the amount of these genocidal freaks I’ve genuinely seen act like the only criticism of Israel is that Israelis are “unattractive” is insane. And then they post “evidence” of being attractive that’s almost exclusively white people and black people who are conventionally attractive to western beauty standards. I find it legitimately fascinating that the random people they choose aren’t typically ethnically Semitic because their entire stance on this seems to go to “we aren’t like those UGLY Jews you’re thinking of, see look we have aryan princesses here too!” and it’s just. What are we even doing here anymore?

They make these obvious sock puppet posts of “normal people” demanding an attractive Israeli be shown, as though the internet wasn’t all over Gadot when Wonder Woman came out, and then they post the whitest people I’ve ever seen and then maybe three black people for diversity. I don’t even know if I have the right words to describe how bizarre it feels for these colonizers to be upholding Eurocentric beauty standards as the go-to for what is attractive. Particularly the tags and notes on that post implying that those against Israel think Jews are ugly, which feels like it’s speaking on people who are more visibly ethnically Jewish, and then post their straight blonde or red hair, blue-eyed, button nose white woman who looks like she’s straight out of an early 00’s disney channel original series.

It’s just. What statement are they trying to make by saying the attractive Jews are the ones who look just like a typical white Catholic from Beverly Hills? It just feels. Off.

Katniss’ hair colour...

Ok, controversial opinion maybe, but this has been driving me insane for years. 

This is a direct quote from the The Hunger Games, and the first mention of Katniss, describing both herself and Gale’s appearance..

“I watch as Gale pulls out his knife and slices the bread. He could be my brother. Straight black hair, olive skin, we even have the same gray eyes. But we’re not related, at least not closely. Most of the families who work the mines resemble one another this way.”

Why, oh why, do people insist on changing the colour of Katniss’ hair in their fics?  By the same token, if you change Katniss’ hair colour, why not change Peeta’s hair colour to red or brown?

It’s bad enough that they gave Haymitch merchant colouring in the movies. 

I’m sorry, but when someone describes Katniss hair colour as anything other then black, or shade of black (e.g. raven)  I find it immediately jolts me out of the story, and throws the character off balance for me, and I am immediately put off reading any further. 

Katniss’ black hair is as integral a part of her, as Peeta’s blond hair is a part of him.

I’ve needed to get that off my chest for a long time.

These are my interpretations of three goddesses that are each associated with hunting and archery. From left to right, they are the Greek Artemis, the Egyptian Neith, and the Norse Skadi. I doubt these goddesses are actually related to one another, but I thought it was a neat coincidence that the three ancient mythologies best known to the modern public happen to all have goddesses that share the bow-hunting theme.

I find ironic that Greek Americans exist in the USA in a big number and they are known for their celebrations like the 25 of March, there's noo way they haven't noticed that Greeks are not the "olive skin" they picture.

I think this stereotype exists because many Americans visit Greece during summer and they will see that many of them got tanned (because forbid even with sunscreen the sun here is too hot xd).

So because most USian people during summer they fail to understand that Greeks have a lot of white skin in other seasons, that's why they act suprise if they see a Greek having a skin like snow white. 😅

Yes, and also "olive skin" is not what they think it is! (As you said) USians made a whole ass racist category for a skin that has a potential to tan - and often Greeks with olive skin don't even tan - that makes the skin 2 shades darker than a German🤦 And this category is also fake because 1) that's not what olive skin is!!! 2) Greeks don't have olive skin. People all over the world have olive skin, including a certain amount of Greeks! There are no "olive skin peoples"! That's so damn racist 😩
