When your oncology knowledge and macgyver knowledge contribute to answering a neurology question correctly 🤣🤣🤣
Midterm pathophys test today. Sigh. I made stupid mistakes and I’m just - frustrated with myself. I gotta be better. Going back to school is hard 😭

Somehow Wilson is more unhinged than House in 4x01. B&E and cutting Tide coupons, kidnapping House’s $12k 1967 guitar and THEN actually damaging the guitar?? I thought he’d have ripped out the bridge of a different guitar but then NO, at the end of the ep we see he actually potentially ruined a $12k guitar. The man was completely ready to use all his skills to blackmail House.

office politics at ppth are literally wild both deans of medicine we’ve seen have been like i need to be able to get house to do what i want BUT house is never gonna listen to me on my own so i have to get wilson on my team bc wilson CAN control house and meanwhile the rest of the hospital needs like. actual running. so i can only assume most of the place is self sufficient and house’s department is the literal only department that needs constant dean of medicine interference like the job is sign papers smile big and get on good terms with wilson

Palliative care can be provided in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, and the patient's home. It may be provided by a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers, and others who have specialized training in palliative care.
Overall, palliative care is an important aspect of cancer treatment, as it can help improve the patient's quality of life and provide much-needed support to both the patient and their family members

Thank you so so so much to everyone who commented or messaged me after my last post. Y’all don’t know how much reading all of your messages meant to me, it made me really emotional. I have a CT scan today to hopefully get some answers and I’m already getting set up with my state’s top cancer institute to get things rolling once we find out what we’re dealing with. I’ll be updating once I find out more! I’m gonna be fine. Let’s do this. 😤✊

Plagueblogging / covid nursing 2023
#Unexpected development in covid nursing this season#Generally the intensity of covid itself seems to be less#Compared to this time last year#I guess different variant plus widespread vaccination in the older demographic especially#So now rather than high octane respiratory nursing#It's worked out now that we've got room and there's a rolling forever outbreak#That now we are getting send all the cancer oncology renal haematology patients that test positive#So now instead of general medical nursing#It's leaning much heavier towards oncology nursing#Which is. Idk there's a shift#Usually with medical it's a really obvious decline as people go towards end of life and we can make it relatively graceful#But man brain mets are another beast#There's a patient I never met but was just there for the edges of#And I think it will be a while before they don't linger in my mind#I'm so glad the family were onto it and we're accepting and understood her journey#And she was able to pass peacefully with them there#But man I'm glad I wasn't the one who had to make those calls#I was guiding the new grad with advice but they ultimately made different choices than I would#Luckily the patient and family's wishes were able to be followed#But imagining the what ifs of me being in that position had me bursting into tears again#Good practice#I'd have to know to find my voice and ask the question - do you want me to call a medical emergency or do you want some quiet?#That's not a question we usually have to ask because it's not usually so quick so the goals of care can be updated#Cancer cw

Cervical cancer
Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina. It is the fourth most common cancer in women worldwide and  can affect women of all ages. However, it is most often diagnosed in women between  35 and years of age.
 Causes of cervical cancer:
The main cause of cervical cancer is infection with  human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted virus. There are more than 100 different types of HPV, and some types can cause cervical cancer. Other factors that can increase the risk of  cervical cancer include smoking,  a weakened immune system,  a family history of cervical cancer, and  multiple sexual partners.
 Symptoms of cervical cancer:
Cervical cancer does not necessarily cause symptoms in its early stages. As the cancer progresses, symptoms may include abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain or discomfort, pain during intercourse, and unusual vaginal discharge. It is important to note that these symptoms can be caused by other diseases, so it is important to consult a doctor to get a proper diagnosis.
Prevention and early detection of cervical cancer:
The most effective way to prevent cervical cancer is  the HPV vaccine. The HPV vaccine protects against the types of HPV that cause most cases of cervical cancer, as well as against other types of HPV that can cause other types of cancer. The vaccine is recommended for  males and females between  9 and 26 years of age.
Regular cervical cancer screening is also important for early detection. A Pap test is a test that checks for abnormal cells on the cervix. It is recommended that women start regular Pap tests from the age of 21. In addition, the new  HPV test can also detect the presence of the virus that causes cervical cancer. Women should discuss with their healthcare provider which exams are right for them.
 Treatment of cervical cancer:
Treatment of cervical cancer depends on the stage of the cancer and other factors such as the woman's age and general health. Treatment options may include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these treatments.
In summary, cervical cancer is a common female cancer  that can be prevented by vaccination and detected early by regular screening. Women should consult with their health care provider to determine  appropriate screening and vaccination. If cervical cancer is diagnosed, early treatment can lead to a better outcome.

love House MD because House is the MAIN CHARACTER at that hospital and there's no attempt to hide this. as the viewer you are fully aware that those nurses in the elevator are just extras. the boss's entire schedule consists of yelling at him. the head of oncology would rather prescribe him controlled meds and flirt than practice oncology. his team's only desires are to fuck him and strangle him, often at the same time. every other doctor at the hospital might as well be a cardboard cutout.
the walls are glass, the better to see him through. he limps around, commits malpractice, and serves cunt.
long live mid-2000s TV.
