I never realized how much I loved the glow cloud until this episode and I don’t think Cecil did either. The way he says the last lines of the episode, by the way one of the few times he’s changed from goodnight Nightvale goodnight, he says it so full of emotion and hate. But he’s also tired. Tired of Lubelle’s bullshit, tired of her trying to change his life, tired of his way of life being attacked, tired of being bothered. and I think that the old Cecil would have just rolled with the punches and accepted that life changes. Not now listeners oh no Cecil is getting ready for war

Kevin is absolutely trying to kill his strex pet. Since he's cecils double, and cecil hates strex Corp, and its very much implied that Kevin also tried to fight back hard at first and it seems he still is even after being sublimated into the smiling God cult, that makes sense. There's so many instances of defiance, of destain, for Lauren especially, that shine through that it can't be a coincidence
