Okay actually I have more thoughts about the "for you the world Phil" line and its original context. So.

Even though the line isn't exactly meant as some huge declaration when c!Techno says it, and it wasn't as significant and dramatic as the fandom often makes it out to be, I still think it's incredibly sweet and it still does demonstrate so much of how they care about each other.

Because basically what c!Techno was saying was "y'know what? You yoinking the bookshelves was exasperating and inconvenient, and you're an absolute dork for it, but you're my dork and I would give you the world, so I don't actually mind. (You're my best friend so I'm gonna let you off the hook, because you could never make me mad truly with something like this)" It was him surrendering the argument to c!Phil, which isn't really something c!Techno does.

It's a much more domestic declaration of love than what I'd assumed the line was without knowing the context, but imo it says just as much (if not more) about their dynamic than if it had been some dramatic turning point or finale in the lore.

Because even when their lives aren't on the line and it's silly little squabbles like this one was, they still care about and respect each other so much

vodwatching, again, and i was looking in the comments. and idk if someone said it here. but someone pointed out the fact that those briefcases (apparently) cannot be crafted, and the ownership changes the ID of the item. so the fact that phil did that little trust test with forever's (fake) briefcase when he came back to the island, and kept the briefcase, they wouldve not been able to steal forever's briefcase the day they registered the antidote. it wouldve been a whole different story and im losing my fucking mind.

In case you need to hear it tonight:

If Fanon goes nuts over a concept, that doesn’t make it the only ideas allowed to exist, and it certainly doesn’t make it the “smartest” or the best anything. It just means a crowd attaches to ONE idea, and bullies every other idea out of the way, because they are threatened by other concepts due to their own immaturity, jealousy, and selfishness. Don’t let them gaslight and gatekeep you into thinking they are superior. This discourages a healthy, varied fandom and squishes creativity, open discussions and harmony in its tracks. Which.....is something people who can’t think for themselves, want.

Fandom doesn’t own the media they hive-mind over. Your take, your opinion, your ships, or just your preference for canon over fanon, is VALID.

Even if the artist is amazing. Even if the writer has lots of follows. Even if it seems like it’s 5 to 1 on what everyone gushes over. Even if “they” deem your take illegitimate or terrible because you don’t ship or headcannon what “everyone else” seems to be blindly salivating over.

YOU MATTER.

“They” are actually a drop in a bucket, in real life.

The MAJORITY of fans keep to themselves and talk privately about their takes, because they don’t want drama and they just want to enjoy their favorite media without the baying and chest beating.

One more thing: People that fixate on popular fanon ideas 99% of the time, burn out on the media in question after a year or two. That leaves the ride-or-die fans to themselves for years to come. Wait it out. The worst and most toxic people in ALL fandoms, are only into a media as long as it’s current and “popular.”

If I had a nickel for every fucking time one of my favorite minecraft character on an smp, who also had a divine connection of sorts, ended up killing someone after the explosion of that person's city/base and had the children of that person also witness the death of their parent. Then ended up somehow emotionally connecting with said child of the person they killed and having a odd relationship in which they sorta taken them in at some point, in which they lived near them and just kinda became their guardian of sorts. And the child in some way sees them as someone they can rely on despite the fact of said character being a big source of their grief and pain (sorta, it gets complicated if you look more into that). I would have two (and maybe a half) nickels and things just rhythm somehow.
