Stay
Bi-Han x Reader (no gender specified)
Word count: 1499
Summary: Just some sad angst about Bi-Han’s significant other leaving him from his POV. Inspired by that scene of Kaz telling Inej to stay and Inej saying she'll have him without his armor. You don't gotta know the scene to know what I'm talking about. Just follow the plot.
Tumblr media
Bi-Han had a thousand thoughts spinning in his head and none of them wanted to quiet down.
He couldn't even focus on one. There were multiple voices in his head screaming at him, all of them wanting to be the loudest but all of them failing. It'd been like this ever since you made it clear that you were leaving.
Maybe some of this was his fault. No. Not maybe. This was his fault. He had become neglectful, and the edges he had became sharper and sharper. It seemed like he hurt you every time you got close.
Bi-Han being foolish and prideful thought it'd all go away. There was no need for deep talks, or breathers, or whatever else you managed to think of. He convinced himself it would all smooth over eventually. This was just a rough patch and it didn't seem to actually danger his relationship.
How wrong he was.
Time passed. Neglect built. Finally you two got into a huge argument and it seemed like this tipped the scales against him. You would be leaving.
He stood nearby but refused to look at you. Didn't matter though. His brain punished him anyway, making him relive the moment you slipped your ring off. It slipped off effortlessly, like it was always meant to come off. Like you two were always meant to fail.
Your stuff was gone, so he didn't understand why you were still here, but he didn't complain. You said something about grabbing a necklace, but he never saw you grab it and the last time he looked at you, you weren't wearing one.
Bi-Han had another problem besides his inability to look at you for an extended amount of time. His hands felt empty. He tried to pass time and fill that void by cleaning his mask with a hot rag, but it didn't work. It's not just that his hands were empty, it's that you weren't in them. It was weirdly funny when he thought about it. Bi-Han wasn't big on physical touch and whispering sweet nothings. He was capable of all the cutesy shit that was typical in relationships, he just didn't care for it.
But now? All he wanted to do was wrap his arms around you and force you to stay. He wanted to whisper every sweet thought he had about you in your ear. He wanted to praise everything about you, and he didn't mean just your looks. He wanted to praise you about the stupidest things; your walk, how you pronounce certain words, your laugh, how you look when the sun hits you, everything. Anything to make you stay. But he didn't. He stayed silent and he assumed that silence bothered you based on your sigh.
“I guess this is it then” you spoke, and it made his heart clench in his chest as he realized this would probably be one of the last things he heard you say.
He made a small noise of acknowledgement in response.
“Am I to take your grunting as words?”.
“Goodbye” he forced himself to say, but the words came out through gritted teeth. He could hear your footsteps get closer until you were in front of him. Your soft hands touched his, only to slide his mask out his hands and onto the table. He couldn't help but look at you then, taking in and memorizing every feature you had. There were plenty of things you didn't like about yourself. You were only human after all. Bi-Han disagreed about all of it though. If there was one thing he was forced to look at until his final days, he'd choose you everytime. He was just really bad at showing it and he hated himself for it.
“Is… is there nothing else you want to say? Just 'goodbye’?”
“What else should I say?”. You nodded then and a small “ok” left your lips. His fingers started to itch the second you looked away, that emptiness making itself known again. He didn't have his mask in his hands anymore, so his fingers tapped against each other, wanting desperately to grab you.
You had only taken one step.
“Stay”.
He didn't mean to say it. He didn't even notice he said it until you turned to look at him.
“What?”
“Stay” he said more firmly. His hand grabbed your wrist as if that would trap you with him forever. The tapping stopped, finally content now that you were touching. “I want you to stay”.
“And if I don't want to?”
“I need you to stay”.
It went silent then and he wished he could read your mind. Your face gave nothing away but sorrow and as tough as he tried to act, he knew his face looked the same. “I want you…”. He meant to add something else, but what was there to add? He couldn't pinpoint what about you he wanted. He just wanted you. All of you. Good, bad, ugly. He wanted it.
“And how do you want me to be?” You said after a second. “Obedient? Obeying your will? Being at your side when it's convenient and behind you when it's not?”. He looked away, not able to take how your brows furrowed when speaking and his hand slipped from your wrist.
He felt your hand touch his cheek and move his face to look at you. He couldn't help but close his eyes and lean into your touch, finding comfort in how familiar your hand felt against him. The world was incredibly cruel. It gave him the power to freeze everything but time.
“Do you want me to stay silent? To take what you give me and ask for nothing more? To never speak up? To just accept life for what it is?”.
His eyes scrunched together. Each word felt like a dagger being twisted inside him. Your voice narrated his memories and all he could see was how many times he took you for granted. If he could, he'd beat himself over the head and yell at himself to keep you close instead of doing what was natural and pushing you away.
“I want you Bi-Han”.
His eyes opened then, hoping maybe you changed your mind.
“But I want something different. And you… I'm not sure you're capable of change”. Your hand slipped from his face and he immediately grabbed your hand. He was delusional. He hoped the physical contact could somehow reignite the spark. Stupid and wishful thinking, but he hoped the Elder Gods were listening and would answer his prayers.
“I can change” he managed to get out. It was a lot quieter than his previous words, even if he meant for it to come out powerful and assertive. Something had to change your mind and convince you to stay. He'd bring all your stuff back by himself if he has to. He just didn't want you to start moving again.
You sighed and shook your head, “you don't change. This is just who you are and I can't take that from you”.
“Stay with me. Don't go”.
“I thought the Grandmaster would never beg or plead”.
“I do”.
Bi-Han was taught from a very early age that Grandmasters didn't negotiate. They never begged or pleaded or showed any signs of weakness. They ruled over their clan with perfection and always stood tall. Unmoving. There was no such thing as weakness.
But he was so incredibly weak when it came to you. Grandmasters didn't beg or plead but Bi-Han did, and he'd beg over and over for you to stay if it'd work.
That's the thing though. It wasn't working and he knew it.
He was far too late.
“I hope you know I loved you Bi-Han”
“Loved?”
“I love you”
“Then stay”
You smiled then. A smile that had absolutely no joy in it. Only mourning. Your hand slipped out of his and you reached up to wipe away the tears he didn't even know had fell. He wondered why you weren't crying. Whenever you fought recently, you always seemed to cry. Sometimes it'd be a few tears, other times you'd storm away and he'd hear you sob. Did he exhaust you this much? You had no more tears to spill? Did he really push you that far past your limits?
“I hope in our next life we're different. I hope we spend forever together”. Bi-Han wanted to argue with you. He wanted to shout at you and tell you that all of that could happen in this life, but he didn't. You made up your mind. It was clear. He didn't know what to say anymore. You loved him and he loved you so how did he mess it up this bad?
Your hand lingered until it finally left his face for the last time. You walked away, and this time he didn't stop you.
He watched you as you went, replaying your life together in his head and what he should've done differently.
I tried to pick the least threatening gif I saw and that was actually difficult. Where is your kindness sir? Also why is the indented shit spaced out so ugly in the beginning? Summary and word count not having one long line is gonna haunt me.

love not at first sight
Tumblr media
pairing: sam carpenter x fem!reader
summary: sam witnesses an intruder breaking in through her window at night...
words: 3.790k
warnings: pepper spraying, punching, swearing, bad writing
authors note: i'm sick, i'm sad and i'm sober. so i decided to drag my ass out of writers block and write about my wife
It was a dull Friday night in the Carpenter apartment; Tara out with her friends partying -much to Sam's dissatisfaction-, Quinn over at one of her boy toys apartment definitely having much more fun than Sam, who sat alone in her living room watching a movie with a glass of red wine.
The movie didn't interest Sam at all, to be honest she only really put on the first movie she saw so she wouldn't be alone in silence.
Sam always enjoyed solitude before the hallucinations, she used to love being alone with her thoughts. But ever since she found out that Billy fucking Loomis was her father, she's never been able to truly enjoy her alone time as she used to.
Paranoid at any given moment she'll hear his voice telling her to make her dark thoughts a reality.
As the movie reached its end Sam sighed, finishing off her wine with it.
The gnawing feeling of protectiveness hit her at the thought of Tara out there partying with her friends. Sam really hated Tara constantly going out to parties, the fear of not knowing where Tara is at all times scaring her more than she'd like to admit.
Sam stood up slowly from the couch as she pulled her phone out of her back pocket, unlocking it to send Tara another message.
Sam (8:45pm): If you need me, call me and I'll be there straight away.
Tara (9:21pm): ok
Sam (10:13pm): I'm heading off to bed soon, I've left the door unlocked for you, please don't stay out too late.
Tara (11:38pm): thx
Sam (12:12am): It's getting quite late now, Tara. Please be back before one, I don't like you staying out so late.
Sam stared at the screen for a few minutes in hopes Tara would respond quickly, but it didn't surprise her when she didn't. Shutting her phone off she shoved it back into her jean pocket, heading towards the dark kitchen with her empty glass of wine.
How sad is this, Sam thought sarcastically to herself as she dropped the glass next to the sink, leaning against the counter for a moment.
Just for that moment she heard a sound, it was essentially non audible, but somehow Sam heard it.
Turning around so her back faced the counter Sam slowly opened the drawer and grabbed the one of many pepper sprays, gripping it tightly in her right hand.
The room fell silent.
Sam's eyes peered around the kitchen frantically, desperately trying to figure out where that noise came from.
When suddenly the kitchen window began rolling open slowly, and a few moments later a figure emerged.
The kitchen wasn't lit with any light which didn't allow Sam to see the intruders face, using that to her advantage she creeped towards the person who had no clue Sam was there.
"I'm never touching fucking jäger again." A feminine voice slurred out, wobbling towards the wall, aimlessly looking out for a light switch.
Sam's steps were featherlight as she crept behind her, her eyes cold and dark as the woman's hand found the light switch on the wall.
The lights flickered on causing the woman to groan as she turned away, her body turning to look at Sam.
Before the woman could do anything Sam without hesitation pepper sprayed the woman right in her eyes erupting a loud scream from the woman.
"Who the fuck are you?!" Sam yelled darkly as she stepped back, the screaming woman covering her already crying red eyes.
"Who the fuck are you?!" You yelled back, copying Sam's words but with much more emotion compared to Sam's tone void of one. "My eyes! I think I'm going blind?!" You screeched, Sam rolled her eyes coldly as she threateningly raised her hand up again, holding the pepper spray.
"Why are you in my apartment?" Sam demanded her patience for this drunken stranger running thin.
"My eyes are burning, oh god they're melting off aren't they?" You whined before she coughed aggressively, completely dismissing Sam's question. "Why did you attack me?" You screamed as you dropped your hands from your eyes, revealing your red bloodshot eyes with red puffy skin, tears flowing out of your eyes at a rapid pace.
"Why wouldn't I?" Sam spat out as she lowered her hand back down, although you were a complete stranger she knew she meant no harm and was only a drunken fool.
You scoffed as you glared at Sam, coughing as you covered your hand over your mouth. "Look, I don't care if you're one of Danny's sleeping buddies, I will kick your ass out of my apartment."
Danny?
"Your apartment? This is my apartment you fucking idiot, nobody named Danny even lives here!" You blinked frowned as you opened your mouth to argue, your eyes finally scanning the scenery around you, finally you noticed that this wasn't your apartment.
Your burning eyes widened dramatically as you turned to look at Sam, eyes not even focused on her.
"You're not one of Brackett's bum buddies?" You questioned in a slurring voice. Sam grimaced at the thought as she figured out you somehow knew Danny, her new friend.
"Danny doesn't even live here, lady. He lives in the apartment complex opposite of here." Sam explained through gritted teeth as she pointed towards the window you came from, pointing towards the other apartment building.
"Oh." You mumbled. Sam scoffed as she nodded her head. "Yes, oh."
"Where the fuck am I then?" Sam was about to strangle you, she swears on her dead fathers grave.
"You're in my house, not yours and Danny's, and I'd really appreciate it if you'd fuck off." Sam explained as she stormed off past you, hitting you in the shoulders as she headed towards the door.
You scoffed loudly as you sloppily turned around to peer at where Sam was going. "No need to be rude, Miss Pepper Spray." You said, laughing a little at your own words as if you were the funniest person on earth.
Sam rolled her eyes as she opened the door with force, leaning against the door. "You live with Danny Brackett?" She asked to which you nodded her head, walking towards Sam, almost tripping over yourself in your high heels.
"How do you know, Miss Pepper Spray?" You mumbled as you walked past Sam, leaving the apartment in whole.
Sam felt ever so tempted to slam the door shut and forget about you, but that gnawing feeling of letting you walk alone in the night didn't feel right to Sam. Especially since you were having issues seeing because Sam had pepper sprayed you.
Biting the inside of her cheeks she watched as you wandered to the opposite end of where the stairs were, talking to yourself at how much your eyes hurt.
"Fuck sakes." Sam grumbled before she marched towards you, dragging you back into the apartment.
"Stop moving so fast!" You whined as Sam shut the door, walking towards the dining table still holding your forearm.
Sam ignored you as she forcefully sat you down on one of the wooden chairs, turning her back on you a few seconds later to grab a 'Pepper Spray Antidote' spray from the same draw she got the pepper spray.
A purchase she had made many months ago after Chad peppered sprayed himself in the eyes.
"Am I back home?" You asked as Sam approached you, her eyes still cold as she grabbed at your jaw, making you look up at her.
Your painfully red eyes widened at the hold. "Don't kill my eyes again please!"
Sam rolled her eyes as she showed you the spray. "This will help with the pain." Sam told you, to which you beamed at. She took that as permission as she  stepped closer to you, standing between your legs as she stared down at you. Carefully she began spraying a large amount of the liquid into your eyes, her grip on your jaw softening the slightest.
As Sam suddenly noticed the closeness she couldn’t help but notice how utterly gorgeous you are.
Every single feature about you Sam couldn’t help but find attractive. Your hair, your figure, your lips, your small relieved smile and even your eyes, even when slightly swollen and bloodshot she could still admire your beauty.
Was it the wrong time to think that?
Once she sprayed more than enough on both eyes she dropped the spray onto the table. "Better?" Sam asked, you nodded your head slowly as Sam felt you lean into her hand. "Still hurts like a bitch though."
"Can you see better?" She questioned once again; her voice had softened but you couldn't tell the difference.
"Kinda."
"Good enough." She mumbled as she dropped her hand from your jaw. "I'm taking you back to your actual apartment now, lady. So c'mon."
"Lady? That's fancy." You snorted as you wobbly stood up, arms spread out as you tried to balance yourself.
Sam tried not to facepalm at the entire situation, it made it even harder since Sam for some reason made it her duty to look after you.
"Can you walk?" She asked impatiently, her eyes flickering down to your heels. You looked down with Sam, giggling like a child.
"Jesus, I forgot how big these heels are." Sam sighed as she looked around the apartment to see if there were any trainers near. Her eyes landed on her old Nike trainers, those will do, she thought to herself as she went over to grab them.
Picking them up off of the floor she returned to you. "Do you want to walk back home in these?" You nodded your head greedily at that.
"Please, my feet are killing me more than my eyes." You slurred as you dropped back down onto the chair. Slowly, you took off your heels with a relieved moan.
Not wanting to waste more time, Sam simply dropped to her knees and put the shoes on for you.
"Holy shit, I'm like cinderella." You laughed drunkenly as you looked down at Sam with amusement. Sam huffed as she gazed back up at you, an unamused look on her face. "And you're my prince charming, well, my princess charming. Girls do it better anyway."
Amen to that
Sam stood up swiftly as she offered her hand to you, to which you accepted with a lazy smile. "Thank you my princess charming who pepper sprays people."
The corners of Sam's mouth twitched upwards to which she instantly fought the urge to smile.
"Stop calling me that." Sam mumbled as she walked alongside the slightly more sobered up you, taking slow steps.
"But Miss Pepper Spray Princess Charming is such a good name." You argued with a grin as you walked much straighter than beforehand, still swaying from side to side but it had decreased compared to earlier.
Sam rolled her eyes as your high heels dangled from her hands. "Just call me my real name, Sam."
You turned to look at her with hazy eyes as you smiled widely. "Sam." You said slowly, as if you were testing her name. "I'll just call you princess Sam then."
Sam sighed instantly and she regretted telling you her name, more focused on making sure you'll make it home safely Sam stayed silent.
"So, princess Sam, you wanna guess my name?" You asked, breaking the silence that Sam hoped would fill the walk to Danny's apartment.
"No." Sam grunted as she walked in front of you while walking down the stairs, just in case you'd fall on her, Sam breaking your fall.
You rolled your eyes at Sam's boring answer. "No isn't my name. Try again?"
"Can't we walk in silence until we arrive at yours and Danny's apartment?" You shook your head with a goofy grin as Sam held the door open for you, giggling as you walked past her. "Thank you princess charming Sam, and the answer is no. So guess!"
"Jesus Christ." The tall woman muttered under her breath as she walked by your side, her shoulder touching yours. You snorted as you turned to look at her with an amused expression. "I ain't the big J."
"Annoying?" Sam said sarcastically.
"You're really bad at this guessing game you know." You mumbled as you accidentally leaned closer to Sam as you walked.
Sam huffed a dry laugh as she looked around the quiet street before she crossed the road with you.
"And you really know how to be fucking annoying."
"That's kinda of a cunt thing to say rather than charming, princess Sam." You remarked with a giggle.
Sam's jaw tightened as she would've rather went to the party with Tara rather than have to deal with you, a drunken stranger breaking into her house.
"You're just gonna give up on the guessing game?" You teased with a slight slur still audible to your voice.
Sam nodded her head curtly as she opened the double doors to the apartment complex, holding it open for you once again.
"Guess you'll never find out then." You said as you strolled over to the elevator, grinning to yourself as you entered it.
"How sad." She spat out sarcastically. Sam followed as she stood next to you, who's leaning against the wall.
You clicked the button '7' and within a second the doors closed as a soft hum of elevator music filled up the metal box, taking the two of you upwards.
You hummed along with the music, eyes focused on the small digital clock on top of the doors. Sam studied you -who was completely unaware of her peering eyes- with an un described expression.
Had it been anyone else Sam would've thrown them out without a second thought, maybe even gone further than pepper spraying if the person fought back. But she's going all the steps with you, a complete stranger who randomly lives with her friend.
Is she only doing this in case Danny would find out she had kicked out his venerable and stupid roommate at night, or was it something else?
Sam isn't sure herself.
The elevator dinged loudly dragging Sam out of her thoughts, you sighed as you sluggishly walked out of the elevator, Sam following behind you.
You walked over to the apartment door to which Sam quickly wrapped her long slender fingers around your wrist, dragging you towards the correct door she knew Danny Brackett lived in.
"My saviour, princess Sam." You giggled to yourself.
Sam had completely run out of her patience by this moment, her body tired as she had to deal with this drunken stranger.
Banging on the door roughly with her hand in a tight fist, she stayed like that until a pissed off Danny opened the door.
His eyes widened in confusion as he took in the scene of you, still drunk and leaning against Sam and Sam with an unamused expression.
"You're lucky I didn't kill her." She mumbled to him. You grinned as you noticed Danny, throwing your arms up in the air.
"Ignore her Danny, Princess Sam is just grumpy." You told him as you walked past him, turning to look at Sam one final time, grinning like a fool as you waved enthusiastically. "Bye princess charming Sam."
Sam rolled her eyes as she fluttered her eyes away from your figure to Danny's very apparent smirk.
"Princess Sam?" He asked with amusement, Sam shook her head in annoyance. "Don't."
He laughed as he crossed his arms over his chest, glancing back at you tripping into your room before he leaned against the doorframe.
"Did you see her at the club?" He asked to which Sam shook her head, stifling a dry laugh.
"She broke into my apartment thinking it was yours, so I pepper sprayed her." Danny's eyes widened dramatically as she did a double take back to the direction of your room.
"Fuck, I'm so sorry Sam. That couldn't have been nice. Y/n is such a stupid twat when she gets hammered." He apologised with a sympathetic smile. "Thank you for making sure she got home safe though, even though what she did was just stupid."
Y/n, that name suits her, Sam can't help but think.
Sam laughed for the first time that day as she nodded her head in agreement with him. "Very."
He sighed as he rubbed his eyes with his index finger and thumb. "I'm gonna go make sure she doesn't choke on her own puke. Again, sorry about her."
"Goodnight, Danny." Sam said with a crooked smile before she turned to leave, more desperate to get to her bed than before.
____________
That night it didn’t take long for Sam to fall asleep. Tara was thankfully back in the apartment and fast asleep in her bed before Sam had even arrived back, which granted Sam permission to lock the door.
Sam couldn’t help but think about you as she fell asleep, much to her annoyance. Her mind kept wandering back to you at any given moment.
Why hadn’t she heard Danny mention you before? How much did you have to drink? How the fuck could someone be so breath takingly beautiful even when shitfaced? Did you think of Sam before you fell asleep?
Eventually Sam managed to fall asleep and stayed asleep for the rest of the night until the day. For the first time in a long time, Sam didn’t have a shift the next morning so the woman could have a much needed lay in.
Waking up around eleven Tara had somehow awakened before her, tiredly making her hangover breakfast. Sam grinned as she entered the kitchen to greet her sister, feeling much better than her younger sister.
The two chatted amongst each other as Sam helped Tara cook since she was convinced Tara was the absolute worst cook ever, always burning or undercooking her meals. After the two had made their meals they moved to eat it in the living room, Tara putting on Brooklyn Nine Nine for them to watch.
As they began eating a loud knock was heard at the door, Tara groaned at the loud noise as Sam sighed getting up from the comfy couch. She placed her plate on the coffee table before she walked over to the door, looking through the peephole she was surprised to see you standing there wearing thick black sunglasses and a small backpack.
Sam hesitated for a moment but reluctantly unlocked the door for you, leaning against the doorframe once she opened the door. You gave Sam a nervous smile as your hand went to lay on the back of your neck.
“Hey, Sam.” You croaked out in a much more sober voice compared to the one you had last night. “Did you sleep well?” You added after a few seconds.
Sam shrugged her shoulders as her eyes gazed at your face, a weird feeling tugging at her heartstrings the longer she gazed at your sunglasses, knowing you were hiding your swollen red eyes.
“Slept as well as a robber after a successful break in.” You chuckled as you nodded your head weakly, your hand dropping from your neck. “I guess that wasn’t the best way to meet, was it?”
Sam scoffed loudly. “No it was not.”
You smiled nervously at the woman as Sam noticed a small blush appearing on your cheeks. “I’m really sorry about that, by the way. I drank way too much, and I know that’s not an excuse for my actions, but the alcohol definitely didn’t help me in any way.” You apologised with an awkward laugh.
For some reason Sam found amusement in the entire situation, fighting the urge to smile because of you once again. “Yeah, I heard you mumbling something about never touching jäger again.”
You automatically winced at the words as if they were revolting, this time Sam couldn’t help but let out a dry laugh at the sight. “I’m honestly impressed I can even stand up straight right now. I had like sixteen shots of jäger from a drinking game.” You said as you pointed at your sunglasses. “Which explains why I'm wearing these glasses indoors, I cannot handle light at all right now. Plus I didn’t want to traumatise people with my fucked up eyes.”
“At least the glasses make you look like a bodyguard.” Sam inquired with a small smile tugging at her lips, you laughed as you nodded your head. “Robber by night, con artist by day.” You say grinning.
Sam laughs at the stupid joke, the corner of her eyes crinkling as her lips curl upwards in a larger smiler.
Why the fuck am I laughing so hard, that was a shit joke.
“Anyway, I came here for another reason other than apologising.” You explained as you shrugged off your bag. Sam watched you carefully as you took out Sam’s borrowed pair of shoes, smiling nervously as you passed them back over. “Thanks for letting me borrow these, Princess Charming.”
Sam rolled her eyes as she snatched the shoes from you, biting her inner cheek. “Just call me Sam..”
You shook your head as you smirked, letting out a low laugh as you zipped your bag back closed, throwing it over your shoulders. “But you’re the princess charming to my cinderella.”
“Whatever.” Sam muttered with a small smile.
You sighed as you glanced down the hallway before you looked back at Sam, your mouth opening to say something before you abruptly shut it before any words could be uttered. Pursing your lips you nodded your head at Sam.
“See you around, Sam.”
Sam almost frowned as she noticed you were leaving, instead she gave you a curt nod back. You waited for a second for Sam to say anything but she stayed silent, you smiled at her one final time before you turned to leave.
She watched you leave until you were fully out of her view, only then she sighed before reentering her apartment, holding her shoes as she walked back towards the living room.
“Who was that?” Tara asked, her voice loud taking Sam by surprise, making the woman drop the shoes. “Shit.” Sam grumbled as she bent down to pick them up, as she snatched at the pair she noticed a piece of paper on the floor.
Her brows furrowed together confused as she went to grab it with her free hand. As Sam read the small ripped piece of paper the corners of her lips curled up into a smile.
“i usually make better first impressions, maybe i could show you on a date sometime? :)

You were relatively new to overwatch, but you were strong. The team knew you had their back, and that’s all that mattered; it also helped you have omnikinesis. But you couldn’t control it that well; you were unstable.
That’s why you reached out to overwatch, to control yourself before you hurt the others around you again. It’s a good thing they found out about you before talon or who knows what could have happened?
Speaking of Talon, you are having a team fight against them now. They tried to destroy another omnic and human peace event. Some of the richest humans and omnics were attending.
So you, Ana, Mei, Winston, and Lifeweaver were on guard duty. And lo and behold, here comes Sigma, Sombra, Reaper, Moria and some other big guy you didn’t know to ruin the party. Everyone began to run around in the grand dining room.
Sombra was hacking communications, so you couldn’t check on your backup. Mei and Ana were dealing with Reaper, and Moria, Winston, and Lifeweaver were dealing with Sombra and Sigma. That left you with the hulking, raging giant with tribal tattoos.
You quickly dodge his machine guns, using everything around you in the room as a shield. You quickly hide, trying to regain yourself; if you lose focus, you lose control.
“HEY HEY HEY WHERE DID YOU GO?!”
You hear smashing and bullets flying, trying to think of a plan in your head.
“EITHER YA COME OUT OR I START SETTING SHIT ON FIRE YOUR CHOICE HAHAHA!”
“Ok your completely insane” You whispered
You snuck around the hulking hot head. You hype yourself up to do a sneak attack that hopefully won’t take down the whole building. You focus on all the skylights and chandlers, bringing them down on top of the hulking man before jumping on his back, ready to detain him.
Until you were encased in darkness.
You find yourself squished by the man who was trying to kill you just moments ago. You were lying on his chest and straddling his waist while he was scrunched up and bent forward. You look up at him, seeing the snarl on his face.
“Ummmmmm hi there” , his eyes narrowed at you.
“What the fuck did you do!”.
You look at him startled and confused. “What do you mean I thought this was you?”
He looks like he’s about to yell at you again untill you both hear somthing.
“(Y/N)! Can you hear me!” It was Ana “YES!”
“Sigma got you two stuck in there!”
The large man shouted right in my ear while his chest rumbled underneath me. “HE DID WHAT!”
“Ah Mauga my friend would you like to hear about my new project. I was trying to trap the other one but you’ll make a great tester as well!” you could hear the collective sighs outside.
“It’s a black cube! One could say it’s a miniature black hole, but not a black hole at all, just a void in cuboid shape. It’s supposed to hold matter and keep it stabilized in place. It’s purpose is to hold things until it fully disappears on its own. Can you hear the melody within the universe? ”
You could feel the man named Mauga stiffen beneath you, you stiffen as well.
“Does that mean we dissapear to!” You scream
“Hmm possibly or maybe it will disappear without you in it the possibilities are endless.”
Your about to speak again when you hear Mauga grunt, you look up seeing him move his head down, that’s when you realize it’s shrinking now.
“It’s shrinking now!”
“Don’t worry (Y/N) given the circumstances we will work together until your both out”
“Don’t die in there Mauga I still have use for you” You shiver hearing Moria speak in such a way it’s gross.
You look up and see Mauga looking annoyed and uncomfortable “I’m sorry”
“Why you didn’t do nothing”
“It’s just that, if it shrinks without disappearing you’ll die. I could probably protect myself if I think of a way but I don’t know how it would affect you I can’t fully control my powers.” All he does is hum in response.
“(Y/N)! Can you use your powers to force the cube open!” Now that’s and idea but before you could even think about it Sigma speaks again.
“If you try to force a black hole to seperate it may disrupt everything around it destroying us all”
but sigma speaks again “But if she uses her powers and makes a black whole within a black hole?”
“Then Mauga dies, it would be such a waist but it may be an easier option” Moria spoke again, you could see Mauga rolling his eyes “Fuck you”
You look back up at Mauga you can still see the cube slightly shrinking again. “Mauga who are you?” He looks at me confused not saying a word. You sigh and speak again.
“If I’m going watch someone die in a cube I at least want to know them.”
You can’t help but stare into his eyes; he looks very handsome. Just something about him being a giant hunk of muscle with a sharp tooth smirk had you enticed.
He looks at you and puts a smirk on telling you the basics: he fought a war, he got two hearts, he lives his life as he pleases, and the rest is history.
You learned he liked video games, he takes pride in being strong and actually works out, letting you know he’s not an experiment with Moria, he’s a hot head but he’s passionate, and you even learned you both own a pair of shark slides.
The cube really did seem to be some type of black hole because you lost track of time and talked for what seemed like hours.
“Since you wanna know me so bad you mind doing me a favor” you nod looking at him
“If I die in here do something for me” You stiffen and look away sadly; you didn’t want to think about him dying in here, especially being responsible for someone’s last wishes.
You may be able to save yourself with your powers, but not at the expense of Mauga's life. You could only hope you would get out before then.
“I need you to tell Bap that I was mad at him for trying to blow me up and for leaving me behind. I was willing to drag his ass back; I missed him. Tell him the next time he grows a conscience, don’t skip out on your friends.” You looked at him confused, but nonetheless agreed.
“Ummm ok I’m not even going to get into that, is that all” He looks away and ponders “Make sure my turtle plush and guns are buried with me to and make my funeral a celebration of me not some sad ass drag of a day”
“Considering we’re technically supposed to be enemy’s I don’t think I’ll be able to plan that who knows what they’d do to your body, but I’ll try my best”
“That’s all I ask”
We stare into each others eyes what seems like forever. Until he leans down more moving his forhead to mine “One more thing?”
You look into his eyes shyly looking away when his gaze got to intense. He looks at me giving me a wink and that damned smirk of his. “What is it?”
“I always said if I died, I’d be on my terms. I wanted go out happy with a gun in each hand and a smile on my face. But right now I think the only thing that could make me happy is if I was taken care of by a beautiful lady?”
You blush looking at him with wide eyes “Are you asking me to have sex with you!?”
“Can’t really do that in this position doll” He’s laughing his ass off, you want to wipe that smirk off his face.
“Then what do you mean?”
He looks down your breast and you blush getting and idea of what he wanted. “If you could let me lay my face in those big tits of yours that’s a way to go” he smirks.
You feel your blush go from your face to your neck. “We don’t even know if your going to die Mauga, they could be done getting us out any minute.”
You listen outside to see if I can hear anything.
“We are not destroying the cube Moria!”
“Why not Mauga can be replaced and that girl can cause the destruction of our universe she’s a liability and a threat”
You could only mumble under your breath. “Your ugly face is a liability and a threat to everyone’s day and stomach”
You hear Mauga chuckle. “Don’t worry I’ll make sure to fuck up all her lab shit if I get out of this”.
You noticed his words if. And you couldn’t deal with that. If he died you’d have been to useless to stop it and in that moment you didn’t want to think about him dying.
You can see the cube shrinking more but Mauga doesn’t make a sound of discomfort, it’s like he doesn’t want to bother you every time the cube gets smaller.
“Hey Mauga”
“What’s up?”
You wrap your arms around his broad shoulders and push his face down into your breast. You don’t know what possessed you, but the thought of giving him his last wishes made you confident in your decision.
Mauga snuggles his head in your chest. You hold him there pushing his head down , not wanting him to see your blushing face making this even more awkward.
As if he can sense your distress Mauga motor boats your chest making you laugh. “Hahaha what the heck Mauga!”
“Just enjoying my new home. I love it here.”
He pushes his face deeper in your breast, inhaling your sent. “Hmmmm I really love it here” You feel him lick your chest.
“Mauga! W-what are you doing”
You pull back to find him looking at you with lust in his eyes and a shit eating smirk.
“You looked nervous I wanted to break the ice. I want you to enjoy this too. Can I?”
You don’t know if it was the way he looked at you, or because this was the first time you’ve felt a man’s touch like this, or maybe it was the fact that you wanted to help him; either way you nodded your head giving him the green light.
He puts his forehead against yours once more. “I need words sweetie, tell me what you want”
You look down refusing to make eye contact “I want you to touch me Mauga”
He slowly moves in and kisses your lips, his lips are surprisingly soft he pulls back biting your bottom lip. He moves his face down back to your breast, kissing and biting them slightly, leaving read marks on your skin. You use the front of your hands to pull down the top of your dress, thanking yourself the dress you had on didn’t require you to wear a bra.
He looks up at you as he slowly licks around your breast, taking a nipple in his mouth. His hands cant reach your chest so he settles on placing them on your ass.
Your eyes roll back in pleasure as he suckles on your nipple, his tongue flicking against it softly. He gropes your ass, squeezing your cheeks roughly. You can’t help but moan softly in his ear.
He releases your nipple with a loud pop giving the same attention to the other while nibbling it.
You can feel something slightly poke at you. You realized Mauga got hard. He felt so big even behind his pants. You slightly raised yourself to sit on top of his dick and begin to grind on his erection.
Hoping to give him and yourself some relief, your panties were soaking wet from the attention. You didn’t want to think about the wet spot you were about to leave on his pants.
“Fuck~, you feel so good sweetheart.”
You were about to respond but the cube starts to shake rapidly. You quickly pull your dress up and hold on to Mauga. All you can think about is his safety wanting to put both of you in a shield that could protect you no matter what.
And it seemed like your powers agreed. Because the next thing you know, you and Mauga are in a giant bubble floating above everyone.
He’s looking at you with wide eyes his frown turning into a giant smirk. “I made you feel so good you broke the cube huh”
Your embarrassment must have faulted your concentration, because you two instantly fell from the sky. You land on top of him in front of everyone making it even more awkward.
Everyone looked down at you two before you quickly got up and walked towards your team while covering yourself, just incase you didn’t put your dress on quite right. Reaper spoke up
“Next time you all die”
Ana spoke before anyone else “Oh shut up Gabriel I’m sick of the death jokes”
As they begin to leave Mauga turns towards you giving you a wink.
“It was fun sweetheart”. And he walks away with the rest of talons members.
Mei spoke up while everyone else looked at me “Did he hurt you (y/n)?”
“No he didn’t, he’s just messing with me”
They all nodded and we all begin to retreat back to headquarters. You could only guess sombra hacked everything before you even tried to get back up because no one showed. You started to wonder if you’d ever see Mauga again.
That thought alone made you blush. Lifeweaver tapped your shoulder. He gave you a smirk showing you he was laughing at you. You look at him confused wondering what was so funny.
“What is it?”
He leaned down and whispered in your ear.
“I hope he wasn’t to rough with you”
You looked at him in horror and confusion how could he even know! You looked down to your chest seeing dark red marks all over your breast.
Dammit Mauga!

I live for Bucky and Spook and I have kids on the brain after rewatching the scene with Buck and Bucky talking to British kids Billy and Sammy so hear me out: Spook offering to babysit for one of the Brit’s kids and one of the kids sees them flirting and asks if they’re gonna get married
All The Things I Did (Interlude): I Want To Give You The World
Tumblr media
a/n: ok this interlude became very important to the story. hints at post-berlin (promise we will see pre-berlin soon) cass and john, cass/lemmons/local children fluff, meeting cass' older brother, and hot times on a blanket in a field. interlude requests always open//inbox and DMs ready to accept screams. see you all soon!
The tip of the pencil snapped under the force she was using to press it into the paper. It was the fourth one in the past half hour. She thinks she was going to lose her mind. That the walls were closing in around her like a personal prison cell. That is almost exactly what it was.
The doctors and the OSS had her grounded post-Berlin. They had offered her two choices. Extended stay at a flak house or operational pause and desk duty. Cass had thought she was making the right decision. The former had meant leaving base and leaving John. After she had just gotten him back. After they had only just spent the night together and discovered the bliss of waking up in each other’s arms. No. She couldn’t leave him after all that. But desk duty. Desk duty was causing her slow decline. And to add insult to injury, John had been tasked with a mission to North Africa anyways.
She was trying to catch up on her reports and her targeting packages but it wasn’t enough. John wasn’t here to distract her. Colonel Harding would just flirt with her. Everybody else was locked in their own offices and working frantically. She was alone on her own boredom island.
----
Assuming some sunshine might do the trick, she found herself walking the runways. They were empty just like her heart. Her mustachioed pilot off in a far away land no doubt enjoying his time in the desert. Cass imagined he was still finding a way to cause trouble. Had asked him to look up her brother while he was there. She hoped Bobby at least ribbed him a little bit.
“Lemmons, what have we got going on over here?” It looked like a plane engine and it looked like he had children holding wrenches and helping him work on it.
“Lieutenant Cooper!” The kids saluted her with a smile. She lifted her hand with a laugh in reply.
“Just teaching these kids how to take apart an engine,” Lemmons answered. “Don’t get a lot of down time.” Cass hummed and reached towards the tool kit to pick a wrench of her own.
“Got room for one more?”
----
“Miss Cass?” One of the little girls had been finding Lieutenant too hard to pronounce the past couple of days so she had given her permission to use her name.
“Yes, ma’am?” They were all sitting together around a bonfire that Lemmons had started. The kids were roasting whatever they could put on a stick and telling stories about all the fun them and the mechanics were getting up to.
“Can you tell the story about Prince Bucky and Princess Spook again?” Spending this time with them was a breath of fresh her. Reminded her of her nieces and nephews back home that she missed so dearly.
“Where did we leave off?” A couple of the other kids gathered around at the murmur that the story was continuing.
“Prince Bucky was using his flying unicorn to kill the evil dragon!”
“Oh please, Miss Cass, tell us if Princess Spook is okay.” She ignored the smirks of the men that were also present. Cass gave them a ‘can you blame me’ look. She missed her man and this was one of the ways she knew how to fill the void.
“Prince Bucky arrived at the castle just in time, the dragon about to breathe fire into the window where Princess Spook was asleep.” They gasped, fully committed to the story. “She woke up and looked out the window and saw Prince Bucky and his sword, ready to kill the dragon!”
“I’m sure Bucky is very proficient with his sword,” one of the mechanics scoffed around his cigarette. Cass shot him a look that could kill him and he quieted instantly.
“He raised it high,” she lifted her arms over her head, “and brought it down right through its scales before it could kill the Princess.” The children breathed a sigh of relief.
“Are they going to get their happily ever after, Lieutenant?” Lemmons asked with a grin.
“What do you all think? Should the Prince and Princess be together forever?” They all nodded furiously, Cass laughing at the chocolate on their faces.
“Miss Cass, they should get married and then Princess Spook can wear a really big dress.”
“Then they’ll be King and Queen!”
“And King Bucky can slay a million more dragons!” Two of the boys turned towards each other with their sticks and began to use them as their own swords. The rest of the kids took their cues and took off into the darkening field to act out their own version of the fairytale.
“They’re good kids, Ken. It’s nice that you’ve taken them under your wing.” Cass bumped his shoulder playfully as he blushed around his sip of beer.
“They are much more into Princess Spook than they are plane engines these days, Lieutenant.”
“Cass, please. No ranks around the fire.” She poked at it gently. The distractions had been so welcome. This time spent away from John had only reaffirmed her feelings for him were true. That they were deep and meaningful and could last a long time. When she had gotten back from Berlin, he had told her he loved her. Had looked her in the eyes and held her steady and said the three words that Cass thinks carried the most meaning the world. And he had fucking meant them.
She hadn’t said them back even though she felt it too. Never one to be held back by fear, she was in this instance. John could be taken from her at any moment and there was nothing she could do about it. In her line of work, lack of control got you killed.
----
Lemmons was teaching her how to properly oil the gears of the practice engine when the first plane was spotted on the horizon. Cass stood and watched them appear one by one through the lenses of her aviators and smiled before dropping her tools and running to the tower.
“Lieutenant Cooper.” Colonel Harding lowered his binoculars to give her a once over, clearly enjoying the sight of her in a jumpsuit rather than her usual uniform. She plucked the binoculars from his hand while he was distracted.
“My forearms are too tantalizing this afternoon, Colonel?” He smirked as she looked out the window, until she spotted John’s plan and smiled with glee.
“Cassandra, I have dinner tomorrow night with my British counterpart. He’s known to talk with the prodding of scotch and a beautiful woman.” She hummed in thought as the plane carrying the man she loved got closer and closer.
“I’ll think about it.” It wasn’t the first time Harding had invited her as his date to a fancy dinner with their partners. It gave her a chance to elicit information of value from them as she played dumb and sipped a glass of water. John had muttered under his breath about it previously but after the most recent change in their relationship, she doesn’t think he would be so subtle about it anymore.
“Best not keep Major Egan waiting.” He took the binoculars from her hand and watched her go with a sad smile on his face. If only he was younger.
She thinks she exercised the most patience she ever had in her entire life as she wanted for his plane to land and taxi to its final resting place. Her entire body was vibrating as she waited and waited for the hatch to open and almost groaned that he would of course be the last one to exit. And then he dropped out of the plane and the clouds parted so the sun could shine on John Clarence Egan and she was off across the airfield like a cannonball.
“C’mere my lovely, lovely angel.” He caught her as she jumped into his arms, her legs around his waist and arms around his neck in an instant. John went for a kiss but she stopped him with a finger to his lips.
“Any new scratches or bruises or wounds of any kind I need to know about?” She had already located one on the bridge of his nose and on his forehead.
“You can do a more thorough check when you take a shower with me later, how about that?” he whispered.
“Yeah, it does seem you need one.” John couldn’t wait to kiss her anymore. He groaned as she wasted no time slipping her tongue between his lips, gripping her tighter against his body. “I missed you. Thought about you every day,” she admitted. He let her legs drop onto the ground but her arms stayed exactly where they had been.
“The men almost mutinied against me for talking about you too much.” She giggled and John kissed her again. “Though it did make me look a little desperate in front of your brother.” Cass looked at him with wide eyes.
“You saw Bobby? Were you able to give him the box?” John nodded.
“You didn’t tell me he was that frightening.” He didn’t mention that his hand was shaking when he was giving him the box. The way the older man had looked at him like ham on a buffet table made him sweat. Gale had loved every minute of it.
“He’s just protective when it comes to boys in my life.” Especially after Sidney Landry.
“Gave me a stern speech about the kind of girl you are and how you deserve to be treated and that he knew what I looked like now so he could kill me if he needed to.”
“He’s doing okay? Seemed intact?” Cass hadn’t seen Bobby since he left for boot camp immediately after Pearl a few years ago. Remembers hugging him with tears that she may not see him again. That he was going somewhere far away where people hated him. He had told her he had to. That he needed to do something to protect his family. Told her he wouldn’t be surprised if she found a way to join him over there. She and her brother Kent followed not too soon after. God how she missed them both.
“Told me to tell you he misses you.” John had been honest with the man about his feelings for Cass. Didn’t know if he would ever get the chance to talk to her father and that Bobby would be the next best thing. Told him he loved her and wanted to be with her when this was all over. That Cass was it for him, he knew it as well as he knew how to fly. Bobby was hesitant at first but watched the way John looked when he spoke about her. Heard the men making jokes about the lovestruck Major. Bobby had even asked Major Cleven for his thoughts on the whole situation. Gale had raved about Cass and how good she was for John. That the two of them complemented each other like salt and pepper.
When John asked for Bobby’s blessing to one day marry Cass, he had given it.
----
That night, they were back where they could always be found. On a blanket in the field of wildflowers a few minutes drive from base. John’s hat and blazer were thrown somewhere in the distance and she was working on the knot of his tie as he hovered on top of her.
“You aren’t allowed to leave me for that long ever again,” she breathed as she threw the offensive fabric over his head and John’s hands moved the hem of her dress around her waist.
“Yes, ma’am.” Cass used his moment of weakness to change the balance of power, hooking her leg around his waist and pushing against his shoulder until his back hit the blanket and she was straddling him. “I like the way you think.” She had only unbuttoned the first few on her dress, John sitting up in a daze at the sight of white lace, kissing her skin as she exposed it to him. Then, over the hill, was the sound of screeching children and it was only getting closer.
“John-”
“Miss Cass! Miss Cass!” She pushed John down as they came running towards her. Her fingers barely locked the last button into place before they were swarmed.
“We didn’t see you today!”
“Sergeant Lemmons said Prince Bucky was back!”
“Is this him?” She went to move from her precarious position over John when his hands on her hips stopped her.
“Not yet,” he cautioned. No need to scar these children for life.
“Yes, this is…Prince Bucky.” She had told John, after he had coaxed her into the shower, about her time with Lemmons and the local kids. About the story of Prince Bucky and Princess Spook and the dragon. He had teased her about their happily ever after all afternoon. “He’s just been back from killing another dragon.” Her look begged him to play along.
“Indeed. A large…gray dragon.” The kids gasped.
“Was he trying to hurt Princess Spook?”
“I would do anything to rescue my Princess.” Cass couldn’t help herself, pulling him in for a kiss by his collar.
“Will you be getting married soon?”
“Oh, please, Miss Cass! You’d look so pretty in a princess dress.”
“Prince Bucky hasn’t asked, little ones.” For his part, John was looking at her like the first sight of land after being lost at sea.
“Will you marry me, Princess Spook?” The kids cheered but Cass was frozen. She knew it wasn’t real, he was placating them and she loved him for it, but hearing the words come from his mouth felt so right. He meant them.
“Yes.” And she meant her answer too.

Just angst and sad weather. Hope its good for my first BSD fic.
Tumblr media
A soft breeze filled with springs essence flowed gently into the quaint office placed atop the red bricked building. It wasn’t much to look at, not really, other than its red exterior taking the eyes attention for a split second, there wasn’t much else to it.
Unless one was aware of its top floored residence. Quite the loud bunch many would complain. Always someone shouting and screaming about tardiness, unsettling comments about severing limbs, and often other occupants would notice a trail of emptied snack bags leading to the office. Simply a place to stay away from.
Now that was what you called home.
The hums of the crowded streets played out in a symphony in front of you, just another side walk to cross and you were home. Home .. If the word stayed on your tongue for too long it might lose it meaning, or worse, become sour in taste.
That top floor, was home. It had only been maybe 8 months since you began working there as an assistant. The Armed Detective Agency, the name really says all there was to it. The work wasnt too difficult, after all, you were a hardworker and you’ve been working your whole life one way or another. The president had made some adjustiments to your workload considering you were still a high school student. Of course you adamantly expressed your capabilities, but underneath it all, you were relieved.
The breeze grazed your face and ruffled your hair, adding more knots into it after you had done so much to ensure it looked perfect, like nothing had happened. You sighed with a hint of ire plaguing not just your voice but your eyes. Perhaps holding your tongue could have granted you another hour or two of sleep. Alas, thinking of such what if’s was something you slowly learned to block out. It was pointless to fantisize of what could be anyhow.
You continued to fix your hair as you walked up the stairs, soon reaching the gates to your heaven with the oh so familiar sign positioned at the door. You hesitated briefly even as the sign urged you to come in just as the Earth welcomed rain. Thoughts began to overwhelm you. Mornings were never easy. You weren’t a sunflower waiting to greet the sun as the sun showers you with blessings and you return its gift with a smile. It was always terrifying. He was terrifying.
No matter what you did, no matter how hard you tried, you would never be enough to satisfy his will. At times, that thought alone shot bolts of desperation throughout your body, like an injured animal finding some way to stop the bleeding. What were you so desperate for? Home. It’s right in front of you, so why can’t you accept it now?
‘I didn’t get enough time to cover some of the bruises, what if they-’
“Ah you made it L/N-chan!”
You shot up slightly at the new sound that entered your bubble. Your gaze turned towards the young boy’s voice, noticing his ragged hair. ‘Always quite slanted, not a single strand the same,’ you mused. “Atsushi you startled me aha..” Although the chuckle may have been a bit strained, you were happy to know your voice wasn’t void of that hint of delight to see him.
“A-ah! Sorry! I guess I’ve been sneaking up on a lot of people lately. The other day it was Lucy, I made her drop her dish in the cafe- I really did apologize but she was very close to throwing me from a bridge aha-” Atsushi had a tendency of causing trouble from simple, and often innocent, actions. It was always amusing to hear about from him, they’ve never failed to crack you out of your reclusive state.
Atsushi’s eyes wandered briefly to a mismatched coloured blotch on your arm, one you tried to conceal under your sleeves. When you took notice of his gaze, you quickly shifted that arm out of view; watching his shy and gentle eyes become disturbed with remorse. That unconcealable wrapping on your leg wasn’t any better to look at you figured, and you were sorry he had to see it. It was only for a moment though. He seemed more at ease once you smiled back at him.
“If she did push you, I’d call Kyoka-chan.” You continued back at where the conversation left off at. At that Atsushi shaked his hands, trying to prevent the fictional scenario. “N-No! Kyoka might end up doing more than dragging me out of the water-” You both laughed at the scenario at the underlying understanding of Kyoka’s protectivness of Atsushi’s well being.
As you both walked into the office together, a scent of candies and coffee lingered in the air and the bustling office welcomed your arrival. Your eyes lingered on Atsushi as he made his way over to his desk to get started on what you could only assume to be another stack of Dazai’s unfinished paperwork. ‘I should go and get him some coffee, he might need it to finish all that.’ Looking at that stack was alone to make you wince and move towards your own desk.
You usually make your rounds to greet everyone, but today was a difficult day and you were more tired than usual. So you figured finishing your work early would be the best way to go about things. As you began, the usual shenanigans continued to buzz around the agency. Naomi chasing Tanizaki begging him to bother himself with her rather than his work, the murmurs of the president and his secretary disgusing financial documents in his office, Ranpo-san’s loud crunches as he muched on what could’ve been his 15th chip bag of the day, and to top it off, Kunikida’s excessive yelling. You may be a hardworker but in this case, you couldn’t hold a handle to Kunikida’s work ethic. He kept everyone on task, or so he tried.
While he was on his daily rant about Dazai’s tardiness to anyone who would listen, you felt a dreadful turmoil brewing in your head.
That buzzing in your head was a little more than unsettling. And just as your hand went to go reach your head, there it was again, that word.
“Home.”
Why was it coming to the forefront of your mind? Why couldn’t that thought be subdued? Why were you so unlucky that the only word that haunted you was the one you cherished just as much?
He. Your father. Just a shadow of what he could’ve- no, should’ve been. A shadow who gained sentience and refuses to let you breathe.
Your ‘home’ was hell personified. Every move you took would inevitably burn your feet. So you took no steps at all. Yet even then the fire raged on and clung to you.
And right now, that fire was engulfing your head.
You could faintly see Dr.Yosano in the distance, making her way to you. You couldn’t quite make out her expression when you dropped to floor and the fire took your eyesight.
~~~~~~~~~
Sometimes sleep was the only solace you could get, so you tried to cherish it whenever you could. This time, there was something different about the black void of unconsciousness. A dull pain.
It lingered and poked you in the void. Slowly voices became more clear, and feeling returned to your hands. Still, those wonderful eyes of yours refused to leave the dark.
A part of you couldn’t deny that you liked it that way, but that poking sensation wouldn’t let you dream.
You never had time for it.
So your eyes opened, breaking through the fire, and into the blinding lights of the ceiling panels.
~~~~~~~~
“You’re awake-!” There a pair of wide yellowish-purple eyes looked back at you, secured with a load of concern.
It was Atsushi, worried about you as always. You wished he’d worry about himself more.
It didn’t quite hit you that you were on Dr. Yosano’s lap or the fact there were tears in your eyes, slowly streaming down your eyes. Not until Kyouka, who sat next to Atsushi wiped them gently.
What happened to you?
Your body must’ve been more aware than your mind as it expressed it’s emotions more freely than how your mouth could vocalize them. Slowly you sat up and noticed exactly what had caused you to lose consciousness.
“What happened… y/n?”
Blood loss.
Dr. Yosano looked at the open wounds on your legs, carefully unwrapping the loosely tied bandages around them. She was inspecting the wound just as she was inspecting your face.
They all were looking at you. Kunikida with a glass of water held firmly in his hand. Kyouka who stayed quietly by Atsushi, looking at your wounds. Yosano who looked slightly unnerved at the blood yet continued to press on; cleaning the wound. Atsushi who looked at you as though he knew and didn’t at the same time. But he wanted to know, oh how he wanted you to tell him.
And suddenly, it was hard.
You were young. You couldn’t hold it back anymore.
The tears poured out and so did the words you held in for so long. You tried to hold it all in, but everyone has their limits. Atsushi held you closely as you cried into his arms. Kyouka followed and joined the hug.
She understood.
You may be older than her but she knew your pain just as well.
Yosano worked on your legs with utmost care and gentleness. She knew better than to ask to heal using her unorthodox methods. She’d rather not do that, even if it took away all the physical pain, it wouldn’t do anything for your mental anguish. So she helped in the ways she could.
Kunikida offered you that glass of water as you talked and cried. He stepped back for a moment, eyes still intently on you as you spoke with your shaky voice and teary eyes. Until he caught the sight of someone hidden in the corner of the agency.
Dazai.
His expression was unreadable as always yet there was a sense of conflict stiring in those lax eyes of his that Kunikida rarely saw. Just as Kunikida noticed him standing there in obscurity, he left through the agency’s doors. Kunikida knew to follow him in case Dazai had finally built a sense of justice and planned to do something rash.
~~~~~~~~
When the tears stopped, you sat there with your ragged yet quiet, breathing. Atsushi never once left your side. Kyouka still sat by you, unmoving. Kenji had returned a little while ago and brought you over some tissues and began reciting stories of his farm life adventures.
Ranpo finally appeared again. His whereabouts were always where his interests lied…. Or where the snacks were. Thus, it wouldn’t surprise you if he had been there the whole time, just hidden away.
With a lollipop still in his mouth, he looked down at you. You couldn’t read his eyes, you barely ever saw them when you think about it. Kenji, continued to talk while your attention shifted to Ranpo. He brought his arm forward, in his hand, a single lollipop. He motioned you to take it.
When it was in your hands, he was already gone back to whatever he was doing, yet you stared at it as though it were gold.
Home…. A place that’s warm.. A place you feel loved..
You were home. You were safe.
And so you smiled, it would be okay.
~~~~~~~~
Weeks had passed since then, your father was arrested on accounts of child abuse and neglect and you were free from his torment. That moment when Kunikida had left that day, he must’ve gone to seek out your father you supposed. Regardless, you were thankful to not just him, but the entire agency.
You were free, and you would be okay.
That ‘home’ meant nothing to you, so with Fukuzawa-san’s permission, you were allowed to move into the agency dorms. Again, nothing you could do would expression your gratefulness towards him.
Although old habits and traumas never die, you were healing. You had people who loved you and cared for you. People who would laugh with you as Kunikida and Dazai fought. People who would eat with you when you couldn’t sleep. And people who watched over you, even if silently.
You weren't alone, and most importantly, you were happy.

How (Not) to Summon a Demon: Chapter 6
Oh, oh, oh! I'm so excited for you guys to read this chapter. I'm not saying anything cause ooooh the plot thickens. Would you all be surprised if I said I didn't actually have an actual plot laid out until I started writing this chapter? 👀 Woops! Anyways, I hope you all enjoy!! Pairing: Alastor x fem!Reader Warning: slight mentions of m/r/d/r but like not really? blood, there's mentions of blood
"Veronica?"
Your voice echoes in the darkness, no response.
"Alastor?"
Nothing.
There is nothing around you; just a void as you stand in the center. You have no idea the direction you face, if you're up or down, but you don't feel afraid. You just feel utterly alone.
"You shouldn't be here."
Now you feel fear, gripping your throat tight. You can't breathe.
"Death has no use for you…yet."
Scream. You have to scream. You need to escape. You need to wake up.
Wait…
Wake up?
"Wake up!"
You bolt up in your bed, panting heavily. Your skin is cold and wet, your limbs trapped as you kick them free of the blanket. You frantically search around, looking for anything recognizable before your eyes capture a face. You snap to it, needing it as your mind hurries to decipher who it is.
"Veronica," you choke out, voice broken and laced with tears you didn't know where spilling. Her eyes are wide and it's now that you feel her hands cupping your cheeks, forcing you to look at her.
"Girlie, what happened? You were screaming something awful just a second ago," she says, but her words feel foreign. Everything feels so foreign and distant like you're not here. You shake your head slowly.
"I -," you try to say something, to explain what was wrong but even you don't know. You try to remember what happened, but it's fading from your memory. Why were you screaming? Why were you scared? Your heart was pounding in your chest as if you had just ran a marathon. You raise a hand to rub at your sternum. "Where's Alastor?"
You hear Veronica huff.  "Asleep, which is surprising considering how loud you were." Asleep. No, that was wrong. Your eyes search your bedroom, being drawn to a corner. You see a glimpse of red before it's gone.
"Right, I'm sorry," you apologize.
"No need. Just worried, is all," she says, bringing a hand to your back to rub soothing circles as she sits next to you. She had been knelt on the floor this whole time and you wonder how long it took to stir you awake. Everything felt fuzzy and the fear was still there, little remnants clinging to your skin. You felt sticky and gross now that you were aware of it.
"Do you remember what you were dreaming about?" Veronica asks softly.
"No." You gently shrug off her hand, moving to stand from your bed. "I-I'm ok, really. I think I'll take a shower, though."
"Good idea," she nods. "If you need me, though, you know where to find me." She gives you a reassuring smile and leaves. When your door is shut, you sigh.
"I know you're there. You can come out," you speak to the shadows in your room. Nothing happens for a second and you wonder if you were wrong, but then in the corner where you saw it, the shadows ripple.
Alastor steps out but the shadows stay on him, like a cloak. All you can see are his eyes, red orbs glowing from the depths. You turn fully to face him, arms wrapping around yourself. He doesn't move, but watches you closely. It should be unnerving but you're finding comfort in it. "Thought you were asleep," you try to say with a smile, but it barely shows. Alastor chuckles.
"As far as she knows, I am."
"This," you bite your lip, a bit embarrassed to ask but you need to know, "this wasn't your doing, was it?" Now the shadows move away from him and Alastor steps forward. Through his smile, you swear you see him frown.
"My dear, if I were the cause of that nightmare, you would not be awake right now," he states, bringing terrifying thoughts to mind. If it wasn't him, then it must've been… You hear a whimper and jump slightly before realizing it was your own. Alastor moves before you can see him and now he's in front of you, long arms wrapped around you to bring you closer. Your head hits his chest softly, warmth surrounding you. It's strange, not normal. A demon shouldn't be comforting you right now. A demon should be scaring you, attacking you, devouring your soul. A demon should not be…
"Shh, everything is alright now, darling. Just breathe," Alastor whispers, his voice so calm as sobs tear through your body. You don't know how or why, but you're crying and hard against Alastor as he holds you. You can feel it, though, years of built of emotions pouring from you. It's enough to make your knees weak, your body wanting to fall but Alastor holds you tight. You cling to him, your small hands creasing his coat.
Small. You felt so small against him, his large frame towering yours. He would be a wonderful protector, you think, guarding you from whatever horrors tried to come near you.
No.
He could save you from anything, you think, body relaxing against him. You shift your hands from his coat to his back, holding tightly. You could stay like this forever, in his protective embrace.
NO.
No. You can't. You shouldn't. Your human and he's a demon. This is wrong.
You start to pull back and Alastor relents, letting you go. You wipe the tears that start to dry on your cheeks, the reminder of your clammy skin getting to you. You really need that shower now.
"Sorry," you mumble to him, not wanting to meet his gaze as you walk over to your closet, pulling out spare pair of pajamas. You manage a glance his way as you stand at the door for a moment, wanting to say something else. You want to thank him but don't, shutting your door as you head to the bathroom.
You're grateful he has the decency not to follow you, but you find yourself locking the bathroom door anyways. It gave you a sense of security as you strip, dropping the damp clothes to the side. You sigh as you turn on the water, letting it warm up.
The nightmare, or the fear you felt when you woke, slowly comes back. You shiver and blame the cold air around your naked form, sticking your hand under the faucet. Stupid, you think to yourself. You haven't had a nightmare like that in years and, what's worse, you had clung to Alastor like he was a lifeline. A demon, you remind yourself. He's a demon, for God's sake, why weren't you more afraid?
You should be afraid.
Yeah. You should.
He is evil.
Yeah, he's…no. You rub at your face, confusion setting in. There's a fog in your mind, disorienting you.
He is evil.
Alastor comforted you, when he didn't have to. He was there, had been there the whole time, you realize. He was in the shadows, watching over you and when Veronica woke you up, he was there. He had held you, helped you calm down, let you cry into his chest. That wasn't evil.
Anger formed suddenly in your chest.
Demons are evil.
Demons were evil, you thought. Movies and books you've read reminded you of that. Hell, even the Bible states it as fact. They were evil creatures hellbent on destroying creation itself, to taint and disease the world. To tarnish the light and bring about sin and darkness. You couldn't trust such a creature.
Yet, Alastor… What was Alastor then?
Demon. Filth. Evil.
"No," you say out loud, shaking your head and forcing the thoughts away. Why were you thinking this way? God, maybe that nightmare got to you more than you thought.
Stretching your body, you checked the water again. Satisfied with the temperature, you step in and let the water wash away the stress in your muscles. You let out a heavy breath, humming as the heat relaxed you further. The beads rolling down your back to the tub below felt therapeutic as you enjoyed the shower, the nightmare washing down the drain.
By the time you finished your shower, it was four in the morning. You weren't going back to sleep any time soon so you decide to head to the kitchen. Your favorite mug is brought out as you turn on the coffee maker. Caffeine was calling you and you'd be a fool not to answer. As the hot liquid filled your core, you hum delighted and head towards the living room. Your caught off guard to see Alastor sitting there, greeting you.
"Um, hi," you say, awkwardness creeping in. Oh god, you had forgotten what transpired earlier, hoping he would've been in his room when you came out. Now you're having to face him. Better get it over with. "Thank you, by the way. F-For that." You gulp, nervously playing with your mug, fingers tracing the design etched into its side.
"No thanks needed, my dear," Alastor replied. His voice was lower than usual, no doubt being quiet with Veronica still asleep. You note to do the same.
"Still, that was," you trail off, sitting down beside him.
"Embarrassing? Uncomfortable? Awkward?" Alastor's smile never changed as he threw the words at you. You squint at him.
"Yes, ok? I'm not used to doing that in front of others," you mumble, leaning back into the couch, bringing your legs up. You grip your mug tightly, taking a sip.
"Doing what?"
Your squint turns into a glare. "You know."
"Afraid not, my dear." That smile is now a grin, you're sure of it. Is he doing this on purpose? You groan in frustration, voice coming out louder than intended.
"Crying, alright? I'm not used to crying like that in front of people. Makes me feel -"
"Weak?" Alastor interrupts you. You slowly nod, hating the way your eyes prick with tears. You won't cry again. You won't. "Everyone is weak sometimes." That was unexpected. You look up at him, watching his features soften just a bit. His arm comes to drape over the back of the couch and you remember the warmth you felt from them. Your cheeks grow hot.
"You don't seem weak," you say, focusing back in on your mug. Alastor chuckles and you swear you can feel it vibrate through you.
"Strengths and weaknesses are the main elements of our characters." Your eyes are drawn back to him as he continues, "While it's dumb to think you are fault free, it's also harmful to see yourself worthless."
"Alastor," you find yourself lost for words. "That was…beautiful." His smile tightens, strained even. He looks away, clearing his throat. His arm disappears from behind you and you feel cold again.
"Well, my dear. I suggest you try and get some rest. A tired mind can't think of a wish now, can it?" You frown.
"Right," you say, jaw tight. You stand from the couch, barking a good night to Alastor as you head into your bedroom. You fall to your bed, mug placed on your nightstand, the contents now cold and bitter. Just like how you felt. You're an idiot.
Such a stupid, stupid idiot…and so was your heart.
__
Alastor watched you leave to your room, your door slamming shut quite loudly. He's surprised your roommate doesn't poke out, curious to the noise. Your angry now and he's lost as to why. Mortals were complexing, their emotions running rampant it seems. One minute, you were laughing or smiling, the next you were crying and, now, you were mad. At him? He couldn't figure out why.
If anything, he thought he had calmed you down, brought you back to a sense of stability. He only did so because your tears were annoying him. Why did mortals cry so much? It never bothered him before, when he used to be alive. In fact, he never even cried once, save for when his mother passed. When his victims used to cry, beg for their lives, he found thrill in it. It made his body quiver with passion when those tears mixed with the blood that spilled from them. Yet when he saw your tears, those round eyes of yours filled with pain and fear, he couldn't even bear the smile stretching his lips. He wanted to kill whatever thing made you produce such a face.
That bothered him, greatly. He shouldn't be so affected by a mortal, by you. You were a deal, a contract. He just wanted your soul, nothing more.
Glancing towards your bedroom door, Alastor shifted into the shadows. There was no hesitation, no thought behind it as he appeared in the corner of your room. To his luck, you were fast asleep, on top of your covers. Even in sleep, you were mad, your brows bunched together with your lips pursed down. How amusing.
He steps closer, watching you closely. He took note of you, the way your hair fanned out behind you, spilling over the pillows. Your hands were near your face, fingers twitching slightly. You had one leg stretched out while the other was bent, knee tucked up, forcing you to lay half way on your stomach. You were twisted in such a way that he doubt was comfortable, but you didn't seem to mind. How curious.
When his knees bumped the bed, you stirred only slightly, breaking him from his trance. He let out breath he didn’t know he held as you relax, still asleep. His smile begins to hurt his cheeks. Who were you, to cause such unwanted responses in him? He should leave, let you rest, but he's stuck, unable to move. He should focus on the task at hand, get you to make your wish, but his eyes never leave your face. He should…he should…
He sits down gently onto your bed, next to you, a hand coming to move a strand of hair that found its way onto your cheek.
He should end this quickly, he thinks. There are things in hell waiting for him, things far more important than one human soul is worth.
An annoying sound pierces the air, bright light casting away the darkness that was around him. He retreats to the shadows, leaving you room as you reach for your phone on your nightstand.
He doesn't see the way your eyes widen as you read the notification.
'Time's up.'

₊ ⊹ the price of the name.
synopsis: reader has had a hard life, and now she’s an orphan. but someone just as lonely comes into her life to take her under his wing.
warnings: death. suicidal thoughts. grief. angst. miguel being a hardass. cursing/adult language.
notes: ok, here we go. the last part. star girl kisses hobie on the cheek, and they have some romantic implications. HOWEVER. i did not write them to be romantic. i just see hobie as a very physically affectionate person (especially since i’m this way.)

cursed daughter,
uttering insanities no one believes,
do you regret taking the vow?
“you die.”
it felt like the ground was dropping out from under you, like the void had somehow traveled from your dead universe to this one to drag you down where you belonged.
in the grave. in the ground. gone.
you were staring at lyla. or maybe you weren’t. her orange form blended and swirled as tears overflowed your eyes and dripped down your cheeks. all the fight, the rage, the energy, was gone. snuffed like a candle flame.
just like you should be right now.
“i was supposed to die.” you whispered, more to yourself than miguel or lyla. “but i was somewhere else.”
anger lit in your chest fast, ignited by the frustration that had grown for months in your mind, words yelled at mirrors and whispered to the ceiling.
you turned to miguel, still on the ground as you raised your voice.
“i was somewhere else because of your sorry ass beating a mother fucking teenager to death! because i had to protect a child! from you!” you stepped up, rising slowly even as your knees shook. “if i hadn’t been worried about miles or you or your determination to keep the canon intact, then it would have been fine! i would have died, and everyone in my universe would have been okay!”
deflect, ignore the problem, fight, rage, scream.
you hated how similar you were to miguel.
you hated him.
he stood still as a statue, watching you with a defeated expression as you self destructed.
“y/n…” he tried, voice the softest you had ever heard it.
and you broke.
your knees buckled, but he was there in an instant, hands looping under your arms so that you didn’t fall. he pulled you into him, even as your fists beat against his chest.
“i hate you so fucking much. i hate how you make me feel and i hate what you did and i hate you-“ you sobbed, trying and failing to grapple with the weight of what had happened.
and through it all he just held you, tucking your head under his chin.
“i know, mija.” he whispered, his hand resting against the back of your neck to pull you against him.
“if you hadn’t been an asshole and chased a kid then it would have been alright. all those people would be alive and-“
“and you’d be dead.” he finished, his arm around you tightening slightly. “and i think we both know i wouldn’t let that happen.”
you felt repulsed, like his hands were burning, a betrayal to a boy beaten by the same palms. but you were also desperate, clinging to a life you lived for nine months only to be stripped from it completely. you wanted this contact, craved this hug.
your mind cried TRAITOR and your heart cried HOME. it was a contradiction that made you ache, a reminder of what was gone and would never return.
your hands clenched the material of miguel’s suit tight, bunching it as you wheezed. you felt so small, and yet so large. grief scratched at you with newly sharper claws, and guilt followed at its heels.
miguel’s hold tightened.
your mind switched to analytical thinking, trying to procure a solution, to fix what you had broken.
the answer came clearly, emerging from the darkest spot of your mind like a banished creature.
“you need to kill me.”
miguel pulled back just enough to look down at you, his hands moving to your upper arms to grip you in an unyielding hold. his eyes filled with a solemn determination that made you want to sob, made you want to scream.
“it won’t bring them back.” he whispered, resting his forehead against yours. “nothing you or i or lyla or anyone does will bring them back.”
the void at your toes, ready to swarm. an ocean of black silence, waiting to drown you.
“there has to be a way, miguel. please. if my universe collapsed because i didn’t die, then maybe if i died it would come ba-“
“do you think i didn’t try that when gabriella’s universe disappeared?” he asked, voice firm but expression soft. “i tried for weeks, never truly sleeping. i went through data and experimentation just for a chance to reassemble a universe. it doesn’t matter.”
your chest tightened, your breath limited as you tried to force a rhythm.
in, hold, out.
all those children.
in, hold, out.
mothers and fathers.
in, hold, out.
AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT.
miguel pulled you into him, wrapping his arms around you.
the thoughts muted, the world dark and warm as you pressed your face to his chest. his arms, keeping you safe from the outside.
the tears didn’t stop for a long time, and neither did your choked cries. but it didn’t matter to him. it didn’t matter that there was a wet patch in his suit that most definitely included snot as well as tears.
he guided you through breathing, moving his hand in rhythmic circles on the upper plane of your back as he whispered “in, and out” over and over until your heartbeat calmed.
miguel knew that this was just the beginning. there would be late nights and frustrated yelling and breakdowns for a long time. it would take months to heal, months to work this guilt out of you.
but he’d be there every step of the way.
he refused to leave you again.
“you’re a hypocrite.” you whispered, and again he pulled back to look at you.
your eyes were set in firm decisiveness, as though you’d been thinking about this for some time. his gut twisted and his frustration flared slightly, but his inclined his head to let your speak.
you took a breath. “you’d save me for the sake of your own benefit. you care for me- i make you less lonely.” she held up her hand when his mouth opened, and his words died on his tongue. “you’d let my entire universe die just to have me.”
your voice faltered as tears balled in your throat, but you swallowed and carried on. miguel needed to hear this, and you were pretty sure you were the only person he’d hear it from.
“that’s selfish. incredibly so. but.” she trailed off, piecing the words together and preparing for his rebuttal. “when miles wants to save his father, it’s a cardinal sin.”
“y/n, it’s diff-“
“no, it’s not.” you cut him off, and again his mouth shut. he had forgotten just how quick your words were, no doubt sharpened by your temporary grounding.
“you’re sympathetic to me, but you slam a boy, a boy, miguel, into a train because he wants to save his father. meanwhile, you’d save your daughter without so much as a second thought? that’s hypocrisy.”
his eyes widened slightly, but he didn’t interrupt.
“all i ask is that you give him the same grace. can’t you understand why he refuses to follow your orders?
miguel sighed, keeping his eyes on you.
“miles is an anomaly, he’s was never meant to be spider-man-“
“enough of that. that has nothing to with the canon event. the universe didn’t collapse when he was bitten. it’s not his fault.”
“he is the beginning of this, the reason why there even is a spider society.”
your eyes narrowed, anger rising as you remembered the broken boy with bandages on his chest. “so you’re going to traumatize him? as punishment? he doesn’t deserve this blame, and you should never have reinforced it into his head. he’s fifteen, miguel. fifteen and scared. and now his head is full of your rhetoric, full of this hate that he doesn’t deserve. it’s not fair.”
you paused, and miguel worked his jaw, speechless.
“there must be another way. the canon has been flexible before. we can’t bring my universe back, but maybe we can save his. without making him watch his father die.” a tear slipped from your eye as you shoved down your sadness, forcing yourself to move on in order to help miles.
miguel’s thumb caught the tear before it fell, and you leaned into his palm.
“i think you need to sit this one out.” he whispered, eyes full of concern as your own blinked open. “i made the mistake of training you too early after your mother died, i won’t make the same mistake by allowing you to rush into this while you’re falling apart.”
you watched him, processing his words.
he was right, of course. it wasn’t healthy to push grief aside for later, especially this kind. the kind that poked at your throat and dug into your stomach. but the clock was ticking. a little less than two days.
you wanted nothing more than to curl up into a bed and cry. but you didn’t have time.
“i need to do this. and i need you to be there with me when i do, at my side. not against me. and after we figure this out, i’ll go to therapy and we can eat ice cream or whatever shit people normally do when they’re sad. ok?” you said.
this was the price of the name. sacrifice. pain. suffering. all for the greater good of the people.
miguel’s thumb stroked across your cheekbone as his jaw feathered.
“please. let me finish this.” you whispered.
miguel’s decision appeared in his eyes before it came out of his mouth.
“is this our tradition now?” he asked, and your face broke into a watery smile.
“fucking shit up despite our metal health? i guess so.” you laughed as you rubbed the heel of your hand against your eye, rubbing tears from your face.
“lyla?” you called, and she appeared at your shoulder. “can you help me reach hobie?”
lyla nodded, but miguel’s eyes hardened. “what do we need him for?” he asked, already sounding exasperated.
you smiled. “if you want to really fuck the system, you call the anarchist.” you said as you tapped at your watch.
i need some help defying the canon. you in?
it only took a few seconds for a reply.
let’s raise hell. meet you at my place in an hour.
i have miguel. but he’s leashed.
miguel looked over your shoulder, scoffing at the message.
“leashed?” he asked, and you smiled wickedly.
“you will be if you don’t listen. i’m not above webbing you to a wall and taking Rapture away from you.” you patted his shoulder. “just behave.”
you opened a portal when a thought rose suddenly.
“do you have any causal clothes?” you asked over your shoulder, and miguel raised a brow at you.
“for what?”
you grinned. “hard to be incognito in a spider suit. we need to blend in where we’re going.”
he smirked. “and what about you? think no one’s gonna stare at that suit just as much as mine?”
your teeth flashed as your grin widened. “i have clothes at hobie’s place.”
miguel’s amused expression dropped, and the glint in his eye told you that you may have to stand in front of hobie when he came back.
when he returned with clothes, grumpy as ever, you turned to the portal and jumped in, miguel at your heels.
₊ ⊹
“i cant fold it right, mine keeps bursting open.” you sighed, showing miguel the embarrassment of an empanada in your hands.
he shook his head at you, having already made a pile of at least ten. “it’s too much filling. you’re smart: use deductive reasoning.”
you elbowed him in the side, and he pretended to be wounded, letting out a fake gasp of pain.
you had both gone to the grocery store as soon as you entered earth-138, grabbing the necessary ingredients for a meal for the kids.
you had resolved that, if miguel couldn’t fully verbally apologize yet, then he could at least make them dinner.
and miguel had dragged his feet, refusing to give his input as you walked the aisles of produce and food. but when you fixed him with a glare and a sharp word, he had straightened up, explaining what exactly you needed.
and that brought you here, assembling empanadas with salsa verde and mexican rice on the counter of hobie’s house boat.
the group was late, though hobie had messaged you telling you that it was because they were talking miles into actually going in. the boy was terrified, but hobie and gwen were assuring him that everything was fine.
miguel placed the empanadas in the oven as the door to the boat clicked open and the spider band stepped though.
thank god it was spacious, you thought as the filed in.
you stepped forward to hobie, who embraced you with an arm around your waist and his mouth to your ear.
“one word and he’s a dead man.” he murmured to you as his eyes stayed fixed on miguel over your shoulder.
you garnered that miguel was staring back based on the tingling feeling of your skin.
“i got it. but noted.” you replied, pressing a kiss to his cheek as you pulled back.
his hands found your shoulders, leaning down to level a look at you. “you good?” he asked earnestly, his eyes concerned.
your smile was small, but it was a start.
“i’m good. better now.” you whispered, and he squeezed your shoulders.
he moved to the side, and your eyes caught miles’s, who stood with his arms limply at his side in a corner of the room.
you walked over to him, and his jaw clenched.
“i’m so sorry.” he whispered, and your heart ached.
“its not your fault. fate is a bitch sometimes.” you said as you slung an arm around his shoulders and pulled him close. his arms wrapped around your back gratefully.
you reached a hand to gwen and pavitr, and they joined the hug.
“my baby spiders.” you cooed. “i missed you.”
you pulled away to look around at the others, nodding to noir and peter b and fist bumping peni.
you met miguel’s eyes, and he nodded.
deep breath. it’s not like this is the end of the word or anything.
“we have less than two days to find a solution to save miles dad. the cannon is temperamental, but it is flexible. there must be a way other than jefferson’s death that can prevent earth-1610 from collapsing. any ideas?”
you gazed around the room to blank stares and thoughtful expressions. silence pressed against your ears as no one replied.
“my dad stepped down.” came a hesitant voice.
you turned to find gwen staring at you with a hopeful expression.
“he stepped down from being captain.” she said again. she looked to the side at miles. “after he found out my identity.”
something like hope grew in your chest as you glanced again at miguel. he looked back with a soft expression, tilting his head at you.
“he’ll never step down.” miles sighed, his fingers finding his temple.
“but it shows that there’s wiggle room.” you said, and miles’s eyes peeked at you.
“nothing is black and white. it’s not simple, but it’s a start.” you said as you walked over to the oven, getting out the empanadas.
“brain food?” asked peter b, and you smiled.
miguel stood beside you, preparing plates.
“not bad, y/n.” he said, and you leaned your side against his for a moment.
“where there’s a will, there’s a way.” you said, passing out plates before taking a seat next to hobie on the floor.
you looked around at the group, a smile rising on your face.
“spot’s on the move in 1610.” announced lyla, and hobie turned to you.
“okay, star girl. what’s the plan?”

oh my goodness. thank you all so much for your love and kind words. this is my first finished series, and it’s crazy to think that it all started with a thought of
“what if miguel had a daughter who’s universe collapsed?”
and it’s become a series with followers and people who love it. i’m so incredibly thankful for both your love and your patience- i went through a very hard friendship breakup that kind of ruined my spirit for a while. hence why this took so long.
i know there will be some of you who are not satisfied with this ending. i myself am never truly honestly satisfied with what i write. but i wanted to get this out into the world. BUT. my asks are always open for questions, requests, and headcanons for this story. it’s very dear to my heart, and i’m just so amazed at you all.
my little stars, i hope you enjoyed ‘the price of the name’.
all my love,
pearl ♡

Screaming into a void time (another long one, sorry)...
Ok, I have tolerated these shenanigans with the Boston bonehead and his merry band of clout chasers and liars, watching his soul decay while everyone (including me) debated whether he was married or not, how many ceremonies they had, how they traveled and where they lived (and was it even their ugly-ass house in MA or NY) but I have to lay down some cold hard truths for our anxiety riddled pothead.
Your decisions, forced or not, have led you to this horrid point. Your only choices may have been between a turd sandwich and a giant douche (thanks, South Park) but you made that choice. And something tells me you didn't just come to this point out of nowhere. There were probably a string of missed lessons along the way that painted you into such a corner.
I know you may be fragile right now but you need to hear this as I suspect you are not hearing it from your loser friends or listening to the ones who do have your best interest at heart.
You are teetering on the ragged edge, my friend. I just saw the first trailer for Pain Hustlers and I can see why they released it only a week and a half before it is in the theaters- because Netflix wants to bury it. Another in a long line of duds your team should have been adept at steering you clear from. You better hope the strike last long enough to where Red One has to be postponed until next year, otherwise you will pull off the hat trick of working your ass off on three movies that have showcased how little anyone cares (you or the audience). I could be wrong about Red One, but this was filmed during your fugue state where the real Chris disappeared and was replaced with a stoned automaton who had no problem selling out everything he believed in. Not conducive to the best creative energy.
Well, buddy, it is time to wake up. You are aware of what is going on in the world, right? You used to have a website that cared about this stuff. Too bad you couldn't use this time off from the strike to pour into that instead of pretending to get married to a woman you refuse to touch or even sit near, breadcrumming two weddings by leveraging the poor boundaries you have established with your family and friends and giving the worst interview to GQ, making you look like a tone deaf, moronic, pretentious asshole.
You need to separate yourself from these racist, anti-semites NOW. While some outside the fandom are starting to notice, it will catch on like a house on fire if you aren't careful. Remember how easy it was for the fandom to find out all this shit about them last year? And now look at what is going on outside. Hamas is a terrorist organization who wants nothing more than to have Jews exterminated from the planet. And here in the US, we have someone vying to be Speaker of the House (second in line for the Presidency) who describes himself as "David Duke without the baggage"; you remember David Duke, right? You used to stand up to him before you were made to look like a fucking joke).
There is no such thing as a little bit racist, or a little bit antisemetic, and for all intents and purposes, you married one, with all her "baggage". Certificate or no certificate; pictures or no pictures. This isn't one of those things that you can claim plausible deniability. You are in it. And if you think your privlege can save you, maybe it can, but I doubt it. It may not have happened yet, but the Sword of Damocles is hanging just above your head.
It comes down to the difference between intent and impact. No one really believes this has been your intent, but that matters little to those impacted by your actions. I know you have "cyclical unhappiness" when you think about the small stuff too much, but too bad. There is no way to take yourself out of the equation. You are not a used car lot balloon, who frantically moves every which way until the air is let out and deflates into nothing. You are a grown human being and like all of us, have a responsibility to understand your place in the universe. Otherwise, you are just stepping over bodies with such carelessness- the teacher in Portugal who only thought she was supporting a charity, your friends trying to promote one of your crappy movies, only to have it derailed by your drama backstage, fans getting harassed and even receiving death threats for speaking the truth we see with our own eyes. You may not be doing these things with your own hands, but that does not absolve your responsibility.
As I said before, this is your time to wake up. Coming clean with pure heart and honesty is the only solution at this point. If you wait too long or dig your heals in, like we have seen before, it will be too late. Do you think Jinx will want to partner with an antisemite loving dog dad? What studio will hire you, even for your one movie a year? Based on your crappy decision making skills, I have a feeling any pottery you sell will be break even with the amount of pot you smoke. So invest wisely and I hope your accountants are more trustworthy than the rest of the people you have surrounded yourself with.
Now, I am actually a very kind person who for some reason is still rooting for you. I still think there is a good person buried deep in there. These are rare and may be why I can't give up just yet.
You have the con this weekend. I know you can't promote Captain America, but think back to what he stood for. You even referenced him and how you aimed to be more like him in that god forsaken GQ video. So do it, you dummy! You will feel much better when your soul is unburdened. Then follow the advise I and many others have given before:
Get a good therapist and do the work
Decide if you really want to act or not; if so, take some classes to shake the cobwebs off; If not, are you going to be ok giving up the perks?
Don't use weed as a crutch
Establish clear boundaries with family and friends
Remove relationships (personal and professional) that are no longer serving you or even doing you harm
Listen to what your head and the universe is telling you
Do not get into a relationship until you have an idea of who you are and at least get to the "like" stage
To quote Florence and the Machine (Wish That You Were Here):
And now I'm reaching out with every note I sing And I hope it gets to you on some pacific wind Wraps itself around you and whispers in your ear Tells you that I miss you and I wish that you were here

TPOT 10 spoilers 'cause BH makes me insane
Tumblr media
I mean, c'mon. You can't see this thumbnail and think things are gonna be ok for you mentally if you like blackhole. Like you know what's coming to you.
First things first, let me just scream into the void for a second-
HIS NIGHTMARE IS KILLING PEOPLE AND LETTING THAT CONSUME HIM?????!!?!?
AAAAAAAAAGUH MY HEART??!!???!?
Man- I love Blackhole and this episode just drove the stake into my heart. The fact that he, himself, is a being who causes death by getting too close to people made me writhe in BFB. But actively showing the extent of how it affects him—ack! He knows he causes death, which is why it's so important for him not to kill people, and why he's so strict about the pact rules!!
It makes so much sense... BFB 1 had it all laid out, and TPOT 10 sewed it together.
From the way he was hesitant about helping Flower!!! We know- he knows he's gonna end the world by getting closer, but he gives into it anyway. Instead of putting his foot down to Flower, he gives in to his feeling of wanting to be closer to people—from the way he's so happy about being shrunk—and more later. Then we get that whole thing with everyone about to die.
We know if Four never came, everyone would've died. Blackhole knows that too, from the end of his nightmare. More specific to this clip though, from the scene with Pie and LIY, since he literally just gave in to the urge to get closer and he wants that to never happen again. As a singularity in space, he could appreciate the planet, and life on it, more than other objects. He could see them all interact but never actually interact with them (besides talking), so at this chance of being beckoned, it makes sense that he'd just go "eh, fuck it, alright" then IMMEDIATELY regret his actions. Although his nightmare was about being afraid he'll "give into murderous urges", it can also be interpreted as him being afraid to let go. Something clearly stated in the last scene of his nightmare...
Queue TPOT 10 scene from clip above (I'm so mad that it's only 1 video per post on here)
Over the season we've seen him go from preventing death to just not killing people. It's morphed into his own cut-throat rule for the pact, which, in this context, is fair to see why. He joined the game via him not caring about the consequences, and it's stuck with him, so seeing everyone over and over get away with things made him HAVE to re-enforce to himself that he wasn't allowed. Death PACT doesn't kill people. HE doesn't kill people. He can't allow himself to let go of that regiment.
Obviously, this causes problems in the team- we see the clip. The thing that gets me the most is that this is bona fide trauma we're working with—Fanny telling him to #get-over-it kinda rubbed me the wrong way. And OK! I know- I know that's not exactly what she's saying but that's how it felt, and I know she has every right to be upset 'cause he was fuckin' over his team, but again that's just me! (The fact they got on the same page was enough for me anyway.) I digress, his "obsessive nature" was essentially just a response to everything that's happened to him—it's what makes him feel in control of himself. Poor BH's got trauma bad :(
I think what really twists that knife for me is that... the guy really just wants to connect with his peers normally- He wants everything to go back to normal, and that's one of the reasons he compromises with Fanny. On some level, he knows he's gone too far, but he's just afraid. Even at the end, he can't bring himself to kill Tree, even though he knows it'd be better with the new "focusing on life" angle. Did you hear that shakey exhale? Man's going through the wringer. Obviously, he won't overcome his trauma in an episode, but it's a good step to just playing and enjoying the game.
Anyway... There is probably a shitton of fans that are looking at this like "Yeah no shit Sherlock" but hey! Be nice. Some of us are slower than the others, and by some of us, I mean me. I needed this punch in the face to really see how death was impacting Blackhole's mental state and now I've word vomited my thoughts out.

Ok I'll bite; in the Radi Vessel AU, what would Hollow's relationship with Ghost be? Would they be hostile toward them, welcoming as long as they don't try and stop them, or protective toward them to try and make up for the past? Heck, I could even see in that case Radi!Hollow trying to keep Ghost at their side at all times and learning to gaslight them into staying with them?
OK SO It took me a bit to answer this because to me the relationship between Ghost and Hollow is very unusual, especially bc of personal Headcanons I have about them
To me Ghost and Hollow were somewhat closer the moment both of them hatched in the Abyss, maybe not 100% attached to each other, but they still did care about the other, up until Hollow was picked by PK and they just decided to go with him, not thinking too much about their decision at that moment bc, well, you cannot expect a kid to take good decisions HAKDHAJD
I don't think Ghost felt betrayed? Just very confused as to why their sibling isn't there anymore? and lonely because there was barely any living vessel down there and the ones that lived didn't want anything to do with them (kinda like when u take a puppy from their litter and it misses their presence)
After they escaped the Abyss and went out of Hallownest, Ghost would eventually forget about Hollow (because bugs that leave Hallownest lose their memories), in the other hand though, Hollow does remember Ghost, and as they grew older they would always wonder happened to them (They were definitely dead, right? Just like the rest of their siblings down there, right?) But as the Hollow Knight they forbid themselves to think too much about it and then as the Radiance Vessel there was no point on wondering, even if they left the Abyss to exist, they could no longer go there, for their light was dangerous to the void and vice versa, if they were dead finding their mask was hopeless, if they were alive they would def try and attack them or hide from them
In the game Ghost comes back to Hallownest bc of Hollow no longer being able to hold on the Radiance, their scream (or rather Radi's scream, though I'd like to think part of the call came from them as well, even if they don't really have a voice?? It's weird ahskshdjd bc to me rather than following the call of the Radiance it was the vessels trying to find the sibling that called bc they're in lot of pain) calling the vessels towards them, if we go by this au, it would be because Ghost would accidentally stumble back into Hallownest, no call to answer, just coming to a kingdom that is far too eerie
At this point I am not sure how they reach their meeting, but I know it's not gonna be a pleasant one. It would take time for Hollow to recognize Ghost, but by the time they do they wouldn't just accept them with open arms, mostly bc I think at this point Ghost tried to pull an Ultrakill in the kingdom AJDJAKFBSKJG so it's a bunch of mixed feelings
But when the anger of their reunion dies down I think the guilt Hollow felt back then would crawl back, the thoughts they stopped from forming many times finally appear and the grief they were trying to ignore comes in waves, bc hey, the sibling they missed was alive all along! But they don't seem to remember them at all and is 100% down to throw fists
So, to summarize: First there's hostility, then guilt and sadness, then annoyance at Ghost's attempts to fight Hollow but also protectiveness because despite everything, Hollow wants to give Ghost the life Hollow wish they could've had (plus if somehow they make Ghost not wanting to attack anything Radi related then maybe they can use that as a case so Radi can let Hollow search for any other sibling that may stay still alive)
All of that could happen if Hornet does not intercede Ghost before they go bonkers in Hallownest HAKDHSJD
Hopefully this answered ur question! If u got any more or any ideas you'd like to share I'm open to hear them :3

Regret
They've been in Wildemount six days and Imogen casts sending every night before bed.  It hasn't worked yet, but still she tries.  She steels herself for the static as she weaves the spell and murmurs her message into the void.
"Laudna?  Can you hear me?  Tell me you're alright.  I need you to be alright.  Please.  I'm sorry, Laudna.  I–"  The screeching feedback interrupts, washing out her words and cutting her off.  A spike of pain shoots between her eyes, making her falter.
Imogen lets out a grunt of frustration, flings her pillow against the wall, and when it drops to the ground with a most unsatisfying sound, she invokes her power.  She pulls it from the ground with telekinesis, rips the pillow apart in the air.  As down flutters around the room, Imogen thinks of screaming, but then she remembers that Laudna isn't around to mend her messes, and she instead falls back to the bed with a sob.
There's a soft knock at her door.  "Are you ok?"  It's Fearne.
Imogen tries to steady herself and her voice.  "Yeah, I'm fine."
"Can I come in?"  Fearne is not convinced.
Imogen opens the door and looks around sheepishly.  There are still small bits of dust and feathers drifting around the room.  She realizes then, that she's not wearing her gloves, and her markings are clearly visible.  Self-conscious, she rubs her exposed forearms where the "Whitestone is for lovers" shirt doesn't cover.
Fearne steps in and glances about.  Her voice is soft and gentle.  "Do you want a hug?"
Imogen nods without looking up.
Warmth engulfs her as Fearne reaches out.  "It's ok if you miss her." Fearne smells like the outdoors, like wilderness and animals.  It reminds Imogen of Flora, and Gelvaan, and those mornings spent in the woods with Laudna, back before it felt like the world was ending.  Or maybe it did feel like the world was ending then, but for entirely different reasons, and they hadn’t known it actually was ending.
"It's…" Imogen rubs at her own neck,"it's just that I promised myself we wouldn't be apart again."
"None of this is your fault."
"But I promised her I wouldn't ever leave." Imogen thinks she might cry, and she hates herself for it.  All this power at her fingertips, and she still feels useless.  Calm emotions beckons at her, but that sounds too much like avoiding the question.  That sounds too much like cheating.  Because maybe Imogen believes she needs this pain, that she deserves this punishment.  Imogen was supposed to save the world, even if she never asked for it. Imogen was supposed to save the world so that Laudna would have time to hear all the things Imogen still had to say to her.
"We got sent away, maybe they did too.  We'll find them."
"But what if we're too late?  What if something happened, and Laudna needs us, and we're not there.  You heard what Deanna said.”  Imogen’s voice drops to a whisper.  “What if Laudna needs me?"  And she isn’t sure if the whisper is to keep the thought from Fearne or herself.  Because the next thought stays inside her own head, not daring to be spoken or broadcast.  What if I need Laudna?  See, Imogen remembers the last time Laudna was beyond the reach of her magic and what that meant.
The arms around her tighten.  “Laudna is stronger than she looks.  Orym and Ashton are too.”
Imogen sighs, nods her head.  She knows it’s true.  Laudna is the strongest person she’s ever met.
“Do you want a cookie?”  Fearne asks all of a sudden.  “FCG made them.”  And she rummages through her pouch to pull out a lone cookie.  “It’s not warm anymore, but it’s still pretty good.”
Imogen takes the treat because accepting seems easier than refusing, and eating is easier than talking.  She’s not really hungry but she bites into it anyway.
It’s a gingersnap, of course.   It’s crispy on the outside, and a little soft in the center.  Just like Imogen. Or Laudna. The surface is sweet, dusted with sugar, but there’s depths of spice hidden underneath.  And in the finish, the slightest tang of citrus.  Esteross’ recipe.  Laudna’s favorite.
The rest of the cookie is devoured.  And to Imogen, it tastes just like regret.

Ok, now I wanna ask about the other teachers’ becoming Yuu’s parent (totally not because I simp for Crewel and want to see him as a dad)
Also, if I may, can I be 💜🔥 anon?
NRC Staff: Parenting Yuu
So I kinda got carried away on Sam's. This got very long. I recommend reading Crowleys part first but this is kinda the same idea that you fall out of the sky. Also welcome 💜🔥
The day you arrived in this world, you were but a child, visiting the realm of sleep. Your bed was comfortable and soft like a cloud when you had a peculiar dream. You were falling. Falling through the clouds and stars of the night sky you wearily opened your eyes.
The night sky was tainted with an awful crack opening up and spreading. The moon was blocked out as the void opened up further, red energy flowing out. Out of the rift same what appeared to be shooting stars, all flying across the sky.
Your body was too tired to think, to move even. you shrugged it off as a bad dream. Like the shooting stars you saw before, your body seemed to glow just like them as you fell. You should scream- shout even, yet you were paralyzed as you watched yourself fall.
Your eyelids become heavy as you hit the ground with a crack, causing a small crater to be formed. You weren't hurt at all surprisingly, as you looked up into the sky at all the other stars falling down. It was when the very last star fell did the crack upon the night sky seal itself shut. Only then did you fall asleep, too exhausted to even move
When you woke up, you were met with a figure looming over you.
Divus Crewel
When he stumbled along a sleeping and rather dirty child in a crater after witnessing the odd meteor shower last night, he was understandably concerned and cautious. He immediately did what any adult would and took you to the police first. When he learned that last night's cosmic event had several children just like you falling out of the sky and into a new realm with no one else, he was even more confused.
It made no sense to him! Just how does a random child from another dimension fall out of the sky? What about their actual parents? They must be worried sick.
With how things were at the time, Crewel was asked if he was able to temporarily house the child until they are done investigating so they do not overwhelm the system with a bunch of homeless kids. Crewel was a bit annoyed at first- some help they were, but he wasn't just going to leave a child all on their own.
It was there where he drew a bath for your filthy self, muttering curses about his now dirty gloves as he stripped you of clothing and dunked you in the tub. All you remember was the aromatic smells of high-end body wash and the aggressive scrubbing of your skin and brushing of your hair before you're pulled out and wrapped in a towel. The clothes you were in before are now in the wash.
Crewel never thought he was meant for kids. They were messy and annoying and gross. He honestly was looking forward to the day he can finally boot you out to someone that could actually look after you. Or so he thought.
As the days went on with the investigation he got to know you better. You sat on his lap as he goes through some paperwork, mess-free markers in your stubby hands as you scribble on your page. Your babbling grabs his attention as he glances over at your page. It was a crude drawing of you and him smiling and holding hands. His heart melted at the sight.
Before he knew it he was attached. He couldn't bear to give you away. Next thing he knew he was a foster parent for an alien baby.
Crewel was a strict but loving dad. He pushes you to do your best but never to an unhealthy degree. Definitely, a self-care dad that will cut you up some lil slices of fruit as you study. He also oddly acts as your best friend at times when you both gossip about certain students. It's kinda funny.
He's definitely a wine dad and very supportive and trusting. He very much respects your privacy and your space so you feel like you can open up to him about anything. You're gay? So is he. You're trans? Well, we better get shopping for the latest and trendiest clothing.
Speaking of which. You are taught both fashion and manners at a very young age. No kid of his is gonna not gonna know how to dress (especially if they were closeted, you didnt spend ur time in there to not know how to dress). As a potionology professor, you are also taught everything he knows.
You were (most likely) magicless which makes you vulnerable. So he's gonna teach you all he knows about potions so you can protect yourself in the future. Even as a kid you were taught all kinds of different formulas. Crewel would even make his own medicine for you when you got sick.
How you got into NRC? It's unknown. Maybe you applied and somehow got in because of your potion skills. Maybe you fell asleep in your room and somehow got kidnapped and put into a black carriage as you slept. This led to a very surprised wine dad who was wondering what the hell you were doing here and was on his way to go and lecture (your other father) Crowley.
You're a Prefect now so cool? Crewel is not impressed at the state of the dorm, or that awful influence called Grim that tried to burn the place down on your first day. But he will say he's proud that you are a Prefect of your own rather small dorm. Maybe NRC will soon accept other talented yet magicless students like yourself?
In NRC you are one of the few students he doesn't refer to as whelp because you are his lovely child. Some students try to get close to you cause of this, but thankfully your dad taught you the art of sass and self-defense.
Overall he's an amazing dad that will always have your best interest in mind and WILL drop kick a student that tries to harass you. You have an easier time handing overblots with him lecturing Crowley on not leaving a STUDENT to the headmages work.
Bonus: he definitely will threaten to "return you to the sky where you came from" if you've been bad. Also, you get a lot of DILF comments and it makes you want to die.
Mozus Trein
Oh boy… At least he's very experienced with kids. It was actually his daughters who found you. For the sake of making things simple, we will call them Ana and Drizel, considering he's based on Cinderella's stepmother. His wife shall be Lady Tremaine Trein.
It surprised Mrs. and Mr. Trein to see their daughters in the bathroom bathing and dressing up an actual baby. A baby. Not a dog, an actual baby. Where did you come from- no we can't keep it where are their parents?! You found them outside in the backyard?!
Well, they weren't lying. Just beyond the backyard of their home was a massive cater with a toddler-shaped hole. After hearing the news about how apparently children were raining from the sky he was confused about what to do at first. He and his wife did take care of you for a bit.
During all the time Ana and Drizel were basically treating you like their own sibling. You were now their dress-up doll and playmate! Your new sisters absolutely coddled you and were heartbroken when they heard mom and dad say that might not keep you.
When the day came when the couple were deciding to keep you, they saw the heartbroken looks of their daughters as they prepared to say goodbye. That is when the Treins' decided that you shall stay.
It doesn't matter your gender at all. With two older sisters, it is time for dress-up and make-up. You. Will. Wear. The. Dress. It actually isn't a bad bonding moment either. You all choose different clothing and makeup for each other.
Ana will beat up anyone that dares hurt any of her siblings and is always there to bail you out of trouble or sneak things like extra candy. Drizel on the other hand is a total drama queen that loves gossip. She is always there to lift you up however with lots of compliments and doesn't let you talk yourself down at all. They love you very much and you love them.
Mama Trein or rather, Lady Tremaine was a very classy and old-fashioned lady that believed heavily in traditional values such as poisoning your worst enemies and exacting vengeance on anyone who wrongs you. She taught you all manners, proper etiquette on all sorts of subjects, how to dress, and most importantly how to backhand anyone that dares to touch you or your sisters. Since you couldn't use magic to curse or hex, you learn from a young age how to fight and defend your sisters in hand to hand combat.
Mozus on the other hand, though just as strict, believed heavily in letting you and your sisters play as hard as you worked. He does expect a lot of great things from all three of you and makes sure you all study for school. You learn to take good notes and how to write perfect college essays from him.
Despite how intimidating the couple looked. They were loving and sweet. You, your sisters, and your many many cats were raised with lots of love and care. From balanced meals to family time you never felt out of place. No one would believe that the super prestigious and strict Mozus Trein would tell the best bedtime stories. Or how Lady Tremaine would sing the most precious lullabies. Or how both of them were so happy when Drizel 'came out', with them it never felt as though you had to.
It was like a knife in your heart when your beloved mother died. All of you went through a period of mourning. Seeing your sisters so sad hurt even more. From then on you decided you would do everything you can do to see them smile again. You swore even harder to protect them.
The day comes that you are taken to NRC. And even then you still send old-fashioned letters and texts to Ana and Drizel about your time here, sparing no details as you tell them your most recent adventure.
Ashton Vargas
When the man found you in the outskirts of town in a crater, he was surprised by just how strong you were. You were just a toddler yet here you were sleeping as if you didn't just fall out of the sky. Such talent would be wasted if he just let someone else have you, plus he won't lie, you're quite cute and the way you coo at him made him attached.
He's the most jock dad ever. He definitely added protein powder to your meals as a kid and used you as his personal weight to curl. Loving at how you giggled with each curl.
You have a very healthy diet, to say the least. You have definitely drunk raw eggs and survived off pre-workout at some point. Ashton is going to train you at a young age and encourage you to go outside as much as possible. Definitely signs you up for all kinds of sports. He trains with you too and sometimes is the coach of the games you play.
He's the most dadliest dad to ever dad. Definition of "don't touch the thermostat" and will get up at 5 am to mow the lawn. Also lots of grill days. Man's gotta grill, you know? Meat is good protein now come over here and he'll teach you his secret steak recipe. While we wait let's have a friendly arm wrestle and see who got stronger.
He does encourage you to push your limits in strength but lectures you to not ignore your body. As long as you get passing grades and you're happy, he's happy. Don't think physical activity is the only thing he teaches you. He's an older gentleman and has had to learn lessons the hard way in the past.
"Now listen here son/young one, remember that if a boy or girl says no to you it means no. Do not try to change their mind, okay?" Cringes at his younger years when he tried to convince girls to get with him and doesn't want that to happen again.
He's proud of you when you get into NRC no matter how. Not only does he get to see his kid more, but he also has his training buddy! He does expect you to join some sort of sports club, preferably basketball so you both can have more bonding time. All in all, you are probably buff from having protein at a young age but are a respectful softie at heart. Ashton Vargas, though a bit eccentric, isn't raising any delinquents.
Sam
Arguably the best one to be found by. He doesn't freak out or anything. His friends from the other side told him all about how the sky will fall. He wasn't expecting a child to come out of the sky, however.
Sam has no trouble taking you in, plus his spirit friends seem to like you too. He'll run the shop with a baby in his arms with no problem, even better, his customers have not started adding tips and buying more to help support his newest addition to the family. You're quite the good luck charm, eh kid?
You are never without supervision as a kid. Even if he's not in the room his shadow and ghost friends are there to entertain and rock you to sleep. They adore you.
The good thing about being a shop owner and having so much in stock is that it was no trouble to get materials for you. Cribs? All the latest models. Baby food? Comes in 150 varieties for each different race: human, merfolk, etc. Toys? Yup!
As you get older he acts more like a brother than a father but you don't mind. He's very laid back and has a lot of trust in you. He knows you won't do anything bad, you're a good kid! And if you did, his friends would tell him.
He encourages you to be adventurous and try things out for yourself. He won't let you do anything dangerous such as touching fire, he would even demonstrate why you can't play with it. However, potions or materials around the shop? Go right ahead and create something, kid! He'll be right by your side. The only rule is to tell him when you're going out and to be back in time for dinner together. Yes, he will not start without you. You eat as a family, okay?
Very practical dad. Teaches you everything he knows but also lets you make discoveries of your own. He teaches you how to make a good gumbo and how to handle a knife correctly, but allows you to experiment with spices and combinations to find your own style.
This doesn't just apply to food. He teaches everything about his magic and spirits too. He'll show you how to properly do tarot along with other spells. Even if you don't have magic, he gives you your own magical tarot deck to guide you with some more difficult decisions. Sam also teaches you how to communicate with spirits. You may not be able to do magic but they sure can.
You now always have a few spirits and shadow families with you. Combine that with your knowledge of all sorts of magic and potions and bam. You're now one of the very few beat tamers Twisted Wonderland has to offer.
Once you get older you learn how to run the shop. Usually, you used to help him haggle customers and sell more items, who can say no to your adorable face? Now that you're older, you help your father by restocking the shelves and offering your own services to customers. You probably roped your very first customer into making a deal with the other side and had an amazing duet and celebratory lunch afterward.
You were able to get into NRC much differently. Crowley said himself that beast tamers were very rare and good ones were rarer. Yet here you were with a few shadows at your side able to tame even the most unruly beast. From a few dragons to birds or dogs, animals seem to follow and listen to you everywhere.
Though you may (or may not) be magicless, NRC accepted you with the condition that you would have to be in the Ramshackle dorm. Though Sam has a shop on campus when the carriage came for you you both had a super dramatic hug and goodbye before he waves you off "Come on kiddo time for you to go! aww, they grow up so fast.."
A perfect orientation was ruined by an unruly beast, Grim, who set everything on fire. Thankfully, you were able to demonstrate your ability to both tame and subdue beasts in front of everyone. Your shadows leaped out to hold the tanuki down as you used one of your talismans to calm down the beast. Your smaller dragon friends made sure to hold onto Grim as a few magical shadows of yours helped to clean up the mess.
The Mirror rejected you, yes, the art of beast taming was long lost. However, Crowley came up and made an announcement, that you would be starting a new dorm with that off tanuki you just tamed and possibly be the start of a new dorm that doesn't rely on magic, but rather on friends. Yes you got some laughs, and you know many would doubt your abilities to lead or do well, but you'll be damn sure to do your best.
The minute you're done with orientation, you go to tell Sam about it. He immediately congratulates you and goes to hug you, offering to help you fix up the old dorm at least with a decent room to sleep in. It's nice to be so close to your only family. You occasionally pop into the shop to help run it and talk to Sam about everything that's been going on.
Let's just say you being Sam's kid of all people, being a good beast tamer, making deals of your own, AND being able to make potions, summonings, and spell talismans without magic needed definitely helped you prove yourself to others. It may have even attracted the eyes of a certain octopus…

I Dare You Part 2 (Eddie X You)
Tumblr media
A/N: Part 2 of @harrys-tittie ask. ;)
Warnings: Handcuffs...all the handcuffs 🫠
Word Count: 1381
Part 1 Here
The handcuffs against the headboard clinked as your wrists tried to reach down and grab Eddie to no success. He had already made you cum five times with his mouth alone between your legs and your body shuttered as he brought you to number six.
“Jesus, Sweetheart. I could eat your pussy all night.” You gasped as his tongue grazed your now extremely overstimulated clit. “Oh, baby. Is it too sensitive?”
You nod as you bite your lip, unable to form words.
“Aw, honey. I’m sorry.”, his tone is laced with mocking. “Hey. I have an idea. Let’s give this part of your body a break.” Eddie kisses your cheek as he climbs over you and heads for his dresser. After digging through it for a few seconds, he makes a small aha sound when he finds what he needs, pulling out the purple vibrator.
He jumps back on to the bed like an excited young boy about to unwrap a big Christmas present. Eddie lays by your side, running his fingers up your tied legs to your open thighs. His lips tenderly press against your shoulder and neck, trailing their way to your ear. You keen into the sound of his voice.
“You still with me, Sweetheart? Do you need water or anything?” He tuts when you shake your head no. “Words, baby.”
“I’m still with you, Eddie. I’m ok.”
“Good. You’re doing so good, Princess. Even though you lost the bet, you can still shout out the color and we can stop, okay?”
“Ok, baby. I love you.”
He lifts his head to smile down you as he moves his finger on the device bringing the vibrator to life. Slowly at first, he pushes the tip of it into your entrance making you moan.
“I love you to, Y/N. God, I am obsessed with the sounds that come out of your mouth like this.” He pushed the toy in deeper, eliciting a whimper as you turn your head into his shoulder. He gently begins pumping into you, grinning with delight as your arms and legs start to squirm against their confinements. “I bet you wish you had something to tug on, huh?”
Almost involuntarily, your hips start to push back, rolling against the vibrator in his hand. Eddie’s face falls back into your neck as he thrusts it faster into you.
“I can’t wait to feel you cum around me. You should thank me honestly for letting you cum this many times especially after you lost our bet but…” The sound of your slick fills the room as he pumps it harder into your cunt. “I think it’s only fair I make it up to you after cutting my hair and not telling you. I know how much you loved it long.”
You moaned into his ear as your body trembled. Without the barrier of his hair, the sound of you climaxing echoed through his ears clearer than ever making his dick twitch against your leg.
Eddie quickly rose to his knees, positioning his cock by your lips.
“Open your beautiful mouth for me, Princess.” You do as he asks, presenting your mouth wide open as he slowly pushes himself against your tongue. “That’s it, Sweetheart. Your mouth feels amazing.”
You feel his upper body bend a bit and suddenly a jolt of electricity tingles from your core. Eddie presses the toy against your clit causing you to whimper around him. “Fucking hell.”
His free hand pushes your sweaty, damp hair out of your face as his other hand glides the vibrator back into your body. “Don’t move, baby. Just keep your mouth open.” He thrusts into your face, making you gag around him. Eddie’s moans are obscene music to your ears as your pussy clenches around the toy. Your own whimpers and moans become more consistent. Eddie knows you’re about to cum again.
He rapidly pulls his cock out of your mouth and throws the vibrator into the void of the floor as he replaces it with two of fingers in your dripping hole. His hand moves so fast your lungs can barely keep up as you try to catch your breath.
Your legs shake as you scream to the roof of his trailer, shouting his name to the skies above.
You barely hear him as he moves around by your feet but you feel when your legs have more mobility. Eddie wraps them around his waist as he leans down to press his forehead to yours.
“Are you back down from heaven, Sweetheart? I want you here with me when I fuck you.”
“Eddie,” you mewl his name as your lips hover under his. “Please.”
His gorgeous lips attach to yours, swallowing your whine as he pushed his cock into your entrance bottoming out immediately. Your fingers tugged at the chain of the cuffs as he thrust his hips into you with purpose. More than anything you wanted to run your hands down his back, cling to any part of him you could reach. Eddie’s eyes fluttered towards your wrists as he watched you struggle against them.
His movements slowed as he thrust himself deeper inside of you, the tip of his cock hitting that spot inside of you every…single…time.
“What’s the matter, baby? You want to touch me? Fuck. You feel so fucking good.”
His eyes squeeze shut as his mouth opens to grunt out a moan that caused your pussy to tighten around him. Without his long hair in front of his face, you could see every bit of pleasure contort across his features. You could witness how his tongue slid over his lips after every breathy moan and the small smile that followed. You noticed how his muscled defined in his shoulder and upper arms as he tried to hold himself up just enough to not crush you with his full body weight; not that you cared. You loved feeling his warm body on yours.
When Eddie’s eyes opened again, you saw the mixture of ecstasy and focus but more than anything you saw his love for you especially when his beautiful orbs found yours. You craned your neck to kiss him and he deepened it, guiding your head back down against the pillow.
He pulled away from your lips just enough to have you panting against them. You moan his named repeatedly as the coil in your belly snapped and your pussy fluttered around him like a vice.
“Oh my god.” Eddie’s head fell under your chin as he wrapped his arms around your upper body, holding on to you as he pushed his hips into you with a quick rhythm. His grip tightened, clinging to you as he grunted against your skin, releasing ropes of his seed deep within you.
Your legs fell limply to the mattress as he collapsed on to you, trying to catch his breath.
“Eddie?” You gently tapped him with your foot as you giggle. “My hands are tingly.”
“Fucking shit!” He immediately got up and unhooked you from your restraints. “I’m sorry, honey. Hang on, one second.” You smiled after him as he shuffled out of the room and quickly came back with glass of water.
As soon as the liquid disappeared and you set the cup on his bedside table, Eddie lifted you into his arms and carried you to the bathroom. After making sure the water was warm, he helped you into the shower and placed you directly under the flow. You sighed as it hit your hair and ran down your body.
Your eyes locked with Eddie’s as you reached up to run your fingers through his now deflated curls.
“Are you still mad at me?”, he asks as his hands reach out to pull you closer to him.
“No. I have a newfound appreciation for it.”, your fingers drift down towards his cheek as your thumb grazes his bottom lip. “I like that I can see all of your face. Just please… say no every once in a while.”
Eddie chuckles as he leans down to kiss you. “No promises.”
“Oh, ok.” You playfully smile against his lips. “How about this. The next dare you do I’ll do it to. What do you think, Eds? I think I’d look cute with shorter hair.”

Gwen Stacy x Reader  Part 2
Across the Spider-Verse
A/N: Sorry to keep changing my Format layout!!! I’m still trying to figure out what I want all my fics to look like, and I write on two devices so it’s hard to get them to look Identical! But I hope you enjoy it!!!
Warnings: Gwen being a little creepy and climbing in a window, abandonment, just basic angst
~~
Gwen didn’t anticipate any of this to happen. When she heard the report on the police radio she thought it would be quick, even if her father was there. What she couldn’t have expected was for someone from another universe to be who she was dealing with. The guy looked almost out of an old, colorless comic book. Wings and clothing that seemed more like paper mache than metal and cloth, and a mask that reassembled that of a bird's beak. Gwen was more than confused to say the very least.
He was a difficult opponent, something she had not expected to be dealing with that night. What she also didn’t expect to deal with was two more masked figures to drop from a multi-colored portal and attempt to fight more against her than with her. His name was Miguel from what the woman said, and her name was Jess. They were skilled at their job, but it irritated Gwen that they barely let her help. Treating her as if she were a toddler, not a crime-fighting vigilante. But they got it done, even if there were a few casualties. When Gwen dropped from the ceiling next to Miguel, the last thing she expected to see was her father, pointing a gun at her head, even though her mask was off.
Needless to say, Gwen was not truly thinking when she went through that portal, leaving everything behind. She wasn’t thinking about her friends that would notice her absence from school and the garage band. She wasn’t thinking about her father, who would now have to grapple with the fact that his daughter was the one he had been hunting down for months, swearing vengeance against with all his heart, and she wasn’t thinking of you. How you’d get a call from her father, vaguely stating that she went missing and he didn’t know if she’d be back. She didn’t think of how you’d drop to the floor, clutching your chest as you nearly screamed from sobbing. Tears staining the carpet of your kitchen as you felt your world almost shatter in front of your eyes. She wasn’t thinking of how you’d stop eating, or how your grades would decline, or how you’d be alone at night, your late-night calls and conversations no longer there to fill the void of insomnia anymore, so you’d just lay there, your body feeling numb from the pain you had been feeling all day, every day, for months.
Gwen didn’t forget about you though. As she began her new career at the Multiversal Spider Hub, she began to realize just how different this life would be, or more specifically, how different it was not to have you around. The sound of your voice and laughter no longer rang in her ears like a melody. The warmth of your embrace and the softness of your lips were almost forgotten by her body like a nostalgic memory one remembers in the darkest of times. Gwen hated how easily her body was forgetting, and how easily she was letting it. But it’s not like she could go see you. No, she was given strict orders not to visit you, or miles, and getting thrown out of this position meant having to face her father, and that was something she didn’t think she’d ever be ready to do. So she continued with the missions they gave her, following their rules and operations, and no matter how hard she tried to forget you, to purge your smile and shining eyes from her brain, she couldn’t. It was torture. It had been months since she’s last seen you and it was like she was going through a withdrawal. She was constantly craving you, just to hold your hand one more time would be enough she thought, if she could just go see you once, she didn’t even have to talk to you. Just to make sure you were ok, that you hadn’t forgotten her either. It was mildly selfish, she knew that, but she couldn’t care less as she discreetly snuck back into the universe you both shared.
It was darker than she remembered. Without Spider Woman crime had begun to rise, and with the chief of police grappling with losing his daughter, the police force was suffering an enormous blow. In some ways, it still looked the same. The city park, where you and she would sit for hours on a picnic blanket, talking about complete nonsense and laughing about nothing, eating food that you either prepared or had bought, and just being happy with life. The school where you two had met, both waiting for the bus to take you home, as you both kept glancing at each other and sharing quiet smiles. Then, there was the Trade Center. One hundred stories up there was a landing deck that she took you to after you found out she was Spider Woman. That was where she asked you to be her Partner. That was the place you’d always go together if you needed space from life, to just be where you wanted to be and not worry about any other responsibility that life required. She missed those times. They were a lot simpler than what she had to deal with now, and she regrets never realizing how much she actually had before she let it all go.
As she stepped from the building she had emerged from, she started towards your apartment building. Her muscle memory led the way as she remembered swinging to your house almost every day, no matter the time because she knew you’d always leave the window unlocked for her. No matter how many times she told you it was unsafe, you told her that you were dating Spider Woman and you knew she’d protect you, which would then lead to you two cuddling and watching a movie.
When she stopped outside the emergency stairs near your window, she contemplated stopping. What was she doing? She didn’t even know if you would want to see her after she just left without saying a word to you. What if you didn’t love her anymore? What if you loved someone else? What if you didn’t even live here anymore and she was about to get shot by a 50-year-old man with a handgun? Pushing those thoughts aside, she peered into what she remembered to be your bedroom window, and when she saw you, she almost began to cry.
There you were, snuggled into your twin-sized bed, blankets tucked around your body like a burrito and your face was all but smooshed into your pillow. Your nose was scrunched and your mouth was open slightly, making her sigh. She missed seeing you like this. She missed coming to see you every night, for no reason but to just see your face.
She knows she should leave right then. Control herself and step right back out the window and leave because she had no right to waltz back into your life after she had no idea what had been going on with you since she left. But she couldn’t. It was horrible she knew but she couldn’t just leave. She had to talk to you, hug you, kiss you one last time, even if she knew one last time might be a lie. But she wasn’t able to before her comm dinged.
Scrambling out the window, not bothering to check if she woke you, she looked at the message displayed on the screen.
Earth 616 Possible danger. Contain the threat and report back.
Which was then followed by,
Don’t Go See Him.

I stayed up pretty late writing and editing this since people seemed to like it so much! I hope you enjoy!

Like I’m Gonna Lose You
PAIRING: Kenny McCormick x Reader
SUMMARY: You’ve been having nightmares for quite some time now but you always made sure Kenny never noticed, until one night when you woke up crying.
GENRE: Angst and fluff
WARNINGS: Mentions of death, swearing.
WORD COUNT: 1.6k words
Tumblr media
“Stan, come on, we’ve been all over town. Care to tell me where is Kenny?”
“I promise if you listen to me and don’t ask any questions, we’ll be able to find him later” Stan has been acting really weird since the morning he knocked on your door and told you Kenny was already at the festival the town was having.
“Y/n, just don’t ask questions and trust me, ok?”
“Fine,” you sighed, trying not to think about where Kenny could be. As the day passed, you could see Stan was making you avoid everyone. You noticed the people in the town were looking, making you uncomfortable. It was as if everyone knew something you didn’t, including Stan. You could see and feel his nervousness as if he was hiding something.
“Stan, I’m serious.” you stopped walking and made Stan look at you. “Where is Kenny?” you asked once again.
His attitude was making you anxious. You noticed a lot of people were walking to the school, and you started to follow them. Your heart started pounding, and you felt something was up. You couldn’t quite put your finger on it, but something told you to start walking towards the school.
You heard Stan shouting your name, but you didn’t stop. It was like the whole town was at the school. It’s been years since you’ve been at South Park’s elementary school, so you felt a little bit uneasy to be walking through the school’s halls again. You realized everyone was walking to the auditorium, and you made your way to it, pushing everyone.
When you entered, you saw all of your ex-classmates and their respective parents turning around and looking directly at you with pitiful eyes. You could also see Kenny’s parents sitting on the stage. His mother was crying uncontrollably, and so was Karen. Next to them was a giant photo of Kenny. The type of photo you usually see at funerals.
You felt someone turn you around. Stan looked like he had run a marathon but was also crying.
“Stan, what the fuck is happening? Why are they crying?” you choked out, trying to stop the tears that were threatening to come out.
“He’s…” you didn’t even let Stan finish his sentence, even though you asked him in the first place.
“No, no, he’s not. I saw him yesterday, Stan. There’s no way he’s-”
“He’s gone. He’s never coming back, Y/n” You felt like someone stabbed you right in the heart and knocked out all the air from your lungs. “We’ll never see him ever again.”
“FUCK STAN! I GOT IT JUST-” The tears were streaming down your face at this point. Just the mere thought of never going to be able to see Kenny again was ripping your soul. “I didn’t even say goodbye to him….” you managed to say. Your whole body collapsed to the floor, and you screamed. The pain was way too realistic. This definitely was happening. Kenny was dead, and there was no way you could bring him back. He’s gone.
You woke up shaking and crying. You quickly looked around your room and saw Kenny lying next to you. You sighed out of relief. The feeling of losing Kenny felt too real to be only a dream. Kenny slowly woke up from the movement you created in your frantic search for him and noticed your state. That was enough for him to woke up completely.
“Hey hey hey,” you felt Kenny sitting next to you. “What happened?” Kenny’s arms wrapped around your body, and you let out a cry. As the minutes passed, you were trying to calm yourself down. Everything was just a dream, more like a nightmare. Kenny was fine, but the pain was real.
The void, the thought of losing him, was still there, and when you thought you were finally calm, you started to cry again. It was useless. And not only that but for the past weeks, for some reason, you’ve been having nightmares every night. Some of them always ended up in someone, or instead, something chasing you, trying to do something to you.
Those were the light nightmares. The ones with monsters or weird creatures were what you consider to an extent, a “normal nightmare.” The worst ones always involved losing someone you loved. Sometimes it was one family member, sometimes your best friend, and worst case scenario, this.
Kenny was starting to worry. You weren’t stopping at all, and it hurt him not to be able to do anything to calm you down. This was the first time he had seen you in this state. You always were able to never wake him up whenever you woke up in the middle of the night by a nightmare- constantly waking up feeling your pulse on your head and frantic breathing. You never jumped out of your laying position, so that was a plus.
But unfortunately, you never managed to fall asleep after waking up from a nightmare, too scared the dream would continue once you fall asleep again. So you just waited until it was a reasonable hour to be awake so you could start your day without any questions from Kenny. And that’s basically how your days for the past weeks have been. Of course, this time was completely different.
You felt Kenny hugging you harder, and that help you to come back slowly to reality. You focused on the way he was holding you and the heat that was radiating from his body. He was alive, and you were repeating that to yourself. He was safe, he was not going anywhere, he was well, and he was next to you.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry, Kenny. I didn’t mean to wake you up.” you hiccuped. Kenny sighed. That was the least of his problems right now. Kenny moved, so he was now sitting in front of you. He took notice of your tired and glossy eyes.
“Sweetheart, can I ask what had you all worried?” Kenny grabbed your cheek and gave you a quick peck on the lips.
“It’s not worth it, Kenny” You rubbed your hands on your face. You were tired.
“So you want me to ignore the fact that you woke up crying?”
“Kenny…”
“Please, love. Tell me what happened.” you sighed. You started to tell him everything that happened in your dream. How he disappeared, how Stan was trying to distract you so you wouldn’t find out he was dead, and how you found out he was gone forever. Kenny stayed in silence while you were explaining your dream. He grabbed both of your hands, and his thumbs were rubbing the back of your hands.
“It was horrible. It felt real. I really thought I lost you, Kenny. I don’t… I can’t live without you, and the fucking nightmare made me feel that.” Tears started to stream down your cheeks, but you tried to calm yourself. Kenny kissed your knuckles as a way to reassure you he was not going anywhere.
“I’m not going to leave you anytime soon.”
“I know that, but we don’t know what might happen. What if by tomorrow you’re not here anymore and-” You started to overthink.
“Wait, imma stop you right there. I’m not going to disappear or leave you.”
“But-”
“No, love. Listen to me. It was just a dream. Just because you dreamt about me dying doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen tomorrow. You cannot live with those types of thoughts filling up your head. Yeah, we are not immortal, and that’s bound to happen someday,” you closed your eyes. “But we cannot let the fear of losing our loved ones eat us alive. You have to enjoy your life.”
“Kenny…”
“So, as for now, let’s go back to sleep, and we will do something together tomorrow. I’ll take my beautiful girl out on a date.” Kenny kissed the tip of your nose and decided it was time you get some proper rest, so he laid down on his side of the bed and made you lie down next to him. He positioned your head on his chest. You wanted to fall asleep again, but you knew that wouldn’t happen.
“Uh… I have to be completely honest with you. I don’t think I’m gonna be able to fall asleep again.” Kenny started to stroke your hair, thinking maybe that would help you calm down. “And well… It’s been like this for quite a few days now.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Kenny asked.
“I didn’t want to bother and wake you up, Ken,” you heard him sigh.
“Has it always been this dream?” Kenny wanted to know if you’d been handling this by yourself.
“Fortunately, no. Most of the nightmares are things trying to kill me. I just wake up at the exact moment before they are able to catch me. Some of them are even worse since I cannot scream or run. But I prefer a hundred times those types of nightmares. At least I know those won’t happen ever.”
“What if aliens and monsters invade us one day?” you laughed.
“Well, that would be such an interesting thing to happen.” Kenny chuckled. “At least I’m gonna be with you, right?”
“Of course. We are gonna be together till the end of the world.” You heard how Kenny’s voice came out as a whisper. His breathing was also becoming softer, meaning he was starting to fall back asleep. You paid attention to his heartbeat, the pace was soothing, and somehow, it helped you. For the first time after a nightmare, you felt safe.
“Just promise me that you will tell me whenever you have a nightmare. It doesn’t matter the hour. Just wake me up. Promise?” you smiled.
“Promise.”
Maybe you don’t have to deprive yourself of falling back to sleep this time. Just as long as Kenny’s arms were wrapped around you, everything would be fine.

Dear Vash...
Two years after having to watch Vash fall from space, you are still filled with so many emotions. You decide to write him a letter to try and get those emotions out.
-SFW, angst, coping with a loss, unshakable love
-Word Count: 815
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dear Vash,
I don't know if you'll ever read this, but I have to write it anyway. I have to tell you how much I love you, and how much I miss you.
It’s been two whole years, and I still cannot believe you’re gone. Well not gone, just missing. You’ve been missing these past two years. I have to keep telling myself that. That’s the only thought that gives me hope anymore. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Before you left with Wolfwood, you held me tight and whispered in my ear that you would be back soon. I remember the way you held my hand and told me everything would be ok.
It’s been two years since I watched you fall from space with such heartbreak on your face. Then having to watch July disappear, you along with it. I saw the explosion that lit up the night, and the shockwave that shook the ground. The thought of you being gone was so devastating, my heart broke into a million pieces. I screamed for you. I tried to run to you, but Wolfwood stopped me before I could take two steps.
I was traveling around this world with Wolfwood, after everything calmed down, looking for any signs of you. We've been to numerous places, some beautiful and peaceful, some dangerous and chaotic. I met so many people, most of them were friendly and kind. He talks about you sometimes, you know. It isn’t much and it isn’t very often, but when he speaks of you, he smiles to himself. That’s the only time I see him smile anymore.
I miss you more than my words or actions could ever express, Vash. Every night, I hug your old pillow and whisper your name, hoping you can hear me somehow. I wake up hoping you’ll magically just be back, but the bed remains empty, and the house is still quiet. The silence is deafening, and the emptiness is suffocating. I long to hear your voice, to feel your touch, to see that amazing smile again.I still remember the sound of your laughter, the way your eyes sparkled when you smiled, and the warmth of your embrace. I miss your voice, your touch, your scent, your everything. I miss all of you.
One of my favorite memories with you is the night we ate noodles on a rooftop, just the two of us. We were in that tiny town, where the sky was clear and the stars were bright. We had bought some noodles from a street vendor, and we climbed up that one abandoned building. We sat on the edge of the roof, our legs dangling over the side, and ate our noodles. We talked about everything and nothing, laughing and joking and sharing our thoughts about the world and life. We looked up at the stars, and you told me you wondered what they were like. I made a wish on the shooting one, and we hoped it would come true. I felt so free, so happy, so alive. It was a perfect moment, and I wish I could relive it just one more time.
I know you had to leave to protect us, but I can't help feeling like a part of me is missing. I hope that you'll come back to me soon. I'll be waiting for you, always. I know somewhere in this vast world, you’re still alive, and I hope you’re well. I think about you all the time, wondering where you are and what you're doing. Are you thinking of me too? Do you miss me as much as I miss you?
I try to keep myself busy, but nothing seems to fill the void that you left behind. I look at our pictures, and I remember the good times we had together. I read your letters, and I feel your love. But it's not enough. I need you here with me, holding me close, telling me that everything will be alright.
I know you’re out there. I’m waiting, Vash.  I'm waiting for you to come back to me. I don't care about the destruction, or the bounty, or the rumors. I don't care what anyone says about you. You're not a monster, or a typhoon, or a stampede. You're my hero, my angel, my everything.
You're the one who taught me how to live, how to laugh, how to love. You're the one who showed me the beauty of this world, and the kindness of its people. You're the one who gave me hope, and peace, and happiness. I don't know when you'll be back, but I'll be waiting for you. I'll be here, with open arms, ready to welcome you home. Until then, know that I love you more than anything in this world, and I'll be thinking of you always.
-Forever yours,
Mayfly.
