why can’t byler and steddie shippers just coexist peacefully. it doesn’t have to be one or the other (except eddie is dead… but idk maybe they’ll have a come back to life storyline for him or something).

i’ve seen so many steddie and byler shippers attack each other and it’s honestly ruining the show for me. stop arguing over fictional characters when it doesn’t even matter. yes, queer representation is important, but hopefully the writers aren’t gonna be like “oh yes well we have one queer character, that’s enough, everyone else is straight”

okay @waiting-for-the-day 's space post made me think about something unrelated to the episode.

so, mulder just LOVES space. and it *is* so cute we got to see that. like i love what a nerd he is, and i love when characters have fangirl moments.

BUT what about scully's love of the ocean?? like. we get to see her sail a little and we hear how she "worships the sea" but when do we ever get to see it? when does scully get to be a nerd about something she LOVES. and literally it just makes me crazy because i know she's a little marine biology nerd and part of her is like "i can't believe mulder is obsessed with space & aliens when the ocean is right there!"

and i just really want it. like you know when mulder is unemployed he falls down rabbit holes on the internet and *~*the ocean*~* is one of them. and everything he tells her, she's like "mulder i already know this. i tried to tell you this years ago!"

and ACTUALLY it's ridiculous that scully completely dismisses the idea of the loch ness monster & big blue because she knows very well the ocean is mostly unexplored and she knows about that really old believed to be extinct fish dude they found in a lake a few months ago AND ahab definitely used to tell her stories, like i'm literally picturing the sailors telling prince eric about king triton.

anyway. she doesn't believe the stories, but something crazy coming out of the ocean wouldn't surprise her.
