Movie Night
Emily doesn't remember the last time they watched a film that wasn't their daughter's favourite, so Aaron hatches a plan.
-x-
Hi friends,
This is some nice family fluff for you all on this Friday evening <3 this all came from a conversation with @eobangingwhen, so I'm dedicating this to her.
I promise I will write something more than pure fluff very soon haha
Hope you all enjoy this, and as always let me know what you think <3

Warnings: vague spoilers for Frozen and Star Wars VI I guess??
Words: 3k
Read over on Ao3, or below the cut
There were moments when she found it hard to believe this was her life.
It was strange to think that only six years ago she was in Paris, convinced she’d never feel safe again. That her penance for her actions which had led to a gravestone with her name carved into it was the loneliness she’d felt there. The fear she would have once believed would never fade a punishment from a God she wasn’t entirely sure she had ever believed in. She wished she could go back and talk to that version of herself, that she could assure her that life would get better than it ever had been before, that she’d end up with a family of her own.
The idea of it always made her smile, because she knew even if it was possible she’d never believe herself anyway, especially when she would reveal her husband was Aaron.
She’d had a crush on him for as long as she could remember, a flipping in her gut whenever he was near that had morphed into something more powerful as time went on. A feeling she knew was love the moment he was missing after Foyet had attacked him. Their timing had never been right, feelings she now knew he’d had for her growing at the same rate as hers that had to be ignored because of circumstance. For a long time, it felt like they’d never get a chance, so she’d convinced herself it would never happen. An attempt to protect herself from any more pain, sure that if she attempted something that wasn’t reciprocated would leave her with a brand on her heart more painful than the one Ian had left on her skin.
It made her grateful for this, made the difficult moments of parenthood and marriage easier to swallow when she reminded herself she could have missed out on him, on them. Her life a quilt made of ordinary moments, memories stitched together and laid over her like a comfort blanket that she relied on in her worst moments, when her monsters snuck out of the shadows and convinced her she would somehow lose all of this.
She smiles as her daughter presses herself in the small space between her and Aaron, the three-year-old insistent on being as close to them as possible at all times. Alice smiles at them both as she rests her head on Aaron’s arm, sinking into his embrace when he wraps his arm around her, his hand coming to rest on his wife’s thigh. He smiles at Emily and winks before he looks at their son, Elliot, curled up on his mother’s chest, his hand tangled in her hair as he tries to fight off sleep. The 18-month-old always wanted to be involved in everything, his focus always on his older siblings, and very often Emily and Aaron had to hoist him up into their arms, lifting him off his feet so he didn’t follow them to the roundabout at the local park and get too involved with the bigger kids rougher games.
“Mommy, can we watch Frozen?” Alice asks, her sweet voice drawing her attention to her and Emily has to suppress a sigh.
Alice loved Frozen. She wanted to watch it all the time, the movie one of the few things that would hold her focus. They’d watched it so often that Emily was sure she could recite it word for word, her disdain for Olaf the snowman enough that she’d planned his death in more than one way.
She never thought she’d loved Aaron more when she quietly admitted that to him one evening, shame dripping from every syllable as she told him just how much she hated their daughter’s favourite character, and his only response was to say he’d done the same thing.
“Sweetie,” Emily says, taking one hand off of Elliot’s back and tucking some of Alice’s hair behind her ear, “Maybe Jack wants to pick the movie for once.”
Alice pouts a little, and frowns at her, but any comment from the little girl is cut off by Jack from Emily’s other side.
“It’s okay, Mom,” he says, smiling at her when she turns to look at him, “I don’t mind if we watch it again.”
She reaches out and ruffles his hair, smiling when he dives out of the way, the pre-teen on the cusp of being constantly embarrassed by his parents.
“Are you sure honey?”
He nods, smiling as his little sister beams at him, and he shrugs as if it’s no big deal, “She loves it.”
Aaron squeezes Alice closer to him. He looks back and forth between Jack who was sitting at the other end of the couch and then at his watch. Jack was endlessly patient with his younger siblings. He loved being a big brother and always went with the flow, but he could see the flash of horror going through his son's eyes as he thinks about spending another evening watching the animated movie.
“How about we watch it now,” Aaron suggests, looking up at Jack, “And Jack can play his game whilst we do,” he smiles when his eldest smiles and nods, already walking over to the Nintendo Switch they’d bought him and turning it into handheld mode, “And then when you go to bed Mommy and I will watch something Jack wants to watch.”
Alice nods enthusiastically and Aaron grabs the remote, well aware the Frozen DVD would already be in the player, and he starts the movie. Alice is enraptured for the start, her eyes fixed on the screen as she sings along.
“I don’t remember the last time we watched a movie that wasn’t made for children,” Aaron eventually says quietly so only Emily can hear, Alice too lost in the movie, as if it was the first time she’d ever seen it, and Jack in his handheld video game to hear their parent’s quiet discussion.
She hums and raises her eyebrow at him, running her fingers through Elliot’s hair, the toddler now fast asleep against her, “I don’t remember the last time we watched a movie that wasn’t Frozen.”
He smiles at his wife and leans in to kiss her cheek, only to be immediately chastised by Alice, who turns to look at him, a glare Emily would say was all him on her face from where she’s sitting between them.
“Daddy - watch Frozen!”
“Yeah, Daddy,” Emily says, winking at him over Alice’s head, a promise for later hiding in the action that makes his stomach swoop, just as enamoured with his wife as he was on their first date. “Watch the movie.”
Time alone was rare these days, even rarer than it always had been and all of a sudden he found himself desperate to just spend time with his wife. To watch a movie that they picked and snuggle on the couch the same way they did when they were first dating and Jack had gone to bed.
He watches the movie but doesn’t pay any attention, his focus instead on planning a date night as soon as possible.
___
Emily sighs to herself as she shakes her head, unable to focus on the paperwork in front of her. It had been a rough night. Elliot had barely slept, his shift from two naps a day to one having an impact it hadn’t had with Alice. He’d been fussy all night, crying out for Mama even when Aaron went in to try to settle him. Eventually, he’d woken up Alice and she’d crawled into their bed and fell asleep in between them.
She blinks blearily, massaging her fingers into her temples as she desperately tries to pay attention to her work, and she smothers a yawn. She smiles tightly at Spencer as they catch each other's gaze over the divider between their desks and then she looks back at the paperwork, determined to get at least some done today.
“Emily, do you wanna-”
Later, she’d blame her exhaustion for how she replies to Specner, her brain automatically taking over her mouth because they’d yet again watched Frozen that morning, the movie on in the background to keep Alice and Elliot happy as she and Aaron desperately sucked down coffee and half-cold oatmeal.
“Honey, Mommy really doesn’t have the energy to build a snowman right now.”
Her eyes go wide as soon as she says it, her brain finally catching up with her surroundings and she groans when the moment of shocked silence is filled with laughter, Derek’s the loudest. She covers her eyes with her hands and curses under her breath.
“I think somebody should go get Mommy a cup of coffee,” Derek says, and she looks up and narrows her eyes at him, her glare doing nothing to stop his smirk.
“That’s actually what I was going to ask,” Spencer asks, his cheeks burning with embarrassment as he stands up, “I’ll go get you one.”
“Alice still obsessed with Frozen, huh?” JJ asks, turning to look at them and Emily nods, groaning again as she thinks about it.
“It’s all she ever wants to watch. I never thought it was possible to hate an animated snowman as much as I do,” she narrows her eyes, “I’d melt the son of a bitch if I could.”
JJ chuckles sympathetically, “For Henry it was Cars,” she says, shaking her head as she crosses her arms over her chest, “I actually once dreamt that I cut Lightening McQueen’s break line.”
Emily laughs, any guilt she may have felt for disliking her daughter’s favourite movie as much as she did fading, “You have no idea how much better that makes me feel.”
Derek clears his throat, his smile getting wider as he gets her attention, and he leans back in his chair, his hands on the back of his head, “So, Mommy what are your and Hotch’s evening plans?”
She rolls her eyes and actively ignores the use of the moniker, “The usual.”
Spencer walks back over and places the coffee down on her desk, smiling at her before he returns to his own desk. The smell of it alone is enough to reinvigorate her and she picks it up and immediately takes a sip.
“Thanks, Spence,” she says, smiling gratefully at him, “I appreciate it.”
He shrugs nonchalantly, “No problem.”
“Yeah,” Derek says, “We’ve got to be nice to our Momm-”
“Derek Morgan if you call me Mommy one more time I will make sure you never have kids of your own,” she says, cutting over him. She purposely holds her glare, suppressing her need to laugh, when his eyes go comically wide, clearly very aware that she’s serious.
“Why are you threatening Morgan, sweetheart?” Aaron asks, and she looks up, smiling softly when she sees him standing on the walkway, leaning on the railing above their desks.
She knows he’s tired too for two reasons. Firstly, because he used a nickname for her in the office, a tiny piece of their personal life slipping free, the sharp line between the two parts of their lives slowly getting blurrier. Secondly, he had an Elsa sticker on the lapel of his jacket.
It was something Alice frequently did. She would carefully select a sticker and place it diligently on his jacket, she did the same for Emily too, claiming it would protect them as they fought the bad guys. She knew that usually, Aaron would remove it the second he got to the office and shrugged off his coat. He would place it on a photo frame on his desk, the picture inside of it one of Emily and the kids, a collection of brightly coloured cartoon characters surrounding a photo of his family. A much needed contrast to the usual horror that crossed his desk in their case files, a reminder of all the good there was in the world.
She had a similar collection too, although she placed her stickers on the inside of one of her drawers, safe and protected from any unsub that might be brought through the bullpen, not wanting to give them any access to something they might consider a weakness.
She smiles at her husband and taps her own lapel, “Honey…”
He looks down and clears his throat, pulling the sticker off of his jacket with more tenderness than his hands should be capable of. A smile flashes across his face that she knows he can’t control, and he nods briefly at them all.
“I’d better go put this away,” he says as he turns and walks back into his office.
“You guys are so cute-”
She turns and looks sharply at her friend, “Derek, I swear to God.”
The rest of the day drags by, minutes feeling like hours as her exhaustion slowly returns. When it’s time to go home she immediately jumps up, smiling at her husband as he exits his office exactly on time. He takes her bag from her the moment he makes it to her side, ignoring her playful eye roll.
“Ready to go home, sweetheart?”
She hums, “God yes,” she says, checking her watch and hissing, knowing if they didn’t leave immediately they’d hit traffic. “We have to go get the kids.”
“Actually,” he says, waving goodbye to the team as they step out through the glass doors and towards the elevators, “Jess went to get them. And right now they will all be very excited to have a sleepover at hers.”
She smiles, narrowing her eyes at him as he reaches for her hand, linking their fingers together, “What are you up to Mr Hotchner?”
He winks at her and squeezes her hand again, a silent promise pressed into her skin, “That’s for me to know and you to find out Mrs Hotchner.”
___
He takes her home via their favourite pizza place, refusing to tell her anything else about his plans for the evening as they drive home.
It’s only once they’ve eaten, talking softly over slices of pizza, the house so much quieter than usual it makes her ache a little, that he tells her they are going to watch a movie together just the two of them. They call the kids and talk to them over FaceTime to say goodnight, and Emily can’t help but smile at the sight of all three of them squished together as they fight to get their faces in the frame, each of them desperate to see their parents despite their excitement to be at Jessica’s.
Once they are done speaking to the kids, she smiles widely at Aaron as he tells her to settle on the couch and that he’ll go get them some wine as he clears the pizza boxes, an instruction he signs off with a gentle kiss stamped against her lips. She chuckles when he brings in the wine. He’d served it in plastic Death Star shaped cups they’d got at DisneyWorld the year before. He waggles his brows at her as he hands her one and she laughs again, leaning in to press a kiss against his lips as he settles on the couch next to her.
“I don’t need many guesses to know what film we’re watching,” she says, kissing him again before she pulls back to take a sip of her wine, “You thought of everything.”
He shrugs as if it’s nothing, as if the gentle way he loves her wasn’t the thing that kept her afloat, and he places his cup of wine down on the table, “I just thought it’s been a while since we did this just the two of us.”
She hums and nods, putting her wine down next to his before she snuggles into his side, sighing contently as his warmth immediately starts to leach into her. He reaches for the remote and starts the DVD player and she smiles when she sees the menu for A New Hope already on the screen, and she idly wonders when he got the chance to put the DVD in the player, a small part of her hopeful he’d somehow lost the Frozen one in the process.
“Are you sure you want to watch Star Wars, honey?” She asks, tilting her head to look up at him. She rakes her fingers through his hair, love for him threatening to burst out of her chest, “We could watch something more grown up, who knows when we’ll next have the chance?”
“It’s your favourite movie, Em,” he says simply, stamping his lips against her forehead as he presses play, “I wouldn’t want to watch anything else.”
She shakes her head at him and kisses him, her hand on his cheek to hold him in place as she sighs into his mouth. When she pulls back she rubs her nose briefly against his, unable to stop her smile even if she wanted to, “I love you.”
“I know,” he replies, his voice deadpan and she playfully glares at him. He laughs and leans in to kiss her again, “I love you too,” he says, kissing her once more before the scrolling text appears on the screen, “Now pay attention.”
She chuckles and rests her head on his shoulder, content and relaxed as she snuggles further into him as he lays a blanket over their laps. She wraps both of her arms around one of his and hugs it, safe and happier than she ever thought possible as she sits next to her husband. Snuggled up on their couch in their home, watching a movie she probably knew by heart. It was achingly ordinary, and she would never stop being grateful that this was her life.
He notices she’s quieter than she usually is when they watch this. She’d normally whisper lines half a second before the characters said them or tell him a fact about the behind the scenes, not embarrassed about her self-declared nerdiness around him, but she’s silent. He looks down and chuckles to himself when he sees her eyes drifting closed and he kisses her forehead, shifting her gently so her head is resting on a cushion in his lap. He runs his fingers through her hair, scratching gently at her scalp as he does so, and she hums contentedly.
She’s asleep before Princess Leia is captured.

Frozen 3 and 4 details from Jennifer Lee | Latest updates
Tumblr media
Jennifer Lee in an interview with Gamesradar gave a little bit more on the general story with Frozen 3 and 4. Gamesradar asked Lee if the announcement of Frozen 4 meant the threequel was being conceived as part of a larger whole.
Jennifer Lee said:
"We're really excited about where they're going, and we just have a lot of story to tell with that direction we're going in. So, I think, in my head, there may be enough for two in that story. But I'm really, really loving working with the team and where they're going."
Another interview, another sprinkle of hope as things sound positive and great. It's really good to hear that they have found more stories to tell and have decided to space it out into two films, and not rushing and cramming it all in one, because let's be honest there was still a lot left to tell after where Frozen 2 left us off at.
For Elsa I personally want to see her powers taken away and know what she really is and can be without them to show all that she's more than just her powers. Because most of her story arc is based on her powers and now that she's accepted them what would it be like if she didn't have them?
For Anna I'd like to see her be her own Queen, still keeping her goofy fun bubbly personality but as Queen.
For Kristoff, his past before the ice harvesters and Sven and his relationship growth with Anna with no longer having insecurities about Anna if Hans comes back (because Anna is way past Hans)
For Olaf maybe teenager Olaf or something along those lines of growth.
And yes for Hans. He needs to come back. I'd like to see redeemed and have a brother bond with Kristoff (maybe be adopted brothers) and yes, be with Elsa because those two have a lot more in common than one would think.
Lee also talks about Frozen approaching its milestone of 10 years.
"What I love about Frozen, I think it was unexpected for all of us. And we went into it the way we go into every story, which is really from character out. And the fact that it became something special, and that these sisters – really at the core is two sisters – I think for a lot of us was just very exciting, about, 'Who are those protagonists that we can tell these great stories of women, particularly women who are on each other's side, not against each other?' That was really exciting, that people responded to it. So I think in some ways, Frozen, to me, has encouraged us to keep telling different kinds of stories of different kinds of heroes."
From here we can rule out that the sisters will be against each other in the upcoming movies and to realise that Elsa and Anna, both and together are the core of Frozen. So there's a little hope for a permanent reunion between the two. I know she's talking about Frozen but I believe also about the franchise too. I also hope we get an emotional, beautiful duet between the two. "For the first time in forever - reprise" was quite it. It was a reprise too.
So let's see what else in the coming days gets revealed about Frozen 3 and 4. Jennifer is definitely giving subtle hints.
What do you lot make out of what Jennifer has said here?

Am I really about to do a full analysis of The Last Wish? Yes, yes I am. Starting with characters!!! One by one!!!
Perrito
Tumblr media
Spoilers
One thing about Perrito is that he is so darn pure and tragic. When the trailers came out, I noticed people were sceptical about Perrito. Saying how he might be annoying and take away from the film. People even compared him to Olaf from Frozen. Which was a shock to me. I thought people loved Olaf from Frozen but I guess I was wrong. After a day of thinking on this, I finally understood why people thought this. Side characters that are usually used as the comedic relief can sometimes flop. They can be annoying and take away precious screen time from characters that the audience wants to see. But with Perrito, that is never the case. He doesn't waste a single screen time. In fact you end up wanting more from him. He's just so darn positive and sweet even after what he went through. He was thrown away by his owners for being the runt of the litter. But he was so positive that he thought they were playing tag. So every time they tried to throw him away, he would end up returning like it was all a game. And then one day, his owners drown him in a sock. And it's just sweet to see Perrito so positive about this. The sock they try to drown him in, he turns it into something happy and keeps it as a sweater. I guess it's his positive view that makes him so likeable. He leaves a positive impression on Kitty when she has a talk with him about trust. What I love about their talk is that Kitty doesn't push Perrito to not trust anyone and Perrito doesn't push Kitty to trust him or Puss. Just that she has to trust someone. The conversation just feels very natural and healthy. Now let me talk about how his childlike view doesn't clash with the dark themes of the film.
Olaf and Perrito comparison
I'm not bashing Olaf, I'm using him as an example. If I see a single bad comment about Olaf, I will hunt you down for insulting him and writing a strongly worded letter!
I adore the first Frozen film. It was wholesome, cute, magical, and just phenomenal. And Olaf as a character blended in perfectly with the environment that was created. The film was near to perfect and every character shined. But then Frozen 2 came in. Frozen 2 had darker elements that were fantastic. I loved the concept and the way the story was told. I do have a few issues with it but this isn't about Frozen. This is about how Olaf's positivity clashed with the darker elements. Olaf is supposed to have a childlike view of life just like Perrito. The two characters are put into similar situations. Innocent, naive, and trusting characters who are struggling to understand the more serious issues around them. The difference is, Olaf, clashed with the darker elements while Perrito helped embrace the darker elements. Olaf in the second film still has his innocence and childlike wonder. He goes to the library to read about life and soaks up knowledge like a child would. He even has a song about how everything will make sense when he's older. And that's a strong beginning to Olaf's character. It only starts falling apart when Olaf doesn't really learn about his surroundings. Does he understand that Elsa died? Or that his kingdom committed genocide? You can argue he's still a kid but he never shows his emotions or thoughts about the situation. Instead, he remains positive and tells jokes to cheer up Anna. It's cute but it feels pointless. I still love Olaf as a character, I just wish they would let him take time to process what was happening around him.
As for Perrito, he helps embrace the darker elements instead of just being positive all the time. His positivity influences both Kitty and Puss. For Kitty because of his conversation with her. Seeing things in a positive way isn't bad at all and we could all use a friend or someone to trust. For Puss, it's the panic attack scene. Puss is in a very vulnerable state and Perrito follows him. The moment is very tender and quiet. No dialog or humor, just the sound of the heart beating like crazy and hyperventilating. The moment is so darn sweet because Perrito doesn't talk or try to make Puss laugh, he's simply there for him. He places his head on Puss and that's enough to calm Puss down. And I feel like this is something many people forget easily. You don't need to talk, you don't need to say a word, you just need to be there. Listening and making sure the person who's venting knows your listing. This just reminded me of a personal experience of mine. A few years ago I was very vulnerable to panic attacks. All my friends did exactly this. They didn't try to throw in flowery words or jokes, they were simply there and made sure I knew they were listening. I only lost one friend, thank God because he was actually a jerk. And that "friend" tried using flowery language and false promises. Which only made things worse for himself and I. So yeah, the panic attack scene was very meaningful to me and made me cry. And this is what I mean by Perrito embracing the darker elements of the film. He doesn't fight off the heaviness of the moment. He doesn't try to bring light into the darkness. Instead, he goes into the darkness and lets everyone feel what they need to feel. He helps the emotions flow out properly. And I LOVE that!!!! Perrito isn't oblivious to what's going on, naive yes but not oblivious. He knew what to do when Puss had a panic attack. He knew how to talk to Kitty about her issues. He helped Puss and Kitty strengthen their relationship. And he helped Goldie find out what she wanted. Oh, and his moment with Goldie was adorable. You can tell from this moment that Perrito isn't dumb, he's positive. Baby insults him and instead of being upset, he joins in. He's aware he was insulted but he puts a positive spin on it. He's aware he's an orphan like Goldie and compliments her family. This makes you wonder, is he aware that he's an attempted murder victim? And he chooses to remain positive?
I'll talk about his final arc on the Wishing Star section. But man. I adore how well written he is.
Next is Kitty.

I know we’ve all been drowned in Frozen since 2013, but I’m rewatching it and it deserved every bit of it’s hype.
The snow animation? Gold
The character design? Gold
The relationships? Gold
The theming? Nailed it
The song-writing? Just original enough to be excellent (other Disney movies hadn’t done the whole “sing conversationally” thing since Hunchback) without trying to fix what was never broken about other Disney movies. The character development? Just wonderful. Contrast the stiff and fearful older sister with the heedless and zany younger sister? Yes please. Contrast the polite and charming villain with the stinky and rude love interest? So good.
The voice acting? I actually re-watch the first movie and forget that quiet, young Elsa is played by Idina Menzel, because she’s doing such a good job of being reserved. Meanwhile I’m laughing at jokes made by Anna and Olaf even though I must have heard them a thousand times, simply because the delivery of the voice actors and the pacing of the dialogue is so on-point.
Tumblr media
Everything about this movie was just plain good, and no wonder it’s every scene and beat was the obsession of 2013-2019

I don’t really like the idea of love being “Anna’s superpower.” She has a big heart, but unlike Elsa’s magic, that isn’t something that is unique to her, and her only. Anybody in the world can have a big heart. The power of love can empower anybody. Anna’s big heart is only one part of who she is. She is also spunky, fearless, determined. Like with anybody, all of these personality traits combined make Anna special. By giving her a “superpower” it seems like they are saying “this is what Anna has to make up for lack of ice powers”, which is a disservice to both sisters. Why can’t Anna just be a loving person without it having to be framed as a quality that is unique to her?
I understand where you're coming from here. It seems strange to give Anna a 'superpower' that is honestly something that many characters possess. Elsa hid herself for many years to keep Anna and others safe and sacrificed herself for everyone - that is definitely love. Kristoff ran across a frozen fjord and went up against earth giants for Anna - that is also very much love. Love empowers everyone, like you said.
However, I think what the writers mean (from my interpretation) when they say that 'love is Anna's superpower' is how she often turns to love first. For example, when the winter started, Anna had faith in Elsa when everyone else was skeptical or fearful. The Duke calls Elsa a monster, Anna says "Elsa is not a monster." Hans says "It's too dangerous" she responds "Elsa's not dangerous." Kristoff asks "So you're not at all afraid of her?" Anna says "Why would I be?"
Anna is showing a type of love that is more related to having faith. Having faith in something (like a sister, or any other loved one) against all odds and all reason is a very different kind of love. Elsa has pretty much given no indication of being safe according to outside observers. They witness her causing a huge winter, they see her blasting ice everywhere, and there are aspects of her powers that seem dangerous on the surface (like the ice spikes Kristoff is almost scratched with and Olaf is impaled on.) Later, Anna has every reason to doubt Elsa since she ran her off and accidentally struck her with her magic. However, when the moment called for it, Anna sacrificed herself for Elsa.
Against everything, Anna still had faith in Elsa. That is very much considered a superpower, because not many have the emotional strength to overlook hardships, disagreements, pain, and faults to still have love for someone.

Frozen 3 trailer concept
(Arendelle town seen from above in bird view, slowly panning down to Anna and Elsa happily walking down a street. There are changes in buildings and town layouts showing that time has passed since Frozen 2, they are wearing new outfits, and they laugh and chat before the camera catches up to them. They keep walking)
Anna: So! What are the news since last friday? I love our little catch ups.
Elsa: You first.
Anna: Meh,
(shots of Anna in Queen attire helping people around, participating in events, leading political meetings) Anna's voice-over: you know, Queen stuff. How about you?
Elsa: Well,
(shots of Elsa helping Northuldra in the forest, gathering reindeer as she rides Nokk, running in panic after Bruni) Elsa's VO: the usual Fifth Spirit routine.
(back to Arendelle's streets; Elsa shrugs with humor. Then her smile vanishes, she frowns in concern)
Elsa: Though, there's this odd thing that happened the other day in Ahtohallan...
(shot of her widening her eyes in the dome of memories, staring in awe at something off screen)
(back to Elsa in Arendelle's streets, she stops walking and stares at Anna)
Elsa: I saw memories... Not from the past...
(same shot of Ahtohallan, reverse angle where Elsa lifts her hand to a group of ice statues to reach it in disbelief, the scene clearly has not happened before and features older versions of the main characters) Elsa's VO: ...but from the future.
(title screen that reads "IN 2025")
(Honeymaren and Ryder walking with a nervous Elsa in the Forest) Honeymaren: There must be an explanation.
(title screen that reads "JUMP FORWARD")
(Frohana characters walk around ice statues that Elsa crafted in the main hall of Arendelle in awe, looking at every detail)
Kristoff: So these come from... Our future?
Anna: This is incredible.
(close shot of Olaf walking to the statue of his future self, his admiration switches to a smirk, he wiggles his eyebrows, the trailer music stops) Olaf: I look good.
(trailer music resumes, title screen that reads "FOR A FINAL FROZEN ADVENTURE")
(close shot of Anna, looking very serious) Anna: You've got Arendelle's full support.
(shot of Northuldra tribe + Frohana staring up at something big off screen, Anna and Elsa have protective hand gestures towards each other) Anna's VO: Whatever we do... Elsa's VO: We do it together.
(trailer music blasts, new logo appears in 3D)
(boom with a title screen that reads "NOVEMBER 2025")

And I finally got 100% for Team Frozen in "Disney Speedstorm"
Tumblr media
The hardest character to get was Olaf. Olaf is exclusive to lootbox and the Golden Pass, after getting Sven and spending a few days I lost hope of getting Olaf by luck so I turned to appeal. I bought the Golden Pass… But it wasn't with real money, I farmed the 990 coins and bought it. How did I farm these 990 coins? I had a little more than 500 coins obtained by playing normally, but to get the 400 I used online mode: every time you increase a pilot's ranking online he earns X amount of coins, in rank 6/silver you get 35 coins in total with a pilot. So I did this scheme, switching pilots whenever I got silver ranking (you get coins in higher rankings, but silver is the easiest to get and it met my goal).

Frozen memories #001
My Frozen story - Part 1
It's the end of October which means it's time for me to reminisce about another year of experiences with the Frozen franchise. What's extra special this time though is of course the upcoming Frozen 10th anniversary as well as an opportunity to share it with more than just a few close friends 🙂
I never saw the original Frozen in theatres. Back then in late 2013, I was relatively fresh out of school, unemployed and didn’t have much time or interest to engage in media fandoms of any kind. Things got better the following year as I attended university, beginning my studies in structural engineering and urban planning. Despite having to travel a lot every day and trying to keep up with my studies, life was relatively simple. You did the same thing every day. I was not the most sociable person but I was making good progress getting to know and working together with my fellow peers. Most of them were fresh from high school while I had been studying a bit before applying for uni so I was a little bit older than most of them.
Being in my early twenties, animation or Disney wasn't exactly anything I was paying attention to. I couldn't remember the last time I watched a Disney movie and I think I was feeling a bit out of touch with fandom culture in general.
Entering October, I happened to notice that ABC's fantasy TV-series Once upon a time was coming back for a fourth season. This wasn’t anything out of the ordinary and I had actually never watched the show before (only briefly in an ad and I remember the CGI looked really bad 🤣) but thanks to my local newspaper, I learned that actor Georgina Haig was gonna play a new role in the show. I was very fond of this Aussie gal since her small role as Henrietta in the sci-fi series Fringe 2012-2013 so I was very excited to see what her new character was about.
With hindsight, I know for sure that without Georgina’s involvement, the show would have never caught my attention. And my goodness, did this change my life 😃
Oh, and that newspaper highlight? I rediscovered it a couple of years ago👇
Tumblr media
For those of you who (shockingly) can't read Swedish, here's what it said:
Ask about TV Elsa, queen of ice, shows up and it gets cold in Storybrooke.
Will there be new episodes of the fairy tale series? In "Once upon a time" we got to know several fairy tale characters. In the last season, Emma and Hook travelled through time which messed things up for Snow White and the Prince, and Robin Hood and Lady Marion were reunited. When the series is back in Channel 11 on October 20th, a recap episode will be broadcasted at 7PM before the saga continues at 8PM. Queen Elsa of Arendelle (Georgina Haig) shows up.
I obviously had no idea who Queen Elsa of Arendelle was (I barely even knew what story she was from). I was aware that the movie Frozen was a thing and I had seen the teaser with Olaf and Sven around Christmas 2013 but it had left no impression on me whatsoever. I had a vague idea that the song Let it go had become very popular but I didn't understand the fuss behind it. Yet.
October 20th, 2014. My first introduction to the Arendelle sisters👇
Tumblr media
It’s hard to describe exactly what my initial reaction to watching the first few episodes was. In general (since I had no experience with the show) I was of course confused about what was going on but the consistency of the Frozen-story definitely helped. Much later on, having seen the entire series, I understood much better how the characters and their story tied into the main plot and especially Emma Swan’s character development. But at the time, it was just cool to take part of some new and (to me) pretty unique fantasy storytelling in a modern setting. For any true Oncers out there, regardless of the quality of the show as a whole, I'm sure you would agree that it was a heck of a fun ride while it lasted!
I knew for sure that I had found something that I truly loved and that was pretty rare for me. Several years back I had been pretty passionate about other franchises like Star Wars, Stargate, Fringe and Hannibal but this modern fairy-tale world was truly something different. And I know a lot of that can be said to be thanks to the Frozen-story. No offence to the main cast, but I would be lying if I didn't credit Georgina, Elizabeth Lail (Anna), Scott Michael Foster (Kristoff) and Elizabeth Mitchell (Ingrid) as the true stars of the fourth season for me! They truly helped bring their characters to life and I still can’t picture anyone else playing them outside of animation (looking at you, Frozen live action-rumours). It should also be said that compared to the rest of the show’s characters, the Frozen characters did have a very strong presence on screen, a look and a feel that was carried over beautifully to the small live-action screen. I may not have known it at the time, but it would be equally true for the original movie.
About four weeks into the season, I knew for sure that I had found something that truly resonated with med and I knew I had to watch the "source material". But that will be a thing to cover in Part 2. 😉
See ya soon!

WHAT IF HANS DIED IN THE FIGHT OF THE SNOW CASTLE IN FROZEN
Okay, I just watched a YouTube Video about none of the movie regarding the character of Hans makes any sense in the Disney Film "Frozen" so by some thinking I was like: Hmm but what if Hans actually died while the Fight in the Snow Castle".
Now this is somewhat dark for a Kids movie but taken in how many deaths we actually already saw in Disney movies mostly due to falling it seems logical that if they had the balls to follow this road they sure would make Hans fall down the stairs to Elsas ice palace. He fought Marshmallow and just like in the movie the Monster would get him down with him only that this time, Hans wouldnt be able to hold onto the saving edge and gets rescued. He falls down with him and dies.
That would be most likely, however a death I very much prefer, even though it would be way to violent for a kids Film is the Following:
Hans and the men made it into the castle and with one of my favorite lines "Dont be the Monster they fear you are" he stops Elsa from killing the two men of the duke. One of them holds their arrow at Elsa ready to shoot her, but luckily for the Queen Hans detects the danger and is able to guide to arrow to hit a chandelier instead of Elsa... only this time he jumps right in front of her. He saves her life but died in the process
Now what would his death mean and what would follow up ?
In both visions he would die as a hero. He died trying to save Anna and protecting Elsa.
Imagine Anna coming home, almost freezing to death, and asking to see her fiancee only to be told that he is dead. This would shatter Annas whole World, not only because she already lost her parents and now is told that another Person she loved is dead, but also she lost her one chance of being saved. Im sure one of the guards also told the story that Elsa is personally responsible for Hans death, so until the very end of the movie Anna would live with the thought her own sister murdered her fiance and she would slowly freeze to death.
As for Elsa she would be overwhelmed for sure. Leaving out the possibilty that she developed a crush on the prince, not acting on it because her sister wanted him too out of side, it happened indirectly because of her. Her biggest fear is hurting someone she loves and him being so important to Anna is enough for Elsa to rather die than hurt him and now hes not only hurt, he is dead. If he died to protect her Elsa would probably collapse from guilt and pain and the guards have every oppurtunity to kill her. But if we imagine if they had mercy with her and only lock her up, she would face her death with pleasure because she thinks she ripped an innocent young man from him life.
If his family would actually care for Hans it would start a war between the two kingdoms because they blame Arendelle that their youngest son/brother is dead. But as we learned they are all abusive assholes who couldnt care less so I guess nothing to be expected here
As for Kristoff, since he never met Hans it wouldnt have that much of an impact on him, but out of respect and knowing how much he meant to Anna he would wait to ask her out and be there for her and Elsa in the grieving process, same with Olaf.
All in all everything I just described would make so much more sense than that lazy ass Plottwist we got.

March-April Fanfiction Contest
Tumblr media
After the February intermission from the contest format, we’re formally starting the year 2023 with a bit of a shake-up - a March contest for the first time since 2019!
prompt: Journey. A roadtrip around the country (in a car or carriage)? Emotional growth that leaves you completely changed? Quest to destroy a powerful artefact in the place it’s been forged in, because no other force in the world is strong enough to even nick it? Whatever your reason is, take us (and Elsa and Anna) along on a journey this month. word limit: min. 1,500 and max. 7,000 words lemon: not allowed this month! T rating and below obligatory: do not mention Elsa’s powers (explained below) bonus: include the ‘only one bed’ trope, include a cow, title your story afer a Journey song (explained below)
Please also tag your story (if it has any of it) for: angst, tragedy, major character death, violence or abuse, suicide and self-harm mentions, horror elements or anything not mentioned here that you think might make your readers uncomfortable. Non-/dub-con is NOT ALLOWED, unless it is an important part of the story and not described in detail/used as cheap thrills/glorified. Be mindful and respectful.
Restrictions and Bonuses Click here for more detailed answers to user submitted questions. It will be updated if any more questions roll in, so keep it bookmarked!
OBLIGATORY restriction: powerless. For this month, your submissions cannot mention Elsa having supernatural powers whatsoever. For canon stories it means ignoring her canon ice powers in your story (we’re not asking you to rewrite the entirety of the Frozen canon, just not to have her use her powers or even have her or anyone else talk about them. This includes manifestations of powers such as Olaf), for any AU it means she needs to be an ordinary human - no powers of any kind, including cryptid abilities (so no vampires this time, sorry!). Obligatory restriction means if your story has Elsa with powers it will be disqualified.
DISQUALIFICATION means your story will still be posted (unless it breaks our general contest rules) but will not be eligible to go into voting and win.
Bonus 1: There was only one bed. Have Elsa and Anna share a bed out of necessity or pragmatism. To qualify for this bonus, Elsa and Anna (specifically, not with anyone else) need to find themselves in a situation where they have to share a bed while it is not something they’re used to doing often (i.e. them being a married couple sleeping in the same bed will not count.)
Bonus 2: Cows! Include at least one cow in your story. To qualify for this bonus, the cow(s) needs to be either alive or a positive depiction (i.e. cow plushies, animated/real cows on tv, etc.) The cow cannot be a burger, leather belt, a carcass etc.
Bonus 3: Sing-song title: Journey 50th anniversary edition. Title your story using a Journey (the band) song of your choice - you can go with the song’s title or the lyrics. If you go with the lyrics, your title needs to be minimum 3 and maximum 6 words long. We will be keeping a list of submitted/reserved titles that you’ll be able to access to make sure you’re not submitting doubles! The titles of Don’t Stop Believing and Any Way You Want It are banned from this bonus, please check out the FAQ for more info!
These are not obligatory restrictions, however following them will be rewarded with an additional point in the favorites column for every bonus. In other words, stories that don’t include any of the restrictions will start off with 0 base favorite votes, those that do - with 1, 2 or 3.
Please write down where and how you used the bonuses AND which song you decided to use for the title at the beginning of the submission to make sure the mods can verify your points (the note will be removed before posting except for the song.) If you’re not sure if your story meets the requirements for the bonuses, you are free to contact us to check.
Read the contest rules before participating. We’ll be accepting submissions through the submit button on our blog starting today till Midnight (on Baker Island, GMT-12) of April 8th (to account for Elsanna Week for those participating). Please remember to submit anonymously to make sure the voting is impartial!
If you have any questions, read the month’s FAQ, send us an ask or join us on discord.
Happy writing!

A Tumblr Essay in Response to Youtuber Aldone’s Video Essay Titled “Why Elsa IS A Bad Character”
Tumblr media
This is the first time in forever I use anti-tags in this blog, but I have to protect myself. To be fair, this is Tumblr and you have full freedom to block me after reading this post, so bear with me.
And I will close the comment session for this one because I imagine I would be exhausted to deal with it in this particular post. Forgive me for my cowardness.
 Caveat:
Trigger warning: This post has mentioned misogyny, mental illness, and cyberbullying.
I should first explain my relationship with Frozen franchises. When Frozen was out, I was a little 13~14 gremlin. I seldom went to theatre for a movie in my entire life, and I am still the same now. In the 23 years of my life, I have ever gone to a movie theatre three times. Every other movie I watch is from DVD renting stores or Disney Plus. Therefore, when I watched Frozen 1, it was when our music teacher in the high school decided to play the film in the class as Frozen 1 was a musical (so it qualifies as teaching material in a music class I guess).
I am a cis woman who once succumbed to 1990s feminism—I refused to have anything to do with feminine qualities as I’ve never learned make-up and dress-up. So Frozen actually resonated with a part of me that I had never thought existed—I saw the girl who wished to be seen as more powerful and tougher in the characterization of Elsa in Frozen 1. But at the same time, the influence of 1990s feminism in me told me that I should feel ashamed for liking Frozen 1. I refused to tell anyone (including my family) that I love Frozen, except my closest friend in the high school.
Once, I had to confess to my younger sister because she found me drawing Elsa fanart. I confessed: “I love Frozen, yes. Your super masculine-looking sister loves Frozen. Could you let me be and don’t tell my Mom? I can’t deal with how she would think of me if she knows I love Frozen.”
I love Frozen. I love Frozen Fever. Olaf's Frozen Adventure is mostly repetitive for me but I still feel the warmth when the sisters sing “When We’re Together.” I understand there are flaws in these films, but hey, I have a fun time watching those films, and they would be a big part of my teenage years.
But I don’t like Frozen 2. I personally disagree with many of the creative choices in this film, which I don’t think I would go too much into in this post. But just so you know: I am an Asian and I once wrote Frozen fanfiction and did prompts occasionally on the Internet platform in my own country. Once my criticism of Frozen 2 was known by the Frozen fans in the Internet community in my country, I was cyber bullied to the point of depression and despair.
That is my story about my relationship with Frozen franchise. I believe Youtuber Aldone has his story of his…somewhat love-hate relationship with Frozen franchise told again and again in his video. (Yeah today I’m going to express my personal opinions on this video essay)
Aldone, if you are reading this, I would like to say that the purpose of writing this post is not out of mean spirit or hatred against you. It is me doing the thing I am more familiar with—writing, to express my thoughts on your several points in this video. I think we can agree to disagree, it’s the purpose of a conversation even though we have never met. I appreciate your effort to put the original video together, as I understand how much work it takes to make a video because I have edited crappy videos for my school projects before.
But I am here just to provide my opinions, nothing more, nothing less. Perhaps by doing so, I can finally have more peace with a part of me that was once obsessed with this franchise. I could finally be free from the prison of this obsession.
And to anyone who cyberbullies Aldone after reading my post, I just want to say: fuck off from my lawn and you are the worst.
Then shall we begin?
Pardon me for not quoting Aldone’s original video quote-by-quote. I would write this in bullet points, but I would simply the arguments Aldone attempted to make rather than quoting them with composing a Tumblr post purpose
  1. Aldone: “Elsa’s parents are the worst royal parents in Disneyverse, they were portrayed in a positive light, but everything they did as parents were horrible to Elsa. The issue is the film never made it clear that Elsa’s parents were bad parents.”
My counterpoints: The thing with parenting, imo, is you can love your children but still fuck up the parenting. You can love your children but still gaslight them subconsciously so they will learn better, even if you mean no ill will. Their parents’ flaw was that they didn’t know how to confront Elsa’s emotions after the Anna incident. If Frozen 1 tried to flat-out portray Elsa’s parents as characters like Mother Gothel, manipulating Elsa just for their personal gain, then honestly I would be disappointed. It would not necessarily be a bad story, per se, but how I view Elsa’s parents is: they tried their best to protect Elsa, but they messed up.
“Do You Want to Build a Snowman” for me, it’s a heart-wrenching experience as I feel bad for both Anna and Elsa. Parents served as a purpose to fuel Elsa’s fear further, rather than being a pair of good parents.
The thing about this world is that love is not enough for salvation sometimes. And love sometimes is poison. I don’t agree with the view that there’s “fake love/just obsession” and “true love.” Love is a fact, love is an emotion, but love sometimes will not necessarily make you a better person.
But I gotta say, as a fellow who dislikes Frozen 2, I agree it makes no sense in retrospect considering Iduna had some experience with magical spirits so I am mainly talking about Frozen 1 here.
  2. Aldone: “’ For the first time forever’ is good until Hans ruined it because upon re-watching, we know Hans was the true villain. So the contrast between Anna and Elsa in this song is weakened. This song is supposed to be about the hero vs. the villain. (Aldone did not say this in this bracket, but I guess he wanted something like ‘Out There’ in Hunchback of Notre Dame from ‘For the First Time in Forever.’)”
My counterpoints: I am sorry, Aldone. But pardon me for being blunt: I think you grapple with the idea of “Elsa was supposed to be the main villain in the first draft” too much, to the point that you couldn’t see what Frozen is now as an end product on its own.
Yes, I admit it is always interesting and important to understand the creators’ intentions. But sometimes, I would choose to embrace “The Death of the Author” more to free my expectations from those interviews from the creators.
So what’s my point here? My view on “For the First Time Forever” is: This is a song about fear, the very core theme of this film. It is not about good and evil, but it is about how two sisters deal with their fear. Now, you might ask “Well, it is obvious for Elsa, but what do you mean on Anna’s end?” Anna was isolated by her sister without understanding the reasons, her fear was: what if the coronation party couldn’t solve her isolation?
I know it all ends tomorrow
So it has to be today
'Cause for the first time in forever
For the first time in forever
Nothing's in my way! (Anna’s verses from “For The First Time in Forever”)
While I personally don’t agree with the choice to make Hans the twisted villain, I do not agree that Hans ruined the song. The contrast between Anna and Elsa in this song still works even if Hans exists, because, for me, Hans’ problems have nothing to do with the brilliant writing in this song and the reprise.
  3. Aldone: “’ Let It Go’ is bad for character development because it sends a bad message. It looked like woman empowerment but felt flat because when Elsa built the castle, she didn’t face the consequences of her actions.”
My counterpoint: I think a comment under Aldone’s original video said it better than me: “Let It Go” is about Elsa being a hypocrite.
Yes. And I mean it. Elsa was hypocritical in this song. She sang about being free and could use her power in her will, but she chose to close the gate (of the balcony) right in the face of the audience. She was blinded by her desire to be free from her lifelong fear, but she didn’t realize her ice castle was just another prison for herself because her mind was never free from her fear for real. I feel like I am not reading too much in that particular frame of closing the gate right in the audience’s faces??? I just feel like…the metaphor ain’t that subtle???
Well, people always told me that I read too much in everything. I guess that’s how I function as a human being named Levi.
“Let It Go” was unfortunately framed as woman empowerment because of its fame. Let me say this: If you really have ever watched AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” you would understand the scene when Walter White said “I AM NOT IN THE DANGER, SKYLAR—I AM THE DANGER” is one of the most pathetic moments of the character of Walter, rather than how mainstream critics interpreted as “badass.”
Now, you could say “But this song was supposed to be a villain song! They ruined this song by making Elsa not the villain in this film!” Then pardon me for being a broken record: Embrace The Death of the Author. The song was not ruined, the misinterpretation of the mass did.
Finally, I just would like to add something to “she didn’t face the consequences of her actions.” I think: “For the First Time in Forever (Reprise)” is her consequence. You could argue that this consequence was far from enough, therefore, Elsa never learned from her mistake.
I would like to remind you that feeling guilty doesn’t necessarily make a human being a good person. Oppenheimer was crushed by his crippling guilt after WW2, did that make him a good guy?
Elsa felt the guilt, that was her consequence, and yes, she tried to run away from it, but that made her human. The inability to face her fear was her major character flaw.
But dear Aldone, pardon me but: Having character flaws doesn’t make a character badly written.
  4. Aldone: “We don't know what is Elsa thinking that much in the course of the film. (He implied that just seeing how her magic respond to her emotions felt flat in term of characterization) She was too passive in Frozen 1.”
My counterpoint: A character does not necessarily need to be proactive/having their own agency to be compelling. Elsa’s battle in Frozen 1 is her battle within her fragile heart. I understand Elsa felt more like a tragic character belonging to a Greek myth than a main hero/heroine in a Disney film, but to me, personally, that is her charm at least in the first film.
Sorry, this one I only have my own opinions to say rather than delivering anything else more elaborating.
  5. Aldone: “It felt forced that Elsa was brought back to Arendelle rather than realising her mistakes on her own. It’s nonsensical for Elsa to escape the whole kingdom after realising the horror consequence of her actions.”
My counterpoint: She was dealing with trauma just evoked by the confrontation with Anna—She just literally re-created the horror haunted in her imagination after the incident in her childhood, I personally think it’s unfair to expect her to react rationally at this scene.
  6. Aldone: “Hans' existence ruins Elsa's character arc as well because Elsa is now forced into a hero character which she was never meant to be. She has never faced her consequence.”
My counterpoint: I understand where you came from. But I wouldn’t call Elsa a hero/heroine. I would call her an interesting character, as I have no interest in classifying them into heroes or villains.
I would say: blame the masses for misinterpreting “Let It Go.”
I am sorry for sounding so irresponsible of my own claim in this particular session.
  7. Everything in the Frozen 2 session.
My response: I fully agree other than I think Elsa’s character was handled WAY WORSE than her in Frozen 1 personally. But it would require another long post. I have severe PTSD response to watching anything related to Frozen 2 because it evokes memories related to the cyberbullying against me in my country during its release. So no. I do not wish to explain why I personally dislike Frozen 2 on this site at least any time soon. And I do not wish to have anything to do with #BringElsaHome. I dislike it for its plot and character development.
 Please forgive my cowardness.
  8. So Levi, are you saying Frozen 1 is Pogger, and Elsa is a good character?
My answer: Elsa in my opinion, is relatable and compelling, as a woman whose major flaw was her need to escape her fear, but never realized that such desire would worsen her fear. She is by no means a bad person, but neither is she a pure-of-heart innocent cinnamon roll. I love her as what she was in Frozen 1 and her character is one of the most interesting for me in the Disney animation movies. And I am sorry, I tried my best, but I dislike Frozen 2 personally.
Elsa’s story in Frozen 1 was not about her personal growth, but rather about how such a powerful (magically) woman needs something with human warmth in order to have a chance for her salvation.
You might ask: Does such a “terrible(TM)” person like Elsa deserve salvation even to begin with? My response would be: In my opinion, characters respond to the situations around them with their own blind spots and their limited information like each of us is in the real world. Elsa, in my opinion, at least in Frozen 1, had tried her best despite all her faults. And that to me, earned her a shot for salvation, which was Anna.
And I love Anna as a character. But I just love flawed characters more when I consume fictional stories.
I understand why Elsa’s character arc didn’t resonate well with other people, and I respect their opinions, as everyone can have their opinions.
Finally, I just wish to write some words, and immense myself in my own words so I could reflect on myself more. The fact that I love Frozen and I can’t change my own opinions has plagued me for a long while. I know the fault is mine, and I am currently trying my best to improve my self-esteem.
At the end of the day, let me quote this from Breaking Bad to explain the essence of this whole long post:
“I did it for me. I liked it. I was good at it. And I was really, I was ALIVE.”
 LeviChou out.

#6 Frozen 2
You're probably all wondering why I chose Frozen 2 over the original movie. Well you'll find out during my review.
Tumblr media
I wanna start by saying this movie has a much better plot than the original. It included both characters equally, I believe in the first movie it targeted Anna more than it did Elsa when they both deserved equal attention. This movie was also way more emotional than the other movie it had me crying tears of joy and sadness at the same time which is a quality I find important in a movie. The original movie also made Elsa look like the villain for the most of the movie when she didn't deserve that at all, she was in a position none of us could understand. One aspect I did enjoy more in the first movie was the love between sisters, I have two older sisters and seeing this sister love makes me think of my sisters and how happy I am that we're all very close and share this love for one another. Now that I addressed why the first movie wasn't my favrouite let's talk about why the second one is my favrouite.
Tumblr media
First things first Anna and Elsa both looked AMAZING in this movie, the editors did a great job with their appearance. Both sisters look so much older and more mature than the first movie. I loved this small detail since it showed us that they both grew since the first movie and have more knowledge on how to work together. I love that they changed their outfits completely and didn't reuse the original ones, this proves to me they put effort into this movie.
Tumblr media
In this movie I have two favorite songs that I can't pick in between the first song is, into the unknown. The vocals in this song are amazing there is no doubt if you disagree you're wrong, simple as that. Idina Menzel who voices Elsa did amazing she hits a whole ton of high notes perfectly, I was genuinely in shock the first time I heard this song the vocals were just amazing. The vocals in this song are WAY better than the vocals in, let it go, she truly outdid herself with this song. Another thing I loved about this song is how much we find out about the past of the kingdom, in most Diseny songs there is a story however in this one it was so clear and easy to follow even without the visualls I understand what is going on and i just enjoy the fact that the stroy was so clear.
Tumblr media
The next song I love is Lost in the Woods. This was the first time we truly saw Kristoff's emotions, I never really knew what was going on in his head but after listening to this song it made everything more clear. This song made me see him as more of a main character than a secondary character, it definitely gave him more of a personality. Jonathan Groff killed this song, his voice was so smooth and the words just rolled off his tongue, I remember obsessing over this song for at least 3 months. I downloaded this song while walking out of the movie theater and played it on repeat for the next 2 weeks, there wasn't a day that passed without me listening to it for a very long time. I remember being in grade 10 math class and listening to this song everyday with my friend Sasha.
Tumblr media
This scene right here where Olaf dies broke me, I didn't recover for a few days. Olaf is my favorite character he makes me think of my dad with his personality and jokes so watching him die had me bawling my eyes out. I don't think he deserved his death so i'm happy he came back at the end of the movie, if he hadn't this definitely wouldn't be in my top 10. He is such a lovable character so if he didn't end up coming back I would never forgive Disney. During his death I just wanted to walk out of the theater it was unacceptable.
I can't really think of any negatives about this movie, it's just not the first movie I would pick to watch when i'm bored. I love this movie so much I just wouldn't be able to watch it every week like I could my number 1, I feel like I would get tired of the movie if I watched it to much, which is way I won't watch it to often but when I do, god I love it. For those reasons I rate this movie 6 out of 10 of my favorite Disney movies.
#1 movie hint: Christina Aguilera sang one song in this movie and it said it launched her career.

In The Season of Love
A/N: Just a small early Christmas present for my good friend, @Nataliepthatsme. This small fanfic will be based off from a scene from The Swan Princess Christmas with a Cuphead twist. All of the characters from the Cuphead franchise belong to StudioMDHR while Audrey, Josh and Monica belong to Natty and the song, “Season of Love (the movie version)” is from The Swan Princess Christmas. If anyone wants to know how the song goes, try checking it up on YouTube. Hope you like it, Nat.
************************************************************************
It is Christmas on the Inkwell Isles and everyone is getting into the spirit.
While everyone is hustling and bustling to buy some gifts and some tasty foods for the big dinner on the most wonderful time of the year and decorating their homes to add in some extra festive sparkle, the residents of Inkwell have one special tradition that takes place before Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Every year, all of the good people of the Isles gather round the biggest and oldest pine tree in a peaceful little grove in the heart of the Inkwell Woods and decorate it with colourful lights, the dazzling tinsel and set the Christmas Star atop of it. Not only that, but they also place on handmade Christmas ornaments made based on the acts of good deeds and happiest memories the residents had made over the years. It was a charming Christmas tradition on all of Inkwell that had passed down from generations and years ago.
They call it “Ornament Day”.
And for Audrey and her husband, Josh, this wasn’t just their first Christmas on the Inkwell Isles but also their very first Ornament Day.
Over at certain cottage, an overly enthusiastic Elder Kettle swung the window open from his bedroom as he joyfully hollered: “IT’S ORNAMENT DAY!!”
This caught Cuphead and Mugman’s attention as they were in the middle of playing marbles, instantly stopping what they were doing in glee.
“Ornament Day?!” The brothers echoed.
Meanwhile, over at The Flytrap, the frog brothers, Ribby and Croaks were overjoyed as they were on stage and cheered out to their guests: “It’s Ornament Day, folks!”
Over at the Honeycomb Herald, Rumor Honeybottoms was just as overjoyed as she sighed, “Ornament Day… how I love it.”
All through town, the newspaper trucks zoomed by as the papermen tossed out the bundled piles of the latest issues of the Inkwell Blotter titled, “ORNAMENT DAY IS HERE!”
Over at the theatre, Audrey had just finished helped Sally Stageplay decorating the place for the holidays and for a special showcase that Sally and her work staff hold every year.
“Thank you so much for the help, Audrey dear.” Sally said as she and Audrey met up with her husband, who was holding out her coat. “It means so much to mean that we get the theatre into its most festive shape for the yearly Christmas Spectacular this year.”
“I’m always happy to help, Sally. You know that.” Audrey smiled. “So, what else were you going to tell me after that?”
“I thought you would like to know about a very special tradition we all hold every year on our dear Isles.” Sally explained as her husband helped her into her coat. “You know about Ol’ Noel?”
“Oh! You mean the oldest pine tree over at that grove in the woods?” Audrey asked. “Yeah, the boys showed her to Josh and me during our nature walk yesterday.”
It was true. It had snowed and Audrey had always loved it when there’s snow at Christmastime. Cuphead and Mugman had asked her and Josh to come for a hike in the woods with them through the snow and they led them into the grove where the tree that everyone affectionately named “Ol’ Noel”.
She was rested in the centre of a charming little grove that reminded Audrey of the one from the scene where Anna, Kristoff and Sven first met Olaf from Frozen, surrounded by frozen, glistening willow trees and a frozen lake suited for iceskating. It was so breathtakingly beautiful.
“Well, every year, everyone gathers over at Ol’ Noel’s to make her just as dazzling but we also present her special ornaments that the good people have made in memory of our past good deeds and all the special moments we have together.” Sally explained. “It takes place before Christmas Eve. We call it ‘Ornament Day’.”
“That sounds like a cute tradition.” Audrey commented with a smile.
“Indeed, and for us, it is just as valued as Christmas itself.”
And what is a good old Christmas special than a festive and catchy Christmas song that can warm every heart?
Sally: 🎶 Bells ring!
Her husband: 🎶 Heart sing!
They both take Audrey by the hands and lead her out of the theatre, leading her through town to show her the festivities of the people getting ready for the occasion as they sang themselves.
Townspeople: 🎶Come see what love brings!
Over at the bakery, Saltbaker is happily decorated some shortbread cookies after he got them out of the oven.
Saltbaker: 🎶 Pictures tell a story of two hearts full of love They’re sharing a memory of caring and tender rejoicing
After he had finished adding the finishing touches, he walked over to the window to show off the cookies to Audrey, Sally and her husband, offering some.
Meanwhile, over at the tailors, a grandfatherly human toon is happily making some Christmas stockings quickly, piling them up (cartoon logic).
Tailor: 🎶 It’s the season of love that comes at Christmastime!
Audrey turns to see the residents happily showing her their Christmas ornaments. Even some pets and inanimate objects that suddenly sprung to live (again, cartoon logic) were holding some ornaments.
Eddy Elephant: 🎶 We live it
Grandma Ellie Elephant: 🎶 Love it
Little Toon Rabbit Girl: 🎶 Beg it to come
Townspeople: 🎶 And want it to stay
Sally: 🎶 To have the season each day
Everyone: 🎶 It’s the season of love
Over at the jeweller’s, an elderly toon dog named Mr. Rover was asking the local jeweller clerk to help spruce up his old Christmas ornament.
Mr. Rover: 🎶 Lulu’s lost her lustre Will you help make her shine?
The jeweller was happy to help as he added in a gemstone onto the ornament. Just as Mr. Rover paid him, the jeweller generously and secretly placed the coin inside his back pocket.
Jeweller: 🎶 A jewel in this spot… And your coin in your pocket for Christmas
Audrey watches on as everyone is helping one another about. Even the Root Pack were on their best behaviour as they helped hurl some carts of goods into a loading truck.
Everyone: 🎶 It’s the kind acts of love That makes a Christmas shine We’re lighter, brighter Wiser by far
Out in town, Saltbaker and the tailor were passing the cookies and stallings to everyone, especially the children.
Tailor: 🎶 Because we follow that star
Saltbaker: 🎶 Because we find who we are
Audrey: 🎶 In the season of love
Later on, by sunset, everyone on the Isles gathered over at the grove in the Inkwell Woods and began t decorate Ol’ Noel, getting into the spirit of Christmas. Even Josh and Monica the fairy have arrived with Audrey.
Everyone: 🎶 Bells are rung Carols sung It’s begun Our glad Christmastime!
As everyone was preparing to get out the ornaments, Josh carefully reaches into a small box Mugman was hold up, pulling out a Christmas ornament he had made. With Monica and the Cups’ help of course.
As Josh happily gives it to her, Audrey was touched to see it was a light rosy pink glass bauble with figurines of Josh and herself in their wedding outfits inside. With Monica’s magic, the figures were actually dancing inside the bauble just like Prince Derek and Princess Odette from The Swan Princess.
Josh: 🎶 But when I give a gift from my heart
Audrey: 🎶 Then Christmas has finally arrived!
Waving her magic wand, Monica casted a spell to weave the Christmas lights and tinsel around the tree, leaving the everyone else to see to placing the ornaments on it.
Everyone: 🎶 There’s a magic that takes the fear out of living When you have it, there’s peace in your heart That’s what it does There’s a magic that’s found when you’re giving
As everyone placed the ornaments on each branch, they actually lit up and magical sparkles flow around them. It was not cartoon logic, but pure magic. The spirit of Christmas. Even Audrey and Josh were awed when their ornament did the exact same thing the moment they hung it.
🎶 There’s a magic that takes the fear out of living When you have it, there’s peace in your heart That’s what it does There’s a magic that’s found when you’re giving
Ms. Chalice was in her ghost form as she carried the Christmas Star and placed it atop of the tree. She returns to the ground and turned back to normal, revealing she is wearing an elegant light teal winter coat with white (fake of course) fur trimming, white earmuffs, orange gloves and orange winter boots.
Chalice, pulls Cuphead and Mugman into a hug as they, Audrey, Josh, Monica and Elder Kettle admired the beauty of the decorative tree.
🎶 And it’s here In the season of love
Working her magic, Monica casted a spell to turn on Ol’ Noel’s lights as making all of the willow trees in the grove light up in brilliant hues of blue and lilac, much to the awe of the residents as they cheered.
“Ohhhh! This is new!” Cuphead beamed.
“It’s beautiful!” Mugman sniffled happily.
“You can say that again, fellas.” Chalice chimed in.
“Works every time.” Monica said with a wink.
Admiring the beautiful lights, Audrey and Josh hugged each other.
“I think this will be the best Christmas ever.” Audrey commented.
“But it’s even better when I’m with the woman I love and married.” Josh smiled as he gently stroked her cheek, making her blush.
“Aww, you!” Audrey teased.
Just then, a mistletoe tied with a ribbon suddenly appears above them courtesy of Monica’s magic. Surprised at first, the couple looked at each other and smiled. And, just like from The Swan Princess, they kissed each other with Josh gently placing his hand at the back of Audrey’s head while she set her hand over his shoulder.
As they pulled away, gazed lovingly into each other’s eyes.
“Merry Christmas, Audie.” Josh sighed.
“Merry Christmas, Josh.” Audrey replied lovingly.
As she, her husband and all of the amazing friends they had made during their adventures on the Inkwell Isles, Audrey knew that this was truly going to be her most interesting and best Christmas for years to come.

May you have a very merry and magical Christmas, Happy New Year and may your dreams shine. ✨

What are some of your favorite Disney Princess films in general, but also what are all of them ranked to you? Like a numbered list, tier list, or just fave to least fave?
Tumblr media
My tier list!! I wouldn’t say it’s set in stone for some of the movies but I’d say overall accurate especially my top faves :3
I won’t say stuff about every film or placement but I can’t help say some stuff -
Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid are so high for similar reasons, they’re so charming and the music is gorgeous and catchy and fun! The style is lovely and I especially adore how The Little Mermaid has that late 80s Disney movie look to it, it’s hard to explain but it feels so organic to look at and I adore that <3 overall tho they’re beautiful love stories with amazing characters and visuals and music and I think it’s ‘nuff said :3
I mentioned this movie in my other answer to you but Cinderella 3 is SO GOOD like genuinely one of my fave Disney movies and everyone needs to see it now. It’s really good looking for a direct to dvd, and the way it builds tension is genuinely fantastic! Not to mention it’s a hilarious movie and is a great addition to the OG film in my opinion ^w^
Sleeping Beauty is fucking GORGEOUS. Have you seen those backgrounds, the character designs, the flair it all has?? There’s a reason they spent way too fucking much on this film that Disney almost had to file for bankrupt, this movie is beautiful and they really went all in and it in my opinion was totally worth it! (Plus, 101 Dalmatians saved their hides so it worked out in the end) plus I love the protagonists, the three fairies, Maleficent is an iconic lesbo dragon furry and it’s worth the time. I hate the Prince in the movie but it’s okay he doesn’t ruin it not at all XD
When it comes to Cinderella, Mulan, and Princess and the Frog, they’re all excellent in their own rights!! Just not in my top faves but definitely ones I enjoy to watch :3 yes this also includes LM2 it’s cheesy and stuff but I honestly enjoy it a lot and I have good memories seeing it with Luma :3 plus the climax scene is SO TENSE it actually makes me wanna hold my breath it’s genuinely terrifying imo
The middle tier with Moana, Tangled, Aladdin, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Frozen 2 are ones I enjoy for one reason or another I just don’t watch them a lot or wouldn’t lift them up higher ya know! Aladdin imo doesn’t really feel like a Disney princess movie but Jasmine counts so shrugs, I do enjoy her but she deserves better. These films are all great tho I just prefer others, but I still recommend these :3 notably I think Frozen 2 is better than 1, Frozen 1 I do not feel low about because of marketing (not saying that doesn’t play a part) but I just also think it’s too on the nose at times making fun of old Disney when, it’s like, it feels so tone deaf and hollow with those jokes and jabs. Also I think Olaf and Kristoff are annoying in both movies XD
Enchanted is good I just prefer animated films x3 Cinderella 2 is only in that tier too cause of the Baker and Anastasia tbh, their love makes my heart melt ;w; Brave is one I know you love and I prommy I don’t hate it!! I shut think it coulda been even better and it makes me sad how meddled it was in writing, but I can see why it could be a fave of someone’s!! Same with Frozen but eh..
Pocahontas my beloathed. Not only racist as hell but I just never liked it. Even if it somehow wasn’t racist or whatever I still find it boring. I like some of the music and I like the pug and the raccoon but that’s it, it’s a slog and it’s aged super bad and I didn’t even like it as a kid XD

Fierce & Feisty Friday
Every Friday can be fierce and feisty! Just post a snippet or excerpt with a character who's being extra fierce or feisty so we can all get in the mood for the weekend. Tagging: @keeshya6, @firawren, @true--north, @justfrozenthings, @annaofthenorthernlights, and anyone else that has something fierce or feisty to say!
This week, my fierce and feisty comes from The Magenta Cravat, a bittersweet love story about Hans and Elsa Addams (Frozen in an Addams Family AU).
🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤
They first met at his Mamushka ceremony, and Hans couldn’t take his eyes off of her graceful yet commanding presence.  In fact, he was so stunned by her that he would have fumbled the whole thing if his brother Olaf hadn't been there to coach him.  He ended up giving her the performance of his life, though it wasn’t enough to impress her.  His “disingenuous” and “over-the-top” charm and the boxy frame he hadn’t quite grown into weren’t enough to make up for his “barely adequate” dancing.  He even told her about his plans to take over the nearby town, but she said it was a “lowly goal” and scoffed at the idea that he could make her his first lady.  She even left him pinned against a wall with hundreds of sharp ice crystals when he wouldn’t leave her alone.
Utterly besotted from her brutal rejection, Hans vowed to himself and every Addams in the family cemetery (dead and alive) that he would become worthy of Elsa’s love.  So over the next four years, he worked hard to become something she’d admire, and more importantly desire.  He practiced the Mamushka every day, strengthened his body into a well-cut machine, and honed his now signature charm with every man, woman, and monster he came into contact with.  And, most importantly, he abandoned his feeble plans to take over the town in favor of world domination.  Elsa was born to be queen by birthright, and Hans couldn't believe he presented her with "First Lady" as his offering.
He wrote her love letter after unanswered love letter begging her to be the queen by his side, until she finally asked him to visit her so she could reevaluate him.  She lived at the top of a beautiful castle made of translucent lines and sharp angles, and Hans and Olaf were struck by its sublime loneliness.  She was an outcast in her town for her taste of the macabre and proclivities to the "dark" arts.  She would have been content living at the top of her ice palace, all alone as the last surviving member of the once great Arendellian royal family forever, but his promise tempted her. The promise of a life lived freely, among like-minded people who would appreciate her unique talents.  In the end, it was his dedication to her, his growth as an earnest, ardent admirer, that lured her down from her hilltop.
He came ready to fight the townspeople for her honor, knowing they wouldn’t let her into the town so easily.  Her very presence, even if for a few moments, drove them to homicide.  Hans thrived on such conflict, and he was eager to prove himself to his beloved Elsa.  He drew his practiced, though battle-shy, sword, as did his brother Olaf and his right-hand hand, Weasel.  Sven, his reindeer butler-turned-body guard (when needed), and his menacing antlers, stood ready for a quick escape and a brutal bucking if need be.
It was exactly the kind of party Hans and Olaf were expecting.  “Olaf, old boy, this is the best bachelor party I could ever imagine!”
Then his beloved started down the long stairway to the center of town, and all fighting stopped for a moment to watch this most beautiful creature descend to the mortal realm. The peace didn’t last long, though, and the horde of pedants rushed to the stairs with their torches and pitchforks to keep Elsa from what Hans believed to be true happiness in his loving arms.
“Well, how far are you willing to go for her?” asked Olaf.
Without hesitation, but with a fierce and protective look in his eyes never leaving her body, Hans said resolutely, “I would die for her.”
Olaf giggled, and said, “Well, today just might be your lucky day!”  And the two brothers forged on.
Before they could reach the mob, though, Elsa had cleared a bubble around herself to reveal her extraordinary magical powers Hans had heard legends about as a young child even.  First, it was a sphere of fire, which burnt the whiskers of those closest to her.  Then, she put out the fire with a wave of water from the nearby well, soaking even more townspeople.
“Say, that’s some bride you got there, Hans,” Olaf whispered with a nudge of his elbow.
Hans smiled maniacally, “Is she not the most magnificent creature you’ve ever laid eyes on?”
Olaf chuckled, and said with a slap on the back that caused Hans to cough, “Well, she’s not my type, but good for you!”
But Elsa wasn’t finished.  Next, she dried the townsfolk off with a harsh breeze that knocked most of them down.  Then, she turned the stone stairs into a giant rock monster which followed behind her, ready for her orders.
The townsfolk fled, and Olaf and Weasel bemoaned not being able to take any action, though Hans didn’t regret it for a second.
He changed his vows after witnessing Elsa’s display from “I want you to be my queen when I am king,” to “you are my queen and I want to be your king."
