This scene is just a little piece of happiness, isn't it? It's so fun, and sweet, and it really is a sentimental favorite of mine. 🥰 Unfortunately, Judy was really struggling with health issues during the filming of this movie, which resulted in many delays. By all accounts, however, Gene provided nothing but love and patient support to her during this difficult time. He's quoted as saying...“We loved her and we understood what she was going through, and I had every reason to be grateful for all the help she had given me.” It really does seem, that this movie is Gene's love-letter to her, and I think you can see it in his performance. 🤍 Despite all the difficulties, it's such a joyful and touching film, filled with happy moments like this one. I think that's a testament to Judy's incredible talent, as well as that of everyone involved. 🤍 Judy Garland & Gene Kelly, in "Summer Stock" (1950). 💕

finished up a mädchen in uniform drawing from a while ago, the acting and script in this movie is so SO good words cannot describe how bittersweetly sapphic this film is
Well, these two are being silly gooses, aren't they? 🤭 I love how Gene has his hand on Fred's waist. 🤗 By all rights, Gene & Fred should have been competitors, and the press/public often painted them as such...but something wonderful happened instead. They simply refused to be competitive with one another. They just kept respecting/loving each other, even helping the other through the untimely deaths of both their wives. 🥺 They were relentlessly supportive of and devoted to one another, and as time went by, they became the most adorable besties of all time. 🥰 These two were both masters of their craft, and also the epitome of classy gentlemen! My heart grows three sizes whenever I see them together. 🤍 This is a shot from their appearance in "Ziegfeld Follies" (1945). 💕
