HELLO I SURVIVED!! my voice is extremely fucked up from screaming and my legs hurt but i’m alive!! i feel like there’s so much stuff i need to ramble abt so i’m just gonna write a fuckin essay here lmao i’m so sorry 😭

ok so the stage looked SO cool in person. the backdrops were gorgeous <3 and everything was like a physical prop, not projections… including the giant replica of bubbles the dog <3 pete kept pretending to put his hand in its mouth and patrick was singing to it! and the pyro was insane, i could feel the heat from it and i was Not super close to the stage. they Also had a clock on the side of the stage that would go backwards every so often… like going back in time to play older songs 😭

UM?!?! THAT SETLIST?!?!?! ginasfs was NOT a possibility in my head at all, so that was absolutely insane, my god!!! everyone was like “???” after pete said they’d never played it live. and then it started and my brain literally blacked out. like my only thought was “there’s no way this is happening, what the FUCK”. that song is so important to me and honestly was one of the first ones i remember loving when i got into fob, so that was a whole moment!! if there’s a different song every time that’s so scary, i SO hope u get the song u want if that’s the case! <333

“don’t forget who left the light on 20 years ago” had me tearing up and then all the tttyg stuff… fob wants us all dead fr! and THEN HEAVEN IOWA?! AND HEADFIRST SLIDE?!?!?! i was HOLLERING the whole time, my throat still hurts 💀 and FAKE OUT OMG WHERE DO I EVEN START 😭 the pink lights worked and it looked so pretty!!! it took some ppl a minute to get theirs set up, so the stadium kinda gradually lit up more and more and by the middle of the song it was fully lit! i swear i saw the exact moment where patrick realized what was going on and he smiled so big <3 i teared up so hard (was trying not to cry bc i had glitter on my face lol… i kinda cried anyway) and then pete gave us a shoutout! i’m def keeping my seashell on like… my wall or smth <3

also the covers!! that first song patrick did at the piano is lake shore drive, it’s actually what he was playing in that tiktok of him in the studio back in like… february! (it’s the piano thing right after the clip of him playing trumpet) my mom recognized it when i was watching that video originally and asked why he was playing it, so i already knew the song… was Not expecting it live tho 🤯 and then don’t stop believing?!?! we were all v confused but excited lmao… and then crazy train a bit later 😅

and pete did baby annihilation!! honestly when i said he could do it and i’d cheer, i did NOT expect him to actually do it lmaoo… but he did and it was fantastic!! hold me like a grudge was also incredibly fun, it goes so hard live <3 shoutout to the ppl who were doing the clapping during the bridge w me lol

every time patrick started talking he’d go “hi” in this soft voice and i was just like “HIIIII 🥺” AND HE WORE DOC MARTENS!!! AAAA 💓 he was so sunshiny and just skipping around like usual <3

OH ALSO!! idk what the other venues on this tour are like, but wrigley has this thing above the stage where they have a couple different flags, and all except one of them were changed out to be the smiley face logo!! it reminded me of when they planted their flag in the lftos music video and i got emotional looking at it 😭 like. they did it!! and it’s so obvious they’re excited to be doing all this!! ur gonna have an absolute blast at your show for Sure!

(the openers were fucking amazing too, i totally didn’t process that tai was playing until literally right before they came onstage. and then they covered snakes on a plane and were like “iykyk” and i very nearly died lmao)

ohhhhh my god it sounds like it was such a fantastic like. incredibly special concert, i'm so happy for u!!! the setlist and the set itself literally blew my mind as i was watching a livestream of the show like????? my god they really pulled out ALLL the stops while also keeping the classics on there, really a setlist to please Everyone i think?? also w the set like. all the animatronic stuff and different backgrounds and everything. patrick was Not kidding when he said this show was visually different than anything they'd ever done before i am. SOOOO impressed. actually both by that and the stardust project, i remember something similar happened for mania tour and it was really pretty (kept my cutouts and still have them!!!) so im VERY glad it's happening this time for fake out <333 they deserve to see all of our love in every way possible <333

1. Okay so first off Valkyrie Cain from the Skulduggery Pleasant books needs to be on the list. I started reading the books when I was 12, and she was everything I needed to see from a girl when I was that age: she was funny and strong and her entire life wasn’t revolving around men (like most of the other YA fiction of the time.) ALSO as both myself & the character have aged it’s been so helpful for me to see this character that I idolised as a kid go through mental illness and addiction which were things I suffered with terribly for years as a teen, and I found so much comfort in that.

2. Naomi Jones from I Hate Suzie also needs to be on this list because I feel like that character is just a version of my irl self put straight to screen. Always trying to be in control, always acting the mother and caring for other people who are falling apart, and not taking any time to focus on herself, and her own needs and wants. Also it’s so nice to see a bisexual on screen who has sex, and is a sexual being in a way that doesn’t feel gross or portrayed through some male lens that isn’t accurate or kind.

3. Britta Perry from Community!!!! Okay I know a lot of people reallly don’t like her and I get why. But I so relate to her early on, when she desperately wants to do good things and work for charity and be this shiny kind figure, but finding it difficult and expensive and just hard. It’s so easy to be charitable if you’re rich, it’s so hard to be generous when you don’t have much to give in the first place.

4. OK DOCTOR WHO CHARACTERS. Donna fucking Noble. If I had watched Doctor Who for the first time as an adult, she would definitely be my favourite character. I know this character, I’ve met so many people just like Donna. So funny and absolutely brilliant who just have no awareness of it because life and other people have always kicked them down.

5. Alright. You guessed it. It’s Rose Tyler. I think the reason I still love this character so much is what she meant to me as a kid. I lived on a council estate, I didn’t feel especially smart or brilliant, and I didn’t really have much ambition because I didn’t really know what success even looked like in reality. That she was this kind of classic “chavvy” noughties girl who got jealous and petty but was also funny and clever, and so so good with emotional intelligence—that meant so much to me.

But it was there and it's gonna live in my head rent free for the next full calendar year, also Moonbin and Eunwoo's falsettos??? GOD everyone sounds so great in this song. ONE: my ONE opinions have Grown and Matured over the course of listening to it quite literally like 75 times. Do not be mistaken, I never disliked it, but I did have Certain Opinions. For example, it is a Certified Fact that I have stated before: an Astro Title Track is not an Astro Title Track without MJ throwing up Angel High Notes above the last chorus. And when I listened to ONE for the first time I was not satisfied in that department. He did like, A Few, but I was waiting for more to come and like picturing in my head what it was going to sound like and then they didn't come and I was Mildly Disappointed. So that was just one thing that like, I wanted a little more than what I got, which does not mean that I didn't like what I did get!!! Anyway, after listening to it Many More Times and paying close attention to harmonies and such I am a bit more satified with the ad-libs he did get, it's just that this song is Different than other Astros Title Tracks, it is a different style so I guess what they gave him fits more with that style than what I was expecting (still wish he had gotten to shine a little more in this Title but what are you going to do?) It could very well be the 'you listened to this song so much you are tricking yourself into liking it more' thing, but my love for this song has definitely grown in the past few days (and again!! I never disliked it in the first place!) it is still not one of my top faves on the album but that's only bc Astro are B-side Kings! I still do really like this song

Omg when I tell y'all I got a rush of serotonin when I heard that...) another thing I absolutely adore about this song is the 'ah-ahhh, ah-ahhh' part bc it makes my brain do the same thing as when it sees an optical illusion where the thing I'm seeing switches back and forth based on what I'm focusing on like 'oh, now I see a vase, oh now it's two faces' that except with sound (so an aural illusion I guess is what that would be??) Like 'oh, that's Human Voices making that sound' but then if I focus on it it sounds like an Electronic Phone Buzzing Text Notification Sound (and then I focus on it again and it's Voices) which is probably what was intended considering it's a song named after texting? I just think that's so cool, I love that they did that and it sounds really Neat

Like, actually taking the time to figure out if Im writing a fic because I want to or because I w ant other people to like it. I recently wrote something (its a special secret) and I went back and forth on a specific detail bc it made me happy but I was worried other people wouldn't like it and then I just stopped caring. If it makes me happy, why does it matter if its popular or not

Do you read your own fic?

Sometimes. I read it when I do edits and sometimes I go back and re-read things but mostly the second hand embarrassment kills me too much lol

Do you do research for your fics? What’s the deepest dive you’ve done?

I usually dont! I like to fly in blind with most of what I write. Occasionally if I reference a movie in a fic, I like to watch it. The only fic Ive done research for is the road trip exes to friends to lovers Muke. I did a deep dive to see what art exhibit was at the museum in 2019. Because you know, someone was gonna fact check me. I also looked up things to do in TN. That was fun

What is a headcanon you have about your own work?

Oh loads. I'll give you the highlights for the three big ones:

Bar AU: Luke and Ashton get "married" in 2000, but obviously its not legal. They get real married once gay marriage in the US is legalized and use it as an excuse to throw a party and get gifts. Luke becomes an English teacher and Ashton continues to work in music

Stardust: Lashton get married. Of course they do. Except they're the kind of couple that one goes to propose and the other goes YOU CANT DO THAT I WAS GOING TO PROPOSE FIRST and so they argue over who can propose first. They get married in Wall, and Ashton's mom and siblings go to the wedding. They get a puppy that is also immortal because Luke loves Petunia very much. Also, another headcannon I never mentioned in the fic is that the 1D boys are also semi-immortal? they age slowly bc of the love Calum and Luke have for them.

Lingerie verse: This one is tricky cause so many of the headcannons end up in the fic series. I guess, I think about Luke and Ashton coming out sometimes. Once they start dating they go back and forth on how to come out and when and what to do. And then Ashton slips up and kisses Luke on stage and they go, oh yeah we're dating. I think Luke comes out officially in an interview when they discuss being non-binary and the support from everyone allows them to start posting like OOTD looks for their dresses and makeup. I also think they post a lovely photoset of when they get married in their backyard and then more photos when they get married with their families. Both photosets include a photo of them with cake on their faces laughing, Malum kissing them both, and Ashton carrying Luke bridal style around the area

Name one of your fave comfort fics (doesn’t have to be your all time fave)

Of my own fics, it's I set boundaries . I adore that fic and I read it sometimes when I'm feeling down. It makes me feel loved, even if it's my own fic. Of others, It's either Puzzle Pieces because I like reading the part where they all touch. I like reading Muke's elbow bump and when Ashton finally feels comfortable enough to teach them. It's sweet and I adore it.

Oikawa’s character is something that has been commonly misunderstood in the fandom, and that is a fact, and no I am not attacking anybody, but it’s just so refreshing to see works like Stardust and Nebula perfectly capture and give justice to a character as complex as Oikawa’s.

The way Stardust was written when it first came out, every single time I reread it— it never fails to make me think. And for that to happen after I read is pretty fuckin amazing. Don’t get me wrong I love reading little moments and just being in my feelings in general but to stumble upon work like Dei’s is honestly such a gift.

As a young adult, both Stardust and Nebula perfectly puts into words everything I knew I somehow felt but never formulated the words or even thought for. You know when you read a specific line and then get that zing moment where you’re just like, shit this is it. That’s how I felt reading those two stories. And I know for a fact that you will relate to it too.

Everything about it from the plot, to the dialogue (i fuckin LOVE the dialogue), the characterization (!!!!!!! ESP THE CHARACTERIZATION), the imagery, references, lesson, and just the atmosphere you fall into when you read is just ndjenddbsjendhsnsjd perfect.

To know Dei as a person and to have seen bits and pieces of the thought process that went into every single one of the stories put out is just the cherry on top. I can 100000% assure you even if we talk in typo, the stories and worlds that are put out are insanely spectacular and blows my mind every single time.

Please, please read Stardust and Nebula !!

I promise you, you will be doing yourself a huge favor.

ok correct me if i’m wrong @somebodyssherlock-heterodyne but i tHINK you prompted me for ace + tanis having a heart to heart bc ace is a little freaked out over joining the vindicators but having been their enemy like. two days ago? so here it is! ao3

Ace has been kind of half-heartedly hoping to find Tanis at some point, but he hadn't really expected to without making an appointment— half the time she's in space, and usually the rest of the time she's in meetings. So it's a bit of a surprise to wander into a break room and find her just chilling on the couch with a cup of tea.

"Oh, hello, Ace," she says when she notices him standing half in the room, half in the doorway. "What's up?"

"Can I... talk to you about something?" he says. 

"Of course. Sit down." She scoots over to one side of the couch, and when he sits down next to her, she pulls her legs up onto the couch so she can sit facing him. Somehow, even that little gesture makes Ace feel like he was right to want to talk to her, that she'll have something helpful to say.

"So I joined the Vindicators," he says unnecessarily. She knows he did, she was there, but he needs to figure out how he's going to approach getting these thoughts out of his head. "And... it's a little weird. I don't know how to adjust. Like, the last thing I was doing was basically actively working against you, and now I'm here and I... I guess I don't know what's expected from me? Or I'm just on edge because I'm surrounded by people I've fought many times and I know exactly how all of you could kill me. I don't know."

"That makes sense." Tanis thinks about it for a second. "I don't think I've had the exact same experience as you, but I did also join the Vindicators a little... unexpectedly. It's a mindset shift, right?"

"Yeah."

She sips her tea. "I can at least tell you that Eli is not shy about telling you when he doesn't trust you. No matter what you might have done in the past, you're here now. That means that somewhere down the line you proved that you're meant to be here."

"Yeah, somewhere in all of my stealing shit and breaking windows Mission Control looked at me and thought 'yeah, that's what we want working with us,'" Ace says, maybe a little bitterly. "Sorry, it's not— I didn't mean for that to come out all bitchy. I just don't know what I did to... prove myself, I guess."

"There were a lot of people who vouched for you. And correct me if I'm wrong, but you're not a supervillain. You're someone who has powers and needed a job for them, and a supervillain obliged. And don't forget that you came to us." She smiles at him. "You do deserve to be here, Ace. You're worthy. You're a superhero just like the rest of us."

Aw, fuck. That hits deeper than he expected. Somehow, Tanis has laser targeted his biggest worry about being here and just stated that it's okay and that... he deserves to be here. And she's Captain Stardust. He has to believe her.

Ace opens his mouth and finds out that he's gotten choked up, so he just nods instead. 

"I trust you," Tanis says, and then she gets up. "And on that note, I should be going, my next meeting is soon. But tell me if you get freaked out again. I will do my best to help you."

She leaves, taking her tea with her, and Ace is relieved that she's letting him bawl in dignified solitude. 

She trusts him. They trust each other.

He deserves this.
