Mural in Hamburg in memory of Michalis Katsouris, a 29-year-old antifascist AEK fan who was stabbed to death on Monday night in an attack by far-right hooligans from Dinamo Zagreb and Panathinaikos.

Best Siblings Round 1: Cher & Thoop (A Boss and a Babe) vs Aek & Tho (Don't Say No)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Submitted Reasons Under Cut]
Cher & Thoop: "Though they aren’t technically related, they consider each other to be brothers, particularly after the loss of Thup’s older sister and Cher‘a best friend/first love. Though they aren’t always on the best terms, they do eventually come to an understanding, and Cher always does his absolute best to take care of Thup no matter the personal cost to him, being his only source of support a lot of the time. I just love the concept of two characters who decide to choose each other and make each other their family in a time of great loss, especially considering how shitty Thup’s biological family is in the show. Also, the emphasis Cher puts on the fact that he doesn’t love Thup solely because of the connection with his sister, but he loves him for HIM, as his own person, is very important to me."
Aek & Tho: "They’re twins but have completely opposite personalities, and yet they support each other and look out for each other."

N*zis are out και προχωράμε.
Μιχάλη, ήσουν παρών και όλοι το είδαμε. Ήσουν παρών και το νιώσαμε. Μιχάλη, ΖΕΙΣ.

I am not a fan of any sports clubs but I have been following closely the news about AEK’s new “Hagia Sophia” stadium, OPAP Arena, for no reason other than that it seems the stadium will be looking real good once it’s ready. In fact, it might prove to be the prettiest stadium we will have in Greece.
In case you are wondering about the name, AEK was founded in 1924 and its full name Αθλητική Ένωση Κωνσταντινουπολιτών means Sports Association of the Greeks of Constantinople. The club was founded two years after the Greco-Turkish war by Greeks who had fled or been deported from Istanbul and Asia Minor. Hence the Hagia Sophia reference. AEK had the Nikos Goumas stadium in Nea Philadelphia prior to this one but it was demolished after an earthquake caused irreparable damage.
The new stadium will have many facilities besides the ones associated strictly with the games, including a museum for the history of the club and most importantly a museum for the history of the Greek refugees from Asia Minor.

The stadium will also have traditional barber and shoe polishing shops in the fashion of early 20th Century Constantinople.

Close to the stadium’s entrance there will also be the chapel of Hagia Sophia.

The stadium won’t have numbered gates except for Gate No 21 (AEK’s gate). The rest will be named after important AEK athletes. The entrances to the gates will each feature information about historical hotspots of Greek presence in Asia Minor.

The entrance of the stadium is decorated with a steel statue of the club’s symbol, the two-headed eagle (which is also the symbol of the Greek Orthodox Church).
I am so into most of these aesthetics that I am on the verge of becoming an AEK fan just for the sake of the stadium XD The wholesome thing is that many Greek fans of other clubs have praised or expressed impatience to visit this stadium, which is important because Greek fans are typically very petty and competitive. I don’t know how it compares to big stadiums in other countries but I am pretty sure that for the standards of our own, OPAP Arena will most likely be the best football stadium we have. The stadium’s grand opening is expected in September.
