This is Dozer. He was fatally shot by Olean NY Police and SPCA..Once again, the situation involved a pitbull owned by an abusive person. So the pitbull gets a bad rap because of poor judgement by so many. RIP Dozer, humanity is unkind. From the Law Office of Matthew Albert: A lot of people have been asking me to investigate this case and possibly sue the Olean PD if warranted. Upon speaking with an owner, reviewing photos, evidence, and speaking to witnesses... it isn't. That doesn't mean the Police and other agencies there, namely the DEC and SPCA, are without blame... they are not. The fact that roughly 15 grown men who are trained in combat and/or catching animals couldn't corral a seemingly calm dog is pathetic at best. An average group of poltergeists could catch a ghost easier than these guys bungled this job. Still, the law requires even more than incompetence to hold police accountable for killing a dog. Here are a few facts relating to this event. 1. The dog's name was Dozer. He was a five-year-old tan pit bull who somehow retained almost all of his good nature despite being consistently and utterly failed by humanity in his time on earth. Left to roam frequently, he was most often docile and loved attention from his neighbors, most of whom liked him... including the good gentleman who shot this video. That being said, dogs are not supposed to wander the streets untended in today's day and age... Dozer did have a bite history, the extent of which is somewhat in dispute. 2. Dozer's main owner had gone to jail the night before this incident for beating a woman with a brick. He often locked Dozer in a cellar or a room and exposed the animal to crack cocaine and other drugs. He also put Dozer on a chain in his yard frequently as well. 3. Several months prior to this incident... he beat Dozer, prompting Dozer to nip at him. He then STABBED Dozer. Ocean Police were called by the man's girlfriend... the same lady who was beaten with a brick last week. She was the one glimmer of light in Dozer's life. Despite her pleas, Olean Police did NOTHING to the stabber and let him walk, setting the stage for this ABUSE. #RIPDOZER #PITBULL #OLEANPD #OLEANNY #DOZER
