“Louis, what do you have to say about how last week ended?” the reporter asks. There’s a moment of silence. Harry is looking at the reporter, but eventually gives in and looks down the table at Louis. He’s looking straight ahead, as if Harry isn’t even in the room. “If you can’t take the heat, then get out of the kitchen.” Harry leans forwards, placing his arms on the table and leaning onto them to get as close to his microphone as he can while looking at Louis. “And what’s that supposed to mean?” Louis turns to him, his icy blue eyes meeting Harry’s. “Driving is your fuckin’ job, act like it.”

“Did you have another fight with Harry?” Liam asks as they move away from everyone, into the kitchen.

“No. Why?” Louis says, perplexed.

“He looks ready to murder you.” Liam subtly looks over towards Harry and sure enough, his gaze on Louis is intensely unwavering.

“Or well, fuck you senseless.” Zayn chimes in with the most absurd possibility before Louis can think of a reply.

“What? Shut up. He does not want to fuck me senseless.”

“Then you can fuck him senseless.”

“Nobody is fucking anybody senseless.” Even the mere notion is enough to make his eyes roll up into their bloody sockets.

“Doesn't mean you don't want to though.” Liam smirks like a true traitor. He really ought to make new friends.

“I'm leaving.” Louis deadpans. He is not going to dignify their idiocy with responses anymore.

Are you talking about Him? The Powerpuff Girls villian?” Zayn rolls his eyes. “You know I’m never talking about Him. Stop avoiding the subject, Lou. I know you haven’t gotten rid of the note.” Louis shifts, feeling caught. “Yes, I have.” Zayn raises an eyebrow. “So, if I go into your room, I won’t find the note from Harry still sitting on your side table like it’s a letter from your lover at war?” Louis blows the hair that’s fallen down his forehead off his face, huffing. “If you’ve got something to say, you can say it. I’m a big boy. We both know I’ve gone through much worse.” An awkward silence hangs over the air, and Louis would almost feel bad if it weren’t true. He knows Zayn doesn’t like hearing about his past, makes his blood boil at the mere thought of someone being less than kind to Louis, but it doesn’t make it any less true. Turning the burner up higher, Zayn moves to grab the pasta. “I think you’re avoiding something that could be good for you,” he says, like it’s as mundane as the weather.

There’s shouts in between metal hitting metal, and Harry’s head feels like it’s going to snap as he looks between everyone. “Sarah! Behind you!” Harry shouts, as he sees one of Louis’ crew sneaking up onher.

Pauli turns, quickly evading the opponent's sword. Harry breathes a sigh of relief as he notices most of Louis’ crew is injured. His crew are winning. Looking down, he sees his hands are covered in blood, and he leans down wiping them in the sand, although it just gets the grains stuck to them.

As he looks up, Harry’s eyes widen as he takes in the sight before him.

Louis stands with his sword against Niall’s throat.

One Direction Big Bang Teaser Post

The Centre for the Law Enforcement of Supernatural Beings – more commonly referred to as simply “The Centre” – is 20 stories high above ground and 5 stories below ground. The very top floors are all tinted glass and house the upper levels of management; to call them bloodsuckers would be an understatement: you don’t get into upper management of The Centre without being a vampire or another long-lived Nightwalker.

Louis Tomlinson is not a bloodsucker, vampire or otherwise. He’s certainly been called that, and similar, in his ten-year stint as the chief medical examiner of The Centre, but it’s usually more from grieving partners than an attack on his race. It does make him reconsider his life’s path at times, makes him wonder if he wouldn’t have been happier doing something, anything, else than seeing people on their worst days. He’s toyed with it, with the idea of quitting his job and opening an antique store or something like that, where he doesn’t have to spend his nights buried up to his elbows in some poor soul’s innards, telling an unfeeling tape recorder sitting nearby about his findings as he works on processing a victim. His predecessor did that, he’s heard; met someone in a case and just up and quit, or so the story goes. He usually just thought his predecessor got sick of the long hours and everything that comes from being a chief medical examiner.

If he’s honest, he also misses the sky. The morgue of the Centre is located on the second basement level, just below the floor that houses the laboratories that process any evidence for any of the crimes that happen in Belladonna, the city Louis – and about 350,000 other Day and Nightwalkers – calls home. The two floors below his morgue and the cold storage that holds the bodies – Nightwalker and Daywalker alike - until they can be released to funeral homes are just storage space; Louis knows that the five floors below ground level are considered by everyone else in the building the Underworld, and that he’s widely considered to be the king of it as chief medical examiner.
