thinking about how 9-1-1 has been clawing its way to 100 episodes. how that milestone used to be reached by early season five by most shows with 22-24 episodes per season. how in these days of short seasons and streaming shows fight to get not even half that. and here we are in what will be 9-1-1’s third shorter season, and a network move, in season 7, at 100 episodes. and i’m just emotional because it’s the little weewoo show that could.

simeon finds you asleep when he returns from picking up luke, head lolling back slightly. you’re a cute sleeper, all relaxed and boneless. still, in a way you rarely were.

motioning for luke to be quiet, he sends him upstairs, clearing your half-drunken tea away from the coffee table. you and he had been enjoying a quiet moment when solomon had called in a panic, suddenly unable to pick up luke from his baking lesson with barbatos. of course simeon hadn’t hesitated to go, leaving you. he felt bad about it of course; it was incredibly rude to do such a thing, but you had seemed to understand, waving him off with a smile.

i can entertain myself, you had said, and simeon huffed out a small chuckle. that you could, apparently, even if it was through dreams.

as simeon watched, your nose wrinkled a bit, before your face settled once more. he hoped you were having pleasant dreams.

surely it couldn’t hurt to let you nap a bit longer. the bags under your eyes had been pretty pronounced lately, and you’d seemed weary, bone-tired. not for the first time he wondered how you get everything that you needed to do done in time. you had as much to do as lucifer, it seemed.

(if it were lucifer on his couch, sleeping with such a peaceful expression, he’d have let him sleep too, simeon thought. both you and the avatar of pride desperately needed a break.)

smiling to himself, simeon gently covers you in the throw blanket that had been on the back of the armchair across the room. no need for you to be cold. and while you slept, he’d head to the kitchen, prepare a little basket for you to take back with you, filled with all sorts of little goodies infused with angelic herbs that promoted productivity, or clarity. hopefully, you’d share them with the other members of your household, particularly lucifer.

if he took a little more care wrapping the treats than he otherwise would, well, who could blame him?

And the start of development for my final major project, which is about the impact of 90’s rave culture on today’s ‘rave’ scene. looking for inspiration:

im struggling to know where to go with my current idea of the project, so i have decided to take a step back and reconsider what i want this project to be so i have decided to look for inspiration from things completely unrelated in subject matter to ocean and sustainability because i have dug myself into a bit of a hole with it.

i have looked at packaging here, because i know thats what i want my project to be based around and i think this is sucvh an original and contemporary way to design for honey which plays into the floral and pastel trends which are current at the moment. as well as that, this style of illustration i personally would not have considered for this product, but it has been made to work really successfully through the combination of pastel colours which is not only a current trend but links to the theme of spring and new life which seems to run across this project and ties into the idea of flowers and new growth.
