Jealousy

Neteyam isn't proud of what he just did...

nope, not one bit, not the slightest, he should be ashamed of what he just did.

for context, he was minding his business, on a branch of home tree, fixing his knife making it sharper.

but he was disturbed by someone, a human girl not much younger than him.

she called for him, a little annoyed he abandoned his branch to met the girl.

her short brown hair was messy, inclined that she might have woke up not long ago, even if now was mid afternoon so it was a little strange someone would wake up now.

"Neteyam" she greeted formally and he greeted her too out of politeness.

"i would like to ask you something" she said and her face got to an red shape, some giggles came behind her and Neteyam noticed the girls -a mix between na'vi and humans girls- giggling behind this messy short brown hair girl, that he even forgot the name.

"what is it?" he asked

if she was gonna declare her love for him, he might be rude this time, in a week eight different girls asked to start courting or be their boyfriend.

he was obviously polite with all of them, explaining how he wasn't interested in any girl for the moment being.

but if this one too was gonna confess, he might as well yell that he liked mens.

the girl got redder in the face "i wo- would like to ask Miles out, do you know where he would like to go for a date?" she uttered out.

Miles? who was Mil- oh.

he could feel his body tense out of protectioness, his fangs coming out to be more intimidating for the girl, who rightfully took a step back seeing she provocate such a state in him.

"Spider" he corrected "and I'm so sorry to say it, but he doesn't like dates" he snarled, making the girl back off again.

one of her friends came close taking her gently away with by wrist, hissing slightly at Neteyam.

who responded back louder, before turning around to get back on his branch.

Neteyam seethed with anger as he watched the girl and her friends retreat. His heart raced with a tumultuous mix of emotions—anger, jealousy, and protectiveness. How dare she try to ask out Spider, his secret boyfriend, using his dead name?

He clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the handle of his knife. His fangs remained exposed, a clear warning to anyone who dared to disturb him.

As he returned to sharpening his knife, the rage inside him began to simmer, but the jealousy still burned brightly.

Neteyam took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.

i can't act like this, this is practically saying it to everybody, practically yelling it, and I'm in the main area too..

dad will be so angry with me as soon as he finds out what i did

The teen knew he had reacted strongly, perhaps too strongly.

His protective instincts had kicked in, and he had lashed out at the girl.

But he couldn't help it. The thought of someone trying to encroach on what was his, even if it was a secret relationship, was infuriating.

looking up from his knife and he noticed how the sun was starting to come down, it was the time.

every day, before returning to hell gates, Spider and Neteyam would meet, and spend an hour or so together.

Neteyam climbed down from the branch and started making his way through the lush, vibrant forest of Pandora, in search of Spider.

His heart still beat within jealousy and anger.

calming down a little only when he saw Spider, waiting for him meanwhile he was doing a flower crown.

smiling warmly when he saw Neteyam's figure.

the na'vi set next to his partner, and with not so much effort positioned him on his lap.

a small gesture that both boys liked.

Spider leaned in and lay on Neteyam's chest, continuing working with his colorful crown.

they were in a calm atmosphere, just them, the flowers and the sun going down.

their place, under a tree, their safe place.

some atrokirina was flying around, coming closer from time to time, but never touching one of the boys.

Neteyam feels ashamed not because of what he told the girls, but because he disturbed that calming atmosphere he and Spider had.

only because he could not let this feeling alone in his chest and heart, he could feel them becoming poison if he wouldn't act fast to stop them right away.

"you won't believe what happen today" he said angry

"what?" asked Spider frowning a little at Neteyam's tone, putting his uncompleted flower crown on the ground next to Neteyam's lap.

Neteyam mentally apologise for ruining the quite and lovely atmosphere.

"the girl you always with lately, the one with short brown hair-"

"Jessica?"

"Yes her, she and her friends disturbed me meanwhile i was sharpening the knife, and she asked me the vilest thing ever" There was a palpable sense of fury and vexation in his voice.

Spider was now sitting up, looking Neteyam in his eyes, concerned about what his lover might had encountered before they met.

"she asked me if you would like to go on a date with you" he said "and the worst part is that she said Miles and not Spider," Neteyam said indignated.

again, Neteyam apologies mentally when he saw Spider's face becoming of sadder expersion.

"She called me Miles?" he asked with a tiny voice, that Neteyam had never in twelve years of knowing him heard he use.

and he never wants to hear it again, Spider looking fragile? that really hit him then.

Neteyam brought the boy closer again, making him lay on his chest, and giving him a kiss on the head.

"I'm sorry" he apologies "if it makes you feel better i told her off immediately, she's probably crying right now"

"But i don't want her to cry," Spider said again with the tiny voice, that was killing Neteyam from the inside.

they stayed in that position for a bit, silent again but not nice like before.

"i don't want you to hang out with her anymore," Neteyam said "i do not want to be like those guys Norm makes us see in the magic human box-"

"TV" Spider corrected

"Same thing, the point is that i would prefer if you do not hang out with her anymore, please" he asked and Spider gave a slow nod.

"The way she called you, and without counting that she wants to go out with you"

"Oh," Spider said a little mockingly " Is Neteyam jealous? The mighty warrior Neteyam? The golden son Neteyam? The perfect Neteyam is jealous that a girl wants to ask out to his friend aka secret lover?" he asked with a chuckle, returning to a joyful spirit.

"...Lover is a bit to much-"

Spider pushed him on the ground and the boys started to play wrestling on the soft grass.

they stopped only when even the atrokirina annoyed at them placed themself on the boys's bodys.

"Is late" Spider noticed "do you think i deserve a kiss of goodnight?"

Neteyam nodded without hesitation, and as quickly as light he removed Spider's mask.

giving the human boy a soft kiss on the lips, before putting the mask right back on.

"i would like more" Spider said clicking his tongue.

"and i would like for you to not pass out," Neteyam said clicking his tongue too, but only to slightly annoy Spider.

they said goodbye not long after, getting both scolded because it was now fully dark when they returned to their respective household.

With all this festive season that has just come to an end, I came up with the thought of how Mario and Luigi would act when it comes to preparing and giving presents to each other 🤔

For example, as Christmas approaches, Luigi would start chasing Mario around asking, "What are you preparing for me? What are you going to give me? What is it?" and questions of that kind, always excited and eager, with a happy and curious smile on his face, and even making puppy eyes to try and get Mario to soften up and give in 🤭

But Mario would look at him with a very calm smile and reply, "I don't know, I forgot," and Luigi would despair. "What do you mean you forgot??? How could you forget about something you prepared yourself?" And Mario would stand his ground and insist, "I'm sorry, Luigi, my memory is terrible," even though inside he would be filled with tenderness and stifling laughter 🤭 Though not because of mockery, of course, but because of how adorable Luigi looks when he gets frustrated 🤭🥹

And when it's the other way around, Luigi would be the one wanting to give Mario some clue about his gift. "I have something for you!" he'd say in a singsong tone. "Santa Claus has already come and left something for you! There's a little surprise waiting for you!" Always crooning, always in a funny tone, always wanting Mario to play along so he can give him a clue, or even give it back to him with a "Oops, sorry, I just forgot." 🤭

But Mario, who knows him better than he knows himself, doesn't fall for it. Even if he's really curious inside, most of the time he purses his lips in a restrained smile and manages to take Luigi to his own territory with sentences like: "Oh, I saw him too and he gave me something for you," and then we'd be back to Luigi making his puppy eyes and begging Mario to reveal something, and Mario pretending that he's forgotten about it and trying not to burst out laughing 😂

Still, Mario loves his brother so much (as we all know) that sometimes, he stops holding back and does show his excitement for whatever surprise Luigi is planning for him! However, for Mario, the best, greatest gift is just seeing Luigi's happy face when Mario finally gives in and proves to be just as thrilled as Luigi 🥹

Of course, when the day arrives, Luigi is the one who's ELATED and eager about opening his present, because no matter what it is, it's a gift from his big brother! 🥹 And so it makes it the most important thing in the world, Luigi's new favorite thing from that moment on 🥹 Mario could give him a piece of loose slab and Luigi would treasure it as his most prized possession 💚❤

And although Luigi is the one who shouts and gets most excited and hugs his brother and jumps for joy, Mario is not far behind: he's also giddy to open his little brother's gift, and he also screams and squeezes Luigi while he hops in delight 🥹

So, even if their attitude is a little different in the days leading up to Christmas, when the time comes, they're both equally happy and excited to give a present to each other and to spend such a lovely moment together 🥹💚❤✨

I get it man I think about Venti's wings at least twice a day 😔😔

But you can't just say that and not share, gimme the avian Venti fluff pls

I'll go first, so Venti who's just constantly accidentally knocking things over with his wings in your little apartment, who gives you a sheepish smile and maybe a nerves laugh everytime he hears something else fall to the ground

Occasion he has the reflexes to grab it midair but for the most part you've just become accustom to the sound, he still feels bad if anything actually breaks though

In traditional courting manner he'd probably try really really hard to surround you in things you've shown some sort of a preference towards, like if you like soft things or purple things or shiny things, as soon as he sees something that meets that description it's immediately 'brain off retrieve item' mode, and then he'd get all excited when presenting it as you give him a confused or concerned look depending on how expensive the item is because he doesn't exactly have money to just splurge

Since it's pretty common for birds to have decreased energy in the winter months (and also canon that the Anemo Archon literally is believed to hibernate after Weinlesefest) Venti would probably want nothing more than to spend the whole winter in bed with you, and would absolutely whine and moan whenever you try to get up, especially if it's to go to work or really outside of the house at all

It's just so cold and unpleasant when you're not right there lying beside him, like a part of him is missing, he really doesn't understand how you can manage this level of productivity all year round or why you'd even want to when he's right there with open arms ready to hold you and watch movies or just cuddle all day

And he's absolutely not above just trapping you with his arms, legs, and even wings if it comes down to it, cause now he simply can't live without you being right there, it might as well be a physical need cause it's frankly impossible for him to be comfortable without you and that means he can't sleep at all, and that means he's gonna feel super tired and unpleasant later

When it's cold out is one of the rare times that you see him actually lethargic, which only makes him clingier than usual, gotta stay warm through body heat of course, in bed, away from people, with only each other, and did he mention no one else?

By contrast, in the spring and summer he'd be all over the place, dragging you halfway around the world because it's "nice out" and you "shouldn't waste it inside all day"

Still just as affectionate, that's not changing no matter what month it is, and still just as on alert towards other people, hanging out with other people a lot means that you might start preferring their company and he's not losing you to somebody else, which really just adds up to him turning the whole courting thing up to the extreme

And that means prepare to be serenaded in the most romantic ways he can conjure and also not have to do any of your own cooking for awhile, he'd probably be very unconsciously into keeping everything clean too because he's gotta prove himself as a good partner

Really Venti would just be a lot more clingy and would probably have a stronger urge to join you in a lot of your everyday activities, like eating, showering, working, and obviously sleeping, to the point where he purposefully waits and morphs whatever schedule he has around doing those things with you because they're just that important

Then I personally like to imagine his feathers fluffing up when getting caught off guard, like he just immediately goes into 'make yourself bigger' mode on instinct and suddenly you're smacked in the face by a wing

I can't stress this enough but he would love love love you touching his wings, no question about it just don't stop, it's a pretty surefire way to get him to just keep you in bed all day cause you could do it for hours and he still wouldn't be satisfied

But the cutest thing in the world just came to me, Venti accidentally making something that mimics a little chirp when happy, and then getting super embarrassed about it because that sound wasn't supposed to come out—

Sigh avian Venti need's to exist more as a general concept because I'm hooked, it's adorable and I'm so sad I can't find it anywhere else

A silly little SK appreciation post (may or may not be silly and or little)

Wow, 15 years. One long time, isn't it? I feel like starkid has sorta become a personality trait of mine. I'm the "starkid obsessed" one in my friend group. I make it very very obvious that I adore this group, everything they've done. From the fandom least favorites, to their most adored shows, I love it all. I don't think I'd really be the same person without these shows. I feel like that's a really big thing to say about something I'm not a part of nor have I been in the fandom for too long (i mean 2 and a half years is kinda long?) but I do think I can say I wouldn't be the same. It's gotten me into musicals that aren't Hamilton, that's already a great thing they've done! I've met some of the most amazing people through this fandom, talking about the shows themselves, they've made me laugh, cry, and throw things at my wall more than most pieces of media ever could. I'm rewatching avpm and just finding myself feeling really nostalgia for that old starkid feel. I mean I'm SO excited for Cinderella's Castle, I think from a technical standpoint it'll be their best show yet, but that put together college vibe just hits something for me, I can't describe it. The poorly made sets, the cheap costumes, the fact it's so low quality just makes it a better experience. And the music from these shows is just spectacular! Starkid has some of the best composers ever, I don't know how they find such talent.

I feel that since Hatchetfield released, npmd especially, those older shows aren't as talked about. Which is fair, we may be running out of things to talk about, but I think just rewatching them is an experience. If you haven't gone back and seen starkids older shows, there's truly no better time to start than now. You won't regret it. The fact some of yall don't know the amazing talent of their older actors hurts my soul to think about, we need more appreciation for just all the actors that aren't in the Hatchetfield shows.

Anyways, long story short, starkid is amazing, it's changed my life for the better, I love you all members of SK (doubt any of them will see this but I'll say it anyways), something something fuck clivesdale, something something this is all jafar's fault, and it's been totally awesome :)
