Hall of a Hundred Eyes
Ectoberhaunt Day 19: One/One Hundred
In the Hall of a Hundred Eyes, you hold no power. They may stand together in judgement over you, a fair trial, they claim, but you face judgement alone. There is only one thought they think, and one result they yearn for:

[ID: digital drawing of Vlad Plasmius in a modified version of his ghostly costume that more resembles a lab coat. He has one hand held up in fist and the other pressed against his chest, emphatically declaring “And I would watch a hundred more failures devolve into ectoplasm to get the perfect half-ghost son.”]
One hundred // Ectoberhaunt 2022
I think there’s nothing more emblematic of Vlad than the fact he follows up “I am not a villain. All I wanted was love” with this line

A celebration
Ectoberhaunt 2022, Side Chaos. Prompt: One Hundred.
Summary: It's been one hundred days since the reveal made by Danny Fenton, and today was a day to celebrate.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o
“Danny! You’ll be late for school if you continue sleeping like that!” Maddie Fenton shouted from the kitchen on the first floor, all the while still making the pancakes on the stove, hearing as the batter for this batch of fudge flavored pancake was sizzling slowly, the smell of it spreading through the house as one Jack Fenton could be heard eating them on the table behind her. Jazz meanwhile had already left in her car for college earlier in the morning, and wouldn’t return until the afternoon, thus leaving the family of 4 as a family of 3 once Danny returns from school.
“Hey mom, hey dad.” Danny phased his head through the ceiling, taking a big breath of whatever was being made. “If those are what I think they are then please mom make me like, a hundred of them.”
“Ha! Now that’s a Fenton appetite!” Jack cheered, lifting his fork, only to return eating his own share of pancakes.
“Well honey, if you want to eat some of them you better get down soon, because otherwise your father will end up eating every pancake. This is the second to last round of batter I’m making after all.”
“Nooooo! I’ll get changed and come down in a sec.” With more urgency than if a ghost attack was happening right now, Danny flew back into his room and phased his pajamas out, got his clothes on, and phased through the floor until he finally arrived at the kitchen. “So? How many pancakes can I eat now?”
“Well, you were pretty fast, so I’d say this last batter batch is all yours.” Maddie put some pancakes on the dish designated for herself and then began making the last batch of fudge pancakes.
“So, are you ready for today Danno?”
“Ready for what?” He asked as he kept stimming in his chair, bouncing from place to place while waiting for the delectable pancakes to be ready to eat.
“Well, today masks 100 days since the reveal Danno!” The excitement Jack felt was contagious, and as evidenced, Danny also began smiling even more upon hearing the news.
“Really!? So we’re gonna celebrate today!” he slowly began floating in place, taking the chair with himself as we had his feet tangled to it’s legs.
“Yep, once you’re out of school we’ll do a patrol together the three of us and then go spend some time hanging around doing whatever comes to mind, and once dinner time comes we’ll buy a Nasty Burger for the four of us.” Maddie detailed the plans for today as she finished the first pancake and set it on Danny’s dish, she turned around to put the batter on the pan, and looked behind her once more, only to witness Danny open his mouth impossibly high and putting the whole pancake inside of it, not waiting to chew nor savor it before gulping it all down.
“Aaaahhhhhh.” Danny’s face of satisfaction brought to doubt if he really didn't savor anything.
“Danny, next time remember to chew and eat in bite sized bites, alright?” the chastise brought to him by his mother caused him to retract upon himself and weakly nod, looking downwards to avoid anyone’s gaze.
“Don’t worry Dann-o, no one is mad, it’s just that it can’t be healthy to stretch your mouth that long or that far to begin with.”
“Alright alright, I’ll eat the following pancake normally.”
“Now that’s the spirit.” That pun got the three of the Fenton present laughing, and after a bit of a scare with the batter almost burning due to the distraction, the rest of the morning continued like normal and the day proceeded to do so as well. There wasn’t any big ghost attack today, and thanks to that every member of the Fenton family was able to arrive in time to celebrate the special day on the streets. They first went to the planetarium, and later the movies, where this time Jazz was the one to pick a movie from all the ones available in the theater. Finally once they got out of the theater, they all returned home with their bellies full and minds at ease, and went directly to bed. This had been the best 100 days of his life according to one Danny Fenton.

Hundred to One
Ectoberhaunt day 19 - One & One Hundred
Summary:
The human brain was never meant to process more than five senses.
Half-human brains were only ever meant to process six.
warning: self harm
Ao3 Link
It was done. He was done.
The seemingly endless fires that kept popping up all around town had all been extinguished. The automatic and desperate orders given to each piece of himself were completed.
Danny? It’s over now, you can relax. Someone’s voice faintly filtered into his hearing. He didn’t know where it was coming from.
Shit! A different voice said. Dude, your parents! Quick, change back before they see you!
He registered nodding to that voice, and the nod echoing and repeating over and over among every part of himself. His parents. The voice was right, he couldn’t let them see him—as it is he could barely move or think without the strange muted fuzziness buzzing in his brain and if his parents were to start shooting at him, he didn’t think he’d be able to dodge.
There was something though—a vague thought in the back of his head and an itching in his core warning him of… something. He needed to listen to the voice, but if he did, his body was telling him there would be consequences.
Jazz was keeping them busy, but they’re literally about to turn the corner, hurry up!
But there was no time.
So he called on his transformation rings and turned human.
And turned human and turned human and turned human and turned-
Too much too much TOO MUCH!
Hundreds of different senses immediately flooded into his mind, the earlier fuzziness gone completely and—it was a barrier, a protection, why didn’t he listen to his body—?!
Broken cars littering a deserted road, shattered glass surrounding a blackened building, crumbling walls along an evacuated hospital, cracked roof tiles atop City Hall, injured civilians in shock and fear—
Distorted radio and car alarms, crackling embers from dying fires, frantic yelling from medical staff, quickened breaths in his lungs, terrified crying from small children—
Spilled oil and gasoline, thick and cloying smoke, charged and static ozone, a biting frigid breeze, strong and burning antiseptic—
Pebbles from asphalt, dry powdery ash, bitter sticky ectoplasm, gritty cement bits, wet metallic blood—
Crumbling pavement, burnt gloves, broken stretcher, dented thermos, shock blanket—
Ghosts, none, ghosts, none, ghosts—
He couldn’t take it.
What the hell—?!
Dude!
Danno?! What’s—?!
Honey, where are you hurt?! Please just tell me where you’re hurt!
Danny, oh my god! What happened?! Are you—Are you dying?!
Maybe he was, maybe all of this was the precursor to his second—his final death.
He didn’t care, he just wanted it to stop.
Make it stop make it stop make it stop make it stop make it stop make it-
STOP.
One of his pieces was violently shaken.
For a moment, the other hundreds of senses dimmed.
He focused on dark brown skin, a trembling voice, the wet saltiness in his mouth, the arms wrapped tightly around him, the nastiest cologne anyone has ever made, and the blessed lack of ghosts.
He relaxed a bit, feeling it echo and echo and echo and echo and-
Dee? Danny did not move. He did not speak nor smell nor taste nor touch nor blink. Please, you’re scaring me here. Say something.
A joke was on the tip of his tongue. He was surprised he had enough energy to still think of one.
And then it compounded. Over and over and over and over, the surprise overwrote the relaxation and soon annoyance followed. Annoyance invited a small grunt repeated over and over and over and over—
Someone whined and sobbed and Danny could smell the tears pooling in their eyes and it was too much too much please make it fucking stop—
Pain in his knees and pain in his head, over and over and over, but a small—practically miniscule—moment of silence.
Weight on hands and knees weight on his hands and knees weight on his hands and knees—
Pain in his head silence pain in his head silence pain in his head silence—
Danny, please say something. What do you need? I’ll go get it or—or Jazz or your parents could get it just—how do we help you?!
Arms holding him and—
Two arms. Only two. Pale ones with purple painted nails.
Danny—fuck, why did this happen— He clung to the voice. The one voice with the two arms and the painted nails. Only one piece held on, no echoes making things worse. His other pieces paused, barely breathing. This was his island, his sanctuary. Like the dark brown arms.
But like the dark brown arms, it was only temporary.
He lunged out of pale arms and he raised his head and he raised his head and he raised his—
No! C’mon just pull yourself together, you’re gonna hurt yourself!
Pull yourself together.
Pull yourself together.
Pull yourself together.
Only one piece heard it, yet it echoed in his mind and brought clarity to every part of him.
One by one he felt his piece disappear. Poof into thin air.
And thus one hundred became One.
The relief barrelled through him.
For a moment.
The other sensations were gone. Subsided completely when the other pieces vanished.
But the feelings still lingered. The memories, recent and horrifying as they were, still lingered.
And his mind.
It was one hundred puzzle pieces trying to fit themselves back into one person again.
And Danny—
He—
He couldn’t—
His mind started to drift, his senses—only six, only six but still too much—becoming more and more muted and despite the desperate pleas from familiar voices, he couldn’t bring himself to pull back into full awareness.
It was nice here. Pleasant and without pain or confusion. Everything was simple. Danny just needed to vaguely exist and think and do and feel absolutely nothing.
Maybe later, when he started to miss his friends and family more, he would resurface.
For now though, Danny was going to stay here a while.
