Hi, I just finished the AA trilogy with my bf and we fell in love with it! I found your blog the other day, and it sometimes feels like you're the only one giving correct takes on these characters' writing and the minutiae of everyone's inner worlds (or the fumbling of, see Godot).

I just got here, but, something that's been bothering me about the fandom's approach to the sequel trilogy is like... the imperialist undertones are glossed over, or swept under the rug. Researching "The Dark Age of the Law" and beyond puts a sour taste in my mouth. And with Khura'in the country vs Kurain the village? It all feels racist at best (the concept of the Divination Seance gives me squick). If you have the time, I'd love to hear your thoughts about AA5 and AA6 in relation to the world of AA as a whole. Thanks again for all of your thoughtful and nuanced takes on this series!

the tl;dr of it is that i do think they are genuinely bad enough additions to the franchise that they have signed mainline ace attorney's death warrant. picking out the dark age of the law stuff and aa5 and the imperialism in aa6 you've pretty much honed right in on my two biggest critiques

however i do want to say that although they're being bundled and sold as a 'second trilogy' that's not quite accurate either experientially when playing the games or from a development perspective. aa4 had scenario design/creative direction by series creator shu takumi, with the art director being kazuya nuri (responsible for character design for rise from the ashes in the series previous to this); aa5+6 was spearheaded by takeshi yamazaki, who had been with the franchise since its first game, with the slightly less tenured takuro fuse on art direction/character design. yamazaki and fuse are not without skill, but i think they're both significantly less skilled than takumi and nuri respectively and. it really shows.

pair that with the fact that aa5 and 6 fundamentally do not follow up on any of ace attorney 4's established characters or plots more than superficially, i don't think it's particularly useful to critique 4-5-6 as if they're a single body of work in the same way the trilogy is. apollo justice isn't a perfect* ace attorney game but it's a good one.

anyway i think buying into the 'dark age of the law' stuff in ace attorney 5 necessitates cheapening all of the events preceding it. the implication that 1. the law wasn't that bad before but it Is Now and 2. a single case was the tipping point for whether or not the entire legal system would be bad just ruins the times when ace attorney has managed to acknowledge corrupt systems as a massive source of problem for the everyman in the past

For starters, that phoenix quote. He would not fucking say that. I don't think there has ever been a point during or leading up to phoenix's career where he thought the legal system had 'glory' he would then want to restore it to. you seem to get it so im not gonna harp on this too much on this but. jesus christ

then, then there's fact that even by stating the most basic details about the franchise's events undermines the whole premise. like okay notice that the corruption that happens during the trilogy/investigations spinoffs is coming from all of the actual agencies that represent law and order/the system: the prosecutors, the police, and the prosecutorial investigation committee. however in aa5 the thing they choose to paint as responsible for supposedly unprecedented levels of corruption in the legal system is defense attorneys resorting to more drastic means, and the general public; aka not the people who are responsible for upholding the legal system but the people who are victimized by it and in opposition to it.

i don't think this was an intentional choice as much as it's just sloppy, inconsiderate, and contrived writing.

aa6 is just flat out racist. 'imperalist undertones' is i would say the gentlest way you could phrase it. like. japanese characters going to a made up south asian country that needs to be taught how to govern itself to quash its internal rebellion is like. so high on the yikes meter.

making a bunch of fake 'ethnic sounding' nonsense names filled with apostrophes to make them into silly sounding english phrasing was a disastrously tone deaf thing for the localization to do. they're really unforgivable. the worst of it all is probably "Inga Karkhuul Haw'kohd Dis'nahm Bi'ahni Lawga Ormo Pohmpus Da'nit Ar'edi Iz Khura'in III" i'm unsure if the names are quite as offensive in the original japanese because i haven't looked too much into what they actually are and have a really limited knowledge of the language. but. this name in japanese is "インガ・カルクール・ククルーラ・ラルバン・ギジール・ホフダラン・マダラ・ヴィラ・ヤシマ・ジャクティエール・クライン３世" which is written in katakana. katakana is, in contrast to kanji and hiragana which are used for writing japanese, used to phoenetically transcribe foreign languages or to write loan words. so the foreign-ness of this character is being emphasized here in the original text as well.

the supposed cultural inferiority of the khurainese people is baked into the game at pretty much every level, down to the gags. khura'in has the 'plumed punisher' show, which is actively criticized by the characters in game for just being a cheap ripoff of the steel samurai. they don't even get to have their own tv.

i believe the reason the racism is pretty much glossed over a lot in the fandom is for several reasons. for starters, ace attorney fans overall tend to fall into three camps: 1. people like me who fucking hate these games, refuse to acknowledge them, and would retcon them out of existence if possible. 2. people who have found things they like about the game and have a Good Version of the characters and plots that they have constructed in their head and 3. people who view all of the hate on these games as completely overblown

the first camp Does talk about how the game is racist but we're all already in agreement about that so it's kind of preaching to the choir and a bit redundant to keep going on about. the second camp tends to acknowledge the stickier aspects of the game but focuses on making content around the elements they like rather than critique. the third camp is the type to throw the baby out with the bathwater re: critiquing a thing they like. it's all haterism to them. but either way i think its kind of fucked up how many people will be like 'aa6 isnt that bad you guys are just mean' without even acknowledging these complaints.

anyway the khura'in country vs kurain village thing is really weird to me it shows both a lack of imagination and a disregard for the series' own established lore. why would a girl from a village where almost everyone is a spirit medium need to go to a place where only, like, two people are mediums to train.

i will say though that the divination seance is kind of one of the only things i found about aa6 to be an interesting addition. for a franchise with ghost summoning and murder solving, the two have a kind of hilariously low amount of overlap so i found the idea of bringing ghost bullshit into court really fun. mechanically speaking, the divination seances also felt a LOT better to play than the mood matrix segments of aa5.

in general, i think the biggest weakness of the mainline franchise under takeshi yamazaki's stewardship is its misunderstanding of stakes. both aa5 and 6 prioritize more bombastic and impressive on paper material stakes. oh no! the ENTIRE JUSTICE SYSTEM BEING GOOD OR BAD depends on this one case! on no! we have to DEAL WITH REBEL INSURGENTS! complete horseshit when there is not competent and functional enough character writing to get us emotionally invested here. yamazaki seems to think bigger is better, and that just simply isnt true for something like ace attorney

i've pointed this out in the past when critiquing aa5 and 6 but if you look at the actual material stakes on the line in ace attorney, they're at their highest after rise from the ashes. ousting the corrupt chief of police is the most impressive and impactful thing phoenix does with his career (arguably until the jurist system, but definitely in the trilogy.) but that's not the big Finale case for his character arc. his finale case is defending his college girlfriend; a nun who lives in the mountains, whose conviction would have had zero implications on the larger fabric of ace attorney's legal system. because takumi's writing clearly shows that he understands what makes a plot impactful is the emotional stakes the characters have invested in the events.

before taking over the main franchise, takeshi yamazaki was responsible for the miles edgeworth investigations spinoffs. i do enjoy both of those games - aai2 in particular is really strong. yamazaki does a great job with edgeworth's character arc even if i have some specific gripes with the duologys writing. i think theyre solid additions to the franchise. but you can see traces of this sort of misalignment in narrative priorities here as well. for example, the last case in aai1 is notorious for still going on for, like, an entire hour or two past the time when the last remaining plot point we care about has been revealed. because yamazaki seemingly had no understanding that That was the thing the case should have been about, and that should have been the final mic drop of the game. it just keeps going! he didn't know the game was done and he added a bunch more bullshit busywork after it that no one likes!

so yeah. without going into anything even as specific as how individual plotlines or character arcs were mishandled in aa5/6 that's really my overview What Went Wrong of those games.

usually it's ace trying to play a prank on him, get revenge on him

but stitch is way too clever, and always manages to shift all the blame onto ace

ace can try all his might to convince us, but his acting skills are way too flashy to be realistic

just look at those big innocent eyes! how could you accuse him like that, ace!

all the while stitch is just on your shoulder, smirking at ace

though there are times when these two team up, particularly when they're trying to prank other people

riddle and deuce get pranked... a lot

usually it's stitch either playing cute, or messing around to create a distraction for ace

they're a powerful team these two T_T

"Hey prefect! Have a little faith in me, okay?!" Ace says, his eyes wide in disbelief. "It really wasn't me, it was Stitch!" he points towards Stitch, sitting comfortably on your shoulder. You shift your gaze to Stitch, and he tilts his head innocently.

Raising an eyebrow, you look back at Ace.

"Argh! You're getting tricked by him again!"

"Haka taba, ika patootie!" your familiar exclaims.

these two get along pretty well!

stitch really admires deuce for trying his best, even if his efforts aren't always visible

it reminds him of himself, so he's always enthusaistic about helping deuce when he struggles!

though... deuce is pretty much fooled by stitch's cuteness most of the time, so he still gets pranked by stitch

only deuce usually doesn't realise stitch was the culprit, and even if he does, he just ends up laughing good-heartedly

they're like the sweet elder brother and the genius little brother omg

"Hm? Oh, hi Stitch," Deuce acknowledges quietly, his gaze fixed on the textbook, unfazed by Stitch's arrival on the adjacent seat. Stitch makes a questioning sound, and only then does Deuce turn to face him.

"Oh, I'm trying to figure this question here," he points to the page. "I just can't get my head around it... How did they get that answer...."

Stitch peers at the page for a moment, then reaches for Deuce's pen, swiftly scribbling away at a scrap piece of paper. Once he's done, he holds it up for Deuce to see.

"Wha-? Wait.. you solved it??" Deuce mumbles. His eyes scan over the page as a sudden realization dawning in his eyes. "So that's how you do it...! Thanks Stitch!" he says as he pulls Stitch in for a hug.

Before Jack can even finish his sentence, the bookshelf quickly moves to the other side of the room in a blur of blue, exactly where you wanted it.

"Pitcha! Stitch! Strong! Ahahahaha!" Stitch cackles, rolling on the floor with laughter.

You feel Jack tense up beside you. "Grrrr... Are you tryin' to show off??" he growls. He turned to you, determination evident in his eyes, "Prefect! What else would you like to move? Leave it to me!"

epel has a lot to learn from stitch!

anyone with a keen eye can tell stitch is really good at fooling other people with his cute appearance

and many times, he can use it to his advantage! mostly from you, lilia, and floyd who cannot resist the cute and fluffy

the poison apple is always observing stitch to see how he can use his features as his weapon

and stitch very glady teaches epel in alien talk but we've got body language, because epel always brings delicious apple snacks for him!

so you always find epel listening attentively while stitch does some dramatic recreation of a scenario

Perched on a cushion, Stitch begins to act out a scene, the crumbs of apple pie still lingering on his face.

"Uhh... some bad guy caught you in his arms?"

Stitch vigorously nods, then switches to a puppy dog face and executes a jump-kick in the air.

"You acted cute... and then you managed to kick him?"

Stitch nods again, transitioning between a sweet, innocent expression and a fierce, growling one.

"Ahhh... So you shifted between being cute to catch them off guard..." Epel hums thoughtfully. "That's really smart Stitch!"

Proud, Stitch beams, "Stitch! El kiyotay!"

in the same vein that ortho is a sweet kid who has a mischevious side, he gets along really well with stitch!

he loves how affectionate stitch can be with hugs, and also finds it funny how he can lose his temper very easily

he's also fascinated with the alien stuff, after all, stitch's existence proves there are extraterrestrial beings! he loves expanding on his database

the two of them also love building tiny gadgets out of whatever scraps they find, it's like a competition to see who can come up with a more useful gadget

not to mention, his big bro is dying to meet stitch! a cute alien dog who loves climbing onto other people's shoulders? sign him up!

but his social energy can't... so it's up to ortho to get more interactions with stitch!

"You're so cool Stitch!" Ortho laughs as he takes in the sandcastel Stitch built in seconds. "Idia would be so impressed..."

Stitch makes a inquisitive sound, prompting Ortho to explain, "Oh, Idia is my big brother! He'd absolutely be amazed by you, but he's too shy to make new friends," Ortho pouts.

Stitch tilts his head and asks, "Ohana?"

"Ohana?" Ortho repeats. "You've said that before... it means family right? Yeah, Idia is my Ohana."

"Goobaja! Meet! Ohana!" he exclaims.

(Let's go!)

"You want to meet my big bro?" Ortho asks. Seeing Stitch's enthusiasm, Ortho laughs again, "Hmm... alright then, let's go see him now!"

oh boy... these two should not be in the same room together

it all started when sebek was looking for malleus during one of malleus' late night ramshackle visits

and though malleus was endeared by how unstartled stitch was to just casually climb onto his shoulder, sebek certainly was not

"HOW DARE THE CREATURE CLIMB ONTO MY LIEGE'S SHOULDER!!!"

of course, first impressions really do matter, so whenever the two of them see each other...

they hiss at each other. both of them.

though sebek will behave if lilia or malleus are present, but the silence vanquishes almost immediately when they're gone

he will be impressed by stitch's physical strength and speed, just in a more condescending way as compared to jack

"Sebek. isn't it amazing how strong Stitch is? He lifted so many logs at once!" Lilia exclaims admiringly, while Stitch grins smugly.

"Yes., Lilia... It certainly is impressive..." Sebek mumbles, shifting his gaze to a glare directed at Stitch. "...for a creature of such moderate stature,"

Stitch, in turn, growls ferociously back at Sebek. "Meega, nala kweesta!"

"Oh dear..." Lilia sighs. "Young people these days are always so eager to get into fights,"

honestly, stitch finds grim amusing

but stitch is still a sweetheart sometimes, and will be nice/help grim whenever he can

"Hench-man!" Grim exclaims as he jumps up and down. "Why does that guy get to sit on your shoulder? It's not fair~"

"Grim, didn't you complain when I carried you last time?" you ask.

Grim freezes for a moment. "Well... uh... That's different! I wanna see from high up too!"

Stitch laughs at his response, "Wahaha! Toga meega patookie!"

(Kiss my butt)

"Henchman~" Grim whines.

Sighing, you pick Grim up and have him sit on the other shoulder. Oh, the woes of having two 'familiars'.

there was an update you know the drill. time to go nuts with each pannel.

I LOVE HOW IN THE FIRST PAGE WE DIRECTLY GET HIT WITH SO MANY EMOTIONS FROM EVERY ONE OF THE BOYS.

Wild with the realisation that he didnt finish this all, not yet. Theres still danger, the same thing that almost killed his brother is still breathing and can if it wants to do the same with the rest of his newfound family

Twilight i feel like is almost the same as Wild, but for other reasons. The Shadow almost took his life, and after he thought that it was finally dead, boom. That thing is still out there and maybe is gonna be around for some more time.

He wants to believe that theres something else also opening the gates, that the Shadow is really dead and it's just another weird monster who opened the one that Sky saw

Hyrule confirms it, and reminds Twi that no, the damn thing is still out there and will go in a hunting game with each one of them.

Wild realised his mistake, he didn't kill it, he destroyed it's defenses. What if he stayed and searched for every piece of the Shadow and destroy it? They will be having this same conversation? He hopes to at least for it to happend in another time

Wind got a point here, if youre not sure of all it's tricks it looked like it was finally dead. Wild and any of them would have never guessed if it was the end or not. Not even Time

side note but

Wild looks so sad here, no not sad. Guilty is the word. He feels like he failed, again. If he thought more what to do maybe his brothers will not be in danger

OKAY I WANT TO STOP IN HERE FOR JUST A SEC.

I know it is maybe something without importance, but the fact that Four is the one who we are focused, how he looks like he's carefull listening Wild's words of auto-inflicted guilt. He looks like hes thinking the statement carefully, Wild didn't failed shit, it wasnt his faoult that they were trapped in this whole mess across time, and Four knows it.

We are stopping being serious for a moment just to admire this. theyre confused. thinking. out of context even. idk. i love this specific pannel. theyre such a mood.

we need to stop a second more because goddamn it this pannel slaps

The representation of Time being surronded by the choice of help his descendant or kill the thing that hurted him in the first place, he's just a man who got throught a lot, and even after all thta he's still trapped in this choosing what to do (both options will have consquences) thing

and here we got more of Wars being the traditional paramedic of the group! I remember a person saying that yeah Hyrule can heal people with magic, but Warriors participated in a war, so he knows basic treathening and i think thats so perfect and true for his character

theyre still processing the fact that Twilight and Wolfie are the same, it haven't been discussed properly since Twi woke up, and i think it will be in a future when everyone is more settled down

this man doesn't regret the danger he put himself under, he knows it was for the safety of his brothers and to stop this madness

also he was tired of it running like a total coward from them, if it was going to kill them at least it shouldn't run from what it started!

oh no. he caught you Twi. now you will suffer the consequences of putting yourself in danger so many times with them not knowing

oh four. You really know what youre saying

youre the one who know the most that theyre doing better than it could

if this means that theyre finally using all their items im so in for the whole chaos that it would bring in the fights

Legend has a shit ton of items and weapons, mostly inclined to magic, i need to see that.

i remembered something

Jojo said that Hyrule will have more importance in the future, if this means something... Oh shit

im not highing up my expectations, but i know that we will see his enemies sooner than we expect

and that will not end up well for the ones who don't know how to manage them

this background, no words. 10/10.

These two pannels killed me

Time is directly watching his descendant, and Twilight knows well why. He doesn't blames him, he knows that he scared them all to death. He doesn't want to go throught that with one of them too

this confirms that Sky can sense what makes Fi react, he can feel when she's upset with something, maybe he felt the anger when Twi got hurt, her fury whne she couldn't defend him. That's her duty right? Protect and serve her masters

sky i love you this was so unserious and out of place such a perfect ending of update

actium update sunday

yeah it's been a hot minute since I did this!! Actium has currently released 112 pages (not including covers and other illustrations), which mostly shows poor pacing and a lack of experience on my end lol, but is also an accomplishment! i am almost done with chap 3, i just have one more update to release for that... which is unfortunately in the sketching phase still. whoops.

speaking of massive page counts being a symptom of poor planning lol, i am currently rewriting a lot of the future chapters i have planned, with special attention to chap 4. chap 4 introduces the main conflict that every character going forward will be competing for, and so i need to make sure it's solid, that i have no possible questions or vagueness about it. other than that, i'm rescripting a lot of things, cutting down on page counts and learning to use my panels more effectively. this is something that i will continue to get better and better at the more i do it, so i'm okay with the fact that it will probably change in the future as well.

to be completely honest, i was really throwing myself into a wall trying to rewrite, just getting stuck because i was so attached to certain sequences and ideas. i've finally gotten over that, and a part of that was changing the way i thought about actium's story structure! actium was always going to have three acts, but my problem was that i was looking at them as three acts of one "book," so to speak, and thus the structure wasn't really working. actium is big, it has a lot of ground to cover (a lot that i should cut probably lol), and thus the 3 act structure was leaving me treading water in some places... so i just changed it from 3 "acts" to three "books"! Thinking of actium as a trilogy honestly helped me slot a lot of my puzzle pieces into place? no idea why, but it's given me a clearer idea of that i want to accomplish going forward. it will all be released under one account and such, i'm not splitting it up other than mentally.

actium was always going to be an amateur passion project, something i love and embrace. it will show my flaws as a writer and artist (to an almost unbearable degree lol), but the only way for me to ever do or get better at anything is to dive in head first. I've learned a lot already from these 112 pages, and I know that it will just continue to get better and better as I go on. but, of course, making sure that my foundation is solid and fixing up my outline now will really help with that.

in terms of uploading, it will happen when it happens lol. im job hunting for a second job unfortunately rn, so my time will just be what it is. i might start uploading just the lined uncolored pages on patreon when i finish them, or i'll just put all my pages on patreon until i have enough of a chapter's backlog to start releasing them publicly. in terms of the website, it is still down, i just need to dedicate the time to rebuilding it off of wix, and i've been more focused on creating the actual pages to learn neocities or wherever i'm gonna host it. it's all very messy lol

oh i should give my thoughts on Final Draft since i finally finished it. spoilers below

so the ONLY thing i didn't like was that there wasnt a lot of new manuscripts or videos to find. i probably missed a couple pages because i didnt look around as much, but i am sad that the 3rd Darling video is gonna be for the Lake House and the 2nd Door video is gonna be for Night Springs. i dont mind waiting to see them but i wish the collectibles menu didnt list it as incomplete cause its not even in the game yet. but i'll gladly wait to see them.

okay on to actual thoughts.

finding the dark poems on the surface world was a big splash of whiplash, and i liked how they were placed throughout the game, especially with the order of how i switch realities, it felt perfect.

the beginning with Saga telling Casey that she used to be into geology and she helped Logan with a science fair project, but basically did it for her and Casey going "oh thats basically a CRIME, Anderson". that was adorable. i love their dynamic so much it hurts.

ALSO IM SO HAPPY THEY PUT IN THE LINES FOR THE SALT SHAKER MEMORY. i'll come clean and say i've heard the audio before from when my boyfriend went through the files, but it made me so happy to hear it in-game. Casey is so fucking cute. and the fact that Saga notes that Casey doesn't joke around with literally anyone else, showing that he trusts Saga so much. i love this man i love him i love him i need to nibble on him like a dog nibbles on a plush toy

Darling's videos were very fun to watch. i loved that he didn't really care that he was trapped in the Dark Place because to him it was just a new thing to research and make experiments with. i'm assuming after he realized Alan sounded like him that he tried not to think about too much at first, but that's definitely going to be something that fucks with his brain later

Darling and Zane fucked for sure im convinced of that. if i had to pair any other characters together besides Saga and Casey then it's Darling and Zane. fucking Zane saying Kippis as he takes a drink with him too. i'm killing this man. theres apparently a theory that they both created Alan and that's why he looks like Zane but sounds like Darling. if thats true, then Sam Lake is a fucking genius for making it that a brilliant artist and an advanced scientist made the stupidest writer son on the planet and it somehow worked. at least the one thing they have in common is all three of them deep down have selfish bastard tendencies.

but even if Alan's a bastard he loves Alice so so so fucking much and it was literally their love and memories of each other that brought them back together along with Saga putting some sense into him to actually think about others, not just him and Alice. i hope Alice is doing okay and that she got to be reunited with Alan as soon as possible.

Tor and Odin showing up in the Dark Place was adorable, and im so happy that apparently they're fine with Door now, after what happened in '88. i'm assuming what brought them to finally come to an agreement was that they wanted what was best for Saga and Alan. i hope Logan and David get to meet Tor and Odin at some point in-canon, even if its off screen. i'm still curious on what's gonna happen the next time Alan and Door meet, or when that's even gonna happen, but i guess that's either gonna be in the DLCs or even in Control 2. i also hope Tim gets out and gets to finally be face-to-face to Door, which is probably also gonna happen in either DLC or Control 2.

finally the ending. i thought it was perfect. i've seen people say it was too easy and that there shouldve been more ambiguity. i'll be honest, i think the ending is a perfect blend of closure and opened interpretation. Alan finally got out and Logan is alive now, which is wonderful, but now it's the question of what's happening outside the writer's room. what's going on at the Lake House? why did the FBC go dark? did Tim get out? are Saga and Casey now going to be dragged into the FBC full-time because Kiran deputized them?

we also still don't know what happened to Darling after meeting with Tom [at least i havent cause i refuse to watch the leaked third video]. is Darling gonna be able to figure out his way through the Dark Place? is he gonna get the chance to meet Door and Tim? is he gonna indirectly cause Jesse or Dylan or both of them to go into the Dark Place in Control 2? is Darling being the Dark Place a good thing at all? does he ever figure out how he ended up there after trying to stop the Hiss? is he aware that Trench is gone and Jesse is the new Director?

i think the most the ending does is just show that Alan's part in the RCU is MOSTLY done, at least for now. to me this looks like a chance for him to show up more often in other things and to maybe help with what's happening at the FBC. the most i hope for him at the moment is he meets up with Alice again, and ESPECIALLY meets up with Barry, though i hope the Blessed organization haven't done anything to him, which is another thing that i hope gets touched on.

First impression: FUCK that guy. CANNOT STAND HIS ASS. bro he killed my wife and kidnapped my child!!! the fucking plague is worse because of him!! OUR STATE'S INTELLIGENCE AGENCY PUT A TYRANT ON THE THRONE BECAUSE OF THIS GUY i am killing him the second i see him. on fucking sight. 0 mercy. kill kill murder kill (and i did. did not even let him finish the speech, just immediate "fuck you and die". i remember having discussed this with friends at the time and everyone being like "yeah no way that motherfucker gets to live, what the hell" LMAO)

Impression now: oh how the turn tables! um. im very normal about him. i have a normal amount of thoughts. it takes like centuries to get to the core of whatever the fuck his deal is. despite appearances, he operates internally from a collective "we" and doesn't know what to do with himself when it's gone. he very much tears himself apart but not in a tortured angsty way because he's totally fine and normal ok. grit teeth and push through survival attitude. more pretentious than he lets on, perhaps. he has so many fucking issues and he acknowledges 0 of them. saviour of orphans maker of orphans a frog in a boiling pot a cynically willing pawn a man of practicalities the shadow the heel the knife you already know all this

Favorite moment: excellent question! the most memorable things for me i think are the little first person cutscenes in the dlcs- him waking up (and potentially almost decapitating a whaler), putting on the overseer mask, interrogating the brigmore witch... and- i've talked about this before- i really like moments of him being very casually cruel. because that sort of thing comes so easy to him.

Idea for a story: ......my brainrot document which is pretty much just tiny ideas and snippets is currently 25 pages long and literally all of them save for a few involve daud. and that's not at all counting the offshoots in separate documents that are on their way to becoming actual fics. so yeah, idea for a story is right

Unpopular opinion: this is always a tough question to answer because i dont want to imply i know anything about what opinions are popular. but i guess. i slightly prefer high chaos Murder Enjoyer absolute bastard daud, and it takes me slightly more effort to get into low chaos grief stricken change of heart daud. i think the latter needs to be handled with a certain finesse (that i personally for instance lack LMAO)

yeah actually, had a fic taken once by someone who was habitually translating fics into a different language & posting them without acknowledging the original. i think they got reported but i don't really remember who it shook out!

desc ! the night before bob leaves feels a little bitter sweet, but you know that no matter what, you'll be seeing him again.

By the time you make it back outside, Jake’s standing by your mom as dinner is plated out. Bob plants a soft kiss on your lips before slipping into the crowd and waving hello to a friend while he scoops up Molly in his arms. You laugh softly, turning to go grab a drink when Jake presses a hand to your shoulder.

“Can I steal you for a moment?” He whispers and you nod, letting him pull you off to the side, behind the bar. He immediately asks, "did anyone find a ring while cleaning up the barn?"

"A ring? Yeah, we gave it to my mom." You say and Jake grabs your shoulders, gentle but firm as he turns you to look at him fully, his green eyes staring into yours deeply.

"Listen to me before you freak out, okay?" Jake says softly, glancing from side to side before he speaks again, "Mike came here with the plan of trying to get you to marry him. He said if you said no, he'd find a way to get you."

You scoff, though the idea of Mike trying to get to you makes your chest tighten and heart pound, "Why would he think I'd say yes? He's an idiot."

"I don't know, Rhinestone, but listen, okay? I want you to come to California with us." Jake almost bites his lips, as if expecting you to explode, but you just blink at him.

"Wait, what?"

"You need to come with us, I already talked to your mom and she said it was okay, and I can get you on our plane--" Jake's eyes a wider than usual, clear panic in his tone, but for some reason, you don't seem to pick up on it.

"Jake, wait, I can't go. I have to train for the Open." You laugh under your breath, a weird sort of self-soothing feeling clouding your thoughts for a second before you shake it away to think instead of ignoring what was going on, "I have to train my students, and I'd have to talk to my boss. Jake, I can't just go now."

"But Mike--" Jake urges and your chest tightens, fear taking hold as you start to subconsciously realize just what Jake's saying. Mike wants to come and get you. To hurt you, or something along those lines. But you also have things here you need to do, the Open is something you've been dreaming of doing, and how are you supposed to do all that without your horse?

"I'll get a gun, or something, I'll do what I have to but I can't come with you guys. I have shit to do here, I have a life here!" You shout, as the cloud of glaring at Jake, "I'll figure it out, but I'm not leaving."

"No! Rhinestone-!"

"Why are you two yelling over here?" Bob asks, a drink in hand as he passes one to you, "Is everything okay?"

"It's fine, Rob." You sigh waving a hand at him while you go and take a swig of your drink. It's just the drink you would've made yourself, and you wonder how he knows it. Jake scoffs immediately after you speak, waving a hand in shock, though making sure to keep his movement away from you.

"No! We aren't sweeping this under the rug are you crazy?" He snaps and you huff, knowing you're kinda acting immature and downplaying it, but they leave tomorrow, and who are you to worry them?

"We are," You take a long swig of your drink, "Because I'm not coming to California."

"Woah Woah Woah, can we slow down?" Bob holds a hand out, "Why is she coming to Cali?"

Jake crosses his arms, staring you down with a tinge of annoyance in his gaze, "Because Mile's a fucking lunatic. And I don't trust him to not drive his ass back here and hurt her."

"I have to train for the Open!" You groan, bringing a hand to your head, "Mike’s a lunatic for thinking he was even gonna get me to marry his ass! I'm not fucking arguing this right now with you. Let's just enjoy the party, and deal with it tomorrow before you leave."

“He wanted to marry you?” Bob whispers, “What..? But he’d put his hands on you like that?”

"I don't know, I don't think Mike has a single thought in his head." you sigh softly, "But, I promise you that nothing will happen. I'll stay home through the open, maybe move back into my Mom's house or something? I'll get a gun, I'll do what I need to."

"Are you sure you'll be fine?" Jake asks and Bob turns, nodding his head at Jake and then to you and blinking softly. You sigh, nodding.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll figure it out, and I'm sure my family and Robby's family will help me out as much as needed. They hate Mike more than I do."

"I trust them, and I trust you." Bob murmurs, gently crossing his arms, "I'm gonna be honest, Darlin', I'd feel better if you came with us... but I understand needin' to stay back for the open. I just don't want something to happen."

"I know, Robby. Look, the Open's in a month. I'll train and as soon as I'm done I'll come right to California. I'll talk to my parents about Genevieve, and I'll just... I don't know, keep tabs on him as best I can, okay?" You move to hug him, placing your head right under his collarbone. He doesn't hesitate to plant a kiss on your hairline and wrap you tightly in his arms.

"You call me at the first sign of trouble, you hear me?" He whispers, "Please."

"I will. I promise." You murmur and Bob leans forward to gently press his lips to yours, molding in perfectly.

"You're gonna be the death of me, Floyd." You murmur when the kiss pulls back, but something shifting behind you makes you remember the fact that Jake’s only a few feet from you. You blink, noticing the way his eyebrows knit together in confusion.

“Jake?”

"You’re fucking?” He gapes and before you go to sputter out a shush to him he groans and dramatically sloshes his drink, “I owe Phoenix a hundred dollars! Fuck!”

“Never bet with me, Bags!” Phoenix calls from a distance, and then all the pilots realize what was entailed by those two conversations and start whistling.

Bob realizes before you do.

“Oh my fucking god! you had a bet we were gonna get together?!” He groans and you nearly spit out your drink at the realization.

“Are we like a thing?”

“We’ve had sex twice, and all the other shit, so yeah, I think so?”

Jake laughs, head tossed back against the bar and you groan as you bury your head in Bob's shoulder. He laughs softly, wrapping his arms tightly around your frame and kissing your head again. Across the way, Bob catches Asher's eye and the latter gives him a small nod, almost like approval. Bob nods back a promise to keep you safe, completely unspokenly fixing the fear in your brother's heart.

Majority of those not sleeping over that night part by eleven, the rest splitting off around one. The daggers, plus you, decide that you're gonna end up being up at four in the morning anyway, so what would three more hours of awakeness hurt? You all end up in the pool, the 'elders' lounging in the shallow end while the rest of you idly float around the deep end and roughhouse a bit every few minutes. Eventually, people start to break off to shower and pack to leave for the night, and Bob's one of the first claiming he's got a lot of things to do. The group, at first, keeps him in the pool with drinks and conversation until he finally manages to get out.

Though, you snag him for one last kiss before he goes and then float idly along the pool walls as Tom Petty fades out on the radio as Bob walks down the trail to your house.

"You," Jake sneers, "Motherfucking bitch. You didn't tell me you were dating?!"

People started laughing, Fanboy laughing so hard he had to put his head down on the side of the pool and calm himself down. The rest of the pilots laughed along, and you chuckled as you rolled your eyes and downed the rest of your drink.

"I don't think we're like, super serious," You said, "But I think that'll change when I get to California."

"Oh, when will you be joining us in good ol' Fightertown, Rhinestone?" Rooster calls, kicking the wall so his float drifted over to you and Jake's floats. Phoenix kicked him back, giggling when he groaned, as Halo fist-bumped her as she sat next to Phoenix on the side of the pool.

"Well, The Open is three days before Bob's birthday. I'll probably fly down after driving back from Virginia with Fuego." You hum, drumming your fingers along the side of the pool and blinking up at the stars, "Maybe I'll surprise him for his birthday."

"Oh!" Fanboy perks up, "Oh! We are so surprising him for his birthday, Coyote and Halo, you're helping me plan this, right?"

"Oh hell yeah." Halo raises her drink, "as long as Coyote lets me actually plan this time."

The two immediately start to argue and you laugh, turning your head to Jake who shrugs at them and splashes water their way, and the squawk Coyote lets out makes everyone laugh aloud. A few people leave the pool around this time, and

"Thanks for showing us a different side of Bob," Fanboy calls as he hops into the pool behind Jake and you shrugged.

"That's the Bob I know."

“You’ll see the Bob we know if you get on base,” Fanboy says, idly floating back over and swatting a mosquito away idly. And after about an hour, you're turning off the lights in the outdoor pool area before making your way to your small house in the back of the property. Making your way inside, and climbing up your temporary ladder, you see Bob finishing up packing in grey sweats and no shirt.

"A sight for sore eyes." You chime, giggling to yourself as you walked over to your dresser and picked out an oversized shirt and a pair of tiny shorts to sleep in. As usual.

"As are you." He hums, coming up behind you and planting a soft kiss on your jaw as he rocks you from side to side in the dim light of your small cozy bedroom, "I love you."

"Never stop saying that." You sigh, "I love you too, Robby. I love you so much, thank you for loving me, and trusting me."

"Thank you for giving me another chance, darlin'." He chuckles his response, watching as you turn around and press your hands to his chest as you smile at him and the feeling of his arms tight around your back.

"I dunno if you would've given me another choice, you were real willin' to give it all for me." You tease, and despite your smile, Bob's face hardens just a bit. It wouldn't be noticeable to anyone but you or his mom, but it makes you falter.

"If you told me no sternly, I'd walked away." He hums, bringing one hand up to cup your face, "I'm not Mike, and I'm not gonna let anyone love you as he did. No one is ever gonna put their hands on you like that again, darlin'."

You pause, blinking back the tears in your eyes before pulling him into a soft kiss. He blinks into it, then sighs softly as you slowly pull back, "You're the only man I wanna love."

"Good." He squeezes your hips, then teasingly pops the side of his hand against your butt with a chuckle, "cause I don't want anyone else to have you."

"Now, lemme shower and do all my bedtime things before we can lay down." You smile and he nods, peppering a few kisses across your cheeks before you slip into the attached bathroom and do what you need to do. When you get back into your bedroom, Bob's laying down and texting on his phone. He perks up when you lay down beside him and bury yourself in the blankets as the fan rolls air across your room.

"How much longer until you leave?" You ask, nudging your face against his shoulder and blinking up at him. He smiles, kissing your hairline as he plops his phone down and watches you look up at him.

"Two hours." He rubs your arm, turning and kissing your head again, "I don't wanna leave you."

You sigh, "I know, honey. But hey, it won't be too long until I see you again. I'll be in California sometime after The Open, and we can just... live. No Mike, no stupid siblings, just us. And the Navy I guess."

"And the Navy." He laughs softly, letting you roll so you're practically on top of him. His arms wrap tightly around you and he peppers kisses along your skin. You lay there, letting him just gently kiss your skin and murmur compliments along your skin. Trying your hardest to not fall asleep, you blink slowly and grunt with agitation when you realize you can't stay awake as well as you want to.

"Go to sleep, alright? I'll wake you up before I leave." He murmurs, "I have a gift for you anyways, and I wanna say goodbye."

And despite you saying you won't, Bob watches as your eyes slip shut and your cheek smushes against his chest and he smiles as he adjusts the both of you until you're comfortable and then idly scrolls on his phone to pass the time. The sounds of the fan idly vibrating as it runs and your soft snores being his only company.

When his alarm to get ready to leave goes off, he shakes your shoulder softly. After a few grunts and complaints from you, he manages to get you to blearily wake up with the promise of his aforementioned gift. You rub your eyes and lazily sit up and yawn slowly as he pops his bag down and rustles through it before handing you something small and metal. The cold, rough feeling against your hands makes your eyes widen as you look at your hands.

"Dogtags?" you ask and Bob nods, sitting on the edge of the bed next to you, and shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly as he takes the chain and unclasps it before lifting the tags up.

"I want you to have something to remember me by, Y/n... they accidentally gave me a second pair of dog tags during boot camp and I had to just live with it. I guess I was meant to give these to you, and..." He clips the chain on your neck and settles the dog tags between your collarbones. You blink up at him, trying to not burst into tears as you watch Bob's eyebrows lift up in an upset look.

"Robby..?"

"No matter what happens to us I want you to have these because I love you more than I love breathing. I love you more than this job, my friends, or my entire livelihood. And I need you to have this because this.." he taps the metal, "This is me. And if you have it, I'm with you just like you're with me in the jet as that old ass photo."

"You have your own, right? In case something happens..?" You whisper and he nods, gently bringing his hands to your face and kissing your lips so softly, so tenderly that you wish you could hold him there forever.

"I love you." He whispers, "You hung the stars for me, and if you asked I'd lay down everything I know for you."

"That's a bit excessive." You tease, kissing him once more and his laugh makes your heart light up because who knew that you'd have this only a few days ago?

"Maybe." He shrugs with a dopey, half-awake smile, "but that's love."

"That's love." You agree, and when Jake comes to get Bob a few minutes later, he doesn't comment on the dog tags. None of the pilots do when you wish them all goodbye.

And you look into flights from Georgia to California and buy some silicone silencers after practice one day because god those things fucking click like mad. And Bob calls you every night, and sometimes the other pilots are there and when you miss him, all you have to do is put your hand over your chest where the dog tags are and everything feels alright again.

New Rome, maybe? Working on a map, Sobbing in the back rooms-

Summary; I lie about talking about anything of substance, and am thinking about starting a companion in character blog, I’m caving on my plushie obsession, I lie about what I’m gonna post about because it’s gonna be Dakota or the Dionysus twins

I’m tired and slightly unhinged while writing this, but so far I’ve made a total of 5 maps roughly, of various designs of Camp Jupiter. I still have to actually uh, make a proper map; but then I’d have to decide what actually everything was looking like, buildings, how training actually works in CJ and where that takes place; etc, etc. anyway I’m not here to sob over that (yet- especially after I’m doing the whole ‘but what if it was more alike to the og legion??’ Shtick)

But for now I’m gonna talk a little about my concepts for and what we know about New Rome, layout, buildings, and other things based on a mix of various canon maps, actual historical records of Roman city structure, general assumption, and descriptions of New Rome (mostly that would be from SoN and MoA i think- I’ll have to go re-read the New Rome parts respectively before I begin layout work-)

HOWEVER,

I’m going to start a notebook specifically for the documentation and my thought process of the whole New Rome/Camp Jupiter/PJO-verse?? Re-imagining. And I’ll probably begin reporting back on my findings and post on the actual jumbled ideas for this because instead of working on that fun little thing where I re-imagine how the seven plot works (because that means I’d inject a extra book in there and I’d actually sob if I’d have to re-read HoO because I only finished it in August of this year and the rate at which I got through books was disproportionate, please I finished SoN in one day then it took me 2 months to finish MoA-)

But yes, New Rome New Rome- there are very certain things I’d want to settle out. Or for right now at least, before I through my self back into designing a city-

Both the Chariot racing, and Gladiator battles for war games take place in New Rome, as the respective areas for each are hosted in New Rome. I’d imagine that New Rome have their celebrity athletes inside of the modern Rome society of people that play classical Roman sports/games. I have been working with the assumption that both Camp and New Rome have some form of a ‘Forum’ area- in the most basic idea of a Forum area for Camp; I’m looking into making a good balance of how I want Camp to be made so I might change any of that- we’d just have to see.

Okay, okay, but the important things!

I might make a different blog in rp for my character Mercury (or I posted her as Calliope, but I guess she’ll never escape being named after Gods- though Mercedes or Sicily are still name options and I’m getting off topic-) just for the actual official; formatted ideas for New Rome and Camp Jupiter. I’d probably present it as ‘oh this blog is for New Legionnaires/ young citizens in New Rome waiting to join the Legion’ and would present my thoughts more coherently.

Basically here is where the goopy thinking parts of making the ideas would be; whereas over there would be where you would get the actual information (I might also finish the notion page I was working on but that one genuinely hurt my soul to repeatedly work in and on)

But I dunno; I got the idea from a separate blog that I just followed (I’ll link it after I post it so I get this right, @new-rome-historians-association the actual inspiration for the companion blog )and it seems like a fun idea, but I don’t know if people would be interested as it is purely fannon.

okay i finished it and first thought:

i kinda love that they didn't show the spinny toy actually falling over, but how you could see it kinda you know starting to waver. idk really why its not like any symbolic reason cause i never really realise that shit in movies, but i just like it. cuz i was over here fucking terrified that it was just gonna keep spinning, but then it wavers, and thats enough for me to feel so relieved.

then like actual talk:

i like the whole ya know inception part, with all the dream layers and shit. i love me a good "were going down layer by layer and have to time it right to climb up all at once". also enjoy the confusing-ness of it all, because thats literally what dreams feel like. and "Non, je ne regrette rien" playing like that sounded really beautiful, ediths voice really works when you edit it to sound so ominous. good song choice,, and if i were to be all metaphors and shit, id probably comment on how regret plays as a theme in the movie but i dont know enough about shit like that. uhh,, i like how the movie begins with them failing a job, idk why really. and i also like how the whole movie builds its world like so quickly using that. like you immideatly understand how long these people have like worked in the field, even though you obviously cant really cauge their skills of "extraction" due to that not being a real thing. and like,, i really enjoy movies like this, where it feels like its just one snippet of this huge world. like nothing really ended, concluded, for anyone other than Cobb. the others will continue their stories.

-the start scene, when they wake up the first time, idk like, i immideatly knew that it was a dream when Saito started petting the carpet, but i guess that isnt a bad thing really cuz really i just realised it along with Saito,, its not like it was supposed to be a bigger twist than that.

- unfortunately because of Now You See Me i associate michael cane's face with a horrible man, so that kinda ruined the grandpa thing for me, but thats my fault.

-uhh joseph gordon-levit hot. nothing else really. i like his voice.

and like,, on a surface level arthur and eames do not really interact much, but i fully see how the fanfiction writers got the idea for the ship.

-mal was such a character. like,, she felt so god damn deep. hard to explain. i guess,, it really felt like she was a projection of a person.

-i liked how Saito was a good person, in the grand scheme of things.

-fischer looked hot when he was really disheveled.

- i actually enjoyed dicaprio's performance. i dont know shit about acting so i usually dont say shit about it either, but this time i genuinely found myself thinking "i really like how dicaprio's playing cobb". and i really liked how he stayed in limbo for saito and not for mal.

- i looked up the cast cuz im not good with actor names, and i think its really funny how like, on the cast page that google creates, every other actor has like a picture in front of those red carpet event walls, and then theres G-L who's just having a great time in a beautiful forest. and also its funny to me how like, only "Maurice Fischer" gets a full name.

umm yeah. its a good watch.

Yes. In the very first chapter you get a tiny glimpse into Doyoung’s thoughts and he already decided to name her the next editor in chief, but he was really on the hunt for who would replace him as the head of neonet.

The texts were from Jisoo (notice she kept texting during their meeting.) Ten has been hooking up with Lisa (confirmed in chapter 5) and Lisa is close with Jisoo and Rose for obvious reasons and that’s how Ten knew about them. Lisa said reader exposed her for hooking up with a teacher. Not neonet. That kinda gave away that they were lenient with her. Ten does their bidding because they have dirt on him.

Doyoung is the spider weaving the web. The girls are the admins and run the site. Doyoung is the boss (which is why Jisoo was panicking when reader didn’t fall in line because she knew she failed to recruit her and Doyoung will not be pleased.) The girls were in charge of blackmail and Doyoung was in charge of the girls and manipulating everyone from a distance.

They do NOT know that it’s Doyoung. He does everything anonymously that way no one can ever roll on him. The real alpha of neonet has to survive or the site dies. He will have to find a replacement, but he said NCTU deserves some peace so he’s not mad about the site going underground for a while. They’ll come back with a vengeance with a new ruler and admins, but reader and her boys will be long gone by then.

Yep. In chapter one he had already picked her to be editor in chief (but didn’t tell her yet) so everything after that was a test to see if she could run neonet. Someone asked me if neonet was run by a person or a group and I said both. The 3 girls were the admins, but Doyoung was running it. Neonet survives because they will take all the heat but no one caught him.

Thank you! She won because neonet underestimated her. She was never hungry for power, she was trying to mend a broken heart. The boys inadvertently helped her do that and with her finally allowing herself to heal and move on, lust for power had no more sway over her. She was never ruthless enough to rule neonet. 😁

Despite all of that, I'll wait and see what #9 brings before I drop/continue collecting. Color would help the turtles.

After you and Tord finished running around the house and breaking a lot of stuff , you were feeling better the bad and intrusive thoughts werent bothering you anymore , you just felt tired now but a sleepy kind of tired , the others were downstairs preparing the things for a movie night and you decided to grab your stuff and put it on the guests room aka tom's room , you were used to sharing the room with one of them everytime you went there so neither you or them cared about the situation that have happened more times than they could remember. You put your baggages there , just a big back pack that Edd always wondered how that never gave you a back pain it looked too heavy even for you that were much stronger than you looled like,then you grabbed a towel and you pjs , a pair of sweat pants and a comfortable t shirt , it wasnt cold so your hoodie wouldnt be needed , you decided to take a shower you had a long day after all a lot had happened and you were more than ready to relax and have fun with your friends, you took a quick but very relaxing shower and changed into your clean pjs, it felt like a reward , you giggled with yourself remembering of that one "its like a reward" meme and steped out of the bathroom, you went downstairs to find Edd , Matt and Tom in the kitchen preparing snacks and popcorn and also the drinks while Tord was on the living room setting up the movies you guys were going to watch, Tord liked horror stuff maybe that was one of only things you two had in common but since earlier it felt like you guys were starting to get a long a bit better, you didnt noticed you were starring at Tord while thinking about it,that until a pillow hits your face

- HEY!

You exclaimed annoyed throwing the pillow back at Tord who caught it very easily

- Just....why???

- You were just standing there staring at me not even blinking , thought you were possesed or something, everything okay?

At first you were kinda mad but , did he just asked if you were okay?? And seemed to be genuinely worried?? You blinked a few times not even being able to hide the silly little smile you had your face now it felt nice to know you had people who actually cared about you

- Yeah.. im good , thanks i was just thinking.. Im gonna go see if the boys need help bringing the food and drinks

You said smiling a bit and heading to the kitchen, Matt and Edd smiled widly when they saw you there and Tom just waved being too busy chuggin a bit of smirnoff to smile at you now, not that he was a very smiley guy

- Already drinking Tom?

Tom only nodded putting the bottle on the table

- Don't plan on getting wasted but everyone needs a little somethin' to start the day...not for now at least , want some?

He said pointing to the smirnoff bottle , you didnt even thinked twice before going to grab it but someone grabbed you first, it was Edd grabbing you by your waist almost hugging you while pulling you up and turning you on the other way

- No no no no....nu uh, you remember damn well how you got last time you drank that...

- Hey! Don't talk like this about my baby

Tom said annoyed even angrily pouting , you on your side were pouting too after Edd put you back on the floor , he was tallen than you so picking you up wasnt hard at all

- But....that time i was on a competition!

You said , Edd kept starring at you

- You drank less than a shot...

He said making Tom laugh from remembering you glared at him who tried to hide his laughter but his face was even red , maybe from the alcohol as well even tho he wasnt drunk at all at this moment, even Matt gave out a little chuckle, you sighed

- Fiiine..... Anyways i came here to ask if you guys need help bringing the stuff to the living room

- Oh you could help with the bowls of candy , i will bring the doritos ones, Edd and Tom will bring the drinks

Matt said , grabbing the two big bowls of Doritos and going to the living room, Tord already had the movies set there, you got the three smaller but still big bowls of candies , they had m&m's in one ,fummy worms and gummy bears all mixed in the other and one full of mini marshmallows , you headed to the living room setting the snacks on the little tabble there , Edd and Tom carefully placed the drinks there , Matt grabbed a blanket that was already placed there, it wasn't cold that night but it was comfortable to stay with a blanket while watching the movie , you sat where you always used to exactly on the middle of the four of them, Matt and Tom on your right , Tord and Edd on your left , you were pretty much comfortable there , Edd gave you a can of cola and Tom kept the bowl of doritos closer enough so you could get some as well, the movie startedz and of course it was Insane Zombies Pirates from Hell , Tord set all the movies for you guys to watch, you didnt minded watching those movies again it was like a classic to watch with them.

You were awake until the third movie, when you started feeling sleepy and didnt even noticed that you were putting your head on Edd's shoulder almost doozing off , he smiled looking at you

- Hey the movies aren't over yet!

Tord said kinda annoyed , Edd glared at him

- Can't you see that they are tired?? Unlike you , y/n had a long day

- They always fall asleep on the third movie ...

Tord said grabbing the rest of the gummy bears and eating them, you opened your eyes , blusbing a bit when you noticed that you were almost sleeping on Edd's shoulder

- Oh ahm...sorry about that i didnt noticed i was that tired....

Edd laughed a bit

- It's fine don't worry about that besides you are not the only one sleeping

He said trying to show you that Matt was sleeping very comfortably the same way you were before , you giggled a bit until you felt a pair of arms around you , you looked the other way just to see Tom doozed off grabbing you like a plushie, and even to comfirm your suspicious about him thinking you were a plushie he mumbled a bit drunkly

- Tomee bear...

You couldnt hold back the laugh but tried not to be noisy , you didnt minded him hugging you like that he would probably die before aggreing that he did it on the next day but you didnt cared , you looked at Tord for a second and could swear that he smiled a bit at you , you smiled back

- Hey , sorry for falling asleep i know that you like those movies but im feeling tired after today..

You said , Tord just looked away , he was blushing a bit feeling bad that he made you feel bad but he would never admit it

- Yeah yeah...whatever its fine you can sleep ..

He said not even looking at the tv at that moment , you did your best to stay awake a bit longer but before you could notice you were sleeping again, your head on Edd's shoulder , Tom still hugging you and you were awkwardly hugging Edd the same way while Matt slept on the other side , Edd was basically trapped but he didnt minded , he looked at Tord that had a annoyed expression

-What? You're jealous?

Edd teased with a smirk

- You dont need to be still have space for one more cuddle buddy here

He said , Tord almost growled with anger even tho he was blushing a bit

- Fuck you Edd...

He said , making Edd laugh a bit

-Maybe if you learned to get along with y/n better you wouldn't be alone there now Tord

- Shut... i'm working on it

He admited (oh lawd he did admited one thing regarding y/n once oh lawd) Edd looked surprised to hear that but didnt said anything anymore.

Eventually even him and Tord where feeling sleepy but still much more awake then you, Matt and Tom with the (forced) help from Tord , Edd put you and the others in your rooms , you were sharing the room with Tom , so Tord put you there leaving quickly, Edd rolled his eyes and entered the room with Tom putting him on his bed and putting a blanket over both of you guys

- Good night guys

He said softly before leaving to his own room, that night sure was a bit fun, but you guys still have two more days of fun stuff to happen, what will be the next one?

tier lists uhh woohoo

“who uses emails anymore” me. because i had to email one of these to myself so i could get it on my computer. now here we are

i went a did a shit ton of death note tierlists and now that i have the urge to shit myself i will post them because i need an excuse to post something on my masterlist when i get around to making that

characters:

i know who that manga guy is but i forgot his name and he is funny and sexy despite being present for 2 pages and thats why hes up there

im a certified sidoh hater btw

there is a number of characters i ranked pretty high just because theyre hot (mello [partially], namikawa, gevanni, lidner, nameless manga guy, wedy)

characters (adaptations):

i didnt watch the 2006 live action because i havent gotten to it, couldnt finish the 2017 netflix version because of the gore, and havent watched the korean musical because i am superstitious and the circumstances of that are triggering so yayyy! so the characters that are on here from those are ones i have seen clips of and feedback and such

and some characters werent on there??? like mikami was in the jdrama and was an important enough character why would u not add him

characters kind of deviate from their og rankings but that is either because i have gotten 8 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours or something stirred in my brain and i was being smart but i no longer remember it

adaptations:

i probably shouldnt have even ranked the 2006 live action and 2017 netflix ver at all but i probably thought the list was looking pretty empty when was doing this

theres also a lot missing but those are the main ones so i dont care that much

(i would have personally added the add-ons like L change the worLd, another note, and the video games but like i said those are specific additions. i would have also added the one shot, the c-kira story and a-kira story, as well as the relights, light up the NEW world, differentiated the different versions of the musical but but but its okay. i know im rambling but really i do get it [”make it yourself!” no i already made 1 tierlist for this post and also i havent consumed enough of that media for it to be worth it])

gonna be honest when it comes to L’s successors (excluding B and A) i feel weird shipping them with anyone else BUT each other

i would have ranked b x a higher if a wasnt a briefly mentioned character with little dynamics or personality talked about, and i havent seen enough collective fanon of them to rank them anywhere other than mid

the first 2 tiers are preeetty closely ranked i just put lawlight in the first one because i consume more of it, also i probably would have moved some of these around (like moving kiyomisa down to ohio) but this is pretty old so thats my excuse (i was also kind of hard on matsulight i am so sorry)

musical songs:

i dont hate any of the songs enough to put it in hunchback 2

also i need jarrod spector to sing an english version of the way things are i would cry. i put that in (the cheap, joking version of) my will but i accidentally said the way it ends and since it was an image that has since been plastered on multiple places its too late for me to fix it despite my efforts to correct it so oh well

ones i just genuinely cant remember were put in ohio (alongside the actual ohio songs) so if you see one in there that should definitely be ranked higher or lower that is why

i know a lot of people liked borrowed time but to me its just the simp version of titanium so i dont care that much

if i could rank the individual parts of secrets and lies i would be so grateful because the first part is pretty ohio but the last section is so boobs tier worthy that i just ended up averaging it out

i listen to the way it ends on loop every single morning

this is the tier list i made and since i am very bad at making tier lists there are like 2 useless and unused images and its irritating but tiermaker says i cannot delete them so rip

kira’s theme is my favorite and while i know the three L themes up there are essentially the same thing they are also the same thing and i just put them next to each other

^reader is in dire need of cuddles and attention from her boyfriend.^

Y/N POV:

I watched him stare at the screen for what felt like an eternity. I walked into what he calls the ‘Nerd Cave’; one of the spare rooms we had that was decked out with posters, figures, props and all kinds of stuff from our favorite shows or films. It was a sweet thing he had come up with when we moved in together. I stood in the doorway for a while just admiring him. It’s always nice to see him in one of his elements: dressed comfy, sat in his gamer chair, glasses on, and playing video games; truly peaceful. Though I adore to see him like that, I was so desperate for his cuddles. One thing many don’t know about the great Kenny Omega is that he is a cuddle king! And I needed them BAD! I walked into the room carefully so I didn’t startle him. A habit we both adopted was not to scare each other when they had headphones on. I gently put my hands on his shoulders and leaned over the chair, kissing his cheek. He paused his game and lowered his headphones so they rested around his neck, “Hey honey. Wanna join?” he asked. “I actually was hoping for some cuddles. Pleaseee Ty?” He smiled and leaned his head to kiss my hand. “Aw, is someone deficient in Vitamin Me?” Another thing people don’t know is that he makes terrible but cute puns. “Let me finish this level, then you’ll get all the cuddles. Okay?” I nodded and went to the bedroom; knowing his skill, he’ll have the level beat in minutes.

After another half hour, I got annoyed. I went back to the Nerd Cave and noticed he’s started a new level. He must have heard me come in somehow and pulled his headphones down. “I’ll join you in a second baby.” I decided I had enough and turned the chair slightly, climbing into his lap and clinging onto him. “Now Tyson. If I don’t get snuggles in the next five minutes, I might die” I joked. He laughed, “We can’t have that now, can we?” he wrapped his arms around me and resumed his game, “You stay like that, I finish the level, then we go to bed and snuggle.” I smile into his chest, “Dobbie too?” I feel the vibrations from his chuckle, “Yes, babygirl, Dobbie too.” He kissed the top of my head and went back to his game.

He was a man of his word and after this level, he took his headphones off and picked me up to go to the bedroom. Like the king he is, Dobbie was already on the bed. We settled in bed under the covers and I immediately laid my head on his chest, his arms wrapping around me tightly. Cuddles with Ty always boosted my mood. We didn’t have to talk, just our bodies close together. His hand went up to play with my hair until he tilted my head up to kiss my lips. “I’m glad you didn’t die. I do think you laying on me while I game is absolutely adorable and you should do it more often.” I couldn’t help the smile on my face, “Of course you do, dork.” “I’m serious! You close to me while I kick virtual ass? Makes it even better.” I roll my eyes playfully, “I’ll keep that in mind. I love you.” He kisses me again, letting the feel of his lips on mine linger for a moment, “I love you too.” I decided to poke fun at him: “More than video games?” “A billion times more than video games.” From then on I made sure to sit in his lap while he gamed more often. It’s, how you say, ‘killing two birds with one stone’?

3rd Person POV:

Brock knew when he came back that Heyman wouldn’t turn his back on The Bloodline. An idea popped into his head but knew it could be risky: what if Y/N was his new advocate? She has everything. She is a wrestler, a professional on the mic, knows the business aspect of the game, and she’s feisty as all hell. She’s decorated in WWE as well; having held every belt in the women’s division at one point or another. When he brought it up to her, the gleam in her eye was untouchable. That settled it. They ran the proposal by all the higher ups and was approved immediately. The catch though: Heyman, Roman and the Usos were not to know.

Friday rolled around fast and it was time for everything to be revealed. The Bloodline and their ‘Wise Man’ were already in the ring, spewing the usual. One of the backstage hands informed them Brock was on. The couple turned to each other, Y/N reached up to kiss him for luck even though she would be out shortly after. “I love you. Go get em, baby.” she told him. “I love you too sugar.” His music hit and he did his entrance as she watched on the screen in the gorilla, counting down until it was her turn. “Now I know you are not gonna betray your Tribal Chump anytime soon, so I found someone else to be my advocate.” A second passed and ‘Boss Bitch’ by Doja Cat played as Y/N came out. She dressed in a black skirt, white blouse underneath a custom flannel with The Beast logo on the back with their son’s name above it, and some black heel boots. The cherry on top was her engagement ring shining in the colorful lights that were part of her entrance. She gave high fives to the little kids as she walked by, something that always brought a smile to his face. He held the middle rope down for her and she got in the ring, he handed her a microphone but Paul started talking before she could. “Well, if it isn’t the Beast’s Bitch? Shouldn’t you be home with that baby of yours?” As the crowd booed, Brock spit back “Unless you want a one way ticket to Suplex City, I suggest you watch your mouth when talking about Y/N or Ethan.” “Brock honey, I can handle this. Paul, I know you have never cared for me or our relationship, so I’m glad you’re now playing second; wait no no,” she pointed to count Jimmy and Jey, “fourth fiddle to Roman. Lord knows he needs a big mouth to go with his even bigger ego.” “Yo Uce, you gonna let her talk to you like that?” Jey said as he and his twin moved to stand in front of her, “Yeah, remember you’re in the presence of the Tribal Chief baby.” She rolled her eyes, “Really Roman? Can’t respond to me on your own so your little bitches have to bark for you?” One thing about Y/N is that she was not afraid to step up to the men, even facing off against some of them. “Y/N,” Roman started as he pushed his cousins behind him and got a little too close to the shorter woman in Brock’s opinion, “I’m not gonna talk bad about you or your son because I’m not that type of guy. What I will talk about is, you have amazing skills in this industry, so you coming out as the new advocate is crazy because it seems like you’re wasting your time and talent on this dumbass farm-” That was all it took for her to pounce on the man in front of her and unleash her own beast. The only defense Roman gave was trying to push her off until Brock picked his fiance up and took her out of the ring; leaving the other four men in the ring stunned as the WWE universe equally cheered and booed her. She grabbed a microphone from ringside and said one last thing, “We’ll see your asses at Crown Jewel.” Her music played as she and Brock went back to their locker room.

When they entered the locker room, Becky got up with Ethan. “I guess we can call you ‘Big Time Y/N’ after that take down, huh?” The couple was grateful for Becky watching Ethan but they needed some time to regroup. “Thanks Becks. And thank you for watching him.” the woman said as she took the toddler in her arms. “Anytime, sweetie.” the redhead left and it grew silent. “I know you probably aren’t happy with me.” she started. “Sugar what are you talking about? That had to be one of the greatest things I have ever seen you do.” He walked over to the woman he already called his wife and held the child that was the spitting image of him. “Ethan, aren’t you proud of Momma? She took down a champion in our honor.” He babbled as he was about to start the talking stage at a little over a year old. “Well I can’t let it slide when someone talks about my two favorite cowboys. Don’t worry baby; Daddy will come home with that title soon enough.” The boy in Brock’s arms reached for his mother and surprised them both, “Momma.” They looked at each other in shock and excitement. “Eef, say that again. Who’s that?” he pointed to the child’s mother. “Momma!” “You said your first word! Ethan, we’re so proud of you!” Y/N exclaimed as she kissed the baby’s little cheeks. She pulled her soon-to-be husband down to kiss him, and tell them both over and over how much she loves them; the expressions being returned as well. Their little family had some major moments that night: Y/N returned, Brock is going for the Universal Championship title, and most importantly Ethan saying his first word. There was so much love in the atmosphere of that room that they forgot about the scuffle out in the ring from before. Truthfully? Neither of them cared. This moment with the three of them was the only thing that mattered.
