The only One Of Us au I can really see happening is Ford agreeing to Bill's deal only to demand the Milky Way galaxy, and to be allowed to finish living his human life before he goes with Bill. Which is only what? Twenty, thirty years? Yeah sure, have fun, seeya soon Sixer.

There's no clothing swap. Instead, Ford is the one agreeing to the deal. He reaches his hand out to shake, but just before Bill grabs it he snatches it back.

"But first- my price. You want that equation? Well I seem to remember you offering me my own galaxy. You give me the Milky Way, and I'll tell you how to leave Gravity Falls."

Une's Nonsensical Ramblings Episode 1: One Of Us AU Ok so, this au? This au right here? Love it, it's one of my absolute favorites, the idea is something that makes me very happy. However, I've always felt like the design of Demon Ford and just his dynamic in general with Bill and his crew could be improved. So, THIS;

I'm taking a darker spin on it. In lieu of outright betrayal, Bill traps the three remaining Pines in prison bubbles and has Ford be the holder of their keys, finding it amusing that he's the one keeping his own family hostage. As time goes on, Ford becomes less and less human, and more focused on the task Bill has set for him. I like to think Fords job would be to intake information from as many multiverses as possible. Stripping him down to his core he becomes an apathetic vessel for knowledge. He takes the form of a Guidance Demon but he only guides himself - remnants of his Loner personality trait. Bill speaks to him through the lantern. Ford rarely ever speaks back after a while. I imagine he takes knowledge in many ways. Be it from libraries or data on a computer. One of the more violent ways is stripping it from a person. Likely a fate many alternate Fords have met their end too. Not like this one cares, it's all in the desire of knowing.

Bill gets angry at some entity or another for mouthing off to him about having a HUMAN for a partner. He narrows his eye just slightly and gives them the choice of him cutting their tongue out or sewing their mouth shut, since they clearly can't control what they're saying. Isn't he so nice, to help them out? Tick tock. If they take too long to choose he'll just do both.

They didn’t realize the human was genuinely more than a pet, or arm candy. Thought it was just another joke, that maybe they should play along. That was very obviously not the case, and Bill was starting to look annoyed at how long they’d been silent.

Bill’s already-limited patience runs out and he grabs the offending entity's tongue, his other hand turning bladelike as he presses it against the muscle just hard enough to draw blood. They panic, start flailing and struggling and trying desperately to talk. And Ford... well, Ford was already uncomfortable with the severity of Bill's threat, but this is enough to make him step in. "Bill, maybe- Stop, they're trying to talk, let them!" And Bill just stares at Ford for a moment, expectant. "...Please?" "Well... Alright. But only because it's you, and you asked so nicely." He briefly gives his form a third long, thin arm to wrap around the human’s shoulders and switches his eye out for a mouth to give him a kiss on the cheek before turning back to them.

He lets go of their tongue, and for a moment they're just stunned by how much power this human has over Bill, to make him show mercy with only a few words and the absolute minimum of politeness. Because Bill doesn't do mercy, Bill demands respect, as fun-loving and lawless as he is if anyone wanted to pry even a hint of lenience from him they would have to grovel, offer up anything and everything, beg for it. And even then he would have to be in a particularly good mood to grant it.

"Well? Did you make a choice? Tick tock, I'm getting bored here." "Um- sewn shut. I would prefer my mouth be sewn shut please, Lord Cipher." "Good choice. Probably more painful, but considerably less permanent. Now, do you have anything to say to Ford?" They thought there was nothing that could make them more terrified in that moment, but Bill proves them wrong. The hand on their face is gentle, but the claws just barely pricking their skin is a just as clear a threat as a knife to the throat. There’s no resistance when he turns their head to face the human, they know better than to try.

They almost hesitate, because this is a human and very few humans are powerful enough to warrant any respect from them... But they aren't about to risk Bill changing his mind. Bill lets go of their face and they bow to Ford, "Thank you for your mercy, sir. You have my deepest gratitude, and any other favor you would wish to ask of me."

Bill is, perhaps, gentler than he could have been. Gentler than he would have been, if Ford hadn't interfered, if they hadn't shown his human the respect he was due so readily. He holds their head still with one hand, the other carefully and evenly stitching their mouth shut. It hurts, but they do their best not to move until he's done.

"Leave them in until the skin grows over them. You're free to go." Bill gives them a dismissive wave and turns back to his human without a second thought, exposing his back, giving them an opening to attack, but they scamper away as fast as they can.

They never return.

I tried to write something to sum up my thoughts on this, but then it got longer and longer and tbh I'm itching to write a fic set in this AU djjdkf I think I could develop on their inner feelings more than in the comic form

Before posting the first part I didn't realize people had such strong opinions on how this would play out lmaooo

imo, of course Zoro wants to fight Sanji, not with actual intent to harm (they threaten each other on the daily, come on), but because that's how they are together, how they communicate. He respects Luffy's decisions and their goal here, which is to learn what's really going on with Sanji, but he's gonna be pissy about it all he wants. They both have so many intense and conflicted feelings about this and neither has any idea how to resolve them. So they fight.
