difficult one to defeat with how closely her Phantom clings to her. It knows that without her it wouldn't even exist, so it protects it's Mage like a wild dog protects it's kill from opportunistic adversaries.

because the next gudaguda event is coming up soon, i wanna say that I would for one think that Oichi would be an excellent choice for a future gudaguda villain.
Like yeah what she’s most remembered for is marrying Nagamasa Azai, but we have one of her daughter (Cha-Cha) and we’ve fought her husband (Shibata), so it would be interesting.
Like, think of it, watching her sister burn the world for some mad ambition, having to sacrifice her own happiness twice for that ambition, seeing her younger brother die at the hands of that sister, I’m thinking FGO can make a very interesting tragic villain out of Oichi.
Just, like, imagine the very end; Chaldea help Nobunaga beat her sister’s forces and then Oichi is sitting on the ground, bleeding...and asks Nobunaga to come closer. She’s done, she’s defeated, she just wants to be with her family before fades away.
...and when Nobunaga comes close enough, Oichi grabs her by the throat, looks her dead in the eye, and seethes “For all you’ve taken from me, for all the worthless battles you waged, I hope you burn in hell, Oda Nobunaga.”
And Nobu, who always had a hard time understanding people, has absolutely no trouble recognizing the sheer glut of hate in her younger sister’s eyes. Her sister whom she married off to a soft hearted general to keep happy, who’s children she spared, who’s life she ruined. Hate, nothing but unfiltered hate.
....I just think Oichi would be a neat addition alright???

♡LIFE♡
Past Life/Backstory:
Tw: God, Religion , Abuse
Hanabe Hanako, was born into Kanazawa church
accidently. There had been talk that a farm boy and a nun
were having relations outside of the churches walls, yet there
was no proof of this ever happening. Surprisingly Hanako was
a rather malnourished child, making the nun who carried her
appear small. The nun was no longer able to hide her sin, and
instead of wanting her, she had a secret birth, leaving the
child on the steps of the church. A priest by the name of Ito
Had taken her in. There she would start her new life at church.
Hanako worked diligently at the church, it proved to be hard
work and what she couldn't make up in labor , she made up in
her classes. For a long time, Hanako struggled with her sense
of self, often bullied by neighboring children, you see
Hanako's eyes were a strange unnatural red, and when the
light hit it had almost appeared purple. The lack of pigment in
her eyes made it a struggle for her to see properly, the kids
often would tease her for this, in result of her even
attempting a truce would result in the delinquents locking
her dark and enclosed spaces. Hanako never found solace here always feelings as of she were a burden to society, the orphans at the church had more of a family than she, if only she knew the rumors of a random farm boy were not true, her father had always been close by.
Since Hanako was born out of wedlock, her father drifted into insanity praying to God that he would forgive him for giving into his urges. He had her mother Killed at a Young age and raised her as if she were an orphan of the church, the thing is her father wasn't just a priest, he was a scientist, who often would run tests on sinful children/adults there. His attempt was to purify each person of their sins, he thought that by adding holy water to their blood would purify them, but each person would get sick and die within weeks. Hanako always felt it strange that growing up kids would go missing, once she turned 18, she had wondered what happened to the adults that been there. At this point she was ready to take her oaf into becoming a nun, until the day she met a boy on her way from running errands. The two exchanged smiles and talked, you could say this was Hanako's first love. She began to sneak out from the church, hiding notes in herbal packages she would make. Their love began to blossom. One day during prayer her father noticed Hanako had not been there and in his frustration left to find her. She was holding hands with the male who had caught her heart. This triggered Mr. Ito, not wanting his daughter to be unpure, Hanako had no clue the priest had been watching her, and once they kissed, he sprinted into action dragging her away from him. The boy fought for her as much as he could, and even though the priest forbade them to ever see each other, she still attempted to sneak out, until the very night he stopped showing up in their usual spot. There was only one clue that had been left which pointed to the priest.
In her own curiosity she found out that the priest had been her father(snooping around his office when he was not there), but once he had found out in his own rage locked her in the morgue. once he knew what to do with her he conducted every and any type of experiment that could rid her of such impurity. Eventually killing her in the process.
Hanako treads lightly in the world of the living and the dead. When she awakes, she is in Shinagawa but 5 feet under in a grave, with little to no oxygen she claws herself out. She has no memory of her past life.
She finds herself in Shinagawa. Her body all mangled and torn her health is ofc still delicate. As she is unaware that she's been dead for years.
She finds herself eventually at the foot of a manor.

Positive and Negative Traits:
Tw: small mention of dead things
Hanako has always had an interest for gardening, her skills
improving the years she lived at church. She always found
solace hidden behind different flora and would often count the
dew drops in which dropped on petals. Her attention to detail
and keen sense of nature allows her to attain the knowledge
she needed to specialize in herbal care. When she is not pulling
weeds and watching seeds germinate, she is singing, her
knowledge on music is Farley limited as she was not exposed to
music prior the 50s You can say she has a "refined" taste. Her
voice is as soothing as sweet honey, though catching a glimpse
of it could be rare. She has a keen sense to her, and a love and
passion for things she finds beautiful. Where there is light
there is darkness, Hanako can tend to be a bit of a chore, as
asking her for help outside of her skills can prove as difficult.
Her illness prevents her from doing a lot of physical activities
for a lot. Hanako's interest in the macabre can also come as a
scare to most as she is a bit desensitized to dead things.
