Honestly, there's something about the sheer horror on Spock's face when he thinks he's killed Kirk in amok time that always hits me like a fucking truck.

Now, I know this discussion probably isn't anything new to the spirk community, but jesus christ. Every time I watch that scene, I go from "Oh my god this is so gay. How the hell did the writers and production team not look at shatner and nimoy rolling around in the sand together and go 'yeah seems totally heterosexual' " to "Oh my god. This is so fucking sad."

The pure horror and shock on Spock's face when he snaps out of the fever and realises what he's done (or what he thinks he's done) is so....AAAA

I can't even put into words how it makes me feel, it just makes me so not normal about the show and those two as a whole all over again.

Somehow they all think that Nico is obsessed with Mcdonald’s (even though it’s the ghosts who like the food)

People WILL somehow bring up Mcdonald’s when roleplaying

There is a definite infantilisation of Nico. The amount of times I have gagged over interactions because they treat my character like a child.

If I make jokes as Nico about his lack of self care, people immediately go to pull out the “I’ll call Will” card

I got the 10th anniversary edition of Fangirl for Christmas and finally got around to cracking it open and beginning to reread the book yesterday, and it's reminding me of why I started writing fanfics in the first place.

I posted my first snowbaz fic almost 5 years ago, and it's really interesting to think about how far both I and my writing have come in that time. It's also sad to think about how it's been like a year and a half since the last time I posted anything.

I feel like I just lost the time and the passion to write anything even though I kept telling myself that one day soon, I would come back to it and finish those unfinished fics and create new ones and participate in the events that I'm now running. It just hasn't happened yet, and it hurts to think about how much I used to love it, but now I just stare at blank doc for way too long before finally closing it again.

Rereading this book is changing how I feel though. It is the reason I started writing fanfiction in the first place, and now, I feel like it's beginning to spark that desire again. As I read it, new ideas for fics are coming to me, and I keep thinking about returning to a fic that was only 3 chapters short of being complete.

I'm hoping that I can ride this energy back into writing and start feeling like maybe I'm a part of this fandom that I used to love again.

actually on the verge of tears thinking about how after calypso's birthday ed must have woken up wrapped in Stede's arms, all soft and warm and safe. He got to watch Stede sleep and listen to his breathing... and then eventually he must have decided he wanted to do something nice for Stede, to make Stede feel just as loved as he felt in that moment!!!! And im just thinking about him carefully untangling himself from Stede's arms and sneaking out of bed, careful not to wake Stede up and going to make him breakfast!!! And even though the breakfast was kind of a jumble of random stuff it was made with so much love and I just,,..,,.., ARGHHG AUGGGHHHH OOOOHHHHH!!!!

There's something about Data's love for Sherlock Holmes that's so special to me.

The writers could've made him interested in something stereotypically tied to robotics or something like science or math, but they didn't. They gave him an interest in a detective book series from the 1800s.

I mean, sure, Sherlock Holmes is extremely popular and internationally loved (probably even still in the future), but the fact that they chose THIS SPECIFIC book series for Data to be interested in is something that is so so special to me.

Selena. She learned how to braid her own hair and soon enough her siblings started asking if she could do theirs. After a while, the Stolls convinced her to make a profit off of it, so she extended her services to the rest of Camp.

Selena eventually developed a sisterly bond with Annabeth, and insisted on doing her hair free of charge (“Hey Annababes, I wanted to try this new style and need a guinea pig. Mind if I borrow you for a second?”)
