Ship: Vizzy
Genre: Cotton, Romance, Tension-?
Description: ✨ 💃 ✨ SHAKIRA✨ SHAKIRA ✨
Actual note: basically Lizzy and V doing comfort in their own way
---------------
(No one's pov)
V simply walked away from Uzi and N, leaving them in Doll's home as Uzi yelled at her annoyed while V simply ignored her to oblivion. She didn't have time for these games. That girl had the same thing as Cyn...That creepy red-eyed freak Doll. She wasn't going to wait for her to end up where Cyn did. Oh no, she was going to shut this show down, once and for all, and she'll make sure to take Uzi down as well. It's just how things have to be, you know?
V went into the ball room and checked the oil from the floor where Doll fell when she shot her, the pool of oil was significantly smaller, meaning that somehow she got some of her oil back, hell knows how.
While V was pondering about this a hand found itself resting on her shoulder. "Hello Diva queen you there?" Lizzy said in an overly annoyed tone as V frowned and glared at Lizzy. "The hell do you want now?" "Uhm? Rude much don't you think? I helped you." "After you nearly got me killed!" "We already talked about this, you wanted to kill everyone here so get over it." V rolled her eyes as she huffed frustrated. "Look- I didn't spend hours on making this amazingly fashionable dress for it to go to waste because Doll threw a tantrum and because you and those two sore losers were petty as hell towards her, so you are helping me to get everyone back here and get the party started." Lizzy wasn't asking, she was demanding it, ordering V all the while she flipped her hair and walked towards the DJ set up where a knife was in the main circuit board from the earlier fight. V cocked an eyebrow as she got up. "And what makes you think I'll do that?" "Oh come ooon! It ain't fair to be selfish you know. You had your fun, it seems fair we have ours, ok? Plus you look like you could use a party, besides, I thought you like scaring people." V looked at Lizzy genuinely confused as Lizzy simply replied by giving her confident smirk with a taunt of malice to it with a mean look. "Who said you'll call 'em?"
A smile slowly crept on V's face. Lizzy wasn't asking V to do a chore, she was condemning her to V's favourite game, scaring and terrorizing others, a sick pleasure that she gained by being a disassembly drone in order to cope with the pre-post guilt and anxiety when her memories first started to come back to her. Lizzy wasn't putting V to a chore, she was giving V a fun little activity to blow off steam after the 'overly boring' fight.
Before you knew it V was lurking in the ventilation shafts scaring students back to the celebration room where the prom was meant to be held. Soon enough the sheep were rounded in and Lizzy took care of the rest, placing Darren at the DJ board, while asking Rebecca to help with getting everyone on the dance floor, while Braiden was already posting about it on his socials, as while Emily and Sam struggled to helping Darren with the music given the control board was flung and it was a three people job to connect the wires and seal everything up as to be able to play out the music and the lights without getting an even bigger short circuit and break.
V crossed her arms over her chest as she looked at the crowd of the drones, bored as she missed the few seconds back in which she got to chase students around.
"Yo hissy kitty easy with the claws, no one's biting." Lizzy said teasingly as she looked at V with a smug smirk. V had no clue where that came from but when Lizzy gave a subtle look down and then looked back up into V's eyes, V realised she had her claws out. "Ah...must have forgotten them out from the chase." V said with a slightly dark chuckle as she tucked her claws back in and let her hands out. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. So, we good?" Lizzy asked with true genuine concern, as that subtle worry in her eyes that V got so used to appeared again. V would never admitted it but the contrast of Lizzy's gentle pink glow close to her fainted golden sparkle had something strangely comforting to it. "Yeah, whatever." V said.
V rolled her eyes and looked away closing her eyes with a blank face before opening one eye to look at Lizzy with a faint smile as Lizzy's frown soon turned to a smug smirk.
"Ewww look at those idiots." Lizzy said as V shot her head towards the direction Lizzy was looking. Uzi and N were awkwardly dancing together, nothing compared to their earlier fight-dance, probably because if those two weren't in a balance of chaos and adrenaline they were out of their comfort zone meaning they were sloppier.
V groaned loudly and rolled her eyes as she grabbed Lizzy's hand dragging her to the centre of the dance ring. "Well I won't spend my time looking at those sore losers." V announced annoyed.
She stopped once she was in the centre and held Lizzy's palm softly as she looked at her with a calm look as Lizzy looked at her slightly surprised before she smiled widely with a knowing look as V spun her around roughly, yet Lizzy spun around with grace and elegance as V held her hand extended out with Lizzy's. "I see you got experience." V said before pulling Lizzy back to her and lowering her to the ground in her grasp. "Been danced with before?" "I've been practicing with Doll." Lizzy said in a cocky manner as she looked at V with a viper look of slyness. She knew what she was doing and so did V, and God she hated it that Lizzy knew how to get to her.
She frowned and threw her in the air before catching her and spinning her, as soon they continued to dance into the night catching all of the eyes on them as the low fight between the girls continued unbeknown to everyone else.
She was smart little bunny slipping in and out of the claws of golden eagle oblivious to the danger, or better said having a grip on those very claws, working them as she liked as while the eagle nibbled at her ears in a threatening manner but both knew that the eagle wasn't going to bleed out the little bunny.
After V stopped dancing, leaning down with Lizzy looking deeply into her.
Her eyes. Those pink precious little orbs of light and pride, confidence, the absolute opposite of what she was when she was freshly baked like this girl, the opposite of what she was now, so confident and cocky, so disrespectful... nasty disrespectful meaning they needed to be properly taken care of.
Lizzy looked into V's eyes, dangers glow of the sun's unleashed wilderness that knows no mercy or compassion, orbs taken out from the very spirits of the stars given the deadly sharp pointy ends of the greater galaxies laid upon the sky, for how else would the galaxies stay deep dug into the flesh of the endless blue sea of the birds?
V slightly opened her mouth as her fangs glimmered in the dim light of the disco ball as Lizzy stopped breathing for a moment but let's not forget where they were now, hm?
"A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO THE PROM QUEEN AND YOUR FAVOURITE CHEERLEADER FOR PUTTING ON A PROPER SHOW AND EXAMPLE OF WHAT'S IT LIKE TO DANCE!" Rebecca practically screamed into the mic as she stood on her boyfriend's shoulders high up on the control board as Emily, Braide and Sam had to nervously hold all of the wires in absolute terror hoping that the wires wouldn't go off or the board to cave in under their friend's weight otherwise they'd all have a huge electro shock that'll get them to the nursery.
Everyone apluade, hell even N and Uzi did, I mean yes of course N is a goof ball but Uzi was unexpected. Hell be damned that purple freak as she smirked at Lizzy and V as if saying 'who's the freak'. No one else might have known, but careful eyes that look at every single little detail like the eyes of a girl who loves cryptic theories of conspiracy, for example, like Uzi, what was going on between the two. The tension, the sharp movements and yet fluid turns between the two as if they were one.
V felt utter hatred built up in her as she felt ready to rascal the little thing right there and then but Lizzy stopped her by simply placing her hand back on her.
A hand that reminded V that she shouldn't act out like that. A hand that reminded V how much more above she was from that 'purple freak' and how much better she was.
V looked at Lizzy and smiled cocky as she gave her hand out. "Round two?" "What took you so long to ask?" Lizzy asked as she returned a prideful grin as she took V's hand.
Danger untamed but damaged with soften pride from worry and fears. Quite the duo, don't cha think?
The end

Warnings: smut, violence???
Synopsis: the doctor takes you to a party. However, you see something that makes you not so happy.
Tumblr media
"A party?" Anyone could hear the questioning tone in yasmines voice. Though, I couldn't blame her as both Dan and I were just as confused.
"Not just any party. A royal wedding." The doctor sounded extremely enthusiastic about her idea and whilst it sounded great, our plans usually turned south.
"How do we know a bunch of sontarons won't ambush us mid event?" Accent strong, Dan crossed his arms, his brows raised in skepticism.
"Well you could always bring your wok?" It was hard not to laugh at yazs' comment and he sent a glare her way.
"Hey, this event is fixed. Meaning nothing will change." She told us, leaning on the console with confidence.
"And that's definite?" I asked, looking at her with amusement. Mouth scrunching up slightly, the doc huffed.
"Ninety-nine point nine, nine ni-"
"OK ok! We'll go!" Dan laughed, putting his hands up in defeat. Jumping up, the doctor ran around, flicking levers and pushing buttons. Eventually, the ship took off with the engines whirring powerfully. Watching from the side, I admired the blonde as she piloted her ship with ease. The look of concentration on her face, her slender hands taking control of the situation so easily and the way her tongue poked out the corner of her-
"Nice view?" Flinching from the sudden voice, my head shot left and I saw yaz trying not to laugh. Growing embarrassed that I had been caught, I cleared my throat and tried to look inconspicuous.
"I'm just, watching how to do it, kinda." My failed attempt at a smooth recovery only resulted in her cackling quietly.
"Oh stop it. You don't have to pretend. Anyone can see it." Blinking at the taller, my eyes shot left to right.
"See what?"
"That your pining after her." Dan suddenly appeared on my other side and I groaned in frustration.
"I'm that obvious?" They looked at each other and shared a look of agreement.
"To us you are. She's either really oblivious or just pretending not to see it." Taking in her words, I peered back over to the doctor and saw her inputing some details into the console.
"Are you gonna tell her?" Sighing, I shook my head and looked at Dan sadly.
"Theres no point."
"Well why not?" Before I could respond to him, the doctor came bounding over to our little huddle.
"You're all very quiet, sharing secrets?" None of us replied, looking around her with big eyes and sealed lips. After a minute of silence, she shrugged and broke out into a smile.
"Never mind. We'll land soon, go get ready and we'll meet back here in fifteen minutes." Shocked, we looked at each other.
"What's the dress code?" Yaz was wary, not wanting to be too over or too under dressed.
"Elegant, black tie? Go with that."
After rifling through the wardrobe, that was naturally installed within the tardis, I decided on a short, silky, sky blue dress. With matching Mary Jane heels. Very cute, classy but all dressy. There was a lace panel just below the bust which, was slightly low cut. It fell just above my mid-thigh and I finished it off with a pendant. In all honesty, I wasn't the most confident and it felt as though I genuinely looked disgusting. Maybe it was all in my head but hey, I couldn't fix that view myself. Brushing the cherry gloss across my lips, I added a spray of perfume before heading back out to the console room. No one else was there yet, just me. I was thankful for that and stood next to the console, grazing my hand over the miniature tardis figure that spun round at any mention of danger. Letting out a sound of recognition, I beamed up at the sentient space ship. Footsteps echoed from a distant hallway and they were drawing closer, quickly.
"I do not remember these being this difficult, where did my elastic one go? I swear this ship will be the death...of...me." The doctors words faded out as she stepped into the room. Golden eyes landed on my figure and I suddenly became even more self conscious. For a moment we stared at each other. My eyes wondered over her body without me even realising. She was wearing loose black pants the cinched in at the waist. A cream shirt was tucked in, not so neatly but then again, this was the doctor. The top three buttons were undone and a black tie, yet to be fastened, hung round her neck. Of course, she wore a long, ebony suit jacket to finish it off. Clearly, she loved that style. Finally, the doctor moved and walked up to me.
"You look-" She paused, looking me up and down several times.
"Awful?" I finished for her, giving off an awkward laugh and gazing down at the ground. Brows furrowed, the blonde reached up and ran her fingers through my long hair.
"I was going to say beautiful." Blushing, I think you could see the disbelief written on my face by the look she gave me.
"I'll give hell to anyone who tells you otherwise." Grinning at me, I felt myself relaxing somehow. Gaining a little confidence, I took her hand from my head and held it between us.
"You scrub up nicely doctor." Suprised at my compliment, a small smirk settled on her lips. Now my attention was on them, a thought came to mind.
"Actually doctor, would you like some lip gloss?" Taking a step back, she thought for a moment before nodding. So, I moved away and went back to collect it.
Once I had returned, the others were waiting now as well. They looked just as fancy and smiled at me once I'd appeared. Yaz saw what I was holding and nudged Dan slightly so he'd notice as well.
"Hey doctor, we'll land us okay?" The doctor looked up and saw me, nodding at them once she did. Pulling me off to the side, I could faintly hear them arguing about who was in control. Obviously yaz.
"Want me to fix your tie first?" I offered, seeing as it was still undone.
"Oh, yes please." Handing her the gloss, I began to button up her shirt. Ignoring the way my fingers brushed against her collar bones, I swallowed down my nerves. I was so close to her and her scent surrounded me. Old books and custard creams. She was gazing down at me with a slight intensity, a power we all knew she possessed. Taking hold of the material, I began to knot it correctly and pull it into a tie. Straightening it out, my hands ran down her front tentivley so that it looked presentable.
"Sorry." I spoke quietly, nervous she'd feel invaded or exposed.
"Its quite alright love." My head shot up, only to see a smug expression on her face. Had she been looking at me like that the whole time? Raising her hand, she handed me back the pastel tube before I had time to think. Opening it up, I began to apply a thin layer to her lips with precision. Though, I was shaking slightly. Luckily, I got it done neatly.
"There, all done."
"You know, there was another way I could of gotten some." The doctor said casually. Confused, I looked up at her until it clicked. Maybe. Surely she didn't mean-
"After all, you've got enough on to share." Not giving me any time to recover, she bounced back over to the controls just in time for us landing. Collecting myself, I went over to the small group.
"So, I think we should stick together?" The doctor suggested, stuffing her hands into her pockets. Yaz looked at me with an expression I couldn't read before linking arms with dan.
"I'll go with dan, have fun!" She practically dragged him out, not giving us any choice in the matter. Turning to me, the doctor held out her hand and I took it instantly. Together, we walked out of the tardis and into the biggest ballroom I'd ever seen. There were golden pillars in each corner of the octagonal shaped room. A large window was in the centre so we had a veiw of the universe outside. It wad beautiful. She lead me over to a quieter corner, where we could watch people dancing, interacting and other celebrations going on.
"I'll go get us drinks alright, stay here." Nodding at her, the taller strolled across the room and over to, what looked to be, a bar. There was a male behind the counter, with orange skin and spikes for hair. The place was full of a variety of aliens, including myself I supposed. To them at least, humans were the aliens. Glancing up, I immediately saw how the man had taken hold of her hand and they seemed to be laughing together. She looked really happy. Of course. Why did it even cross my mind that she'd want me. A stupid little human who follows her every call because, why? Because I fell in love at first sight and I can't tell my pathetic heart how to behave. Seeing him lean in closer, I grew angry and balled up my fists. I didn't need to see this. Turning my back to the scene, I took a deep breath and rubbed my face harshly. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
"Hey. Sorry that took a while." The doctors voice came from behind me.
"Everything okay?" Snatching the drink from her, I spoke more harshly than intended.
"Absolutely perfect." Eyes widening, I ignored the doctors startled look and tool a sip of my drink. I think she began to explain what it was but I wasn't listening. He was still looking at her. Why was he staring at her? Gripping onto my glass so tightly, a few people around us gasped once it shattered in my hold. The doctor apologised before giving me a stern look.
"What's the matter?" Not saying anything, she grew impatient and grabbed my wrist. Ignoring my protests, she pulled me out into the corridor so we were alone.
"Tell me what's wrong."
"Theres nothing wrong!" I yelled in defence, finding the carpet particularly interesting to look at. All of a sudden, her hands were on my shoulders, pushing me against the wall. Now trapped between her and the tapestry, I had no choice but to see her face. It made me cringe internally, begging myself not to blush or give it away.
"I'm going to ask you one more time. What's going on?" Tone demanding, I pressed my lips together in resilience. Nothing could make me tell her, it would ruin everything. Once she found out, things would be awkward and- Every thought I had melted away as I felt her lips press against my own rather roughly. Nevertheless, I kissed back instantly, body practically reduced to putty. It was intense, we moulded together perfectly. I could feel each one of my defenses dropping. Sadly, she pulled away, leaving me breathless.
"Tell me." Tears welled up in the corners of my eyes. Surely if she did that, the feeling had to be mutual. Or was she just that cruel?
"He was flirting with you. And you looked happy about it." Letting go of my shoulders, I slumped down as the doctor looked thoroughly confused.
"What are you- oh. You mean, the bartender?" She questioned, gazing at me with intent. Nodding, I sniffled slightly and hugged myself for comfort.
"He was touching you and you were laughing." Cupping my cheeks, the doctor lifted my head and gave me the most heartfelt smile I'd ever seen.
"What am I going to do with you huh?" Bewildered, i tilted my head in her hold. Much to my pleasure, she pulled me in for another kiss which I reciprocated immediately. My arms wrapped around her neck, drawing her in closer. Our bodied were pressed against each other, no room remaining. Unfortunately, I had to breath so it was cut much too short for my liking.
"It was you. Always you. I don't care about anyone else, especially not a man." Hearing her confession, I threw myself at her and held on tightly. I'd been dreaming of hearing that for months. Encircling my waist with her arms, she lifted me with ease and pressed my back onto the wall once again. Pulling back from the hug, I stared down at her (due to now being at a higher level).
"So, you get jealous easily?" Rolling my eyes, I huffed a little.
"I had every right to be. He was all over you." Smirking, the doctor tutted playfully.
"Less of the attitude." Feeling challenged, I tangled my hand in the tie, pulling her closer. A gasp escaped her lips at the sudden movement and cut of oxygen. My legs wrapped round her waist to add fuel to fire.
"Or what doctor?"
"You really wanna know?" Her voice was an octave lower as she mumbled against my lips. Instead if a verbal response, I just nod and tried not to seem too disappointed when she put me down. However, she did intertwine our fingers and drag me along until we got back to the tardis. I barely had time to process her flipping a switch as I found myself being taken into her room and the door slammed behind us. Sitting herself down on the bed, she pat her lap expectantly. Not needing to be told twice, I straddled her thighs and wasted no time in accepting her invitation of another kiss. Our tongues clashed as I pushed the coat off of her shoulders. Throwing it off to the side, the doctors hands wandered across my body and up my chest.
"Dont think I didn't notice how you were looking at me." She stated, beginning to kiss down my neck.
"Or the way you felt me up." All I could do was hum in response as she nipped at the skin, proceeding to leave adequate size marks in her path. Pulling on her tie, it came loose enough for me to rip it off. As her fingers fumbled with the zipper of my dress, we parted ways to catch our breaths. The dress fell from shoulders, leaving my front exposed. I felt myself turn red from this, the doctor was staring intensely. To distract myself from this, I wrapped the tie round the back of her neck and jerked her forward rather aggressively.  All she did was chuckle in response, hands crawling up my front and her forehead pressing against my own. Finding my hips, she sat me on her left thigh. Getting impatient, I trailed kisses down her neck, settling at the crook of her neck and biting down gently. The doctor groaned quietly, digging her nails into the now exposed flesh of my hips. When did she lift my dress? That didn't matter, all I was focused on was marking up the side of her neck. At some point, she had begun to rock my hips backwards and forwards. The motion elected a moan from me and I could tell she was smirking. Trying to focus, I searched blindly for the buttons on her shirt and practically tore them apart.
"Now, now love. Don't be too hasty." Ignoring her words, I hurled the garment across the room but froze suddenly. The doctor had grabbed my wrists, causing me to look at her expectantly.
"I said, slow down. Relax." Taking a deep breath, I wrapped my arms round her neck and smiled shyly.
"I'm sorry." Shaking her head, she laughed and released my hands. Kissing my lips softly, I barely had enough time to register the doctor operating my hips again. My moans were swallowed down as the kiss grew more intense. Pathetically, I whimpered, my head falling down against her shoulder. Grip becoming firmer and the movements harsher.
"Relax, you're doing so well." My heart fluttered at the compliment, nails pressing into her back. Something clicked in her brain and the doctor smiled smugly. Picking up the pace, she spoke smoothly into my ear.
"Such a good girl hm?" Whining, I nod dumbly and bit down on her shoulder. Grunting, the blonde bucked her thigh up and I came suddenly with a cry of her name. It took a minute to catch my breath and the doctor cupped my cheeks lovingly.
"You okay love?" Nodding, I beamed as she kissed my lips repeatedly. I squeaked as she flipped us, laying me down on the bed and hovering over me.
"Dont relax too much. We're not done here."
Nestled in the dark blue sheets, I watched as the doctor fastened up her boots loosely. Her shirt was only partially done up and her hair wasn't the neatest. Sitting up, I pulled her close and ran my fingers through the blonde locks to make it presentable.
"Dont be too long." Smiling, she leant down to kiss my lips before heading for the door.
"I'll grab yaz and Dan, come back then we'll be off and I'll be right here for as long as you like." She reassured me before disappearing. Sighing happily, I stretched out before hopping up and putting some cosy pyjamas on.
Making her way through the crowded ballroom, the doctor searched around for her companions.
"Where did you disappear off to pretty lady?" Freezing, she turned to see the barman from earlier.
"That's none of your concern." Giving him a polite smile, she went to leave but instead got stopped yet again.
"Oh but I thought we were getting along well?" There was a tone of flirting in his voice and it caused the woman to cringe.
"You thought wrong then, clearly. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to find my friends." Scoffing, the man looked her up and down, taking in her appearance.
"Are your standards that low you fucked an earth worm?" Eyes narrowing, the doctor stepped closer. Tilting her head up towards the creature, she sucked in a shirt breath.
"I'm sorry?"
"Come on. I saw you whisk that human away. Why would you even bother with such a lowly species?" The doctor felt her eye twitched but kept her cool up.
"I dont care for your opinions." Giving out a 'tch', it moved forward and grinned, sharp teeth showing.
"And I don't care for the opinions of women. Especially women who mess around with little earth girls." Her jaw clenched, nails digging into her palm. It was never this hard when she was a man. Then, she used to be able to do whatever without complaint.
"Shut your mouth."
"I'd understand if she was a looker. But it was hideous to see. Are you that desperate that you settled for a worthless ug-" having enough, she finally snapped and punched him right across the face. He fell to the floor with a harsh thud, alerting the people around.
"Doctor!" Yaz called out in shock, having just seen the whole thing. Both companions rushed to her side, looking at the man on the ground. The doctor chuckled at his expression, crouching down to his level.
"Sorry, were you saying something about her?" Quickly, he shook his head in hopes of not aggravating her further. Giving off a fake smile, she stood once again.
"Have a good day sir. Come on you two." The doctor was patronising him, she became cheerful once her attention focused in on her friends. Giving them no time to comprehend what just happened, they followed her back to the tardis.
"Doctor? What happened?" Dan asked, eyeing her up and down. Pulling out the tardis key, she looked at them both.
"What do you mean?" She opened the door and walked in, immediately starting up the machine to take off.
"Well for someone who's against violence, that looked pretty, well, violent." He continued, crossing his arms with an accusing look. Once the ship had taken off, the doctor tucked hands away into her pockets and looked between them both.
"Somtimes, people deserve it." She said with a sigh, leaning back against the console. Yaz raised her eyebrows.
"So, what have you been up to?" Rolling her eyes, the blonde waved them off and headed for the corridor.
Upon hearing the door open, I sat up smiling.
"I dont know if you wear pyjamas but I got you some out. Just incase you wanted to." Picking them up, she changed into them. I watched shamelessly. No point in being shy now. Once finished, the doctor climbed into the bed beside me.
"You took a while. Everything okay?" Humming, she slipped her arms round my waist and rested her head on my chest.
"Yes, I just punched someone." Eyes widening, I almost jumped up; if it wasn't for her laying on me.
"You what? Doctor!" I scolded, confused as to why on earth she'd ever do that. First time that we met, she gave us the lecture on never hurting anyone.
"He deserved it. Said some things." Now even more confused, I began to thread my fingers through her short hair.
"What did he say that was so bad you punched him?" I asked, wanting the full picture. This was very unlike her.
"He was talking nonsense. About you mainly. I'm not going to let that happen." Feeling touched, I let out a small laugh then kissed her head.
"I dont deserve you doctor."
"I'm exactly what you deserve."

ouhhh ok I may have remade Scrabble's bio again. let's a go!
• Scrabble •
• Autobot, claw machine mutated by the Allspark in 2007.
• 6'4 feet tall.
• 432 lbs of weight.
• greatly attached to her plushie collection - notable plushies are Mr. Muffins the blue dino, Squeak the bunny and Lisp the snake.
• Doesn't have any weapons, not counting her claw hand.
• 2007 •
• As mentioned, she was created by the Allspark in Mission City when the cube fell down and sent an electric wave towards a nearby arcade. Scrabble ran out soon after and hid away from the humans, getting enough time to calm down.
• Found by Bumblebee a while after the first movie, when the Autobots were hunting down agressive Allspark mutations. She approached him and turned into her claw machine mode, telling him to pick a toy she could fish out. Confused, Bee chose the blue dino, and he watched as Scrabble failed to get the toy out. He moved her to N.E.S.T. after that, since she appeared to not be malicious.
• ROTF •
• Despite mainly staying friends with Bee, Scrabble also got attached to Arcee, who she began to see as a mother figure. The only people she genuinely didn't like were Skids and Mudflap, who oftentimes took away her plushies to bully her.
• In N.E.S.T, due to her young age, she didn't take part in any missions, instead watching DVDs or playing with her toys.
• She felt alienated both from the Autobots and the humans - the Autobots because she was not from Cybertron and most Autobots didn't really seem to understand her childish antics, the humans because, well, even if they'd like her more, she was still a robot that could hurt them.
• During her time in the N.E.S.T base positioned near Mission City, Scrabble snuck out, eager to find where she came from. Using the information she already knew, she eventually found a familiar arcade, one she could swear she came from. She wanted to sneak into the building, just to see how it looked inside, but a human quickly noticed her, understandably freaking out. Despite Scrabble's attempts to tell them that she won't hurt them, many other present humans noticed her, leaving the arcade in a panic.
• Several N.E.S.T. soldiers eventually arrived at the location, taking Scrabble back to the safety of the nearest base. None of the Autobots had the time to lecture her on how much of a mistake her sneaking out was, but she knew she screwed up.
• When she finally met with the Autobots, Bumblebee had terrible news for her. Arcee didn't return from the battle in Egypt.
• DOTM •
• Two years later, and Scrabble remained the way she used to be. While she lost Arcee, she was glad to have everyone else, especially Bee.
• She was in the base in Chicago to see Sentinel be ressurected, but she didn't exactly get involved in the story until the base came under attack much later.
• When informed that the Autobots will have to leave Earth, she made it pretty clear that she did not want to go. She cried and yelled when she was being carried to the spaceship - sure, Earth wasn't the planet she was supposed to be from, but this was still her home. Once they were inside the ship, Bumblebee quietly told her that they aren't actually leaving the planet, putting an end to Scrabble's sadness.
• While the Autobots were about to head back to Chicago, Scrabble was left hiding outside of the city in a remote area near an empty forest. She knew this was a serious matter, so she quietly hid in a bunch of thick bushes she found.
• She was picked up from the area by Bumblebee many hours later and brought back to the N.E.S.T. base. She saw that several of her friends were gone, but for what it was worth, she was happy that this was all over.

“Mom got lost again” - Batfam x Fem!Reader
Synopsis : Little snippets about how “Batmom” (reader) will never find her way in the Mansion. But it’s fine, really, because she can always count on her husband and children to “save” her.  //DRABBLE
So. I was watching one of those “Architect’s digest” video on YouTube where they visit houses that are millions and millions of dollars worth, and besides the fact that I was thinking “wow look at all those beautiful things I’ll never be able to afford”, I couldn’t shake another thought off…and that was that I would totally get lost in many of those houses. Like, the way some are designed, they’re literally Dedalus’ labyrinth my dudes. So anyway, here’s not-really-a-fic-nor-a-drabble for you, a sort of snippet kind of thing, about this. Before the kids
“Hey Alfred, where’s (Y/N) ?”
He asks, one early evening as he just got home from work and knows you were going to meet up with him at his place.
“Oh Lady (Y/L/N) wanted to go see the library, so I took her there.”
“Thank you.”
Bruce arrives in the library, but you’re nowhere to be found. Wondering where you went he calls you but it seems like your cell don’t have any battery anymore. He starts to walk around the West Wing, looking in every room and…Finally, he finds you.
You’re sitting down against a wall in the corridor, looking discouraged, staring at your dead phone. You spot him and jump to your feet, looking very relieved. You then rush in Bruce’s arms, he catches you in extremis and you exclaims :
“Oh my god ! Bruce ! I love you !”
Insert a lot of kisses on his cheeks a really huge hug, as if you haven’t seen him in ages. But I mean, getting lost any place is sort of distressing, and you looooove that man. So much.
A little confuse, although always happy to have your affection, he asks :
“What…is going on ?”
“I got lost…”
“You got lost ?”
"You have a very big house.”
Highly amused, Bruce responds : “I do.”
“So I got lost.”
“Ah. And what were you doing sitting there ?”
“Well…My parents always taught me to stay where I was, if I ever got lost somewhere, so when they’d came to look for me we’d be sure to see each others instead of passing right next to each others a thousand times…”
Bruce can’t help but burst out in laughter. Even more so that you genuinely looks like a kid that got separated from her parents. And oh, oh you love his laughter.
It’s always a feat, when you can hear it. Especially when it comes from the heart like right now, when he genuinely laughs this deep beautiful laugh, because he’s happy. Because you make him happy.
He’s not laughing at you, he just laughs because...You’re too much sometimes.
And exactly what he needs. Too much is good, for a man like him.
He takes your hand and shows you around one more time.
But he can see that even so, you can’t seem to remember the layout of the house, and you getting lost will happen again for sure.
And he’s right. He showed you around his manor so many times, yet it seems you just can’t remember certain places. Like you memorized the places you go the most, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, access to the Batcave...and most of the time you find your way around easily (albeit sometimes still a little lost).
But there’s entire areas of the house you try not to venture in or...it ends with Bruce coming to your rescue. Or Alfred. But he usually leaves Bruce to do it, as the man just...loves the way you two love each others.
It’s always rather cute. And it warms the butler’s heart.
Never in his wildest dream would he ever have thought that his Master Bruce would find someone like you. Someone accepting and understanding, and loving him unconditionally. And someone that Bruce loved fully in return, and whom he cherished above all.
Yes. Alfred often let Bruce go on the hunt for you across the Manor, simply because he shipped you both since the very first time he saw you together, and he thoroughly enjoyed when his Master Bruce was acting like a lovesick puppy around you. When he was acting like a “normal” man, just hopelessly in love with his wife.
And it was so pure, and beautiful.
So what if sometimes you’d wait a little long, lost in those endless corridors ? Alfred knew that Bruce would find you. Always. And that when he did, as usual, you would make Bruce’s heart melt, and he’d feel happy just by seeing you and...honestly it was all wort it.
Bruce sometimes suspect you do it on purpose. That you get lost just so he can find you. And honestly ? He really doesn’t mind...
Saved by the little bird
"Over a year of living here, I swear I still can’t...where...wait, didn’t I just pass this damn yet-again-another-living room ?! Aaaah what the fuck why is everything looking the same. Fucking shit. What a shitastrophy. Fucking cockburger son of a bitchtits little f-”
“Um...Are you ok, mom ?”
Oh sssshhhh...Alfred wouldn’t be happy with you for swearing around your young son. Dick was only eight, after all.
He had started to call you “mom” since very recently, and it always made your heart skip a beat. Made you feel utterly happy.
As the boy came in behind you from the corridor, you were about to kick a potted plant out of frustration (another thing that Alfred wouldn’t be very happy about). You turn around, slowly get your foot back on the floor, and say :
“Um. I got um...Lost...”
“Lost ?”
“Yes...I just...can’t get used to the size of this house. I wanted to get something that Alfred said was in the East wing, which is somewhere I never really go. And um...”
“You got lost.”
“Yes. Don’t make fun of me ok, your dad is already enough.”
“I wasn’t going to make fun of you !”
Your son says, a little virulently, as if offended you’d ever think such a thing ! You smile at him, because how sweet could this kid get really ?
“Alright little buddy, sorry I ever made such an assumption. So, if you’re not gonna mock me...maybe you can save me then ?”
“Save you ?”
“Well, I’m lost. And you don’t seem lost.”
“That’s because I’m not, I always found my way out of the labyrinths in fun fairs very easily !”
He tells you, smiling widely, excited at the prospect of helping you.
“Where do you need to go ?”
“Let’s try to get to the kitchen.”
“I know the way ! Come on !”
He takes your hand in his little one, and drags you behind him, leading you across corridors and rooms up until...
“Here !”
He tells you, smiling widely. And it’s so cute, because he’s missing a few teeth and his smile is just so pure...You just want to squish his little face and hug him to death.
“Ah my savior ! What can I ever repay you with ?”
You ask, taking an overdramatic tone of voice, knowing little Dickie always loved when you two played pretend and such. He takes the gruffest voice he can and says :
“Well, my lady can repay me with...um...Cookies, yes I think cookies will do !”
“Cookies ? Well this sounds fair, for this dashing saving you just did ! Macadamia or chocolate chip ?”
“Both ?”
“Both it is !”
It happened many times, that you paid your oldest son with cookies, after he saved you from getting lost in your own house...Even as an adult, he’d demand payment of fresh cookies, and then would go show them off to his siblings, refusing to share, as the “good” older brother he was haha.
Lost together
You find Jason in one of the many gaming room, while you were trying to get to the kitchen. You know for a fact that there are no gaming rooms on the way to the kitchen, but you can’t really figure out where you messed up...Was it when you went left after the third bathroom ? Or when you took the stairs down right before one of the mezzanine ? Wait, did that mezzanine have a piano ? Because if it did then it was the right way, if it didn’t, then you were on the other side of the damn house. Or maybe just right next to...Yeah ok. Lost again.
But you found Jason.
Maybe he could help ?
The boy was sitting in a huge comfortable leather armchair, reading a book. When he heard you come in the room, he snapped his head up and a huge smile illuminated his cute little face.
“Finally ! Mom !”
He jumps off the armchair, putting down his books, and goes to jump in your arms. Then he says :
“I was trying to go to the arcade room ! Because I wanted to beat your high score on Tekken, but I always only followed someone there, and I can’t find it anymore...”
Ah. The arcade. One of the only room you sort of knew where to find...If you started from the front door. Or your bedroom. Not from a random room god knew where in the mansion.
Why was this house so big ???
“I’m sorry to bother you with this, I know I should’ve paid more attention when Alfred showed me, but it’s just-”
Oh no. Oh no the little one was looking at you worryingly, probably because you weren’t responding, and he thought he was being a pain.
Little Buddy always thought he was bothering people...So hurriedly, you said :
“Oh no no Jason, you’re not bothering me at all ! It’s just um..I’m um...I’m sort of lost too.”
“You are ?”
“I am.”
“Really ?”
“Really.”
“Well damn.”
“Haha right ? Usually your father or Dick would save me. Or Alfred.”
“Yeah same.”
“I actually rarely walk around alone now that I think about it.”
“Yeah same !”
There’s a short pause, where you look at each others and smile at this little moment. And then, as you slowly both realize that you’re lost, IN YOUR OWN HOME, and the ridiculousness of the situation down on you, you explode in laughter.
You end up getting back to the armchair, and Jason settles comfortably in your lap as you continue to read the book he was reading, out loud, and he listens to you happily. Nobody ever really read him stories before you and Bruce...
Bruce finds the both of you later in the day, fast asleep in the armchair, Jason latched on your arm as you hug him to you.
He finds the sight so adorably charming. He sits down next to the two of you, enjoying this moment of quiet and peace. And then he picks up the book you were reading, reading it himself...Ah. It’s one of his favorite childhood book.
He reads it, waiting for you two to wake up, not wanting to disturb your sleep.
It’s rare, that he has some free time. And he really doesn’t mind spending it watching over his sleeping wife and son, waiting for them to wake up and guide their way back to the part of the house they know...
Damn. Damn he loves them so much.
"I memorized the blueprints”
“And see, here’s a secret passage !”
The boy says excitedly, as he shows you and Bruce a hidden door in one of the wall, behind a heavy tapestry.
“...Wait...I didn’t even know that was there...How did...What ?”
Your husband asks, half-confused, half-impressed, with maybe a little hint of hurt pride in there as well...it’s his house after all.
“I memorized the blueprints of the house that are in the library.”
The little one says, smiling widely at his new father. Bruce responds :
“I have those blueprints, I never saw this secret passage ever in my life.”
“You must have the “official” blueprints, the one Allan Wayne gave to others. The blueprints in the library, the ones I found, were tucked away inside one of the book and showed more than the “official” ones. Your great-great-great-great-great grandfather was a very paranoid man, I assume he pulled a Madame Winchester on the builders.”
“Madame Win...Huh ?”
“You know, famous Winchester mansion ? Super haunted ? She gave instructions to many different people to build certain things and there isn’t really blueprints that shows a correct layout of everything ?”
“Right...Sure...”
“I assume you were too busy building the bat cave to really pay attention to the house. But it’s quite a wonder ! There’s so many new secrets I haven’t discovered yet !”
A soft, tender smile spreads on your husband’s face as he looks down at Tim. Bruce says :
“That’s quite a discovery you found there my boy, and you say you memorized it already ?”
“It was easy, I just had to keep in mind the-”
And then Tim started to get lost in long complicated explanation that you didn’t understand, while your husband seemed very interested.
You couldn’t help but smile. How cute...
Today, you were sort of glad, that you got very lost in your own home again, and got saved by little Timmy. He hadn’t lived in the house for very long by that time, but already knew it even better than Bruce, apparently.
It was so nice, to have such a sweet little on in your life again...Dick hadn’t been by in a while, busy with the titans. And Jason...
You didn’t want to think about Jason.
Or at least, not in the way you would end up thinking about him. You wanted to remember his smiles, and how he always got lost too in this house. Not...Not...the broken body Bruce brought back...You...
You shooed the memory away, and focused on your son.
Tim was now going on and on about how he found really cool places that weren’t on the normal blueprints, and how he wanted to show Bruce and you.
And Bruce was smiling. For the first time in ages. Your husband was smiling, faced with such an excited little one.
So yes. Yes, today you were glad you got lost in your own home, and that your tiny son found you and showed you the way. That it lead you to ask him how the hell was he that fast in memorizing the house’s layout, and then him explaining things about the blueprints.
And consequently, how Bruce and him started to truly bond, started to talk about the house and about the Wayne legacy...
It was nice. To finally see your husband smile again. Propelled by a sudden surge of motherly love, you hugged Tim tight, and the boy, a bit confused at first, hugged you back without much questions.
And this sight.
His wife and his son hugging.
It warmed Bruce’s heart in a way his heart hadn’t been warmed since he lost Jason.
Yes. It was good, that sometimes you’d get lost in your own damn house.
This is a fun game
By the time Cassandra came into your life, this “mom got lost again” thing became sort of a game. It was about who would find you first, when they realized you were lost.
You’d be gone a little too long after saying : “I’m gonna go get the ice cream in the freezer”, and they knew. It was time to set a party to find you.
“3, 2, 1...GO !” And they’d run in each different direction, searching for you.
The winner gets cookies. Baked by you...
Cass liked that game.
Because even if she lost, she would’ve spend quality times with her family. Fun times. Looking for her beloved mother.
Mother.
The only mother she ever had.
Mom.
It’s a word that always easily rolled off her tongue.
Mom.
“Found, mom.”
You jumped a little in the air, as your only daughter suddenly appeared out of nowhere. She was looking at you upside down, and it took you a little bit to realize she was actually dangling off in a very spider-man way off of the floor just above. She must’ve heard your footsteps (or more likely, your growls about being lost again).
She jumped off, and you felt your heart stop, suddenly fearing she would fall down but..Not, she agilely jumps over the rail, and is in front of you, smiling.
Finding you was Cass’ favorite game. Because when she did, you’d always look at her fondly, give her a hug, and praise her for being the best.
And for someone like Cassandra, who grew up treated like an emotionless machine by a man who never viewed her as more than a weapon...it felt nice, to have such a loving person in her life.
When Cass thought of you, her mind filled with bright colors, and her heart with warmth. Because she grew up never learning how to speak, her thoughts didn’t quite work in words like most people, but in colors and temperatures.
And you, you were reassuring colors and soothing warmth.
Mom.
Such a simple word. Yet it took her a while to be able to even say it.
Now she could speak, in big thanks to you. And her father.
She loved you guys so much. So much.
She loved you.
“Mom.”
She says, reaching a hand for yours. And you take it, smiling once more, shaking your head and apologizing that you made her look for you...Oh.
Oh but she doesn’t mind. None of them do.
Because when they find you. When they “save you”, you always look at them with such unconditional love. No matter what.
Finding you is Cass’ favorite game.
It always leaves her feeling nice and warm, loved and safe.
Finding you is Cass’ favorite game.
And one day, she’ll be able to tell you all of that. One day, she’ll be able to tell you to never apologize, because she loves to look for you. She loves you.
One day. One day she’ll talk to you about all of this.
But for now, it was fine for both of you that her feelings translated in only smiles, affectionate touch, and one very important word...
“Mom”.
“I won’t let you get lost !”
Damian hated the mere idea of you being in any kind of distress.
ANY kind.
So when he learned that you would often get lost in the Manor, and even as everyone assured him it just sort of became an inside joke within the family, your youngest son took it upon himself to make sure you’d never get lost again.
He started to put up signs everywhere in the house, giving indications as to where you were and where was what. Detailed little maps, arrows and such. Drawn by himself. It took him WEEKS to finally cover the entire Manor.
It’s something no one ever thought of before because...Although you often got lost, it was always nice to try and find you, and well, you would still know your way around the part of the house you’d most go to.
In fact, when you got lost, it was often because you’d go in a wing you didn’t know much for whatever reason, and they’d know where to look for you.
So they never really saw a reason to make signs telling you the right way. Or yeah, they never really thought about it.
But Damian...Damian was set to make the house “lost proof”.
As a result, you definitely didn’t get lost as many times. Which was...nice ?
But once, at dinner, Dick was reminiscing of that one time you got lost in the attic for some reason, and couldn’t find your way out, and him and Jason had to get you, and how they laughed a lot and you praised them for saving you...
And Damian grew quiet. And upset. When you asked him why, he refused to answer, but the next day, you ventured in a part of the house you rarely went to so you could go fetch something and...
All the signs telling you which way to go were gone. Which didn’t worry you much, you knew you’d be found by one of your family member before long, or would just find your own way out after a while.
But it was odd nonetheless.
It’s only when Damian found you, and “saved” you that you understood why the signs weren’t on anymore.
Damian too, wanted to “save” you from getting lost. Wanted to laugh with you because it was silly that you got lost in your own house. Wanted you to bake him cookies as a reward for saving him. Wanted to share those bonding moments with you...
It was so cute, and showed how far Damian really went since Talia first dropped him on your door, that you couldn’t help but hug the hell out of your baby.
He was a little embarrassed, but hugged you back nonetheless.
Yes. Yes Damian had come along way, since he first came into your life. He learned how to love, how it felt to be loved, and how...how sometimes he would crave for your attention.
And so he took down the signs. So he could save you. So he could share this with you, just like you did share those moments with all his other siblings.
He took down the signs, because you getting lost was an important inside joke of this family...And because he was, now, part of this family.
What even is this place...
Duke thought he would never EVER find his way back in this new house.
His bedroom was in...east wing ? West wing ? ...SOMEWHERE.
The first few days of living there were overwhelming, and he constantly had to make sure he wasn’t far from one of the other family member because he was so afraid to get lost.
He couldn’t remember the right way to anywhere. This was all too big.
He grew up in a small two bedrooms apartment, in the heart of Gotham’s sludge. He could find his way in this gigantic city easily, knew the place like the back of his hand but...
The Manor ?
It was uncharted territory. In every sense of the term.
First it was on the outskirt of Gotham, in the hills, a place he never set foot in.
And then the house, but also the land around it was bigger than his neighborhood ! It was so foreign for him...
But he hid this well. He hid the fact he was overwhelmed well. And just made sure he’d always be with someone when walking around the manor.
He tried to remember the way they took, he really did. But every time he thought he got it, they’d use another way and he was totally lost again.
Alfred showed him around the first day, but it was too many informations at the same time. Him and his ADHD couldn’t process it.
What would you guys say, if he mentioned he was getting lost in the house ? Surely, you’d mock him. Or just feel sorry for him ?
He wasn’t sure, and he didn’t want to know. Acclimating to this new life was already hard enough, what with discovering his meta-powers, having to deal with what happened to his parents, and living in this all new environment.
You made it comfortable and easy for him. You were just so welcoming and loving. But it was still hard...he was only a boy.
And so he said nothing. And now...now, lost and walking through corridors that all looked the same, he dearly regretted it.
He turned a corner, and...there you were.
“Oh, hey Dukie”.
He smiled shyly, afraid you would know he was lost, and said :
“Hi.”
“What’s up ?”
“Nothing, I was going to- I was exploring the house.”
He was about to say he was trying to get to the movie theater, where Damian  and Cass were surely waiting for him by that time, so they could watch a movie. But what if he was totally off ? Far from where the home cinema was supposed to be ?
“Exploring the house” sounded like a safe thing to say.
“Oh, careful not to get lost haha. Happens to me all the time...”
Wait...What ? Were you joking ? He wasn’t sure.
“Actually, I’m lost right now. I wanted to take a shortcut from the kitchen to the bat cave to see Bruce -I miss him- -Yeah I know only saw him couple of hours ago-, but I must’ve taken a wrong turn...Somewhere...”
You were holding your chin in your hand now, trying to remember where you could possibly have taken the wrong turn. And Duke realized you were serious.
“You’re lost ?”
“Yeaaaah. Go ahead, you can laugh. I know I’d laugh at myself too haha. I just could...never quite figure out how this house worked ? I grew up in a one bedroom apartment, sleeping in the living room with my brothers. And then when I moved in on my own I had an even smaller place. So. It’s a change. Even after all those years I’m still not quite used to it.”
“Ah me too ! I mean, I just can’t figure out the layout of this place !”
“Ah ? Hey, for you too, sometimes you think you definitely know where you’re going and then you find yourself outside in the garden and you just have no idea how you got there ?”
“Yes !!!! I was sure of my way so many times but then one wrong turn and...here I am.”
“Well Duke, believe me I get it. I get it haha.”
You then proceeded to tell him all the most embarrassing stories of you getting lost, including that one time at a charity event held in your house, someone asked you to take them to a certain place, and your asshole of a husband let you do it just because he knew you wouldn’t find the way, and because you getting lost with their guest was the only fun entertainment of the night.
And this.
This simple shared thing, of you two getting lost...
It was amongst the first time Duke really felt home. Really felt like he wasn’t alone.
Those past few days had been difficult for him. This was all so new.
And yet, with a few smiles, silly stories and support..You made him feel like he was truly home. And he didn’t even notice the hours you two passed, sat on the floor in that corridor, before Bruce found you and took you back to where you initially wanted to go...
Saved by the littlest bird
Thomas is about eight, and you’re about to have a heart pinching flashback as he’s going to remind you of your first baby...
Dick was going to be almost thirty, by then. He was married, and with a kid on the way (I’m not here for ship wars, you chose with who he is, wether it’s Babs or Kori, or whoever else). Oh, how long ago it was, that his little eight years old hand would hold yours to guide you across the manor...
Too bad. Because right now, you definitely needed some help navigating around. Lost again. Ugh. T’was getting old.
“Mommy...You’ve been living in this house for over 15 years now, how can you still get lost ?”
Your littlest baby. Thomas. Appearing from around the corner, and as he saw you, rolling his eyes like never before. Yet smirking, in a very “Bruce” way. Ah. Like father, like son.
“...”
Is your only answer.
You avoid his judging gaze, but did it in a way that was overdoing it, so he knew you were just pretending to be embarrassed haha. He rolled his eyes, and then takes out a walkie talkie and says :
“I found her Damdam, she’s in the West Wing near one of the drawing room. Over.”
“Ok, thanks little buddy, let’s meet up in the kitchen, over.”
“Ok cool, be right there, over.”
This little exchange made you smile, oh those two were very close. Well, all your children were close. But Damian and Thomas had a little something, because they were the youngest, and because Damian took to heart his big brother role. He was also the only one still living in the manor by that time, all your other children having their own place in Gotham, going to college or already working...a wave of nostalgia threatened to take over you, and you quickly thought of something else.
“Little buddy”, Damian called Thomas. Copying you for sure. How cute.
“Come on mommy, I’ll take you back to the kitchen. You can make us cookies then, yes ?”
“Of course my baby, any flavor you want.”
“Well Damian will surely want the white chocolate chip ones, so I’m good with those too.”
Thomas was such a sweet consilient boy. He didn’t really mind anything, and would follow you guys anywhere...as long as he could be with his family, and enjoy their presence, he just never minded.
He definitely had a stubborn and strong personality, but he was still oh so sweet. And nice. Even if he did mock you a lot for getting lost in your own home...
“Where did you get the walkies ?”
“Dick gave it to me last time he came, so we could cheat at hide and seek. Don’t tell Tim.”
You chuckle, imagining how nuts your kids would get because Dick always goddamn won...
Ah and of course Dick would give a talkie to his littlest brother. To be honest, Thomas reminded you of Dick in lots of ways.
They were both gentle, funny, sweet and nice...with outburst of anger and pride sometimes. Ah quite like Bruce too. You loved them all so damn much.
“Now come mom, I think dad will be home soon too ! We can watch a movie before the patrol ! With cookies !!”
You smile, and you take your son’s hand. Your youngest boy. Reminiscent of when Dick used to do this. All those years ago.
Reminiscent of a time you didn’t feel so weak...
(I’M SORRY I HAD TO ADD THIS LAST LINE FOR IT TO FIT IN THE WORLD I SORT OF MADE !! If you know you know).
And if you’re wondering who the hell Thomas is : Polichinelle, “Go away, you’re confusing my baby”, Shaky steps and bad teaching, Master of Diaper, How do you make babies ?, What it means to be a big brother - By Damian Wayne and After Batmom’s death)
Bonus : There’s a moment, in one of the video I watched, where the guy showing the house off is basically like : “You might think this is a beautiful dining room…but it’s not, it’s a breakfast room”, and I had random flashes of Alfred showing the manor to one of the kids, or even to Batmom as she first comes to the house, and him talking about the “breakfast room”, and the boys/Batmom just not being able to get over the fact there’s a room that exist just to eat breakfast in…(wait till they see the personal SPA floor uh). Only Damian would be like : “Tt. Only one breakfast room ?” XD. Anyway. I thought I shared, because it made me laugh to imagine how ridiculous Wayne Manor is. Wait worst, in one of the video the people living in it had a room bigger than my entire apartment that existed for the SOLE PURPOSE OF CUTTING BOUQUETS OF FRESH FLOWERS ??????? That I’m sure they wouldn’t have. I mean, a garden that Alfred would cherish, for sure. But...an entire room just to cut FRESH (the dude really put an emphasis on that) flowers...My guy...what...

Ok the end. Hope you liked whatever my thoughts were on this Saturday night. I didn't put as much effort in this as I usually do and wrote it rather fast, hope it’s still ok, I just wanted to share a little something that wouldn't leave my head up until I finally wrote about it :).
PS : Also it’s all sort of a joke I thought about, I know most people would probably find their way after living for ages in the same place, but ah you get what I meant haha. Also I get lost in my own basement sometimes because of how the layout is, so ya know...hahaha.

Chapter 13: An Understatement
Warnings: blaster fire and descriptions of battle, mentions of injuries, Mando gets pretty hurt and the reader is a wreck (as usual)
Author’s Note: Enjoy Chapter 13!
Tumblr media
Mando’s POV
All Mando could think about was you.
Did you protect the child? There’s no way you leaked their info to the Empire and betrayed them, right? Were you dead?
Somehow, the third option scared him the most.
As if this could not get any worse, Moff Gideon opened his mouth yet again.
“I have just received word that you seem to have a very valuable asset on your side,” he said, and Mando knew exactly what he was getting at.
He was referring to you.
Mando’s mind raced a million miles a minute. The Empire were after you, and they had to know you had the child with them. You could hold your own, he knew that, but against an entire regime of soldiers?
Mando knew you would rather die than get the child caught, he would do the same thing, but he wanted you alive. That’s all he wanted.
“It’s ironic, really,” Moff continued. “You put your trust in the Empire to get away from the Empire.”
Moff Gideon could insult Mando all he wanted. He could insult his religion, his creed, his past, but something about him referring to you as “the Empire” when you had worked so hard to get away from it rubbed him in all the wrong ways.
You had helped Mando start to put his violent ways aside, but you weren’t here now, and Mando wanted to kill the Moff where he stood.
“It’s time you face the fact that she will return to where she belongs. My side. I hope her betrayal does not hurt your feelings too bad,” Moff said, and Cara scoffed.
Mando’s last button had been pushed.
“She didn’t betray us, Cara,” he said sternly, and Cara rolled her eyes.
“Oh, so you’re on her side? The Empire’s side?,” she responded, and Mando tried to keep his cool.
It wasn’t really working.
“We are on the same side,” Mando snapped back. “It’s time you realized that.”
You would not betray him. If you were any other person in the galaxy, Mando would start to give up now. But you showed him, in the very brief time you were together, that even people with the worst pasts can still have good hearts.
You made him feel like an idiot. Like a joke. He hadn’t genuinely cared for a person since his parents, but then the kid came along, and then you came along. It’s like the galaxy was showing him perfect prizes, but the game was impossible to win.
But the very worst part of it all, was that Mando was willing to try.
What had you done to him?
Your POV
To say this day did not go as planned was an understatement.
One second you are running for your life, the next you are being scooped up by a metal hand. It happened so fast you barely even had time to register you were lifted off the ground and placed onto a speeder bike.
Once you finally did register what had happened, you immediately thought it was the Empire’s doing, so you turned around and aimed your longspear at the driver.
“Please don’t,” the droid responded. “Me being dead would make this much worse for you.”
The nurse droid, you thought to yourself. From Kuiil’s house!
You were in such a haze of mourning and sadness those couple of days, you barely remembered meeting the droid. You even forgot it rode on the ship to this planet!
You relaxed a bit and lowered your longspear, smiling internally at the thought that a piece of Kuiil was still alive, but you didn’t put your guard down.
You hadn’t put your guard down in days, so it’s not like your overall body language changed that much.
You made sure the child was ok, and once your head finally cleared, you realized Mando was trying to reach you again.
“Kuiil, Y/N, somebody come in.”
The droid picked up the comm device before you could get it, and responded in a very monotoned voice.
“Kuiil has been terminated.”
That ought to make Mando feel better, won’t it, you thought to yourself.
You were going to take the comm device out of the droid’s hand, but you froze when you heard Mando’s tone of voice speaking through the comms again.
“What did you do?” he asked, and you swore you could hear the venom dripping from his mouth.
It always surprised you how scary Mando could really be when he tried.
“I am fulfilling my basic function,” the droid responded.
“Which is?” Mando asked.
“To nourish and protect.”
With that statement, the droid sped up the bike, and you held the child in your lap. He looked up at you with confused eyes, and you could tell he was asking why you weren’t going home.
“We are going to save him little guy,” you said with a stroke to his ear. “We will be home before you know it.”
You smiled lightly to yourself, and before you knew it, the speeder bike was roaring through the town and taking out every trooper in sight.
Blaster fire surrounded you and you tried to focus on what was ahead.
Mando was trapped…. But where?
Finally, you squinted your eyes and saw a regiment of soldiers ahead, and you knew Mando and the rest of the team were trapped inside the building.
“There!” you yelled, pointing to Mando’s cage, and the droid turned you and the child around for protection while he continued to fire.
It was slightly disorienting at first, because you honestly didn’t expect that to happen, but you felt better about the child’s safety.
This droid is no dummy, you thought to yourself. Kuiil did a good job.
Your heart pulled slightly at the thought of Kuiil, still laying out in the desert, but he would get his proper burial.
You just had to make sure Mando didn’t get one of those first.
The droid finally slowed down, and you took the opportunity to jump off the speeder bike and dive behind a pillar.
You got the child situated in your arms well enough so he could be protected, and started making your way out of your hiding spot.
You knew you couldn’t fight with the child in your arms, that’s just stupid, but you did reflect blaster shots from the troopers and took as many out as you could.
You had to start making your way to Mando somehow, but out of the corner of your eye, it seemed Mando was coming to you.
Mando charged out into the open with Karga on his tail, and he fired at will. He kicked and punched the troopers who were close enough to him, and you couldn’t help the smile that graced over your face at the sight of him.
You couldn’t see it, but Mando was smiling too.
You stuck close to the buildings surrounding you, slowly making your way around to where Karga was, but the chaos was insane. You could barely see where the shots were coming from, let alone where you were sending them.
You looked around to find some other way, but what you did see was way better.
Mando was running to a huge cannon, and you watched him rip it off the tripod and start firing it at the stormtroopers.
Your hopes were on the rise.
You saw a dark black death trooper place a detonator on the wall of Mando’s former cage, and you panicked when you realized Cara was still in there.
You started to make your way over there when the explosion hit, but you were far enough away so that you didn’t feel any wave from it.
You continued to make your way over to her.
Your senses were going so crazy, that you didn’t even feel Moff Gideon enter the scene.
What you did feel, however, was the pain Mando felt when the Moff fired a shot directly into his helmet.
It hurt like hell, and you heard Mando cry out in pain.
You turned back to where Mando was, and you saw him take aim at Moff with his canon.
This is it, you thought. Moff Gideon is dead.
You wish you hadn’t been trained in the force so well, because the very next thing you felt was the pride in Moff’s chest when he realized how to take Mando out.
Your eyes widened and panic struck you like lighting.
Moff is gonna kill him.
“Mando,” you screamed, but it was too late.
Moff Gideon had already fired at the generator next to Mando, and you had no choice but to dive for cover. You shielded the child with your body, and you were lucky enough to not feel the effects of the explosion.
But Mando felt it all.
When the dust cleared, you saw Cara dragging, his body back inside while Karga and IG-11 followed her in.
You didn’t care about anything in that moment. And if you would have known merely weeks ago that you would run across a battle field with no armour and a child in your arms, you would have smacked yourself silly.
But you did it anyways.
You made it to the door right before it closed, and you stopped in your tracks when you almost ran right into Cara’s gun.
It was pointed right at you.
“Get out,” she said, and you raised the hand not holding the child in surrender.
“Cara please,” you plead. You could see Mando laying on the floor behind her, and your heart was breaking.
He was badly injured. You could feel it.
“You can kick me out as soon as you’d like. I promise. Just let me see him,” you ask.
The tears were starting to cloud your vision and you tried not to let your voice crack. You didn’t want Cara to think you were trying to manipulate her.
But your Mandalorian was dying behind her.
“I promise,” you say, and she finally lowers your blaster.
“Thank you,” you respond, letting a breath out of your mouth as you do it, and you run to kneel beside Mando.
Of all the pain you’ve experienced in your life, you had learned a lot about it. You had learned that you personally deal better with pain when you have something to squeeze in your hand, like a pillow or the arm of a chair. You’ve learned that there are people in the world who enjoy making others feel pain, and no matter how many times you try, you just can’t understand why. You’ve learned that bacta shots work wonders for physical pain, but mental pain is almost impossible to numb.
But worse of all, you’ve learned that watching people you care for in pain is the worst pain in the world.
And this one hurt.

Hickeys and shattered hearts / Maria Hill x Stark!reader / Natasha x Stark!reader
A/N:This one's kinda sad but also kinda cute idk
Warning: Light angst, cursing ofc.
дорогой - Sweetheart
---------------------🕸🕷----------------------
You were new to the Avenfers despite being Tony Starks sister. They didn't know he had a sister because he never told them per your request. And only introduced yourself during the battle of New York showing up in an iron suit.
Although you had already worked for Shield even before Tony did as an agent. You helped him build some of his suits, even made your own
Tony and you were slightly different from each other with you being more on the nicer and sweeter side but still had his wit and sass.
You got along with the rest of them team really well, especially with a certain red headed assassin. Natasha had gotten to like you a lot after a few years of being colleagues, though was a complete wreck at asking you out.
Now you and the Avengers are in Sokovia battling with Ultron and his iron legion alongside new additions. Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.
"So when do you think help is on the way." You blasted through the robots that were lined up. "Any minute now cavalry."
"I didn't say we should leave.." You hear Natasha as you land to the ground. "There's worse ways to go." She finishes, you open your mask to breath a little better. "This isn't exactly how I planned mine to be." You said taking a few deep breaths.
"Where else am I gonna get a view like this." She motioned about the floating country. "Only once in a lifetime." You try to see through the smoke.
"I hope you like the view Romanoff. It's about to get better." Fury says through the coms as the helicarrier emerges up from the clouds and smoke. "Nice right? Pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty but she'll do."
"Fury you son of a bitch." You and Steve say as you looked in awe at the flying ship. "Oh, you two kiss your mother with that mouth?"
"I wouldn't really call her my mother, but yes I do kiss her with my mouth." You grinned as mask closed again ready for the second wave. Nat didn't know you were in a relatiowith someone only till a few weeks ago.
You were searching up on new technology to improve you and you brothers suits. Recently discovering about Nanotechnology, after days of research you've only managed to create a protoype for only the helmet.
You heard the door knock and said out a come in. "Hey, Y/N have you seen Bruce?" Natasha came in as you still had on the mask thst only reached the bottom of your neck.
"No sorry, haven't seen him since like an hour ago. Maybe he's in his room I guess." You shrugged as the mask slowly disappeared like it was dissolving from your face.
"Whoah how'd you do that you fuckin wizard or something." Nat looked at you surprised. "Cool right?" You grinned at her as you put the tech on a mannequin.
"I'll go find him, sorry to bother you." She smiled a little. "Yeah no problem." You focused on the computer. She was nearly out of the room when she noticed a bruise on the side of your neck.
Once you turned around a little it showed more purple and red spots on your neck. "Y/N.." She trailed as you looked up at her. "Yeah?"
"What happened to." She motioned to her neck and you looked at her in confusion. "Huh? Why? Is there something wrong?" You asked still confused.
"Look at the mirror." Her tone laced with a hint of jealously. "I don't what's- Oh!" You cut off your own sentence when you saw you reflection in the mirror. Red and purple marks scattered on your neck.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry you had to see that!" Shrieking you activated the mask again hide them and your embarrassed face.
You hit your head on palm of your habd a few times chanting to yourself that you were stupid to not notice. "Look, it's ok, I've seen worse. Do you want me to help you with it?" Nat brushed of the feeling in the pit of her stomach.
"No no, I don't want to take away more time from you. I can just cover this up with some make up." The front of the mask opened as you had a sorry smile for her. But Natasha wanted to stay longer, she wanted to stay with you.
"Ok just, just call me if you need anything." She said as you let out a final apology and a thank you. "F.R.I.D.A.Y, please call Agent Hill immediately please." You command the A.I thingking that the ex russian spy was gone.
"What is it Stark? Somethibg happened?" Maria said from the other line. Natasha hid behind a wall to eavesdrop, yes it was wrong, but she just wanted an answer to her question.
"Don't Stark me Hill, you know what exactly happened." You spat before sending a photo to her. "I can't believe you didn't tell me before I left!" You sighed running a hand through your hair.
"I don't get what- Oh, Oh!" Maria stopped midway when she saw the photo you sent. "Well you didn't exactly say anything when we were-" "Don't you dare finish that sentence Hill or I will slap you across the face." You threatened through gritted teeth.
Natasha left not needing and not wanting to hear your conversation. She only asked for Bruce to have an excuse to see you.
Now she's left to go to the gym to blow off some steam and to avoid her heart from shattering entirely.
"I think I know who you're talking about. You two together the whole night at the party right?" Clint said as he smirked at you as you flew past him.
"You're seeing someone and you didn't tell me? I feel betrayed- I am betrayed." Tony sounded genuinely upset over the fact that Clint new and not him.
"We agreed not to tell anyone, and that anyone including you brother." You said matter of factly.
You saw Clint rushing behind a rock with a little boy trying to get to cover from the iron legion who were about to rain bullets on them.
Also noticing a blue and silver trail speeding towards them, you land right infront of Pietro and Clint shielding the three from the bullets, after they were done it was your turn to start beaming at them.
"What you didn't see that coming?" Opening the front of your mask to smirk at Pietro who looked at you like you were crazy.
"After this Fury, I'm gonna take a break. I've seen enough robots for the year. Person I am seeing you owe me a date." You say taking down a few more robots.
"I am going to pretend I didn't see her nod her head and smile. Stark you two have sone explaining to do before any dates will happen." Fury eyed Maria giving the 'Really? You two?' look.
The three of you got on to one of the ships to the helicarrier. "I'm sorry for what's about to happen." You apologetically glance at Pietro about Sokovia.
"Not exactly the way I wanted my chapter to end, but I guess it's something. This is where my family was made, this was also where it was destroyed, and where my twin and I made into well.. Whatever we are." His thick accent following through every word..
After the battle with Ultron, the civilians were given the help that they needed. "Having fun staring at the wall? It's an interesting wall don't get me wrong." You smiled as you walked towards Natasha.
"What'd you call me for? You need help finding Bruce again?" You asl as she shook her head turning to fully look at you.
"Not really, I just wanted to tell you something." Nat looked nervous which surprised you for the very first time. "It's about you."
"Me?" You pointed to yourself. "I- jesus christ this is harder than I thought." Nat let out a heavy sigh as you put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey its ok, take your time." You reassured her.
"I like you." She knew that you knew what it meant and was expecting to take your hand of her shoulder but you didn't. "I'm sorry Nat I really am, you're an amazing person."
"I know you can't, that's why I'm telling you this to let it out of my chest." Sadness was evident in her tone but she had to accept the fact the you can't love her back.
"I'll go beat up Hill if she hurts you." Nat joked as you pushed her shouler lightly. "We still friends?" You mumble as you pulled her to a hug.
She reciprocated by wrapping her arms around you. "Always." She said against your shoulder. "I better not find you downing a bottle of vodka later." You threatened as she just chuckled.
"I'll try not to." She says as you pulled away from the hug to glare at her. "No promises дорогой." She playfully smirked at you.
Natasha swore to herself to be there for you until the end. Not as lovers but as friends. Always and forever
Natasha left with Steve because they were evaluating the new recuits for the Avengers, she asked you if you wanted to come with her but you declined saying you were gonna meet with someone.
"Hey.." Maria said as she leaned against a wall seeing you walk down the halls. "Hi, were you waiting for me?" You ask as you walked closer to the Agent.
"No I wasn't." She simply replied as she looked at you and smiled "Really? Cause you looked like you were waiting for me." You raised a brow at her staring at hers, cold blue eyes thst somehow radiated warmth whenever she looked at you.
"Maybe I was maybe I wasn't." She smirked at you causing you to roll your eyes by her answer. "What were you doing before going here?" She asked as you two walked together.
"Oh I jusst rejected someone." You sighed rethingking what happened earlier. "Was it Natasha?" Maria says non chalanty.
You looked at her with a 'how the fuck.' face. "How the fuck did you know?" Your eyes wide as they can be. "I've known for a while know. At first I was worried about it."
"Oh yeah? Why so?" "Because I love you and you love me, simple as that." She gave a quick peck before walking ahead of your blushing face.
"Atleast kiss me properly Agent." You caught up to her and pulled her down for a proper kiss, instinctively placing her hand on your waist.
You pulled away as Maria was about to deepen in. "Although I'd love to but I only said for a proper kiss." Now it was your turn to give her quick peck before walking ahead of her.
"This so very cringey but also so cute at the same time." Coulson solighed as he saw the whole thing happen.

Tumblr Messed Up Fill #3
Tumblr media
Ok, let's continue on with the accidental published fills! @xblacksilver I hope you like this, it's a bit less fluffy than I wanted it to be but I needed to continue my SilkTea fic and this couldn't leave my mind!
It was the fourth time Huntsman had seen the ship, the third time he had set foot on it willingly... and the first time he had come for no reason at all.
Oh, he tried to make one up. Parts for the new spider mech? Well, once he had delivered what Sandy had proffered for him Syntax made quick work on improvements to the bots to hunt out more and better materials. Tea? Nope, Sandy had apparently snuck multiple bags into his coat pocket without his knowledge (sneaky bastard). He had nothing to inform him of, he’d laid everything out on the table.
So why was he here?
Try as he might, Huntsman could not think of a single reasonable explanation for why he found himself on the bow of Sandy’s boat. At 7 PM. In the daylight.
Except, well, that was a blatant bold faced lie. He could think of one.
But he would rather face the Ruyi Jingu Bang, literally face it as it was about to slam into him, than admit that he was here just because he wanted to see the other man.
And yet here he was.
Sitting on Sandy’s couch and enjoying yet another cup of tea while being accosted by his many many cats. He didn’t bother to remove them this time, his normal clothes long since abandoned elsewhere in favor of some simple pants and a turtleneck sweater. Despite how warm it got outside he never seemed to keep nearly enough body heat in himself to wear anything less... and he would be lying to himself if he didn’t find some comfort in the body heat of the felines against his sides and neck.
He could do without the fur but this was probably as good as he was going to get.
Sandy had welcomed him inside with only a little surprise, looking around to see if they were alone before gesturing for the spider demon to come in and take his now usual spot (usual spot, he did not want to unpack what that meant in his head), before going to make the tea they now shared between them.
“Is there something you need?” Sandy had asked, so non-confrontational and curious that Huntsman fought with himself to find a reasonable excuse instead of just blurting out the truth against his better judgement.
“Just to get out of the lair for a while,” was his answer. And it wasn’t entirely a lie.
He did want to get out, go somewhere else. Syntax didn’t need his assistance for the bots any more than Goliath needed his assistance building the mech itself. And Spider Queen was content enough overseeing the two of them that he felt... unneeded at the moment.
They never said that to him, and it didn’t make him feel upset or lesser. It was just a fact. Huntsman was not needed at the moment and was free to do as he pleased not that his part in rebuilding the mech was finished for the moment.
So he just... chose to come here. Told them he was going on a reconnaissance mission for information and that he didn’t know when he’d be back, just to cover himself as best he could.
They believed him, oddly enough. Except maybe Syntax believed him a bit less, a sharp reminder to keep the communicator watch he had just built for the four of them on him in case of an emergency.
They sat in blissful silence for a few minutes just enjoying tea and the warmth of the cats. And for a moment Huntsman thought that would be enough for him.
Until Sandy asked "Who are you, exactly?" out of the blue, making Huntsman blink and look at him in confusion.
"You know who I am," he replied with a raised brow and an off kilter smile. This was certainly not the direction he expected any conversation to take at all. "Why ask a question you already know the answer to?"
"I don't," Sandy said with more firmness in his tone than the agile old spider had heard from him in a long while. Granted, they had only had three real conversations before now. "I know your name is Huntsman. That you're a hunter. You work for the Spider Queen and that you're working against the White Bone Spirit. But I don't know who you are."
Oh.
OH.
“Th-that’s not exactly important,” Huntsman tried to argue, stuttering on his words despite himself. Why would such a simple request make him feel so... awkward? “Because there isn’t much else to me than that!”
“You enjoy Osmanthus flower tea,” Sandy said, crossing his arms as he looked at the other with a softening expression. “Paired with sour candy. You look at my cats like they’re annoying but you let them literally walk all over you. You could have simply ignored my offer and gone about your life the way it was before but you chose not to. You came to me for help. That’s a lot ‘much else’ to me.”
Maybe it was the way Sandy said it, so serious but soft at the same time. Maybe it was the wording of the last sentence. Maybe it was because he finally realized how ridiculous this entire situation was and that he had put himself into it intentionally despite his lack of understanding why he did it. Maybe it was because no one else had ever listed out the weird stuff he did so plainly.
But Huntsman laughed. Not the same wheezy chuckle or the smarmy nastily snicker he’d let be heard by the Monkie Kid or his companions. But a proper laugh that bubbled up from his chest and took over his form like a tidal wave.
He wrapped his arms around his stomach, not used to the sudden pain that laughing heartily could cause in his rib cage, and did his best to cease the laughter as quickly as possible.
“I’m sorry but “that’s a lot ‘much else’ to me”?” He snickered, choosing to go with the second option for his laughter. “That sounds like something Goliath would say, I wasn’t expecting that.”
“Goliath?” Sandy asked, now looking more confused than anything else before he brightened. “Oh! You mean the big guy on your side!”
“He may look scary, but let me tell you...” Huntsman leaned in conspiratorially, whispering the rest of his sentence. “He’s almost as much of a softie as you are when you get past him tough mask for our Queen.”
“Oh?” Sandy smiled even brighter, not as soft as his other secret smile but just as genuine, and Huntsman felt his chest (his heart) thump at it once again. “What about the other guy? What’s his name?”
“Syntax? Oh, the things I could tell you about him!”
~
It was funny. Huntsman didn’t find himself hesitating in the slightest as he regaled Sandy about his little Spider Demon group at all. Once again he wondered if the man had access to some kind of truth serum, but again he remembered he started this without anything that could have been attached to one.
There was just... something about the man. About his home. The smell of the tea and the warmth so much greater than his lair home. It just made him... at ease.
So at ease that he had completely lost track of time until they’d gone through multiple cups of tea and snacks and Huntsman realized it was well past sundown.
“You can stay here if you need to,” Sandy offered, just as out of the blue as his initial question that started his lost time tracking.
But as awkward as Huntsman thought the idea of staying would be... he couldn’t find himself declining the offer. He was tired, after all, and the couch was here while home was far away in the cold of the evening. And he would have to chance before returning, to hide the evidence of where he had been.
So he found himself laying on Sandy’s couch, warm and content and staring at the ceiling and worrying about what this meant for him. He was good at going with the flow, that’s what hunters did. They followed their prey, went with their flow, until they snared them. But Huntsman wasn’t tracking Sandy at all, he was just... going along with him.
Maybe he had a subconscious desire to get him on their side so the Monkie Kid was less likely to fight against them and rather with them against their mutual foe. Maybe that was all it was.
Or maybe there was something else that he just refused to even acknowledge was even there.
He jumped at something vibrated against his wrist, completely forgetting about the communicator that Syntax had told him to wear. He wasn’t as adept with tech as the others, but after a little fiddling he got the hand of the thing and realized that he had been sent a text message on it.
From... Syntax.
“Since you have not returned I can only deduce that you are either deceased or have found a safe place for refuge through the evening. Should you still be among the living please do not allow anyone to incapacitate you in your rest.”
That was... well, that was like Syntax he supposed. To the point but wordier than necessary. And yet it was nice, oddly, to know that the other seemed to be concerned for Huntsman’s well being in his own way.
He sent a reply back, a simple “k” that he knew would infuriate the other. He couldn’t help it, Syntax was far too easy to rile up and it was far to amusing to see the results. Many of which came to his watch in quick succession, showing that Syntax both got the message and was giving him a nice rant about it that he would check in the morning.
As Huntsman curled up on his side and started to drift off he realized something. In all his talking about the rest of the group he never did tell Sandy about himself...
He wondered why the other didn’t push it.

Retcon
noun
(in a film, television series, or other fictional work) a piece of new information that imposes a different interpretation on previously described events, typically used to facilitate a dramatic plot shift or account for an inconsistency.
verb
revise (an aspect of a fictional work) retrospectively, typically by introducing a piece of new information that imposes a different interpretation on previously described events.
Retroactive Continuity
Reframing past events to serve a current plot need. [...] In its most basic form, this is any plot point that was not intended from the beginning. [...]
Post-hiatus C2, and the Great Retcon...
(The retconning really started with the playlists, but we’ll come back to those.)
First, some context:
SDCC (July ‘18) - Marisha was asked directly about Beau and Yasha and if she and Ashley had discussed it. “After the first few times that I kinda put the moves on her, we were at break, and I could sense that Ashley was wanting to ask me something. And she was like, ‘Hey, I’m just curious... is Beau- ’ And at that exact moment someone’s like, ‘Yo Ashley! We gotta go! We gotta get on stage!’ And I was like, ‘Bye!’” Then Brian asked, “And you haven’t had a further conversation about it?” Marisha said, “Nope!”
(Seven months into the campaign, and no discussions. Hmm.)
NYCC (Oct. ‘18) - Marisha was asked about who would Beau get flustered over if they ever flirted back, and yes, she said Yasha and laughed, but then said, “It’s like throwing pebbles at a brick wall.” Meaning, she was putting stuff out there and not getting anything back. (And, she really wasn’t. I still remember when a major portion of the fandom, including the diehard shippers [of which I was one at the time], weren’t sure if Ashley was even interested in this. More than that, it wasn’t until the Zuala reveal, that the fandom and the players found out for certain that Yasha was actually into women.)
(To me, Marisha’s answer here also suggests that at this point, there were still no discussions.)
Talks Machina for ep61 (May ‘19) - Marisha was asked ‘What was going through Beau's mind when Yasha revealed her past with Zuala? Has this changed any feelings Beau might have? Or has Beau's character growth allowed her to mature a little more with regards to her feelings about Yasha?’ Which Marisha instantly pegged as a shipping question. And she said, “I’m trying to figure out a way to answer this to not ruin everyone’s internal canon, in their brains. I don’t want people to overestimate Beau’s intentions towards Yasha. But then also, is that on me? Have I been leading everybody on?”
So, you had all of that, all the way up to ep61.
None of this indicates that ‘it’s been happening since ep1′ or that it’s ‘the slowest of slow burns.’ In fact, it shuts that down completely.
Moving forward to the Beau and Fjord convo (ep108)...
Marisha suddenly having Beau say “There was something about Yasha from the moment that I saw her”. She’s retrospectively attempting to give that moment more weight, when (based on the examples above) we know that the over-the-top flirting was just for fun. And truthfully, she really wasn’t flirting with Yasha any differently than she was flirting with any hot female NPC the party crossed paths with.
And now it’s clear that that one line she said is the reason why BY shippers have suddenly clung on to the idea that “It’s been happening since episode one! SLOooOowBuUuuUrn!!!!!” when its clear that it was not planned. (Not before the hiatus-from-hell, anyway.)
Then Marisha having Beau go from describing Jester as “She's fun. She makes me laugh. I like her ridiculous plans. I think she's complicated and layered.” to “It’s easy to lust after her”. I’ll direct you to Talks for ep85. After Marisha had mentioned that it was a bunch of little things that build, and then pinpointed a few of them, Brian tried to make a joke and said “So you’re saying it’s been more a series, than just one moment that you can point to and say ‘It was right here when I went, let’s fuck!’” Marisha specifically countered that with “It’s not even about 'let’s fuck’. It’s nothing sexual in this case.” (Having her backpedal on this so heavily was such a huge gut punch and was the thing that wholly soured everything for me.)
There were so many better, more delicate ways Marisha could’ve had Beau examine/come to grips with her feelings for both women, but all the reduction and saying they were ‘transferable’ was nothing short of insulting.
On that same Talks episode, Marisha also said this: “Going into this campaign all of us were like, ‘No relationships!’ I didn’t want it! I didn’t ask for this!”, while smiling. What this shows me is that she was thinking of a relationship in regards to Beau’s feelings for Jester. As if she was maybe even anticipating this culminating into something? Why even mention relationships at all if this was nothing serious and was always meant to fall by the wayside?
Brian then followed up with, “In my opinion, as a viewer, Beau’s someone who seems to be on the search for innocence. Whether innocence lost or just innocence in general. And to me it makes sense that you would be attracted to someone who exudes genuine and sort of intrinsic innocence.” Marisha replied with “Fairly astute.”
The next question was, ‘Beau has taken a pretty casual, no-strings-attached approach toward sex and relationships so far. How do her feelings for Jester compare to her previous romantic flings?’ Marisha answered immediately and very seriously with, “Noncomparable. It’s more than that.” She wasn’t playing coy and it didn’t take her a century to find the words. She didn’t even have to think about it. Succinct and direct.
How did all of that ‘organically’ disappear completely, after only 14 episodes?
(Everything felt more genuine back then, because it seemed like Marisha was going where the character was taking her, and not where she thought the character should be going.)
Post-hiatus, everyone and their mother are acting like BY is some epic romance-of-the-ages that was all mapped out, and like Beau having feelings for Jester was just some sort of temporary curveball. That Beau was confused, or was just missing Yasha and projected onto Jester.
That’s really fucked up no matter how you try to justify it. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen another piece of media backpedal this hard, and this callously.
None of that squares with what we were shown or with what we were told. Until, everybody made a hard pivot and now they've done (and continue to) do everything they can to rewrite campaign history, even though we have plenty of footage that contradicts the new ‘company line’.
Now, where the retconning truly began, with the playlists...
Remember the first round of playlists? Those were released randomly, whenever the cast felt like posting them. I also don’t remember there being announcements every time one came out either.
This time though, they had a fixed schedule, complete with official twitter announcements. As they started to just get back into the swing of things, Yasha’s playlist was released right after the first episode back.
So, right out of the gate, they had to make sure they started to drill home a certain mindset for viewers. That’s why Yasha had a song called ‘Let Me Hold You’. (Lo and behold, a few episodes in, Beau randomly asks Yasha to hold her.)  A few weeks later, Beau’s playlist was released, and there was a song with the caption saying ‘Ultimately, all she really wants is someone to hold, and someone to hold her’. (But sure, no planning here! The wording is just a total coincidence, folks!)
The other song, directly about Yasha, mentions ‘a crush forged in battle’ (ok), and ‘awkward flirtations’ (???). Yasha never openly flirted with Beau before the hiatus, until maybe right after the Obann arc, in a very vague way.
On Beau’s playlist, there’s nothing about Jester. The one track that mentions her is actually about Artagan. Which, after all they’ve been through together, is fucking ridiculous no matter how you slice it.
In addition to that, Marisha had made Beau’s time in Kamordah (ep92/e93), and the incidents with her family and the Hag, about the group now, not about Jester, fully contradicting her own reiterated words that ‘Jester saved Beau’.
When Beau was talking to her dad, reverting back to her old self and getting all riled up, Jester helped her in that moment, and saved her. Yes, the group was very supportive, and yes, Yasha said something to him before they left the house (that Beau was out of earshot for by the way), but Jester was Beau’s rock throughout that whole thing.
With the Hag, when the group was having a hard time coming up with a solution, and they realized they might actually lose Beau, Jester stepped up and took control of the situation. She, single-handedly, saved Beau/the group from the Hag. And with that, Jester also became Beau’s hero.
In both instances, Marisha thanked Laura/Jester. First on Talks for ep92 with both of them on it. She reiterated, “You saved me. You saved Beau.” Then on Twitter after ep93 with, “Still processing last night. Saved by a cupcake? Eh - saved by @LauraBaileyVO ... again.”
But now suddenly, it’s the group. Just the group?
Now, don’t get me wrong. The entire party showing Beau support was incredibly important. The M9 showed her that they value her, that she’s important to them. It solidified the theme of ‘found family’, which was beautiful. But, to not also highlight how crucial Jester was in all of this, after making such a big deal about it?
That is very deliberate retconning of some hugely important, highly emotional moments for Beau that directly involved Jester.
Any of Beau’s organic and genuine connection with Jester (which encompasses their deep friendship as well as Beau’s romantic feelings) has been massively reduced (and now erased), specifically to prop up a supposed ‘deep’ connection with someone else that was barely ever there, is still barely there, and has no actual depth at all.
Case in point, the BY date (ep126) showcased this fact to the most extreme degree...
Yasha’s infamous line: “I fell in love with you in Kamordah.” So, Yasha literally watched Beau relive her childhood trauma, and caught feelings during it. I’m not wrong in thinking that that’s just a little disturbing, am I? Also, if that’s the moment she supposedly fell for her, why did she not offer her any form of help? I mean, besides that one sweet moment with TJ, the entire time Beau was in Kamordah, she was the most broken down she’d ever been and needed some real comfort, which is something Yasha did not give her. (Jester did though. In spades.)
So, on multiple levels, this seems highly out-of-place.
Several people have said that that line was not thought through. In my opinion, it actually was thought through and was only said specifically to have viewers completely dismiss everything else that happened in the Kamordah episodes. Despite the FACT that Beau and Yasha barely interacted during those episodes, they have now stripped down the party’s experience there, and twisted it into a giant BY shipping moment. (Further feeding into the retcon.)
Their ‘trip down memory lane’ was laughable. Most of the things that were mentioned, Yasha wasn’t even around for.
Gee, remember when the cast was actually good at separating what they knew from what their character knew? When you start injecting what you know into your character (who isn’t supposed to know, because they literally were not physically there), you are metagaming.
The entire date was one big metagaming bonanza. And it had to be, or else they would’ve had nothing to talk about. There is not one thing they have to call their own. To people who don’t have BY tunnel vision, it was made glaringly obvious that they have nothing in common and their dynamic is fairly shallow. Meanwhile, the rest of the cast are sitting there watching this unfold, smiling and nodding along as if it all makes perfect sense and isn’t utterly ridiculous. (And I’m sitting here wondering when I got shunted into the Twilight Zone.)
The shallowness holds true for FJ as well. Aside from both of them being from the Menagerie Coast, what exactly do they have in common?
While Fjord has grown as a character, as far as Jester goes, he still does not seem to have the capacity to fully understand her as a person, or fully respect her abilities/emotional strength/intelligence. He doubted her often, which led to Jester getting irritated with him several times over the course of at least the last third of the pre-hiatus episodes. He even continued to doubt her judgment (in regards to the Traveler) in the post-hiatus Rumblecusp episodes. But hey, they’ve kissed now (ep118) so all of that gets wiped clean, and he’s being touted as her ultimate romantic soulmate who’s oh-so-perfect for her.
For fuck’s sake, why does that sound like something pulled right out of a CW show?
(I'm convinced that the only reason FJ is ‘popular’ is because the shippers have projected Travis and Laura’s real-life marriage onto the characters. If Fjord and Jester were played by different people, or Travis and Laura were not together, people would realize how paper-thin and half-assed this pairing is and hardly anyone would care about it.)
Beau and Jester had developed the deepest, most genuine friendship and overall dynamic in the entire party, that should have absolutely been given the chance to be explored further. They constructed a pretty solid foundation that could have easily been built upon, and the fact that it’s been unceremoniously pulverized and snuffed out in favor of such overwhelming tepidity and flavorlessness will never not infuriate me.
Finally, to finish this off, I will say with my whole chest, that that is one of many nasty, rotten patterns that I’ve seen far too much of in all kinds of scripted media, which is...
Not wanting to commit to the thing that’s actually growing organically, because it’ll ruffle too many feathers. It’s too inconvenient. It gets in the way. Because of course, nobody wants to do that. Nobody wants to take a risk, or you know, actually follow where the natural fucking chemistry is taking you. Of course not! Heaven forbid, we go down a different road! You have to go with what’s ‘expected’, no matter what, at the great expense of something new that’s come along that’s clearly better. Even when what’s expected is hollow as fuck and doesn’t make sense anymore, because characters have grown and dynamics have changed, they decide to dig their heels in with the most fanservice-y options instead.
Yet this is UNSCRIPTED media. A D&D campaign, that’s supposed to be mostly improvised. D&D, that’s all about taking chances/going with your gut/making bold choices/etc., from people who have claimed up and down that they “like to see things play out at the table”.
So why are those same disingenuous patterns being utilized here too?
One of the big reasons I got into CR was because I naively believed that because the format was different, that the storytelling would be different. I thought I wouldn’t have to worry about running into this nonsense here. That I wouldn’t have to worry about getting bullshitted, jerked around, and having my intelligence insulted left and right, but alas, here we are.
In conclusion...  [TL;DR, kinda?]
Reframing past events (between B & J, and B & Y) to serve a current plot need (railroading BY):
Beau playlist ignores Jester’s importance to what transpired in Kamordah. (minimizing/erasure)
Beau playlist doesn’t acknowledge/hint at Beau’s feelings for Jester. (total erasure. could have at least included a song about feelings being lost, or being confused about feelings for a friend, but Marisha took the cowardly route, and didn’t bother mentioning it at all.)
Beau playlist claims that Beau and Yasha have both been flirting forever. (easily debunked by session footage.)
In her conversation with Fjord, Beau says, “There was something about Yasha from the moment I saw her”. (it was just about hooking up then, and stayed that way for a majority of the campaign. This line suggests that Beau has had ‘deeper feelings’ for and/or has been ‘in love’ with Yasha since the first episode, that this was all intentional build-up, which again, is easily debunked by session footage, panels, and TM.)
In her conversation with Fjord, Beau says, “It’s easy to lust after her.” (minimizing/erasure/twisting of Beau’s feelings for Jester, which Marisha had previously stated were ‘noncomparable’ , ‘more than that’, and that her attraction is ‘nothing sexual in this case.’)
This isn’t a fucking conspiracy theory. This is plain evidence of a planned retcon.

Genre: Cotton, Character focus Relationship: Platonic. Sibling-ship Characters: Cyn and N Time set: Long ago, in the manor, before the entire mess sprouted due to the AS ------------------------- (No one's pov)
Darkness. That is what the little girl woke up to. Darkness and nothing else. She was surrounded by death and decaying corpses of others like her. She was all on her own. She didn't know how she was awake, she didn't understand how she got here. The last thing she knew was that she was home, with her humans and now… The fear settled into her core, before slowly diminishing as dread filled her once she realized what was around her, where she was exactly, but it did not take long for her to start crying. A helpless innocent soul beginning to be brought out of this darkness, to see the light, to feel safe, to be cared for, to be held dear to someone.
Steps and voices, a shovel and the pure intent of a kind heart, and she was out from under the pile she was once under. She tried to get up but her legs were wobbly and her head didn't sit right, making her loose balance and fall over as a young girl tried to help her up, setting aside the shovel that she had used. "It's ok. Take it easy now. Welcome back little one. What's your name?" "M-my name? W-where- where am I? Who are you?" "Now it may sound rough but it appears that you had been discarded-" The young drone's eyes widened in utter shock as the girl tried to speak up, but she immediately cut her off, not wanting to hear one more of those awful words. "I want to go home! Ma! Ma!" The girl cried out desperately as she panicked, moving away from the young human girl, tripping on the shovel and falling on her back, hitting herself in the process, as the acknowledgement of being thrown away like a broken toy hurt her more than the impact with the ground causing bitter tears to her face. It didn't matter how loud she cried, how heavily she tried to run back from where she came from, the human girl picked her up with ease and brought her to her own home, trying to reassure the little drone that she'll be alright, but how alright could she truly be? She was about to become the new addition of a sickening collection. Just another new toy, a new experiment, a project, something to manipulate and use to her will. She too was wounded, from the lack of her parents love, but in her ways she did not understand that the way she treated her drones, while significantly better than how her parents treated her and them, it was still poisoned and wicked. Now if she was or not at fault for that there was no way of saying, but that begs the question, how could you watch such a delicate being and decide that it's purpose it's to entertain you and fill the void of your own heart?
She dressed her up, more specially than the others, giving her one of her very bows to wear, but no matter how much of a prized possession she seemed to have been in the eyes of her founder the young drone still ached.
"Hey there buddy, what's wrong?" A void called out to her confused and slightly sadden by the grief and pain that she seemed to have put on display. "I want to go home." The little drone said sniffing and gasping as the other drone gently brought her into a soft embrace. "It's ok, it's alright… you're home now." "N-no! I want m-my home" The girl said between hiccups and gasps as the young butler kept her in his grasp nonetheless, gently rubbing her back. "I am sorry buddy… I don't think we can do that…but hey! Home's where you feel like it. So how about we do that instead huh? What do you like to do? I like to read about dogs! What about you?" The young butler said as he looked down at the small little girl who looked up at him confused. Someone…was asking about her. Someone was asking what she wants, how she wants to feel, and what they can do to help her feel better. Someone cared for her. After such a long time, finally, someone had genuine care and love for her, or at least tried to.
"I like-" The girl stopped mid sentence, thinking of what she truly liked. She was so used to being the entertainment tool of another being that she never realised…
That she didn't know what she even liked, so she began to think harder, past her pain, beyond her need of affection and care, pushing aside her past desire of wanting to make someone else happy, she pondered if she found anything that she truly liked in the path of her journey where she used to try and please another.
"I like, tea parties." The girl said after some time as she looked up at the butler. Tea parties, a small little gathering where you get to talk with someone, to enjoy the warmth of a drink, and the warmth of another person. This young butler wanted to know her, so now, she wanted to know him as well. "Ooooh, tea parties! Those sure are fun! I am not much of a tea person, but I sure like the biscuits!" The boy said with an enthusiastic tone, trying to get the girl's thoughts off from her pain, distracting her, which in the long run is no remedy for pain, but just for a few moments of joy when one so desperately needs it, it's enough. "My name is N! What's yours?" The young butler said as he looked at the little girl with a soft smile. "My name is…Cyn." "Well Cyn, how about we go and have a tea party right now, huh? We could even watch a movie!" N said, giving out his hand to help her get up, and she took it. For once, she felt like she…belonged.
He became big brother N, and she's got all sorts of nicknames, but the most used one was buddy. N would read to her about dogs, he would have tea parties with her. They would watch movies, together, and whenever there was free time, N would play with dolls with Cyn. With time, Cyn grew more and more attached to him. In the beginning she was hesitant, what if she'll be thrown aside again? What if her worth will fade as quickly? What if he won't care for her anymore? But that day never came.
N showed her all around the mansion, and taught her what duties had to be done around the manor. He taught her how to make tea, he taught her how to clean glasses, he taught her how to walk all over again, taking small steps with her, regardless of the glares they received on the hallways.
Cyn became pretty good, sure she wasn't given overly difficult tasks since she was still mainly Tessa's 'favourite' but she did her few tasks pretty well, that is when she remembered to do them. She simply had such a good time with N, that at times she would forget that she was still a drone, that she still had duties and that she couldn't just be a little girl and enjoy herself.
Even so, all of that bother and work felt like nothing, because she got to do those task with N. He would be there with her, in the same room, he'd done one task, and she'd do another, sure she couldn't always follow him around, her legs didn't allow it, but he'd make sure to always come back to her as fast as he was done with the other job.
It was a bit difficult at times, she felt so scared and alone every time he left, as if she was about to be abandoned again, but those dark clouds of thoughts would be quickly thrown to the side when N would come back to her with a little treat, either bringing her a cup of tea or a plate with biscuits, as if to say 'here, we've got a couple of minutes just for our selves' and slowly, with time, it became the spot light of the day for her. Every child loves sweets after all, and as time passed, Cyn began to trust N more and more, truly trusting him. He wasn't the brightest pebble, that was very much obvious, getting walked all over with a smile on his face, Cyn didn't understand why he stood up for her but not for himself, so one day, she asked him.
"Big brother N. Why do you let J treat you so poorly but you don't treat her bad?" "Well… J's my friend!" "But…she hurts you." "Yes, she does, but, she doesn't really mean it, she just, has a hard time expressing her emotions, plus, she just wants the best for us! Always! Come on, don't think about that, how about we play a board game? I'm sure Tessa wouldn't mind us borrowing one of hers!"
Cyn was happy again, but as time passed, her damaged components started to be more obvious in her behaviour. She began to show more errors and issues, but Tessa's parents obviously didn't want to waste money to have her fixed, they would rather buy a new drone than fix an already existing one, and that could be shown with the grave yard of the drones they had.
Cyn was walking to the stairs of the manor, having to get to the down to the other side of the mansion to go and broom a room but… her grip was weak on the bar of the stairs… her head also suddenly dropped to the side, and due to her position, keeping her legs straight the sudden shift in the weight resulted in a rough tumbling down the stairs… "CYN!" a voice screamed out desperately as the loud sound of glass dropping on the floor and shattering into a million pieces was heard.
Cyn opened her eyes to find herself held tightly and protectively by none other than N. He saw her, from the other end of the stairs. He dropped the tray he was carrying at once and ran up the stairs to catch her and prevent her from falling any further or from hurting herself even more so. N breathed heavily from the sudden physical effort he placed himself in as he sat down on the stairs and leaned back, sitting down on one of the many stairs as he held Cyn closely to his chest, panting heavily as he stared up at the ceiling before looking down at her. "Are you alright buddy?" N asked with a small smile despite the worried look in his eyes. Cyn looked up at him and nodded. "Sheepish nod." Why…did she do that? Why did she say the action she did? Even N was startled by this, and soon they had a trip over to Tessa, with N carrying Cyn as much as possible, because when the girl tried to get on her own feet she nearly fell again.
They went on to learn that Cyn damaged her circuit board and that they couldn't do much about it just like her previous damaged parts since her parents couldn't be bothered to invest in repairs. Cyn had to stay with her knees pointed to the inside to balance out her sloppy head that would dangle from side to side, and to be able to keep her posture, and that would significantly make walking more difficult unless she had someone to hold to help herself to walk. That in it itself was a problem since Cyn didn't approach anyone other than N and didn't really talk to the others as she seemed terribly scared from approaching them since they looked at her puzzled, not knowing how to approach her. In those moments Cyn thought it was all over, that she'll be shut down once and for all, but that didn't happen, because N kept her there, because N made a stand for her, because N talked aloud when Tessa's parents got there wanted to discard of Cyn for being an 'anti-christ' like no other.
Sure, Cyn cared for N, and she knew he was the one that cared for her the most, but she never had an idea of how much exactly that was. She knew now.
But none of the harsh words spoken mattered to Cyn. She was finally happy, and she wanted her brother to be happy as well.
Poisonous thoughts crept into her mind, corrupting her, leaving no clear end where she began and where the cursed thoughts did, but that didn't matter. She was going to care for him, she was going to make sure that he will be fine, that her big brother N will be there always. The petals of her innocence began to fall to the ground, being withered by the coldness of the world, from the sickness that was running through her system against her will. Her time was ticking from the moment she woke up in that grave yard, but she ignored it, because all she cared for was her big brother N, and nothing would be allowed to take that from her, no matter what happens, no matter how little time she had left, she will live it to the max, she will be happy, even if it's just for so long… She will make sure that her big brother will be happy, always, even if she won't be there.
The end

I Don’t Own an IPhone: Wanna Trade? chapter 7
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Previous: “Good luck Marinette,” Jon said smiling holding his arms out and she ran over to hug him.“You too,” she whispered. The deal was on, and oh how chaotic it was going to be.
(song used I Hear a Symphony by Cody Fry)
Chapter 7: I Hear a Symphony
Jon wrung his wrists nervously standing in front of the apartment building. His text to Damian was left on read, no begging him to stay, no confirmation that they were even broken up. Jon reached into his pocket grabbing the folded piece of paper. He rung Adrien’s doorbell on the door number Marinette had told him and Adrien opened the door looking at him in shock.
“Oh, hey,” Adrien said hand rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
“Hey, um Marinette told me what happened, I’m really sorry about your loss,” Jon said blue eyes glazed over in sadness showing Adrien he was truly sorry.
“Uh thanks, Marinette and I actually broke up last night so now I have no one to go back to the house with, did you want to come with me?” Adrien offered and Jon nodded.
“I’ll be there for you,” Jon said smiling lightly. The two started their trek across the city glancing at each other every now and then going to say something but both figuring it would be better to walk in silence. When they arrived at the house or more like manor Jon smiled at the familiarity of feeling less than, it wasn’t a bad feeling in fact it was welcome considering how nice the Waynes were to him.
Adrien stopped as the gate opened, his father stood there welcoming him.
“Who is this, where is Marinette?” Gabriel asked confused.
“This is Jon, he’s a friend. Marinette and I actually broke up last night, things just weren’t working out,” Adrien said to his father who’s eyes softened.
“I’m sorry she wasn’t the one for you Adrien, you know I’ll accept whoever you love into the family with open arms my son,” Gabriel said holding his son’s shoulder in affection.
“Thank you father, I’m going to go show Jon to my room if that’s ok?” Adrien asked and his father nodded. Adrien took Jon’s hand dragging him up to his room the grand piano caught Jon’s eyes first.
“You play?” Jon asked and Adrien nodded.
“Not for a while, I might be a bit rusty, my father always has me play on this day every year,” Adrien said walking over and sitting down at the piano lifting the lid hands hovering over the ivory keys. “Sorry, I just don’t know what to play,” Adrien said and Jon reached into his pocket again and handed him the paper.
“Don’t play until I tell you ok?” Jon said and Adrien nodded. Jon took a deep breath sitting atop the piano. He looked at Adrien who was studying the upcoming notes and smiled opening his mouth.
Gabriel had a good feeling about this boy Adrien had brought into his home, he seemed a lot like Adrien’s previous partner. He heard a laugh and nodded to Nathalie to come up to Adrien’s room with him listening in on their conversation. The boy had written a song for his son to play, just like Emilie used to do for him. Gabriel felt pain crawl into his heart along with pride, yes, this boy will do nicely. Nathalie looked at him expressing his inner emotion outward on her face, soft smile etching it’s way onto her soft features. A deep breath knocked him from his thoughts. The voice of an angel started singing and Gabriel closed his eyes ready to hear what he had to say.
“I used to hear a simple song, that was until you came along. Now in its place is something new, I hear it when I look at you,” Jon sang softly nodding to Adrien who started playing heart beating fast. He didn’t want to mess up the masterpiece in front of him.
“With simple songs I wanted more, perfection is so quick to bore. You are more beautiful by far, our flaws are who we really are,” Jon sang and Adrien felt his face turn red looking up at him. This was too much.
Gabriel looked at Nathalie who had her eyes closed just like his were previously. This boy had talent, this was the one he wanted for his son no matter what plan he had before with Lila it could be replaced, he would get his son out of here and carry out his plan as Hawkmoth without having to worry about his son being in the way and if the italian girl had a problem with it he could simply bring up her harassment record to the police. He heard his son laugh playing happy for what felt like the first time in a long time.
Jon walked around the piano and sat next to Adrien leaning his head against the taller blond’s shoulder.
“I used to hear a simple song, that was until you came along. You took my broken melody, and now I hear a symphony. Woah, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,” Jon sang eyes closing as Adrien took in his angelic voice belting out taking a deep breath after watching Adrien’s fingers move expertly across the keys.
“And now I hear a symphony,” Jon sang looking into Adrien’s eyes that stared back faces inching closer together, eyes flickering down to lips then back to eyes asking for permission that was quickly granted as the gap between them almost disappeared. A knock at the door broke them apart as Adrien said come in.
“That song was quite something, did you write it?” Gabriel asked.
“I had help with the piano part from a friend but I wrote the lyrics myself,” Jon said telling most of the truth, he did know music from Damian having him take violin lessons, he didn’t know piano though.
“It was extraordinary,” Gabriel said. “You simply must perform it tonight when the guests arrive,” Gabriel added and Jon flushed. “If you don’t want to sing then Adrien should at least play it.” Jon’s blush faded and he nodded in agreement. Gabriel had opened his doors to family and friends on his wife’s death day after Adrien told him it would be better spent with loved ones then suffering in silence which he reluctantly agreed. As much as Gabriel hated to admit it he would do anything for his son, he was his one weakness.
“Thank you Mr. Agreste,” Jon said smiling at the man who smiled back. Adrien was shocked, his father actually liked Jon and liked something he did, it was a miracle. Another knock at the door shook him out of his thoughts, Felix and his mother stood there politely waiting. Ever since the mix up years ago Felix had been doing his best to regain Adrien’s trust and had succeeded for the most part.
The five walked down to the table and Adrien saw Alya and Nino sitting there already, normally Marinette and her parents would join but it didn’t seem that the elder Dupain’s would be joining them this year, Chloe and her mother walked in as well Chloe took a seat next to Alya and Audrey took a seat near Nathalie. Felix eyed Jon carefully watching the raven haired boy move more than he probably should, first Felix tried to steal Ladybug from him and now Jon, he couldn’t have that.
Adrien grabbed Jon’s hand pulling him out of the room.
“Did something happen with you and your boyfriend?” Adrien asked and Jon tensed up. “Please tell me the truth,” Adrien added grabbing his other hand and Jon looked him in the eyes nodding.
“We broke up last night too, I realized things weren’t working out and there was someone else that peaked my interest, he’s a bit new to me but there was just something about him when I met him yesterday,” Jon said smiling slightly.
“Could you please sing with me? You have the voice of an angel and I need you to be there,” Adrien said moving his hands to cup Jon’s face and the younger grabbed his wrists nodding.
“Just for you,” Jon said, moving in hugging Adrien tight.
The two moved back into the room Adrien taking his place at the piano and Jon sat beside him on the bench and in the moment it felt like the first time, just the two of them as the music flowed through the room.
“It sounds like something dear Emilie would have written Gabriel,” Amilie said wiping her eyes and for a moment Jon panicked. “He’s so precious,” Amilie added running up to Jon pulling the boy into a hug.
“Mother,” Felix said embarrassed.
“He just, he reminds me of her, down to the voice,” Amilie said smiling.
“Oh, um, I’m sorry,” Jon said nervously and Amilie looked panicked.
“No, no, it’s ok. I just miss my dear sister, you’ll be a wonderful addition to the family,” Amilie said making both Adrien and Jon blush.
“I’m… we’re not… uh,” Jon said and Adrien’s mouth was just gaping.
“Could have fooled me,” Chloe said from her seat at the table with a shit eating grin. Of course Marinette told them about the break up and they were all in the corner for the ship to set sail.
The dinner went smooth in Jon’s opinion so when Adrien took his hand and led him back to his room he knew what conversation was to come.
“Jon, since I saw you yesterday I haven’t been able to get you out of my head. You infected me Jon, it made me feel guilty because of Marinette still being in my life…” Adrien started.
“You fell in love with parts of her but not the whole, Chloe told me, and I have the parts of Marinette you liked but without the others,” Jon said sitting down next to the blond.
“It makes me sound like a dick, I’m sorry if you don’t like me anymore after hearing that, if you even did in the first place,” Adrien said looking down, he wasn’t trying to make Jon feel bad for him or trick him Jon noticed that right away, he was being genuine.
“You’re funny,” Jon said putting his hand on Adrien’s cheek leaning in and the blond closed his eyes as their lips finally touched. There were millions of thoughts running through their heads creating a simple verse hands roaming to hold each other close as Jon pulled himself into the blond’s lap the two falling back against the sheets puffs of air escaping them as lips disconnected. Jon rolled off of Adrien laying next to the blond chest to chest, heart to heart. The steady beating was speeding up as the gentle caress of melody whipped through the air lips meeting again.
The two laughed as they broke apart again. “Does this mean we’re together?” Adrien asked and Jon bit his lip nervously.
“I’d like that but could we talk more in the morning when I’m not all distracted?” Jon asked and Adrien nodded as Jon’s eyes closed. Adrien held him close smiling softly closing his eyes as well. It may have felt rushed but it felt right.

A/N: This is the first fanfic I've ever written, so I'm very sorry if this absolutely sucks🥺 Any (kind) constructive feedback is greatly appreciated!
I don't want this to be too much of a slow burn, but I also don't want it to be too fast paced, so idk, we'll see how it goes😅
Also, it currently doesn't have a name, so that's a work in progress!🙃
Pairing: Fem reader X ???
Warnings: Potentially offensive language, mentions of death/loss/grief, very brief mentions of jail & implying a relationship with a minor.
Summary: It's been 6 months since The Blip, and life isn't anywhere close to going back to normal. Y/N Stark is still coming to terms with the loss of her dad, as well as adjusting to life since everyone who vanished returned back to Earth.
Tumblr media
Part One
"Steve represented the best in all of us..." You looked up at Sam Wilson as he spoke.
Steve Rogers' memorial was somewhere you didn't expect to be so soon after your father's passing. Everything that had happened since your dad had sacrificed himself felt like a continuous storm that was never going to let up, and Steve's death added to the weight of loss.
"...a few months ago, millions of people reappeared after five years away..." Sam continued.
You hadn't blipped. You were one of the supposed lucky ones.
Mostly, you were grateful - you'd gotten to spend more time with your dad (all thanks to Carole Danvers locating him and Nebula on the Benatar ship), and you got to see Morgan flourish into the sweet young girl she is now. But there was always that thought in the back of your mind: 'what would life be like now if I had blipped?'.
"...we need new heroes," Sam looked down at you from the stage. "...ones suited to the times we're in."
Rhodey nugged you lightly and you looked at each other. You gave him a small smile. He'd been a huge support to you, and he had so much belief in you.
"...thank you Capitan America," Sam was now holding Steve's shield. "But this belongs to you." There was an applause as the shield was placed into a display cabinet. It almost felt wrong to you, and you were sure Rhodey felt the same way.
"You OK?" He turned to you. You nodded.
Before you could speak, Sam was walking towards the two of you. "It's good to see you both." He smiled as he took Rhodey's out-stretched hand and pulled him into a hug.
"Wouldn't have missed it, man". Rhodey pat Sam on the shoulder.
Sam turned to you with open arms and you reciprocated his welcome hug. As you both pulled back he looked at you with a hint of concern in his expression. "How are you doing?" He asked.
"You know, up days, down days..." You shrugged, beginning to fiddle with the material belt that wrapped around the dress you were wearing.
Sam nodded his head slightly. "I'm just about to go and look around the exhibition, you're both welcome to join me?"
"Yeah that would be great, it would be good to catch up." Rhodey smiled before looking over to you.
"Sounds good." You gave a small smile. "I'm just going to get some air, and I'll be right back."
The two men nodded and returned your small smile, before you took off towards the exit.
Outside, you breathed in the warm Spring air. You just wished you could feel the warmth on your skin. How you felt was almost hard to explain - emotionally, you were completely numb and yet in absolute agony all at one.
The only person who could get you to emote nowadays was Morgan, and that was mostly because you didn't want her to see you so sad.
As you sat perched on a wall outside the building, you enjoyed the near-silence around you. There was very minimal noise: the distant whirl of traffic; a few people spoke softly as they walked by; the birds in the trees above singing. The quiet atmosphere was almost enough to drown the constant sea of thoughts running through your mind.
But then you thought of Steve.
In some ways he had been like an uncle to you. When your dad introduced you to the team, Steve accepted you into the Avengers like you'd been around for years. And despite the very obvious disagreements with your dad, he never stopped showing how much he supported you. How much he believed in you.
To you, that's what made him so worthy of being Captain America.
You took in once last deep breath, before stepping down from the wall and going back inside.
You found Rhodey and Sam looking around the museum. There were several of Steve's belongings locked up in display cabinets and pictures of him on the walls, alongside huge captions containing a mass of information and explanation. You stopped briefly to look at a picture of him and Bucky Barnes when they served in the army together. You were surprised that Bucky wasn't here today, but at the same time you understood - having to be grieve in public is one of the hardest things expected of a person.
"Y/N, I've just got to make a call to the Compound." Rhodey turned to you, phone in hand.
"Yeah of course, I'll meet you out front in a bit." You nodded.
"It was good to see you Sam." He shook hands with The Falcon and they exchanged goodbyes.
"So," Sam folded his arms across his chest. "How are you really?"
A smile tugged at the corners of your mouth. That was the thing about Sam - he could see straight through everyone, he was very hard to fool.
"Is it really that hard to believe that I'm actually doing OK?' a laugh escaped as you spoke.
"Y/N, you've had a lot of deal with over the last six months; I can only imagine losing Steve has been another thing to add to the pile." Sam's expression grew more concerned. You chewed on the inside of your mouth, a terrible habit you bad developed when you didn't know quite what to say.
"Have you..." Sam began, unsure whether to finish his question. "Have you spoken to Peter?"
A small sigh escaped you. "Yeah.
"I held on to so much hope when he blipped, but there was too much uncertainty. If he ever did come back, would he come back the age he should be, or would he still be 16? Would things still work out between us? But obviously we knew things couldn't continue when he did come back."
"I hate to say it, but you know it's for the best." Sam shrugged. "He's only 16, you're nearly 22..."
"Well, in all honesty, I don't want to go to jail." Another laugh fell out as you spoke.
"Not to mention you're a completely different person to who you were five years ago; you've matured more than your years." Sam added.
Your tone softened along with your expression. "If I'd have blipped too, things would be different."
Sam took a step closer to you and placed his hand on your shoulder.
"I'm about to give you some tough love, so buckle up;" he began. "You can't focus on what life would be like if you'd blipped, Y/N. As much as you want to live in that fantasy, you can't - this is reality. Damn, I wish I hadn't blipped!
"Now, I know for a fact, that you have so much potential in that brain of yours, you're incredibly smart, just like your dad. But you need to tap into that potential and use it. Now is the time for you to truly make something of yourself, and be the person that you want to be."
You looked back up at Sam. You knew he was right. "I'll try." And you meant it.
"Speaking of Peter, I'm actually seeing him tonight, I said I'd help him with this project for school."
"Look at you, being a real adult." Sam teased. You laughed a little with him.
A sudden thought dawned on you: "It must have been so weird coming back from the blip and everything being so different." Your brows knitted together slightly.
Sam let out a giggle, "you could say that."
His expression hardened slightly.
"When I came back, it was pretty much just like waking up from the longest sleep.
"We arrived right back where we left and everyone was just going about their business, as if half the population hadn't completely vanished. I remember their faces; some confused, some relieved. Many of them ran, I presume back to where they lost their loved ones to see if they'd returned also.
"The first thought that I had was about my sister and my nephews, I just wanted to know if they were ok. But, we needed to fight first. Never before had I felt such a fire in my gut - I was ready. We all were. We were ready to do whatever it took to defeat Thanos.
"Some of us more than others."
You nodded.
There was a brief silence before you spoke; "I'd best go look for Rhodey, he'll think I've dashed off without him.
"Thank you, Sam. It's been really good seeing you." The smile you gave The Falcon was the most genuine smile you'd given anyone in months.
"It's been good to see you too." Sam embraced you in a goodbye hug, before you began to leave the museum.
"Y/N," Sam called as you left. You turned to look at him over your shoulder. "Don't be a stranger."

Julius looked up as William walked into the office, Alistar was currently standing off to the side and was leaning against the wall. Julius could see the slight confusion in William's face as he approached the desk; he did wonder how the masked Captain would take such news, especially since he was the only one called, unlike the other children whose fathers and mothers had been called up here.
“ Is everything ok Julius? Marx said it was urgent that I come up here at once.” Willam asked as he saluted before he frowned as the Wizard King let out a small sigh, but the blonde smiled nonetheless.
“ Yes, well, sort of. It isn’t anything pertaining to the Kingdom's safety if that’s what you’re worried about.” ‘Or at least not that we know of at the moment.’ Julius added the last part silently, he hadn’t the faintest clue as to why the children are suddenly arriving, and so far it had been everyday a child would show up. He saw William visibly relax at his words.
“ That’s good to hear, but if that’s the case, then why was I summoned?” He asked in confusion before Alistar stepped away from the wall and stood next to the desk, that same warm calm smile on his face. William looked the young man up and down for a moment before turning back to Julius.
“ Julius? Who is this?” He asked, he recognized his Golden Dawn uniform and cloak, but he didn’t recognize the man wearing them. William knew every person in his squad, or at the very least knew their faces if not their names and this man was not part of his squad.
“ Well-.” Julius started with a sheepish laugh before Alistar held up a hand to silence him, Julius frowned slightly before the young man's smile widened and he held out a hand towards William.
“ Hello Captain, it’s nice to meet you! My name’s Alistar Vangeance and I’m your son from the future!” He announced brightly, taking both William and Julius back a bit. Julius had been partially hoping Alistar would gently break the news to William as the other children had done, but instead he just blurted it out. Julius almost wanted to laugh at the shocked expression on Williams face, he only turned to look at Julius again.
“ It’s true. Marx verified his memories before he summoned you here, he’s the fourth child to be brought here in the last 3 days. I was going to bring all the Captains here tomorrow and brief you all on what information we have so far, but then this young man showed up in my office.” Julius explained and Alistar nodded.
“ It wasn’t that hard to sneak in here, you might want to tighten security a bit Wizard King.” Alistar said with a small laugh, Julius nodded, that was something that would have to be worked on. But how were all the security guards supposed to know he wasn’t a part of the current Golden Dawn, especially since he was wearing their robes and uniform.
William stood there silently as his brain tried to process this information. This young man was his son? How was that possible? William wasn’t seeing anyone at the moment, and he wasn’t really looking since he was busy being Captain. So, how? William looked at Alistar again; he looked a lot like him, there was no denying that, but he also looked different. His eyes were the main giveaway. They were the same shape and size of William’s, but the color was different; instead of purple like his they were blue, an almost icy blue. He silently wondered if they came from his mother? That would be the only logical explanation.
“ I think I broke him.” Alistar said in concern as he leaned down to look William in the face, slightly startling the masked Captain. Julius chuckled softly.
“ No you didn’t break him, he’s just lost in thought.” Julius said before standing up and walking over to clap William on the shoulder, making him jump slightly. “ You alright?”
“ Y-Yes, just a little shocked.” He said softly, Julius nodded.
“ It would be a little shocking, Yami was the same way too when his and Charlotte’s daughter arrived.” William turned at that, Yami had a child from the future as well? And with Captain Charlotte Roselei?! That was surprising! He never imagined the man settling down and having a family, especially not with her!
“ Do you need a minute da-i mean, Captain?” Alistar asked, his eyes full of genuine concern. Maybe he should have eased him into the news, but it was a little too late for that now. Alistar rubbed the back of his neck nervously as his face tinged pink in embarrassment. He hadn’t thought his father would take the news this hard.
“ No, I’m fine. The shock is wearing off a bit now I believe.” William replied warmly and with a shake of his head, he saw the relief pass across Alistar’s face.
“ That’s good. I was worried there for a minute.” He said with a nervous laugh, before Julius chuckled and walked back around to his desk and sat down.
“ Maybe you two will get to know each other better on your way to the Hideout.” Julius said before looking over some papers again, William and Alistar both frowned. “ We have a special house for all the parents and children to stay in, just until we know what’s going on.” He added before he frowned a bit at Alistar.
A strange look passed across the white haired man’s face at his last comment, and that made Julius curious. Did he know something? If so, why didn’t the other children know as well? And why didn’t Marx find anything in Alistar’s memories? Was it because Marx wasn’t looking for that so the information was allowed to stay hidden? Hm, very interesting. Julius would have to keep an eye on this one.
“ So, where is this house Lord Julius?” William asked curiously, it was starting to get dark outside so they would have to hurry if the house was very far. Julius gave him directions to the house and both William and Alistar saluted him with a nod before walking out of the room.
“ So, I’m not the only one who’s made it here yet?” Alistar asked his ‘father’, who nodded.
“ It appears that way, from what Julius said Yami and Charlotte’s daughter is here as well.” William said as they walked down the hall.
Alistar had caught that as well, he hoped beyond hope that it was her. But a small piece of him worried that if he got his hopes up too high that he would be disappointed if it wasn’t. There were two Sukehiro daughters, so it could easily be either one that had arrived. His stomach suddenly began to twist itself into knots at the thought of it not being her. He wanted to hurry to the house now more than ever before, if it was in fact her he needed to make sure she was ok and that she was safe. He made a promise, not only to himself, but to her as well. Even though he was feeling all these emotions on the inside, he didn’t dare let it show on the outside, his face remained calm and warm like it had the entire time in the office.
“ Do you have a broom to use?” William asked as they stepped outside, Alistar laughed and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
“ Ah no, I walked here. I didn’t think about looking for a broom. But it’s ok!” He said warmly before suddenly conjuring up a small broom with his plant magic, causing William’s eyes to widen at the sight.
“ You can use plant magic?”
“ Actually World Plant Magic. It’s similar to yours except, well, plants.” Alistar confirmed with a laugh before stepping onto his makeshift broom and lifting it up into the air with his mana. William did the same and he tilted his head curiously.
“ I take it you inherited your affinity from your mother?” William asked curiously, he watched as the young man’s face suddenly looked downcast at the mention of his mother. But it disappeared as quickly as it came as he looked over at William.
“ That’s spoilers Captain.” He said with a laugh. “ C’mon before it gets too dark.” Alistar added before quickly flying away.
———
Yami and the others listened intently as William finished the story, it was quite different to how they met their children. Yami glanced over at the table and watched as the children ate and spoke amongst each other, he turned back to William.
“ So he doesn’t know why he was sent here either?” He asked curiously, William nodded.
“ Apparently not, Julius said he would be informing the other Captains tomorrow to inform their squads to be on the lookout for any children who seemed to be lost and/or confused.” William explained softly, Charlotte frowned a bit.
“ Out of all these kids not one knows what’s going on? What are the odds of that?” She asked as she glanced over at the children as well, they were speaking in hushed tones at the table now, they didn’t want the adults to hear their conversation apparently.
“ I guess not, but I don’t think these are all the kids.” Zora said suddenly, causing all the adults to look at him curiously. “ The Wizard King is alerting all the Captains to tell their squads to be on the lookout for more kids right? Which means he suspects more are coming.”
The others looked at Zora in surprise, they hadn’t thought about the Wizard King's words, and now that they thought about it it did sound like he was anticipating more kids to be arriving, and if so, how did he know that? They all sat in collective silence for a moment when Nebra decided to break it.
“ Wow so you really do have a brain!” She told Zora in a mock surprise tone, the red head growled at her and opened his mouth to argue before Charlotte quickly intervened.
“ Don’t you two start up again! I already have a headache from earlier.” She said with a sigh as she rubbed her temple, the blonde quickly stood. “ It’s getting late anyhow, I think it’s time for everyone to get some sleep. Tomorrow’s going to be a big and busy day.” She added looking around the room, and everyone sighed but stood along with her, she was right; all the Captains would have a busy day tomorrow giving their squads their new orders after meeting with Julius.
The kids and Nebra, Zora, and Charlotte all went to their respective rooms except for Yami, William, and Alistar. Who all stood looking at each other for a moment.
“ So, where will I be staying?” Alistar asked politely as he looked between the two men, William was wondering the same thing as he didn’t have a room either.
“ You’ll be bunking with the little red head,” Yami pointed at Alistar and then down the hall. “ and I’ll show you to yours since it’s near mine.” He added to William before walking away, William nodded and followed behind Yami.
“ Goodnight Alistar.”
“ Goodnight fath-i mean, Captain.” Alistar said softly before quickly turning and walking in the opposite direction of the two older men.
Alistar sighed, it was going to be difficult having to call his father ‘Captain’ again. It had been a while since he had to do that, but even when his father was Captain of the Golden Dawn he rarely used the title unless he had too. He wondered if Hikari and the others were having the same trouble with their parents as well. Alistar jumped as someone grabbed his upper arm and yanked him into their room with so much force that he actually tripped and landed onto their bed. He rolled over and saw the person that had pulled him into their room was Hikari.
“ My how very forceful of you Hikari.” He teased with a slightly mischievous smirk. He may have been playing it cool on the outside, but on the inside his heart was pounding and he had butterflies in his stomach.
“ Oh stop it you’re almost as bad as Ezio.” Hikari rolled her eyes and playfully hit Alistar on the shoulder as he stood up.
“ I don’t know, from what I hear Ezio is actually worse than I am.” He chuckled as Hikari herself laughed a bit before the two fell in a comfortable silence. They tended to do this a lot; just sit and enjoy each other's company without saying a word. The two hadn’t always been like this, their silence used to be very awkward when they were younger, but as they got older and closer, it gradually became more comfortable.
“ Alistar,” she started softly, he ‘hmed’ in response she continued. “ what’s going on? Why were we sent back?” She watched as the white haired man instantly tensed at the question, that wasn’t normal for him, usually he kept a close eye on his emotions and body movements. He looked away shyly and rubbed the back of his head.
“ I don’t know Hikari.” He told her with a sigh, the black haired girl’s eyes narrowed instantly.
“ Somehow I find it hard to believe that the Captain of the Golden Dawn doesn’t know what’s going on with serious matters related to the kingdom!” She said in a slightly raised tone, he quickly shushed her before looking behind her, as though expecting someone to come rushing through the door at her words. He let out a small sigh of relief before his ice blue eyes narrowed at her.
“ And I find it hard to believe that the Vice Captain of the Black Bulls doesn’t know anything either.” He countered, Hikari crossed her arms as she looked at him.
“ You and I both know the Vice-Captain doesn’t know about anything important like this unless the Captain tells them.” She smirked as she saw his eyes widen slightly; he seemed to forget who he was talking to.
Alistar sighed in defeat before looking away from her, she watched as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. She almost laughed at his nervous habit, he had done that ever since he was a kid, although she wasn’t quite sure where he picked it up since his father didn’t seem to have that habit. Her eyes softened as she could see the struggle in his eyes.
“ I...I can’t tell you Hikari, not yet.” He said softly when he finally looked back up at her. “ I have to wait until everyone else has arrived.”
“ So there are more of us coming?” Hikari asked and he nodded in confirmation. “ How many?”
“ I don’t know. All of our strongest people I’d imagine, especially since you, I, and Josslyn are here.” He said with a shrug. Hikari glared slightly at him, she could see in his eyes that there was more he wasn’t telling her.
“ Why won’t you just tell me what’s going on?” She asked him in a slightly angry and raised tone. “ What, do you think I can’t handle it? Do you think I’m that fragile that I can’t handle the truth about why we were sent back?” Alistar shook his head and placed both hands on her upper arms and gave them a gentle squeeze.
“ No, I don’t believe any of those things. Especially about you being too fragile to handle the truth.” He told her softly and somewhat apologetically, yet his eyes were cold and serious, the complete opposite of his tone. “ But I can’t tell you just yet, so please,” he gently shook her shoulders.
“ Trust me.”
Hikari looked away, she had always trusted him, for as long as they had been friends she had trusted him and vice versa, that’s why they were a great team even though they were in two different squads. He trusted her with his deepest secrets and she did the same in return. She sighed and nodded.
“ I trust you.”
Alistar smiled at that and he nodded firmly before giving her shoulders one last squeeze before he walked around her and placed a hand on the door knob.
“ Goodnight Hikari, sleep well.” He told her warmly before opening the door and walking out of the room. He closed the door softly behind him and sighed, he hated keeping this from her, he walked away with his head hung low and his heart broken into a million pieces. Soon, he would be able to tell her what happened soon, but for now this information had to stay between him and himself. He found his and Ace’s shared room and walked inside, gently closing the door behind him.
“ Well, well, well, pretty boy is hiding something. He’s a chip off the old block if I say so myself.” Zora chuckled as he came out of the shadows and looked at Ace’s bedroom door. “ Just how much do you actually know hm?”

Pills (Chapter 29)
(Hello everyone, Rancoeur here. I know it's been a while since I last updated this book and I am truly sorry about that. But it's been so long since I've seen Zim or have even read fanfics about it. So in a way I sorta fell out of love with it. This doesn't mean I'm going to stop updating this though. This book is a monument to how my writing has evolved over the years and is my pride and joy. I will finish it, even if it kills me. It will be awesome and I can't wait for it. Thank you for reading this and please accept this 3300-word chapter as my apology. I know it's a little short and I did want to add more stuff to it but then it just looked bloated and I didn't like that. I hope everyone is staying safe out there. Have a nice day.)
Monday morning, Dib slowly got out of bed and stretched as his alarm clock rang. The boy rubbed his eyes softly before grabbing his glasses from the nightstand and put them on his nose after turning off the said clock. He glanced outside, noticing the dark clouds coming in, and sighed.
"Already looks pretty gross out there," he muttered to himself before he started to get dressed for school.
Honestly, it felt weird to sleep on a bed after sleeping in a tent for a week. Aside from just being comfier it kinda felt... lonely. Like someone was missing.
The boy shook his head as he slid on his coat and began the trek downstairs to greet Gaz and his father. Another rare day of eating with the Professor.
"Hey dad, hey Gaz," he smiled a bit and went to the fridge to grab some juice. When he grabbed what he wanted he pulled back and shut the fridge, only to find his dad right behind him holding a new device to his head. He reeled back in surprise, "dad?!"
His dad smiled at him and waved him off, "no need to worry son, I was just testing out this new invention I'm making on you. Says here your serotonin levels are higher than usual. You must be in a good mood!"
Dib gave his dad a nervous smile and laugh before backing away to the table where his sister was eating with one hand while simultaneously playing her new game with the other.
"Yeah, you haven't mumbled about killing Zim all morning. What's wrong with you?" She spoke between bites of cereal.
"I don't know, I guess I'm just too tired to think about killing Zim," Dib shrugged as he poured himself a bowl.
"That's bull and we both know it. You talk about capturing Zim in your sleep, I can hear it in my room," Gaz tossed a glare his way before going back to her game.
Dib rolled his eyes, "whatever." He muttered as he began eating.
Still, he couldn't help but feel a strange sensation in his chest.
Zim tentatively stepped out of his home. The Dib had told him that the skool children had already forgotten about the drugs, but he still felt fear. Like there were still eyes following him as he marched down the sidewalk. A feeling of uneasiness seemed to wash over him.
Eventually, the blocky, grey building came into view. A few children were loitering about, waiting for the bell to ring. Not wanting to draw attention to himself, Zim just sat on a bench and waited alongside them. Only observing them slightly.
Humans were weird on Mondays, Zim had no idea why though. Something about that particular day of the week seemed to drain all of the energy from the weird meat bags. One kid looked like he was about to fall on his face from exhaustion.
Down the street, he spotted the Dib and his little sister. A part of Zim was fearful. Now that everything had gone relatively back to normal, would Dib go back to trying to expose him?
When the two entered the skool's grounds, they separated. Gaz went to sit on the steps, playing her video game. While  Dib glanced about, when he looked his way, the human... smiled at him.
Causally Dib stepped closer and closer until the two were only a few feet apart. There was a moment of silence between them, both of them just staring at each other. It was obvious they both wanted to say something but neither knew how.
Eventually, Dib sighed and spoke a little quietly, "hey uh... can I sit here?" The boy gestured to the spot on the bench next to Zim.
Zim looked surprised for a moment before he crossed his arms and looked away with his usual snark before quipping a quick, "you may."
Dib chuckled to himself, "same old Zim." He said as he sat down beside the green alien.
With that, the two sat in silence once more, the two of them just looking down at the skoolyard. Humans shuffling about like zombies, waiting for something to happen. Eventually, Zim slumped out of his uptight posture and looked down in his lap, fiddling with his thumbs.
It was Dib who once again broke the silence, "so, what evil plan is it this time?"
Zim looked up at the human in surprise, "eh?"
"You know, to take over the world and all that?" Dib smirked and leaned close, "or did you forget your mission."
Zim immediately perked up and sneered in disgust, "of course not! And to answer your first question. WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO KNOW!" He shouted that last part accidentally as he pointed an accusatory finger at the boy.
Dib just laughed, clutching his stomach as Zim tried to regain his composure. Zim couldn't help but giggle to himself slightly.
"In all seriousness," Zim started once the two had calmed down. "I don't know... I know I have a mission. But at the same time, that mission was given to me by them." Zim found himself glaring at his own hands. He clenched them into fists.
"It feels so strange, to have a purpose one second only to realize that purpose was only given to you to get you out of the way. And now that I see past all their lies I... I don't know. I have no idea what I should be doing, or what my purpose is now or what I'm even still doing on Earth." Zim sighed and closed his eyes, he knew Dib was looking at him, either pitying him or laughing at his distress.
Instead, he felt a hesitant hand on his shoulder. Zim looked up at Dib who was giving him a comforting yet awkward smile before pulling his hand back and sitting properly.
"If we're being truthful right now I guess I'll be straight with you," Dib spoke as he laid back on the bench and looked up at the sky. "The main reason why I wanted to help you was because I was hoping you'd leave once you realized what your mission was." Dib hummed to himself.
"But now that you're off your drugs and ready to leave... I..." Dib paused, "Don't get me wrong, I still hate your guts." He huffed but then frowned, "but the thought of you leaving now... it just doesn't sit well with me." Dib admitted.
"Funny how the one I considered my worst enemy could become someone I might even call my..." Dib paused again and looked at Zim with an emotion ZIm couldn't decern, "friend."
Zim stared at Dib in complete silence, 'friend?' Dib smiled slightly before going back to looking at the cloudy sky.
Three minutes passed before Zim opened his mouth, "Dib I-" Before he could finish the ever-piercing sound of the bell rang, cutting him off. Simultaneously, Zim was both annoyed and grateful for the interruption.
"Well I guess we'll finish this talk some other time," the human spoke grabbed his bag, and got up. "I'll see you later Zim," Dib gave one last smile before waving goodbye and walking away towards the school building.
It was then that it hit Zim, he'd never seen Dib smile so much before. The boy seemed genuinely happy in Zim's company. It felt so strange, a foreign feeling, a feeling he hadn't felt since, "Skoodge."
Suddenly it felt like all the air had left Zim's respiratory organs and he fell to his knees on the ground. Tears were building in his eyes until eventually, the dam broke, and he started sobbing loudly. Trying and failing to gasp for air. His cardiac spooch felt like it was being squeezed like a stress toy. It hurt and Zim was just figuring out why.
All alone in the Skool courtyard, Zim was crying. Crying like a long-forgotten smeet. Eventually, the Irken just laid down on his side curled into a ball. How could he? What was wrong with him?! How could he have hurt Skoodge like that?! His best friend! His partner! His mate!
How could he have hurt someone so close to him, so one who had seen him at both his best and his worst?
The tears wouldn't stop.
Eventually, his thoughts went back to Dib, the human who even despite their mutual hatred for one another still sought to help him. To get him off those horrid drugs and saw him as a... a friend.
Suddenly it felt like time itself had stopped. A friend.
Zim had a friend. Quietly the little alien stood up and whipped his eyes. He found himself staring up at the sky, just as Dib had. The clouds seemed to have gotten darker, it was likely going to rain soon.
He should probably get inside-
A hand came out from behind him and covered his mouth roughly, cutting off his thoughts as he went into a panic. That was before it all went dark.
"So uh... what is it exactly?" Tallest Purple asked a hand on his chin as he inspected the strange being before him, keeping his distance of course.
"A Murthen, my Tallest, female, foot soldier class." The Doctor spoke, his back upright and arms tucked neatly behind his back as he gave a quick bow.
They all stood on the bridge of the Massive. The two Tallest were near the controls while the Doctor and his captive stood at the other end of the bridge. Behind the Doctor stood Skoodge, the little Irken was practically sweating bullets as he clutched Raz's egg. He kept his mouth shut, but every time he even glanced at the Murthen or her collar it felt like another ton of weight was added to his shoulders.
"A Murthen?" Tallest Red gave a confused and disgusted look at the blue figure, "ok...but what's it doing on our ship."
"I believe she will be a great help to our mission to subdue Zim. Despite her lower rank, she is incredibly capable and has experience in both war and combat.
"I mean, so did Tak," Tallest Purple crossed his arms.
The Doctor actually laughed and it was the most haunting thing anyone in the room had ever heard. "Oh, my Tallest, Raz here, is certainly no Tak, trust me."
"I don't even trust the way you just said trust me," Purple muttered in the background as Tallest Red stepped forward.
"Murthen, Murthen where have I heard that name before?" He squinted his eyes at Raz as Tallest Purple stepped behind him, "was it a planet we conquered."
"I assure you my Tallest, Murth most likely will never be claimed," the Doctor hummed.
'He seems so sure of himself,' Skoodge thought.
"Why's that?" Tallest Red asked skeptically.
"This is why," the Doctor spoke as he raised his hand and snapped his fingers.
Before anyone had any idea what was going on, Raz raised her arm, showing a previously concealed weapon. She aimed it at one of the foodservice drones and fired and a blue beam-like laser shot out.
"AHHHHHH!!!" A scream ripped through the room as the service drone fell to the floor, the donuts he was carrying, splattering beside him. He had been shot in the lower abdomen and was clutching his melting chest in a frenzy. He was quite literally melting on the floor. Eventually, he fell silent as he collapsed on the floor, smoke coming off his body.
The two Tallest jumped back in fear, "WHAT IN THE US WAS THAT?!" Purple screamed.
"Show them," The Doctor gestured to the two with his head.
Raz held out the gun, displaying it in front of the two leaders. It was small and compact, not unlike the blasters the Irkens used. This one however was silver with a grey handle, on the sides of the round barrel were tempered glass that displayed a blue liquid.
"This is just a ground soldier-grade weapon. Yet it has the capabilities to destroy Irken armies. It's filled with a chemical compound known as H2O aka water. Due to our solubility when an Irken comes in contact with it, we tend to melt. However, that's not everything. The water is also mixed with a compound only found in Murthen waters, it is known as Gr4F8 aka Blue Gix. Mixed with water it lowers the boiling point to room temperature and creates energy in the form of light and heat. This creates the beam you just witnessed. This gun alone could destroy our entire empire and that's not even half of it." The Doctor nodded toward Raz and she lowered the gun.
"This is the kind of weaponry that can be expected on Murth, that is why we can not conquer it yet. I'm sure with a bit of studying we could find a way to make ourselves immune to this but until then. We'll just have to leave Murth unconquered. At the moment, however, I believe we should get back to the topic of Zim."
"R-right right, Zim," Tallest Red stuttered, trying to keep his composer. "Are you sure she's fit for the job?"
"Oh my Tallest, you have no idea," the Doctor smiled that irksome smile of his.
"Zim won't know what hit him."
The rest of the discussion seemed to fade out for Skoodge as he stared, wide-eyed at the dead Irken before him. He had just been shot, no warning, no nothing. He was just doing his job and he was shot and then forgotten about. Like his life meant nothing.
Already some of the cleaning drones had come over, collecting the body to be disposed of. Most likely going to be tossed out of the airlock like trash.
Skoodge looked to the egg in his hands, little Mur. Every time he looked at her he just felt more and more guilty. Her carrier was being controlled against her will and he was the cause of it.
Now he had to carry her around, an actual burden on his shoulders.
"Alright then, I guess it's settled, we'll be leaving the quadrant in a few hours to start heading for Earth," Tallest Red's voice cut into Skoodges thoughts and he felt panic run through him, that means they'll be leaving Murth and Raz's family.
Before Skoodge had a chance to voice his concerns, the Doctor was already leaving with Raz in tow.
Quickly Skoodge ran after them, once they were out of the bridge and in one of the Massive's many hallways he spoke up, "Doctor! What about the egg! There's no water on the ship!"
"Your pretty good at stating the obvious," the doctor hummed, not even bothering to look at him.
"B-but-"
"Look Skoodge, I already told you. If you want the egg, you can keep it. But that makes it your problem, not mine," the Doctor growled, getting agitated by the shorter Irken's nagging.
"But Doctor!"
Suddenly the Doctor spun around and pointed glaringly at him, "no! I'm tired of hearing your squeaky insignificant voice!" He shouted, "one more word out of you and I'll reveal the secret about your lack of pills to the Tallest!"
At first, Skoodge was terrified but one look at the child, strapped to his chest and he was quick to shoot a glare of his own. "And reveal yourself?! Fat chance!"
"Oh please! you don't think I don't already have the Tallest under my thumb?!"
Skoodge paused and stared up at the Doctor wide-eyed, "what?"
"You heard me, I've had them on my drugs since day one! I have nothing to fear from them. Just like I have nothing to fear from you! You short, intolerable, idiotic, service drone!" The Doctor raised his hand to smack Skoodge only to collapse to his knee in pain. He grimaced and gripped his right leg in pain, a new bump already showing through his pants.
"Damn it!" He snarled and began to roll up his pant leg, showing the ugly lump on his calf. To even the Doctor's horror, it seemed to be splitting off into two.
"Damn things are getting worse," he muttered to himself and looked to Skoodge expectantly.
Almost on instinct, Skoodge pulled out 4 syringes from his pac only to pause before approaching.
"What the hell are you doing, help me!" The taller Irken demanded.
"No! I will do no such thing until we return Raz and her egg back home!" Skoodge demanded himself.
"And ruin your chances of taking over the control brains and getting Zim back?" The Doctor sneered, gripping his leg tighter now.
"The ends don't justify the means, Doctor!" Skoodge snarled.
"Fine," the Doctor stammered out, already looking out of breath from the pain. "W-with friends like you, who needs enemies," he growled and snapped his fingers, and Raz, who had been standing beside him stoically this whole time, tackled Skoodge.
The scariest part wasn't those sharp webbed fingers, or those strong four arms, no it was those cold eyes. Raz looked completely dead on the inside like she was just a body heading the commands of something that wasn't her. It was terrifying.
She was quick and strong as he pinned his arms and legs down before grabbing the needles from his hands and kicking him away once she got what she was after. Not even bothering to be careful about her egg, thankfully Skoodge used his own body as a shield for the fragile thing.
After that, she knelt before the Doctor and began to siphon out more of that green stuff from the lumps. She managed to get one of the lumps to go down but it seemed the remaining two syringes weren't enough to lessen the larger one. Only reduce it, as Raz got up to get more from Skoodge she was stopped by the Doctor standing up.
"Leave it, this will do for now," he hissed as he pulled his pant leg back down, hiding the bump. "And you," the Doctor glared at Skoodge.
"You're lucky I'm far too busy right now to deal with you. I do however have this to say,"  he looked down on Skoodge the lighting making him look absolutely terrifying. "If you pull that again, I'll make you watch as I dissect that egg." With that threat, the Doctor turned around and left Skoodge on the floor, Raz following obediently behind him.
Skoodge felt sick to his stomach like he was about to throw up. He clutched the egg tightly, trying desperately not to cry. How was he supposed to go on? He needed to save Zim, but at the same time, just the thought of abandoning Mur and Raz left Skoodge feeling sick.
"Oh, what do I do," Skoodge held up the egg, staring at the little Murthen inside as if she could give him an answer. What worried Skoodge was just how developed she was now. Her four arms had all formed and little pink and purple spots decorated her body, soon to make the pattern of one or both of her parents. Her eyes were slightly open now too. Revealing dark purple eyes.
"Oh Mur, you're going to hatch soon aren't you?" Tears started to form in Skoodge's eyes, "and your carrier won't even be there to witness it." Skoodge covered his mouth with one hand as he scooted to press his back against the wall in revelation, "and it's all my fault."
"I'm a monster," he whispered in horror. Just as he was about to break down, crying. Skoodge felt a shift in the egg and looked down at the little Murthlet inside. She had moved her hands from the clutched position they had before to the shell of the egg. She had just placed all four of them there and it completely mesmerized Skoodge. Four little blue hands with little webbing in between, even tiny little claws on each finger.
Skoodge felt a small blush form on his face in surprise before a small smile crept onto it as well. He placed his forehead on the shell, ignoring the slight burning sensation it caused, and smiled.
"I know I've hurt you and your family. But I swear on my life, I'll keep you safe, I promise."

Humans are Space Orcs, “On a Hill.”
Still working on my ability to write fluff. Hope I am getting better at it :) Hope you all have a great day.
Sunny marched down the hall with great purpose, the words of her brother ringing in her head, “You know Sunny, if you want to do something special for him, why not try doing something human. I mean fighting is all well and good for Drev, but I wonder if he gets tired of getting the crap kicked out of him on a normal basis.”
Her brother was right of course: Adam did sort of have a habit of catering to her needs and wants rather than his own. It did seem more than fair to give him what he wanted for a change.
So, she had done some research, going around the ship and asking the other humans about what they considered to be special. Of course she threw a lot of ideas out on principle because she knew Adam enough to know that he wasn’t going to be interested. It was, surprisingly, Maverick, dateless, lone-wolf Maverick that made the suggestion that caught Sunny’s attention.
“Come on, what better way to a man’s heart than through his stomach. Take him somewhere cool beside that and you’ve got him hook line and sinker.” Of course Sunny didn’t understand the metaphor, but she thought she understood the feeling of it.
So, with her plan all pulled together, she made her way up to the captain’s quarters and knocked lightly on the door.
There was a muffled yip from inside followed by a voice, “Oh Calm down. It’s nobody you don't know. COME IN, DOORS UNLOCKED!”
She pressed the panel to the side of the door, and it hissed open. She walked into the large room leaning down to pet waffles as she ran over tail wagging.
Adam was leaning back on his bed, UNSC issued grey shirt and grey camouflage ACU pants.
In his left hand he was holding a book, turning the pages with his right hand.
Sunny squinted at the cover slowly sounding out the words to the human alphabet.
War of the worlds
On the opposite wall, the TV was turned low with some sort of vintage zombie movie playing in the background.
“I thought you were a sci fi geek, not a fantasy nerd.” She said walking over to stand over him.” He set down his open book on the side table, “What is more sci-fi than zombies? Some sort of strange disease turns everyone into cannibals. Besides sci fi and fantasy are the same thing, the only difference between them is that sci fi attempts to explain its magic with logic and science, while fantasy creates completely new systems for the way it does things.”
She shrugged, “HAs it ever occurred to you that you are commanding a fleet of spaceships under the command of a galactic council of planets, and you're dating an alien. Does it really get more sci-fi than your life?”
“Leave my nostalgia alone, once upon a time I didn’t think any of that was going to happen…. Especially that last one.” His eyes dropped down from her face focusing in on the object she held in one of her right hands, “That’s a big ass ammo can, what are you doing with it?”
“You’ll see.” She said wryly. Walking over to his closet, pulling out an extra blanket tossing it to him.
He nearly fumbled it as he stood head tilted to the side with confusion, “What is all this?”
“You’ll see, now come on.”
She led him out of the room and down towards the docking bay where a shuttle had already been prepared for them.
“Do I need weapons?” He wondered nerouvly stepping into the shuttle.
“No weapons needed.”
“That is very unusual coming from you.”
“Just pilot the damn shuttle will you.” She said taking the copilot seat next to him and setting the large ammo canister down on the floor. He did as she ordered, sliding into his seat and pulling on a headset, hands flying through the preflight checklist without so much as a thought.
“So where are we going.”
“Just followed the pre programmed instructions.”
He glanced over at her, his eyebrow raised, “You make me nervous. You know that?”
She frowned and waved a hand, “Oh calm down, I promise it’s nothing big. You’ll like it.”
He shook his head, but finally followed her instructions, lifting the shuttle from the airlock bay and out through the opening airlock doors while lights blinked red over their heads. He followed the instructions to the letter, coming into low orbit with the nearby glowing planet.
They had gone and done a preliminary search of the planet only yesterday determining that it was more than habitable and rather temperate. Plants were already being put together for some kind of scientific colony in it’s northern hemisphere.
“Alright, alien planet is cool.” he said, dropping them into the atmosphere with a sudden rattling, and an eruption of flames out the front window.
That soon dissipated as he slowed the shuttle, and expertly landed them on the pinnacle of a tall spacious hill with a pretty awesome view if she did say so herself.
He shut off the shuttle and stepped outside allowing the warm air to wash over them with a hiss. Adam tilted his head back, nose raised as he took in a deep breath and sigh, “Wow.” he muttered.
Sunny didn’t have as good a sense of smell as Adam did, but even she could detect the clear crisp air and the slight tang of dewdrops on moist soil. The smell made her hungry as they walked a little further onto the top of the hill, where a strange tree waited for them.
The tree itself was not dissimilar to earth trees, maybe twenty feet tall with a narrow black trunk and spongy yellow blobs sticking to it’s branches blocking out a distant glowing sun. Together they turned to look at the view, and Sunny hummed with pleasure as the human stood open mouthed and gawking.
The ground they stood on was a light greyish blue in color with little yellow flowers poking up every now and again. The tree they stood next to was the only lone tree upon the hill which sloped down into a wide- rambling valley. Purple and blue plant matter made up much of the ground while yellow topped trees added a sharp contrast. The sky above them was a deep blue, almost too dark to be a morning sky, though the sun shone bright through its murky blue haze. And then there were the planet's rings appearing as Massive white arches in the sky which plunged down below the horizon. A crystal blue/purple lake glowed at the center of the valley, reflecting a mirror image of the sun and the rings in the sky above.
“Holy, shit, Adam muttered.”
“Nice view, huh.”
Adam rubbed his eyes and shook his head a few times as if he wasn’t believing what he was seeing, “No kidding.”
Leaving him to gawk for a few seconds, she grabbed the blanket from under his arm and then awkwardly worked to spread it out over the grass under the shade of their lone tree.
She was having trouble, but just managed to flatten the blanket out most of the way when Adam turned to look at her. He paused and raised an eyebrow again, smiling a little, “What are you doing?”
She smoothed out one last wrinkle and then took a seat on the blanket legs stretched out in front of her, “What does it look like.”
He walked over as she plopped the ammo can down between them.
He shook his head, “I’m still not entirely sure.”
Sunny reached out and flipped open the latches to the large canister popping open the lid. Adam peered inside and all at once began to laugh. The smile on his face was enough to tell that it wasn’t a mocking laugh or anything. He just seemed genuinely surprised.
He reached inside and pulled out a water bottle still laughing, “An Ammo can?”
She shrugged, “I am told a picnic basket is usually preferable, but we didn’ have one of those on the ship.”
Adam continued to laugh shaking his head in either disbelief delight or both, “What prompted all this.” He asked motion towards the  ammo can, now picnic basket.
She shrugged, “I have been made aware that we do a lot of things that are very Drev, but not a lot of things that are particularly human, so I thought maybe I should do something human for you.”
He still had a smile on his face, but this time he shook his head resting one hand over hers, “Its thoughtful of you, Sunny, but I was ok with what we were doing.”
She shrugged, “I know you are, but you often let me have my way, so I thought it would be a good way to show you that I care, to do something that I have never done before.”
He smiled and lay back against the blanket a soft breeze tugging at his shirt, “Well consider mission accomplished. This was a pretty great idea.” He cracked his one good eye to look at her, “So, who did you ask?”
Sunny shrugged a bit sheepishly, “it was Maverick’s idea, but I DID go looking for her myself.”
“Maverick? That sly dog, I would never have pegged her as the type to come up with something like this.”
“Yeah she is….. Hmmm… how shall I say.”
“She should have been born Drev. I don’t think she has ever dated anyone but I’m pretty sure she would consider kicking the snot out of someone the perfect way to spend an afternoon.”
“She does have the heart of a Drev.” Sunny said nodding, leaning back on the blanket next to him to stare up at the great rings in the sky above.
Adam chuckled again after a few minutes of silence, “Ammo can.”
“Shut up.”
He laughed again and sat up on one elbow digging through the canister until he came up with a sandwich before sitting himself cross legged on the blanket and taking a bite.
Sunny reached in after him and pulled out an apple.
She liked human fruit, though with apples she had to be careful to avoid the seeds. Humans could probably handle them without too much issue, but she had learned from experience that accidentally ingesting an apple seed made her very, very sick.
Adam was about halfway through his sandwich, when a slight movement from the corner of her eye caught Sunny’s attention. She paused eating her apple mid crunch and turned to look towards the movement.
She paused, eyes widening a little.
“Adam…. Don’t look now, but we have company.”
He paused, sandwich halfway to his mouth and turned his head pausing and staring as she had done as a troop of fuzzy foot and a half tall- bird-ish things came waddling up the hill towards them.
Again at about a foot and a half tall, the creatures walked on two legs like a bird. They had very big fluffy bodies and little heads that sat atop their ample fluff. A short thick beak sat at the front of their faces.
“Stay very still.” Sunny muttered from the corner of her mouth as the little troop of about fifteen creatures waddled up the hill.
They didn’t seem scared of the two strange looking aliens as they approached. Adam, despite Sunny’s warning leaned over to get a better look as one of them moved closer, “what are these?”
The creature was now only a foot or so away from him, and as Sunny watched, it’s small head rose up from it’s fluffy body suspended on the end of it’s long furry neck as it extended and nibbled at Adam’s sandwich.
He let off an exclamation of indignation as he pulled his sandwich away, “Ack!”
As soon as the strange noise came out from his mouth a chorus of other voices followed, “ACK.” As the entire troop parreted the sound back at him.
He was surrounded now on all sides, and from his opposite side another fo the creature’s extended his neck in an attempt to take a bit from his sandwich.
“Hey!” he shouted leaning the other way and huddling closer around his sandwich.
Sunny laughed, watching as the strange troop of birds began curiously pecking at him.
Two of them were pecking at his bootlaces, another was tugging at his pant leg. One of them had crawled into his lap in search of the sandwich, while two others were busy plucking at strands of hair atop his head. He had his hand raised high over his head in order to protect his sandwich.
She continued to laugh as their curiosity led one to stick it’s head down the front of his shirt.
He yelped in surprise.
And the group chorused the sound.
Sunny couldn’t hold back the loud barking laugh that spilled from hier, and just like that the group of them scrambled in fear hiding behind Adam in an unruly mob.
Adam frowned, and turned to look over his shoulder, looking back at Sunny with a frown.
One of the birds poked its head out from behind Adam, and upon seeing her it parroted Adam’s yelp of alarm and hid again, “Why aren’t they all over you?” Adam protested
Sunny snorted, “They can sense the danger.”
Adam frowned, ‘i’m dangerous.”
That made sunny laugh again, “You! You’re a marshmallow and they can sense it!”
Two more heads poked out from around Adam’s back, and the birds slowly began to wadner forward. One of them crawled back onto his lap, while the others moved to their palace at his bootlaces again.
A couple of them wandered over to sunny where they stood in a semi straight line to just stare at her. She stared back
Adam huffed in frustration, and Sunny turned to look at him, holding his sandwich above his head again, “I could eat you for lunch if I wanted.” He pointed over at Sunny, “She’s a herbivore.”
They didn’t seem to care, and continued to peck at him.
Eventually he was forced to stand up just to eat his sandwich, while they parroted any noise he made that wasn’t speech.
Sunny stood after he was finished eating, walking a little ways down the hill with him. The troop followed in a line at Adam’s heels, keeping to his left, where Sunny was on his right.
“Leave it to you to immediately make new alien friends.”
He squeezed her hand, “You have to admit, I’m pretty good at it.” He looked up at her out of the corner of his eye, “You being exhibit A.”
“Hmmm, I think you were a bit too good when it comes to me.”
His mouth twitched slightly, “Yeah, I sort of didn’t intend to make you fall head over heels for me.” She smiled openly now, “But who could blame you. I am pretty irresistible.”
Sunny would later insist that she shoved him very lightly, and he was just off balance enough to fall over and go rolling halfway down the hill with a troop of birds squawking after him. She would also deny the fact that she laughed when a few of the birds lost their footing and went rolling down the hill after him.
Of course she could be seen awkwardly running down the hill after to see if he was ok, only to come to a stop laughing again when she found him sprawled on his back with one of the creatures sitting atop his chest and another one pecking at his ears. She carried him back up the hill when he proved unable to walk due to dizziness.
“I thought you were a fighter pilot immune to dizziness.” She said
He crossed his arms just over the bird who had refused to get off his chest, and was not receiving a ride back up the hill courtesy of Sunny, “I AM but only when given warning. Generally I am not launched into flight without my knowledge.”
She snorted as she turfed him down back on the blanket, The bird squawking indignantly,
He frowned at it, “What is this?”
After a few minutes, the others followed, returning to their curious adventuring in his clothes and hair. One of them stuck it’s head into his sleeve without warning pradding him in the armpit and forcing him to make another yelping noise which they soon parroted back at him.
Sunny sat pointing and laughing at him as he suffered, though it could hardly count as suffering considering he was smiling so much, and seemed to be more than enjoying it.
Her sides hurt with how much laughing she was doing as his expense and couldn’t help but take a few pictures of his predicament.
It would have seemed strange to an outsider,, if they had come around a few hours later.
A drev and a human lying atop a blanket. The human using the Drev as a pillow, while both of them were surrounded by strange sleeping birdlike creatures, one resting on top of the human while the others hunkered down around them.
Eyes still closed Sunny asked, “So, despite our…. Uninvited guests. Did I do good.:
Adam didn’t open his eyes either, “This is probably the best time Ive had in the past week ,and that’s saying something.” he paused, “You did good.”
She smiled, “I know, I’m pretty amazing.”

just friends ☆ joshua bassett
Tumblr media
you and joshua are just friends and nothing else. promise.
warnings: angsty, some swearing, some steamy writing, at this point assume anything i write may be long
part I , part II
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
Your eyes flutter open slowly, a bright yellow light blinding you as you wake up. You rub your dry eyes and smooth out your messy hair. The pounding in your head disturbs you as you clear your throat. You attempt to sit up on your bed until an a strong arm left at your hip prevents you from moving up any further. You look to your side and see a familiar hand, so you look back further and saw your best friend, Joshua. His curly brown hair covered more than half of his face, only showing his slightly open mouth. Soft snores escaped his lips as you watched his chest rise up and down slowly. You almost completely forgot you slept over at his house last night.
You laid back down and faced Josh, wanting to stare at his calming features. His arm tightened around your waist and brought you slightly closer. You felt your cheeks heat up. You did your best not to wake him as you moved your arm to snuggle into his warm body more. Your plan failed when you felt him softly shuffle above you and let out a low groan.
“Y/N?” Josh groaned lowly. His morning voice next to your ear gave you goosebumps.
“Josh?” You whispered.
“Did I wake you up?” He said as he removed his arm from your waist to rub his eyes. He moved his arms back to you and brought you back closer to him tightly. “Sorry about that, angel.”
“I’ve been awake for a bit.” You mumbled into his shoulder.
“Do I have to do anything today?”
You shook your head to say no.
“Do you want to go to the diner and get breakfast?” He asked sweetly, bringing your head back to look at you. You nodded and he let out a soft chuckle.
Josh arm slid off your waist. He sat up and stretched out his arm above him, letting the blanket covering his body fall off and revealed his toned stomach. You almost forgot that he went to sleep without a shirt on. You also forgot how much Josh likes to work out on his free days. He got up from the bed and went to his dresser. He noticed how you kept watching him grab clothes from his drawer.
“Are you going to keep falling in love with me or are you going to shower? Because if you don’t go now I’m going to take my sweet ass time.” He joked.
You jumped up from his cozy bed and threw the blanket at Josh, covering his body. You did a quick stretch of your body and saw Josh look you up and down. “Don’t flatter yourself, sweetheart.” You strutted past him and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Yours and Josh’s friendship was odd. You’ve been friends ever since he moved to the house next to you five years ago. It started off as a normal friendship; You two would hang out all the time and even go on road trips once a month. Then about three years ago it shifted. You would always playfully flirt with each other, which confused all your friends and family. But neither of you saw it as flirting. You both somewhat understood what you were doing, but it never fully clicked as to how it actually seemed. Your parents would always tease you about him. You always went out to eat and see movies together, you would pretend to be dating if someone in public was making the other uncomfortable, and cuddling together or sleeping with each other became a norm. Either way, a relationship between you two would never work, you lived totally different lives.
Once Josh got hired to play the part of Ricky Bowen on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, he definitely needed some help managing all of his time, and basically his life. You would offer to help him any time he needed you, so he made the best choice to hire you as his assistant. It didn’t change your friendship, it’s just that now you know his schedule and have the numbers to his manager and his publicist. This choice, however, sparked more talk between not only your family, but also his fans. If he were to post a picture with you, then his comments immediately flooded with either questions about your relationship or them “shipping” you two.
You never thought of Josh as your boyfriend. When other friends or family would ask you about him and as to whether or not you did like him, you always said no, it’s what you genuinely believed. Although thoughts of you developing feelings for him did cross your mind, you thought it was just a phase and you would get over it. And you did. The idea of ruining your friendship brought you fear, probably more than the idea of being in a relationship, which you absolutely despised.
After you both took a quick shower, you grabbed your keys from your purse and went back to Josh’s room. He was bent over, looking for something in his drawer. He turned around and instantly had a smug smile on his face as he found what he was looking for. He found the sweater he was searching for in his dresser worn on your body. It was his light beige sweatshirt that he would wear when he recorded a lot of his music. Coincidentally, it was the same one he would give you every time he saw you sad or crying, to which you grew a strong fondness for it.
“I don’t get why you like that sweater so much, it’s literally my most plain and boring one.” Josh laughed as he brought you into his side with his hand on your waist.
“I don’t know either.” You lied.
“Whatever, you always make my clothes look way better than me.” He complimented, wrapping his arms around your head and yours around his waist for a tight hug. He pulled away slightly to look down at you, your noses barely touching. “Are you ready to go out?”

“Shut up, dickhead!”
Josh slammed his hands on the steering wheel of his car. His loud laugh burned into your ears with embarrassment and discomfort. He slammed his body on the back of his seat and clutched onto the sides of his stomach and the fabric of his sweatshirt. He snorted, trying to catch his breath.
“Y/N, you’re such an amazing girlfriend.” He joked
As to why Josh was now stuck in a fit of laughter was all your fault. While at the diner, Josh received a phone call from his manager, which he of course had to take. You were both waiting on any news about the show as he was promised a special announcement from Disney. He was told to come to set tomorrow to film something, but he didn’t know what yet.
The moment he left, the waitress that escorted you to your seats had come to take your orders. You told her what you wanted, and she asked about Josh, referring to him as your boyfriend. Without even thinking of what she said, you continued to tell her what you knew Josh would have wanted, which led her to believe he actually was your boyfriend. You still had not realized what happened until you were both finishing your food and the waitress came back with the check, mentioning you two as a couple. To not make it seem awkward, Josh played along ( and would not stop teasing you about it for the rest of breakfast ). So here you are now; Josh is still not able to breathe.
You shifted in your seat, “You can take me home now, Joshua.”
He wiped his teary eyes and calmed down from his fit of laughter. “Aww, I’ll stop now. I’m sorry for laughing so much.”
He placed his hand on your lower thigh and gently rubbed it. You eyed him and earned back a sincere smile. You rolled your eyes playfully at him, and placed your hand on top of his to give it a tight squeeze. He brought your hand up to his lips and gave it a soft kiss, making you hide your flushed face. Josh noticed and let out a quiet chuckle before starting the car.
“I was writing something a few days ago. I don’t know if I should record it.” Josh spoke, glancing at you.
You sat up straight and excitedly looked at Josh, “Can I hear it?”
“It sucks, Y/N.”
“Please, Josh. Everything you write is so beautiful. You know I love all of your songs, literally all of them.” You squeezed Josh’s hand tighter that stayed on your thigh.
“Maybe when we get home. It’s not a lot, it’s basically four lines, so don’t get your hopes up.” He warned.
“I’ll love it no matter what.” You smiled.

You followed Josh to the staircase of his house. He had promised to let you listen to his new song and record it if you “didn’t make a big deal out of it.” You sat two steps above Josh where you knew his phone camera wouldn’t get you in frame. He brought his ukelele out with him too, and he nervously fiddled with the strings.
“Don’t laugh, ok?” He mumbled, trying to sit on the step comfortably.
You shook your head and watched as he let out a deep breath. He scooted up to his phone and went to the camera, and hit the red record button.
“I wish you all the best,
cause lord knows you deserve it.
And it took me time to see,
but I understand,
the best just isn’t me.”
Josh finished playing the final chord and quickly stopped the video. He let out a large exhale and slowly faced you. You were in awe. You were always so greatful when he played his songs in front of you, especially because you were the first one to hear them. He was regularly writing love songs, and each time you thought for a second that he was thinking of you as he wrote it. You always convinced yourself that it was nothing or it was for someone else, but this song felt different.
“So?” He asked nervously.
“Josh,” You gasped out, “that was so beautiful.”
“Don’t lie, it sucked.”
You got up from your step and moved to sit next to him. He set his ukelele in the step above you two and faced his body towards you. You held his hands in yours and he squeezed them tightly.
“It’s an amazing song, Josh. If you put out all those songs you wrote you would understand how much of an amazing songwriter you are. You’re the best musician I know.
Josh looked up at you and gave you a small smile. He scooted closer to you and held your waist. You stared at him for what seemed like forever. Josh darted between your eyes and your lips. Instinctively, you slowly inched towards him, and you felt him do the same. Your lips were so close that you felt your breath fan over each other. Your mind raced with various thoughts; Just do it, if you never take the chance you will regret it. But if you take that chance and it ruins everything, then you would lose Josh.
A part of you stopped and backed away, Josh following suit. He quickly removed his hands from your waist and you scooted a few inches away from him. You cleared your throat and got up from the stairs. You held your hand out for him to grab and he hesitantly took your offer. He stood taller than you and with your chests almost touching.
“You want to watch a movie?” Josh asked, picking up his instrument.
“Sounds great. I’ll get the snacks.” You offered. You walked down the steps, leaving Josh alone to think about what just happened.
You ran down the remainder of the stairs and tried to reach the kitchen without stumbling, but you nearly ran into one of the bookshelves and almost fell over the couch. Your whole body felt lighter. You reached the kitchen counter and rested against it. Your hands grazed through your hair and roughly massaged it. The headache you felt from the past five minutes overtook you. You don’t like Josh that way, so why did you want to kiss him so badly?
Shaking your headache aside, you opened one of the wooden cabinets above you. You found the large box of popcorn that Josh bought and tried your best to reach for one of the packages. Once you did, you tore off the plastic packaging and harshly threw the bag into the microwave and set the timer. You laid back on the corner of the counter and let out a large sigh.
“Y/N?” You heard Josh’s voice from the living room and his steps that grew louder towards the kitchen. You immediately stood up straight and fixed yourself to look collected. He walked in and abruptly stopped when he saw you agaisnt his counter. You noticed his loss of words, “W-What movie do y-you want to watch”
“Anything, it’s your turn to pick the movie.” You replied.
He started to walk up to you and your breath got hitched in your throat. “Should I make hot chocolate?” He questioned.
You gave him a simple nod, trying not to stare at him for too long. He moved closer to you and you looked up at him. One of his arms gripped the counter to your side. He looked straight at you, his mouth slightly agape. You took in all his features once again.
“I’m sorry, I just need to get the mugs.” He whispered lowly, staring between you and the cabinet above you. You could have sworn he was about to lean in again.
Your head snapped back and you realized how much you overthink his little gestures. “It’s fine, I can get it.” You offered.
You turned around and stood on your toes, trying to reach for your favorite mugs. Why on the top shelf Joshua? Almost out of instinct, Josh held on to your waist to help you keep steady as you lunged for the cups. You let out a quiet gasp in shock. This isn’t new for him to do, stop overthinking. You eventually grabbed them and handed it over to Josh.
“I’ll make it just how you like it.” He smiled.

Josh decided that you should finish your High School Musical marathon and watch the final movie. The first 30 minutes of the movie could not have been more dreadful to watch. The tension in the air was thick, and you were both so used to singing the songs together right next to each other. You two were almost on opposite ends of the couch, which although wasn’t too far away from each other, there was still a gap between you. The only thing separating you two was the bowl of popcorn.
Troy and Gabriella met at the rooftop of their high school, he had just asked her to prom. As much as you tried to hold it in to not seem bored, you let out a quick yawn. Josh overheard the little whimper you let out and scooted closer to your direction.
“Do you want to lay down on my shoulder?” Josh asked politely.
“You don’t have to,” You denied.
“I insist, come.” He demanded. He held out an arm for you to snuggle into.
You reluctantly got up and moved the popcorn bowl to the coffee table in front of you and sat down next to Josh. You moved the sweatshirt that he took off from behind the seat and to your lap. You left the smallest bit of space to not seem weird, although, for you, this whole situation was weird. Josh chuckled at your nervousness and scooted in closer to stop the big space. His arm wrapped around your shoulder and you laid on his. It felt as though nothing happened between you two nearly an hour ago.
Troy and Gabriella were in the middle of singing, and you hummed softly to the music. You felt Josh’s stare burn through you, but you tried to hold back from looking at him. You paid as much attention to the movie as you could. The two in the movie were in the middle of the rain, and were staring at each other intently, almost like how you and Josh were a while ago. They slowly leaned in as they were about to kiss until the bell rang, interrupting their moment.
You heard a snort come from Josh, “I swear, they’re always about to kiss every ten minutes and something always stops them at the last minute.”
You giggled, “I know, they should just finish what they were about to start.”
“Yeah, we should.” Josh replied. You turned to look at him instantly, thrown off by his remark.
“What?” You shifted your body to face him, one leg laying on the cushion and tucked under the other leg hanging off the couch.
“You know what I mean, let’s finish what we started. Your words.” He insisted. “Did you ever think we were just friends?” He whispered into your ear, sending a shiver down your spine.
He altered his position to mirror you, facing your body directly. He rested his hand on your knee and moved closer to exclude any unwanted space between you two, playing with the material of the sweater still on your lap.
“Is this ok?”
“Yes.” You murmered directly.
You studied his eyes for any hint of a joke. Josh did nothing but admire you. His hand crept up to your cheek and the other around your waist. Like the staircase, you both veered towards each other. You felt his soft lips brush ever so slightly on yours, feeling his hot breath again. He drifted away the slightest to look at you, searching for any sign of discomfort or aversion. You gave a minimal nod as to let Josh continue, which was all he needed.
Josh pushed his lips onto yours for a soft and sweet kiss. The hand that wasn’t on his hot chest went to his neck. You kissed back gently. Josh pulled away extremely slow, lingering his lips on yours for however long he could. His eyes slowly fluttered open, showing an almost dreamy daze. His hands fell from your face and waist to your legs.
You stared at each other for the smallest second, before the confidence deeply hidden inside of you struck out. You pulled him back onto you, and Josh waisted no time in eagerly kissing you back. His hands traveled up your thighs, gripping them tightly. He swiftly grabbed his sweater that lay on your lap and threw it across the room. You pressed up your chest to his and tilted your head to deepen the kiss further.
Josh went to put his hand on your lower back, pushing his body weight forward. You slowly went down behind you until your back reached the couch softly. He hovered over you, passionately kissing you. You played with the curls on his hair, twirling it around your finger. You felt him bite down on your lower lip, making you gasp. He took the opportunity to slide his tongue in, feeding into your teenage hormones. You tugged at the hem of his shirt, trying to pull it off. Josh removed your hands and pushed you back down quickly, trailing long and awfully slow kisses from your lips to your neck. You felt him bite under your ear, earning a whimper from you. You could practically feel the smirk playing on his face.
He sat up from on top of you and pulled at his shirt from the collar, removing it completely. He quickly attacked your neck again, leaving deep red marks on your neck down to your collarbone, stopping where his sweater covered the rest of your body. You bit your lip to hold back the noises begging to come out. His lips traced back up to your face, fervently kissing your swollen lips. You tugged at his hair, making him groan into the kiss, and you quickly nudged his face up and to his neck. You were able to leave two big marks under his ear before he wanted to go back to giving you attention.
You heard a vibration coming from Josh’s pants. The buzzing didn’t seem to stop him, as he kept creating new marks all over your neck. You wish you would have ignored it too, but you knew it could have been his manager again about the show. You grabbed Josh’s face and held it up to you, his face confused as to why you stopped him.
“Your phone, Josh.”
“That can wait.” Josh grumbled, desperate for his lips to be back on your body. He was stronger than you, so he easily pushed your hands aside to kiss under your ear again.
“Josh,” You moaned out, pulling his face away from your neck again, “just answer it. I’ll still be here.”
He let out a groan, and kissed your lips tenderly once more. He got out his phone that was almost about to finish ringing, and got up from your position. You sat up as well, fixing your possibly messy hair.
“Olivia?” Josh sounded in shock as he answered the phone. “What do you mean you’re here? With Matt?”
Panic took over you and Josh, and he quickly threw on his shirt. You fixed up the couch, picking up the sweater that Josh threw earlier, and bringing the dishes left on the counter to the sink.
“Yeah, I’ll get the door right now, just give me a second.” He rushed, hanging up immediately.
“Should I leave?” You asked, reaching for your bag that was left on the floor next to the couch.
Josh rapidly grabbed your arm and held it to his chest, “No, no, no, please don’t. I promise it will be quick. You can stay.”
“They’re going to see your neck, and worst of all, mine.” You said in fear.
“Please, Y/N. Stay.” He begged.
You let out a sigh, holding his face in your hands to kiss his cheek, “I’ll be in your room.”

Josh had been gone for about 10 minutes, leaving you to hear them scream in joy for something you have yet to find out about. After a while it got quiet, which made you as to wonder if they had left or if they were still talking. Either way, you didn’t want to go down and check.
You took that time alone to really grasp what just happened. Everything moved so fast, and you weren’t prepared to face it. In the moment, you would have thought nothing of it, just pushing aside the reality of the situation and focusing on Josh’s body on yours. Now the guilt has come flooding in, overwhelmingly. You didn’t want to like Josh, it would just over complicate you relationship, as if it weren’t already. You hated the idea of dating, it was never something you were good at. All of your relationships ended with you being cheated on or lied to. You know Josh isn’t like that, but the memories it brings back is like nightmare fuel. And now you almost possibly hooked up with your friend ( and kind of your boss ).
You heard footsteps rushing up closer to Josh’s room, sending nerves to your body. The door swung open, making you jump in fear. Josh saw you lying on his bed, almost like this morning, and he tried to catch his breath.
“What happened, Josh?” You wondered, sitting up on the bed and walking up to him.
“We start shooting for our second season tomorrow!” He yelled out, a large smile built upon his face.
The anxiety somewhat washed away, leaving excitement for your friend. “That’s amazing! I’m so proud of you!”
Josh brought you back in for a tight embrace, picking you up off the floor. As he set you back down, he moved his head back to look at you. He leaned down again to try and kiss you, but you stopped him.
“I think we should talk about what happened.” Josh pulled away awkwardly, nodding.
“Yeah, you’re right.” He sat down on his bed, “Listen, I’m sorry if I took things too far. I honestly don’t know what came over me, it was kind of an ‘in the moment’ type of thing. I’m not usually like that.”
You sat down directly next to him, “I’m not saying I didn’t like it, because I sort of liked it a lot. But I’m more worried about what this means for us. We’ve been just friends for years, so why did today feel different.”
“It’s been feeling different, Y/N. Don’t lie to me and tell me you haven’t felt something change between us.” He argued.
“Josh, I know things have changed, but we can’t do this. We’re friends, and worse, I’m your assistant, too. How could that ever work out?” You whined.
“You being my assistant has changed nothing, absolutely nothing. And ‘only friends’ don’t sleep in the same bed together, or constantly flirt with each other, or make out on one’s couch.”
“What are you saying, Josh?” You asked reluctantly.
“I’m saying that I feel something for you that I know is wrong, but I have to express. Y/N, I like you, and maybe it took me a long time to realize but, fuck, you’re the best thing in my life.” He angrily blurted out. “All those songs I wrote, I always thought of you. I know you don’t like relationships, I know that. I’m so sorry I put you in this position, but please, let me try.”
You felt your eyes water, “This is all moving too fast for me. Josh, we can’t do this.”
“You couldn’t have said that before we made out?” He cried, rubbing his head restlessly.
“That was my fault. But I can’t, Josh. I’m sorry. I really want to say yes, but it’s all too much to handle at once. I’m so sorry.” You choked out, getting up from his bed.
“Y/N,” Josh stood up and grabbed your arm, forcing you to turn around.
“Just give me some time, alright? I’ll see you tomorrow.”
You yanked your arm out of Josh’s grasp and walked out the door, leaving Josh alone in his room to think if he ruined his life.
