Oh man, okay, sorry for taking so long to reply to this ask! But it's such a good one and I unfortunately have the memory of a gold fish, so I needed to do Research™ (aka reread all my favs again lmao) so I could answer it properly. 😂

I only have one Steter fic of my own atm, so I guess that's my de facto personal fav for now…

But as for other folks' work, god, there are sooooo many great Steter fics out there!! So these are just a handful of my top favs, and definitely not a comprehensive list!

Five Times Peter and Stiles Troll the Pack by taylorpotato Rating: M | 2.5k | requires an AO3 account to read Stiles and Peter yell at each other in Polish, misleading the pack into think they're fighting, when in reality it's all just like completely fuckin' filthy dirty talk lmao. Short, but very funny, and such a perfect capture of their mischievous dynamic. 10/10, would recommend!

The Devil You Know by Twisted_Mind Rating: E | 11.6k Peter is there for Stiles when no one else is, and uses that to slowly manipulate his way into earning Stiles' explicit trust. And ooooh boy, is it so delicious and spicy. God damn! Cards on the table: this fic definitely won't be for everyone since it wades into some darker waters. But oh my god do I love love LOVE Peter's characterization in it. God, I feel like I could write a whole damn essay about this fic, but then I'd just end up spoiling the whole thing LOL. Just--if you like darker, manipulative Peter and enjoy your sweetness just a wee bit twisted, then 10/10 would recommend!

The Prince and the Pease by luulapants Rating: E | 47k | requires an AO3 account to read Medieval/Royalty AU where Peter is forced to cede his claim to the throne and become a "guest" of King Deucalion's as part of a peace treaty between the two kingdoms. Stiles, who is suspiciously far too mouthy for your average servant, is gifted to Peter as a bedwarmer. This one does such an incredible, masterful job at translating the characters into its setting and time period. The sass, the wit, the wordplay! You can definitely tell the author knows their shit, and my god is it fantastic. The plot itself is also so satisfying -- lots of great ups and downs, and, ugh, just so good! (Be sure to read p2 for the full ending btw!) Needless to say, 10/10, would recommend!

Keeping him (It's all about intent) by sittinginmytincan Rating: M (& E for oneshot sequel) | 121k Stiles winds up slingshotted into his own future, where it turns out he's married to Peter Hale of all people. His only way back is with Lydia's help, but she's gone mysteriously missing somewhere on the east coast while investigating some strange disappearances. Man, this fic….. I feel like the writer for this one must have received a checklist of things I'm into and decided to mark nearly every single one of them lol. Time travel, woke up married, magical theory, an enthralling af plotline -- and it's so thorough. Like, everything is so incredibly well thought out, the characterization is on point, and the development of Stiles and Peter's relationship is just chef kiss. Definitely 10/10, would recommend!

The Striking Complication by aurevell Rating: T | 118k I don't even want to write a summary up for this one because the mystery of it all and peeling back what's happening piece by piece is, imo, the best way to experience it. This story is intense as fuck, near relentlessly oppressive, and impossible to put down. It keeps you constantly at the edge of your seat as you try to figure out what is going on and how Peter and Stiles will survive it, with these heart-wrenchingly sweet breather moments sprinkled throughout. If you enjoy time loop stories, this one is an absolute must read! 10/10, would recommend!

build-a-beau by veterization Rating: E | 41.5k Tired of his dad always worrying about him being single, Stiles decides to pay for a fake boyfriend service so he can finally get his pops off his back about it. It goes about as well as one can expect a fake texting boyfriend you accidentally catch real feelings for can go lmao. This fic is wonderfully witty, with really fantastic banter between the two of them, and it's just so very fun getting to watch the pretend part of their exchanges slip more and more into something genuine. 10/10, would recommend!

Under the Songbird's Wing by mia6363 Raing: E | 87k Stiles is captured and held in captivity alongside Peter, Deucalion, and Satomi Ito. To survive, Stiles runs through lacrosse drills and tells stories, eventually persuading his fellow cellmates out of their shells and establishing a profound, unbreakable bond between them. This one is HEAVY, folks. Like, heavy heavy. But, god, it's also such a beautiful exploration of the characters and the bonds they develop through shared captivity. I don't even know what more to say, really, it's just haunting and lovely and awful and wonderful all at once. In the mood for something that hurts? Then 10/10, would recommend!

The art for this couple is beautiful and well done and I’m so happy this novel is getting noticed more and more, do not get me wrong. BUT, I just gotta let out some steam.

Look, I KNOW the BL/yaoi/danmei tropes. I know how it seems to be the unshakeable rule that there has to be a “top” and a “bottom” dynamic that never switches, and that the top always has to be more rugged and tall and wide at the shoulders, while the bottom is the pretty twink. It’s the most common dynamic and portrayal, worn as it is (though I am happy to say I’ve seen a couple good deviations from this rising to the top in manhwa and other media in recent years). The reason why I learned to love this novel so much is that it DIDN’T fall into these basic dynamics the same way while also using them in essence, so I guess the art is kinda making my brain fritz, along with a lot of ppl comparing Fu Shen to Wei Wuxian hahah.

In the book, Yan Xiaohan is honestly the bratty, cunning, scheming and utterly devoted vinegar jar beauty of a “wife” left at home when his man goes to get one drink and talk politics with another dude (yes this happens), who also happily tops his more traditionally “manly” and stoic husband on the regular (while not being a strict top at any point). They are both ok with this, as Fu Shen is never portrayed as “weaker” or less “manly” bc of this (like a lot of BL/yaoi etc. have a habit of doing). Yan Xiaohan also happily opens his arms and demands Fu Shen kiss him and push him down bc ya know he just loves his husband and always wants to get it on everywhere with him (this also happens lol), all the while being fine with carrying on their inside joke of him being “wifey”. He gets compared to a flower and a siren, he gets both a Xie Lian moment and a Jin Guangyao moment with being dressed up and passing as woman for his looks as well as described as being almost the spitting image of his mother respectively, all the while not feeling demeaned by any of it. And while we never see Fu Shen actually topping him, the “sex pollen” bit left more than enough hints that just about everything was tried and tested, so Fu Shen’s “manliness” has never been in doubt in my mind lolol. 

So, in my mind, they’ve always been among the strongest switch/vers energy couple I’ve seen in danmei since the beginning, with Fu Shen deserving to have his own masculinity emphasized and not just shoved into an ill-fitting “bottom” mold. They also break some more of the toxic molds of danmei by being “enemies to lovers” but actually being really heartfelt and domestic and passionately in love for half the book, in the open, making no excuses. Their story of course also has strong themes of morality, politics, goverment and rulers, as well as duty and sacrifice, so just a fully rounded package all around. 

So I guess I just found the art a tad misleading when it comes to their couple dynamics at first glance and felt some type of way about it lmao. Idk sorry about this mini rant, I mean ill to no one and nothing, I just wanted to air out some thoughts I’ve had after reading some conversations about them around the internet hahah. Still loved the art and ofc the books, I hope we get to see more and more art of them in the future bc there’s always room for everything! <3

i had this all sorted out AWHILE back with my friends but figured hey why not archive this thought here ehehehe also im really enjoying my new "style" in infodumping so i like to see more of it

this team doesn't have to be THE canon if it conflicts with the story that the devs plan, but if i had to expand his character a lil bit, this is how it goes!

so rhys is not exactly the kind of champion to focus on one type (i.e: wallace and water types/steven with steel types) but he would be like blue and red who has a variety! except that rhys focuses on two types - ice and steel type.

why ice and steel - well, for one i think those types are super underrated (and i would be lying if i said its not boring to reuse the fire water grass cycle lol) and i kinda the design philosophy in gym leaders how their types reflect their personality in a way. ice types are cool, calm and collected. "chill" if you will. steel types are determined, bold and dare i say potentially misleading (jasmine)

i see rhys as a man who is very calm, humble and sweet (ice) but when time strikes where he must act serious (and its not just battling, say - whatever happened to carmine), he's a stern, almost emotionless man who will do whatever he can do get what's needed.

so these two types bounce off him really well! also, its fun to break the stereotypical "if x is a fighting type then it means they gotta be a martial artist" - no rhys is not a fuckin KNIGHT as a steel type user nor is he wearing A SCARF OR SKI MASK as an ice type user lmao

Happy Chaos: Happy Chaos? Happy Chaos.

Happy Chaos is. well for one he's sexy. But ALSO. In my opinion, he's straight up the most well designed character "character-wise" (goodness gracious he is an oppressive mess in game though LMAO-) in all of Strive, and all of Guilty Gear in my opinion.

Let's start with his looks (he is so sexy):

Everything about HC is striking. He's very human looking, but at the same time inhuman. His blue skin obviously stands out, especially because it's not a very natural shade of blue. It seems very artificial, and the blue only stands out with the very weird tattoos on his body. A heart shape, with clenching teeth, and orange crosses. This character is about contrast and this shows it damn well. His human parts are almost immediately contrasted with something inhuman. If we look from bottom up, his lower body looks fine but then we realize his feet are blue and he's barefoot (despite having a jacket and pants). He has very plain black pants, but it's contrasted by a fucking gun holster, as well as two belts because Daisuke just fucking loves belts. Then this splash of colour with his blue skin, again dulled by his black heart tattoo, contrasted AGAIN with the yellow inside of the heart and the orange of the jacket's innards. Finally his glasses just look stupid.

They're ORANGE. CROSSES. And obviously, his weirdly unshaded (idk if that's the term here) black halo which just. MMM. His character's fine without it, but with it it just adds this… "what?" feeling to him that I do not know how to explain.

From looking at him you can immediately tell that this guy 1. doesn't give a shit 2. can kill you if he just feels like it. Forgive me if I'm wrong, as I'm stepping out of my territory, but his upper body seems to make a triangle (with his gun acting as an extender of its base), which is always used to show strength, and power. It's not a perfect triangle though, his head is tilted, his arm is up in this carefree pose. Even the halo is tilted, which, again, is so. just. cool!

HC' actual character? He's essentially a god with ADHD Immensely powerful to the point that he is by far the most powerful character in this entire series, but just. does not give a shit enough to really do too much with said power. His theme (Drift) is the best way to explain his character. It starts off with this really playful tune and the lyrics go:

that's. LITERALLY HC IN A NUTSHELL. Other than that his theme is just really good and tells of this very… strange being that is HC.

But I'd be misleading you if I said that was the only part of HC that was important. The biggest part of this guy is that he will constantly and repeatedly do harm to humanity, but only because he wants to see it thrive.

He joys for life, and thus he wants life to thrive beyond it all he will kill, destroy and do whatever he can (and he can do a LOT) to see what he wants. This selfish, but at the same time completely selfless desire to see humanity succeed. That is the motivation of Happy Chaos, and why he does all he does.

I could talk about so much more with this guy, but I'm gonna end it off here. Like how if he fights himself the opening dialogue will go: where the Chaos' say Chaos 1: "Wait which of us is real again?" Chaos 2: "Beats me" or Chaos 1: "Can I play the antagonist?" Chaos 2: "I'll be the protagonist then"

WHICH IS SUCH A QUIRKY FUNNY LINE I JUST JAISODVHJAOVD

All in all, Happy Chaos is probably one of the best character designs I've seen in a WHILE, and I HIGHLY recommend you look more into this character because he is just. mwah.

Like all posts I will make, this probably made absolutely no sense and was probably downright wrong a few times but oh well.

oooo ok it’s a really underdeveloped idea and the name is actually slightly misleading bc i kinda backtracked on the idea as i was writing but overall basically regulus is the forest witch who is normally perfectly civil and willing to help people with his magic until one day, when looking for a book to help someone he finds a spell to summon the king of demons and he’s like ok i have to try this

and basically this completely consumes him he devotes everything to summoning this demon and one day he succeeds (just picture a load of candles in a basement) and the demon is james

and he’s like you’re not the demon king are you and he’s like no lmao i’m his son and reggie is a bit pissed but then yk jegulus occurs as he’s trying to send james back but like pretending to fail so as to keep him there

Army is such a babe dfjkhgkf I love him so much. I wonder what happened between him and Alex although I think they're misleading us. Alex and Jean are definitely endgame but I'm very much on board with that. They have an amazing chemistry. I approve. Surprisingly I'm into every pairing on this show which doesn't happen often lmao. EwLiu are hilarious, IceKim are interesting and Nim and her gf are adorable lol like the cast is just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 and I know I'm gonna love Army and Joe too. Jojo is back at it again. that man always knows what he's doing lmao ✊🏻🫡
