Don’t Worry Darling... if this doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about the movie and the PR relationship
Both Jeffery (Harry’s manager) and Mike Navarra (the head of Columbia) post the clip but not from the Warner Bros account or Florence who’s the main lead... nope Olivia. Jeffery also writes “from director @olivia.wilde” and doesn’t even tag Harry or any of the cast (like really? Not Harry and not even Florence which come on- this is the man that on any sort of promo post he doe tags the entire team...)
This is a teaser trailer so as an actor whenever something from your upcoming film gets released you post the living sh*t out of it.
- Kiki Layne (a queen at the Met Gala tonight) didn’t post anything or comment on Olivia’s video
- Gemma Chan (another Met Gala queen) didn’t post anything or comment on Olivia’s video
- Florence Pugh posted her own (as she should) but didn’t comment on Olivia’s video
- Asif Ali posted his own video and then commented on Florence’s post instead of Olivia’s (Flo responded too)
- None of Harry’s family (Gemma or Anne) reposted anything about the film and they post everything Harry does 10 seconds after it’s announced. Update: Anne did but she posted the HSHQ version not Olivia’s
- Harry had HSHQ post it instead of him (not uncommon but considering this is his big film break his team could of at least posted it for him on his account instead)
- None of the main cast liked (aside from Sydney Chandler and Nick Kroll but he’s a suck up in Hollywood) or commented on Olivia’s video (which is really telling because they had to work for/with her for months and it’s literally their film so this is probably the most telling of how things ended amongst her and everyone else involved).
And for those speculating my best friend works at Warner Bros as a coordinator in their global publicity department and this film (at least since June) was always anticipated to be a spring/summer 2022 release. Mainly because Warner Bros has invested much more money than anticipated and need to at least see if the film can be salvageable for award nomination season. One thing Warner Bros loves to do is push festival screens for films that have big names but might not be able to grab an audience on the content only (ex. The premier of Dune at the Venice film festival. That’s a film that everyone that’s seen it has said is good cinematically but hard to follow but people are excited because of all of the Zendaya and Timmy content). There’s a very high chance they will try and do something similar next year with DWD to try and create buzz through these more “organic” press moments and try and get that excitement to carry over to film release day.
Few words about everything that happened and as usual my point of view
So Olivia dancing in Las Vegas. Are we even surprised at this point. Now every article point out that "SHE IS HER BOYFRIEND NUMBER ONE FAN!" I bet she only knows watermelon sugar and what makes you beautiful lol. And just after the cringe dancing shit show she played the mum card by posting pic with Daisy doing peace signs. They left "together" the arena but walked 2 meters away from each other speaks volumes
About Harry Las Vegas show was different. Like he probably was nervous but still he was reserved imo. Then we got no Olivia concerts and he was glowing literally. He is joking with fans, doing silly dance moves and finally being himself. In his free time he is playing golf and walking. Just enjoying his time.
Pap pics of Olivia leaving the famous love nest. Jason is in LA too so kids are there too. She is probably going to the next shows since dwd teaser was released. Or she is working on dwd since we had 3 test screening and again it wasn't so good
And now the don't worry darling teaser
Okay Flo looks gorgeous (except the kiss scene like I knew Harry likes fishes but he is literally acting like one) Chris Pine too, Harry well we haven't seen him properly he is kissing her with mouth open and is in the background of Chris Pine and he is dancing. It doesn't look bad, the colors are nice and teasers look like that. But the funniest shit is that Florence didn't liked the Olivia's post, inestad she posted her own post and actually Flo post has more views than the Olivia one. Harry's team and friends comment and even shared it to their ig stories but I think is because this is Harrys first "big role" and they are excited to see him. Harry posted his own teaser instead of reposting hshq or Olivia one also speaks volumes. He didn't wanted to have it on his feed. And honestly I'm surprised that he posted it since hshq posted it. Anne done repost from hshq inestad of Olivia is also funny. The main cast didn't interacted with the director of the film and it's not common in the Hollywood. And deuxmoi liked Olivia post so
And one last thing ignore Olivia. No matter what she does and will do just ignore. There is high chance that she will appear at the st Louis show so just ignore her ffs
Alright so this is for people who say that us calling out O is misogynistic.
Definition of misogynistic- feeling, showing, or characterized by hatred of or prejudice against women : of, relating to, or being a misogynist.
I'll tell you what being misogynistic is. Remember how everyone criticised Taylor for writing about her exes and SUCCEEDING and outselling all the other artist? That is it. She was criticised because she's a woman and great at her job. Not to mention literally everyone in the music industry is writing about their love lives. They hated that a woman did a job well and managed to outnumber the other artists who've been in the industry for so long. This is misogynistic. That is sexist.
I attended this lecture by a famous Feminist in college in my first year and while talking about it, the topic of misogyny and patriarchy came up. You call someone misogynistic when they put down women for no apprent, justified reason and whatever reasons they give are usually very very petty. Now in our case, we called someone out who blatantly expressed homophobia, disregard of sex workers, racism, white feminism, an ableist. I don't think they're petty reasons especially during these times.
For everyone who keeps saying that 'it was years ago, get over it' or 'you just need a reason to hate her' let me tell you the homophobic comment? It was made in 2019. I'm pretty sure she would've said alot more if the world hadn't gone into lockdown. You cannot justify someone's problematic actions no matter how much you adore them. They're always gonna be there tainting their entire personality. It is never ever too late to apologise for such things and the worst part that she continues doing it over and over again and plays cool about it.
The feminism she's promoting is so damn white. She calls herself an activist and does the bare minimum. She has millions of followers on Instagram and do you realise that she could actually do alot more than to post one informative article about a social issue which concerns women? It's Texas now, what will you do if other states turn just like that too? She's privileged as hell and she has no shame in flaunting it. Wearing a 'feminist' t-shirt does not make you one. That's performative feminism.
How on earth is this misogynistic? Do tell me. Doesn't this boil your blood? I don't even live in the US and it's stilll so scary to me. So please. Stop with the misogynistic comments or that we're sexist because the truth is that you're all blind by your devotion to HS. Just because someone is affiliated to someone you look up to doesn't mean you're obligated to like them. Speak up about the issues.
