Age Of Consent [part ten]

Summary: Dustin’s older sister thinks Eddie Munson could be a bad influence on her younger brother due to their history. Can he change her mind?

Pairing: Eddie Munson x Fem!Henderson!Reader

Word Count: 845

What you’ll find in this series: big angst, wholesome fluff, sexual content, drug use, tobacco use, alcohol use, and a lot of profanity. This is a slow burn- buckle up, buttercup.

A/N: First of all, thank you so much for loving this series and enjoying it about as much as I enjoyed writing it. Eddie makes it so easy. I can't believe it's officially over. Second, I am working on some other one-shots and currently drafting another series- but, I won't be posting that series until after July 1. That is because I don't want to start something and then not finish it because of events that may or may not happen in the finale.

"Are you nervous?" Dustin asked as you sprinkled a little extra spice into your mother's otherwise bland macaroni and cheese. You shrugged your shoulders and tasted the cheesy mixture, perfect.

It was Thanksgiving Day, and you had invited both Eddie and his uncle Wayne to your house for dinner. Dustin took it upon himself to also invite someone, Steve, after finding out that his parents went out of town and left him to watch the house.

"No," your little brother actually looked surprised at your response.

"No?" He asked, needing a little more clarification.

"She's going to love him," you returned with a smile. "Just like you and I do." You pulled the macaroni off of the stove and carried it over to the table to place it amongst the spread that you and your mother had worked so hard on. "And if he were here, I know Dad would have loved him, too."

"Yeah," Dustin looked down at the ground. "He would have."

"Hey," you placed a hand on his shoulder right as the doorbell rang. "He'll always be here with us, okay? You want to get the door or should I?"

"I'll get it!" You heard your mother say from the living room.

You and Dustin shared a wide-eyed look and you watched your mother waddle over to the front door. She opened it to reveal Eddie and Wayne standing on the front porch; Wayne was holding a store-bought cake in his hands and Eddie had a bouquet of flowers.

"Well, hello!" She beamed taking them both in, holding our her hand to Eddie. "You must be Eddie, Y/N has told me so much about you."

"Yes ma'am, hopefully, she told you the good things." He stepped into your foyer and took her hand in his, placing a small kiss on her knuckles. You could see your mother blushing from the other room. "Mrs. Henderson, this is my uncle Wayne."

"A pleasure to meet you, ma'am." Wayne also said, stepping in through the door. "Thank you for having us."

"Oh, it's a pleasure to have you both! Thank you for joining us! Please come on inside and make yourselves home!" She said merrily. "Is that Strawberry Shortcake?" Your mom asked glancing down at the cake in Wayne's hands. "How'd you know that was my favorite?"

Your mother and Wayne became engrossed in conversation, and you heard her mention something about how she was relieved to have another adult around and you rolled your eyes. You smiled at Eddie as he made his way through the living room over to you. He was beaming from ear to ear, unable to contain the absolute happiness that he was feeling at this very moment.

"These are for you, my girl." He held out the bouquet of flowers to you and you bit down on your lips to try and contain your own smile.

Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Dustin sticking his finger in his mouth and faking a gag. "Oh, don't even you twerp. You did this."

"Starting to regret it," he said as he plopped down on the couch.

You made your way into the kitchen with Eddie following close behind you. "I love you, thank you for coming," you said softly as you grabbed a vase for the flowers. "These are beautiful."

He wrapped his arms around you from behind and placed his chin on the top of your head. "You're beautiful," he said quietly into your hair. "Thank you for making me the happiest guy alive. You don't know how much I love you."

"I think I have an idea," you replied as you turned around to face him with a sly smile.

"Do you think she likes me?" He asked, eyes trailing over to your mother who was in deep conversation with Wayne.

"Did you not see her face turn as red as a tomato when you kissed her hand?" You asked laughing.

"Like mother like daughter," Eddie chimed, taking your hand and placing a kiss on your knuckles as well. You rolled your eyes and placed your hands on his face, pulling him down for an actual kiss.

The doorbell rang and Eddie's brows came together in confusion. "It's Steve," you mentioned.

"Harrington?"

You nodded.

"Thank God you're here," You heard Dustin say from the living room. "Y/N and Eddie have been making out for the last twenty minutes and I hate suffering alone."

"That's gross," Steve's voice replied. "I brought Robin because I, too, hate suffering alone."

"We can eat now, everyone," Dustin announced as he stepped into the kitchen.

Steve and Robin were close behind him. While Steve looked as anxious as ever, Robin, as always, looked excited and ready to talk the ear off of anyone who was willing to listen. They both gave a small wave over to you and Eddie as they too stepped into the kitchen.

"This is going to be fun!" You said excitedly before dragging Eddie over to the table and taking your seats.

after a while, steve, eddie and dustin start spending holidays together along with wayne and mrs henderson. mrs henderson is extremely confused by it at first, but then she sees how much eddie and steve love her son, how much they’re belong him grow and develop as a person, and suddenly steve and eddie have a new mom. she’s always fussing over them and telling them they don’t eat enough. she knits all of them jumpers, each with a different symbol on. eddie’s has a d20, dustin’s has a book and dustin convinces his mom to stitch a bat onto steve’s 😜

STOPPP oh my god no because Eddie would SO not be used to someone mothering him, she’d stop by to visit him and wayne and just start tidying up the trailer like moms do and Eddie would just scamper out of the way like a cat and try to hide the mess. This is hitting me right in the found family feels okay but also what if uncle wayne and Dustin’s mom started dating I SHIP IT idk they both seem lonely 😭 they’d all be family for real then

+ I just saw your ask about Steve, Eddie, and Dustin spending Holidays with Uncle Wayne and Ms. Henderson. I just have to say that yes I totally ship Wayne and Claudia! I have this headcanon that Dustin opens his home to Wayne after everything that happend and while Eddie is recovering in the hospital (cause hes alive). Wayne and Claudia start bonding. She seems like she's a lonely woman and Wayne is just so sweet. It works in my head. To top it off they get married and Dustin and Eddie become step brothers. The only one not "officially" family is Steve but I'm sure one day Eddie will change that - @eddie-harrington

+ Also, can you imagine Mrs Henderson just being the best mom figure to Steve and Eddie? Like Dustin’s really scared to tell her at first but she gets so happy because they spend so much time looking after /her/ son and make him so happy and she fully plays along that they’re his adopted dads and, especially in a joking way, like “don’t ask me, I just gave birth to you, ask your dads” - Anonymous

+ steve and eddie are initially worried that claudia will react poorly to them being gay, but after a few months of walking on eggshells around her, she walks in on them kissing and they can't quite spring apart fast enough. they're mortified, silently praying that she doesn't stop them from seeing dustin, but she just laughs at them and asks if they think she was born yesterday. she's known the whole time that they were together and she had no idea why they were trying to hide it from her. she tells them that there's nothing they could do (within reason ofc) that would make her stop caring for them after everything they've done for her dustybun - @steddieharrington

I like to imagine that after steve and eddie have been dating for a while, Steve gets them matching wedding rings. Obviously they can't get officially married cause that was illegal in 1989, but they still exchange matching rings anyway. It's a symbol of their love and once it goes on it never comes off 😌 I also feel like eddie would constantly admire his and take any opportunity to show it off, while steve would just get used to it super fast but be super uncomfortable whenever he's not wearing it. One time he puts it down to do the dishes and then freaks out when he can't find it after, then after that he never takes it off.

Wayne is making dinner one evening when a young fourteen year old Eddie runs home from school, bursts in and announces, “I just saw the prettiest boy I’ve ever seen in my life!”

The next day, he comes home dejectedly. “It’s Steve Harrington.” Wayne laughs out loud. “A Harrington? Good luck kid.” “I had to like the most popular boy...” “I’m sure there are other nice boys at school to like. What about Jonathan?” “EW NO! He’s my friend!”

Next day, comes home even more dejected. “I have a huge crush on Steve. This sucks.” “Oh no, what happened?” Long silence. “He smiled at me.” “BOY-”

The next day, Eddie is at his locker with Jonathan, in the middle of a long ramble. “I just don’t understand how someone can look that perfect. His hair? Perfect. His abs? Perfect. Even his ass is perfect! How can someone’s ass look that great?” He makes a grabbing gesture with his hands. “I just wanna...squeeze.”

Jonathan groans. “Dude. Can you just...not.” His face falls when he sees Steve standing behind Eddie, a bewildered look on his face.

“No, no, I'm just saying,” Eddie continues, oblivious. “Not a tight squeeze, just a light one-”

Jonathan smacks his arm. “Eddie-Eddie, stop talking!”

“-just to see what it feels like. Hey, can’t you see I’m trying to have a moment with my imagination! What do you want?” Jonathan points and Eddie turns around, coming face to face with Steve himself...and screams. He stands there, horrified, and panickily blurts out, “I was talking about...boobs.”

Steve’s brow furrows and he shrugs. “Okay, whatever.”

“What do you want?” Jonathan asks.

Steve ignores him, focused on Eddie. “Look, apparently my parents think I need a math tutor, so our teacher told me to go talk to you.” (Yes, Eddie is a little math whiz. At least he was in tenth grade.)

Realization dawns on Eddie. “Ah, you’re the one I’m tutoring in math.”

“Yeah, so if you want to go get this over with.”

“You want to study? With me? Now?”

“Well, yeah, we could study...” Steve begins, in that annoying voice he always uses when he wants to be persuasive. “Or...” Eddie’s eyebrows raise, brain running through all the possible things he could suggest, most of them unrealistic but very fun to imagine. “I could pay you $50 to do my math homework for me.” He grinned like it was the best deal in the world, but Eddie’s face quickly darkened. Here he was, in love with Steve and Steve just wants to use him for math homework. He was ready to tell him to shove his money up his ass, but then he thought of all the things he could buy with $50. Most notably - the beautiful guitar he saw in the music store window.

He turned back to Steve, glaring at him. “Fine,” he bit out, snatching the bill from his hand.

Eddie did do the math homework, and did it well as he always did, but hated every second of it. He considered doing all the questions wrong, but ultimately decided to just do them right and get it over with. For the guitar.

He walks up to Steve at his locker, where he is laughing with Tommy and Carol. “Hey,” he demands.

Steve turns around, looking at him like he’s wondering why he’s talking to him. “What?”

Eddie holds up the binder. “Here’s your math homework.” He drops it in Steve’s waiting hands. “You disgust me.” He double flips him off before walking away.

Later in math class, as the teacher hands Steve’s homework back to him and tells him “He’s really improving!”, and Steve turns to grin impudently at Eddie like he did all the work, Eddie flips him off once more. His crush on Steve Harrington is officially over. He is in his anti era now.

But he did buy the guitar, and he mounts it on his wall. A guitar...that was destined for an alternate dimension. A guitar for drawing away demobats, paid for by Steve, in a moment of sleaziness. (And yes, Eddie did tell Corroded Coffin that Steve was their biggest financier.)
