OH BRO YOU’VE OPENED... A FLOODGATE i’m always down to talk jevan. i have sort of this.... looooonng concept of how their relationship changed as they’ve known each other based on like, the vague info i can absorb about the timeline on the wiki but i’m also that bitch that will ignore canon if necessary ... i analyze and then i cherry-pick LOL

BUT!! i envision the way it grows is like. evan, super macho tough guy, struggles with his sexuality a lot for sure (am i projecting? yes, leave me alone) as well as like, his place as a person in the group of them- jeff is the smart one, vinny is the leader, does evan go full comedic relief? does he go bodyguard meathead? where is his place! and then, of course, in high school it’s like yeah okay. who’s the hot one and who’s support. and his eyes like sloooooooowly slide over to jeff and he’s like awwww SH IT ...... 

definitely tries to push that shit down real nice and tight! not only is he not ready to accept that he’s bi, because that’s really hard especially for dudes, but he doesn’t want to acknowledge or feed the crush he has on his Best Friend. and he kinda acknowledges “yeah i’ve always been closer with jeff because i always felt like i’m competing with vinny- (based off the og channel being like- vinny is the everyman doing everything hes the star and evan, the strong fitness nut, is delegated to COOKING) -and jeff is introspective and understanding in a quiet way that compliments my loudness” and then THAT train of thought spirals out of control into sappy gay shit... 

it’s the slowest burn friends-to-lovers and the most heartbreaking shit is that like, in canon verse, it never happens it NEVER goes anywhere because jeff has jessa and evan finds steph (and evan still fucking LOVES steph she is his girl) and then Shit Happens™ but like. it’s always there. there is always a long look there is always that bond he feels strongest with jeff than anyone else in the world which makes :D / WAKE UP soooo much more painful!!!

i could literally talk for hours about my thoughts here but i will cut it off there for a hot second! i might rb this with more thoughts later bc i need a stress reliever rn lol... it’s sad if they end up together and it’s sad if they dont; the only good thing that comes out of it is jevan kiss in the candleverse! how many lifetimes have they gotten to be with each other if even only briefly! evan has two hands and both partners in the iteration waiting room ok i will not keep going but yknow
