Whatever the pink pills were, they seemed to take effect before they came within sight of the pastry shop. Beta became even more affectionate than before. She literally stomped on Alpha Gabriel like a vine, purring and giggling, and her pupils were like dinner plates. Dean wondered for a moment if she would even be able to get out of the limo, but strangely enough, she did. Not only that, she managed to put on a short black coat and grab a small gold purse that had been hidden somewhere between the seats. And she didn't have much trouble walking in high heels either, although she leaned against the Alphaa Gabriel the whole way to the entrance.

Dean walked at Castiel's side, his arm around his shoulders, turning from time to time to look at Sammy, who walked about a step behind them. Quiet and unassuming, as always, though he kept his head up and his shoulders straight, his chin jutting out with a determination that he showed the rest of the limo ride. And he managed to keep his pride and composure even when Gabriel laughingly asked him if he'd gotten 'it' going, and Dean was proud of him for that, even though he'd rather the oldest of the Alphas had kept his mouth shut.

For as heavenly as he had smelled, the omega looked a lot like Castiel needed to leave. His brows were drawn down over the bridge of his nose, his teeth bared in an angry snarl. Even with rusty people skills, Castiel could tell the omega felt threatened.

Castiel started to back away, not wanting the omega to see him as a threat. He had no right to be in the alley or impose on the omega’s space.

But something about the omega felt familiar, underneath the layers of dirt and a beard that needed a trim and a solid wash. Even though Castiel knew he had never scented that man before, he also knew they had met at some point.

Then it clicked.

**Trigger warning for non-con and abuse discussion**

I received the most amazing comment on one of my stories today on AO3, and I'd just like to take a moment to briefly discuss/unpack here.

"My Brother's Keeper, My Father's Prisoner" is an omega!verse story centered around Dean, and I start it off by breezing through some of his and Sam's past as kids, growing up on the road with John on hunts. Eventually, Dean presents as an omega, and his life changes in a dark, and traumatic way that ends up really damaging his psyche.

Anyways, without giving too much away, *spoilers in this post are inevitable, I'm sorry* John is very abusive towards Dean. In my last chapter, there's a short non-con scene that I had to be kinda picky-choosey in writing because I didn't wanna make it too wordy and lose my audience. It's hard when writing things like this to get the subtext or underlying meaning across sometimes because you don't wanna overload your readers with too much description, ya know?

That being said, I'm glad my subtext is still comprehensive, even if it's not being *physically* said. This whole comment hit the nail right on the head of what I was trying to convey! As someone who grew up in an abusive household, I tried really hard to pull from my experiences to make John's and Dean's interactions as realistic as possible, especially in the psychological aspects.

"Put the hood on," he ordered Sammy as they turned away from the school gate towards the car. The cold wind had been biting so hard since morning that the fan mounted on one of the windows overlooking his bedroom was spinning like crazy. That's why he'd almost forcibly stuffed his sweatshirt with a hood on Sam that morning.

"We're just going around the corner," Sam snapped.

Dean just rolled his eyes and reached up to put the hood on his head. The Alpha ducked away from his hand by leaning forward, letting Dean take a step, and then shoved him forcefully from behind. Stumbling forward with a curse on his lips, he balanced it out and turned straight to return Sam's shove.

"Bitch!" He growled through bared teeth and shoved at his chest.

"Jerk!" Sam snapped back, shoving him.

They briefly turned into a huddle of pounding palms, poking elbows, growling and teeth-appreciating, and would-be attempts to trip each other's legs before Dean managed to grab Sam from behind by the loose tie, stuff the damn hood on his head and pull the drawstring. Half of his overgrown hair stuck out strangely from his tightened ponytail. Sam blew it away sharply and rolled his eyes angrily at Dean.

He grinned and threw an arm around his shoulders.

"You're embarrassing me. And I look like an idiot," Sammy grumbled in displeasure, his scent a little pungent, but he didn't really try to get out of Dean's grasp. In fact, he leaned into him a little more.

Dean grinned again, amused but also pleased, and rubbed his chin against his head subtly, just a little. The little Alpha did look another disgruntled attempt at a growl, but he didn't resist this time either.

"You're in a good mood," he muttered instead.

Dean Winchester is a young Omega working three jobs to support himself and his abusive, alcoholic father. His dream is to help his aunt and uncle send his brilliant little brother to college.

One of the few bright spots for him is the job he works at a burger place called Mystery Spot, a restaurant owned by four Russian brothers that Sammy and Dean joke all the time is a front for a mafia. One day, however, when a man comes in and tries to kill Dean’s favorite Krushnic brother right in front of him, the Omega is forced to admit that maybe his running joke with Sammy isn’t too far off the mark.

As Dean is thrown into the world of the Krushnic mafia, he finds himself getting closer than ever to Castiel Krushnic himself. The Alpha seems to harbor a strange soft spot for Dean, one that grows more obvious and more confusing by the day. Suddenly, Dean has to wonder why the kindest person in his life is a mafia boss, and why said mafia boss is so dead-set on taking care of him.

It’ll take a very stubborn person to convince Dean he deserves that. It’s lucky Castiel Krushnic is a very stubborn man.

And then somehow Dean is part of a trio. A hunter, angel, and demon.
