A small drabble involving my warriorsona, Onerose

A sharp rasping noise swept over the clearning, ragged breaths shuddered through a large tabby tom who lay on his side,his usual intimidating presence reduced to choked cries as he sputtered helplessly.

By the toms side sat a dark she-cat, her pelt shaded with ginger and her one eye staring at the tom coldly. "It's a shame you had to join Starclan like this... If you'd just listen to my warnings like you should have, perhaps you would have lived longer." she meowed.

The tom snarled in fury, his green eyes wild with defiance and fear, before convulsing with a shudder running through his body. "You... You-- Starclan is watching you... They'll punish you... They wil--" his growl was cut short by another fit of coughing.

"They will what, Waspshade? What will Starclan do to me?" the she-cat enquired, a glitter of amusment in her deep amber-red eye. "I don't need Starclan's approval to do what I think is right. You would have been a pathetic leader, Riverclan needs a cat with more experience." she meowed.

Waspshade's body felt like maggots were chewing him from the inside out, his claws unseathed as he grasped the ground in pain, the dark cream and white tabby wanted to yowl, but his throat felt scorched.

"That's not for you... to decide, Onerose." the tabby rasped sharply. "Thistlestar will-- he'll find out the... the truth... and you'll--" he choked off as Onerose pressed her paw on his throat, pushing down with her claw tips teasingly poking out every so often.

"Shh... As a medicine cat I only want my clan to survive, something that you put at risk, your poor leadership skills will hurt Riverclan... You must understand I'm doing this for our clan." Onerose spoke softly to the weakening tom below her. "You should have stopped getting close to Thistlestar, he'd have picked you as deputy when Lichenfoot died, you are a great warrior, Waspheart, but I only see pain in your leadership."

Indeed, Waspshade was close to the Riverclan leader as of late, the two had been rivals since apprenticenship and later grew to resent one another, but when Thistlestar's mate, Lichenfoot began to fall deathly ill, Waspshade had comforted his old denmate.

No cat could deny Waspshade's loyalty to his clan or the warrior code, but he had always been hot headed, quick to argue, and possessed a sharp tounge that could cut stone with words alone. "I can see it now... We'll be at a gathering and you, Waspstar, will begin arguing with the other clans, provoking them to declare war on Riverclan." Onerose paused "You simply have too much fierocity in your veins... Too quick to snap at others... Mintfrost is Riverclan's best bet at being a strong, respected leader."

Waspshade's vision began to fade, he wanted to say so much more spiteful things to the medicine cat, but his body had given up trying to fight off the poison inside him. Gargled cries and pitiful hisses tore past his lips, he swore at Onerose with all the sheer cold fury within him.

Onerose watched her clanmate with little interest, her whiskers twitched with impatience "Riverclan honors your bravery and wits, I wish you good hunting in Starclan... You don't have to forgive me, you'll understand one day." she mewed. Waspshade's face, twisted with malice, fell still, and his once vibrant green eyes had become milky with death, one last shuddering breath escaped him before his shaking stopped.

"Mintfrost, you will be the deputy of Riverclan. Starclan honors your intelligence and wisdom." Thistlestar meowed from the highstone. Yowls of approval had engulfed the camp, Mintfrost bowed her head in thanks. "I won't let Riverclan down, Thistlestar." she vowed, earning more yowls of support.

Thistlestar nodded respectfully, but his eyes bore the sadness of losing his mate and friend in such a short time. The massive dark tabby leaped down to stand next to Onerose. "Waspshade should have been deputy... he'd have been a great leader... there is no cat I'd trust more than him..." he mewed mournfully.

"I'm sure Waspshade wouldn't want you moping around like an old badger who's fresh kill was stolen. If I know Waspshade he'd most likley say" Onerose begun to speak in a deep raspy voice "Thistlestar! If you don't stop waddling around with your tail dragging behind you like a slug, I'll rip your nose out! Be the O so mighty leader you know you are... you furball." she mimicked the desceased warrior, her eyes bright with a teasing stare.

Update: Hey, uh, fellow cat book nerds.

My absence has been caused by my deteriorating mental health, the past months have been some of the worst for my mental health. I’ve always struggled with depression and mental illness in general, even when I was dropping my warrior cats designs art consistently I was having a rough time at home. Unfortunately, those rough times escalated and I found I was emotionally unstable and unable to motivate myself to do draw.

Initially I wanted to power through this feeling. So I started giving myself work on this blog (ask Icestrike, warrior cats designs) hoping that the fear of letting my followers down would motivate me to draw even when I had no desire to do anything for myself anymore. Instead, I had just caused more stress for myself upon my graduation that was happening at the time and I shut everybody out of my life.

(I graduated btw — I was also placed in 2 group homes since my foster family moved away.)

Up until recently, I was miserable and neglected myself. I didn’t feed or clean myself and left my new group home unit a mess. I’m not sure what has changed recently that has me feeling less awful, and I don’t want to make any concrete promises, but I’m thinking of coming back and drawing battle cats again soon.

I apologize for my absence, I truly do appreciate and admire my followers and anyone who finds my art or ideas fun or enjoyable. I didn’t think I’d ever reach as many people as I did with my cat drawings. The Warrior Cats community has been part of my life for so long and I’m happy to come back to it. Thank you all. I hope you stick around to see me post silly cat art.

Does your main warrior cat oc have a backstory?

Not a super fleshed out one but here's a few facts about her:

-from ShadowClan

-a medicine cat

-her scars are self inflicted

-doesn't put her faith in StarClan and she rejects their omens and prophecies vehemently but still wants to aid and help her Clan through medicine (which puts her clan in a bit of a tough situation)

-would likely look for a mate outside her own Clan (or even outside the Clans entirely)

-willingly cut off any ties with her kin and will never address them as her kin despite sharing a Clan with them

-would probably be better off as a loner but her heart lies with helping her Clan, but because she's so disconnected with Clan beliefs she's often looked down upon by other Clan cat

-named herself after her one red eye after she clawed out her other one (she's not okay, she needs cat therapy)

-she's autistic and has add (like me lol)

how is your coloring on kleki such good quality? When ever I use the bucket tool- the coloring is outlined in white and looks trashy..

For most of my recent cat design drawings I have been using the pixel tool-- which can make your drawings look kinda blocky but if you don't wanna manually color it in then it's a best tool to use.

The pen tool isn't a one solid line, it's a bunch of small pixels that dithers and spreads out. So using the bucket tool on pen lines will have those crunchy white patches.

Because the pixel tool is just one big solid line, the bucket tool completetly fills the lineart.

When I do use the pen tool, for when I want more flowy and precisce lines, I use the pen tool to also color in the lineart.

I color outside the lines so the color will fill in all the crunchy white bits and after everything is colored I erase the outside-the-lines colors with the eraser tool.

This takes a lot longer to do than just pixel and paint bucket-ing.

Warriors AU: Tiny joins Thunderclan

Basically... Bluefur takes Tiny to the Thunderclan camp after the kit was attacked by Tigerpaw to be cared for by Featherwhisker. Upon returning to camp with a kittypet kit Sunstar demands to know why Bluefur would bring such a cat into the camp at all.

Bluefur explains to Sunstar that Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw almost killed the kit and upon hearing this news Sunstar punishes the mentor and apprentice by making them look after the elders for a moon, this is in attempt to teach Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw some compassion and mercy.

Tiny is taken into Featherwhisker’s den and his wounds are treated by the medicine cat. During his time in the Medicine den Tiny confides in Featherwhisker, explaining what he was doing in the forest in the first place and how he just wanted to be liked by his littermates.

Featherwhisker takes pity on the poor kittypet and goes to Sunstar to ask that Thunderclan take in the kit and train him as a warrior. Sunstar agrees, much to Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw’s dismay.

Tiny recieves his Clan name of Icekit and is fostered by a Thunderclan queen until he is old enough to be an apprentice. Icepaw’s training goes smoothly and without issue and soon he has earned his warrior name Icestrike.

When Bluestar brings another kittypet into the clan Icestrike takes interest immediantly. Once Rusty has been welcomed into Thunderclan as Firepaw Bluestar tasks Icestrike with mentoring the newest apprentice.

Firepaw and Icestrike form a close bond and often feel a kinship to each other.

Tigerclaw isn’t happy at all about two kittypets in the clan and he does all the bad stuff he’s done in the books... except Scourge isn’t the leader of Bloodclan.

Off the top of my head I can think of:

Sweetpaw: died of food poisoning (Thistleclaw’s sister)

Swiftpaw: killed by pack of dogs

Finchkit: died moments after birth (Tallstar’s sister)

Mosspaw and Volepaw: presumably killed by Brokenstar

Tadpole: drowned in a flood

Gorsepaw: held down and killed by Tigerstar

Mosskit: froze to death

Snowkit: snatched by a hawk

Mistlekit: died of whitecough (Speckletail’s daughter)

Elderkit and Tulipkit: died moments after birth (Brindleface’s kits)

Nightkit and Mistkit: died of complications of early birth (Tigerstar’s sisters)

Larchkit, Petalkit and Patchkit: drowned in the river (Mapleshade’s kits)

Juniperkit and Dandelionkit: died of weakness (Squirrelflight’s kits)
