Now Dr. McCoy has enough ammo to keep him fed for however long the remainder of his cantankerous human existence allows.

(Spoiler alert: McCoy lives for a long ass time. And he stays just as petty that long, too. I don’t doubt that his scattered particles would still be complaining out there somewhere in space long after he is gone.)

But I digress. I love Journey to Babel.

oh my god. i’m thinking of the losers club, in their early 20’s, chaperoning georgie’s prom. georgie makes bill promise that he and his friends will not embarrass him,,, bill makes no such promises. he loves his little brother, of course he does, but he can’t help himself as he and richie tease georgie about his prom date, asking if she’s his giiiiirlfriend, the same way the little georgie used to tease bill about any girl he was friends with. all night long georgie’s being asked the question “is that your brother?” as the losers steal snacks from the buffet and dance in the corner of the room.

at first georgie’s embarrassed, but then he realizes that his brother and his friends are harmless, they’re just having fun themselves, and even though it’s probably not allowed he tells them to come out from the edges of the room and onto the dancefloor and he actually enjoys bill’s and the losers’ company, and the losers have a pretty good time as well
